i hate that cql made demonic cultivation into something that is actually harmful to the body and spirit. not only does it lessen the effect of the genuine mental turmoil the world was putting on wwx, without any other sort of influence, but i think it also takes away from one of lan wangjis biggest learning moments.

i was chatting with some cql onlies and they were shocked when i said something about demonic cultivation not being inherently bad for your mindset. in cql its heavily implied that demonic cultivation made wwx unstable, erratic, more prone to anger and emotional outbursts. and the choice to do this, like many of the other decisions in cql, feel like really lazy writing.

in the novel, demonic cultivation clearly has no effect on the mind or body or spirit; when wwxs comes back to life, he continues to regularly use demonic cultivation tenquinces, big and small amounts depending on the situation. never once does he make a comment or observation of it effecting him negatively in anyway, nor is it shown to.

the significance is that its in clear contrast to everything you hear about wei wuxian and demonic cultivation. everyone acts like once wwx picked up this evil path it twisted him from a young upstanding cultivator into a unforgivable monster. all of wwxs decisions post-burial mounds are watered down and blamed on his lack of control other the path he invented. the jins use this a way to tarnish the reputation wwx built for himself as a war hero, and making him into a threat that is dangerous and uncontrollable. which, was all lies.

the only reason wwx ever lost control of himself was because of the circumstances that were forced upon him in extremely stressful situations, where everyone was losing it. wwx is hardly ever acting out, but is rather reacting to move made on him.

lwj has to learn that he was /wrong/. that he was indirectly blaming wwx for his reactions because he was so sure that the use of resentful energy was hurting wwx. i dont think he really knew he was wrong until he was at nightless city, and he saw exactly how wwx was being pushed to become the villain the cultivation world wanted him to be. i think it lwjs mind, it was easier to assume it was demonic cultivation that was isolating wwx, rather than everyone with sway was turning against him. lwj couldnt fix the fall out of the cultivation world deciding that wwx was too dangerous, but he could fix the demonic cultivation. i think he realised here that it wasnt the demonic cultivation, that rather it was the false narrative that would be wwxs downfall, hence why we see him actively fighting back against them to defend wwx.

i see people describing this as 'lan wangji throwing away his own morals' and use this decision as an argument for lwj only existing to be wwxs love interest and i literally couldnt disagree with a take more. lwj isnt throwing away his morals, he's realising that he was wrong. he had assumed too much, been influenced by the words around him, didnt trust wwx when he said he knew what he was doing.

and i think that cql making demonic cultivation into something that /does/ make you uncontrollable and more dangerous makes this whole situation completely pointless. because cql!lwj had nothing to learn from it, he was in the /right/. wwx was uncontrollable and ready to snap at any moment, demonic cultivation has changed him for the worse and he needed to stop using it before it went too far. i just find this so much more less impactful, and the eventual death of wwx for lwj much less tragic. bc really, all lwj could do was say i told you so. cql!lwj could have never stood by wwx while using demonic cultivation, bc it was actively harmful. lwj defending wwxs use of demonic cultivation in cql /is/ him throwing away his own ideals, considering he would never be content with wwxs use of something that hurts him.

wow im loving this new ask layout.

it was post canon and wwx has been living with his husband and son in cr for a couple years now. jc is still somewhat reluctant to talk to him but he understands. jl comes by to nighthunt with his friends regularly. one unlucky day wwx had a mishap with resentful energy during a nighthunt accident and lsz died in the process.

everyone was heartbroken but wangxian were absolutely destroyed. they stayed in seclusion for months. wwx couldnt stand the guilt and had no face to see his son's friends and the other lans. even when lwj finally had to come out for sect duties wwx chose to stay in seclusion. he abandoned his regular cultivation and swore off demonic cultivation forever. in an effort to cheer up his husband, lwj persuaded him to go on a trip to worship the gods to pray for sizhui's death anniversary.

they came across a small temple, old and rickety and overgrown, and out of kindness they cleaned up and left a small offering. wwx just wanted his family back. lwj wanted a chance to start all over again. it suddenly stormed heavily that evening, so they had to take shelter in the temple for the night, taking caution to ask for permission from the resident god.

when they woke up, they were at the cloud recesses. lwj woke up in his old bedroom in a body that felt too small. wwx woke up startled in a guest bedroom in cr with jyl sitting by his bed.

