Hi Lumi. This year I’ve watched The Clone Wars, Rebels, Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, and Tales of the Jedi and I’m watching Ahsoka as episodes are released. But I feel like I’m missing some context as to why people are wary of Filoni. What things should I know so I’m caught up, so to speak, in the fandom discussions?
Hi! That's a lot of Star Wars to watch in a year, I hope you're having fun with it all! And I will gently remind everyone that Filoni is not the be-all-end-all of Star Wars creators--Henry Gilroy was there for TCW and Rebels, too. George Lucas was holding writers' meetings years after the show started (at least into 2010!). The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett are far more Jon Favreau's shows. The Bad Batch is Brad Rau and Jennifer Corbett. Resistance was developed by him, but was run by other producers. It's just that Filoni tends to get the most camera time and has become the face of Star Wars creators. That said, the issue with Filoni is kind of two-pronged, though, they overlap. 1. He's done a lot of interviews where he's said a lot of anti-Jedi things that have drifted from reasonable critiques in the beginning to eventually "Qui-Gon Jinn was the only true Jedi. [blatantly wrong citations]" This has put a lot of people off him as a creator, because we love the Jedi Order that Lucas talks about and established, which Filoni has actively contradicted over the years, despite being promoted as someone who follows Lucas' themes. And it's hard not to be aware of his interviews when watching his shows and it's hard to enjoy shows that do your faves dirty, you know? 2. His writing has become weaker over the years for a lot of us--Rebels is a show most of us love and found to be incredible. Many of us really love The Clone Wars, which he was heavily involved in/was probably the central voice after Lucas started phasing out. But his biggest story told over the course of those series--basically, the story of Mandalore's history and fall to the Empire--has been extremely thin for a lot of us. And a lot of us get frustrated at his inability to be objective when it comes to Ahsoka's character, that we love her as a character very much, but it hasn't felt like Filoni really knows what to do with her character arc and yet almost everything he writes is centered around her. His final season of The Clone Wars? Gave her the walkabout arc and the Siege of Mandalore arc, both of which often did not hold up well under scrutiny. His episode of The Book of Boba Fett? I actually really loved it, but it absolutely just stopped the pacing of that show to focus a lot on her. More on Luke, but he couldn't resist putting her in there, either. Tales of the Jedi was half devoted to Ahsoka and so much of it wasn't even about her time as a Jedi! We're frustrated because he doesn't set things up well anymore--Morgan Elsbeth is a Nightsister?? Why wasn't that established in The Mandalorian instead of pulling out randomly in Ahsoka? Why does Sabine Wren suddenly so badly want Jedi training, when they barely even had a conversation in Rebels?? There's a lot of good that Filoni has given to Star Wars, I think he genuinely cares about the Force and what it means--he's very consistent on how it's not easy and how it takes discipline and control, that he has been consistent on how anger and fear are paths to the dark side, even his episode of TBOBF had Ahsoka saying, yeah, attachment is a path to the dark side, because the Jedi mean "attachment" in a more Buddhist-aligned way. A lot of his writing for the character of Ahsoka is actually pretty good, like I've been enjoying her being a prickly, traumatized hot mess in the show! It's just that I kind of hate all the interviews he gives and I think he's a lot less objective than a lot of fans and media coverage that would hold him up as a perfect writer/interviewee about all things Star Wars, and it all comes together to make him kind of a hot-button topic.
So, a lot of people LOVE Filoni's work, a lot of people are frustrated by it, a lot of people are casually fine about it, a lot of people HATE Filoni's work and it can be a fun mix of any of the above or even other issues that come up. (And that's all fine! I have my views on Filoni's work, but it's fine if others hate it more than I do or love it more than I do, there's room for us all, all of it is valid.)
But I think if you want to understand some of the roots of this corner of fandom's frustration, two (admittedly long as heck) homework assignment reads would be:
- My own rebuttal to Dave's behind the scenes Mandalorian Gallery talk (this is jokingly referred to as "Davegate" because I refused to take it too seriously) - @david-talks-sw's collection of comparisons between Lucas' commentary on the Jedi and Filoni's commentary on the Jedi
This response itself is more focused on laying out the problems a lot of people have with Filoni's writing, but also honestly I still have my giant collection of Jedi source material citations that quotes his commentary, I still bring up Filoni's quotes in current meta a lot, I still talk positively about the things I enjoy from his shows, so overall there's equal amounts of both praise and criticism here. So, as short as I can make it (which isn't very, shut up, I know! XD), that's basically what people mean when they say they're wary of Filoni.

okay i do want to voice out my opinion in.. well certain fics
i get it, it's called FANFICITON for a reason, but of course there has to be limitations because at this point i feel like i dont want to be a part of any community again
i do hope you know what "dark content" actual is. yes, its dark, but dark is way different than full on disgust. i do think incest doesn't belong to "dark content", because you're having sex with your biological family. that's gross and surely other siblings/bio family members wouldn't want to have sex with someone they're related to
even if it's traumatic/ptsd related, lets not romanticize that at the very least. its a really serious situation we shouldn't be putting in our writing just for the sake of attention and pleasing others.
obviously seeing smut fics of your favorite character isn't a nice thing to see. any fandom, like majority or even all people in a fandom wouldn't and cant handle incest. like- any sane person would never handle that honestly
ive read the aventurine incest fic with his sister and least to say, i wasn't pleased a bit because im sure aventurine wouldn't do that, and im sure others agree too.
me, along with some others (majority of aventurine fans id say) wouldn't want to see gross works about the character/s (doesnt limit to aventurine) because it genuinely upsets us due to how someone decided to treat a character in such a negative scenario society perceives, because i know some others view these characters as their comfort character.
this also gives the writing part of the fandom a bad light and we obviously dont want to get caught up in that bad light.
i saw the author say that they're disgusted by their brother, yet wrote this fic about brother!aventurine wanting to get his siter pregnant with their child...
i kind of admire the courage of this person to post this fic thinking it was okay for like- majority of people. i know its a mater of preference of smut fics, but i honeslty think liking incest related fics isn't something to enjoy especially when its someone you're close with.
some might defend, saying that others (specifically irl people) enjoy getting r#p#d or having sex with their family members, but id like to say that's a different case and lets not add it to our writings that will be shared to others. perhaps the reason why people enjoy these stuff is because that's how they were raised when they were young, and young and developing brains of kids are easy to brainwash and inflict trauma, even teens, heck adults too
if you think we're just sensitive, we're not because i wouldn't want my parents or sibling to just suddenly want a baby inside of me, id call the police ASAP
at this point ill just play a game without even looking at the community/fandom to spare myself a bit of my sanity and please read the entire thing and hopefully get my point

