I don't know who would read it but it tickles *my* brain and that's enough.#No spoilers for DE (here or in comments (please)) but please consider....Magpie Wei Wuxian B*) On his way to be an innocent.#I do think there is a good chance a chunk of the MDZS readership would enjoy DE but...it's also not a game I easily recommend #It's more of an experience you have to marinate over. It's dark in ways that are off putting to some people.#It makes you feel like a very bad person all the time. It gets extremely personal if you allow yourself to be honest in your answers #and it's also the game that saved my life. My life was truly forever changed after playing disco elysium.#If I recommend it to people it's a badge of the trust I have in you to appreciate something dear to me B'*)#If you decide to play: PLEASE go in as blind as possible. I think I just gotta start writing the thing, so I'm gonna try to write a bit a day and we'll see how it goes:

Alice wakes up and looks out the window, and... That's weird, it's so much emptier.

Where's the port town facing the sea with their little red roofs and white walls that she can usually see in the distance?

Where are the smoking chimneys of big cargo boats out in the port, made small by the distance?

Where are the cranes, seemingly still ever time she looks, but somehow always hard at work, loading and unloading?

Where is the touch of modernisation?

Out in the distance, all she sees are trees that should not be there and rolling green hills with no roads with people and cars and trucks cutting through them, ever busy.

She opens the window, and the breeze blows in, but it's crisper, fresher, not carrying the smoky tang of vehicles and boats alike, something she never thought of, never noticed until now.

It's quieter too.

There isn't the sound of people and cars and boats in the distance, only the call of birds and the rustling of leaves, so much closer than before.

BANG!

The door startles her and she turns to see Marcus there, panting, anxious, his mouth gaping open, mouthing words he cannot find or voice.

She knows before he speaks what he's going to say.

They aren't in their world anymore.

i like to think that in universe, the scenes inside mike's head are a) animated/cartoon, and b) questionably canon. like they asked him a few questions to get a general idea and then just animated whatever they needed for the plot

Let me ramble about all the best parts of yesterday's Ghost concert in Milan:

The. Costumes. Holy shit. I've seen a thousand photos and videos but let me tell you - seeing all those amazing costumes with my own eyes was priceless. The pope ensemble?? The red jacket?? The bat-wing jacket??? THE GHOULS' MASKS????? I can't breathe

Tobias is incredible on the stage. Just... his energy, his charisma, his sense of humour, the way he moves! That man is made of string and I respect that

Copia and the Ghouls kept interacting in such cute funny ways TToTT the Ghouls kept trying to jokingly steal his spotlight with their solos and he would pretend to get so pissed off, just to fist-bump them immediately after... They even had a guitar solo battle while Tobias was changing into his pope outfit...

Seeing Papa Nihil's mummified corpse being wheeled on stage and reanimated in front of 10k people just for him to put on sunglasses and whip out a saxophone and immediately die back into his casket was an Experience. I've never laughed so much at a concert.

Then Copia appeared again and said "did you see my daddy-o? well, back to ME now!"

At the end Copia came out for the encore and he was wearing his sparkly blue jacket and he said "what, you're expecting more songs? why? do ya think this is a show jacket? nope, it's my PAJAMAS and I'm about to go to BED and you should too because it's a SCHOOL NIGHT. shoo. shoo. go home. what? one more song? two more songs? THREE more songs? whelp, three it is!"

He was trying so hard to speak Italian, bless his soul ;o; he said "bellissimo", "magnifico", "sì" (and went on for a while about how "sì" sounds so much better than "no" and had us scream it a few times lol), and for some reason "due" (the number two. but only that.)

"Are you warm enough down there? Yeah? Because things are about to get HOT" *picks up a pair of huge granny underwear someone had thrown on stage, flings it at the nearest Ghoul, and wipes his hand on his trousers*

man i'm kind of sitting here regretting the fact that i launched my utau site on carrd because i didn't know neocities was a thing, but by the looks of it a neocities site has the potential to be better in literally every single way (read: i am still mad that carrd's audio player is so broken)

#mainly regretting it because the carrd url is now forever immortalized in the original auto recovery teaser #though technically i owe nothing to anyone and could go ahead and switch over whenever i want #i am a Little intimidated by the html though but #i'm pretty sure templates exist???#i've done some work with html and css while working in twine so i don't think it's impossible #but man . . . . .#also other benefit is that neocities is free and i am currently paying a carrd subscription which #while totally fine because it's only like $9 a year #would be better if i didn't have to worry about that w

I have managed to compel myself to work on homework in earnest but in doing so have accidentally made myself dangerously close to hyperfixating on the secret history again and I really want to reread it with some of the additional context about ancient Greek values etc in mind

#either way it will take fucking forever even without taking into consideration the other things I'm working on #because i would have go through all my classics course materials as well to make sure i have everything i want to analyse in mind #and then close read the secret history #and then i would probably end up writing like. essays about it.#and also im very interested in some other things to do with homers work that are making me wonder how doable it would be #to try tro rewrite tsh into dactylic hexameter. and im also learning latin so should i try to do that in Latin?#but I don't know enough latin for that yet. but also if i ever attempt to write it in that meter #would it be better to wait until i know more latin write it in that and then have a version I'd translated #from that into english? or the other way around?#i have a multitude of other books im supposed to be reading a fic I'm halfway through writing #a coffin im planning to build and a painting in working also. by the way #whoever's idea it was go give me better enough mental health i had energy to do things #must be regretting that decision now this is a trainwreck of way to many projects happening at once #AND i have to finish this essay #mypost
