this isn’t to dig on ur anti zutara post but rather start a discussion.

in my experience, the reason we zutarians don’t like zukka is because of the animosity we get from the fandom. we analyze the subtle details we are given because practically every zuko and Katara interaction in the show is because all of them save the first have some degree of zutara in it. their chemistry- be it platonic or romantic- is undeniable.

and yet, we are told by zukkas and kataangers that we are wrong for shipping the ship. a lot of zukkas sideline the women in atla- sokka is given a lot of Katara’s qualities that are stated in the show (ie: people claiming that sokka is the team dad when he literally confessed that he saw Katara more as his mother than his actual mother), mailee is just there (majority of the mailee fics on ao3 are just them being a side couple in zukka fics), and not to mention comradekatara’s posts from back when they were lesbians4sokka about Katara being homophobic. even if it was a joke, it was something that people took seriously. a lot of the same zukkas are the ones making fun of katara for talking about her mother’s death when that literally happened three times outside of the southern raiders episode.

dont get me wrong, I know that the zutara fandom was absolutely rabid in the early 2000s and that’s where we get our bad reputation, but the only time that we’ve had issues with other people in the atla fandom was when they interacted with our content and it blew up.

Honestly you make some points I agree and disagree with so I'll go one paragraph at a time

I do agree that some zutirans get hate that isn't deserved. I definitely think that a lot of the fandom doesn't like zutartians, I'm part of that group as well (for the most part). I also do think they have chemistry, but more in a way that's more like family rather than lovers.

I think the over-analyzing is a bit too much, I'm overwhelmed every time I see a zutara post. Obviously, some analyzing is okay, I sometimes analyze ships, but I feel like zutartians do it sm that it feels kind of annoying?? Maybe that's just me, but I feel like you don't have to analyze things just to justify your ship. Just ship what you like

I agree with the fact that zukka shippers tend to sideline women in fics. I've def read fics where katara is sort of villanized, and I definitely don't agree with that. A lot of the time, ppl prefer MLM ships to than WLW ship, (which if you ask me, is because ppl prefer male characters to female ones (*cough* misogyny *cough*)(though i dont think most of the misogyny is purposely done)) m 6

Idk if it's bc we're in different parts of the fandom, but I've never really seen ppl say that shipping zutara is wrong?? I've seen ppl say they don't like it, and why, but they always state that they don't care if people ship zutara and that they're only stating reasons they personally don't like it.

Perhaps it's because I tend to stay away from the more toxic part of the community because if I see smth I don't like I more often than not just scroll past. But I def believe that their are zukkas who are toxic, but I think some of that is just because ppl are toxic, no matter what fandom you're in.

I can't really speak on kataangers because while I do like the ship, I'm not really in that part of the fandom, so I'm not sure if ppl are unnecessarily mean to zutarians.

(Edit: nvm kataangers can be real assholes, I def believe that they're unnecessarily mean to ppl who dont ship kataang 😒😒)

As for the zutara Fandom in the early 2000s I can't really speak on that bc I didnt watch atla until I wanna say 2017 or 2018. So I don't really know what the fandom was like.

So yeah, that's kinda my take?? Idk I spent like a good while trying to figure out what to say 🤧🤧

now...if we can rem(ember) what i wrote at the very ( rock ) bottom of an origin story ask that i answered like a bajillion years ago, i tried to make an Crucial distinction abt the identity of ex-cd guitarist ( scott malkinson ), who during side a of rm!part three ( aka the part of the flashbacks that feature our favorite messy band boys pre-cd, being broke boys and doing drunk degen things together ), we learned was god's sweet angel, a bespeckled, glasses-wearing, awkward nerd boy king. as well as the only og non-musician of the c.d. boys who stan, ofc, taught how to play guitar, so he could b in their silly band.

which BLEW UP one day after they were scouted by...Tenorman Records...v interesting name, yeah? ;) and were hot boy franksteined into the og lineup of crimson dawn...where sweet scott became...

which i blame COMPLETELY on the boys having to be made over and made into whatever little overblown rockstar caricatures management and specifically their Manager wanted them in.

i would say kenny was the least doctored or altered by management because they already had that bde, punk rock star quality about them, tbh, the only thing the label really did was put the skeleton mask muzzle on ken and shove our fave secretly immortal bassist to alll the way to the back, bc while they def had the innate charisma and celebrity influence to carry cd, kenny was unpredictable and a liability, stan also had The Voice & was a lot easier to manipulate. </3

after them, jimmy was probably the second least altered by tenorman records because jimbabwe was mostly just meant to fill a disability quota with the cerebral palsy and everything, he's mainly in the back with his hard asf emo-boy drum kit, but he's more Prop than person.

okay, oddly enough, rae is actually NOT the most made over member in cd because he was already our emo boy halloween king and Super stoked to be a rock star. like the person taking care of ravenstan ( and kenny sometimes ) was seriously worried about even sending the boys off to LA to Pursue Their Passion bc, lbr, it was...pretty dangerous given ~stan's little situation~ ( aka literally faking his identity and bEING IN HIDING AFTER COMITTING ARSON AND ACCIDENTALLY MURDERING SHELLEY ) plus...it's just hard to make it big in some unforgiving city as musicians. Period.