"a-ying? did you have a nightmare?" wwx choked back a sob and just hugged his shijie for comfort. only then did he notice that he felt too small, and too soft. he looked down at his hands, then at his body. he was somehow a girl.

then jyl's presence in his room would make more sense. girls and boys dorms are separated in the cr. wangxian woke up as an alternate version of themselves with their original memories as well as the memories of their new body. lwj was still lan er gongzi. but in this body, she was just wei ying, a senior disciple of yunmeng jiang.

wangxian met each other again in class and wy took caution to not vex lqr too bad this time, lest he disapprove of their inevitably impending union. jc eyed lwj furiously when he approached wy after class to talk privately. it seemed that the two of them were the only ones reborn.

the first thing lwj did after that was ask his uncle to send a formal betrothal request to ymj for wy's hand. which to lqr was weird, but lz wouldnt budge. he thought lxc could still marry a more proper wife, so its fine.

they spent the rest of the year courting, lwj was in such a rush to marry wy. wy wasnt /actually/ jyl's little sister so it was no issue if she married first. meanwhile, jyl's betrothal was broken. this time by her own brother who punched jzx so hard he broke his nose. wangxian got married a year after they finished studying in gusu.

everyone was overjoyed when wy got pregnant. even mdm yu was happy for her. when their son was born, lwj recognized his soul to be their a-yuan, and wy cried her lungs out in joy. their little son had his old nose, lwj's nose, but now the rest of him look like them too. his hair was midnight black like lz's but with wy's playful curls. he had wy's ears and little constellation of moles on his skin. he even had lz's light eyes.

lqr wouldnt let go of his grandnephew that lan huan had to bargain with his uncle to be able to hold his nephew. after a-yuan could walk, they went to visit lotus pier. the toddler /adored/ jiang cheng, laughing and squealing loudly in his arms. he loved getting head pats by jyl and kept demanding attention from mdm yu by pulling on her skirt or hugging her leg and crawling into her lap. he wasnt so fond of jfm, however, only looking away in disinterest or reaching out his hands to his parents. for once jfm felt left out in his family.

wangxian wracked their brain trying to stop the sunshot campaign from happening, but wrh's power ran deeper than they thought and they could only postpone it, not prevent it completely. the wens attacked lotus pier first, burning it to the ground and killing jc's parents. the jiang siblings ran to cr, but it only served to bring the wen dogs sniffing at cr's door.

wy is talented in cultivation, but having sworn off resentful energy and having to protect the sect's children as well as her own, she could only do so much while her husband was taken to the nightless city.

lwj eventually managed to escape and jc with the help from qinghe nie managed to gather the survivors of his sect. they all went to war and the sun was finally shot. lwj came home to wy just in time to tell him they were expecting a daughter.

this time there was no yin hufu for jgs to fight over, just the remnants of the wen sect. knowing llj would abuse the war prisoners, lwj spoke up and ppl listened when he proposed the wen remnants go to qinghe for trials. civilians are left to themselves while criminals are sent to labor. the resouces belonging to the wen sect was distributed to other sects both big and small depending on how much casualty they suffered under wrh.

jzx fell in love with jyl during the war and got married as soon as it was over. jin ling was born not too long after a-yuan's little sister lan yuyan. together jyl and jzx forced llj to give out resources for jc to rebuild his sect.

3zun still became sworn brothers and wangxian didnt exactly know when jgy got married, so he still married qin su. jgs had jgy kill nmj, and when jgy wont agree to spy on gusulan he had another one sent. lwj sent nmj a missive not to trust jgy with calming and avoided his death.

it took a couple years, but when jgs thought he was ready he even imprisoned jzx and his family in koi tower, depriving them of any communications and arrested disciples that are loyal to jzx.

llj was gearing up to war once again, this time against everyone else. jgs had, unbeknowst of everyone, gotten the note on core melting hand technique and had xue yang learn it.

wangxian reached out to nhs, trying to find a way to kill jgs. realizing that jgs was fully prepared to kill lxc, jgy turned his sights over to jzx, admitting his faults and teaming up to kill jgs. jgs had jzxun attack qinghe, but it was easily defended against. xue yang led the troop against cloud recesses.

xy aimed at the main lan family and injured a-yuan. in a desperate attempt to save his family, lwj jumped out and xy destroyed his golden core. meanwhile, he still sent spiritual energy towards saving his son. distracted by his victim, wy managed to cut xy's head off. back in llj, jgy along with jzxuan and jc attacked jgs's forces in koi tower. jc beheaded jgs and with that this new war was over.