Subtlety is Key
Fandom: The Rookie
Series: One Shot
Pairing/s: Tim Bradford x Reader
Warning/s: none
Word Count: 1,171
Request: Hey ^^ I read your latest Tim Bradford story and it was amazing! So I was wondering, if you could write another one. YN has a crush on Tim and he noticed it a while ago. After some time he likes her back and begins to slightly flirt with her. At first she doesn’t notice it and moves on like normally, until Tim invited her for dinner. :)
@emii-chuu
Tumblr media
It was frustrating, getting embarrassed and flustered in front of Tim, you were a police officer for god's sake, but you couldn't help it. It was, well, Tim.
If you knew that he'd actually noticed, you'd probably have handed in your notice on the spot, but to Tim's credit, he brushed it off. You never said anything, and although your interactions were a little awkward when it was just the two of you, you were both professionals, and good friends, and he told himself that mixing work and romance was a line he'd never cross.
Recently, though, he'd started to notice himself... noticing you more. You were easy to talk to and easy to be around, and he half consciously, half unconsciously let himself start to cross that line, his self-control slipping, and tested the waters with a bit of harmless flirting.
You hadn't reacted yet. At least, no more than usual. And after a couple of weeks, he started to think you'd move past your feelings for him afterall.
As for you, you told yourself he was just being nice. Very nice, oddly nice, but still, nice.
Lucy and Angela, however, had a little more to say about it than that.
"Seriously Y/N, he's been flirting with you for weeks!" Lucy insisted, exasperated at the circles the conversation was going in, but amused all the same.
Lucy was leaning against Angela's desk ad the detective sat in her chair after a day of supporting her with a case. They'd been on you about this all day.
"No he hasn't, he's just being nice," the countered like a broken record, convincing yourself less and less each time.
Even so, you don't want to read into something that isn't there and make things awkward between you and Tim, so you'll assume he's just being nice until he tells you otherwise directly.
"Tim?" Lucy looked from you to Angela with a raised brow and a smirk, then back to you, "just being nice? Have you met him?"
"She has a point," Angela told you and you laughed, stepping to the side to let a couple of officers pass, the day coming to an end.
"Guys come on, there's nothing there for him," you told them both, lowering your voice a little. The office might be emptying, but people could still overhear.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that," Angela said pointedly.
"Yeah Y/N, trust me, I've been riding with him for a while now, so when I tell you he likes you, I mean he really likes you," Lucy added for emphasis, the women finishing each other's thoughts in a way that told they'd had this conversation behind your back too
You shook your head and laughed, checking your watch; "well as much as I'm enjoying this conversation - or, intervention - it's high time I got going home."
"Uh huh, you're avoiding this," Lucy accused, pushing herself up from the desk to grab her bag from the floor.
"Of course I am," you replied with a curt nod, turning on your heels with a wave to exit the building, and the conversion.
"You shouldn't!" Angela called as you walked away, both women laughing from behind you and you couldn't help but chuckle about it yourself. They were relentless.
You were still thinking about the conversation as you made your way to the parking lot, your mind a million miles away.
"Y/N," your name from behind made you jump as a hand touched your shoulder. Whirling around you were a split second from flipping the person who had caught you off guard to the ground, when you registered who it was.
"You know sneaking up, on a cop trained in hand to hand isn't very smart," you pointed out to Tim who held up his hands and took a step back, grinning.
"Sorry, I did say your name," he told you and you both laughed.
"Oh oops, I must have been miles away," you apologised, your heart still pounding as you tried to play it off casually.
You tried to keep eye contact as he returned your gaze but you had to glance away, your thoughts going back to what Angela and Lucy had said. Damn it.
"Heading home?" He asked, hands going in and out of his pockets like he didn't know what to do with them. If you didn't know better, you'd say he seemed nervous.
"Yeah I'm starving," you told him, eyes tracking to his hands. He noticed and kept them firmly at his sides.
He took a pause and then said quickly; "you maybe want to grab dinner?"
"With- with you?" The question caught you off guard and you had to check if you'd heard correctly.
"Yeah I mean, no pressure I just thought I'd ask, if not-" he self-consciously rubbed the back of his neck and looked down.
Tim Bradford? Asking you out? Was this actually happening?
"No, I mean yes, I mean-" This was not happening the way you imagined it in your head.
"I know what you mean, I think" he smiled with relief and pause, adding after a thought: "I do mean dinner like a date by the way."
The clarification made you laugh. "I just, didn't expect you to want to ask me out," you admitted.
Tim met your eyes with fondness, and a little bit of nervousness as he stumbled through what he said next. "Look I, well I'm not entirely... blind? I did notice you might have had a thing for me-" Heat rushed to your face and your eyes went wide, oh god. "-and Lucy then got it in my head, of course, but we work together and I figured it was better just to move on, but recently, that's been a little difficult. I thought I'd, well, test the waters by flirting with you to see if you were still interested or if I'd missed my shot, but you didn't seem to notice I was doing that,"
"I- er- no I just-" you laughed and shook your head, face still warm. "Let me start over; I might have liked you for a bit, but you didn't seem to feel the same way so I never said anything, then I just assumed you were being nice, which again, Lucy tried to convince me otherwise."
"She really is a meddler isn't she," Tim said, though his tone suggested he didn't mind.
"Yes she is." You were definitely going to give her a hard time for this tomorrow.
"Look it really is no pressure on the dinner, if those feelings have passed," Tim's tone was serious, giving you an out without making things awkward, not that you needed it.
"No, I'd... like to go to dinner with you," you answered, still not quite believing this was happening.
"Yeah?" He checked.
"Yeah." You confirmed.
"Good," he nodded, unable to stop himself from smiling as you left together, and you found yourself doing the same.
Okay, so maybe he'd had feelings for you after all.

Character: Alejandro Vargas
Prompt:Naughty || Cabin Sex ||
A/n: I love him and thank you for sending this in
Warnings: soft smut, light fingering, unprotected sex.
Fandom: Call Of Duty: Modern Warfar ii
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alejandro couldn’t wait to get to the cabin, he couldn’t wait to get you alone. After all the crap he had to deal with he was finally able to spend the next few weeks alone with you.
The moment you mentioned the idea of staying in a cabin he couldn’t help but jump at the opportunity. While it was a bit chilly he was just eager to have you in his arms. Humming he wrapped his arms around your waist, your back to his chest as he rested his chin on your shoulder. “This is perfect Mi Amore.”
Craning your neck you hummed giving him a gentle kiss though once you broke it you wove your fingers through his then tugged him towards the cabin. “It is….I’m just eager for you to take me in every room.” You teased.
Feeling warmth creep up his neck, Alejandro turned his head away. “Mi Tesoro! Please.”
Laughing, you always thought how cute Alejandro got when you teased him. For someone who was one of the best agents, it was rather easy to get him flustered.Shrugging your shoulder, you continued to pull him towards the cabin. Taking a breath in you glanced around, your eyes quickly moving to the couch. “What? I’m only starting facts, and with that being said I think this is the perfect place to start.”
Pushing the man down on the couch, a small grunt escaped his lips as you moved to his lap. “I can’t help myself when I’m around you Alejandro. You’re the perfect package. You care about your people, your team, your accent is super sexy, not to mention your looks. I really hit the jackpot on you.”
Shaking his head, Alejandro slipped his hands under your shirt, his fingers slowly raising it up. “Nonsen, I am the one who is lucky. Mi vida….I feel like I am a better man because of you.”
Sighing you gave him a soft kiss, then kissed his jaw. “Then let’s just say we’re both right.”
“That is something I can get behind.”
Grinning, you captured his lips in for another kiss. Alejandro melting into your touch. Your fingers running through his hair as he tightened his hold on your hips. A whimper leaving your lips as you slowly grounded yourself against him.
"Mierda."
A jolt of pleasure rushed through your veins, you always loved it when the man spoke in his native tongue, you loved you good the words sounded on his lips. "That good? we haven't even gotten to the good part yet?
"tu vas a ser la muerte para mi?"
Pouting, you watched Alejandro give you a smile. The man knowing just how to push your buttons. "Alejandro! You're not being very nice you know."
"No tengo idea de lo que estás hablando, mi amor."
Rolling your eyes, you let your fingers grasp your sweater. Lifting it over your head you shivered at the sudden chill hitting your bare chest. You turned your head away, suddenly feeling shy from the man's intense gaze. His fingers slowly running up your side until they finally reached your breasts. "Eres como una obra de arte, tan jodidamente hermosa."
Closing your eyes a small smile formed on your lips as you did your best not to moan his name out. His tongue now dancing around your nipple. "You know, it's not very fair that I'm the only one who's half naked."
"Ah, you are right mi vida. Let me rectify this situation." Making sure you were settled on his hips the man quickly tugged off the sweater you had bought him. Giving you a teasing him he gave your hips a squeeze though you were to focused on his chest. Some scars littered across his body. Somewhere knife wounds, while another was from a bullet but the one that always caught your eyes was the burn mark above his bicep from when Graves held him. You hated that one the most, you hated seeing it because he was captured protecting you. Leaning in you then placed a kiss on the scar, your lips tracing the jagged skin.
A groan leaving Alejandro's lips, his fingers continuing to message your hips. But he knew what you were thinking, he saw that look in your eyes, the look of heart break, how you blamed yourself when he got captured. "mi corazón, it is not your fault to what happened to me. Now let me make love to you."
Kissing you gently he helped you removed the yoga pants you wore along with your panties. " You're so beautiful." Pushing you back into the couch, he hovered over you. While you can see the lust in his eyes you also noticed that adoration, love. You felt like a treasure whenever you were with Alejandro though a sharp gasp escaped your lips when you felt his fingers slip into your folds, your hips bucking.
His thumb teasing your clit as your fingers clutched at the cushions below you.Removing his fingers, he slowly licked them clean of your juices. “You taste divine my love. But I rather feel you wrapped around me.” He whispered against your neck.
Nodding your head, you couldn’t help but part your legs as you watched him remove the rest of his clothing, biting your lip you reached out to grasp his erection. His member pulsing in your hand, your fingers slowly sliding up the shaft. Your thumb gliding over the head feeling the pre cum from the tip. Smiling you licked the pre cum away. “You taste good too.”
“Mierda!” Alejandro' hissed then pushed you down onto the couch. “ do not tire out on me, I plan on fucking you in every inch of this cabin.”
Alejandro was always gentle when it came to making love with you. He liked to take his time with you, to push you over the edge over and over again. Pushing into your folds he buried his face into your neck, his teeth grazing the bare skin as he slowly started to thrust. Rocking his hips as he barley pulled out, it felt too good being within you,
“Alejandro!” His name escaped your lips, your nails digging into his neck as he continued to thrust.
“Mierda”
Glancing up, you caught his gaze. His brown eyes turning a deeper shade, darkened by lust.Pulling you in for a deep kiss, you felt him pick up the pace. Skin slapping against skin.
Breaking the kiss, he then nuzzled your neck. “You feel so fucking good Y/n…wrapped around my cock, you’re perfect, you are perfect and you are mine.” He gave your breasts a squeeze.
A gasp left your throat as you tired to match his thrusts. “Fuck! Alejandro! More!”
Wrapping your legs around his hips, you forced him deeper within you. A whimper leaving your lips as Alejandro let out a strangled groan.
Palming your breasts, you felt him hit your sweet spot each time. “I want you to come for me Y/n.” His thumb now teasing your clit. Both of your breaths becoming erratic as he slammed into your warmth, and with one final thrust you were seeing stars. His name leaving your lips like a prayer. Your nails digging deeply into his back as your walls clenched around his cock. His thrusts turning sloppy as he chased his own orgasm. Pulling you in for a kiss, Alejandro continued his thrusts, with a few more you felt him pulse inside of you as he released into your pussy. The man groan deeply as he messaged your breasts, once he recovered from his high he slowly pulled out of your warmth. Alejandro couldn't help but feel a little proud seeing his seed seep from your entrance, watching your chest heave as you did your best to catch your breath.
Smiling, you squeezed slowly pushed yourself into a sitting position. "So should we try the kitchen or head right to the bedroom.?"
With a laugh leaving your lips, Alejandro gave you a gentle kiss. "I've always did want to lick chocolate off you.?"
"Kitchen it is."