but they...did it!

but at what cost? bc...

i will say however, that stan was definitely...coerced into doing The Raven Thing because it directly conflicts with his gentler, more soft-spoken personality, my man has literally no rhythm...like, at all...and stan actually does get pretty bad stage fright, so being the guy up front was pretty nerve wracking just bc he's not really built like that.

but you know!!! he was excited!!! being a rock star, being famous and the glitz, the glamor and grandeur of everything!!! it's all very shiny. but all that glitters is not gold my friends...and heavy ( metal ) is the head that wears the the light up kraken kitty gamer headset, lmao.

moving on to lovely...lovely scotty, who, sigh, definitely had the most Drastic and seemingly fantastic transformation. because wearing gpa glasses, thrift store sweaters, old navy jeans and reciting multi-syllable medical terminology doesn't exactly scream Sexy.

quite frankly, it practically whispers, which is great when you're in the Library...but that doesn't really rock and roll with the punk rock image cd was supposed to curate so...they made scott...

into Thot.

appearance wise, they retired the grandpa glasses and gave scott contacts, they styled his hair and kept it short ( rip the middle part ), changed his WHOLE wardrobe ( but instead of them being like raven you can't keep wearing cringey, sriracha stained anime tee-shirts, the big baggy pants and being a nasty, disgusting, boy. you, have to be HOT, lmao, they told scott something similar but it was more along the lines of scott, you can't look like a librarian, you have to look like you shred electric guitar in the biggest punk rock band in the world ) so sweaters were sleeveless shirts, his lowly sensible slacks became designer, they put ice on his wrists and made him

...Cool.

which would be less important if he were in the back like ken and jimjam, but as the lead guitarist of cd, he had to be in the front next to Raven, which meant he had to be almost as cool as raven...

almost.

because ravenstan was the front man of crimson dawn...

and scott was just the guy to his right.

which is where everything went wrong.

because raven was a personality that, like the little pants, came on when they curtain came up, but immediately came off/were replaced with a pair of giant hole-y sweatpants once he was backstage and nursing himself back to health w/ several strong shots of whiskey.

now, scott too was asked to put on a show, play up his hotshot, rockstar persona for the cameras...but long after the show was over...that mask never came off. stan rushed off stage and ripped that fishnet shirt off his body like it was made of barbed wire, but conversely, scott dreaded going from hero to zero...so he just didn't.

fame & fortune devoured our dear boy and just like that...

scott became thot.

permanently.

but before i get into this next part, i just want to say that i am a scott apologist; i understand why he did the things he did and was the way he was. again, being a celebrity is to be changed. and damaged. the weight of the world is ten times as heavy as a hundred of his pre-med textbooks. which he tossed in the TRASH, btw!!!

he stopped perusing his dream to become a nightmare...smh. but i digress, scott spent his life shoved into lockers, made fun of, kept small. people were calling him names and now they were calling his name. nay, thousands upon thousands Screaming his name!!! they loved him, they worshipped him. and to someone who had never once been popular before. the feeling was as amazing...

as it was addictive.

because, again, their sweet scott was absorbed by thot...

and Thot Malkinson was a Diva. a messy manwhoring menace. a punk rock primadonna. he ordered all the makeup people around, fought for the spotlight, acted a fool & started drama Everywhere. he was obsessed with his image, and i mean Obsessed. he actually...sigh.

Went Back Into The Closet And Pretended To Be STRAIGHT to avoid backlash. he dated tons of girls, lots of celebrities, mostly to spite jimmy which was...a mess. ( i will talk about them in another post this post is so fucking long ) but he was generally being a massive d-bag with an even massiver ( ? ) ego.

tldr; the boys were getting Fed Up.

because more than just blowing them off to do photoshoots and interviews without them/talk heeellla smack, he was acting like he was better than them. he made a lot of jokes about leaving the band which...weren't funny. and being at rae's right side was starting to rlly fuck w/ scott and made him feel inferior. bc he wanted to be the star.

he wanted to be the front man.

& he thought that stan was being super ungrateful for not taking his role as the face of the band seriously wHEN HE NEVER WANTED TO BE THE FACE OF THE BAND!!! HE WAS FORCED TO DO IT!!! AAAA!

but anyways, scott was super jealous of stan's success and started to seriously resent him. he was making these really snide comments under his breath, tripping stan on stage with the amp cords n shit, playing Super Loud over his voice. like??? HELLO??? he literally pierced his nose Days after stan pierced his??? the petty olympics!

and it's even worse if you consider that stan and scott were TIGHT once upon a time. like stan was the person who'd initially showed scott the most kindness ( even more so them jimmy i think, who was put off by scott’s uptightness ) bc rae’s a weird awkward king who, ok, does fit in bc he's pretty but then just Sticks Out back out bc he is literally the world's biggest boyfail bi disaster who openly rebels against tradition.

so he gets the Struggle! he really does...as a result, stan took scott under his wing & spent a lot of time with him because ravenstan taught scott how to play guitar and was probably the most patient of the boys. kenny's very abrasive, jimmy fucks around too much, but stan is just very sweet & nuturing, he won't get mad at you. my bb.

stan AND scott were actually my awkward, soft boy babies before the fuckboyification of scott into thot, they also had a really special bond because scott was the only one of the other og three crimson boys...

who could speak spanish. <3

that was very nostalgic and comforting to stan because after the fire...speaking spanish kind of died with shelley, so stan had no one he could regularly correspond with in spanish...

