Major Conveniences ~ part 5

Masterlist for Major Conveniences
A/N - IT’S FINALLY FKN HERE! I’ve been sick TWICE since the last part and life’s been knocking me on my ass consistently lately. BUT! I’ve finally posted the fifth part! It is slightly shorter from how long I intended it to be at first but “the rest of it” so to speak is going to have to be the next part. Bc I’ve been working too long on thiiiiiis.
Not me searching up Yale’s libraries rules... And so much else about Yale and a little about Georgetown for this fic. I’m dedicated af. Even though I probably don’t need to be. I think I definitely could get by with only using my Gilmore Girls knowledge of Yale.
This text might be my most rewritten, and rewritten, and rewritten piece ever, I’m pretty sure my latest rewrite of this (that I just finished) was like at least my fifth or seventh look over it all. That might be because this is once again hella self indulgent... but uhm... yeah. idc.

Overthinking would hardly ever be a solution to anything. Unless the problem itself could be solved through analysis. Therefore, when it comes to a situation like this. Where you’re going to meet someone, obviously not knowing what they’re going to say or how it’s all going to go in general… it cannot be solved by overthinking.
Picturing every little possible situation is not even possible. Especially when you don’t know them and your mind is quite obviously fixed on the thought that you’re going to screw this up somehow.
It wasn’t the only thing on your mind. But it definitely took up a large chunk of your thoughts ever since the moment Klitz told you that they were going to visit.
 Eli, Matt, and Danielle had booked a hotel just five minutes from campus.
 It was going to take Matt and his girlfriend a couple of hours to drive up from DC. And it would take even longer for Eli to fly from Los Angeles. But then they’d just be here. Five minutes away. Which was more than a little nerve-racking. But the whole situation, in general, could be described as such.
 But it wasn’t as if your nerves had been able to calm down at any point the last few days anyway. A lot of studying and additionally feeling as if there was nowhere on campus that you could feel comfortably alone. You’d rather be alone with Klitz. But at this point, you’d accept to be alone by yourself anywhere that wasn’t just one of the bathrooms.
 Going to college is certainly a socializing experience and something that makes you get ’out there’ in the world or whatever one would say. But it also tears down any sort of resemblance of privacy.
 So when feeling as if everything in the world is crashing down upon you, you crash onto your bed. You’d been lying face down in your bed for probably… way too long after getting back from your last lecture of the day.
 Your roommate at her desk working on some assignment, her fingers annoyingly tapping against her desk as she reads through the pages of some course literature. Sometimes pausing her tapping to pick up her pen and scribble a few notes down.
 And then there was a knock at the door.
 ”Come in!” Both of you shouted at the same time, the door creaked open, your head twisting to the side to see who it is. Klitz. ”Ah, the boyfriend. I’m not going to the library.” She quickly stated, returning to her actions of clicking her nails against the desk and turned her head back to the book.
 ”Hi baby.” You mumbled, not getting up from your position as Klitz climbs onto your bed beside you. Brushed his hand upwards on your back before settling softly at the end of your neck. A small hum rising out of you in the contentment of his touch. Which made him decide to continue stroking your back instead.
 ”Can I take you somewhere?”
 ”But I’m so comfortable.” Groaned with a small smile, ”Lay with me instead. -that sounds sort of wrong. I just meant for cuddles. For now…”
 ”I’ve got something planned for us.”
 ”Oh, yeah okay. Just a second Klitzy.” You grumbled as you slowly pushed yourself up, sat in your bed, and rubbed your eyes a little before looking at Klitz. His hair was sort of frizzy, wearing a sweatshirt and a jacket. Clearly just in from the cold weather outside by the way his cheeks were already lightly flushed. ”Cute.”
 ”You always call me cute, haven't got another word for me?”
 ”I call you other things too.” You remarked softly, leaning your head onto his shoulder and looking up at him. Slithering your arms around his body under the jacket.
 ”Could you guys please do this anywhere else?” Your roommate questioned, annoyance heard loudly within her tone. Klitz’s face instantly became a bit redder as his head turned towards her first and then back to you. Her comment made you feel forced to slip your head off of his shoulder and look over at her, her own eyes still focused on her desk.
 ”You’re just jealous, Ms. Single-lady.” A teasing tone in your voice and yet you decided to get moving. Hopped out of your bed and picked up Klitz’s hand, dragging him with you out of the bed. Only releasing his hand to put on your shoes at the door. ”But yes, we’re going. Klitz, show me the way!”
 He grabbed the hoodie hanging on your door, that he knows is actually his, and leads the two of you out of the room. Stuffing you into the hoodie right before you head outside. The sky just slightly darkened the way the sky usually looks late afternoons in the winter.
 ”S’cold outside.” He mumbled softly, hooking the hood of the hoodie over your head. His hands readjusting your hair so it’s all inside the hoodie too. ”C’mon babe.”
 ”Why babe?”
 ”You call me baby, why not babe?”
 ”I guess that’s fair. But, baby is cuter.”
 ”Is it?”
 ”It is. It’s probably scientifically proven that it is cuter.” You argued with a chuckle before adding on another argument to your thesis, ”Baby, honey, sweetpea, babe.” saying the first few words in a sing-songy voice before you scoffed out the word babe. Took his hand in yours and opened the door as you headed out into the Connecticut December cold.
 Both shaking and shivering once you got into the building Klitz led you to. One of the libraries. Your eyebrows instantly scrunched up in slight confusion. ”So what are we doing in the library without anything to study?”
 ”It’s a surprise.”
 ”They aren’t here already are they?” Matt, Danielle, and Eli couldn’t be here already, there were several days before they should be. Just the possibility of them being there made you shiver once again even after having warmed up.
 ”No.”
 ”Are we just going to sit and read something? I do have books in my dorm room y’know?” Klitz shook his head and started to lead you somewhere. ”Are we going to… find a corner to hide in together?” You asked with a more mischievous tone than before, Klitz’s eyes flitted to you quickly. His cheeks couldn’t get any redder by now but it felt like they did anyway. Then he shook his head again. ”So what are we doing?”
  ”Just wait a second.”
 ”Fine.” You relented with a chuckle at his slightly exasperated tone. His hand in yours, his hands still somehow warm even with the cold temperature you had walked through. He led you between the shelves, walking past students who were actually studying, and mumbled a quick embarrassed greeting to the librarian you bumped into. And yet, it felt like no time at all before you saw what he had led you to.
 It was one of the study rooms one could reserve for a few hours. The ones students would hoard when it’s time for exams.
 The study lamps so bright they’d give you a headache if you’re in there too long. The chairs so uncomfortable you’d have to stand up from time to time. The rooms usually crowded by the large table. But then Klitz opened the door.
 And it wasn’t cramped at all. No big table taking up most of the room, no uncomfortable chairs, and although the usual study lamp was there it was covered by something to dim the light. The room was considerably darker than usual without being black-out dark. The covered study lamp in one corner and Klitz’s backpack in the other.
 It looked cozy. It looked like a lot of work for a person who’d definitely be terrified of asking the librarians for permission for something like this. But… it was sweet. So infinitely, incredibly sweet.
 And you’re for once, in weeks, not going to be surrounded by other people. A room where you’d be able to only feel the presence of Klitz. No roommate in the same room or anything.
 ”I… I set it up for us.” It sounded more like a question than a statement. He lightly dropped your hand and gestured to the room before running one of his hands through his hair as an excuse to duck his head a little. Trying to avoid your eyes as they flickered around the room, trying to take everything in. ”Please say something?”
 Instead, you kissed him. Your hand reached up as you made him look at you. ”You’re-”
 ”Don’t say cute.”
 ”I wasn’t going to. You are. But… you’re just.. amazing.” You replied in awe to his slightly whiney retort as you rested your other hand on the side of his face, stroked his cheek once with your thumb before you put your hand under his chin instead and guided him back to you. Kissing him again.
 Maybe it was all cliche… VERY cliche. But that doesn’t mean that it isn’t also wonderful. Klitz had proven to be sort of kliche anyway. Giving you his hoodies, constantly trying to warm you up, and now some sort of grand gesture?
 ”So... what do you have planned?”
 ”Just us, here. I thought… y’know since you’ve been talking about the whole alone thing? Privacy and-” Klitz rambled before you cut his sentence off softly.
 ”Klitz, I get it, thank you.”
 ”Cool… So I have drinks and some snacks, though… I think we’re not allowed to eat them here?” Klitz explained after he’d released a sigh of relief. Sitting down and picking up his backpack and started to unload the items he’d brought with him.
 ~~~
 It was so quiet, Klitz’s heartbeat could be heard clearly as you rested your head on his chest. One of your hands twiddling with one of his. His other hand carefully stroking the back of your neck, his movements just a slight difference away from tickling you.
 You’d missed this. Being this close to him was one of the things you’d not gotten to do quite as much due to the whole privacy thing. PDA is an option, but even if you were to do public displays of affection it wouldn’t be like this.
 It would get strained, cuddling in the presence of roommates. And yet you’d have to sort of adjust to it if you wanted to be near him the last couple of weeks. So this, this was perfection.
 His hands almost always going around in an almost fidgeting pattern. Fidgeting in the way that he plays with your hair, or strokes your back, or traces his fingers on your waist. Meanwhilst you’re there, going along with his fidgeting. Linking your hands together one second before releasing them one second later, tracing your fingers against each others before maybe even settling somewhere else.
 ”Should I be anxious of the whole… meeting your best friends thing?” You had found yourself asking him once you felt calm enough to think about the anxiety inducing event.
 ”No. Not at all.” Klitz chuckled almost offhandedly as if it was ridiculous to even think that. ”Do you want me to call them and tell them to fuck off?” he then asked with a small smile. He knew that Eli would probably cause a fit. Well at least try to. Klitz hadn’t been there when Eli threw the tantrum at Matt about fucking Danielle ’for him’ but he could just imagine the scene he caused. And he could definitely imagine a similar ruckus about this.
 But this situation would entail Eli probably ambushing them with a visit instead of coming invited.
 ”I couldn’t ask you to do that. Besides, I- I sort of want to meet them and you’ve already probably tried to tell them to fuck off.”
 ”When Eli first said he wanted to meet you I just sort of said no.” He hadn’t expected it to work, it obviously hadn’t, but it had been worth a try to at least.
 But that sentence is definitely something that can be interpreted in several ways... Perfectly said for an overthinker to overthink about.
 ”Why?”
 ”I don’t… I don’t want you to have to meet them. Eli’s… a lot. And Matt is less but can sometimes also be more?” Klitz tried to explain before adding on ”And… you’re- you’re perfect.”
 ”You’re perfect too, Klitzy.” You mumbled back, pressing a kiss to his cheek. ”But. As I said, I do sort of want to meet them too. I’m just- It’s sort of terrifying? I mean it feels like a big deal? What if they don’t like me? What if… What if we have nothing to talk about?”
 ”That’s not going to be a problem. Eli will probably try to tell you everything he knows about me. In vivid detail.”
 ”Yeah?”
 ”Absolutely.”
 The urge to say ’I love you’ to Klitz is overwhelming at times.
 Wanting to see his reaction. Wanting to see if he’d say it back. Knowing your heart would probably break if he didn’t. Hoping to see his eyes sort of sparkle like they did the first time you kissed him, the first time you actually made out, the first time he saw you wearing his hoodie and the big the first time.
 But this moment wasn’t the moment to tell him.
 ~~~
 You'd fallen asleep on top of him just a while later. The two of you still nuzzled together in the middle of the study room. A pillow under his head, yours still rested on his chest, his heartbeat having lulled you to sleep.
 Although he knew that your day-to-day stess would come back. That the calm and the perfect feeling of this moment would not be able to last for forever. At least he could do this for you.
 He was also pretty suddenly proud of the fact that he had chosen one of the libraries with the latest closing time. Plenty of hours left until he'd have to wake you up. Plenty of hours before he'd pack up the room set it back to normal and walk you back to your dorm room. Plenty of hours before he'd sadly have to walk back to his own dorm room.
 He had thought about how Matt and Danielle live together. Thought about what that would be like with you. He knew that it'd be way too early for that at this point. But he still wanted it. But he could wait.
 ~ ~ ~
 He was going to Connecticut. Matthew Kiddman was going to Connecticut. Just because Eli thought it'd be fun to meet Klitz's girlfriend. Or rather Eli had demanded that he would get to meet her and then somehow made Matt think that he should go too.
 And now as he sat in his apartment he was mostly questioning how?
 He didn't mind going, he thought it would be fun after all. See Klitz, see Eli, go on a road trip with Danielle up to Connecticut, and of course the main thing; meet Klitz's girlfriend. Although road trips in the winter seemed a bit risky when he truly thought about it. But it felt too late to change by the time they had packed their things into Danielle’s car and were just fixing the last-minute things.
 ”You ready?”
 ”Yeah, why wouldn't I be?” He questioned back as he sat down in the passenger seat of her car. A packed duffel for the both of them sitting in the backseat. The car was still in a freezing temperature as it hadn't warmed up fully yet.
 ”I didn't mean anything more than 'ready to go?'.” She smirked at him and breathed out a small chuckle. ”Are you nervous about this?”
 ”No.” He started but Danielle could see the usual 'Matt mulling it over' look on his face, ”I don't know. I just hope it goes well.”
 ”Perfectionist.”
 ”Am not.”
 ”You are. But it's sweet.”

 Eli was sitting in his first-class plane seat bouncing his leg constantly. Thank fuck there was no one sitting next to him. He could just imagine the annoyed stares of disdain he'd get whilst sitting there bouncing his leg, chewing his gum, and reading through a magazine loudly flipping the pages.
 Instead, the stare of disdain came from at least a row away.
 The older lady looked back over her shoulder to stare at the young man she seemed convinced had cheated his way into first class. The whole situation just made him wish that he would've brought a naughtier magazine. One that wasn't all rumors, tips, and interviews with people who worked within showbiz but not his kind of showbiz. But he didn't really feel like joining the mile-high club on his own.
 But he also didn't know what the hell to do for the rest of the total about seven-hour flight. He had at least three hours left and nothing to do. Except to maybe start talking to the lady. Nah.
 Eli was happy with how life after high school looked for now. He'd gotten to skip college by climbing straight to success through the sex-ed video. His calling card. He'd moved to Los Angeles, done a lot of work, and felt like he'd proved himself.
 Though his parents maybe weren't the happiest over how he got his success that only made him wonder if they had truly seen their son. Whilst he talked about film school and going into directing and so on the only movies he "studied" in his room for his future career were the kinds that were at least 80 percent filled with moans. Though they probably barely knew that, it felt obvious at the time for him.
 He does like other movies too. But he has expertise within pornos. Now even more so.