'Shadow in the Light'
Pairing: Captain John Price/GN!Reader
Fandom: Call of Duty MWII (2022)
Warnings: Smut!!! Explicit!!!! rough, creampie, dirty talk, technically canon divergence? seggs on the wall, seduction
Word count: 2.3k+
Explicit content under the cut
You were on the run. Well, more like on the stealth run--you couldn't afford to get caught by anybody. Especially Graves. You weren't just simply let go, once you saw the shift in his attitude when he said "General Shepherd sends his regards," you knew the situation was about to go awry. As soon as Alejandro lunged at Alejandro you tried to run. You wanted absolutely no part in whatever the bell Graves had planned, but you also knew by getting away you had nobody. Task force 141 and Los Vaqueros had zero reason to trust or believe that you were one of the good guys on their side.
It took some fighting to get out of there. As soon as you got a few steps away another Shadow grabbed your arm asking where the fuck did you think you were going. He let you free, but not without a bullet in your back. Back of the bulletproof vest that is, the dumbass thought one shot one kill worked in the real world
You escaped, sure, but that didn't stop Soap and Ghost from finding you and taking you in for question when you posed no threat with your measly pistol that had 2 bullets left in the magazine. They wouldn't let you speak up and say you weren't a foe. I mean, why would they? Why should they? Anyone that wasn't with them is now granted hostile status. And while yes, you didn't have many weapons on your character, you were still combat trained, and they knew that for damn sure.
"What the hell do we do with them?," Soap says on your right
"We question them at the safe house. There's no way they can contact the Shadows now. Radio's dead. Price'll be here in a few. Come on, get out the car you're coming with us," Ghost says pulling you from the middle seat that you were just smushed in sitting in between them. Not so bad, at least you weren't cold from the heat they were emitting together
"How much did you know about this?," Soap says getting close to your face to intimidate you
"Not a thing. Can you let me go? I literally left because I didn't agree with any of the shit he was spewing"
"Oh no, not until we get intel on what the fuck just happened and what's about to happen. You're staying put until Price gets here."
"Price? As in...John?," you knew the name sounded familiar when Ghost said it, but you were too focused on trying to get out of the hand made zip tie put on your wrists
"...You know him?," Ghost says from the dark corner he was standing in. You notice he does that quite frequently from the few times you've actually seen him
"I...Used to work with him. Like what Laswell does but a different department. Way before 141 was really a thing, that's why you guys don't know who I am," you told them this while trying to maneuver out of the restraints. You were expressive in the way you spoke, moving around a lot so they don't catch on
"So why did you leave and start working for Shadow Company?," Soap fully stands, crossing his arms
"I was stupid and took an easy opportunity when I saw one. More pay for a job I wasn't as qualified for. They didn't want me for data analytics, more so on the field-"
"Did you know Graves was taking our base?," Rodolfo says walking in from another room, clearly listening
"Yes and no. He mentioned seizing a spot but I didn't know it was yours. Matter of fact, a lot of us didn't, but we usually just go along with Graves without question. Now let me go my wrists are gonna turn blue"
"Like I said, no chance. Captain will be here shortly to get the rest out of ya. Seems you two have some catching up to do," Soap rebuttals
"Fuck am I gonna do? Run away? We're in the middle of nowhere and I'm just as capable as you all are"
"Yeah, that's the problem," Soap turns away from you to talk to Ghost about something you can't hear. You take this opportunity to further break out of your confines. You made sure not to completely undo it so it doesn't hit the ground and make noise. Once successful you survey your surroundings for easy exits
"How much longer is this going to take?," you say sounding like your patience was running thin to distract them
"Why? Got somewhere to go?," Ghost questions from the same spot, not budging even a little bit
You were diagonal to the front door and the windows close to it. You planned to break free, throw the chair towards one of them, then hop out the window furthest from the area
Should be easy
Why were you running if you're on their side? Well, you felt like you had no saving grace at getting on their good side. So fuck it, your word probably won't mean much. What happens when they get what they want from you? Who the hell knows, you're not trying to find out any time soon
You caused a diversion by looking in a random direction and shouting "Who the fuck is that?!" prompting them to all look at the same time. In that split second you did exactly as you planned, getting away and taking off in any direction far from the safe house. Until you heard a gun click.
It's dark outside and miles from the border. Who could this possibly be around this time?
"Keep your head still. No sudden movements," you know that voice anywhere
"Price-"
"Shut your mouth and come with me. Make this easy for the both of us."
You slowly turned with your hands above your head, hoping he'll be able to see your face
"Well, well, well. Long time no speak, partner"
He lowers his gun and puts your arms behind your back, explaining that you may be old friends, but that doesn't mean he won't do what's needed to get the information the task force needs on Graves' next moves.
-
"It's just you and me, sweetheart. Give me what I need and nobody gets harmed in the process. I even let you remain unrestricted so this should be a breeze."
"I'll tell you all I know, but what's gonna happen when you get what you want, huh? Gonna- what, kill me? Send me back? Send me to prison?"
"I don't think you understand," he put his hands on the table from the other side and leaned close to you, "I ask the questions, you answer them. Got it? Good. Now-"
"I know you want me, Captain. No need to hide it," you lean forward in your chair to blur his mind a bit. You could tell he was already stressed from something so you're taking advantage. Not like you want him to respond honestly or anything...
He says your last name to warn you of overstepping
"What? Am I wrong? All you have to do is say 'no, I don't' and I'll drop it, John," you soften up your voice and that frustrates him even more. He chuckles lowly to keep himself grounded
"How about we focus on the task at hand, hm? Whatever game you're trying to play won't work. Tell me what Graves plans to do. Now."
The table separating you two wasn't that big, so he was mighty close to you even from a short lean towards you, given how tall he is. You stand slowly while staring him in the face to try to get a read on his thoughts, puffing your chest out in the midst
"The task at hand will be solved once you answer me first. You need me, John, so let's not do thi-" he grabbed your face with one hand to bring you closer to his. You could feel the heat from his breath from the proximity
"You. Drive me. Crazy. Were you always this stubborn?"
"That's not in my job description now is it?," you say despite your cheeks being squished in his palm
"You're a cheeky one aren't ya..." he let go and you stumbled backwards into the cold brick wall not too far behind you
"You want an answer?," he says scaling the table towards you. Once he stood in front of you he lifted your chin just a bit, "Here it is,"
Now, your mind was racing with a million different thoughts. In the forefront you always wondered what kind of kisser he is. Rough? Soft? Sensual? Quick? Slow? Handsy? Many options here. What you didn't account for though...
You gasped as he lifted you in his arms but even more surprised you didn't hesitate to straddle his waist. For a short moment you recalled having a small crush on him during the time you worked with him. Truth is, you fantasized about a moment like this before with him, but shoved it back down the pit of your mind. You wouldn't dare let feelings get in the way of work.
But you're off the clock until further notice.
He kissed you like you were long distance lovers who hadn't seen each other in decades. It was feverish and a bit sloppy. Fast but laced with passion. The spark ignited in both of you as soon as your lips met. You kissed him like it was the last kiss that you would ever have. Your hands found their way in his hair and you tugged a little to experiment. This earned a muffled groan from him and he hugged you closer to him. He pulled back for a moment to look at your lips that became puffy already
"I could take you against this wall right fuckin' now."
"Whatever gets me to talk, right, Captain?," he grunts at the sound of his title leaving your lips
"Like this or facing the wall. Take your pick."
"I am in custody aren't I?," he knew exactly what you were hinting at from your simple teasing inquiry. He gently places you down and turns you by your shoulders, pressing his body against your back after putting one arm behind you
This'll be fun
Not even ten minutes later he's rutting up into you like an outside dog. First he would whisper smart remarks in your ear about how good you are for him. Taking him like a champ. You were already getting so loud he had to cover your mouth with his free hand, especially since the room had an echo. His heavy breaths going down your neck were bouncing off the solid light gray walls with no shame
"You know- When you worked with me, I wondered how good you'd look bent over my desk countless times. Those- tight pants you always wore and- loose collared shirts that still showed what you had going on under there. Was that all for me? Even if not it felt like it. Ohh how I wanted to ravish you," steadily shit talked as your muffled cries seemed loud and clear to him. The walls weren't thin, but he wouldn't have cared if they were. Whatever gets the job does is whatever gets the job done. Oh yeah, and getting information from an interrogation
Your nails scratched the walls as he spoke to you. As many times as you've imagined something like this, it wasn't even close. Your brain became mush in instant.
"Is that so wrong? To think of a coworker like this? To think of a coworker taking every inch of me while they enjoy every second of it? Hm? Tell me," you shook your head frantically before starting to rut back to him, trying to tell him you want more. Need more.
"All you had to do was ask, love."
He removed his hand and wrapped his arms around your torso. He pulled you off the wall and set you back down to bend over the table. It was metal and the cold from it was biting back at your now exposed skin including the side of your cheek. He didn't even pull out the whole time he moved you. He didn't have to.
He hovered over you with his hands by your head as he started up again. By the point, he didn't mind your noises of reassurance. You laid there and felt ever last bit of him. You felt his hand press on your stomach before you heard him chuckle again in that same cadence he did before
"You feel that? That bulge?," he took your hand and put it where his was to feel him going in and out, "That's all me. The things you do to me are just...unfathomable-"
He felt you tighten around him, taking this as a smoking signal that you were about to crash down on him. He could feel his own creeping up on him too
"Let's go together, shall we?," all it took was a few more strokes before the coil inside both of you snapped. You let yourself moan uncontrollably as he groaned, pumping his own seed inside of you in pride. Watching and feeling the excess dribble down your legs and the rest of his shaft. "What a beaut...," he mumbles above you as you catch your breath and try to un-fuzz your vision.
After cleaning up you both went back to how you started: You in the chair and him standing across from you ready to get down to business
"You ready to talk now?"
"Will I be sent back to Shadow Company?"
As much as you had no issue with spilling, you really didn't want to go back. Who knows what they would do to you
"Hun, I'm not so cruel. You'll have to come back with us and see if you can get your old job back. I'm sure Laswell would love to see you again," he winks and sits down, intertwining his fingers, "You have the floor"
Here goes nothing.