( ok, obviously, when stan was working with his waitering jobs pre!cd he had some homies/coworkers he could speak spanish to, but, tbh, it wasn't super frequent and was more for utility helpful bilingual boy communication purposes -- in rm!flashbacks!p3 there is a very important waiter adjacent job stan worked that i was gonna talk abt in a diff chapter, but, what the hell? i love spoiler heaven. u can ask. )

...but he had scott...with whom he regularly Shot The Shit.

like, oh my gooooood, when i tell you stan and scott were being chismosos 25/8, smh, jimmy and kenny were ready to fight. this was cute, ofc, but the cutest part was that...scott had a crush on a boy.

who he needed to talk to someone about.

but kenny and scott were never really close. being immortal and basically an eldritch god means that he's definitely been around the block, met some very colorful characters and as a result, is a very good judge of it.

and scott, of course, is a good person.

stan actually calls scotty "the best of them" in rm8 and was well loved and treasured by all of the crimson boys -- but kenny had always gotten a...weird feeling about scott in the back of his mind. like something about him was off...like he might betray them.

but because of that personal dissonance scott wasn't super comfortable confideing in kenny, he couldn't very well talk to jimmy about his crush...ON JIMMY, so that left stan who was paitent and kind, whose ear, while intimidatingly pierced and decked out with pentagrams and things, was a very kind ear, indeed.

stan was very receptive and receptive of that sensitive information ( as a sensitive boy ) and regularly corresponded with scott about it in ~stannish- bc they couldn’t very well let the other guys hear it, right? so they’d chat away, giggling behind their hands, scott whispering scandalous goss in stan’s ear ft. the ravenstan signature santa puta madre de guadalupe & the corresponding no me digaaa sancho!

i also think stan called scott sancho por las risas.

the boys also used to call stan Stanteria because they put sublime on the bro haus playlist for when they’re kicking back on friday nights after scotts done with class/working in the OR and whenever it comes on, it’s freaking modelo time, aka time to crack a cold one with the boys, who clinking beers with their fingers covered in cheesy poof dust and fkn lime and chamoy cross faded af shouting i dON’T PRACTICE ~STANTERIA~; I AINT GOT NO CRYSTAL BAAALL!! WELL I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS BUT I’D!! I'D SPEND IT ALLL!”

anyways, an important part of these discussions, or rather, discrushions is that stan…was never told the identity of the boy scott had a crush on. i’m laffing but they def did that thing you do in elem/middle school when you have a crush on someone and you give them a silly code name so no one knows who you’re talking abt ( i am not sure what the code name for jimmy was but i’m sure it has v shit takin school boy chismoso energies smh, but never said his name.

I read ur tags about the new ST masks and honestly, I agree, it's very different (very Slipknot and gore-ish) and right now, the discography and overall vibe doesn't match(like a handful of songs have a true metal quality to it) and unless they're gonna start releasing new stuff the vibes kind of...clash? And so far Vessel is the same, so I'm wondering if the others just wanted to stand out more and were given creative freedom or if everything is going to shift at some point :/ I also think its a bit been there done that (but the simpler black and gold mask I like) the others remind me of the Joker or a Shrunken Head

Thank you for the ask anon! To be honest, I saw 'I read it tags about the new ST mask...' and I panicked thinking I was about to get left-right-goodnighted in an ask, but I'm glad it wasn't so, lol.

Further, I'm glad someone agrees with me. I said what I said in my tags on twt and within the hour I had 20+ people in my replies quote tweeting me saying how I 'wasn't a proper fan for not liking the change', how I 'should leave and stop listening if I was going to be negative', and (my personal favourite because it was so absurd) 'you're so one of the people that found them through TikTok. Good to have a cleanse of the fandom if you were only here because you have a mask kink'.

Even had someone tell me to off myself! Which was, y'know, lovely. I don't have any screenshots because I was just sat there trying to figure out how to reply to them, then saw the one that told me to off myself and just had a little overwhelmed cry and deleted the tweet, in which I then got tagged in a now deleted tweet calling me a pussy. You are so loved my ass.