 They’d be here within hours. HERE within hours.
 ”Matt gets here first, with...”
 ”Danielle.”
 ”Right Danielle. And then Eli gets to the airport like a little later?”
 ”Yeah.”
 ”So we meet up with Matt and Danielle and then go pick up Eli?” You questioned softly although your actions were showing the anxiety rushing through you. Your feet quickly paced back and forth in front of Klitz as he sat by his desk. His roommate lying in bed taking a nap or something. Klitz's eyes were intently focused, or at least trying to focus, on your face. ”Klitz?” he nods.
 ”Yeah exactly.”
 ”Okay. What then?”
 ”They need to check-in at their hotel.”
 ”Right. Of course.”
 ”Then we see what they want to do.”
 ”Cool. Sounds good.”
 ”Can you calm down for a second?”
 ”I don't know.” Your feet continuously paced, probably just seconds from burning a hole in his floor. Klitz stands up, putting his hands on your shoulders before bringing you into a hug. One of his hands familiarly stroking your back whilst the other just rests on your head letting your head nuzzle into the crook of his neck. ”Thank you.”
 With you finally not pacing and in his arms, he leads the two of you over to his bed. Making you lay down. ”It's all going to be fine.”
 ”Yeah.”
 Now you just need to believe that.
 ~~~
 You should be freezing your ass off. Klitz seemingly was.
 The two of you standing there waiting around one of the campus parking lots. Keeping an eye open for any car at all that might be them, Danielle and Matt. Klitz had mentioned something about either a blue beetle car or a BMW. But for now, you were just there waiting and keeping your eyes open for anything at all.
 The temperature absolutely freezing, at least it seemed to be by Klitz's reaction. You should be freezing your ass off but instead, you found that the adrenaline, nervousness, and the anxiety-bouncing of your limbs heated you right up.
 Klitz wasn't as 'lucky', he wasn't nervous about meeting his friends. He was more nervous about the moment that would come later when they'd be settled in and start telling you all kinds of things. He was slightly stressed but that was mostly over the fact that Danielle and Matt needed to get here so that all of you could get to the airport.
 Either way, he was freezing, even though you were quite clearly trying to warm him up the way he usually tried to warm you up whilst out in the cold weather. Your hands rubbing up and down his arms to try and warm him through friction or gathering his hands into yours and quickly for a second taking off his gloves and blow a hot breath or two on them.
 ”I'm sorry.”
 ”What for?"”
 ”We didn't have to be out in the parking lot that early. I was just stressing you because I'm stressed.” By now it had gone enough time that it actually was reasonable for you to be out there waiting. But you definitely didn't have to be out there as early as you had been. ”I feel guilty.”
 ”Don't. You're just nervous, it's fine. They'll be here soon anyway and then instead, we'll be sweating in a cramped car.” Klitz reasoned, somehow still calming you down even when it feels slightly impossible. ”They said they were going to be here soon anyway.”
 ”Wait, that's them right?” It was a light blue beetle car and it was also the first car that had come through this parking lot for at least half an hour.
 ”Yeah, that should be them.” Klitz stretched his arm up to wave at the car.
 Klitz had no idea how he was going to greet his best friends.
 He'd been thinking about it ever since they said they'd come to visit. He hadn't told them that. But this whole thing of not seeing each other for several months was completely new for the group, the tripod. They had maybe spent a month away from each other before. But now they had spent several months from each other. Though of course, they had still been in contact through phone calls that were at least once a week.
 Thankfully Matt took care of the small problem before Klitz felt that he had to worry about it too much.
 "Klitzy!" Matt called the nickname loudly as he sprung up out of Danielle's car and leaped over, clapping his hand on Klitz's shoulder. Danielle stepped out of the car in a slightly more suave way. The two of you met in eye contact and gave each other a nod before both curiously looking with a smile on your lips at the interaction between the best friends.
 "Matt!"
 Oh Geez
 It felt quite clear that both of them had no clue how they were going to greet each other after both so long apart and having just spoken on the phone just minutes before.
 "You can hug each other you know that right?" Danielle teased with a laugh, meeting your eyes again quickly before looking back over at the boys just as they shrugged and gathered in a tight but quick hug.
 "Cute."
 "Agreed," Danielle responded, the two of you walking towards each other. "Danielle," She smiled as she introduced herself, you returning the favor, giving her a smile and your name.
 "So, this is the girlfriend?" Matt asked walking up to you and Danielle with his arm around Klitz. Klitz chucking out a 'yup' with a satisfied smile. "Nice to finally meet the girl I've been hearing about constantly since probably day one of Yale."
 "What?" Came out in disbelief, a big smile on your lips but your eyes clearly searching for what he meant. You had met Klitz pretty early on and then decided to just cling onto him but you hadn't ever really thought about it all from his perspective. "Really?" You asked Klitz, a disbelieving but hopeful look on your face that you hoped didn't show how much you hoped it was true.
 "I mean he's been talking our ears off." Matt started again before adding, "In a good way."
 "Yeah." Klitz chuckled shyly in response to your question, ducking his head a little but risking a glance at your face. "Don't call me cute again."
 "Why not?" Matt questioned with his eyebrows furrowed, looking up at Klitz in confusion.
 "She always calls me cute."
 "Good. She should. Why wouldn't she?" Danielle laughed, already admiring the way the two of you interact.
 "Right? Thank you. He doesn't get it." You respond whilst shaking your head before walking over to him, placing both of your hands on either side of his face, "Like look at this face, cute!"
 Looking back at Danielle for a second before looking back at Klitz, repeating a thought you've probably had run through your mind a thousand times by now 'flustered Klitz is the best kind of Klitz'. Placed a kiss on his cheek before removing your hands and instead just taking one of his hands in yours.
"We - we should probably get going to the airport." Is the sentence Klitz decided to use, stumbling over the words, to try and get the focus off of him.
  "Sounds good, dude." Matt agrees with a smug smirk on his face like Klitz had seen so many times before. Matt moved the duffel bag in the backseat to the trunk and you and Klitz climbed into the backseat. The drive from campus over to the international airport was an hour-long. You had dreaded it in the days leading up to this moment but once inside the car, settled next to Klitz and easily finding a conversation with both Danielle and Matt?
 It barely felt like 20 minutes. The music that Danielle was in control of almost made it feel more like a summer road trip. Feeling as if the four of you were on the way to something else than just the airport to pick Eli up.
 But then there you were and the nervousness was coming back. Klitz had described Eli as 'a lot', which isn't really calming.
 Sure you had met Matt, met Danielle, but Eli was on another level. More intense, perhaps more difficult to impress, definitely more dramatic. You had heard the dramatic screams that he usually shouted from time to time through the phone when speaking to Matt and Klitz.
 You had heard about his eccentric behaviour in general and heard more about what happened when Eli found out about Danielle. Heard about the 'fuck her for me, Matt!' shouts shouted in public in front of people who didn't even know the context, shouted in front of strangers. It sounded... intense to be sure of.
And yet... you were sort of excited. Both to meet Eli but also to see the trio together. To see the group that they had apparently nicknamed 'the tripod'.
The nickname had slipped from Klitz's mouth one evening as he was just talking about them. Their little group. About how they'd grown up together. Eli was just as excentric when he was 10, Matt perhaps a little less careful than he'd grow to be in his teenage years. Klitz didn't really describe himself but it was clear by his storytelling that he had been less shy as a kid. The confident side of him was even more prominent in the ten-year-old version of him.
He hadn't even realized when he had used the nickname for the group, his eyes widening in response when you'd repeated the name. He didn't seem to use it often, had told you that the nickname itself was pretty new. In fact the nickname sort of formed as a part of trying to convince Klitz to help Matt and Eli do the sex-ed video.
Either way you were finally going to see the tripod in... action?
The quick back and forth of conversations between best friends that you'd heard from afar would now be right in front of you. Within just minutes. Danielle pulled into the parking lot closest to the arrivals entrance. All four of you getting out of the car, Klitz instantly checking his watch.
"We should hurry."
"Yeah?" Matt questioned, trying to check in on the situation that Klitz suddenly seemed very aware of.
"His plane was supposed to land like a few minutes ago. He might already be there, just waiting for us." Klitz shrugged although the shrug didn't seem all that careless.
You let Matt and Danielle lead the way, practically hiding behind Klitz with his hand in yours. Eli was easy to find. Mostly because the scream of "DUDE!" was heard along with a loud stomping sort of run heading right towards you. "Where is she?"
Suddenly Matt and Danielle stepped to the side. Klitz made a gesture towards you with his free hand whilst the other squeezed yours before letting go of it to instead rest his arm around your shoulder again. That was all quite to be expected, what wasn't expected was the hug that felt more like a tackle.
 ”Nice to meet you. We have a lot to talk about.” Eli’s voice sounded just as dramatic business-man like as you’d heard him through Klitz’s phone. And before you knew it, Eli had pushed Klitz’s arm off of you, linked your arms and started walking towards the exit with you. But added one last thing before he let you respond, ”Eli.”
"You're... exactly how I've pictured you." You responded, your nervousness apparently gone for the moment that that came out of your mouth.
"I love that. So, how has our little Timmy been treating you?"
"Timmy?"
 "Klitz!" Eli suddenly shrieked, letting go of your arm and turning around.
 If Eli ever had to be in theatre or play a part in anything you suddenly had a sneaking suspicion he'd play an overdramatic relative. Treating you with love, but so much flair and drama in so far everything you've heard him say.
 Matt had gone and picked up Eli's bag where he'd left it before he'd ran over towards you all. Klitz had been following you and Eli closely behind enough to hear every word so far.
His hands in his pockets in an attempt of trying to not look like he'd been listening in on every word in your conversation. His previous walking behind you and Eli was another attempt at that, trying to look as if he didn't care that much about walking along with you guys but still keeping up the pace of the mad-man pace Eli had demonstrated seconds before.
 "Hmm?" He hummed in a questioning tone as if he didn't know what Eli was going to 'scold' him about in his next sentence.
 "You haven't told her?"
 "What?"
 "Timothy Klitz! How dare you?"
 "Timothy Klitz?" You questioned in confusion, looking to Klitz, was his name really Timothy or was Eli just fucking with you? The question of whether he's just fucking with you or not would probably come up a lot more during this visit...
 "My first name." He finally admitted with a sigh, one of his hands quickly coming up to the back of his neck to try and give himself an excuse to duck his head. But before you could respond-
 "Why didn't you tell her?"
 "I was going to! I probably should've before this weekend though. It's always just a matter of minutes with you, dude."
 "It's a cute name." You noted with a small smile, Klitz's head instantly turning towards you. His previous frown aimed towards Eli then turned into a small responding smile.
 "Yeah?"
 "Yeah. But- you... you prefer Klitz?"
 "I'm fine with either, but 'm almost more used to Klitz by now."
 "Okay," You started before trying to put in a dramatic tone as you turned to face Eli, "so tell me all about our Timmy." linking your arms and starting to walk towards the exit again.
 "I like you."
 "Thank you."
 "So, how has our little Timmy been treating you?"
 "Very well, very well indeed."
 "He isn't hurting you with his-" Knowing exactly what Eli was about to say and trying not to be stared at in public you interrupt him.
 "No." Thankfully stepping out of the airport just seconds after.
 "Good."
 "Why did I know what you were going to ask?"
  "You know me now. We've clicked." Eli said before looking over at Klitz who'd now started to walk beside you instead of behind the two of you. "Did you hear that Klitz? We've clicked!"
The Visits ~ Planning (part 1/?)
Eddie Munson x Fem!reader
Link to reading this on Ao3       Link to my main masterlist
Link to The Visits masterlist
A/N - This first part is hella short but it’s mostly sort of a prologue ish thing? All of the other parts are going to be much longer though. The plan was to start posting this once I’ve officially written it all but I desperately want to get this out before volume two comes bc I am so not ready for vol.2... Jfc.
Summary - Eddie’s been your best friend for as long as you can remember. Even nowadays when you’re at college several hours away he wants and makes the effort to visit. And now he wants to visit for a whole week.
The last part(s) are planned to be 18+ so... I recommend not reading this if you’re a minor but if you want to read the chapters leading up to it then fine but dni with the ones I actually warn are going to be 18+ thnks.
Spring, 1986
”I want to visit.”
”Yeah?”
”A week. Start of summer break.”
”A week? You’ve only been here like a day at most before. Are you sure you’re not going to get sick of me?” Well, that maybe wasn’t completely true. But the first visit had just been a weekend, where he got there late on Friday night and left mid-Sunday. And the second was just one night.
”We literally spend almost every day together when you’re in Hawkins-”
”True.”
”- and I would like to get there and not have to drive home the day right after or to just have one single day of not being on the road.” He explained, his voice sounding rushed but trying to talk slowly as to let every ’argument’ settle in, and sighing before he added ”And… I miss you.” He did have some very good arguments. And having Eddie in your apartment for more than just a day, in the city you honestly loved more than you’d ever loved Hawkins? That would make the city infinitely better. After all, Eddie was one of the factors that made Hawkins way better.
”You do know you’re just going to sort of delay my arrival to Hawkins if you visit when summer break begins?”
”Perfect, I can drive you back so you don’t have to sit on that fucking bus again.”
”Eddie. The bus is fine.” It was expensive, uncomfortable, and had once caused you to get sick for two weeks because someone with a cold they shouldn’t have been traveling with sat right next to you. So it wasn’t great but it was fine.
”But it would cost way less to just come with me. The trip would be almost completely free in fact.”
”Almost completely?”
”Well I do expect you to pay for snacks.” Eddie scoffed with a laugh with a tone that told you that it was clearly obvious. You loved those kinds of moments where you could hear the grin on his face through the phone. The sort of moments where you could just picture him.
The grin on his face, his jacket thrown just somewhere on the floor, him laying on his bed, probably smoking, and some music playing way too quietly for being metal music in the background. You missed laying there beside him, sharing the smoke or just talking shit, feeling the warmth of his body next to you.
”Of course…” You chuckled in response before letting out a sigh and continuing, ”Fine Eddie. I’ll let you drive me back. So, when are you visiting?”
~~~
You’d known Eddie for longer than you could remember.
Which meant that you remembered the fluffy-haired child who’d smile at almost every person he met. That you remembered the more sheltered kid who’d buzzed his hair one day impulsively. That you remembered the teenager who’d rant to you about music and almost force you to all of his band’s performances. And that you know the Eddie who still reminds you so much of that fluffy-haired kid.
But all of this also meant you had seen him through the process of him building up the walls to try and protect himself from others. Seen him stop being that child who’d smile at everyone. Seen how it affected him when the kids at school first started calling him a freak.
It wasn’t like any of it affected your friendship, not in a bad way anyway. It was all just cruel kids, or just in general cruel people. You were just happy you were there for him. That you could be the person he’d biked to in the middle of the night when he was 12. Scared shitless because of a nightmare he’d had when his uncle was working his regular night shift. Or be the person who’d constantly shout back insults at the bullies whenever they called him a freak until he pretty much forced you to stop doing that.
Eddie Munson might just be one of the most valuable people in your life. And that is scary as fuck when you’re both still growing up and currently not even doing it together anymore.

The Visits - The first visit (2/?)
Eddie Munson x Fem!reader

A/N - This is way longer than I first pictured it ever being, hence why it had taken some time. But here it is. Also it is official now that this is non-canon bc in no way am I putting the heartbreaking angst that the suffer brothers put us through in vol. 2 in this fic.
Summary - The very first visit Eddie does to your college is just within the start of it all. Just a little over a month after he had helped you move in. Curious to see what you’d been up to and curious to see more of the new town than he had the last time.