thanks to lwj, lan yuan was fine and his injury was stabilized. however the destruction of lwj's golden core not only take away his cultivation but also mangled his meridians. wy could do nothing but weep with her daughter in her lap while lxc and lqr played healing for her husband.

lwj died in his sleep that night, finally exhaling his last painful breath while wy fell asleep from crying. his funeral along with those fallen during the attack was held a few days after. wy didnt look like herself in the mourning clothes she wore along with the children.

wy was inconsolable and kept apologizing the the children. especially a-yuan. fate had been so cruel on him that he couldnt grown up with two parents twice over. it seemed that in this life too he would be named sizhui. wy refused to move and kept sigil by lwj's coffin.

suddenly su minshan came out of nowhere and started yelling at her. calling her a jinx and an unlucky bitch that shouldve prevented her husband from dying. lqr yelled at him to leave. two and a half year old lan yuyan tried to shoo him away, punching at his knees. but the adult man just kicked the little girl away. jc couldnt stay silent anymore and wrapped zidian around sms's neck and pulled, making sure his neck broke when hitting the floor.

wy didnt say anything. she just took her crying daughter and left. after making sure lan yuyan is alright, wy locked herself in her room for 3 weeks. she didnt even open the door when her kids come knocking and begging.

it broke lxc's heart to see once again two children waiting on their mother's door. he asked jyl for help in persuading wy to come out. when they came in, wy looked like a ghost still in her white mourning robes with a whole head of white hair and her eyes so weary from weeping. she fainted soon after opening the door.

they checked on her only to find out she was 2 months pregnant. the tears start anew for wy and jyl asked lxc to take wy back to lotus pier so she can recuperate with her sworn siblings. lxc and lqr reluctantly agreed and wy came with jyl and jc back to lotus pier. jzxuan became the new sect leader and severely punished jgy along with his father's men while his wife and son stayed in yunmeng.

wy made a promise with lwj once to never let their children be orphans like they were. even if only for her kids, wy tried her best to get better. she stood out in her white mourning robes in lotus pier. wy was constantly surrounded by kids, all wanting her attention. she ate jyl food with the kids and watched jc teach her kids and jin ling how to swim. after a couple months, her dark hair came back and she got healthier. her second son lan shun was born in the middle of the hot yunmeng summer in lotus pier.

after lan shun turned 1, they came back to cloud recesses. wy had some time to accept her loss, but kept thinking abt lwj. after hearing from other lan disciples, lan yuan asked granduncle to teach him inquiry. the first time lwj responded to a-yuan's guqin strings, wy broke down on her knees. wy has been wearing lwj's headband on her forearm, so lwj attached parts of his soul in it. some of it went to bichen, which lan yuan inherited. some went to lan yuyan who inherited wangji guqin. lan shun never knew his father so he didnt want anything belonging to lwj.

for now, wy had to be content with inquires to lwj. for now they had to be content with waiting for each other on the other side.

- “wei ying - come back” “lan zhan - let go” IT HURTS. IT HURTS. but those lines hit so fucking hard bro i couldnt NOT include them

- that moment in the very last episode where wwx walks up next to huaisang in the cloud recesses and says “do not befriend the devil :)” and then u find out huaisang basically orchestrated everything in the present day timeline

- “you even fooled hanguang jun” “...you’re right” “NOT right. i already knew he was wei ying” CATCH ME VIOLENTLY SOBBING

- when lan zhan is drunk (one of many times LOL) and wwx asks “do you like rabbits??” and he goes in the SOFTEST voice “i like...” like omg babie

- in the p early part of the timeline when wwx and the jiang clan are still learning shit at the cloud recesses and they release those lanterns ?? but specifically the moment i loved was when lan zhan sees the rabbit painted on the lantern by wwx and smiles for the first time in the show . i knew immediately i would die for him

- when everyone is getting indoctrinated by the wen clan and wwx’s little shit self start’s reciting the gusu lan clan’s disciplines and wen chao loses his mind LOL. fucking BEST.

- when lan zhan says “you’re not qualified to talk to me” to su she (i think it was su she??)

- when sizhui regains his memories and realizes wwx basically raised him and the hug that follows . fuck . i cried so hard

- when wwx has just reappeared after being in the burial mounds for 3 months and basically makes lingjiao to commit suicide with his flute :))) i lost my mind like . the BADDEST BITCH WEI WUXIAN .