I deleted it because it made me feel really shit about myself (for obvious reasons), but it made me feel more shit when I woke up the next day seeing people say the same things I did (like hoping it was only a Wembly thing, but considering the amount of detail and effort that's been put into those outfits and masks, I think not), and getting nothing but acceptance and neutrality in the replies. I'm not particularly popular on twt since people are fond of copy and pasting my post about Euclid, not giving credits, blocking me when I ask them to, and when their mutuals see that I'm blocked by them they just have at me for no reason, but I think it says a lot about a fandom if they can go from getting everyone to hold up a three for iii at the concerts out of pure adoration to telling someone to off themselves because they don't like the new designs. (sorry for the rant about twt anon)

I'll repeat what I said in my tags; they feel very out of place to me. Again, maybe it's just the fact I'm used to the balaclavas since I've been around here for a while, so all I've really known is Vessel's custom mask and the collective of balaclavas, but they just don't match. They stick out more than Vessel does, both design and colour pallet wise. Vessel is in full black with white accents and a white, red and gold mask, the Esperas are in full black with white accents and a red mask. And then the guys are there, y'know? Don't get me wrong, the amount of detail and effort that's been put into the designs are amazing, and they definitely have to have given each member creative freedom because each mask and design matches the lad's vibe immaculately (especially iii's), but it doesn't match Sleep Token's vibe as a collective. I like IV's design best because his matches his stage presence and ST's vibe (as you said, the simpler gold and black mask), as well as ii's (minus the hair).

I think maybe the hair on ii's and iii's masks in general are throwing me off lol.

Furthermore, Sleep Token's only full on trad metal songs are Gods from Sundowning and Vore from TMBTE, so I got really surprised when I was basically looking at Slipknot masks curated for Sleep Token. ST are known to genre bend constantly, so maybe we will get new stuff. But, considering they've had the same vibe in their music since 2016, I'd be a bit surprised if their new single/new album was just all trad metal, or at least has a lot of aspects of it, but who knows! Maybe change for them is inevitable.

I think it's well known on this blog that the passing of time and change in literally anything is my mortal enemy so seeing this kind of randomly happen gave me whiplash. I don't think I can love the new designs as much as I loved the old balaclavas, but that doesn't mean I don't like Sleep Token anymore, y'know? All I can really do is apologise for having a non super positive opinion and hope people don't hound me on here for it (which, so far, they haven't, and I appreciate you very much for being really chill about this anon). Give me a week and I'll probably be on the boat of liking them and making analysis posts on all the little details, lol

ppl always say that you are most like and drawn to your most significant yoni animals but i cant honestly say that's been the case? my asc and ak are both of the cat yoni animals but i've never felt an affinity for cats. i hated them growing up (my mom hated them and drilled that into my head; kind of ironic bc she's a tiger yoni lol) but over time i've just grown into indifference towards them

i do feel that i look and act like them, however. and i'm often compared to them but i just don't feel strongly abt them and then at some point i did straight up hate them. they are weirdly drawn to me though i will say; i just dont reciprocate. why do you think that may have been the case astrologically? i was thinking affliction could lead to that but neither of those placements are afflicted

also what about feeling an affinity for animals that aren't present in your chart at all? i love rabbits! however i dont have anuradha in either d1 or d9 - well it is my indu lagna but i doubt that makes it relevant enough. i was thinking maybe i feel the way i do bc im a rat yoni (my primary one) and there is behavioral overlap between the animals i feel

tbh ive never felt any affinity for any of my yoni animals in any of my charts. i also just dont really feel drawn to any animals as such?? maybe bc ive never had a pet of my own (my mom has a few stray cats and im so scared of them lol). but anywaayyys, i think its very normal to feel that way?? you dont have to be drawn to your yoni animals?? like are people drawn to snakes, rats and mongoose just because they have them in their chart?? 😂😂 i personally like honeybees and spiders (not the actual creatures but what they represent ish??) and no nakshatra has those creatures as part of its myth or yoni animal.

i dont know if there is an explanation for every single thing we feel or vibe with. your question is a really good one, dont get me wrong but ive never really noticed a correlation beyond the behavioural aspect of yoni animals. maybe some people feel strongly connected to their yoni animals because they strongly identify with their charts?? i think if you're on a spiritual path, you sort of transcend the influence of the planets and naks and chart your own destiny (this is something spiritual gurus and astrologers in india say) and i think that means losing your identification or attachment with whats present in your chart.

your chart points towards your tendencies, habits or patterns. things we are subconsciously drawn to but the more we become conscious of our nature, the more we move with awareness, the less stubborn our attachment to ideas of "I" and "me" become. its kind of similar to Ketu's energy and Ketu is considered wonderful for spiritual pursuits. yk how Ketuvians don't really know who they are or don't strongly identify with anything? this natural state can be destabilizing bc Ketuvians will swing between different extremes out of this "not knowing" but a stable healthy positive manifestation of Ketuvian energy means you know enough about what your qualities are but you dont strongly identify with the material realm (houses, cars, fashion trends, clothes, social media etc)

hello ! you're unfortunately asking the wrong person, friend :( i could talk to you all you want about how unfair it is that argyle is given a grand total of 0% of backstory (he doesn't even have a last name), or how he's decidedly playing a stereotype (with the slight subversion of him being actually very smart emotionally and when it comes to finding solutions to their problems, but that gets treated as a joke nonetheless), or how he's treated more as a plot device than anything (the duffs needed a way to get the byers + mike out of california).