Fall, 1984
It didn’t sound like a good plan, like at all. But you didn’t argue against it. Eddie was insistent on driving over for the weekend. Several hours to be spent in his van just to see you. And you would obviously let him. You wanted to see him. But, you still felt guilty.
You’d graduated just earlier this year, with teary eyes and a sad smile forced on your lips. Because he wasn’t there next to you. You knew it wasn’t the end of the world that Eddie wouldn’t graduate with you. And it did feel silly to be teary-eyed for the ’wrong’ reasons on your graduation day, not out of joy but out of sadness. But it was meant to be different. That moment was supposed to be the moment.
The day the two of you could say you were free from Hawkins High and run like hell out of that cursed town. Freedom, together.
  Though you were going to college either way, so a loosely defined freedom.
  You’d playfully threatened Eddie that he’d have to visit. No matter what. At least one visit during your time at college. It wasn’t something that you felt was necessary. You knew it wasn’t something you absolutely needed to happen… But, you wanted him there. To feel like he was in that part of your life too.
  But this particular visit didn’t feel timely. It wouldn’t be a good time for him to visit. Even if he argued the opposite.
  It was the weekend before a test he’d been stressing about in several rants over the phone. He argued that he needed a visit for ’morale’, for you to ’give him strength’ as he himself put it. When you’d rather he stayed back in Hawkins to study and come over the next weekend to celebrate. But he wouldn’t listen.
  Or well… he listened but Eddie Munson is sometimes quite stubborn. And he seemed completely set on this. Besides… Eddie can convince you rather easily.
  ”So what do you want to do when you get here?” You asked, sat in your dorm room bed as your fingers fidgeted with the book you’d been reading before Eddie had called you. Playing with the pages, going to the very last page to see how many there were. But trying your hardest not to look at the words.
  ”Be with you, obviously.”
  ”Yeah, but do you want to go to like a party or something?”
  ”No,” His voice was almost whining as he protested the simple suggestion, ”just you and me.”
  ”That’s why you’re my best friend.”
  ”Because I don’t feel like going to a frat house and see people flirting with my best friend when I’m there to spend time with her?”
  ”We could probably find a party that’s not at a frat house… maybe? It feels like it would be hard now but we could try.” You argued back before adding ”Also, they don’t flirt with me.” with a groan, your roommate Randi looked over at you with furrowed brows and intense curiosity laced in every feature of her face. A shrug was offered in return for her look before you laid back in your bed to stare up at the ceiling.
  ”They do. Anyway, I just want to spend time with you. Show me around the place or something? That sounds like fun.”
  ”Eddie Munson wants a college tour? Oh my god. Do you really miss me that much?”
  ”I want to see how you’re living, it’s not that weird.”
  ”I guess. So you get here like late Friday, right?”
  ”Or I could get there a little earlier?” You immediately knew what he was insinuating with his smug suggestion and you knew that he was probably wearing that stupid grin that would've convinced you in less than a second if you saw it.... but you really didn't want him to skip school, you felt guilty enough as it was.
  ”And I would kick your butt for doing so? I’d rather avoid that, thank you very much. Get here late Friday, we’ll hang out and do the tour on Saturday and then you go back home on Sunday?” You chuckled, although hoping to get it across that it wasn’t entirely a joke, you would be mad if he skipped school now even after he’d been held back.
  It felt weird doing that. Trying to help him but not wanting to be pushy. Trying to encourage him without accidentally patronizing him. You just care about him. And, if he'd only graduate he could finally get out of Hawkins. Get to do what he actually wanted with his life. Or at least get the chance to figure out what that was without being stuck under the pressure of high school.
  He'd been doing pretty good so far. You knew that he could probably do better but he was doing good. And that was enough. It wasn't like there was some need for him to be the absolute best. He didn't need, and probably didn't want, to be the valedictorian.
  ”Eddie? I’ll see you Friday?” Once snapped out of your thoughts you noticed that Eddie had been quiet for a while.
  ”Yeah, good night, baby.” He responded sleepily before he hung up. Your eyes slightly widened at the term of endearment but felt yourself melt by the sound of it in his sleepy voice.
  ”Randi?” You looked over at her, already sitting cross-legged towards you with a curious smile on her lips. ”He called me baby.”
  ”You’re kidding?” Her jaw slacks before her lips quirked up into an even bigger grin than earlier. ”Has he done that before?”
  ”Well… no, not really? He’s called me other things. But not baby.”
  ”Do- Do you think it means something?" She asked it cautiously, trying to act as if she wasn't overjoyed at the fact of hearing something like that. Trying to bite down on her smile as she kept her eyes on you, observing.
  Randy wasn’t the type of person who’d argue that people of the opposite sex couldn’t be best friends.
  However, as she had told you the day after she had first (and so far the only time) met Eddie when he had helped you move in; she was the type of person who’d argue that people of the opposite sex, that are both attracted to the opposite sex, and are best friends… would at least catch some sort of feelings for the other person at one point or another. Whether that was a small crush, a random wet dream, or a full-on love thing.
  Which meant a lot of questions and her asking you to tell her anything and everything. As if your life had become some romcom she needed to hear the whole story even if there wasn't any 'rom' in it so far. As if she could just sit there opposite of you on her bed with popcorn bowl in lap as you told her everything. You didn't really go against it though. Telling her everything, even the dumb shit like when you and Eddie had argued about an album over the phone.
  ”No, I don’t.” You shrugged and shook your head trying to do so as convincingly as you could. It wasn’t that you thought that meant anything. But whenever she’d bring up her theory… well you wouldn’t feel as sure that she was wrong.
  Eddie was… well Eddie.
  You’d adored him since forever. Just… not in that way. And every time her words wormed themselves into your brain you convinced yourself over and over again that it was just that. Words, about a situation she knew nothing about.
  But something had shifted since you’d moved. Call it having a clearer head or… just getting to see the relationship or him objectively but… something had shifted.
  ~~~
  You’d first told Eddie that you would wait by the parking lot, and walk together to the dorms. But because of his insistence and him telling you that he had no idea when he’d ’really’ be there… well, you just had to sit in your dorm room and wait.
  ”When do you think he’ll be here?”
  ”We both sort of guessed that he’d be here around nine-ish?” You shrugged as you sat on your bed, shoes laced and ready to go. Ready to run out and greet Eddie. Eyes focused on the open window as if the view or the currently quiet world would give you some sort of indication of when he’d get there. ”By the way… You need to promise me to not like… tell him about your theory or something, okay?”
  ”Why not?”
  ”Because then he’ll know that I’ve heard it. And… I don’t know. If he knows that you still believe that, he’ll probably think I agree with you or something.” You floundered, trying to find anything that’s logical to say in this situation.
  ”But you do agree with me, don’t you?”
  ”No! I don’t, Randi, okay?”
  ”You seemed to agree just the other day…” The grin on her face was wide and teasing, just one step away from wiggling her eyebrows at you and dancing with her shoulders cornily. ”Also, even if you don’t agree with me it doesn’t mean the theory itself is flawed. It just means it hasn't happened for you yet, huh ’baby’?”
  ”Oh my god.” The act of grabbing a pillow and groaning into it was something you thought was just reserved for situations with couch pillows when your parents said embarrassing things. Apparently, the act also went for when your friends were slightly annoying… And somewhat… correct.
  It wasn’t like you’d never heard about two best friends turning into boyfriend and girlfriend. It just… wasn’t all that common. Or you just didn’t have that big a social circle. Either way, the most ’occurring’ proof for that theory was usually high school sweethearts who broke up like one month into being at separate colleges. But yes the theory was somewhat proved by those people anyway.
  ”Could you just… not?” You pleaded, ”You’re only going to see him for like a few hours total, you can survive without telling him.”
  ”Fine.” She finally sighed, ”I guess I could survive not telling him about my mastermind theory, that he should get to know about.” Randi knew she exaggerated the whole idea but she couldn't help but to because of the way you reacted to it all.
  ”Randi–” You groaned almost pulling the pillow up to your face again to muffle it. And thankfully, to your own rescue from Randi, you then heard a loud swerving car outside. It felt ridiculous to see that as a typical Eddie stereotype but it so was. As if there weren't other speedy weird drivers out there. But... ”That- That could be him.” You chuckled, suddenly pulled from the slightly sourer behavior.
  ”So, go get him!”
  It was around 9:30, which was about the time that you’d expected him to get there. So… considering all of that, you rushed down as fast as possible. Pushing past the few students you saw. Got to the entrance and there he stood, already having been let in by someone. Although in the rush over to him you didn’t even think about whoever the fuck would be standing there in the entrance too.
  ”Eddie!” It was practically a scream as you called his name, jogging over and hugging him as soon as you got close enough.
  ”Hi.”
  ”Hi!” Your voice still in a chipper excited tone, ”Sorry, it just feels like I haven’t seen you in forever.”
  ”We saw each other like a month ago, Sweetheart.” His voice almost always just breezes past that pet name, as if it’s really your name but softer.
  ”So?” You shrugged, parting from the hug just slightly so you both could still have an arm around each other, his around your shoulders and yours still hugging him tightly to your side. Your head slightly leaning against the arm around you. ”Time must go way faster in Hawkins if you think this month has been like nothing.”
  ”Is time moving slowly here? You bored?” He questioned the usual grin displayed on his face like almost always. Time usually does move quicker if you’re having fun… but that wasn’t how you’d meant it.
  ”No! I just… I don’t know. It didn’t feel like nothing to me.”
  ”I never said it felt like nothing to me.”
  ”Good.” You huffed out and bumped your hip into his side. You almost had to force your eyes to look away from Eddie, enjoying the sight of him way too much at the moment. So you looked to where you’d just come from and this time actually noticed whoever had let Eddie inside the dorm building. Tyler, fuck.
  Tyler isn’t really anyone. He was just in several of your courses to come and one that already had been. He isn’t a douchebag per se but he definitely isn’t the most polite person ever. He interrupted the lectures, but in a way he himself definitely thought was okay, trying to argue against the professor when they were just teaching. And he was even worse during seminars.
  And there he stood, leaned up against one of the walls and a smirk on his face.
  It wasn’t like he was leaned up against the wall to try and stay out of the way in any way. He wanted to be in the way. Wanted to know who Eddie was, obviously, but didn’t seem to have asked Eddie himself just yet. It felt pretty apparent that he’d waited on the person who’d come to ’pick him up’ so to speak. You just hoped he wouldn’t be as much of a jerk as you knew he could sometimes be.
  ”Tyler, hi!” It came out more lackluster than you were hoping for. You’d been hoping for the greeting to sound polite, somewhat chipper, and definitely not like you didn’t want to see him at this particular moment. Tried to hide the truth.
  ”Hi,” His voice was smug, eyes focused on you and practically ignoring Eddie completely, ”so, who is this fella?”
  ”Tyler, this is Eddie. Eddie, this is Tyler. We have a few classes together.”
  "Nice to meet you, man." He nodded towards Tyler before looking over at you with a slightly questioning look, "I don't think I've heard about a Tyler?"
  Eddie was, thankfully, bullshitting. He'd heard a lot about Tyler in rants about how annoying he was. But at that moment it really didn't matter whether Eddie had said that as to fuck with him or to protect your shit-talking, you were just happy he did.
  ”I don’t think I’ve heard about an Eddie?” Obviously fucking not. Why the hell would you give him the time of day to even hear a smidge more about you and your life than you had to.
  "Well I mean yeah, because we rarely talk Tyler." You felt like rolling your eyes and walking away but you tried to keep up the polite demeanor as best as you could. Although you knew that your tone had already turned a bit more sour. But from what you knew about Tyler, he did not read people well, especially girls.
  "We should change that."
  "Now that our introductions are over..." Eddie started talking before you'd had to say something in response to Tyler. "I'm tired, I want to go to sleep. Let's go, Sweetheart." His voice turned somewhat dramatically whiney and started to walk before Tyler could say anything else, leading you along with him.
  ”Thank you for doing that.” You mumbled in gratitude once Tyler was out of earshot.
  ”I really am tired. I don’t have a clue what you’re talking about.” Eddie’s voice just slightly teasing but the smug smile on his lips told you that he knew exactly how he’d saved you from that conversation continuing.
  ~
  Upon entering the dorm room Randi practically jumped up from the bed and rushed over. Seeing Randi’s excited and chipper demeanor next to Eddie’s tired and slightly confused by the enthusiasm demeanor almost made you laugh.
  ”Hi!”
  ”Hi.”
  ”Eddie, Randi. Randi, Eddie. You’ve met before.” You introduced them, still feeling as if you had to actively keep yourself from laughing.
  "Indeed we have, how you been doing roomie?" Eddie sounded amused, he shook her hand once and quickly before venturing over to your side of the dorm. Investigating what had changed within the little over a month's time since he'd helped you move everything in. "Jesus christ- these look boring, where's the music?" He'd scoffed once his eyes had caught sight of your bookshelf, full of course literature.
  Without even questioning his investigation or the way he'd started it before Randi could respond to his greeting, you walked over and opened the drawer that was at the bottom of the shelf. The tapes clinked against each other as you opened it, Eddie's eyes widened and his jaw dropped slightly at your collection. He had seen it before, if anything he knew it well... but considering the tapes now overtook the majority of the rather large bottom drawer in contrast to the smaller collection you'd had on one of the shelves when he helped you move in... you'd clearly expanded your collection. Not a drastic amount but definitely enough to be noticed.
  He'd organized the smaller collection when you'd first moved in. He'd argued how it was essential that they were in a certain order, whilst you'd argued it didn't matter as long as you found your favorites. But then he had sat down in front of the shelf and started loading them onto one of the shelves, in his order. And you felt as if you couldn't argue against it when you saw his tongue peek out a little upwards as he focused on that.
  You'd tried to keep up the organization when moving them all down into the drawer, just two weeks after you'd first moved in, the drawer where there definitely was more space. But you'd surrendered to your type of 'organization', meaning keeping your favorites most easily accessible.
  "There's a really good store just some blocks away, okay?" You'd raised your eyebrows as if arguing that the expansion of your collection was clearly logical, but chuckled too. Knowing that you'd maybe gone a little overboard. Eddie's widened eyes were still on you but his lips turned into a big grin. "We can go there tomorrow."
  ”Good.” Eddie nodded before walking away from the shelf.
  You'd loaned a cheap air mattress for Eddie's visit, someone down the hall having one for some reason. You knew it wouldn't be all that comfortable but... well, whilst you and Eddie had slept in the same bed a couple of times... you didn't want Randi to be uncomfortable... That was obviously the reason why.
  You’d laid it out earlier and tried to pump it up yourself but Randi was the one who figured it out thankfully. Then you’d made up the bed. ”Ah, my humble abode.” Eddie said as he carefully sat down on the air mattress and pulled off his shoes and the jean vest and leather jacket duo.
  ”Thanks for not jumping onto it.”
  ”I would never.” Eddie argued back dramatically, acting wounded as if your accusation was completely unbased. Although you know how Eddie could practically be attacking a bed by how he’d usually ’lay’ down on them.
  ”Yes, you would.”
  ”You guys are so cute.”
  ”Randi.” You groaned at her comment, throwing the pillow you’d placed on Eddie’s air mattress at her.  Which made Eddie yelp out a ’hey!’ although he wasn’t near it yet. Obviously just disgruntled at the fact that ’his’ pillow had been thrown. ” Let's just go to bed. I’m tired.” Your voice had muttered the words and almost yawned at the end as you started to get ready for bed. None of you talked during that process of changing clothes and getting ready for bed until a yawned ’good night’ emerged out of you, the two others returning a way more awake ’good night’ back.
  But just minutes after you'd heard Eddie ask you a question, although not hearing the actual question.”Hm?”
  ”You sleeping?”
  ”I was just about to, why?”
  ”Which new tape is your favorite?” It was a silly question, one that could totally wait until morning. One that didn’t need to be asked or answered at this exact moment… but, you wanted to. So Eddie had successfully hooked you into a conversation that lasted at least another hour.
  During the conversation he'd moved the air mattress closer to you, and said something about how he obviously didn't want to wake Randi up. So there he was, quite closely next to you, though there was some distance because of the height difference between your bed and his thin air mattress. But still way closer than you'd initially placed the mattress and him clearly showing how close he wanted to be.
  You whispered back and forth; about the tapes, the store where you'd gotten them, and thanked him again for covering for you in front of Tyler. But when you yawned for what felt like the thousandth time he 'relented'.
  ”We should sleep.”
  ”No, ’m not-” yawn, ”- sleepy, ’m fine.” You grumbled, struggling to keep your eyes open enough to even see Eddie who probably looked way more awake.
  ”You’re almost falling asleep while you’re talking, Sweetheart.” He chuckled as he reached one of his hands up to grab onto the one of yours that was just lingering on the cusp of the bed. Messily tangling your fingers together to hold your hand in his. ”Sleep.”
  ~~~
  You were very thankful to have woken up first. Mostly due to the fact that Eddie's hand was still entwined with yours. Had it been Randi who'd woken up first you were sure you'd have woken up to the sound of a photograph flash and a giggle. The hypothetical picture probably getting stuck onto your dorm room door for Randi to ever so often bring it up in conversation.
  But you were also happy you'd woken up before Eddie. His hand still reached up to hold yours in the same upwards position and had been for hours. You just knew his hand would feel numb once awake. So you tried setting it down, gently, hoping that some blood would rush back to it before he woke up.
  These thoughts weren't necessarily the first thoughts that entered your head that morning. Especially since you'd first then noticed how his hands had been somewhat 'caught in the nude' by the way his rings weren't on. Instead, the silver accessories rested on his upper chest next to the guitar pick, all of them resting on the metal necklace around his neck.
  You weren't completely new to the sight, but it wasn't often that one could see Eddie Munson with his rings not on. And you hadn't noticed it when he did that last night. The first time you'd seen him slip his rings onto the necklace rather than put them into a pocket of some sort you'd questioned him. Asked him why.
