Hey there! I’d been thinking about watching RWBY for a while but I don’t know much about it, and I was wondering if you had anything to gush about for some motivation? Also your fanart from it is soooooo pretty aaahhhh and I want to know more
Ooh this is a good question! Rwby is kinda complicated there's good and bad. This got really long so I'm putting it under a cut lmao
Regarding the art, in the beginning it's a little rough but they find their footing! The 3d modeling in the very first scene is hard to get through but it begins to improve immediately after that, and continues to improve throughout the show. In particular the fight scenes are pretty stellar compared to similar shows, and I like most of the character designs.
Storywise, I like a lot of things that are pretty spoilery but there's a few fun twists! It's a really great magical girl type show, the characters are lovable and have poignant arcs, and its pretty emotional. Each character has a "fairy tale allusion" and presumably their character arcs relate to that fairy tale. The show also tackles a lot of really interesting personal issues to the characters imo. Some of these are handled pretty clumsily, but I like that they approach complicated issues at all. Some negatives are the plot is a bit convoluted, it doesn't always have a point(sometimes they seem to accidentally make some sus points), and there are way too many characters(they all have cool designs though). The plot often will move past important points without tying up the loose ends, which in my opinion is a strength, though some don't care for it. There are also a number of significant tone shifts throughout the show, which I again think of as a strength, but some don't really care for.
The music is awesome also, even if you don't like the show I recommend listening to the soundtrack! Yang has all the best songs <3`

It’s @ficwritersweek!!! And the theme for day one is comments:
Writers: Favorite comments - There’s always those comments that stick, the ones that help you push through a story or personal favorites that you just have to reread from time to time. Writers, this is the day to share some of those!
I love all comments I get, so I’d be hard pressed to pick one favourite comment, but the ones pictured above are a few exemplary ones that made me very happy! Whether short and sweet, long and elaborate, or simply incoherent excitement, comments are love and I’m so grateful for each and everyone!
The first one was a comment on Ancient Mystery, a Stisaac that I felt was just a ridiculous little ficlet not worth much, so to hear that it made a difference for someone was wonderful!
I've been having a really bad couple of days. You have no idea how much this has cheered me up. So honesty thank you for writing this Stiles/Isaac fic.
This comment on Homebound is one of the examples of the more elaborate comments, and I felt so honoured by the compliments paid to my writing in it!
The best stroyline and writing style I've ever read in a while. fix-it tenderly. Close to the reality. not pushing forcefully them to say about love like fairy tale and pretend as if difficulty and difference between man/man relationship and master/servant relationship. All are happening naturally as it would happen in real life. Arthur was so adroable. Merlin was so piteous and then cute. So beautiful Hurt/Comfort. I love it. Thank a lot for healing my hurt I got from some other cruel fics and canon. Bless you.
Far shorter, but not at all any less wonderful was the comment on Pigtails and it made me grin and laugh and just feel all excited about this person’s excitement about my fic and just aaahhhh
Holy shit holy shit holy shit holy shit holy shit. I need to sit down. Fuck this was so great.
Where the heart is is my personal fix it fic and I didn’t have the greatest experience when first posting it to AO3, which makes me doubly glad for wonderful comments such as this one. These comments are really what keeps me writing! This is also one of the few fics that I’ve had people actually send me asks about because they loved it so much, which was such a nice surprise!
That was absolutely beautiful. You have a way with words that really warmed my heart here. I got a bit teary-eyed on a few occasions, especially with Laura at the end, but those were really happy tears. Thank you for making my day brighter.
And finally, commenting on fics can be a great source of joy, too! I’ve gotten such lovely replies to some of my own comments on other people’s fics and this is just one example that made me really happy! (this was the reply on a comment I left on Checking for Fish, an awesome Sterek fic I can only recommend!)
If comments are love, this is a weekend in Paris. <3
And last, but so not least I’d like to thank Clara and Larissa for always being such amazing cheerleaders! You two keep me writing and I’m so grateful to you both <3 @loverofcake @ohfuckthisshit