but that's as far as my insight goes :(

i do not live in the us. i was born and raised in mexico and have lived here my whole life and thus, my experience is inherently different from that of the people who lived in the us in the 80s (like argyle) and even today. i have no context of what it's like to live as a latin american individual in a country that inherently assumes you're there illegally. i do not know the mockery that would come from having a heavy accent or slipping into spanish terms and slang from time to time. i do not know what it's like to have others immediately assume you fit into the stereotypes argyle showcases. my experience with all of these factors is second handed and as such, i can't offer anything to the conversation that others haven't pointed out already (other than maybe offering a reminder that these are the things argyle would be going through in the background).

not only that, but i don't even look like argyle in the slightest so i can't relate to that either. i've been mocked, bullied and harassed my whole life for a variety of reasons (speech impediment, hearing impairment, queer, trans,,,) but never because of the colour of my skin; never for having specific facial features attributed to latin american people (even if my heritage is not too different from that of your average mexican). other than some random girl who used to call me a vampire in high school (which i obviously took as a compliment because vampires are cool), no one has really ever had anything to say about my appearance and while racism / xenophobia is not just about looks, it's the first thing icky people notice and focus on and, in my case, not something they would initially pick up on.

now, my brother does look a lot like argyle. he has a similar nose and eyes and his skin colour is almost the same (if not a shade or two darker) so maybe he'd have something to say about seeing himself represented on screen in such poor quality. but a) he doesn't watch stranger things so he's got nothing to say about any of that, and b) he's the type to not mind stereotypes or jokes made at our expense.

beyond a slight eyeroll at silly, exaggerated portrayals, he (and most of the people in my city, so it's almost a cultural thing) really has nothing to say about seeing aforementioned stereotypes on screen.

so uh, yeah. nothing to add to the conversation beyond a reminder to listen to people who can actually relate to argyle's experience (whatever it is, because we didn't see any of it x.x) because of his features and his experience living in the us as a latin american individual.

the one thing i can say that we can all agree on is that the duffs don't know how to write bipoc characters, particularly black people (who have onscreen been subjected to implicit and explicit racism and violence and gotten nothing as a result, not even acknowledgement let alone some form of catharsis or justice -_- ), and that argyle was an afterthought brought only into the show to have some comedic relief, move forward a few plot points, and pay homage to whatever 80s californian films the duffs grew up watching >.<

(which again, anyone could tell you so this whole word salad is technically for naught u.u figured i owed you a nuanced response, though, so here it is)

anyway, apologies that my answer is lackluster and doesn't bring up anything of substance to the current debates people are having about the show :( hope you have a great day or night ~

yes, i legitimately do want to fuck him and even made a whole discord server like 2 years ago for other ppl who wanna fuck him lmao (but i've been into him for like. at least 4 years now) and i dunno if you're asking as someone who has or hasn't watched DS9, but he's one of those characters you kinda have to see in action and really get to know in order to really understand his appeal, pictures and gifs alone just don't really do him justice he starts off as the sleazy perverted little shitty bastard character (and never stops being that) but you get to see pretty quickly that he's actually not so bad of a guy and that he really cares about the ppl close to him despite his general selfishness. he's flirty, he’s fun, he's funny, he's ridiculously charismatic, extremely dramatic, he has the best and most varied wardrobe in the whole show, he wears eyeshadow, he’s bisexual, and he’s a pathetic little guy who starts cowering and screaming at the first sign of trouble lmao (but he can be pretty brave when it really counts) but tbh a huge part of what really makes him sexy to ppl is the way he carries himself. his body language, his expressions, the way he speaks, etc., he’s extremely expressive. he’s got swag. and on top of all that, he literally does get laid like. all the time. so you know he’s experienced and that he’s legitimately desirable to others in canon. not only that, but he’s got a very obvious thing for dominant women (and as a bisexual man myself, i'm with him on that lmao), he’s been confirmed by one of the writers to be a bottom (no joke he literally said this. but like. as if it wasn’t already obvious y’know), and he’s even alluded to being into getting tied up on more than one occasion, among other things. he’s kind of unnecessarily open about his kinks, which is fine by me personally 🤷‍♀️ he’s a VERY horny character. he’s literally meant to be sexy whether or not someone personally finds him attractive. they decided to make the wrinkly little big-eared freak the sluttiest character in the show and possibly in the entirety of star trek and to that i say hell yeah man, why not but anyway, another thing i wanna add (and trust me this is still relevant and not just because i love quodo) is that his 10+ years long weird homoerotic rivalry with odo is both very funny and extremely poignant. they act like enemies a lot of the time, but they’re actually very close, even if odo can’t admit it. quark considers odo his best friend and genuinely cares about him. he’s been there for him many times when no one else was. he’s defended him, he’s helped him without expecting anything in return, he’s given him gifts, he’s even dragged him up a mountain in the freezing cold to save his life. that kind of love and dedication to someone, even if he doesn’t get the same in return, is a very endearing quality of his character, even if it is unfortunate. he doesn’t give up on the ppl he loves, no matter how “un-ferengi” it is of him to care so much uhh i could go on and on and on about him and there’s definitely things i’m forgetting to mention, but basically he’s a very good and entertaining character. and i’ve said this before but tbh when i started watching DS9, i literally could not have predicted that i’d be this into him or even attracted to him in the slightest, like i knew he’d be my favorite but the “oh no he’s actually kinda sexy” feeling really snuck up on me and that seems to be the case for most ppl who are into him. he really grows on you and then before you know it, you and your friends are on discord talking about how much you all wanna fuck him on a daily basis lmao 🤷‍♀️ anyway i don’t know how to end this ask. quark is hot