  Eddie's sort of a softie. Albeit with a hard shell facing most people. But even with his softer side often being exposed to you most of the time... he usually doesn't come right out and say what something means to him. Not in an outright way anyhow. So when questioned about the rings still on in some way even whilst sleeping... he'd told you the story of each ring. Although you'd known the story of two of them already.
  It felt obvious at that moment that it was a comfort to him. Knowing that he still had them on in a way comforted him. Although wearing the rings around his neck couldn't have been the most comfortable thing ever... They were there. Along with the necklace.
  Being the first to wake up, you took your time. Took your time thanking the unconscious Randi that she hadn't set her alarm yesterday, as she hadn't needed to. Took your time to breathe in the new morning, as cliche as that sounds. Took your time to stretch out and rest as your body slowly became more and more awake. Took your time to look at Eddie, look at the rings, the way his bangs were even more of a mess when he's asleep, and the way he just seemed so peaceful.
  You wanted to let him continue sleeping. Maybe fix his bangs gently whilst his eyes were still closed, take more time to appreciate that you actually had him there with you for the first time since you'd moved in. Eddie wasn't by any means a quiet sleeper though, small snores and ever so often he shuffled on the bed a little. But he still looked peaceful, just... in an Eddie way. But you also wanted to actually spend time with him.
  "Ed?" You started softly, there were usually one of two ways he could wake up; like a sloth, groggy and mumbling nonsense, or instantly sat up in bed as if he was late for school and didn't have a single second to waste. The second one was more frequent when woken up by an alarm clock... which isn't that much of a surprise. But it is another reason you were very thankful that Randi hadn't set her alarm yesterday. "Eddie?"
  "Hm?" A groggy awakening, perfect, his hands were already reaching up to wipe at his eyes before stretching his arms out, hands above his head. The rings clinked against each other.
  "We should get up." You made sure to still keep your voice rather quiet.
  "Let's-mm- go. Let's go." He hummed back with a yawn as he stretched once again.
  ~~~ ~~~
  "So, the owner is... cool. I mean- he's a bit judgy? But honestly I think I've spent enough money to make him not question you." You didn't want Eddie to be caught completely off guard by Burt, the owner. You wanted his full reaction to the actual store but Burt himself... well you could at least try to 'warn' him a little. Your arms were linked as you walked down the sidewalk but Eddie faltered slightly, slowed his pace, and looked over at you with a confused frown. "What?"
  "He questions you?"
  "Not always- Just... I mean, usually all the new people I've seen? But like- even if he did... you would pass, trust me." He didn't want to sell a lot of mainstream shit, he wanted the more niche market, and tried to welcome it with open arms as much as possible. He wanted the freaks, geeks, and weirdos into his store. But you wanted Eddie's full reaction to the store so you hadn't really told him all of that yet. It wasn't necessary anyhow.
  Even after just a little over a month of living in this town the store felt like a safe space. Not that you'd needed one but it was nice anyway. Especially as it reminded you of those afternoons or weekends where you and Eddie would drive out, sometimes also accompanied by his band, to the store at the edge of Hawkins. Sure there is a music store in the middle of Hawkins too... but their music was mainly aimed toward the popular kids or the dad-types of Hawkins. A lot of Jim Croce albums... probably a bit because the owner of that store, Shirley, had been trying to get into Chief Hopper's pants again for a while now.
  So whilst that store played music that had been released nearly ten years ago... you drove to what essentially was the border of Hawkins to get music that actually fit at least somewhat into your tastes. Though Burt's store was way better in regards to the music... but it didn't have the same memories yet.
  But at least it reminded you of them. Running through the aisles with Eddie when you thought the owner couldn't see, making a little fun of the small assortment of the more mainstream music they sold in one of the corners of the store only to appease the majority of Hawkins, and giving the owner a hard time in general. Even if the two of you were so appreciative of all that store meant to you.
  "I'll pass?" His tone was confused once again, as if there was no way. As if the store would be just like that store in the middle of Hawkins. As if you would lead him to something like that?
  "You'll pass."
  ~
  "Holy shit."
  "Told you." You grinned at him, you hadn't even shut the door behind you, Eddie had abruptly stopped the second his eyes truly got a look at the store. It wasn't anything that was particularly... standing out, more than the merch Burt thankfully sold and a couple of small decorations he wouldn't be too bothered by. But you knew that Eddie could see it, feel it even.
  "I haven't passed yet."
  "No, maybe not. But I told you it was really good, didn't I?"
  "You did, Sweetheart, so you did." He rested his right hand softly on the back of your neck whilst your closest arm swung loosely around him, your hand clutching at the hem of his jean vest on the other side of him. You could feel the rings on the back of your neck. It was pretty warm outside and his rings had warmed up slightly by the warmth of his hands but it still sent a shiver down your neck.
  "Sweetheart?" Burt questioned with a huffy laugh as he walked around the corner making himself visible to the two of you. His eyes already scanning Eddie once you saw him. "You must be Ed, I'm Burt" He reached out his hand and Eddie immediately took it with a grin, unfortunately leaving your neck bare so quickly after having initially rested his hand there.
  "I love this." His eyes were already bouncing around on the different vinyl album covers he could see whilst Burt kept his hand in a tight handshake. Although Burt might've tried to intimidate Eddie, with a tight handshake, tried to get intense eye contact going, tried to test him in some sort of way... Eddie didn't even notice. And as soon as Burt let go of Eddie's hand, Eddie bounced off to look at the new releases section. Already seemingly in awe of how many bands Burt had there that he hadn't ever heard about.
  "He saw how much my tape collection had increased so... we're here."
  "Understood. What is he into?"
  "Burt..." Your voice almost came out as if you were scolding him, "You do see his vest right? The pins, the back, the patch. You know what he's into. Don't test him."
  Burt had been surprised by you since the very first time you stepped into the store. Not in the way of visual first impressions but rather the way you'd walked in as if you'd been in here a thousand times before. Walked with purpose as if you knew exactly what you were getting and where it was. Even though he knew his sense of organization was rather poor and whatever you were looking for was probably not going to be found easily, yet another reason he should be hiring someone to help out with the place. Later on, he was further surprised by how often you stopped by.
  By the third time, the two of you started talking. You thanked him for giving you a safe place even if you didn't need it just yet. A very open confession to make to someone you'd barely spoken a word other than 'hi' and 'how're you doing?' to. You hadn't always bought something every time you stopped by. Mostly because you felt like you'd bought too much already and if you just sat there and thought about buying a certain tape you'd sooner or later find out whether you actually 'needed' to buy it or not.
  Besides making Burt play certain albums or songs through the speakers and just sitting there enjoying it was fun too.
  "I guess." He chuckled, though his voice was still stuck with his more 'huffy' tone. Burt went back to work and you skipped off to try and find where Eddie wandered about. He already had three tapes stacked up in one of his hands, the other searching through the ones on display.
  "So?"
  "You never should've brought me here." He laughed, his eyes quite wide and still bouncing from tape to tape. He paused for a second, his hand stilled and he looked over at you, "Thank you."
  "You're welcome." He took a second more before looking back at the tapes. His eyes were something that was probably permanently painted in your mind. Whether they were at the very front of your thoughts or just in the background as a subconscious thought. You didn't know exactly why. If it was the color, the way they just seemed so... Eddie.
  After a while, you'd realized that you probably would have to drag Eddie out of the store when it came to it, even though you really didn't want to. You could've spent hours just watching as he looked through the tapes, his brown eyes scanning them as they made their usual sounds of hard plastic tapping against hard plastic. He said he'd stopped after picking up a fourth tape, even though you could see that he was really contemplating that decision.
  "Are you going to..." He asked slowly and dragged out the last word, "y'know... get any yourself?"
  "No." Your answer was quick and made absentmindedly.
  "No?"
  "You saw how many I already have. Burt has bled me dry."
  "Burt?"
  "Eddie," You almost groaned his name, although you knew that Eddie had been very distracted at that moment, "-the owner? The guy who greeted us at the door?"
  "Oh. Right."
  "Anyway, there's nothing I want to buy at the moment anyhow. I was here just the other day."
  "Did you buy anything?" It was a simple question but you still had to think it through thoroughly to actually remember.
  "No, I guess not." You weren't all that surprised at that yourself but Eddie's eyebrows raised for a short moment, whilst still keeping his eyes on the display in front of him. "Are you getting those?" you wondered though you felt like you already knew the answer.
  "Obviously."
  "Are you getting any more?" Chuckled back in response to the answer you had in fact known. You could've spent hours watching him but you did also want to show him some parts of your campus like he had asked for during the phone call.
  "Nah. You wanna go?" Yes.
  ~~~
  You found yourself more bored than you expected to be as you showed Eddie around campus. Showing him the old buildings, telling him where everything was although you felt like you barely knew that yourself thus far. You were getting bored meanwhilst he seemed to get more and more intrigued by every step, every explaining sentence, and every sigh that slipped from your lips.
  You didn't regret agreeing to show him all of this. You had wanted to do this. You had been intrigued by his interest. He had wanted to see this and you were not going to stand in the way at all.
  And yet...
  "I don't really know much else." You pursed your lips a little as you looked around from where the two of you stood. Practically in the middle of the whole mess. Your eyebrows furrowed a little as you tried, really actually tried, to come up with something more to show him. Something that you really wanted to show him. Or anything at this point.
  "I don't believe that." He chuckled and rolled his eyes just slightly, and took a step closer to you. "C'mon, show me something more." He nudged you with his shoulder and looked at you with those big eyes of his. You almost wanted to whine.
  "I don't know what to show you though." You huffed slightly, "It's boring. You want me to show you an old statue that used to mean something and now has become nothing more than a part of a silly tradition before exams?" Eddie's eyes widened slightly at your response, probably reading you like a book as he always does and knowing that something had twisted in your mind.
  You liked your campus. You usually loved it. Loved the rush of the students around you, even during the weekends as students were rushing to and from the library. Loved the small college-owned cafe that students usually worked at. Loved that dumb statue that was a part of one of the traditions you took part in. Everything.
  And then, well then you'd brought Eddie here and you couldn't figure out if it was that you felt like you could see it all from his eyes or that you could just see it with Eddie there. A part of your 'old world' brought to your 'new world' that had made the 'new world' seem dull.
  "I usually... I usually really like this place." You had known that the music store would be something he liked, something both of you would like. But this?
  "So why not now, huh? Tell me everything. I want to know."
  "You deserve more." It blurted from your lips before you could even stop the beginning thought of what was a long ramble in your head. "Y'know... like- I miss you. And... I- I wish you could be here with me but y'know... it wouldn't fit, would it? You in a boring old college with your best friend. You deserve... I don't know? A stage? To get out of that hellhole Hawkins and just... live." It felt cliche, as if you were in some old-timey movie, making your long dramatic monologue. And at the same time it also just felt like you were spitting out random words, hoping that they made sense.
  "Baby, you're getting way too philosophical on me here."
  "I just- I've missed you." You didn't know how to explain anything else, didn't know what you actually had wanted to say with that ramble. So you took a deep breath and hugged him.
  "I've missed you too." He wrapped his arms around you and placed a kiss on top of your head that lingered. You stayed there for a while, cherishing that he actually was there.
  "I- I think I might know a place to show you."
  ~
  "This." You'd nodded in approval to yourself, "This is way better." You told him with a small smile which prompted one of his in return. No one else around but the two of you, the space reminding you of the countless hiding places that Eddie had shown you in Hawkins. Now you finally got to show one in return.
  You'd only been up at the small lookout once or twice, with Randi guiding you there up the sort-of mountain, so you hadn't felt completely confident in leading you and Eddie there alone. But thankfully... you had managed. But it had been a long walk up so you wouldn't be surprised if you'd managed to go a little more off-track than what was meant to.
  Randi had led you there once to study in the good weather, as she didn't really want to be one of the many students crowding the campus lawns she had shown you this place. You still had no clue how she'd actually found the place... but it didn't matter. Especially not at this moment.
  The small lookout had a picnic table, which did make it way more believable that Randi had somehow found it or already known about it. That it was simply a place somehow known to some. Even though the place still felt so untouched in a way. Fresh and new. The view wasn't all that special. Showing mostly parts of campus whilst the larger city stretched out further than you could currently see. Something you weren't sure would be as true about Hawkins if you were at the same height with the same kind of view.
  "Meh, I would've liked to see that old statue without any meaning." He said with an obviously teasing tone with his lips softly quirking up into a smirk. But you still figured that he had practically requested a small smack on his chest by your hand, so you delivered. "I do like this too."
  "Good."
  "I did like the school stuff," Eddie stated as if he was defending it and although it felt somewhat unnecessary it still brought a small smile to your face.
  "Yeah?"
  "It is a part of your life y'know?" His voice was back to the more teasing tone again, "I... I want to- to know about your life." He stumbled slightly through the sentence as if he knew what he meant to say but hadn't quite thought out the actual words before saying it. He fiddled a little with one of his rings as he looked down on it. Whilst he had stumbled through it, it hadn't taken away anything from what he meant.
  He wanted to see it all and you'd wanted to show it to him. But something had twisted in the moment.
  "I could show you the statue tomorrow before you go." It wasn't a question but it didn't feel like you'd be pushing him to see it as much as it would've to just show it to him earlier. To point it out and explain the tradition. It simply didn't feel like you were demanding him to see it.
  You'd been anxious about something considering Eddie. It wasn't the first time it happened but it didn't happen often. And rarely when he was actually there. Usually it'd be that you'd be overthinking afterward, something you'd done or said, and then it had gotten stuck in your head. But now he was there and you'd practically felt as if you'd forced him there when he had been the one to insist on visiting this specific weekend.
  "I'd love that." The sentence sounded warming in a way, the way his grin could be heard as he said it. "Now, point some stuff out to me." That, however, did sound somewhat like a demand, in the cutest way possible. He sat down on the bench part of the picnic table before patting the table part right behind him, gesturing for you to sit there. Which you happily obeyed.
  ~~~
  You stayed up on that mountain-hill-thing for longer than you'd initially planned to. Though the whole thing hadn't been planned anyway, so what did it matter? The sky had darkened and when evening truly came you could see how the streetlights flickered on. You told Eddie how the city almost felt brighter to you once the few lit signs turned on and pointed out how you thought the street lights looked like small stars from afar.
  You had barely even thought about going back to the dorms until it got cold. And even then Eddie had to sort of convince you. Even mentioning the fact that you had said that you wanted him to drive home fairly early tomorrow.
  "C'mon. Sleep, we need sleep. Also... I don't know- warmth?" Eddie tried bringing up every good reason as to why you should go back. It was sort of unlike him to say that you needed to get back home from one of your hangouts. Although this time you would be going 'home' together so you guessed that was one of the reasons he wasn't objecting to the idea quite as much.
  It wasn't even that you were truly objecting to the idea, you weren't really arguing against him.
  "But look! Pretty." You whined though it felt somewhat childish to argue that the reason to stay out way later than you probably should, despite it being a Saturday, was the view.
  It only led to Eddie shuffling out of his leather jacket and vest combo before putting it on your shoulders and gathering the loose arms in front of you before starting to walk, with them still in his hand. Leading you along as he walked
  "Hey!"
  You'd objected quickly, obviously, though it was mostly to put your arms through the sleeves and take off only the vest to give it to Eddie. Trying to offer at least some of the warmth he offered in return. After all of that, you had relented.
  The walk back to the dorms wasn't all that long but it was long enough for the cold to slip inside the leather jacket. Which resulted in you almost thanking Eddie for convincing you to go back once inside the dorm building, the weird warmth of several people living in a single old building warming you up instantly.
  Randi was asleep when you cautiously padded into the dorm room. You knew that she wasn't easy to wake up but she was the sort of person to wake up from the weirdest shit. Barely waking up whenever her alarm blared loudly nearly every morning but still somehow she once woke up by you just shifting in bed. The beds were creaky but... not that creaky.
  The night went similarly to the night before. Perhaps a bit sooner 'goodnight' due to that you and Eddie already had spoken all day, though that never had and never would stop the two of you rambling each other's ears off anyway.
  ~~~
  "It's supposed to give you like... luck? I guess." You explained as you looked at the statue that had been rubbed so much that it almost shone. The rest of the statue was a grubby old grey whilst just one specific part looked almost like pure gold.
  "Perfect!" Eddie had no restraint, fairly so, as he instantly reached forward and rubbed the spot. "What?" He questioned as he saw your incredulous look at how quickly he had accepted that. "I need luck, don't I?"
  "I guess." You chuckled in response with a shrug before placing your hand on top of the rubbed-on spot as well.
  The Tuesday afterward you'd gotten the news from Eddie Munson himself via telephone that he had indeed passed the test. Which resulted in you racing over to the statue after the call to try and somehow thank it, although you knew it was all Eddie.

