45 anni fa, il 26 aprile 1977, apriva la discoteca più famosa al mondo, lo STUDIO 54. Praticamente tutte le celebrità del periodo andarono una sera a ballare nell'ex studio televisivo, alcuni diventarono clienti abituali - Andy Warhol, Liza Minnelli, lo stilista Halston, la principessa Diane von Fürstenberg, lo scrittore Truman Capote, altri facevano viaggi intercontinentali solo per esserci una sera, come la principessa Grace di Monaco. Tra gli italiani frequentatori ci furono Fellini, gli stilisti Fiorucci e Valentino. L'intuizione di Steve Rubell, socio del club con Ian Schrager, fu quella di far ballare nella stessa pista operai e star di Hollywood. Famigerata la zona balconata, antesignana delle moderne dark room, ma dove la luce era presente e illuminava uno sconsiderato uso di droghe e scene di sesso esplicito ed occasionale. We started with my one of my faves @ruinart to kick off the meal, then enjoyed into Milk Bread, Pacific Hamachi, Kusshi Oysters, Beet Salad, Tandoor Carrots, Cauliflower Tandoor, Greek Orata, Dry Aged Duck, Dry Aged Bone-In Ribeye, Onion Rings, and for dessert, the Gooseberry Phyllo Pizza.