I don't encounter a lot of people and also I'm very picky and I've fallen into the trap of just thirsting after unattainable people because it's "safe". But like ... it also breaks my heart? 19: Would you go back in time if you were given the chance? Yes. Absolutely yes even though everyone's like no don't do it you wouldn't be who you are today without those mistakes blah blah blah but absolutely 100% yes. I would be more outgoing, wouldn't give a shit, I'd spend more quality time with my grandparents, I'd see if maybe I could get my dad to chill or maybe not idk, I'd spend more time with my friend Lauran who passed when I was 12 and I'd call her back even though I didn't like talking on the phone. I'd ask Scott out on a date, very definitely flirt more with him in high school and if I couldn't go back that far I'd go back to the last time I saw him when he hugged me outside Wawa and I'd hold onto him so tightly, memorize his strength and his smell and his warmth on that cold morning before the sun came up and I'd make plans with him even if he was still going to die 8 months later.

That made me sad lmao but it's all true and from my Grinch heart.

Tomorrow there will be panic cleaning and panic gift wrapping because Kate's aunt and uncle want to come over for a tiny pre-Christmas Christmas because Kate has to work on Actual Christmas so we'll do some gifts and we have to send our gifts for Kate's brother and sister in law and niece and nephew with said aunt and uncle for Actual Christmas. And the house is a nightmare cuz I can't keep up with housework and also FOUR PETS MAKE A LOTTA STUFF HAPPEN. Then Sunday I'll be probably just like ... hanging out and wrapping Kate's presents that I didn't already give her oops and likely playing Stardew Valley a bit and making some nonsense for dinner lol

I KNOWWWWW NAOMI AHHHHHH i was hoping so hard. i was hoping that the constant events in og obey me would be to keep the app alive for those who wanted it and that nightbringer would focus on the story. but??? now there's no point to keeping og obm up if they both have the same events at the same time?? and how are we supposed to focus on the story if they release new chapters on the same day events start??

it feels like they were aware that their clunky writing, insane difficulty spike and constant barrage of events killed og obm and chased people away, and they acknowledged that by scrapping the whole thing and retconning everything so they could have a fresh start (which is a sucky way of doing things but i was willing to let bygones be bygones!!! we were willing to look past that!!), AND THEN they insulted us by doing the exact same thing right out the gate with NB. at least if you get stuck on lessons before you can level up your cards, you can skill your way to barely getting a C with a big enough combo....

god. GOD. I'm going to stick around for a little bit and see what happens but i've gotta be honest this is not sparking any joy

and i HATE to be like this. i don't wanna just complain all the time. i missed solomon and lucifer and belphie (and everyone else but those are my main three) SO MUCH. i had so much genuine fun with obey me and i was so interested and passionate in the characters. but the constant content STRESSES ME OUT. like. i understand games need to make money and they need something to drive microtransactions, but we've been saying for years (i think) how obey me is pushing out too much too fast and too low a quality. and they're still doing it!!!!!!

and somebody pointed this out in the tags of my post i think but without otaku boot camp or solomon's summoning sale it's...kinda hard to level up cards. and what are they going to do about the harder lessons if half the devil's tree is locked behind skill levels and they're so stingy with their UR+ jokers? i'd understand making them RARE but there should at least be a slightly easier way to get them. or more raven given out so you actually have a chance at buying them.

obey me has done this thing where it stops just shy of punishing you for not paying money to play the game. like yeah you can play and get enjoyment out of the game for free, but good luck getting a single UR fully levelled up ever. have fun ever getting beyond the 7,000 mark in events. in the very first NB event, the top place got 7 MILLION points. I had a cheat card and played as many levels as i could every day and only got to around 13,000. plus, their fanbase is theoretically bigger than ever! their whole placing system is not fit for a fandom of this caliber. I'm not saying they should make it easier to get first place, but like. it's ridiculous how impossible it is to do anything 100% unless you cough up some cash.

anyway. i went on a way longer rant then i meant to. i'm so disheartened tbh like i didn't expect MUCH but i was hoping they were using this as a learning experience. now i know they were just hoping to get some people to pay two VIP fees for the price of keeping a single app up to date.

There is more to this issue than just 'respect as an actor'.