Suggestive moon boys... hmmm maybe the boys finding out the reader has a piercing 👀 and getting way too excited about it 👀
🔞NO PEOPLE BELOW 18+ BEYOND CUT OFF🔞

Warnings: mentions of reader having pierced nipples, nipple play mention (in Jake's part), and the Moon boys being h o r n y
I’ll shut up now. Enjoy! And don’t be afraid to request.

You didn't specify what piercing but I'm just going to take some liberty since this is a suggestive requests and have it be that reader has nipple piercings because to be honest those are kinda hot to me.
Steven Grant
Listen this whole fandom is in agreeing to three things
Steven is a boobs/chest guy
Steven is easy to turn on and fluster
And that he's secretly a bit of a perv (optional)
So lets set the scene that you and Steven are at your place having a watch party date like watching a movie or documentary or whatever
You're wearing comfy and all that and also not wearing anything else under your shirt
You don't think anything of it until at a certain point you notice Steven looking at your chest and realize that oh yeah right you can kinda see the piercings through your shirt
You ask if he maybe wants to be them in case he's curious
He says yes, of course while read in the face because he was caught staring and now he's just going to see your bare chest for the first time
Steven looks at them in awe and asks the occasional basic questions like "Did it hurt?" , "How long have you had them?" , "Why did you get them?"
You two end up moving on and continue whatever you were doing, but it becomes apparent that Steven's gotten a little bit excited after seeing your piercings
You guys would end up getting to it, completely forgetting about what you were watching and you take your top off so that Steven can look at your piercings all he wants
He doesn't want to admit that your piercings get him off a little but... they do. They do a little something to him.
Marc Spector
Marc found out on accident, kinda
You were staying at his place but hadn't hooked up since it was the first time you had come over and he didn't want to push you into anything, your relationship was kind of new
You had taken a shower the night before and everything seemed will till the next morning he had gone to use the bathroom and saw two little metal pieces on the counter
He didn't really know what they were at first. They were small and oddly shaped to be earrings. And they didn't look like a belly button piercing.
It took him a second of looking to realize that they were for nipple piercings
He blushed a little and just acted like he didn't see anything
But after that, the thought of them sort of existed in his mind and soon became the subjects of his dirtier thoughts
He'd sometimes look at you while on a date and wonder if your wearing them now and how they actually look on you
Marc is knows that your aware that he knows that you have piercings even of you never said anything about it
He actually keeps it off topic even when you guys have sex for the first time because you kept you top on
It wasn't until he got to a point where he was dying to see them while you two are getting frisky again that he asks to see them
Marc is a grown ass man who can control himself but he busted really quick after seeing them
Jake Lockley
Slut (pos/derog at the same time)
He's a horny bitch, dude, we know this, this man fucks
It's okay that I'm calling him a slut
Anyways, yeah no, once he finds out that you have pierced nipples he wants to see and feel
If you show him your piercings and you DON'T start banging afterwards??? Miracle. Truly.
Listen the fandom doth spoken and deemed him an ass man, but he's a boobs guy rn if his partner has pierced nipples
I hope you like nipple play because he's gonna play with them while having sex now
I'm not even gonna spin a story for Jake because either way it's on sight