- literally any scene with wen ning being wuxian’s loyal noodle . esp after he (wen ning) gets all powerful

- that moment when everyone is at the jin clan’s territory doing the night hunt and wwx says “i once considered you my lifelong soulmate” and lan zhan says “i still am” CHILLS. SOULMATES AF

- when zewu jun goes “master wei. don’t take it to heart” and reveals he knows wwx’s true identity (after he’s reincarnated) god that was so cool idk

- ok this is a moment that was so heartbreaking that it deserves to be mentioned:: after the massacre of lotus pier by lingjiao n company, when they show jiang fengmian and madam yu dead, holding hands on the floor on sword’s hall. on god i choked on my own tears

- same thing for this one,, it broke my heart and i cried but it was rly powerful and deserves to be mentioned:: when song lan goes to find xiao xingchen in coffin town and xue yang’s cut his tongue off and xingchen’s stabbed song lan unknowingly and song lan reaches out to xingchen with his sword so xc will recognize him and he JUST misses. and xc and xue yang walk away from his dead body. fuck. my chest PHYSICALLY hurt with how WRONG that was. this show did not spare the emotional trauma

- kinda sad (no actually, 100% is sad) but the bloodbath of nightless city where wwx ends up dying?? when he finally kinda just . snaps after nearly everyone he loves has been killed and all the clans have turned against him and everyone he trusted has basically abandoned him (except for lwj) and he’s just like . laughing humorlessly and crying . god . the pain. it was so well done

- that moment during that jin clan night hunt again but when wwx goes beast mode and simultaneously hits 4 bullseyes blindfolded . nut. holy shit

- that moment after wwx returns from his 3 month burial mounds adventure and he and lwj are kinda not talking and he FINALLY runs after him and lwj goes petty asf and whips out his sword and lowkey fights him for 5 seconds skjfksd god i loved that LMAO

- when jingyi fucking DECIMATES su she with roasts in the demon subdue palace. i love my son

- the morning after lwj got rly drunk w wwx and wwx is like “you just said... you like...” and lwj’s head WHIPS AROUND in a gay PANIC liek Oh FUCK OH FUCK DID I EXPOSEMYSELF??? and then wwx is like “... RABBITS.” and u can visibly see lwj’s whole body relax LOL

- wwx being a little shit right after he’s been reincarnated and also panicking when hanguang jun is mentioned SDFJKD

- when jiang cheng and lan zhan see wuxian step into view when they’re tracking down wen chao and the core melting hand guy and they realize it’s been him killing all these wen clan members with BRUTAL ways sjfkjd fuck i screamed so loud

- when yanli and jiang cheng meet with wuxian after he’s a fugitive to show him yanli’s wedding outfit. i cried a little it was just a beatiful moment

unpopular opinion, but WWX was disappointing in Episode 14 of the Untamed

reasons why? it’s all about after that beautiful music video montage, in the aftermath of his rescue...

he doesn’t so much as thank JC, and immediately goes “here you are at last”. this may seem small, but like. how hard is it to say thanks? he says “it’s been many days since you escaped.” which sounds a lot like since you escaped.

goes straight to asking about LWJ, which i mean... ok, hes in love (LOL) and we get that, but... it might be the fault of the fact that we don’t see any evidence of their (JZX and JC) struggles (i.e. they still look pretty), but he just ignores that they’ve been through a lot too? how hard is it to say “are u ok, bro?”

like, it’s not unreasonable or bratty for JC to ask, “you dont thank me first?” because it’s basic courtesy, even if you don’t mean it, to thank someone for coming back to rescue your ass (i would think)

(gotta take a quick aside to say, i love the fact JC and JZX got along enough to work together... like despite JC not liking him, he’s being very decent and stuff, and yah... manners are good)

imma ignore all the fuckery about the Wens and this attack mode theyve decided on, because thats a whole other kettle of fish

so he wakes up after collapsing and the siblings are all sweet, but then JFM (the bastard) comes in, and... theres all that shit he does with ignoring his other two children and hyper-focusing on WWX (he’s injured, but we all know it’s not because of that)... and WWX doesnt do anything about it? imma break this down further

JFM completely ignores JC. doesnt so much as look at him. says “you suffered a lot this time” to WWX. when WWX says “JC suffered a lot saving me” thats one point in his favour. One. Point.