Masterlist for Major Conveniences
A/N - Once again so sorry this took for-fkn-ever. But uhm... I’m hoping the next part won’t take as long. But also it’s obviously not going to be as long. This is sort of what I would like to call about the midpoint of the fic??? But that’s just an estimate as I’ve not written the whole fic yet, I just have the picture of how I want it to look in my head y’know. Hope you enjoy!

"So... what are your intentions with our sweet Klitzy?" Eli had demanded to sit in the middle of the backseat. Between you and Klitz. But was definitely also turned way more towards you, almost to the point of facing you directly and having his legs in your lap.
 "You don't have to answer that," Klitz said quickly, trying to lean past Eli so you could see him.
The drive over to the hotel was interesting to say the least. Eli's demeanor is a hard thing to describe, probably mostly because you've barely even spent time with him yet, but it was definitely somewhere between dramatic estranged relative trying to catch up with you and a businessman that's always trying to get you to buy into his plan. Klitz was trying to help you out, almost acting as if he was your lawyer during an interrogation.
 "How do I... how do I even answer that?" You questioned back, more curious than offended. How does one even state their intentions? And... what actually are your intentions?
 "Are you planning on marrying him?" Oh... well that was usually the typical answer in every romantic cliche movie wasn't it? To say that you'd want to marry the person... Klitz... in a suit... at the end of the aisle with your loved ones around-
 "Oh my god, ELI!"
 "What? I'm just asking." Eli shrugged as if he hadn't asked a very big question to a person who was just in their first year of college. One who hadn't even dated her boyfriend for more than a couple of months. Klitz glared at his friend and yet you could also still see that he was curious about how you'd answer, even as he tried to defend your honor. "Okay... what about this... do you see yourself dating him in a year?" Easier question. Not something you can be sure of, but there was certainly hope there.
 "Yeah." Your answer came quickly, sure of itself in a good way. It wasn't an automated response or rushed, clearly something you'd thought about and you just hoped that came through. You found the proof of that it had come out like you wanted by Klitz's smile. And Eli's approving nod and grin too.
 "Okay, on to the harder questions." Eli could easily be an evil mastermind. He seemed like someone who could come up with some evil plan, and try to take over the world. Though you easily could picture Klitz as a hero, mostly because he'd saved you from anxious thoughts, helped you when needed, and so on... If Eli was an evil mastermind... Klitz would definitely be there by Eli's side, questioning of everything, but loyal.
 "Harder? How much harder does it get than asking me if I want to get married?"
 "Depends on how willing you are about me asking about your background information."
 "Like what?"
 "Family, your childhood, anything you're willing to tell me." Jesus.
 "This feels like an interrogation."
 "Well, you are smart. You've got it figured out, let's start..."
 Sure, Eli had come there just to meet you. They were visiting for you... and he had been the one that had started the whole idea in the first place. Eli was laser-focused on you and whilst you had known about all of this... You were maybe not quite prepared for this level of attention aimed specifically at you. The anxiety had been about giving a good first impression, which you seemed to have done by Eli's earlier 'We've clicked'. You had not been anxious about answering a thousand questions, but that was starting to rise.
 From then on it was mostly friendly banter, Eli trying to get to know you without using the slight interrogation-y tone he'd used earlier. Trying to get to know you through your own words and not what he'd heard from Klitz on the phone. But once in a while, there'd be a question that would catch you off guard. Probably one of those 'harder' questions he'd mentioned. And you knew he didn't frame these harder questions with the friendlier, chattier, more casual questions by accident.
 "And we're here!" Matt announced as he parked the car. Parked in front of a hotel that you'd definitely seen before. It could be seen from campus depending on where you stood, it was usually the hotel speakers stayed at, and it was definitely... quite expensive.
 Sitting in the hotel lobby with Klitz was the first moment of not being asked questions since you'd picked up Eli. And that was because he wasn't there but rather checking in and going to unpack. Danielle and Matt doing the same thing.
 "They're nice." You stated softly to Klitz, almost yawning, sat on a couch next to him. Almost immediately leaned your head onto his shoulder hoping to find that usual comfort, and you did. Hugging his arm and probably getting way too cozy in a hotel lobby.
 "Eli seems to really like you."
 "You're sort of saying that as if it's not good?"
 "It's good it's just..."
 "What?"
 "I- I'm just... I don't know."
 Klitz was on edge more than he'd thought he'd be. He had expected to be anxious about this visit. Scared that there'll be a moment where Eli will overstep, tell you a story that he hadn't dared to tell you yet, or that some detail he'd missed in a story he had told you would just... scare you off somehow. And not only that but the intensity of his friends in general. His mind gnawing on itself telling him that you'll be scared off. So much so that he'd built up the tiniest little things in his heads until they felt as big as a mountain. Such things as what if you reacted to how much they say the word 'dude'? He'd never thought about it before but now it scared him like hell.
 "Klitzy? You seem more worried than I was this morning." Your voice was almost pleading. Both of your brains at war with themselves. Your mind afraid that he's regretting letting his friends ever meet you.
 "I'm fine. I just... He's going to tell you everything." Klitz tried to say it in a cheery sort of joking tone, but the bitterness in his head sort of rots into the tone of his voice.
 "So? I want to know more about you."
 "Yeah, but- everything, everything."
 "Are you scared I'll find out something that you don't want me to know?"
 "I'm scared something'll scare you off." He mumbled, or maybe more like muttered, the bittersweet mix of nervousness and a kind of begging tone in his voice.
 "It won't. I promise."
 ~~~
 "They're cute," Danielle stated almost immediately as the elevator doors closed in front of her, Matt, and Eli.
 "We've barely even seen them together, thanks to him," Matt responds, nudging Eli with his elbow.
 "They're cute. They're obviously in love." Danielle insisted before wondering out loud "Do you think he's told her that?"
 "What that he loves her? No way!" Eli piped up, a laugh bubbled out of his mouth whilst still talking. "She'll definitely tell him first."
 "You think?" Matt questioned next. Although Klitz had never really been the person to instigate things he did have his moments. Matt would not be surprised if saying 'I love you' would be in a moment like that.
 "Dude, I know."
 ~
 The hotel was nice. Like in the way of 'you shouldn't afford this if you're a college student and a newly started filmmaker'.
 Even if it wasn't what your parents would call 'civilized' you'd thought about asking Klitz several times about how much money they've made through the video. He'd sort of lightly breezed by it sometimes, mentioned what it had covered so far.
 Matt's tuition was fully covered, which was huge just by itself. Klitz's tuition didn't need that much help, scholarship, but they had fixed it up anyway. And Eli got a bit of a starter cushion for his career. That's all that Klitz had explicitly told you that it had covered but it felt pretty clear to say that Matt and Danielle's apartment clearly had at least somewhat been acquired through that money as well as Matt's car that Klitz had told you about. Furthermore, Klitz had been making it pretty clear that he definitely had a lot saved up too.
 It felt like some sort of ironic joke 'millionaire college students' among the more obvious 'students living on ramen as breakfast, lunch, and dinner because it's cheap’.
 Once the visitors had settled into their hotel rooms they'd come down to you two. All stomachs grumbling along in a choir of hungriness, you decided to head to the closest diner.
 When thinking of four rich young people... you did not expect their first suggestions of dinner to be the greasy diner that you mostly went to because they had a student discount. But there you were, Eli obviously sticking by your side to try and make sure that he could sit next to you again. Apparently finding the game of not letting Klitz sit next to you very funny. Klitz managed to sit down next to you before he could even try though, which was quite a comfort. To hold Klitz's hand in yours, resting in your lap, whilst you ate and still continued to get some interrogation-like questions from time to time.
 You wouldn't normally need this much physical attention. Normally it felt like it was just sort of for the peace of mind. A single touch reminding you to take a breath and enjoy whatever was going on. It grounded you. But in this moment it also just felt like a necessary security blanket. A necessary thing of 'keep me calm please'.
 Danielle noticed. She felt like the sort of person who always noticed those sorts of things. Someone who could read others really well. Matt and Eli didn't seem to notice though which was kind of... reassuring in a way. Not having to be seen as vulnerable too when you already felt that way. But you could see how much comfort they got from Klitz too. Although you'd obviously never seen them without him, after all you barely knew them so far. But just the way they talked about him, to him, the way they looked at Klitz, and how he responded made it so easy to see how much the trio loves each other in general. And although you didn't feel like it would be able to compare to that yet at all, you... well, you felt like you loved-
 ON ANOTHER NOTE the hotel room was fancy, big, and luxurious. A couch that probably folded out was in one of the corners of the hotel room even though it probably wasn't needed with the big bed in the focus of the whole hotel room. The typical hotel decorations galore. Big windows that faced campus.
 Danielle had offered that you all could hang out in their hotel room for a while once you got back from the diner. It was already pretty late and you felt like that would become the ending of the night.
 So there you sat on the couch with Klitz laying down, his head in your lap, still facing towards Matt and Danielle so he could talk to them. His long hair spread out across your lap with one of your hands intertwined in it, playing around. Danielle sat on the bed, her feet just barely touching the floor, and Matt sitting right in front of her on the floor. Eli switched between pacing around or sitting on the arm of the couch from time to time. Mostly ranting about his current projects.
 He'd apparently been racing through projects the last couple of months. Growing his empire as he called it. As soon as he finished production on one project he instantly started another one, the projects almost overlapping. He'd been in articles... not perhaps the most conventional magazines as is obvious but still several articles. He did however swear to Klitz that he hadn't told anyone about the 'mysterious actor behind the fencing mask'. Although pretty much every interviewer had asked. You weren't surprised by either fact.
 Eli might be dramatic, a slightly over-the-top guy but it was like he reeked of loyalty. Someone who'd defend Matt or Klitz to the end of the world. Or in the situation they had been through, make a sex education film to get one of his best friends out of trouble.
 By the time Eli had calmed down, permanently sat down on the couch by Klitz's feet instead of the arm of the couch or pacing the floor, it had been probably an hour or two. It was sweet and interesting and just as you had guessed it; 'word vomity'. His legs sort of bounced when he first sat down on the couch but slowly and surely calmed down the more time ticked by. Matt was completely leaned back against the bed with his face turned up towards Danielle whilst she had laid down on the bed, her head just slightly hanging off the bed to touch her head to Matt's. Meanwhilst Klitz had turned himself over on the couch about halfway through Eli's rants. Buried his head in towards you, being able to feel him breathing against your stomach as he hugged you to him.
 "You good?" You asked Eli as he let out a yawn.
 "I think that flight took more out of me than I thought it did." He just paced enough to probably have walked around the whole campus like twice... and he was saying it was the flight that made him tired? Jesus.
 "You gonna go to bed, dude?" Matt asked, a smug smile once again on his face as he goaded Eli. "I don't think I've seen Eli go to bed first in years." He teased as if there was an obvious contest to it.
 "I think Klitz is the first one tonight actually."
 "Is he?" Matt questioned next, aiming it at you. You leaned back a little to try and attempt to see Klitz's face a bit more. But once you tried his arms clung to you more.
 "He seems like half asleep?"
 "Awake," Klitz grumbled, the sound muffled by you.
 "Nevermind, awake. You want to go, babe?"
 "Yeah."
 "And Klitz is the first one to go to bed!" Eli practically screeched. Making the rest of you jump slightly in the air, Klitz slapped Eli's arm once he sat up. Klitz's hair was the most adorable version of mussed up. "I win!"
 "Dude." Was heard coming from everyone but Eli. Even you and Danielle joined in on the usual use of the word.
 "Can someone please drive us back to campus?" Taking a taxi back to campus would be possible, but not preferred. Matt gave you a nod before getting up, grabbing his stuff and getting the keys from Danielle's jacket, the three of you heading out of the hotel room. From the second you stood up Klitz's arm was once again around you. Almost leaning onto you, just showcasing his tired state. Once inside the elevator, you reached your hand up to brush his hair back a little, intertwining your fingers in the soft hair and gently pushing it back. "Thank you, Matt."
 "No problem."
 "Backseat," Klitz said once you got close to the car, already opening the door for you before going over to the other side and laying down in the backseat, his head once again in your lap. "Seatbelt." His voice is simple as he already reaches up for the seatbelt before you have a chance to, putting it in your hands.
 "I don't think I've ever seen you this tired before." You put on the seatbelt just as Matt got into the driver's seat. Klitz's face once again turned in towards you, handing you his glasses before he smushed his face against you. "This doesn't feel safe, what about your seatbelt?"
 "Fuck it." His tired voice muttered softly before hugging onto you again. A chuckle sounded from both the front seat from Matt and yourself.
 "You've ever seen him this tired?" You asked curiously, looking at the rearview mirror, his eyes meeting yours quickly before looking back at the road and then started talking.
 "Once or twice, sleepovers. Oh and sort of the one time I called him in the middle of the night once. Didn't see him but... yea."
  "Yeah."
 "He's a really good guy." He stated, his voice more serious than just a second or two earlier. His eyes stared at you in the rearview mirror until he had to glance back at the road.
 "Yeah, I know, he really is." Car rides with the members of the tripod in general apparently proved to be really stressful. This felt like an almost more serious version of Eli's earlier interrogation. Although you knew there would be nowhere near as many questions. This was Matt asking you about your intentions. His eyes observed you as much as he could. You in response tried to keep his eye contact without feeling like you were somehow 'backing down'. Or whatever one may say.
 "Is he asleep?" He then questioned, you offered a shrug in return at first before leaning back a little as you did back in the hotel room. This time his arms didn't pull you back to him, his eyes were closed and his face completely relaxed. Adorable.
 "It seems so, why?" This felt like standing at a cliff's edge and looking down at the long drop down. You trusted Matt, mostly because you knew the kind of trust that was between him and Klitz, but you trusted him nonetheless. He wouldn't want to hurt Klitz and therefore this wouldn't, couldn't, hurt in the slightest.
 "Do you love him?"
 "I... what?" You chuckled out in shock at the question. You'd expected a serious question but not that question. As if anyone could expect that to be the question. You'd figured that it would be some serious question... But that? Well, that certainly shocked you. If anything you'd almost wished he'd rather asked you about your intentions like Eli had earlier. Intentions suddenly seemed a lot easier when phased with the alternative of talking about the matter of love with your boyfriend's friend.
 But now you were here. Mostly just glad that Klitz's head was still in your lap, something to ground you. Although you'd instantly taken your hands away from playing with his hair. Maybe just somewhat worried that Matt would ask another shocking question and you'd accidentally yank Klitz's hair and wake him up.
 "Do you love him? He seems to love you." Well, that was a bombshell. But also a big relief.
 "I... Yes."
 "Good. I'm glad he met you." Was that it? Was that supposed to be all there was? His demeanor changed slightly back to the more playful casual way he'd been before, a small smile whilst looking at you through the rearview mirror. Meeting your eyes that just looked at him sort of disbelievingly, eyebrows furrowed.
 "Thank you? That... why ask me that though? Out of all the things you could've asked me."
 "Eli has his questions, I have mine."
 "You sound like- a fucking character in a mafia movie?" You scoffed back, a small laugh bubbling in your throat from the absurdity of it. "Did you know that you love Danielle like two months in?"
 "We moved together to DC like two or three months after just meeting." Matt chuckled in response. Right. She'd moved with him when he moved for Georgetown... That's risky. Sweet. But risky.
 "Right. I guess that's a yes then. I just... I wasn't prepared for that question. And... I haven't told him yet... obviously." Even though it had been clawing at your chest the past few days. You'd never pictured yourself as someone who'd say it 'early on'. But who's to say when it is too early or the right time in general. But... not now. For a while longer you'd keep your... 'secret'.
 "I won't tell him... I think." He responded, thankfully a jokeful tone in the small addition.
 "Dude." The 'dude calling' had gotten contagious apparently as it slipped out of your mouth in response. Matt laughed in response as he was parking the car.
 "We're here now," Matt announced and turned in his seat to look back at you and Klitz, although still keeping his voice sort of light due to the sleeping boy in your lap.
 "Thank you, Matt." You said with a smile before jostling Klitz a little, although still feeling jostled yourself by the conversation you'd just had with Matt. Klitz laid himself on his back, stretching a bit before he even opened his eyes, and started grumbling a little. Running your hand through his hair before placing his glasses carefully back on his face. Remembering a time that you'd accidentally poked his eye... you'd felt guilty, though most of the guilt you felt was for laughing. "Good evening."
 "G'morning."
 "Not quite. We're at the dorms though. C'mon baby."
 ~~~
 The next morning you'd all agreed to meet up in town, find somewhere local to buy breakfast, and explore the town. Eli had stopped with his countless questions, Matt was acting as if he hadn't asked the question he'd asked yesterday... although that was fair. It was obvious he didn't feel like it was a big deal for him to ask that. He just wanted to know something and so he asked it. He just wants to protect Klitz and so... he's trying to.
 But throughout this morning you found yourself asking why the fuck they'd decided to visit during the winter. The place was covered in snow and ice, you all had to bundle up in clothes, and since Eli had spent all of his time in Los Angeles lately... he was not at all used to the cold. In fact, the first store you went into was mostly to force Eli to buy a scarf, as he himself refused to admit that he was freezing, although accepting the scarf very easily for a guy that was 's-swelt-t-tering and sweating' and totally not freezing his balls off.
 New Haven is quite beautiful. Even though it was a snow-covered obstacle course of trying not to slip on the icy sidewalks at the moment.
 Seeing a place through someone else's eyes for the first time was weird. Showing people the city you've by now sort of gotten used to. The sidewalks you've walked for a couple of months, exploring or just on a usual route to something around town... they don't feel as fresh as they used to. But now you're sort of seeing it again. Getting to appreciate it all a second time but through their eyes. It wasn't that long ago that you came to New Haven and you definitely didn't feel like you knew your way around the whole place quite yet but you'd still gotten used to it all.
 You'd linked one of your arms together with one of Danielle's and tried to talk separately for once. Which worked for the most part, except that Eli apparently has pretty good hearing and nudged in every once in a while. Danielle was asking mostly about school, thankfully. You didn't know if you could go through another interrogation about who you are or how you feel without slipping into an existential crisis.
 She'd asked you what you studied, how it was, if it was hard, if the whole college thing felt right. "I've been thinking of starting college. For a while now actually. I just... haven't pulled the trigger." She explained with a seemingly nervous chuckle and a small shrug.
 "What are you thinking about studying?"
 "I don't know exactly. Journalism maybe? Or philosophy, it seems... fun?" Danielle intrigued you, she wasn't as easy to read as Eli mostly was or as open as you felt Klitz could be. But she wasn't one of those people who keeps a wall up for their own safety, full of sarcasm or jokes that would shield them. She seemed genuine most of the time, although definitely having a knack for teasing and making her boyfriend flustered a lot. "Either way it'll be somewhere in DC."
 "Don't want to be away from your loverboy, huh?" You teased playfully and nudged her with your shoulder, thankfully she chuckled. It was hard to be the newest in this whole dynamic, but Danielle seemed to understand that. She'd been new at one point too... although from what you'd heard from the group yesterday her introductions to the group were quite the spectacle. It wasn't the slightly more awkward process of trying to fit into a group slowly and somewhat desperately, trying to find the boundaries, the unofficial rules, trying to get to know what kind of jokes they're comfortable with.
 So that somewhat joking question had been... well it had felt risky anyway.
 "I really don't." She admitted softly and pretty quietly, a way more sincere answer than you'd expected in that moment. Your head quickly moved to look at her directly, almost trying to study her whilst still trying to come up with an answer.
 "That's wonderful though, isn't it? Being... hooked?" You questioned back, a sense of both hope and slight nervousness in your voice, Danielle's eyes met yours, and gave a small nod. Your eyes returned to the path in front of the two of you. Klitz and you still felt... new. And all of this going on in just your first term at Yale? You were really hopeful about it all, who wouldn't be with someone like Klitz. But it also felt terrifying in a way. Although a lot of people describe love as scary don't they?
 "That's the perfect word for it isn't it? They've caught us. In the best way possible." She sighed keeping her voice rather hushed, making you realize that the two of you had kept your voices somewhat quieter, both of you apparently not wanting the boys to hear everything.
 "Yeah."
 ~~~
 "So Danielle never got the interrogation thing did she?" You asked Klitz, your hand in his lightly swinging between the two of you. You were all walking over to the bowling alley, you'd been trying to find something to do and remembered the bowling alley and thought 'why not'. You'd been talking to Danielle for the most part that morning. Talking about college, the guys, and just generally telling each other stories. But after a while, you'd just wanted Klitz next to you. Wanted to warm your hands on his and to see the slightly red cheeks that weren't from being flustered but just the cold.
 "No."
 "Okay. So... why me though?" They hadn't asked any more questions thankfully and it wasn't as if you were voting for the interrogation to suddenly switch to Danielle but you were curious.
 "Well everything happened quickly with Danielle I guess? And me and Eli got to meet her like just a while after Matt met her. You're my girlfriend. Different situation. Also, they were only hearing on and on about-" Klitz was quick to answer, almost rambling through the entire explanation before cutting himself off mid-sentence. His voice had for the most part sounded so serious until the very last word. As if it all was just there and logical.
 "About?" You asked with a smirk, already knowing where it was headed.
 "Well... they were- hearing... about... about... I have no way out of this do I?"
 "I don't think so no."
 "They were hearing on and on about you. Since we met. And Eli got really curious." His voice was still sort of urgent, straight to the point but he was clearly trying not to smile at you as you looked at him with a grin and adoring eyes.
 "I've been talking a lot about you too, you do know that right? Also... I think it's cute that you've been talking about me." You reassured him and raised your joined hands to press a kiss against the back of his hand.
 "Good." He sighed out of relief, you'd figured that he'd know that by now. That he'd know how smitten you were with him.
 "I need to show you that more, huh? Show you how much I care about you?" You wondered softly, slowing down until you stood fully still. Thankfully the rest of the group didn't notice. You looked at him and tried to analyze. Klitz had been really sweet with the way he showed his affection, if anything somewhat cliche, giving you his sweater and the grand gesture of the study room. You weren't someone to hold back on affection, especially not towards Klitz, but maybe it just wasn't as... visible. At least not to him. But you wanted him to see it. You needed him to.
 "N-no, I mean... I know."
 "You do?"
 "I think so."
 "Well, I want to make you sure of it, okay? I really really care about you." You told him, not a single waver in your voice, which felt almost shocking even to yourself considering the cold winds that rushed by that afternoon. Klitz nodded sheepishly and kissed you, squeezing your hand in his and letting his free hand rest on your cheek whilst he kissed you. It was a quick kiss but one that felt like it meant a lot more than the few seconds it lasted.
 ~~~
 The bowling sort of went as expected. Eli wasn't the best at bowling but when it went well you were not surprised that he was the kind of person to holler and jump up in the air. And although having heard about Matt often looking smug, this was an evening that showed you just how long a smug smile could last, the answer is 'way longer than anyone should be able to look cocky'. But Danielle was the only one who was actually really good. All of which honestly did not surprise you at all.
 You'd seen Klitz bowling before, although he was definitely putting more effort into it this time. The last time both of you had just tried to have fun, almost aiming for the bowling lane gutter for all it mattered. But this time his friends were there and he was trying to at least beat Eli it seemed.
 This was nice. All of the time spent with them had been nice too but this was... well you'd sort of settled in. You weren't as anxious, you'd gotten to sort of speak with everyone alone and you were having fun. The thought of them leaving the next day had popped up in your head from time to time which didn't bother you all too much, you had only met them yesterday and if all goes to plan you'll meet them sometime again. Might even have the courage to talk to them when they call whilst you're hanging out with Klitz.
 But with that thought of them leaving there was a sort of accompanying thought of how Klitz was going to leave campus in just about two weeks. Sure you were going to leave too but... it was just the thought of actually parting for the first time.
 You knew you'd have to spend more time apart than just some day when you've been too busy with studying or something alike. You knew that you wouldn't be able to just spend all of your time around him and there would be times when you couldn't just take a small walk over to his dorm room to see him. Besides the winter break was almost nothing compared to the summer break. Although... you'd figured that summer break would be easier to meet up during. Perhaps get to visit his home town for a few days or him yours.
 But that was months away.
 After bowling, which Danielle won by far, you'd gone to dinner and after that gone back to the hotel room you'd all hung out in yesterday.
 "So, any plans for tomorrow?" Matt asked making everyone look over at him. There hadn't really been any mention of the last and upcoming day but here it was.
 "We're leaving at like noon, dude." Eli was right, it wasn't like they would have a lot of time or anything. It would have to be something small if anything at all.
 "We still haven't seen the campus." She was yawning as she said it but Danielle was right after all. It almost felt ridiculous that they had been almost everywhere in New Haven this morning except campus. After all, that was where you and Klitz spent more time than almost anywhere else, you even live on campus. Most of your life is played out in those gigantic ridiculously old and extravagant buildings and you hadn't really even thought about showing it to them. Although you'd definitely been excited during the first moments on campus, glancing around at those ridiculously old buildings... but you hadn't really thought that they'd want to.
 ~~~
 "So the university was founded in 1701, which means all of these buildings are old as shit." You presented it in a nice tone as if you were a real tour guide. Although the words signified the complete opposite. "That's the library we study in the most I guess. The ol' standard. Which means if anyone needs to find me in the upcoming week or two... that is unfortunately where you'll find me."
 The final examinations before winter break were coming up, there was some time left but you still felt as if you had a lot to study.
 "And probably me too," Klitz added on with a small sigh, at least he would be at your side. Although he would be majorly distracting it would be nice. To have that comfort that he could give you just an arms-length away or so.
 The tour consisted of showing where you'd usually hang out, where your dorms were, and so on. But it didn't take long for the time you had to run out. Thankfully, Matt, Danielle, and Eli had packed that morning, checked out, and made it so you'd be ready to drive Eli to the airport when it was needed. And it was time.
 "This was completely worth it," Eli told you all before starting to say goodbye to everyone. The visit that had been planned and made just because of you had been 'worth it'. Which was... pretty nice to hear. You'd seemingly made a good impression, made the visit fun enough even if it was mid-winter season, and sort of in a way gotten his 'approval' even though you probably didn't need it, it was nice to have. "Klitz, don't screw it up." was the last thing he said before heading off, not completely seriously but still seemingly meaning it to some degree.
 Klitz flipped him off behind his back. Not wanting to chuck out an even just somewhat joking 'fuck you' in the airport. Matt and Danielle drove over to the very parking lot where you had first met them two days ago, although it felt way longer away than just that. All of you getting out of the car to say goodbye before Matt and Danielle would head off on their long road trip back.
 "So, this is it, huh?" You questioned with a sigh, your lips pouting a little at the thought that the weekend you'd dreaded so much beforehand but had enjoyed way more would officially come to a close.
 "It's not the end of anything you know, we're friends now." Danielle teased and hugged you, parting from you before adding on with a chuckle "Or as Eli said, we've clicked." rolling her eyes at the statement herself. You groaned playfully and rolled your eyes as well. "You have to call me, okay?"
 "Hey, my girlfriend," Klitz said, his voice seemingly completely devoid of any joking tone although making the rest of the group laugh as he pulled you gently by your shoulders into him before hugging you to him from behind.
 "Cute." You told him quietly and wrenching your head as to be able to place a kiss on his cheek.
 "Let me say goodbye to your girlfriend, dude." Matt huffed with a laugh and shook his head. Klitz squeezed his arms around you for a second before he slowly released you from his grasp so you could say goodbye to Matt. Hugging him too. Klitz having hugged Matt already whilst you were saying goodbye to Danielle, hugged Danielle shortly before returning to your side. The two couples facing each other.
 "This feels... weird." Klitz's voice was just slightly whiney, "We're going to see each other in just two weeks."
 "Yep, but just like Eli said; This wasn't about you Klitzy, it's about her. We're not seeing her in 'just two weeks'. So this is us saying goodbye to the two of you and hoping to see you again soon." Matt explained as if it was obvious whilst he walked around the car to the other side to get to the passenger side, directing the last 'you' of course specifically at you. Danielle quickly got into the driver seat, although keeping her door open, whilst Matt lingered a bit just at the opening of the passenger side door.
 "I hope so too." You responded easily, knowing that it was completely true. You really wanted to see them again. Hopefully, however, in warmer weather and not hanging out as much in a hotel room.
 A disorganized chorus of 'bye!'s later and they were off.
 And with just about two weeks until Klitz would be too.
 ~~~
 The reading period for finals had started just a day before Klitz's friends visited which meant that the time they were there was supposed to be spent studying... Not that you minded. But you obviously hadn't been studying during that time, so whilst your and Klitz's friends at Yale had started and were already off at space rocket speed into their studying you felt like you were starting at snail pace. Your brain jumbled and disorganized.
 But by Thursday, the day of your first examination, you felt like you were up and running. Thank fuck. Then it was just all about getting through it all.
 Klitz had spent nearly all of that time alongside you. And although you'd been right that it would be really distracting to have him there whilst you were trying to focus on studying... it wasn't the first time you'd studied together and if anything it helped to have him there. Be able to take a break together, get food or coffee whenever you were low on energy, or just simply be able to look up from your course literature or notes and see him. See his lightly furrowed brows and almost pouting lips as he stared down at his own course literature. Klitz has a serious focusing face, albeit you would rather call it cute.
 And even if it was distracting... you were really happy to have him there. It sort of felt like doing it all as a team. Even though you actually only had one exam together.
 The last two weeks of being at Yale were... exhausting mentally and emotionally. Your brain frazzled and tired by the time all of the winter examinations were done. The last day of school so to speak. And despite that you'd tried to convince yourself it wouldn't be a big deal... it kept popping into your head that you would be parting from Klitz at the end of the two weeks.
 It wasn't as if it would be the end. It wasn't as if you couldn't call him like every day if you'd wanted to. It wasn't as if he'd forget about you during a small winter break that would feel like it would be over in a heartbeat... But it kept popping into your head, annoying you. Even if it wasn't some big deal or anything you felt you had to worry about or anything like that... it just kept going.
 Until it was the day. The two of you at the airport, Klitz's flight to California being the earlier of the two separate flights to separate places. You'd been there ridiculously early. Both of you stressing although there was plenty of time. So you spent it goofing around in tax-free. Buying way too many snacks, getting lunch together at the ridiculously priced cafe, running through the airport, and getting sour looks from the security guards.
 But then it was time to stop playing around. You walked Klitz to his gate and suddenly you didn't know what to even say.
 "I- I... I'm going to miss you." You muttered, feeling as if you were unintentionally doing puppy eyes at him. Pleading without truly meaning it. Perhaps pleading with another purpose than to get him to stay. Bringing your hand up to sweep his bangs to the side, although unneeded because of the way it already naturally swung to the side nowadays, for the last time before next year. "I uhm..."
 "I'm going to miss you too. I... I love you." He clearly hesitated at first to say it but he seemed so confident with it. The same feeling that had been clawing at your chest, constantly wondering if he was feeling the same and there he was so confident about it. "Are you going to say something?" His voice was pleading as he placed a kiss on your forehead and hugged you tightly, but you still stood there just in shock. Your lips and brain together fumbling to say something, anything in response. You knew what you wanted to say but then the boarding was starting and suddenly he was walking towards the doorway. Your mind, heart, and entire body panicking.
 "Klitz!" You suddenly shrieked, thankfully not too loudly but enough to catch his attention to be sure. You walked over to him in a rushed pace, your lips pressed together anxiously, coming to a stand as close to him as you could.
 "I- I... I love you too." Stumbling a little at first but getting it together enough to say it with what you hoped was enough conviction to display that you truly meant it. Hugged him tightly again and before you absolutely had to leave you kissed him one last time. "You better call me when you get home." You grumbled the addition nervously, your eyes once again gone back to pleading. Klitz nodded and smiled at you, making you almost automatically smile back at him.
 You'd said it, he'd said it... It was said.
 "I will, I promise. See you next year?"
 "See you next year."