https://www.tumblr.com/olderthannetfic/730572795212398592/what-is-up-with-all-the-trans-men-on-this-hellsite?source=share
As a trans man, I might have some insight into this one. I'm a lot older than the standard uwu sparkle anti, but I was in my mid twenties for the first wave of weirdness about trans boys on Tumblr about a decade ago, so I was just too old for it then, and I saw a lot of guys my age and a little younger get swept up in it.
OTNF rightly points out that young trans men are a particularily vulnerable demographic. This is part of it, but we're also a demographic that doesn't sit comfortably with our identites (gender identities or otherwise) and are told by everyone (on every side) that we are Doing It Wrong, that our existence harms others, and that we must be this specific way to be good people.
I'm sure you've seen the "trans men are better than real cis men" rhetoric. It's meant to be inclusive and to reassure us that we're not bad people just because of our gender, but it also denies us our entire gender identity.
So basically, you've got a bunch of young guys, most of whom were socialised like girls and learned to never be too assertive, many of whom are straight up suffering from dysphoria and stress, being told by people both within and outside of their communities that the are Wrong and Bad and Harmful just for existing. It makes sense that a lot of them would would find a movement based on moral posturing that will accept them if they perform correctly and will use their real name and pronouns. That's what Antis are; they say "use this vocabulary, send hate mail to that person, put these terms in your DNI, don't be caught reading that story", and, unlike other groups that police people's tastes and performance that hard, they're not overtly hostile to trans identities. So you can spout the right rhetoric, use the right tumblr icon, and they will actually accept you (on the surface, for a time, but we're talking about young and desperate people who aren't looking at the long game).
Helping them harass those badwrong horrible NOTP shippers or aces or middle aged women or some random artist who got caught drawing the wrong age gap or whoever is the fashionable target will prove that you aren't a horrible monster for being a man, you're moral and upright and correct.
And yes a lot of it is internalised misandry (that word has a lot of dumb baggage, but how else can I describe a boy who hates himself for being a boy?), or self-loathing born of dysphoria and just plain having to live in a world that's hostile to trans people.
Being an anti is a way out. It's a way to manufacture acceptence. And they're too young and too hurt to realise that that acceptance is as temporary and hostile as the people who accept them only if they pretend to be girls; the antis will turn on them the moment they start acting a little too manly or if they're caught liking the wrong ship.
(I've seen something similar happen to young cis queer guys and trans girls, too, but it isn't as pronounced since being raised as a boy means you probably already learned that standing up for yourself is ok sometimes)
--
I'm sure it also doesn't help that tumblr is absolutely full of BL/slash fandom. There's certainly plenty of gender diversity in these spaces, but it's inescapable that the majority of participants are women. So for a young, insecure guy trying to assert that he is a guy, it's easy to fall prey to "Waaaah, I need to reclaim my hobby for me!" gatekeepy nonsense.
Sure, it's going to be turned on nbs even harder than on cis women and will be used to misgender other trans men in the end and misogyny isn't cool anyway, but that's not what your average traumatized young fool is thinking when they first join up. They're thinking "I hurt."
TBH, though, probably the largest component is that all of us—all of us—have a mental image of a default human for a given context. It's rarely a trans man. And so anything a trans man does stands out and is A Thing Trans Men Do.
This is true even if you are trans. It is true even if you are not a transphobic dickhead. Unlearning the 'why girls are bad at math' xkcd strip is extraordinarily hard because recognizing patterns and having mental defaults is just how human brains work.
There are shittons of cis women who become antis, but they're just not notable in the same way.
Are trans men more vulnerable to becoming antis? It's possible, and the reasons you outlined above are likely why. I think it's an interesting question to discuss if we are specifically discussing why the trans men who do become antis do so.
But we don't actually have any hard facts to support that they are more prone to it than anybody else. My guess would be that vulnerable people are more likely to become antis, so any cis woman with a strong source of vulnerability like a shittastic home life is similarly vulnerable to a young trans man with no support network, but who knows.
Maybe only 5% of trans men on tumblr are antis and 50% of cis women. Maybe it's 90% of trans men and 20% of cis women. Maybe it's 1% and 1% and they're just all very loud.
We have no data. We just don't know.
And we will never be able to trust our own brains on this until trans vs. cis is such a nonissue that we don't even notice it.

The reality is that most kids would be either a Fluke or Jin. If nothing else it’s because they don’t also want to be bullied or ostracized by their friends. You can criticize the choices that Jin makes but realize that he is also a child that doesn’t yet have the maturity and wisdom of an adult. I see this group of teens and their treatment of Non as a cautionary tale. Obviously this is ultimately a horror/thriller so everything is heightened to the extreme. Therefore I don’t have an issue with the gore, mayhem and fantastical elements. But this type of bullying could and does happen in real life sometimes with devastating tragedies. So I do wish that people on social media were more careful of the terms they use and directly harassing your character is not a good look. Hurling insults behind a computer screen hurts just as much as doing it in person. (IMO) The fact that they are essentially bullying you is ironic considering what DFF is about.
There is a certain irony to watch the fandom turn into bullies in defense of the bullied character. I understand being defensive of the characters you like (I'm defensive of Jin in case you haven't noticed lol). But I understand why people don't like him. I've never justified all of his actions, but I do genuinely think people are too hard on him a lot of the time.
And I also wish all the Non defenders would have a bit of nuance about his character too because he's a victim, but that doesn't exempt him from hurting others. I'll never say he cheated because I beleive we shouldn't apply that word to a situation involving coercion and power imbalances. But Non does still get his friends arrested. And he does lie to and gaslight Phee. And those are okay things to acknowledge while still having sympathy for him as a character.
I agree with you. I think most people wouldn't even do as much as Jin tbh because while he doesn't do enough arguably, he does a lot as far as defending Non over and over and over (even up until after Non disappears he's still snapping at his friends to address Non by his name). And it's really hard to be that level of defiant to your peers constantly. It's waaaaaaay easier to be Fluke and look the other way and tell yourself that you're not involved then, even if you could stop it.
Everyone online seems to have a hero complex and think they'd do the Absolute Right Thing even when there's no clear right thing in certain situations, and then they demonize these teenagers for not doing those things. (I made a thread on Twitter talking about Jin lying to the police and police corruption in the DFF narrative and in Thailand in general, including linking to a bunch of Thai tweets that talk about that and I got people replying to me saying that they live in countries with police corruption but they still would've told the truth to the police even if they would've disappeared and I got a good laugh out of that. It's so easy to be the hero in your head in a hypothetical situation, but reality is a lot harder than that).
Yeah, I don't know why this particular fandom seems to be so caught up on "if you like a character that I view as morally bad then YOU are a bad person" especially considering the audience crossover to the KPTS fandom like. Were you mad at all of the mafia boys doing mafia things in KPTS becaussssssse that was worse than a lot of what's happening in DFF so far ahahahaha
Anyway, I'm not ever going to demand that everyone likes Jin. I don't particularly care of people like him or not as long as they're not coming after ME about it. I wish people were a little less... vitriolic about the mistakes of teenagers, though I understand why many people are so mad about it. I just can't get past the idea that these people were all kids when they made these mistakes, and it's hard to see even Por die because I have sympathy for them all. Did they fuck up? Duh. Do they deserve to die...? I have a hard time with that, but I'm trying to be mentally prepared ahahahaha
I also hope all the people out there who have decided Jin is the worst person ever and deserves to die are prepared for if that doesn't happen. Because there are a lot of threads in the narrative point pretty strongly to a future redemption for him IMO (tho of course they could go in another direction, anything is possible at this point). And I have a feeling that all those people who are calling me names on Twitter aren't going to handle it well if Jin get redeemed or like... lives in the end. I have a feeling they won't handle that well.
Anyway, thanks for the message 💕