JFM does his own fuckery by saying “Well done” but doesnt even say it to anyone in particular. WWX isnt dumb. he should know JC needs at least one bit of validation, but does he get that? nope

WWX does that little chin jerk as if to go “see, i stuck up for u” and it’s like minimal effort there, pal. wow. thanku so much. and JC goes and congratulates him, and then WWX says if u were there u couldve had some credit too (and he’s not saying it in a smug way, but like... come on dude, u know ur bro wants that credit desperately)

then im not even gonna go into the detail of JFM scolding JC for saying that stuff, like... everyone knows that bit. what i want to point out is that WWX says nothing throughout all of this. lots of people say that he has to behave well because he’s technically not a family member (servant), but whilst that may be true with Madame Yu, this was the part where she wasnt even there yet?? and its clear that JFM favours him and likes when he speaks his mind, so why couldnt he step up for his little bro instead of letting him be talked to like that???

“Uncle Jiang. It’s alright. He’s just angry and speaking without care.” is like the worst damn thing he couldve said, goddamnit. it just highlights JC’s bad characteristics (which im not denying he has), and martyring himself. would it have been so difficult to say “Uncle Jiang. that’s just the way JC shows concern for his loved ones (and you’d know that if u paid any attention to him at all whatsoever)”

so im not gonna criticise WWX for staying quiet when Madame Yu walks in because thats basic survival instinct. if he speaks then, he’s toast XD and i understand that. it’s afterwards, when he’s comforting JC (or trying to) where he says that JFM is only strict with JC because hes his heir, yadda yadda... im like, does that excuse him blatantly being uncaring to him? why does WWX feel the need to justify that behaviour? all its doing is telling JC that what he gets (which is strictness) is what he gets, and comfort, love, affection etc are not what he deserves from his own father

“But I’m different. I’m the son of someone else.” aiyah man, how does that feature? he was the son of someone else, but it’s obvious since he walked into Lotus Pier that he’s now considered JFM’s son too, at least in the way he treats him!! it’s no excuse to say that, really! ahhhh im so annoyed. and it’s this that leads me to my main point, which is...

as i’ve said before, lots of people would argue that WWX lacks the ability to speak up for JC, or really do anything here, but lemme say why i think that isn’t quite true. in terms of favour, seniority, talent, potential etc etc, it’s obvious that WWX wins. he’s absolutely JFM’s favourite child, there is no question about that. if he spoke his mind and disrespected JFM, the likelihood is that he wouldnt get kicked out even after that!

like, JFM and YZY would have a massive blow out, but can you imagine JFM allowing WWX to be thrown onto the streets?? i cant. it’s more likely JC would be thrown out than WWX...

ok... ok maybe not. idk, but my point stands that the punishment for WWX speaking out would be buffered by JFM. in The Untamed at least, it seems that JFM has a more assertive stance than the donghua (or novel??), so like, i can see him fighting with YZY over it

im frustrated with WWX being so passive about everything basically. and like, that generated this whole shitpost rant. dear god. why am i so invested in this fucking dysfunctional mess of a family. bloody Jiangs...

i knew it wasnt gonna be any different from the previous iterations of MDZS, but why why why couldnt WWX make different choices... haha. change the whole damn canon just to give him and JC less friction. it would make him more of a hero in my eyes if he used his bravery in the family as well as on the battlefield...

*takes a deep breath* this is the chapter, guys. The chapter of that freaking spoiler. I'm gonna enjoy it all the same.

EDIT:

The second ‘siege’ could indeed be recorded in history. However, instead of being its scale or number of deaths, it’d be because it was the most pointless, laughable event of the cultivation world.

EDIT 2:

Wei WuXian knew at once. The closest ‘safe place’ to Yiling was the area of the YunmengJiang Sect. He asked, “So you intend on going to Lotus Pier next?”

Lan QiRen was vigilant, “Why do you ask?”

Wei WuXian, “Nothing. I just wanted to ask if I could go along.”

Sect Leader Yao warned, “Wei WuXian! You did a good deed today, but those are two separate things. Please understand that it’s impossible for us to associate with you.”

Everyone knew that Sect Leader Jiang, the one whom Wei WuXian turned against, hated him the most. They all thought that their negotiation would fall through.

Yet, he only let out a bitter laugh, “So you dare go back to Lotus Pier?”

I need these two idiots to talk everything out. JIANG CHENG STOP BEING JIANG CHENG FOR ONE MINUTE AND TALK WITH YOUR BROTHER.

Wwx back at lotus pier gives me too many feels I'm gonna die for sure

One of the boys commented, “Heavens, it’s so shaky that it feels like there’s a storm in my stomach. Hey, SiZhui-xiong, you’re throwing up as well? Aren’t you from Gusu? It’s not like you’re from the North. Why are you even more seasick than I am?!”