A/N - Dramatic 'I love you' scene... I don't know... it felt right?? I honestly have no clue if Eli would be one of those guys to like not admit if they're cold even if they are but I think he is.

A/N - My first Euphoria fic... damn... Honestly I’ve been obessed with reading Fez x reader stuff the last few days so ehm... This is my contribution to it all :)  Imma add Fez to my requestable characters thingy but idk if I’ll add any other of the characters???
I think I saw someone describe the shop scene as his eyes being like filled with stars or stardust and that just latched onto my brain. And so here we have this (I mean just look at his eyes omfg). So uhm thank you to whoever I saw write that in some post :)
Tumblr media
It was almost easy to see when Fezco had a true interest in someone. Or maybe better described, had started crushing on someone, hard. The way his eyes seemed to contain the stars when he looked at them. The way his cheeks flushed slightly and the corners of his lips quirked upwards. It was subtle but still somehow easy to tell just by those signs.
However, you had never expected those eyes containing stars to be aimed at you. You had seen them throughout the years. Aimed at others. Not that often but still aimed at everything from crushes to his first girlfriend. You had been there throughout all of that. But then one day you saw it aimed at you. The flushed cheeks, his eyes looking especially starry, stuttering through a word or two in a slightly more awkward tone than usual.
It had happened on a night with just the two of you, he had been busy lately but you practically forced him into spending an hour or two just the two of you. Silence and a spot to look over the town that both of you grew up in.
It had been quite a long drive, trying to find something that overlooked East Highland more than just a slow uphill road. But then you found it, a parking lot, placed higher than most of the town at least. It wasn’t a steep hill beside it or anything. More like a slightly steep slope down to the small winding road that had led up to the neighbourhood you had found the parking lot in. So there you sat at the top edge of the slope whilst the sun started lowering into the horizon. You had parked the car close so that you could use it as a backrest.
Most of the time went by without even talking, just spending the time listening to the sound of the town around you. Cars going way too fast for a town where most of the younger population of the town biked a lot. Once or twice you’d look at each other. Not out of concern or worry but just admiring and relishing in the peace that could happen just for a small amount of time.
There hadn’t been a lot of peace lately. Big scary moments that you’d often learn about after they happened. You had known Fez for years but he never let you come with on the bigger deals or higher-up sort of dealings, just mostly parties and such. But that didn’t mean that you hadn’t seen scary situations because of him. You had seen people overdosing, seen people get beat up, seen Fez get hit as well as seen him hit someone else.
But in this moment, all of that could just fuck off.
It was just you and him. Probably getting dirt onto your clothing from sitting on the dirt-edge of the parking lot. Laying your head onto his shoulder after some time passed, wanting to be closer to him.
Physical affections weren’t really that rare between the two of you but they also weren’t that frequent. He hugged you whenever he had been in scarier-than-usual situations, or if you had seen him in a fight. You usually run your hand once over his buzz-cut affectionately every once in a while. Most often when he was sitting in some ratty couch at a party and you had been walking around or danced or been somewhere else than right beside him. Using it almost like a greeting, a small ”I’m here now”.
But this was slightly different. It reminded you of when the two of you were younger. Whilst you and Fez aren’t quite the same age, you just a few small years younger than him, you had met in middleschool. He had seen you and accepted you as a friend quickly. He had a gift for that. Seeing people that didn’t have anyone else and caring for them. His grandma sometimes came to pick both of you up from school. Fez was allowed to sit in the front with her but wanted to sit in the back with you. During those moments you often sat as you did now. Closely together, your head resting on his shoulder.
It reminded you of that but it also made your stomach clench slightly in nervousness. Which confused you just slightly. It was Fez. Just Fez, whose house you had practically lived at a couple of times, a few days at a time. Fez who had protected you from everyone who had ever hurt you. Fez who had made it so that many more weren’t even able to hurt you. Fez who you had known for years and sat in the back of his Grandma’s car with in a similar position as this.
But at the same time the clench of your stomach was almost expected, because it was also Fez. The Fez that made your cheeks flush when he complimented how you were looking. The Fez that pushed stray hairstrands back from your face and grinned at you when you looked at him after. The Fez that made your whole being lock up in jealousy when you saw him looking with starry eyes at someone else.
So there you sat with your head on his shoulder, both of your backs against the front of your car. However almost fully leaning onto Fez once you relaxed into the small physical affection you had allowed yourself. Your knees up as you didn’t want your feet to fall asleep again like they had begun to do a while ago. The moment felt like a video buffering for a second. A small quiet gasp of air before you relaxed. And then he brought his hand up onto your knee. His thumb stroking your knee from the first second of it even being on there.
And then he had looked at you.
And there you saw it.
The eyes full of stars, the typical smile and flushed cheeks.
”Don’t look at me like that.” Slipped out before you even could think about it, a small chuckle along with it. Swatting his arm softly.
”L-…like what?” He asked with the smile even more prominent. The dreamy look in his eyes still there but a bit more focused than a second ago.
”You know…” You trailed off with your voice, gesturing towards his face quickly before looking away from him. You didn’t want to explain how you had seen that look on his face before. That you knew what it meant. It wasn’t even as if you didn’t want him to look at you like that, you always had. But faced with the actual situation, you didn’t know what the hell to say.
It had simply bubbled up out of nowhere.
”No, I don’.” He chuckled, shaking his head before looking out at the view. Now the air was charged. A tension in the air that wasn’t uncomfortable but also just urged you to do something.
But he did before you even had the chance to, his hand slipping off of your knee, angling his arm in a way that pushed your head off his shoulder and slightly forward before he slipped his arm behind your head. Your knee slightly more cold than a few seconds before, but so worth it for the feeling of this. The feeling of his arm around you. His warmth and the scent of him surrounding you.
No more words uttered once again as you slipped your arm that was furthest from him to rest against his torso, practically hugging him against you. Bringing you even closer, your head just resting almost right below his.
”You good?”
”’m Perfect.” you mumbled, as you nuzzled your head lightly against him. The tension was still there, almost feeling like a chanting crowd sat at the bottom of the sloped hill, chanting for you to do something more.
You sat there like that for as long as you could.
After just a short time your arm became tired of hugging him against you so instead both of your hands sank down and rested in his lap, taking the hand of his that wasn’t doing anything and playing with it. One of your hands holding his hand palm-up whilst the other traced his palm with your nails.
A while later your knees started slumping and turning a bit more towards him, before finally resting them against his thighs. Feeling as if you’d lay completely against him if it wasn’t for the front of your car supporting your backs. Pulling up your hands and his to rest on your thigh to have it even closer than before. Still tracing the lines on his palm, sometimes just letting the tops of your fingers stroke against his slightly tougher skin.
More time passed and before you knew it the sun had set and it started to get colder in the air. You had spent more time on this parking lot than what had been planned. But you also didn’t want to budge from the spot you almost felt cemented to.
”We should go.”
”Do we have to?”
”No, but we should.”
”Then just a little while longer.” You begged with a small smile, leaning your head against his arm more so that you actually could see his face. And there the look still was. It was going to kill you soon. You had daydreamed about a moment where he would look at you like that and now he just was. But you couldn’t possibly do what you had in your daydreams. You couldn’t just kiss him like your response often was in the daydreams. It wasn’t that easy.
So you shuffled your head back into the space just slightly to the side of his head. Now nuzzling into the crook of his neck as well as you could. Feeling, more than hearing, the deep breath he took.
”Just a little while longer.” He chuckled softly, his arm around you pulling you in just even slightly more closer. Arching his head so that he could kiss the side of your head. Making you shudder slightly.
”You sure about a little longer? You not cold?” He asked in response of feeling the way you shuddered at his act of affection. As if it wasn’t just for that reason but the coldness that was creeping in now that the sun had set.
”’m fine. ’m perfect.” You mumbled back, repeating your phrase from before. You didn’t want to leave this moment that still felt like a daydream.
It took half an hour for the cold to actually get to you and making you shudder without Fez doing anything.
”C’mon.” He simply said before taking his hand back from your hands and raising his arm off of your shoulders, standing up quickly before extending a hand down to you.
”Let’s go.” He continued as you took his hand and he helped you up. The imaginary crowd at the bottom of the slope boo-ed and so did your heart.
--- — ---
“You wanna stay over?” He asked once you reached his house, parking right outside it.
”I don’t know.” You shrugged, not wanting to make the decision yourself. Your mind was racing from before as it was. Spending the night might just make your thoughts speed up even more.
”C’mon,” He smirked at you ”stay? Please?” He added, making you look over at him. The expression practically the same as in the parking lot.
”Fine Fezco.” You teased as you drove the car over to the nearest parking spot.
In practically no time at all the two of you stood at his front door, him fishing out the key before opening the door. This was your second home. A place you could run to in the middle of the night and feel more safe in than your actual home. Even if it actually was a bit more known by bad people and more dangerous to be in than yours was. That fact never stopped you when all you wanted was to be in a close proximity to Fez.
”Can you help me with the couch?” You asked softly, going over to the kitchen to drink some water before making up the couch to sleep in.
”Why don’ you just sleep in my room?” Fez’s question almost made you spit out your water in shock. You hadn’t ever actually slept in his room. You had napped on his bed sometimes when he was doing small deals in the livingroom or you guys had been hanging out the whole day and you needed to sleep a bit before heading over to a party. But he had never been in the bed beside you.
”You sure?” You asked tentatively, ready for him to just completely change his mind and shut you out to sleep on the couch. You had never minded the couch… not until this moment when you were offered to sleep next to him. He hummed in an affirmative tone before he walked into his bedroom. You gave him a bit of time, chugging down another glass of water that you wouldn’t sort of choke on out of surprise this time. And then you followed into his room.
It was later than you had at first figured it to be, so Ash was definitely in his room, either playing on his phone and texting his friends or sleeping. If he had been in the livingroom he would’ve probably offered to make up the couch for you, leaving the possibility of Fez’s bed to not even be a possibility. So you were sort of grateful even if you missed the kid too. And you did know that in the morning both you and Fez would probably be teased even if nothing were to happen within the bed.
The simple act of bed-sharing would be teased to the moon and back and then Rue would probably hear it too once the four of you hung out next… and then…
You need to shake these thoughts out. You don’t need more anxious thoughts on top of the simple but anxious act of climbing into a bed with Fez in it.
Once you got into the room Fez had already taken off the sweater he had worn during the day, the long sleeved t-shirt under it getting slightly bunched at his neck before sinking down again.
”Hi.” You said quietly, simply informing him that you were in the room, not wanting to accidentally scare him or anything.
”You need something?” Your heart cracked a little, ”To like sleep in?” And you felt as if you had just had a heart attack only to be brought back with a defibrillator. Adrenaline rushing through you just for a second before starting to nod.
”Yea please.” Your voice sounded more tentative than you ever had heard it before, even if you felt like your heart and mind and daydreams were pleading for a shirt of his to sleep in.
”Here.” He said before tossing over a t-shirt that you recognized immediately.
”This one? Really?”
”What?”
”No… ’s nothing.” You replied quickly, sitting down on the bed, placing your phone on the nightstand next to you before pulling your shoes off and then the rest of your clothes before slipping the shirt over your head. Leaving you in your underwear and the shirt you had seen the two exes of his wear before. Hence the comment. First the look and now the shirt?
The look you had begged for, wished for, daydreamed about. The shirt you almost wanted to burn. The amount of times that you had seen someone else style it or just slip it on before heading out with your Fez… it had always just made your heart clutch lightly in pain and jealousy.
You kicked your clothes slightly away from the bed before standing up and walking out of the room to the bathroom that had your spare toothbrush. Brushing your teeth quickly and splashing your face with some water, drying it and then walking back into his bedroom. And there he sat on one side of the bed, in a different shirt, sweatpants instead of the jeans he wore earlier. He sat on top of the covers, checking his phone whilst smoking.
You uncovered the side of the bed that you were going to sleep on and sat down, picking up your phone, sending a short text to your parents that you were sleeping over at Fez’s.
They didn’t necessarily love him or his grandma and definitely not Ashtray’s name. But they had also been there throughout your whole friendship. They had seen you grow up together and how he protected you and heard the way you talked about him. Even if they wanted to separate the two of you, they also knew they couldn’t really. So they accepted the tall, ginger, freckled guy into their lives as well. Always automatically opening the door into their home whenever he came over to yours. As well as simply responding to texts like the one you just sent with a thumbs up emoji.
You put on ’do not disturb’ before laying down in the bed. Instantly going to fix the pillow under your head, turning to your side to face where Fez sits.
”You okay?” You ask quietly, pulling the duvet on top of yourself. He nods and hums an affirmative, pokes a bit more onto his phone, taking a long drag more of his smoke before placing both down onto the nightstand next to him. Fixing his phone so it’ll charge and putting out the glow out of his smoke on the little ashtray. He gets up for a second to get under the covers and slides in in front of you.
The aspect of climbing into the bed when Fez was already laying down was anxious as it was but Fez climbing into the bed whilst you laid there… Felt like even more tension building up. He faced you as well. You simply laid there, looking at him, eyes flickering to different spots of his face.
Your hand reached out to his face without even thinking about it, placing your hand on the side of his face, stroking his cheek softly with your thumb whilst your fingers scratched his beard.
”C’mere.” His voice was even softer than usual. And whilst you did crawl a little closer on the bed your hand going away from his face to get closer more easily, you also started to overthink. Was this how it was for the people he hooked up with. Was this always how it had been like to share a bed with Mr Fezco himself? How many times had you daydreamed about a similar scenario? Daydreamed about getting to crawl closer to him and stroke his cheek, run your hand over his buzz-cut more than just once.
”Stop thinkin.” He mumbles softly with a small smile before using the arm that was still sort of out-reached towards him to drag you even closer. Placing his closest arm under your head again. The hand that had dragged you even closer placing your other arm over his chest before starting to play with your hand like you had played with his earlier.
”What changed?” You ask softly, your heart beating even faster as you for the first time addressed how the two of you acted differently tonight.
”Nothin, nothin at all. Maybe we’re jus’ ready for it now?” His hand stopped playing with your hand, slipping up to stroke your cheek like you had done to him earlier as well.
”You think?” You question, you hadn’t ever thought that he knew how you felt towards him. But at the same time it could’ve probably been the most obvious thing in the whole town. Or Fez simply saw that you had looked at him with similarly star-filled eyes for years now.
”Why weren’t we?”
”I don’ know, baby.” He mumbles, using his hand to tilt your head up to look at him. ”Do you feel ready for it now?”
”I’ve been ready.”
”Oh really?” He teases with a small laugh, leaning his head down towards yours, touching his nose to yours. ”You been ready, huh?”
”Since day one.”
”I don’t believe that for a second, baby.”
”Why?”
”Reasons…” His voice trails off as he gets even closer to you, placing a short peck to your lips before you can argue back. Just getting a taste of your lips shortly before he gets lost in you. Getting at least one sweet kiss before he gets needy. He’s been waiting for this. And so he leans in again, kissing you deeper, slightly tougher. The way he’s always wanted to kiss you. The way he’s longed to kiss you for some time now.
It took a long while for his crush on you to develop and when it first did he felt awkward about it. He had seen you as just family for quite a long time before you changed completely in his eyes.
Though he always thought that maybe his mind knew from the start, knew that sometime in the future he’d fall in love with you. His mind didn’t need to adjust so much to the thought after all. As if his mind had planned for him to fall in love for real at the right time.
That was the way he knew he had to bide his time. Wait for the both of you to be ready. So he kept his star-filled glances at you to when you looked away. He tried and succeeded with dating others, even if the reason of the breakup often was more than he let on. He bided his time, he knew that he couldn’t force it to happen. Even if he saw how you looked at him or how you reacted to him.
He knew that he couldn’t ask you out to some date that he guessed would feel like the two of you drowning in awkward feelings during it. He waited for a moment like tonight when it felt natural. When it was just the two of you. When he could cuddle and hug you without there being a reason. When he could lean down to you and kiss you like his dreams had plagued him about for some time now.
”Maybe I wasn’t before, but I am now.” You whisper softly when your lips part from each other. He nods with a small satisfied smile on his face. He hums affirmatively.
”Good, I’ve been waiting for you.”
”I’ve been waiting for you too.”
”You’ve been getting ready.” He corrects with a chuckle.
”Why this shirt though?” You question with slight annoyance at the thought of his two exes that you also had seen wearing it.
”Just’ve always thought of you in it.”
”But you let them wear it too.”
”Oh? You jealous?”
”Of course I am.” His teasing tone hadn’t been lost on you but you answer truthfully.
”It looks better on you.”
”Damn right it does.” You chuckle even with the your cheeks flushing, feeling warmer than before at the compliment he placed. ”Is it mine now?” You ask, hoping that your true sentence ’are you mine now?’ is visible within the question.
”Yea. Just yours.” He mumbles before leaning in again.

