Usually yes!! I love getting comments from my readers and I want them to know I appreciate it. if i don't reply it's usually because i think the comment is strange/rude or i just dont know what to say lol

def love me (and leave me to die) but it was hard to pick bc tbh im the angst queen (TOTK SPOILERS IN THIS FIC!!)

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

HyMart i'm going to pick this one because its happy all around and tbh idk what fic of mine is necessarily "happy" or has an ending that isnt streaked with tragedy or pain in some way whoops

8. Do you get hate on fics?

not that i remember but ive gotten like. weird passive aggressive comments

i write SO MUCH fade to black because writing smut is way too weird for me... like i get embarrassed just typing certain words LOL (reading it is another story...)

Yes!!! I love to collab with my friends and @zelzenik and i are literally an unstoppable force when we write together. when we combine our powers nothing can stop us

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

probably my Post-SkSw fic for my Aftermath series . I have restarted this fic 3 times now and I just have no idea how I want to structure it, what I want the tone to be, things like that. Everything I put down never sounds right. Also I just don't have time lol

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue for sure.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Character's inner monologues and scene transitions, I think. I find inner monologues interesting, but I don't think I excel at making them interesting for the reader. I tend to give too much away. As for scene transitions, I find that when I write them they come out very short and rushed.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I usually don't do this because I'm just not a fan. in my world everyone in Hyrule speaks perfect American English lol. jk but kinda not. it's just not something I'm really thinking about when I write? and if I do include other languages, the main character(s) are usually oblivious to it and I don't include actual syntax. I'll just say "they muttered something in a different language" or something similar.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Super Mario. In Kindergarten. I made picture stories. LMFAOOOOO

20. Favorite fic you've ever written?

love me and leave me to die this one probably. i worked super hard on it for zelink week 2023 and thought i presented some unique ideas. totk spoilers abound though lol

HELLOOOO thank u for these !! i saw them on my commute to work so i've been thinking abt these... here we go........ (under the cut woohoo)

1: the character everyone gets wrong

i think the great thing abt atla fandom is people tend to enjoy rethinking characters and coming up with different motivations. so idt there are a lot of widely-held opinions about the characters that i really disagree with. so i guess i would say ursa and not in the everyone gets her wrong way but i do think the show did her kinda dirty. i've yelled abt most of this in replies to comments on in flammam flammas but the show kinda missing mum troped her and you have this woman with so much potential as a complex character who more or less gets co-opted into developing zuko's redemption arc. it's also just a bit agggghhhhh cos atla is full of interesting dads and so many of the mums are relegated to the backstory...

12: the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

idk if this counts LMFAOOOOO but let's be honest with ourselves. ozai is a major zaddy

17: there should be more of this type of fic/art

suki/azula?!?!?!? i read this 1 fic and it was so great so i went tramping through the tag and there's so little there. i actually do have an idea kicking around in my head but need to really pin it down... tried writing a bit of it but couldn't quite get the voice right. but i wanna make it happen

18: it's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on...

HMMM i really racked my brains thinking of this one but i have landed on: the absolute potential of the southern water tribe being southern. other creators have approached the subtle northern vs southern cultural differences in really creative ways but as an antipodean i can't help but think: what about antipodean Indigenous cultures? surely we could have Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander influences (we already have a boomerang), or Māori influences (in terms of seafaring)???

22: your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores

so this is by no means my actual favourite part of canon cos i can agree the episode is kinda wack but. i think the very interesting idea that the painted lady puts forward is the idea that ways of knowing/living in the landscape have been disrupted significantly by the fire nation's war machine, not only outside the nation but also within the nation itself. we see that with the school propaganda but the knowledge specifically tied to landscape is significantly disrupted (if not entirely destroyed) and the residents are alienated from the spirit of the river etc. i mean the episode could've explored all of that way better but my brain is full of destruction of knowledge systems ! and that episode really twigged something in my brain

6: favorite line from this character

i am terrible at rmbr'ing lines but when he meets team 7 and his reaction is "my first impression of you is... i hate you all" is the fucking funniest shit to me. first, he lets those 12yo kiddos wait for hours and then has the gall to tell them he hates them lmfao king shit i love him (also, what a lying liar. they're his kiddos and he loves them)

7: one way in which I relate to this character

slouch king <3 i too, can't walk or sit with my back straight. also, reading porn in public. relatable

8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character

lmao in shippuuden where he had to read a section out loud of his porn book and the line was literally just "i love you" but he practically died trying to say it, face red, sweat running down, stuttering and all that jazz acbsjfhsjfhdjfbajfb IT'S LITERALLY JUST I LOVE YOU, IT'S NOT EVEN SMTH SMUTTY FFS KKS YOU'RE A GROWN MAN!!! also the sheer amount of times he collapses bc of chakra exhaustion like pls king that's not normal, no one else pushes their chakra to the limit you fucking drama queen. i'll never forget that one time sakura sees him at ichiraku's and goes "oh, not in the hospital for once? that's new" lmfaooooo get recc'd. 1. How many are you happy with?