“JingYi, what are you laughing about?”

I haven’t done this for a while but long thoughts about WWX and MDZS since I just finished rereading the extras. I’ll keep it to bulletin point so I don’t go off with overly long posts AJSASD

I don’t think I can subscribe when people associate WangXian with ‘pining’. Frankly, kind of disliked the term because it seems to demean their relationship, and to me it’s difficult to make sense at all. LWJ did not wait for WWX for 13 years, he mourned WWX for 13 years. No one knew that WWX was going to come back, even WWX himself. On top of that, I don’t really think LWJ’s inquiry was summoning for WWX’s soul as well. At the beginning of the novels, it’s said that cultivators have been assembling status on BM to summon WWX’s soul but to no avail. WWX is gone. For them, it’s like a fact they refused to accept. This, of course, would also be known to LWJ. It makes little sense then why LWJ would summon for WWX when hundreds of cultivators and statues couldnt. So I don’t think LWJ’s Inquiry for 13 years is trying to summon for WWX, I think he’s summoning any spirit that would allow to be summoned and wants to ask them what happened to WWX’s soul. Makes sure he passed on safely, made sure he wasn’t captured by those cultivators pinning for him on top of the BM, and perhaps, seeking for a peace of his mind. (aka he just wants to make sure WWX is safe and well, and passed on, so LWJ can move on in peace too).

I used to dislike WWX and JC’s ending, but not so much now. It’s sort of foolish to ask for immediate recovery of JC and WWX’s relationship after what happened. They needed time and their ending was a promising one. Besides, WWX did say (back in the Xuanwu cave) that Yunmeng and Gusu are only one to two days (walk) away. In ancient china, people travel for days on horseback to meet with someone in another city. A day or two’s walk (and perhaps even less than a day on horseback) from Yunmeng to Gusu is nothing. WWX did not leave JC, even if he’s living in the CR now, seeing JC is just like walking over to your next door’s neighbour. We see WWX trying to act proper for LWJ’s sake in front of LQR, so why wouldn’t he try to mend his relationship with JC too?? I know WWX is naughty in general, but he isnt heartless and would try for those he cares about. Give him decency.

Reading that part where after JGY died, JL’s position as sect leader still faces threat as a lot of people is eye-ing that position. WWX did took note of that and kept up with the news. With WWX and JC (both of JL’s uncles) in two other prominent sect, for them to exist alone is just like saying “Watch out.” @ the people who intend to usurp JL. It’s a very common strategy and an effective one. WWX and JC didn’t even need to do anything, they just have to make everyone acknowledge what powers are behind their back.

the donghua visibly showing all of lan wangjis soft smiles and fond looks directed at wei wuxian is just... So Good. like i knew when reading the novel (especially on my 2nd read through) that if wwx never found out about lwjs feelings, lwj was perfectly content to see wwx thriving and being himself; that as long as he could stand with him and protect him from anyone who tried to knock him down, lwj would be happy. had probably expected that this was what life was going to be like when he realised wwx had come back, and was so overcome with the idea that he had a second chance and wwx was willing to spend his second life with him rather than running from him taat he couldnt even think about being upset over unrequited love that he never dared to hope could be returned in the first place ... every lil smile and fond stare in the donghua so perfectly expresses those feelings that wwx never saw/we didnt get a good picture of in the novel because he wasnt looking for it at the time.

a little bit of yandere jiang cheng to start ur day.. in which jc has been secretly in love with wwx but never got over his pride to say it. he didn't really mind that wwx tend to outdo him in everything. it didn't matter, bc wwx belonged to him at the end of the day. but then comes lwj. he couldnt stand it, wwx talking abt lwj every chance he got, wwx keep looking for lwj, it wasn't becoming for someone who was his. then lotus pier was destroyed, his parents died bc wwx wanted to save lwj. 1/

yandere jiang cheng.. he was fine with it. bc wwx was still with him. jc would do anything for wwx, but the latter was too blind to see. jc even got himself captured and his golden core melted and even so he was fine with it, for wwx. then wwx had to be an idiot and give his golden core to jc. yes, jc knew. he couldn't react from the anaesthesia but he could hear everything. he figured if wwx wanted to keep it a secret he would keep his secret and be grateful silently. then wwx was missing. 2/