To answer your first question, it is true that in order to be respected as an actor one must shed the idol image. All the trappings of that image - flashy outfits, colored hair, etc. tend to be associated with idols, and for the sake of career longevity idols who want to build careers as serious actors need to shed that image.

Disclaimer: My opinion based on my limited understanding of the industry in DD's region.

Issue 1: Idol Image

Idols are seen as shallow and often talentless - chosen more for their beauty and their massive fanbases than for any skill they may have. They also have a lot of negative associations due to the behavior of their often crazy, out of control fans.

Idols are also associated with youth, and as such their careers have a very finite shelf life. Fans only want an idol around as long as they stay relevant, young, fashionable and beautiful. Once they begin to age and mature and a bunch of new, fresher faces come along the idol will be dumped (often amidst scathing, cruel criticism).

So all these things you want for DD, they're not things that are best for him or his career. He's taken a path of transitioning into a serious film actor, and any idol associations he still has clinging to him will only drag him down and lead to him not being taken seriously by movie producers, film critics and the general public.

Issue 2: Government Policy

There is actually written government policy that condemns and bans this type of fashion for men. I've written about it in more detail in the past so I'll just link those posts here:

Queer men being chosen for nationalistic projects

So even if he wasn't trying to shed the idol image, he wouldn't be able to explore fashion the way he's always seemed to enjoy. And I think that if it weren't for this policy we would definitely still be seeing a little bit of that fashion experimentation from him. Alas! 😞

Issue 3: Scarcity

We haven't seen enough from DD lately to even get a glimpse of what his fashion would be like. Soon! He's been very busy filming, but the coming months are going to be a lot more DD-filled. His birthday is coming up, he's going to be in the Yuehua Family concert, SDOC5 will be airing, supposedly BAH will be airing and some of his film projects will be airing soon, so we'll likely see him in press and promos for that stuff as well.

But given the other two issues, the outfits he'll be wearing will almost certainly be more restrained than many of us would prefer.

I hate to disappoint on the outfit front, but my favorite look from DD is and will likely always be this one from SDOC3:

As for your question, oh my god its so perfect you asked that cuz I was literally gonna make a textpost about this today 😭💖💖💖 Tbh the way I first caught interest and fell for Ralph may be one of my favorite ways I've fallen for an f/o... What happened was in early April 2021, when I was still living with my parents we had lost Wifi and cable for like an entire day and by hour 5 I was starting to get pretty anxious, so I looked to my shelf to find a movie to watch to satiate the boredom. Lo and behold, on the shelf I spotted Wreck-it Ralph and I was like "awww hell yeah I haven't seen this movie in YEARS, it's time for a rewatch", so that's the one I ended up popping in the Blu Ray player.

Throughout my entire rewatch, of course I was enjoying it a ton and getting super nostalgic but I wasn't quite feeling anything romantic-wise, until one scene- no, not even one scene but one shot, one particular way that Ralph smiled that literally made time STOP and made me go "oh. Oh noooooo this is LOVE 😳💘💘💘". He got added to my f/o list two days later 😂💖💖💖

As for your other question, omg first of all can you imagine a dating sim spinoff of a survival horror like Undead Apocalypse 3? I'd buy it 😂 ANYWAYS, I haven't played too many dating sims or life sims where you can romance people so I don't really know how they work ehehe, but I think Dr. Redblood would be easily wooed by the player character joining her for quality research or experiment time, complimenting her intelligence or gifting her some new beakers and the like :3 Ralph, I think, wouldn't need as much tangible stuff as much as he just would need quality time and reassurance he's loved 🥺💖 No one's really given him much of anything tbh, so I'm sure even the simplest and cliche of gifts would mean the world to him! 🥺💖💖💖

My thoughts on their unique characterization/interpretation of their muse(s): And now for my insecurities. Lol. Always think I should be more developed, more organized, and consistent.

My thoughts on their writing style as a whole: Balanced hopefully. Keeping that emotional realism but also free to keep it fun.

Situation(s)/Plot(s) I’d love to see their muse(s) in: Imma scream about the U.mbrella A.cademy verse for Eira forever. Also I want Soulmate AUs, fake dating plots, found family (including slow burn with the other "parent") plots. Also getting back into the mutant verse. And just in general making more verses. And!! More plots that arcs for my muses in relation to each other. Would love to explore something further for them. Also! Survival plots like zombie apocalypse or escaping a game/reality/time/death loop.

It actually kinda sucks for me! But in terms of being a good writing partner, I try to pay attention. Ask questions others might not. Send posts that remind me of their muse. Adapt to a similar style. Just. Be thinking of you and your muse.

What I Think Are Their Strengths: Plotting intra-muse things. For myself and other multiple muse writers. So I’ve been told. It is my favorite thing to do.

A Memorable OOC Interaction Of Ours: The time I realized that my muses didn’t have to be from a real place. I could just make up a place and not worry about accuracy. Really love myself for that one

Why Others Should RP With Them: Bc I said pls? lol Because they want to of course. They see something they like and wanna be a part of, doing something together.