Serious talk about meta under the cut.
I don't know who might need to hear it, but fwiw mental flexibility is a huge part of analysis (and interacting with other humans lol). You need to be able to account for multiple possibilities when examining a work, or understanding a social exchange. You need to be able to separate what is objective fact from your own subjective interpretation and judgment. The most negative interpretation is not automatically the most worthwhile or true. Someone throwing accusations around in-line with their own worst interpretations does not guarantee those accusations are warranted. You are not a bad or stupid person for disagreeing. Shit needs to withstand scrutiny. I don't always strike the right balance myself. I do the best I can but I'm definitely not perfect. Tbh I'm not beyond pettiness either--although I try to keep that out of actual analysis lol. There have been times I've griped to friends privately or blogged about how I felt (sans tags, with spoiler blocks so people can opt out). I've griped recently. I'm bound to gripe again in the future. Some level of griping is inevitable imo and I figure no one is 100% immune.
All that said, even if someone’s take isn't canon AND even if it's something I really dislike--I'd personally rather people follow their passions anyway. Hands down. I could be in the middle of a rant and my answer would still be that the subject of my frustration gets to exist. I'm not the boss and odds are we're going with different versions in our own heads. Discouraging another fan from creating due to my preferences or narrative approach would horrify me. I've seen fandoms where gatekeeping like that killed the creative community and it was fucking awful.
Not everyone is confident in their own judgment. Not everyone faced with a pissed off person trying to use lore and accusations like clubs will feel okay continuing with their own vision. Elitism and manipulation (especially through rhetoric) can be present within analysis. People are not being taught how to recognize those things properly. Analysts aren't always aware or invested enough to even be careful. It’s legit easy to get caught up in ideas or feelings to the point of forgetting about other people’s, and adjusting to account for alternate approaches takes some work. For me at least, I think having a 'no insults' policy and being super careful when it comes to absolute claims (assertions not qualified by 'I think' or 'it could be argued') helps.
Anyway. Just because a person calls something ‘meaningless’ doesn't make it meaningless. Someone pooh-poohing an observation you made doesn't make your observation less true or important. Employing a literary term doesn't mean that individual actually understands the term, how it works, or how to apply it. Which is to say nothing of romantic chemistry or whatever. I encourage readers to extrapolate on this. ‘Shallow’ could apply as much as ‘meaningless’. Denying parallels exist by itself doesn’t actually negate those parallels. Your version of a character may not be the same as the fan next to you’s and that difference doesn't have to detract. There's more I could say on the subject (I've edited out a lot) but basically--just because another fan isn't into what you're doing doesn't automatically make what you're doing wrong, immoral, shoddy, or otherwise less.
Seriously, vet shit. Question the entire premise an analyst tries to establish then decide for yourself if it holds water. Turn over word choices and assertions in your head before deciding if they're appropriate. Do it to me too. I don't care if someone is the holy goddamn emperor of analysts. Just because a person says something is good or bad, true or false, whatever the hell doesn't make it so. Just because a person uses a technical term doesn't mean they're discussing it effectively. Quality of argument matters beyond the packaging it’s wrapped in. It's important to protect yourself from people whose priority is enforcing their own preferences, including dismissing things they aren't partial to.
I just don't want anyone shamed silent man. Not even people whose takes drive me up the fucking wall. Neither I nor any other analyst is an authority here. And there are people who are absolutely ready to take advantage of other people’s insecurities to assert themselves. Might not even be malicious, just indifferent.
For me, analysis feels kind of like uncovering a dinosaur skeleton. I want to share the cool and exciting things I find with other people. Sometimes I might be sorting out what my own thoughts and feelings are. It's also possible to examine why you're uncomfortable with something, or why you love something another person hates, while making very clear what is YOUR READING and not THE READING. Offering a variety of possibilities is very different from presenting yourself as the only correct one. One note at the end when everything else was insulting and intolerant is like a band-aid over a wound.
EDIT: As a last point, that I'm throwing in just-in-case. If anyone reading this thinks they may have overreached and done stuff I've mentioned + feels shitty about it… that's still not the end of the world. It’s okay. This is hard stuff to learn and I really don't think anyone's perfect at it. Worth the effort though. Just gotta take a deep breath, acknowledge you're a fallible human same as everyone else, and do the best you can going forward. Life goes on.

different anon, but i thought we all agreed canon remus is a timid, sheltered boy? unlike the fanon's alphamale remus. i think that was an important point. don't know why you said like it was a personal interpretation. and i think when the anon called it fanon toxic heteronormative wolfstar, they meant the r & s in your fic are alphamale-ed remus & abused, shorter sirius. you can make disabled remus fight, but the alphamale-ification of him is. i think we writers should try to not spread that remus. man, i don't think you have to agree with the anon or me, you do you and we do we. sent it just to clarify a few stuff
you guys have caught me in a bad mood so fine let's get into it lmao
"i thought we all agreed canon remus is a timid, sheltered boy?"
well, you thought wrong!! generally speaking if you're saying "i thought we all agreed..." about something in fandom, you are wrong. this space is huge and there are tons of different interpretations of canon. i don't like all of them, but you know what i do when i don't like someone's interpretation? i unfollow them or block them or simply scroll past their post or don't read their fic!! it is sooooooo easy to ignore a stranger on the internet's take on harry fucking potter c'mon now
that being said, the idea that remus is "sheltered" in canon is laughable to me. that kid became a werewolf at six years old, he was forced to deal with the harsh realities of the world wayyyyyy before any of his friends. and i guess you could interpret him as timid, maybe, but i personally don't!! professor lupin in the books is incredibly vivacious, sarcastic, funny--plus, he spent his youth fighting voldemort + death eaters. none of that screams "timid" to me.
and, again, even if that was my interpretation of canon remus, this is not a canon-compliant fic. i am specifically putting the characters in a universe where voldemort won and they grew up separately, without all going to hogwarts together, and exploring my interpretation of how their personalities would change. remus in this world is definitely not fucking sheltered and he literally could not be timid if he wanted to survive. you don't have to read the fic if you don't like seeing him that way!
unlike the fanon's alphamale remus. i think that was an important point. don't know why you said like it was a personal interpretation.
again, the idea that "the fanon" is a single united entity is laughable. there are tons of fanon interpretations of remus. you can choose not to interact with the ones you dislike!!! and i said the "sheltered and timid" thing was a personal interpretation because it is.
and i think when the anon called it fanon toxic heteronormative wolfstar, they meant the r & s in your fic are alphamale-ed remus & abused, shorter sirius.
let's just say what you mean here: you think interpretations of r + s where one is more "feminine" and one is more "masculine" are heteronormative. i think that's bullshit! the idea that gay couples where one is more feminine and one is more masculine are "heteronormative" is the shit that's been ostracizing + marginalizing butches + feminine gay men within the queer community for literal decades--genuinely, it was (and continues to be, apparently!) a huge lesbophobic talking point in feminist circles that butch/femme relationships were un-feminist because butches were basically just "mimicking straight men." not only that, but it leads to pretty blatant transphobia on account of, y'know, trying to police people's gender presentation based on how you think someone of their gender is meant to present. so i don't have ANY fucking patience for this discourse and if you try to bring it to my blog you will get blocked.
and i'll address the idea that remus in my fic is an "alphamale" in a second, but for now--what about having one person be shorter and one person be taller in a relationship makes it heteronormative?? are short people automatically feminine to you?? and what about having one party being abused makes a relationship heteronormative?? is being abused an inherently feminine trait?? i'd recommend thinking about what exactly you're trying to claim here before you bring it to my askbox.
you can make disabled remus fight, but the alphamale-ification of him is. i think we writers should try to not spread that remus.
first of all, i think the idea that The Fandom is spreading some sort of plague of "alphamale remus" is silly. The Fandom is not a monolith; the majority of blogs + writers i follow portray him as a wet sock. so if you're being inundated with "alphamale remus" content that you don't like, start learning to use the block button.
beyond that, the interpretation that remus is an "alphamale" in my fic at all just tells me that both you and the first anon have not read the fic in its entirety. the only reason i can imagine that the first anon even brought that up is the fact that remus is in a werewolf fighting ring and acts flirty with sirius when they first meet. we get an entire chapter from remus's perspective where we learn that this is a specific persona he has had to adapt to survive, and we also learn that he is fighting in this werewolf fighting ring for reasons that are specifically tied to the way he is marginalized in this fictional society. the fic spends a ton of time exploring the way his marginalization has shaped his life and i spend over 20k words writing his pov in his head demonstrating that his anger comes from that marginalization, and that the "aggression" he is interpreted as having is a) partially stereotyping because he's a werewolf and b) partially a persona he has to adapt to survive in the werewolf fighting ring. again, if you don't like reading him like that then you don't have to read the fic. but the idea that fighting other werewolves specifically as a facet of the ways in which werewolves are oppressed in this society is something that makes him an "alpha male"....i mean if that's what you're taking away from it then i simply don't want you to read my fics in the first place.
man, i don't think you have to agree with the anon or me, you do you and we do we. sent it just to clarify a few stuff
the first anon literally asked me to rewrite my fic. sure, i could have just ignored the message and blocked them, and maybe i should have--but like i said, you guys caught me in a bad mood, and this is my blog, so. to answer that ask, i actually did have to disagree with them, because i had to say, "no, i will not rewrite the fic." and you've put me in a position where i actually do have to disagree as well, by saying stuff like "i thought we all agree," where not saying anything would be tacit agreement when i don't agree. i will do me, and i suggest you and the first anon go do you far away from that, because it seems like it would be better for everyone involved! i don't really care if you think you were being polite or helpful with this message; i didn't need you to clarify, and i did not need the holier-than-thou moralizing about what "we writers" should do when it's not even something i'm doing.
again, i don't care if people don't like my fic. just don't read it!!!! and just don't follow this blog!!! there is literally zero point in sending me messages like this nitpicking interpretations, especially not when the crux of your issue is that i'm making wolfstar "heteronormative," an argument that is deeply rooted in homophobia and transphobia. felt like ranting tonight, but generally speaking i will just block anyone who brings that shit into my askbox.