yandere jc.. on one hand jc's pride couldn't let him not take over his sect, on the other hand he keept looking for wwx. when they met again, wwx had changed. jc kept telling him to go back to yunmeng, but wwx was stubborn. couldn't he see that he belonged to jc? but he was fine with it. he would just keep asking. then later, shijie died. and still wwx was too stubborn to see, to listen. well, that was fine too. if jc couldn't have wwx, then no one can. soon after, sandu pierced wwx's chest. 3/

yandere jiang cheng.. over a decade later, jc met wwx again in the body of mo xuanyu. jc was ready to forgive him if wwx realized his standing. but still that ungrateful bastard failed to see who he belonged to, regardless of his body. he went with lwj instead of going back to yunmeng, to jiang cheng, where he belonged. this time, jc wasn't going to lose. wwx was going with him, by force or not. 4/4

1/ >mpreg< wrh won the sunshot campaign, but both his sons still die, so he wants to be repaid. he demands a chosen bride from each sect for his harem and so nhs, jgy, lxc, and even jyl (who is married and left jl as an orphan bc jzx died during the war) and wwx.. he especially wants wwx and so he keeps him separate from the rest, seals his power and brainwashed him, turning him into a pliant bedwarmer whose only job is to provide wrh with more children.

2/ >mpreg< wrh made sure to control his new harem with a tight leash, going so far as to damage their golden cores to weaken them. lwj is going mad bc not only his brother but also his beloved wei ying were taken away to serve wrh. he tried to reach out to other sects, asking them to cooperate to take their hostages back but none of the sects were brave or strong enough to go against wrh, especially after the devastating war.

3/ >mpreg< after thirteen years of gathering intel and strength as well as countless failed infiltration missions, lwj has had enough of it and decided to sneak into nightless city himself. he managed to find his brother and nhs but there were no signs of the others. it broke his heart to see the swollen stomach of his brother as he told him that none of them had seen wwx since he was first taken in. wwx is wrh's favorite, birthing the most children for him out of all of them.

4/ >mpreg< nightless city was crawling with children who look like wrh. lwj told lxc that he's making a plan to help all of them escape. lxc was scared for his children, but didn't object. wrh found out abt lwj sneaking into his castle, but kept hush abt it bc he wants lwj to suffer more. he threatened lxc to act like he was going along with the plan and telling wrh everything or he's going to kill their youngest toddler. he could just put a new one in him, anyway.

5/ >mpreg< lxc just prayed lwj would have enough time to escape when their escape plan fail later. after about a week of hiding in nightless city, lwj stumbled upon a restricted area. he managed to sneak in and he was horrified to find wwx inside, heavily pregnant, but without an ounce of discontent on his face, in fact he looked overjoyed. the man was calmly combing his hair while humming to himself. lwj was so shocked he accidentally made a noise that alerted wei ying of his presence.

6/ >mpreg< "who's there?" wwx immediately grabbed a hairpin for self defense but relaxed when his eyes found it was just lwj. "oh hi lan zhan" he was smiling but it was so unsettling. "why do you hv to sneak in like a mouse? my a-yuan can do better than that when he was five" lwj couldnt move, couldnt say anything. "lan zhan? what's wrong? we haven't met for many years and the first thing you do is sneak into my room and frown at me?"

7/ >mpreg< "wei ying. have to get you out of here" lwj finally uttered. "what? why?" lwj couldnt believe his ears. "why would i want to leave master ruohan and our children?" lwj wished he could just die on the spot. "but- he forced you and the others-" "forced? what are you talking about?" lwj saw wwx was getting agitated and it unnerved him to no end. "if youre coming here just to disturb me then just go!" wwx's voice was getting louder and lwj has no choice but to leave before he was found

8/ >mpreg< a couple weeks later, lwj finally managed to get the last of his plans taken care of. he made a huge distraction that allowed wrh's harem to flee to their designated meeting spot (they came right back in after but lwj never knew that). they could bring the smaller children with their mothers but they would have to leave the older children behind since wrh had had his influence on them already. the only one left was wei ying. he had to get wei ying back no matter what.

9/ >mpreg< lwj didnt care if he would only be able to take wei ying or if wei ying was going to hate him. he couldnt let wei ying go again. he inched closer to wwx's living quarters and he barely got a greeting in before the maidservants announced wrh's arrival. wwx immediately told lwj to hide in his room. wrh came in and wwx all but jumped into his arms. lwj could see everything. he could see wrh kissing he face he dreamt of kissing for so many years, touching the body he dreamt of touching for so many years.

