man I am as you all know neither a fan of sorcerers nor rogues in a vacuum per se, but if Travis did Divine Soul or Ashley did like, one of the many rogue classes I do like (Xanathar's Guide Rogue Options + Arcane Trickster 4 Lyfe though Thief can hang) I'd be so there; also ranger would be such a good fit for Sam and I'd love to see Marisha play barbarian. Also I know Laura was answering in the general class-swap au sense for Vex but I would legit love to see Laura play a paladin straight through, especially since the CR cast has yet to have a main cast paladin above L6 in-game

The great thing about this Dimension 20 season is that, as someone who does not watch drag race but who has a lot of friends who do, I can now finally provide opinions on at least some of the people they talk about. 

#Dylan says things #dimension 20 #dadq #Bob and Jujubee are my favourites so far and I think a large part of that is that they both seem into it in different ways #like Bob was really good at dnd kinda right off the bat #In her flashback she did a really good job of situating herself in the world in a way the others didn't as much #and she's killing at as a spellcaster as a first time player. which is always tougher but like. she's handling it very well #and then Jujubee just has a very fun energy and really seems to be enjoying herself which is delightful #I like Monét as well I just have less to say about her so far #Alaska I'm sure is great and she had some fun moments but especially at the beginning she didn't give much #in her flashback especially- but I can understand kinda being thrown into a heavy scene right away when you dont really know what youre doin #so I don't like hold it against her. But even beyond that I just have liked everyone else better so far

Results of Science -- Victor can Copypasto both animal treats and herbalism potions. . .but NOT Smiler's Chatterbots. The only option that comes up on them is "Inferniate." Seems like those will have to be made by hand. Still, two out of three isn't bad, and I had Victor spend quite a lot of time Copypastoing the treats and the potions to help with filling up the shelves.

Meanwhile, downstairs, Alice was continuing her adventures into milk processing with flavored milks (both single bottles and whole crates of chocolate milk), while Smiler started getting their apothecary on! As they were new to the skill and only had a limited number of ingredients on them, they ended up spamming the Synthetic Food Tablets. The animation for actually making the tablets is a little weirdly glitchy at the end (for some reason, Smiler kept turning around and facing the wrong way to react to the final shower of sparks), but it produces a nice-looking product -- I like that these bottles have proper Simlish labels! Great work, Simsonian, seriously.

Anyway -- production continued as the day wore on (occasionally naked, as you can see) -- Smiler made a few more tablets of synthetic food; Alice continued making flavored milks and various sauces; and Victor Copypastoed his way into being a Virtuoso spellcaster! :D I promptly got him the Insightful Eye (increasing experimenting and practicing speeds), Knowledge Is Magic (he reads and does things on the computer faster, and gets magical XP from them), and Frugal Combination (when he makes potions, all ingredients may not be consumed) perks, and let him take a break with a nice Deliciosoed plate of mac and cheese. :D This store is already profitable and we haven't even opened yet!

However, all that copying and pasting had left Victor feeling a bit charged up, so I figured it was time for him to change tactics and do something else -- namely, make custard! I THOUGHT he was going to go downstairs to do that, but nope, he chose to use the employee break room instead. I was initially annoyed until I discovered that making custard doesn't require a Sim to use the stove -- the stuff is just poured straight into the jar. So Victor wasn't about to go wandering up and down stairs in that way that Sims do when the AI gets confused about what activities should happen where (like when they decide to use a sink on an entirely different floor to wash their hands after using the bathroom). I decided I was fine with that and kept having him make custard...

I want to play as a different class, but is there anything truly better than a sorcerer?? how do you top the ability to cast twinned haste? to nearly guarantee hold person/hold monster? quickened spell? free constitution saving throw proficiency? damage & base armour class increase for draconic line? best wet blast comp damage dealer? spell sniper/magic initiate eldritch blast & potent robe combo? no other class does it like sorcerer does.

#bg3 #thoughts about media #I'd say the only other class genuinely comparable to sorcerer is bard. bards have a lot of good class benefits as well. #but sorcerer is just insane with how versatile and deadly it is. #if you want a spellcaster at least. If you're looking at melee I think paladin or fighter is obviously the pick. or a mixture of the two. #also: i'm thinking about tactician mode specifically. I need to research honour mode first before I really have an opinion there. #I'd imagine bard is pretty appealing for honour mode solely for its ability to get the extra short rest. #but like. you can always reclass a companion/level a hireling as one. so if they get one shot- at least the run doesn't end. #and then you'd have your tav be a melee fighter so they use heavy armour and could tank hits. #idk. I did hear someone did honour mode as a fucking DRUID. which is BANANAS to me. cause druid sucks at low level. #but like I said- research needed first. I'm probably missing something.

I love love love that we're in an age of welcoming and inclusivity when it comes to TTRPG games, as a weird loud nerd girl who could not find a goddamn table in her small mid-west hometown. Seriously.

But the current discourse, for D&D at least, seems to be having a really reactionary hate-on against people who like to play with a more strict rules-as-written style, dismissing such folk as gate-keepy.

I've got the Covid, so I'm honestly not sure what I'm trying to say here exactly, but as a "rules make games more fun" sort of nerd: Hey friends, there's tables for all of us, let's not harsh on other people's play styles.