Fanfic Writer Ask Game!
🎯 🦈?
🎯 Do you have a writing milestone you’re working towards?
nope. I am at the whims of my inspiration and energy levels.
🦈 Which character is the toughest to write?
in ROTTMNT I would probably say Mikey. I think it's a little easy to lean too hard into the sort of "sweet little brother" thing that a lot of fandom likes (this isn't meant as a callout, lol, I like it too) and forget that he is canonically a little gremlin who is very silly and sometimes pretty gross (I mean he's a 13 to 15-year-old boy so it tracks).
Also he probably has the least defined character arc of literally every main character in the series (including the supporting cast like April, Splinter, Draxum, and both Caseys). Leo has his struggles with his place and identity within the team as well as his growth as a leader, Donnie has his issues with feeling replaced and directly linking his family "needing" him to his family loving him, Raph is struggling to live up to the expectations of the clan and his role as a big brother, April deals with her struggles connecting with her own peers and her fear that she doesn't count as part of the fam, Splinter has a billion things going on, Draxum has a whole redemption arc (truncated as it was) and Casey Sr effectively does too, and Casey Jr. has grief and trauma. And Mikey... would probably have had a really good character arc if we'd gotten the rest of season 2 and season 3!
A lot of Mikey's episodes where he gets to really get feelsy and show his emotions are directly tied to other people's character development, especially Donnie's and Draxum's, so we don't get as much of what his deal is. The only really solid Mikey centric episode is Hot Soup The Game, which definitely brings up Mikey's frustrations with being the youngest and thus babied as a result, so that's something you can draw on for his character, but even that's more tied directly into what he wants from interactions with other people and less about what he wants for himself.
(the truffle episode is super weird... like Mikey learns not to take his friends for granted? I guess?? I wouldn't have expected him to in the first place but yeah I guess that's some character development lol)
(actually as a total side note, it does annoy me a little that when Todd is first introduced as a character in Season 1, the whole point of his superpower being niceness was that he was so nice you'd do anything for him, and even villains were unable to turn him down, which was a really good gag and made him an interesting character. Then at some point it became that Todd's niceness meant he couldn't turn anyone down and suddenly he was just kind of a doormat, to Mikey first in the truffle episode and then all of them later in Todd Scouts. I actually like the Todd Scouts episode but also you didn't have to do that to him lmao)
(actually actually even though I like Todd Scouts I would have loved a version of that episode where Splinter stayed with them in the woods and then we dealt with how his feelings were hurt by the kids being more interested in their phones than his teaching and they could have pointed out that their dad kind of waited until late in life to start teaching them life skills and IDK WE DIDN'T GET THE FAMILY BONDING CAMPING TRIP WHEN THEY GOT CAUGHT IN THE TURTLE TANK IN SEASON 1, WHY DIDN'T WE GET IT IN SEASON 2??)
cough. anyway.
yeah so I always feel bad that when I look at my AUs and stuff I always feel like I give Mikey the least. I'm so sorry, Mikey, you're just already perfect and I don't know where to take you. ;;
Thanks for the ask!

Hi! I was wondering if I could request a Caleb Widogast x reader confessing feelings while him and the reader are stargazing? Congratulations on 3000 follows by the way!
Brighter Than Any Star
Fandom: Critical Role
Character(s): Caleb Widogast
Type of Request: 3,000 Followers Oneshots
Note(s): Thank you!! Ngl I wrote this at work when the idea suddenly came to me. I did my best editing it when I got home but I hope you like it!!
Tumblr media
It's a peaceful night outside. Inside, it's rowdy as the group drinks and parties, Beau even started an arm wrestling contest. But outside, it's quiet and serene.
Caleb went outside to get some fresh air and you followed, not wanting him to be alone. When Caleb is alone, he gets lost in his thoughts like a maze. And you know him well enough to know that those thoughts aren't always the most pleasant.
So you stand next to him, leaning against a bannister, as you both stare at the clear, night sky and watch the stars twinkling. It's a peaceful silence between you and your friend. But the silence also causes you to become wrapped in your own thoughts of "what ifs". And the main point of interest in those "what if" thoughts is the man standing next to you.
"Do you think Exandria is as flat as Veth claims it to be?" You ask Caleb. You know Veth's words are bull, but it's an easy topic to start a discussion. Especially when it's met with the amused chuckle from Caleb.
"Do you look up at that sky and think that this world is flat? That there's nothing above us and it's just an illusion?" Caleb retorts with a small smile on his lips. That smile causes you to feel more warmth than a falling star.
"I know that this moment could never be an illusion," you respond and Caleb gives a hum at your words. A light pink graces his face and it's prettier than any twinkling star above you.
It's a pleasant silence between you two, but this time you're sneaking glances at Caleb instead of keeping your eyes on the sky above you. You think you're being clever, that he doesn't notice. But he does. He might not notice as much as Caduceus, but Caleb always notices you.
"You keep looking at me," he says with a gentle tone. He's not accusing you, but he still lets you know that it's what he noticed. You start to feel a bit flustered at being caught in the act, but you sigh.
"I have," you admit. Maybe it's because it's just the two of you here in this moment or maybe it's because of the comfort you always feel in his presence. But a surge of confidence hits you and you make eye contact.
"I'm in love with you," you tell the wizard. He seems taken aback by your sudden claim and you feel that confidence dwindling a bit as you glance away from your friend. “I didn’t mean to fall for you.”
You're figuring out how to explain yourself. You're trying to come up with words as to why you're in love with him, hoping he acts and doesn't reject you outright.
“And neither did I.”
You don't want to lose him due to you confessing your feelings. You don't want things to change for the worse because of that misplaced courage. You haven't processed what the fuck he had just said.
“…Fucking pardon?”  You can't help but blurt out when his words hit you like a meteor storm. You were deep in your thoughts of "what if" that you didn't hear the answer to one of your thoughts.
Caleb gives an amused smile as the blush on his face had deepened to a more prominent red on his pale skin tone. "I have also fallen for you," he tells you, his zemnian accent soft as if not to scare you away
It's another silence this time as you process what has just been said. But this time, the silence feels like it's on a time limit. Like one of you has to do something or it'll just remain an empty "what if".
But instead of thinking of this moment as a "what if" in the future, you focus on the present as your lips connect with his and his hands hold yours.
Two bright stars twinkle overheard, a constellation devoted to lovers celebrate this new step you and Caleb have made.

OFMD and Revenge
I've been seeing a lot of posts focusing on characters getting comeuppance for their bad actions in this fandom lately.
People are talking about Izzy getting off easy since no one knows that Ed's behaviour is "his fault" or Ed being punished or Stede etc and like,,, no?
If that's what people want then like I get that and I see you, you're feelings make sense and they're about the furthest you can get from an unfounded opinion but that isn't really the approach ofmd seems to be taking when it comes to revenge.
In season 1 we have three major characters who's character arcs are focused on revenge; Jim, Chauncey and Izzy. Their quests for revenge are never framed as desireable.
Jim is basically done with their revenge quest for most of the show, all they really want is getting their knife back, until they return to their home where they're basically shamed for letting go of their grudge. Them continuing to avenge their family is shown to be detrimental. They leave their friends behind and Jackie outright tells them that it's not worth it.
Chauncey is just a flat-out villain this season. Like we get why he's going after Stede, I'd even say the show makes us sympathise with him, but it's also very obvious to us that he's hurting himself and the people around him by refusing to let go.
Izzy want's Blackbeard back, he's stuck in the past and he also develops a grudge against Stede specifically. These are the reasons he becomes one of our main antagonists in season 1.
But this is made even more obvious in season 2, which is why I find it so weird that a lot of people are still rooting for the possability of Izzy being punished.
I think Ed's storyline this season is the shows clearest declaration on how it's going to handle redemption and comeuppance going forward. Ed is pushed over the ledge at the end of season 1 and so far his s2 arc has been focusing on his awful coping mechanisms with trauma and guilt. He's been doing worse and worse things to the characters we love and he fucking hates himself for it. He keeps punishing himself for doing bad things by doing something worse. It's very similar to Chaunceys framing in s1 if you think about it. And he's to scared to stop because he belives that he's unredeemable, that there's no one waiting for him on the other side.
But his crew, his friends, Izzy, Stede even his own imagination (Hornigold) are telling him that he can let go of his anger and that if he'd just show them that remorse without also hurting them, they'd be there. Ed punishing himself isn't helping anyone.
And if we disregard the fact that Izzy has already lost a leg to a long and painfull infection, not to mention the fuckton of mental trauma, we see that he has put himself on the road to redemption by taking accountability for his personal actions as well as protecting the crew from Blackbeard.
Yeah he's technically one of the reasons that Ed is in such a bad place right now, but if the revenge crew aren't insanely pissed at Stede for Ed's behaviour then do ya'll really think they'd react that poorly to finding out about Izzy's involvement?
Like they've been there with him, they've seen the abuse he's endured by Blackbeard and the messed up relationship they have together. I'm pretty sure they'd all agree that he's been through enough.
Yeah he's a dick, and they've basically always known him to be one, but he's their dick.
Idk I just think people are a bit to caught up in moral absolutes here when really the happiest ending for everyone involved would be for the characters to forgive themselves for the pain they've caused, and to free themselves of their personal grudges so that they can properly heal.