I think I’m just answering in terms of the titles and not the fics themselves (bc the answer would be two in that case; you can guess which two). I like the pun of laid bare a lot, and Adrift is probably the title I call back to the most in the fic itself, if not directly. Washington Square is just meant to be parallel with Notting Hill bc that’s what it’s a fusion of & because the other option would’ve been East Village, which I guess now thinking about it might’ve been better lmfaooooo.

I also like raw, bc as the tags say: “#unpremeditated barebacking #it's a metaphor”. It’s about the intimacy.

2. How many are…not great?

I hate mages against literacy lmfao it’s so lame. I think if I had a better idea for it I would change it now, but also the fic itself is a little ehhhhhh so I also probably wouldn’t bother.

otherwise i’m not SUPER proud of the TWO smiths songs referenced above but. what can i do. that’s my #brand.

there’s also SO many things inspired by songs i just randomly listened to on youtube but like, w/e, titles are hard.

3. How many did you scramble for at the last minute?

ALL OF THEM.

most recently I was casting about for the title to the fire and the flood, even once I had the text of the fic itself uploaded to AO3. I think I had it in drafts already and was still going through potential titles. some of the options i still have in the evernote document I wrote it in:

My faith is sick and my skin is thin as ever

All of which are bad imo. the fire and the flood is from the Vance Joy song, which doesn’t fit the mood of the fic really but I like the -- idk the contrast of the words? Both the fundamentally destructive nature of both fire and flood but also the way they cancel each other out, basically. And they’re both sweeping and epic and idk vaguely biblical and I’m #CatholicTrash, so.

4. How many did you know before you started writing/creating, or near the beginning?

Two -- the unconscious conscious is a phrase comes from some haphazard research I did about ~sex magic back when I first started writing that fic (I should’ve. Like, saved that, I guess???). And a last minute possibility was bc @jessicamiriamdrew was telling me about a film festival she was helping organize, and she mentioned that she’d received one film late and it was a last minute possibility, which I thought was the title of the movie itself (twas not) but I jokingly said that I was going to use it as the title of whatever I wrote next bc I liked the sound of it. et voilà.

5. How many are quotes from songs or poems?

Hmm let’s see:

the fire and the flood -- Fire and the Flood by Vance Joy

careful fear, and dead devotion -- Don’t Swallow the Cap by The National

need a little time (to wake up) -- Morning Glory by Oasis

no assignment for cowards -- allegedly this is a quote from Ovid (well, the quote itself is, “Love is no assignment for cowards”, but I think it’s cute to skirt around the l word, and if someone knows the full quote that’s a fun little easter egg for them/a shared joke between us)

not what ships are built for -- an old adage of undetermined provenance (”A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for”) but i uh. 100% cribbed it from a Valvert fic I read in 2013. God I’m old.

7. Which best reflects the plot of the story/content of the fanwork?

probably raw.

i mean. they raw. it’s raw...emotionally. i -- that really does say it all.

i also think the onomatopoeic feeling of the word stir (like, the slow susurrant awakening it evokes) really fits the mood of the fic itself. just the soft simplicity of waking up with someone you know and love.

8. Which best reflects the theme of the story?

Adrift, no doubt -- Adrift is probably one of the best fics I’ve written on all levels, including the title, and that’s probably because it’s ALL p thematically tight.

9. Which best reflects the character voice of the story/pov of the fanwork?

Hmm none of them, really? They all reflect my voice which is why so many are lyrics from the Smiths but I really don’t make the effort to tailor fic titles to character voice. maybe a boy with a thorn in his side, by virtue of it being modern au/teen Cassian Andor who’s -- Mexican and simmering with pretentious progressive rage and therefore, also probably a Smiths fan.

10. Which is your favourite title?

hmmm i think tied between raw and Adrift. gotta love those one word titles i guess

(but of fics i’ve written, ever, or at least on AO3, my crowning achievement for titles has to be save an x-wing, ride an ex-stormtrooper. I remember SCRAMBLING to finish that fic bc i was worried someone else was going to poach the name first, BUT THEY DIDN’T and i won.)