Warnings - The usual things that come with Euphoria (mentions of drugs and our most usual drug addict; Rue), mentions of Mouse and the whole situation of when Rue was there in his presence. Sort of an abandonment issues thing included too?? Ish. Mentions of sexual relation between Fez and reader but not smutty content
A/N -  So here I am with my second Euphoria fic, I want to thank all of you a lot for all the likes, reblogs, replies and just general support from all of you on Star-filled eyes! I’ve seriously been giggling and smiling like a little girl, so thank youuuuu <3!!
With that said... let’s get into some angsty shit with lots of comforting for our baby Fezco
Tumblr media
It had been a day of just peace so far, nothing to bother you. Just Fezco by your side. Looking at whatever tv channel had struck your interest, spending your day in his bedroom so you could lay in just his t-shirt without bothering Ash.
If you weren’t there, Fez and Ash would probably be preparing even more with their products than they already had been the last couple of days. Making sure that absolutely everything was prepared for the annual carnival that was coming up soon. If there ever was a time, that wasn’t a party, to take drugs in East Highland then it was the annual carnival. Bright lights, lots of carnival food, sitting in the Ferris wheel whilst high? It’s nice.
But Fez had used the carnival preparations slightly as a cover, he’d been shutting you out these last couple of days using it as a cover as to why he couldn’t see you. But you knew it didn’t take that long to actually prepare even if it definitely could take quite a long time. Something had happened. But he would simply tell you when he felt that he could. So you had simply texted him to call you over as soon as he was giving himself a break. And he did. Yesterday.
You and Fez aren’t an official deal. But it wasn’t just nothing. You spent a lot of time together, mostly at his place or the convenience store. You didn’t hide that you spent time together, all of your friends certainly knew and spent a lot of time teasing you about it. In the beginning, Fezco had claimed that he couldn’t date anyone. It wouldn’t be safe. And although that was true, it clearly didn’t stop him from having you. Whatever you were to him. And you weren’t bothered by it, as long as you had him in return. You cared for each other more than either of you wanted to admit.
So you had come over yesterday, biking leisurely over, enjoying the sunset whilst you could. And then you’d been basically dragged into his bedroom as soon as the door opened. Ash laughing whilst you walked hastily behind Fez. It was just one of those moments where he needed you. Not necessarily a naked you under him but just you around him.
So there you were with his head on your stomach, laying on his belly between your legs, your hand scratching his scalp whilst he slowly just breathed for a while. His face directed away from you, which saddened you that you couldn’t see his face, his eyes. But at the same time maybe he just needed that while he told you whatever you knew was coming next. His hands locked onto you, holding you because he needed to. Seeming to be gathering up his courage.
And then he told you about the incident that happened some days ago. The cause of his radio silence. Not that he admitted that was what it was. But it was obvious that it was.
Rue had had the worst timing ever a few days ago. And didn’t listen when Fez told her to head out. Which lead to Fezco having to see Rue, a person he considers family, in quite a lot of danger. Because of what he works with. He told you all of this slowly, long sighs in between some sentences and you could just hear the angriness as well as the sadness the situation inflicted on him. He’s a man of few words but with a lot of meaning behind them. He didn’t need to tell you the whole story or say every detail of the situation but he simply toned his voice, letting you read between the lines. So you laid there under him, still scratching his scalp and humming along when needed to show him that you were still listening.
Once he finished he laid there, taking another deep breath and made his hands let go of his grasp a little. Almost just ghosting his hands along your sides. As if he was giving you an out. A time and a reason to flee from his room and his grasp and everything he means to you. But instead, you put your hands on top of his, pushing them just slightly before he grasped onto you again. But you also made sure to pull him up to you, kissing him. Because both of you needed it.
You spent the rest of the night showing him that you never will be the kind of person that flees from him. The kind of person that flees from the situation that he barely had any control over, not more than the decision to continue working the kind of work he’d practically been raised to do.
Loving touches, kisses, standing beside him and helping him cook when you both decided it was time for dinner. If it was any other time you’d be concerned that he’d start thinking of you as clingy or needy. But in this moment it was him that was needy but just not ready to fully show it yet, except showing gratitude that you clung onto him.
When you finally climbed into the bed sometime after dinner to sleep rather than fuck or cuddle like earlier it was as if his brain switched a little. Grasping you fully into his arms. Pressing his face into the crook of your neck. Still taking those long breaths that could sound a little shaky if you listened closely enough. One of your hands stroked his back whilst the other laced its fingers with his other hand’s. And then you fell asleep like that, perfectly intertwined.
The morning was a bit more peaceful than the afternoon and night before. You both took a slow start to the day, not really bothering with changing your clothes from the pyjamas that you’d thrown on the night before. Meaning a t-shirt of his and nothing else for you. Meanwhile, he walked around in sweatpants and another one of his t-shirts. He brought in cereal for the two of you when your stomachs couldn’t stop growling but you didn’t want to get up.
Sometimes people came to Fezco and Ash’s place to buy, but Ash hadn’t come in or knocked at the door at all yet so either it was a slow day or Ash handled it like he often could and did. But then the doorbell started going off like crazy as if it was possessed and the door itself started basically getting assaulted with knocks and banging. Or better summarized as; a typical drug addict was outside and ’needed’ to buy something. Fez told you to stay in his bedroom before he jogged down to meet whoever was still banging and ringing the bell.
It seemed to take forever. Or maybe, just maybe you were just a bit more impatient than usual because you’d been getting spoiled by Fezco’s time and affection. Which is why you went down to check up on the situation. But of course, put on a pair of Fezco’s sweatpants before doing so. Worst case scenario was that it would be Mouse, the best case scenario - practically anyone else. Walking down the stairs, you started to hear it. The yelling. Through the closed door. Which could only mean one thing. An addict that Fez refused to sell to.
With the yelling and the banging on the door, it could have also been suspected that it could’ve been the police but they don’t really ring the doorbell that many times after the fact that they’ve started banging. They usually prefer the banging as well as the yelling to open the door, the kind of yelling that you would have heard even from Fez’s bedroom.
So it’s an addict. And even worse - Fez is leaning against the door just taking the verbal abuse.
Once you got close enough you could hear that it was Rue.
Which just broke your heart.
You love Rue, against your better judgement, but you also get why Fez doesn’t want to sell to her anymore. He’d been conflicted ever since the overdose but then with what happened with Mouse and her as well… it felt completely understandable that he shut the door on her. What didn’t at all feel acceptable however was that he was standing there still taking her verbal abuse that came with the closed door.
Fezco is a drug dealer, he’s used to being yelled at, being in dangerous situations. But being screamed at through the door with horrible words by a person he considers family. That is not at all needed or something he has to go through. He could just walk away from the door. But instead there he was, leaning against the door with pure agony shining through his eyes as he seemed to stare at the ground. Just taking it all in when it really was just the drug addict within Rue that was berating and trying to manipulate him into doing something.
So you walked up to him and took his hand in yours before leading him upstairs again. He felt reluctant at first but then he gave in, even with Rue still crying and screaming outside. He gave into you, leading him upstairs, shutting the door and putting on some music on one of his smaller speakers. By now all sounds that could be happening downstairs wouldn’t travel up to you.
”You okay?” You ask gently, placing your hands at either side of his head, making him look at you. He shook his head just barely before once again laying his head down in the crook of your neck. Your arms going to rest on his shoulders, one hand starting to softly stroke the nape of his neck. ”It’s just the addict in her.” You remind him, but you know it doesn’t hurt any less. Even if he was familiar with this side of drug addicts and even had seen this side of Rue, he had never truly cut her off like that before. He had never before heard that sort of screaming and crying from her.
”You promise you’re here?” Fezco questioned in mumbles against your neck as if it wasn’t real that you were truly there holding him. As if you had fled last night like he gave you the opportunity to. As if he was just imagining you holding him.
”Yeah I’m here. I promise.” You responded, trying to really put as much meaning into the words as possible to show him that you were there both physically and there with him as emotional support. ”Want me to pinch you?” You then asked trying to lighten the mood just a little. Couldn’t hurt. Which thankfully worked as he let out a small chuckle before shaking his head. ”You want to lay down again?”
A nod in response was why you then lead the two of you over to the bed, Fezco not giving you much space as you did. Although you’d never mind that. Fez clung onto you now. Fully giving into the needy side of him that just needed you right now. Both of his hands go under his your shirt to be able to feel your skin. One just clutches your hip whilst the other clutches around your back as best as possible. Trying to hold all of you as best as possible. Your hand keep stroking him, his back, his neck, whatever you could, trying to reaffirm to him that you’re there. That you won’t go anywhere. And that’s simply the best you can do as you lay there with an emotionally charged Fezco clinging onto you. You start humming softly to the music. Hoping that too will help somewhat.
Fezco might not need all of this, might not need all the ways that you try to reaffirm him, comfort him, love him. But he deserves it.
— --- —
When Rue comes up to the couch you and Fezco are sitting on at the Halloween party you already know what’s going to happen. An apology. If Fez had looked up at the same time as you, he would’ve known immediately too because of how easily he can read people, how easily he can read Rue. You simply know because you know drug addicts.
It was simply just the drug addict within her that day. This was actually her. So you give Fez a kiss on the cheek and go over to the kitchen to get the two of you something to drink before she can even start talking. But you also gently place your hand on her upper arm and stroke it once or twice before you leave to show that you’re not leaving because of her but for her. For them to have the space they need to heal what was broken that day.
A bit later that night when he and Rue finished talking, he walks over behind you, sliding his hands along your figure for his hands to come around into a hug, hands connecting loosely in front of you.
”Hey baby.” He mumbles, pressing a quick kiss on your neck. He usually wasn’t that affectionate at parties excluding the act of kissing or making out. He could be as close as a koala to a tree when you’re alone but at most parties, it was more like a friendly closeness even with everyone knowing about the two of you. Even if you still kiss at parties, he was never really one to hug and show the sort of affection he shows when you’re alone. So you relished in it. Put your hand over his, stroking his fingers with a lazy smile on your face as you leaned back against him.
”Hi babe.” You respond, turning your head to look at him, finding the eyes that you cherish so much. ”You guys good?” You then ask as you hand him the beer you picked up earlier for him. He gives you a quick nod before responding.
”Yeah, we’re good. ’s just hard sometimes.”
”Yeah I know…” You agree with a sigh. Even if you aren’t as heavily included within the drug business as Fez, you do see how much it all takes on him, the people around the two of you and so on. ”She sober?” He nods before he answers again.
”Yea, but she’s not doing too good.” He mumbles with the lazy high of smoking casually throughout the night toned in his voice. ”Hope she’ll be fine tho.” He adds to which you nod along.
”At least she’s sober. You helped with that Fez. You need to understand that she’d probably still be going right now if you didn’t shut the door. She’s okay for now. That’s what matters.” You say every word with a certain tone that makes it clear that you hope this specific sentiment is truly getting into his head. That he did the right thing. Even if it hurt to see his family hurt.
”Yea, I kno’,” He sighs before he continues, ”she thanked me.”
”That’s good.” You smile softly at him, reaching one of your hands up to stroke his cheek, him leaning into it softly.
”Promise you’re here?” The phrase had gotten used a few times after that day with Rue and you don’t fully know why. But being able to reaffirm to Fez several times that ’yes’ you are indeed here for him was a thing you’d do a thousand times if he wanted you to. Even if he hadn’t fully admitted it yet, you both knew after that day that you were definitely more than just the friends with benefits that you’d sometimes claim you were. Maybe that’s what the promise was about, the official deal of it all?
”I’m here. I promise.”