Would you have any writing advice/tips for someone just starting out? I hope to one day be as skilled as you are!! <3
oh my gosh this has been sitting in my inbox for way longer than I've wanted it to T^T but yes!!! I have Many a tips (also sobs??? at you??)
write down. everything. little ideas, dialogue ideas, notes for yourself, future scenes, even if it's one sentence or two. write them. even if you think you'll remember it later
this one is kind of a give or take since I know some people are organized chaos and work better with that but -- try to keep all of your notes for stuff in one place. organization helps a Lot with writing (I say, as I have my notes for songbird spread out over four different apps)
outlines are your friend!!! I love outlines! chapter outlines, fic outlines. they're incredibly helpful in keeping yourself on track and knowing where your story is going. of course, this comes with saying: your outlines are Not set in stone. sometimes while you're writing, the story takes a different direction than you thought it would, and that's okay! sometimes plans change and the original image you had in mind doesn't fit with where the story is going. don't be afraid to plan something again with different ideas! it's all a part of the creative process
outlines also help a buuuunch with pacing of a fic.
speaking pacing, pacing is incredibly important to a story. you don't want things to feel super rushed or super slow either. granted, pacing can be tricky to figure out, but that's something that comes with lots of practice. I suggest looking at like. other fics or even tv shows (I use some animes I'm very familiar with as examples for good pacing)
research. if you're dealing with a topic or a concept that you don't know much about, do some research. I know this one sounds like a given, but I cannot tell you how many times I've read a fic that dealt with something like ptsd and. it was So abundantly clear the writer didn't do any research on it. and was writing based on very old fandom stereotypes that are Not in line with what ptsd actually is. so research is important!
if you're like me and you have trouble visualizing things, get reference images! they're super helpful. I use reference images a ton when I'm describing rooms and buildings. I can't visualize those too well in my head, so I go to google and look up the kind of building or interior I'm trying to describe. ofc, this expands to basically anything too -- clothes, items, scenery, cars
this is probably the most important piece? don't write for numbers. I know it's a lot easier said than done, because at the end of the day we're all human and we like sharing, we like talking about what we've created. and sometimes it's really easy to compare to others and get caught up in how well a fic is doing based on the kudos/comments/hits, etc (god knows I'm incredibly guilty of it jhhgfhfjg). but the really important thing is that you write for you. write because you're passionate about an idea, or you're excited to see something in your head come to life on the page. focus on your passion, your excitement, and you will find the people who share that. it'll happen naturally. write for the excitement and fun of writing <3
(I also have a whole tag now with other advice posts >/////< there's a lot of stuff in there that I hope can be helpful!!)

Let Me Count the Ways ask game
Requested by @bunnyscar
Fandom: Jak and Daxter Characters: Jak and Daxter (though it kind of ended up being more about Samos and Jak ^^') Prompt: "Where are your clothes?"
Samos could see the two boys as they sneaked up the beach to his hut. Well—boy and ottsel. Instead of an awkward boy tripping along at Jak's heels, all arms and legs next to Jak's confident grace, there was just a smudge of tawny orange clinging to Jak's shoulder. “So, it's happened at last,” Samos sighed, stroking his long, white beard. Ten years ago, he'd known as soon as a buck-toothed boy opened his obnoxiously large mouth that this day would come, but now that it had....
Jak clearly thought he was being stealthy, flitting from shadow to shadow as he dodged around various villagers on his way back home. But he didn't seem to have taken into account that Samos' hut was the tallest structure in Sandover Village, nor that Samos had a telescope with which he could watch their every move.
Even from a distance, he could see Daxter's mouth moving a mile a minute, yapping away in Jak's ear as always. Samos snorted. “And to think I actually thought I would have a quiet, peaceful life here....”
Samos set the telescope aside and let his gaze drift upwards and to the north. A sadness settled in his old bones, a sense of finality, of inevitability. This was always going to happen. The boy's path was already set before him, and there was nothing Samos could do to turn him from it. Not if he wanted the world to survive the coming devastation.
So he had to bite his tongue. Let Jak careen down that path, knowing the whole time that it would bring him unimaginable pain. When that unavoidable day found them, Samos could do nothing to protect him. Jak's affinity for eco would wither, his innocence would be ripped away, every friend and every familiar thing would be stolen from him...and Samos would be able to do nothing but languish in a cell for two years while he waited. Waited for the hero to save the world, as was his destiny.
When he'd taken up the task of raising the boy, far away from Metal Heads and Dark Eco, Samos had thought it would be easy to keep his heart out of it. He knew Jak's destiny, he knew what was at stake, so it would be simple to keep any sort of emotional entanglements from getting in the way.
And yet...and yet. Precursors help me.
A creak of floorboards behind him, and suddenly the ache in Samos' heart gave way to an outburst of anger. “What in green tarnation do you two want?” he snapped, whirling around to face them. “And where are your clothes, Daxter?”
The two-foot-tall orange rodent put his hands—paws?—on his hips. His completely bare hips. “Really?” Daxter snapped, his voice as loud and grating as it had been when he was a human boy. “I walk in here lookin' like this, and that's the first thing you say?”
“You're right,” Samos said with sarcastic cheer. “I should have said, 'Welcome home, boys. I'm so glad the two of you went mucking around in the only place that I told you not to go!'” His voice rose with every word.
“Hey!” Daxter protested. “It's not like you told us Misty Island had some kinda purple goop that would turn me into this!”
“So what did you do?” Samos said, stomping closer to them. It was jarring, after all these years, to finally see Daxter the way he was when they'd first met. “Go skinny-dipping in the first pool of Dark Eco you could find?”
“Look, old man,” Daxter shrieked, his voice even more shrill as an ottsel than it had been as a human, “are you gonna keep yappin', or are you gonna help me outta this mess?”
“I'm gonna keep yappin'!” Samos retorted, stomping away again. Jak raised a hand in half-hearted protest, but Samos ignored it. “And don't think I'm letting you off the hook either, Jak! Honestly, I expected much more from you, boy! Daxter's actions don't surprise me in the least, but you....”
His voice trailed off as he turned around again in the middle of his pacing and caught a glimpse of Jak's face. Beneath the embarrassment and chagrin at being caught (unfortunately, a common enough occurrence for these two), there was something desperate in those big blue eyes. Jak looked down at him, silently pleading, and waved his hand in Daxter's direction. Help him, the gesture clearly said. Please.
Samos had seen the same look dozens of times before, when a little boy with tufts of green hair would silently beg Samos to let him go swimming with his best friend, or let him keep some mangy beast as a pet, or fix a bird's hurt wing. Now that boy stood so much taller than him, with strong limbs and hair in a tall crest bleached blond by sun and salt.
But those eyes were the same, filled with distress as he glanced between the man who had raised him and his best friend. One day, those eyes would be filled with rage and pain, but right now...now he was still just a fifteen-year-old boy, out of his depth with forces he didn't understand.
Samos' shoulders slumped and his voice softened a little as he said, “I'm sorry. But even if I wanted to...I can't help you. This is beyond my power to fix.”
“What?” Daxter shrieked, erasing what little sympathy Jak's pleading had garnered him. “You mean I'm gonna be stuck like this forever?”
“Why are you complaining?” Samos sneered. “In my professional opinion, this is an improvement! But if you truly want to fix things,” he said, turning to address Jak before Daxter could do more than splutter indignantly, “you must go see Gol Acheron.”
As he filled Jak in on the quest before him, the sadness burrowed deep into his soul. This was how it all began. In only a short time, the happy, mostly carefree boy he'd raised for the past ten years would be gone. They would eventually be reunited and face the future together...but nothing would ever be the same again.
Thank the Precursors there was one obnoxious little rodent who would never change. They had an odd sense of humor, but for the first time, Samos thought he understood a bit of their reasoning. Jak would desperately need something familiar and stable in the days to come. And if that something had to be Daxter...well, so be it.