How Others Should Approach Them: I think it’s generally accepted that memes are the way to go. But given how many times I wanna start on a clean slate, it’d be good to have a solid idea for first meeting and the general direction the interaction / relationship will go. So I’d love to plot that initially. That gives me something to fall back on. Especially because we’ve settled on a muse of mine you wanna interact with. It’d also be awesome if you approached first. Even if that’s just sending a meme.

Other Roleplayers I’d Recommend To Them: The ones I haven’t written with! Or haven’t in a while! Or didn’t really get the ball rolling! SO MUCH IS HAPPENING!!! it has the same build as maniac, felix in the first chorus and then hyunjin in the second, verses of raps weaved expertly between each other, a strange sweetness in the oddity that the last album branded them with. there's so much story in the song, the concept of investigation and crime and this chase that this unexplainable emotion is spurring them into. this song has SURPRISES! literally, the BOOM & BANGS!!! the police sirens!!!! changbin's "can i be your boyfriend" & "no cap" have not left my brain!! other honorable mentions: chan's abcdefg?? SEUNGMIN'S BRIDGE???? anyway it has wormed its way onto my top5 fav skz title tracks <3

there's nostalgia to this song? i have no idea where it comes from, maybe it's from an old kpop song or another skz track.... and there's a saxophone??? like HUH WHAT WOW?? jisung's tracks (even though i can't name others specifically lol) seem to have a dreamy quality to them, the lo-fi sound making them perfect for drives with ur windows down. like, i think this is a good song to show to a non-kpop or skz listener? it's solid! the music! the vocals!! it's actually a breakup song & even without really knowing what the lyrics are, there's a bittersweetness to the performance that gives u sentimentality? The Vibes are Immaculate

3. give me your TMI

whoever the FUCK is in the chorus as background vocals, we need to SPEAK. it's funky garage noise!! it's background music for a heist!!!! changbin's intro rap reminds me of the impression that thunderous left on me, the dude just spitting & me going wild with it. he literally can go "ding dong daeng" for 3hrs straight & i'd listen to it. also, i can't believe this song is 2YRS OLD?? IN THE LAPTOP FOR THAT LONG??? so the whole point is "I Am Curious About You" & it just. HITS. it WORKS. like what is GOING ON with this song?? it might be my fav off the album solely for how confused it makes me feel. AND THE BRIDGE?!!!! i am a SUCKER for a bridge that slows it down with honey vocals (2min, i'm aching for u) KIM SEUNGMIN HAS MY WHOOOOOOOOLE HEART

4. super board

completely candid i am not a fan of this type of sound :| it's not my style, where there's less melody in favor of more noise (no shade but think nct127). but it's still a fun song!!! the nyooom is so silly to me; there's a playfulness to it that fits the album!! it's like a dialed back version of cheese, if that makes sense? it's literally for skaters. this is definitely the most experimental of the tracks & maybe it'll grow more on me? who knows lmao

5. 3racha

"1 2 3 racha get spotlight" WOW this is just 3min 28sec of 3racha bragging & i lie down at their feet for that. Good For Them! before maxident dropped i've been obsessed with heyday & whatever "i'm stacking EXP just like a mountain" means. and the DRRRR POW noise. and that bed squeaking noise that has an actual term that i can never FUCKING REMEMBER... ANYWA 3RACHA SUPREMACY.,..,.,, producer trio doing the MOST! i love how chan raps in english, gets to do witty play on words just like binsung can in korean, being AUSSIE AS HELL. iconic lines: "my boys spittin' facts they locked & loaded" & "y u mad brah?" *gunshots* *dies*

6. taste

seeing red lights ot8 made listening to this song make me go, oh. it isn't-- this song isn't quite a sequel to red lights, which is more desperate & dark imo. this song is taunting, inviting. this song exudes a certain ambience that is, to put it simply, sensually sexual. dimly lit bedroom with rose petals scattered everywhere you can see. which yknow. yeah. what the fuck can i say. what the fuck. skz what the fuck.

7. can't stop

this is aftercare after 3racha & taste, which i agree to wholeheartedly. i'm literally crying listening to this song, which by no means is a song to cry to! it's so sweet!! i love vocalracha!! i love that they chose to showcase themselves in this upbeat, cute & wholesome confession song!!! don't get me wrong about the angsty ballads; they have a time & place but WE NEED A SONG OF PURE JOY & EXCITEMENT IN THIS ALBUM!!! AND THIS IS IT!!!!!!!!!!!! frolicking through meadows sort of vibe at the end of a coming-of-age kdrama movie. i'm still crying.

8. circus (krn ver)

i loved this song in japanese & that rings true for the korean version too!!! it throws me off hearing it in a language i'm more familiar with since i've had the original version on repeat lol i don't normally listen to kpop group's japanese releases but this was an exception! i love all the elements of the circus they build into the song, the animals, the fire, the fanfare, the lyric painting with the iconic carny tune... geez this song is so GOOD for WHAT