10/ >mpreg< lwj ended up hiding for a good portion of the whole day, trying to close his ears as he heard sounds he once dreamt wei ying would let out only for him. swallowing his own tears as wwx begs wrh to ravish him. wrh didnt leave until wwx woke up from his nap. when he deemed it safe enough, lwj sneaks back out, still wrecking his brain trying to think of ways to convince wwx to leave with him. "wei ying, come back to gusu with me, please" wwx pouts, shaking his head. "im not going anywhere, get lost!" "wei ying please" lwj tried approaching wwx, but he just kept backing away. "get lost!"

11/ >mpreg< lwj kept pushing, maybe if he could just touch wei ying, he could identify and undo whatever spell wrh did on wei ying. wwx kept backing away, replying to all of lwj's pleas with 'get lost'. he wasnt going to let this man who he hadnt seen for so long take everything away from him. soon, there was no more space for wwx to retreat to, trapped between lwj's approaching form and his vanity table. he grabbed a hairpin and swung, slashing lwj's perfect face. blood dripped on the floor, but lwj couldnt care less, not when wei ying is inches away from him. he had to have wei ying back.

12/ >mpreg< lwj was prepared to just hit wwx's pressure points to render him unconscious and carry him outside, his pregnancy be damned, but before he could, wei ying was already screaming. "a-yuan!" it took mere seconds before the door slammed open, revealing a teenager with a sword in his hand. he had wei ying's eyes. he could recognize that shade of silver anywhere, but the glint of malice there was unmistakably wen ruohan's. the teenager charged at lwj, who was caught off guard and it took no time before lwj was subdued and bleeding, kneeling by wwx's bed with the teenager's foot keeping him still. "scum! you dare try to harm my mother?!"

13/ >mpreg< "would never try to harm wei ying.. only want wei ying back" lwj croaks. "preposterous!" wei ying's son (a-yuan, lwj's mind provided) barked. "who do you think you are, to boldly lay claim on my mother? you deserve death for this!" lwj didnt respond. he was focused on wwx sitting in front of him, caressing his baby bump lovingly, creating an image of heavenly bliss, but everything in lwj screamed that it was wrong- wrong, wrong, wei ying is "lan zhan" lwj's world stopped.

14/ >mpreg< wwx looked at lwj in the eyes. his eyes look sad. disappointed. at wangji "why do you keep antagonizing me? back then you kept telling me that i was wrong, kept telling me how i was supposed to be. i know you didnt like me before and i left you alone. now youre here pestering me, as if i have no mind of my own to think and feel. and you ask me to leave with you?never," wwx's eyes hardened with grievance. "i suggest you leave immediately and maybe you'll get to keep your life" lwj's eyes widen. wei ying misunderstood, must tell him- "no, wei ying, youre under a spell. wei ying would never-" lwj wheezed as a sharp kick hit his back. "shut up!" wen yuan growled, "if i hear you speak rubbish one more time i would-" "a-yuan" wwx interrupted. "wen yuan, my beloved firstborn, it's okay. mother's got this," he gave his son an assuring look. then he shifted his gaze back to lwj. "lan zhan, im not under any spell. i really do belong here. you can check" wwx held out one hand for lwj to touch. lwj desperately took the hand. he wanted to relish in the softness of skin at first, the warmth he longed for, but quickly decided something was more important. he checked wwx's meridians, his qi pathways. lwj paled. he could feel nothing.

15/ >mpreg< "why" all the breath left lwj. "wei ying, he- he made you birth so many children, kept you locked here-" wwx's brows arched. "ah, my bad" wwx gave lwj a side eye. "you know to much now" lwj swore he could saw wwx smirk at wen yuan but nothing mattered anymore. lwj gasped when a sword pierced his chest but it was a welcome pain to numb his aching soul. "just so you know," wwx's eyes glinted with glee as he bends down in a mock attempt to whisper into lwj's ear. "i love being pregnant. i beg master ruohan to breed me again even a few weeks after giving birth. im never going to stop, i cant stop," he giggled and lwj was somehow relieved that wwx's laughter was the last thing he heard before everything dissolved into nothing.

[ending notes] back in gusu, just as everyone was busy with the absence of their sect leader, only a letter came a few days later with a familiar red seal and a bloody headband. someone tried to violate a member of wen ruohan's harem and the perpetrator has been dealt with accordingly. their sect leader never returned.