Major Conveniences ~ part 4
Klitz (The Girl Next Door) x fem!reader
Link to my main masterlist    Link to reading this on Ao3
Masterlist for Major Conveniences
A/N - Another shitty gif made by yours truly. I’m like afraid I’m messing up my internal timeline of all of this but like... Fuck it. I’ll blame it on the fact that some Americans start school in September. I've been going over this chapter like a thousand times. Edited, added scenes, rewritten several things. And been very overly critical of myself about this... So I'm hoping that's just my brain harassing lil me who's sick and not this actually being bad despite my several hours/several days worth of re-reading, editing and so on.
Wish me luck/hope you enjoy the longest chapter yet :) !!
Word Count for this part - 2938
Tumblr media
Denial doesn’t work a long way when this thought was nagging at your brain.
It wasn’t like it would actually be a concretely bad thing? But it would be strange. Unusual for sure. And a situation that you wouldn’t really know how you’d react to until you knew for sure.
And still when you hung out with him without the intention of actually saying something about it you thought up all these different scenarios of that moment. All the different ways you could say it, ask him. All the different ways that he could react and respond.
It ranged everywhere from you bursting into his dorm dramatically and talking in a voice that belonged in a 1930’s drama, to you not even asking and him just admitting it. Or you asking him straight forward and him getting upset that you could even ask such a thing.
All you knew was that you had to ask him anyhow or get your mind somehow wiped from ever thinking the thought that now had grown rather obsessive.
~~~
”Klitz?” You called, knocking on his just slightly open dorm room door, opening it a bit more to lean into the room, poking your head through. Your boyfriend sitting by his desk, swivelling around to look at you.
”Yea?”
”Hi.”
”Hey.”
”So-” ~ ”Are-” You spoke at the same time, interrupting each other. The nervousness almost reminding you of when you first became friends, the way you’d both be so eager of talking to each other that you accidentally interrupted each other. Although that hadn’t changed that much it wasn’t as common now when you were more comfortable.
”You go first.” Klitz was quick to offer up but was met with a quick shake of your head.
”No- no… you can go first." You chuckled before hesitantly adding on "I-... insist.”
”You insist?”
”Well yeah, now I’m curious.” It wasn't really that you were curious, you were protecting your embarrassment and other curiosity. This didn’t even matter, but you needed to know. At least know that you weren’t completely crazy for at least thinking it.
”Are you doing anything tonight?” He asked you, not the question he had been wanting to ask just seconds before but a question he wasn't as nervous about asking. Although the nervousity lingered anyway.
Although that wasn't really noticed by you as you had your own uneasiness but tried not to show it when you shrugged and went to sit down on his bed making him turn his chair to still face you.
”No, not really, you?”
”Nope, eat dinner together?"
"Yeah, absolutely."
"So, what were you going to say?"
Well shit. Come up with a new question or fess up?
"Well, I was wondering... Or- I mean, I was- thinking about... I don't know." It felt as if you were carefully skipping around the question, chuckling at your embarrassment a little trying to somehow save face in this situation. "It's just... I thought I... Was it-"
"It was me."
"It was you?" You repeat shyly with eyes narrowed and brows furrowed, wondering if he actually knew what you were asking. He nodded quickly, his cheeks turning slightly red and blew out a quick breath. "So..." you started, stammering out a few sounds before coming to your next question, "how?"
"Me and my friends made the video."
"Eli?" He nods quickly "Checks out with what I've heard about him I guess.” The way he now was a director, living out in Los Angeles for the most part and had skipped college, ”But- like... how?"
"Are you mad at me?" He blurts out with insecurities loaded thickly in his tone, leaning onto his knees with his elbows as his eyes are intently focused on the end of his button-up shirt where he's fiddling with the seams. Bouncing both of his knees. Portraying the image of extremely visible nervousness too well. Well shit.
"No, no of course not.” You immediately answer, trying to comfort him as quickly as possible. Your eyebrows pulled up in concern whilst you leaned forward to place a hand on one of his knees. ”I mean it's a video where you show your dick and it's like out there, like everywhere. I'm just... I'm shocked I guess? Also, I like… I was not prepared to see your dick in that video? Couldn't you have just... told me, like in beforehand?"
"How would I do that?"
"I don't know!" You guffawed raising your shoulders to your ears, "Somehow? Maybe started it slowly by telling me how it came to happen? The steps up to it?" You took a deep breath, breathing it out as a heavy sigh of relief as you realized that you had actually sort of asked the question you were nervous about, now it was just to deal with the sort of not really aftermath. "Were you just hoping I wouldn't recognize your body?" Klitz finally looked up at you again, his knees were still bouncing nervously but at least he seemed more at ease.
"Sort of."
"Well that feels kinda fucked, but I don't know. I mean this is not like a normal relationship thing that just happens."
"Well my friend Matt sort of went through this."
"What?"
"Yeah, that's how- it's how we got Ferrari and April. Matt's girlfriend turned out to be a pornstar and..."
"and?"
You egg him on kindly, wanting to hear everything he'll tell you. After all, this situation is... quite strange. To say the least.
"And she asked them."
"Okay."
"It's all a long story."
"I bet." You chuckled in exasperation shaking your head, hopping further in on his bed to lean against the wall. Klitz got out of the chair to go sit beside you, his eyes just extremely focused on you.
It had gone from focused on the floor and the shirt to flickering up to you once in a while to this. The focus and wariness that were in his eyes were almost drowning away anything else. Your hand going up to sit against his cheek, stroking your thumb against his upper cheek. Before shaking your head just lightly with a small sigh before telling him "Don't look at me like that."
"Like what?"
"Just you looking at me is almost like someone giving me puppy eyes. It's unfair." And yet, unable to tear your eyes away. The way his lips almost pouted a little but gradually calmed down and slowly turned into a small smile. Running your thumb over his lips quickly and softly and laying a peck on them. Hoping Klitz would calm down even more. Although calming for you as well.
With the amount you had been stressing over this you couldn’t even imagine how much Klitz could’ve been terrorizing himself with questions and what-ifs. Questions if you ever would ask him or confront him about all of this and so on.
It wasn't like he had anything to apologize for or that there was something inherently wrong with the situation. It was just strange for the both of you. Definitely a new situation.
"How did it all go down with Matt and his girlfriend?"
"Oh, you don't want to know. Not the first reaction anyway."
"Really?" A small grin was placed on your face with your eyes widening just slightly in curiosity as you became even more intrigued.
"Eli gave him advice and he took it."
"Ah."
"Yeah."
Although not knowing Eli, knowing about him and hearing what he usually said on the phone to the guys when you were hanging out in Klitz's room when one of them called was enough to know it probably wasn't the best advice. Or at least not phrased in the best way kind of advice.
"You want to go get dinner?"
"For sure."
~~~
It would still linger in your head for a while. Of course, it would. But it didn’t undo anything with Klitz or your feelings for him. Is there even a reaction to this that would be saner than just... accept it and try to move on but still feel a bit strange about it?
It was just a weird situation. Or rather, an unusual situation.
"Hey, you good?" Klitz squeezed your hand as you sat across from each other at a table in the dining hall. The rest of the hall not quite loud but definitely not quiet either, not yet swarming with students like it would eventually.
"Yeah, I'm good."
"It's weird isn't it?"
"It's a bit weird." You affirmed with a small smile and a nod. Klitz had read you, analysed you for a second and realized what you were thinking about. Or perhaps you were just very obvious. Either way it was sweet of him to check in as well as affirm the way you were feeling about this.
"But we're fine?"
"We're fine. I promise. It would be silly to let it affect anything. Besides... I- I like you."
"I like you too."
Klitz is special, there just had to be some special things about him that would stand out especially.
"Anyhow,” You started, not really trying to diverge from the subject but rather almost diving in deeper, ”I'm intrigued now. I mean this was in your senior year but I feel like I've just heard the main headline? We’ve never really discussed high school Klitz."
~ ~ ~
"So... she's fine with it?"
"It seems so." Klitz sounded a lot more relaxed and content than he had when he called his friends in a panic just someday before about if he was going to tell you or not. Of course, it was the first thing Klitz brought up when Matt had called him and Eli up even if Matt had probably called for some of his own 'friend-counselling'.
"Nice!"
"How did it happen?"
"I just admitted it."
"Bullshit!" Eli immediately exclaimed at what he accounted as blasphemy. "There's no way you just admitted it, Klitzy."
"She was getting to asking me but I just told her."
"Yeah, that sounds more correct." Matt agreed as if he himself also had called Klitz out on his tiny lie.
"I want to meet her."
The silence almost echoes after Eli's declaration.
The sounds from Matt's open window towards campus get louder as the phone's microphone is getting more sensitive to the sound surrounding him.
Klitz sits there slightly stunned, trying to think of the right answer although coming up short. Whilst Matt is probably once again just sitting there in his apartment in Washington DC and smiling smugly at the silence.
Klitz's slightly deeper breath gets through to both Georgetown University and the Los Angeles apartment that Eli is living in.
"No?" Klitz's answer comes out like a question as if he could keep Eli from coming to visit him. As if he even has a reason to want to make him not visit other than the reason of not having one of his best friends, specifically Eli, talking to his girlfriend.
Because he knew that with Eli meeting you, Eli would definitely be; telling you all about Klitz through the years, tell you the whole story of prom night as well as the night at the porn convention.
Sure Klitz had told you a bit more about his senior year and his whole high school time but he had not told you about the porn convention and he hadn't maybe told the whole story of prom night. Which he now asked himself if he was going to regret, especially considering Eli.
"No?" Eli scoffed before insisting on his declaration, "I said I want to meet her."
"No, dude."
"Fuck you, I'm coming!"
"We'll see each other on winter break!"
"So? Are you bringing her?" Klitz had definitely thought about it but wasn't sure you'd want to. Besides meeting the parents? Not something he wanted to do right now, not so soon after you found out about the video anyway.
"I-"
"Yeah no, exactly! It's not about the tripod, it's about her. I want to meet her, dude!"
Klitz knew he couldn't argue against all of that. There was no real reason for you and him not to meet except the attempt to try and spare himself from the embarrassment he knows Eli could and would cause.
"Matt, you're coming with me! Let's make a little reunion out of it." Eli's voice was something between a whine and a stereotypical version of the successful movie director he'd become pitching an idea.
"Dude."
"C'mon Matt! You could bring Danielle with you."
"Fine, sure, whatever. When?"
~~~
Early December in Connecticut turned out to be not all that bad, there had been some snow, and it had gotten a lot colder than when you and Klitz had first kissed over a month and a half ago. But the cold wasn’t all that bad.
Though that could also sort of be because of the added motivation of staying warm through wearing the clothes Klitz gave you and staying close to him as much as possible.
The cold weather was simply both a perk and a disadvantage. It made most of the students refrain from going outside. Which meant that both your and Klitz’s roommates were staying in more.
Which basically meant that wherever you went, you would not be alone. The only times you could look around you and truly feel alone was maybe out walking around campus. Which sucks when winter finals feel like they’re right around the corner and right after that it’ll be winter break.
So that resulted in you and Klitz walking around campus a lot even with the cold. Some kind of alone time was better than none.
”So… what are you doing during winter break?” You asked with a small smile on your lips. The two of you currently with nowhere to be, no class, no other obligation. One of the things you missed that you couldn’t get in a warmer setting.
Although this wasn’t a bad situation at all especially considering that he stopped every few minutes to coop your hands into his. Trying to warm them up even if you hadn’t mentioned anything about them being cold in the first place.
”Just going home, watching tv with my parents, playing games with the guys, calling you. What are you gonna do?”
”Wait for you to call me I guess.” You responded almost sarcastically with a chuckle but not feeling any actual sarcasm behind the thought. ”And enjoy the cold weather as much as one can.”
”You won’t really have to wait.”
”Really?”
”Promise.”
”Good.” You narrowed your eyes playfully before bumping your side into him a little. And then Klitz stopped in his tracks, making you stop as well. ”Klitz?”
”I need to tell you something-”
”Please tell me you didn’t make another video with you and your dick out again?” If Klitz hadn’t seen the teasing smirk and heard the chuckle you let out he would’ve probably freaked out a little at that question.
”No,” He said, the usual small smile placed on his lips before getting to the words he was almost afraid to say, ”Matt and Eli are coming to visit me here at Yale… But- they’re really- They’re really here to… ehm… to meet you.”
”Well… that sounds fun? I mean you guys haven’t seen each other for a while right?” Klitz felt himself release a sigh of relief at that. Sure his main freaking out agenda revolved around the stuff that Eli could reveal. Not the actual thing of you meeting his friends. But he still worried that you’d somehow pick up his nervousness and freak out as well.
”Yeah.”
”But they’re here to meet me?”
”Yes.” Klitz’s answers were short as his thought kept going a thousand miles per hour in his head. On the inside almost constantly begging the universe to let the guys’ visit go smoothly. Klitz couldn’t take another bump in the road directly after the sex-ed tape one.
”Y’know… the three of us are going to see each other during winter break anyway. When Matt and I are back from school and- and Eli is going home for the holidays too. But they… well I’ve talked about you and Eli sort of demanded to meet you.”
”You talk about me?”
Sure you had known somewhat that they knew of you. Especially when you were hanging out in his room and one of them had called, he’d mention that you were with him and so on. So they definitely knew of you. But the question was more if they knew about you and how much.
”Yeah of course- I mean, yeah sure.” Klitz almost wants to clamp one of his hands over his mouth after his first rush of an answer. Klitz wasn’t sure how to really answer the question when he thought about it after he’d already answered. Would it be weird to tell you that he talks about you nearly every time they talk or would it be even weirder if he lied and told you that he almost never mentions you?
”Klitz?”
”Yes. I talk about you. Kind of a lot.” He decided upon telling the truth, after all, it’s… flattering. He hoped.
”That’s cute. You’re cute. So, when are they coming to visit?”
”Next weekend.”
”Cool. Cool, cool, cool.” You mumbled with a smile, Klitz starting to walk again, you lingering just some step behind. You had met Klitz’s friends before, but those were the ones he had met just some week or two before you, not his childhood friends.
The friends you were sort of desperate to impress.
Major Conveniences ~ part 3
Klitz x Female!reader
Link to reading it on Ao3    Link to main Masterlist
Masterlist for Major Conveniences
A/N- Once again very fluffy and very corny. But we got the teeny tiny plot I’ve actually thought of for this fic stirred in!
Word Count for this part - 2 005
Tumblr media
Klitz was always in a way beautiful. Whether he was in his peak nerdiness with awkward glances or when he got that random peak of confidence and whispered things just some millimetres away from your ear.
But this was clearly his most beautiful moment that you had seen yet. You’d been dating for a while now and Klitz’s roommate was visiting his parents for the week and so you had been able to stay in his room last night after you'd hung out. So there you were lying beside a beautiful sleeping Klitz.
He had started growing out his bangs and kept with the side-swept bangs for a while now. You hadn't ever really suggested it but you kept sweeping his bangs to the side to see his eyes. So you might’ve had something to do with it. But who wouldn't do that to be able to see those eyes clearly?
Although you couldn't see his eyes now, there was still something lovely about being able to just see him without that big fringe blocking his face from you. And the way his hair spread out over the pillow behind him. His mouth slightly parted as he lightly snored in his sleep. His arms around you even in his sleep, his arms would probably be completely asleep when he woke up.
He simply looked so in peace. And yet it was time to disturb that peace just a little.
"Baby?" You whispered, pressing one kiss on his chest, another one onto his neck before lifting yourself a little and craning your head up to press one onto his forehead as well. "Klitzy." You sang softly as his eyes slowly started to open, mouth starting to grumble a little sleepily.
"Good morning," he mumbled practically as soon as he could start to speak, a small smile forming on his lips.
You hadn't been able to do this yet because neither of you felt truly comfortable putting your roommates in that situation. There had still been moments alone in each other's rooms just not sleeping over completely.
But now it was just the two of you, laying there side-by-side.
"I don't want to get up yet." You grumbled slightly as you nuzzled yourself into his arms, resting your face in the crook of his neck, one of his hands coming up to stroke the back of your head.
"We don't have to."
"You sure?" Klitz was often the one who was the reasonable one, the one to get up early, the one to study more. But he had started to indulge more in everything, in going to the parties, in spending as much time as possible with you. "No test you need to study for or anything?"
"Nuh-uh. Just spending all my time here today with my girl."
"Your girl, huh?" You questioned raising your head out of the crook of his neck, your eyebrows shooting up and smiling smugly at him. He hadn't asked you yet but to be honest, you'd figured that he just forgot to ask.
"Did I not- are we not?-... fuck." He had been stressing over that ever since you first kissed him when to ask, how to ask. By this point he had just thought about it enough to believe that he had already asked you to be his girlfriend.
"You're so cute."
"Yeah?" He chuckled whilst shaking his head softly at himself. "So you want to be my girlfriend?"
"Of course." You mumbled in response, sleepily getting closer to him before connecting your lips to his.
Klitz still felt as if he was in some sort of too-good-to-be-true dream. His classes were challenging and fun, although he didn't like all of his professors. Things with his friends, both the ones at the college and Eli and Matt, were going good. And you were like a dream come true.
With that in mind, he almost felt as if he was just waiting for the bubble to pop. For something to go wrong or at least for one of his courses to truly get hard and frustrating.
But instead, he just got content with the way everything was going. Klitz didn't feel as out of place anymore as he had in high school. Of course, he had had Matt and Eli back then but now he could start taking up more space, so he did.
He started voicing his opinions more and also learnt when he shouldn't.
"What do you mean you haven't seen it?" His friend Jake exclaimed as they sat in the library.
"Dude! Keep your voice down." Klitz immediately whisper-shouted back, swatting his arm before looking back down at his course literature. You were supposed to join them soon enough and for probably the first time since he'd met you, this was a conversation Klitz did not want you in.
"No seriously, how have you not seen it? It's like being passed around religiously!" The educational video that the tripod had made at prom had gone big, so he heard about it often. Usually it was discussed in groups. Weirdly enough not in his own group of friends so far but he could hear it around campus.
Either in whispers among a small group of friends who didn't want the surrounding people to hear them say 'dick' in the library and get strange looks. Or it could be in the middle of one of the campus lawns with loud laughs flooding from them as they discussed it.
There were all sorts of opinions on it, some loved it and discussed how it would make a true difference within sex ed. Some just absolutely hated it because they thought that their way of making it had been wrong. And some just talked about it to laugh about it or create an inside joke out of it.
"I just haven't." That was a lie. Klitz had gotten to see it when it had been finished in editing and before it had been sent over for mass production. But he supposed he hadn't truly watched it, he had fast-forwarded to his part of the video.
Klitz hadn't told anyone at college about his last few months in high school. He was a pretty quiet person as is and when getting to college he really didn't want to be the guy to tell everyone that he had been to a porn convention and that he's already paid off his tuition through the money that he had gotten from that video.
What was he supposed to say, 'Yeah that video with someone sitting completely naked next to a pornstar and she puts a condom on them? Yep, that's me!'. Besides, he wore the fencing mask for a reason.
At the same time, he wanted to see the video again. And wanted to see reactions to it, after all, he had just heard the conversations people had had after seeing it, not whilst seeing it. He maybe just didn't want to talk about it, afraid that the information that it’s him would somehow slip out.
~~~
"I got it!"
"Klitz, come on!" You dragged him along with you into the room that everyone was gathering into. It hadn't really struck him that this was how the groups had seen it. Sitting in front of the TVs, all clustered together.
"Do you really want to see this?"
"Klitz, they're all saying that this is revolutionizing-"
"Not everyone."
"No, okay, but a lot of people are." You insisted before adding "And I don't want to see it with a group of practically strangers without my boyfriend there. It's just a few minutes long, then we'll go right back to studying or whatever." You exaggeratedly told him in a whiny tone whilst pouting at him and pulling on his arm.
"Fine." He chuckled, following into the room along with you, letting you pull him down onto the couch pillows that sat on the ground in the far back of the room.
And then there the video was, playing up like old memories, like a home video for Klitz... except not that family-friendly.
"How do you think they shot this? I mean that looks like a high school, right? Like an actual one?" You questioned quietly so you wouldn't get shushed. Meanwhile Klitz found himself barely even looking at the tv and instead glancing at you pretty often to gauge your reactions. "How many people do you think actually takes this in? Like, doesn’t get distracted by... y'know the... them?"
You kept making small comments, small questions that you just wanted to voice and didn't need answers to, although maybe you’d ask some of them again later to actually discuss them.
And then there April was again, sitting on the tables in the library and he entered in his fencing mask, a robe around him that quickly got unwrapped by April. And then there he was.
And the room Klitz was in currently bursting out into remarks about him. Several of the guys and girls talking about how he was huge. Bringing a smug smirk to his face.
But then he turned his head to you and there you sat just quietly. Not making a single comment or any sort of face he could try to interpret.
He already knows that you had said something along the lines of what the people around you just said when you first saw his dick. So he knew that the dick itself wasn't the problem. Was it the fact that he was there and you didn't want to show some sort of reaction in front of him? Klitz decided not to ask.
Except that you didn't say anything after it was over either, just stood up, reached your hand to Klitz to help him get up and then walked out of the room with him. The two of you going back to your studying and starting to talk about other things.
~~~
"So she just didn't say anything?" Eli questioned as if that could be the worst possible outcome ever.
Silence was probably one of the best outcomes when he truly thought about it. Maybe it was just the nice thing to do, not to say anything about 'another guy's dick' in front of him. "How dare she? I made your dick look good!"
"It already looks good," Klitz argued back as he leaned back in his desk chair, looking out the window at the campus where you were somewhere roaming after your last lecture of the day.
"Did you even want a reaction, Klitz?"
"Of course, he wanted a reaction!"
"Eli!” Matt called out before continuing, ”Klitz, as far as she knows it's not yours, right? And she doesn't know how you'd react to saying something about another guy's. It just makes sense that she wouldn't say anything"
"I guess."
"If you really want to know you could just ask?" Klitz was not going to admit to his first girlfriend that he was the naked guy in a fencing mask in a video circulating nationally.
~~~
You, on the other hand, did not know how to approach this. You couldn't be truly sure of it, could you?
It couldn't be?
Right?
I mean that would just be... wild?
But you weren't sure... So you asked the guy that had had the tape if you could loan it to 'show it to your friends’.
And it felt weird.
Because why wouldn't it feel weird to lock yourself into one of the rooms with a TV and put the tape in and fast forward until... Well until you could try to see if your suspicions had been right.
Klitz doesn't have many identifying marks, not really anyway. But there is a mole on his thigh that you should be able to see if...- and that settles it.
Klitz is in the video that is so-called revolutionizing and being shown all over the country, if not also outside the country. Thousands, probably millions, have seen your boyfriend's dick.
If it's true anyway. Denial was still the main go-to in this situation. Klitz wouldn't be the type to- How did he even?

Welcome Home

Just fluffiness
A/N - So this took a while, for many reasons. The hardest fics to write a part 2 to are the ones which I write completely out of the blue in the middle of the night... which are the only two fics I have been asked to write a part 2 to (Bless the Telephone and my Ted Lasso fic). Also I’ve been busy, had a concussion, so much shit has happened but I’m still sorry this took quite a while.
This is written with like the situation I wrote into the last part, aka Ash is alive, Faye is unfortunately not included (even tho I love her)
Word Count - 1309
Tumblr media
You felt like you were in some sort of movie at this point. It didn’t feel real. In both a really good way but also in a terrifyingly surreal way.
You were almost fearing the moment you'd get to touch him. Afraid that he’d turn out to be some sort of hallucination if you actually reached out for him.
That you’d touch him and suddenly it would turn out to be a dream. That you’d wake up crying just like you had a couple of these mornings. But at the same time you knew you wouldn't be able to hold yourself back.
You’d been leaning against your car for 15 minutes, just waiting. Waiting for the metal fence to open and for him to be close to you and for it to not feel like a dream. Or that if it did he himself could pinch you.
The time had been hard. But the phone calls had helped immensely, the visits even more. But after the first year had gone by you’d gotten used to it all. Gotten used to only having his voice to soothe you but nothing more. Gotten used to not having him around.
And it sucked.
The feeling of getting used to sleeping alone. Getting used to spending most of your time with other people. It almost felt more like a breakup than a long-distance relationship. You couldn’t call him when you wanted but had to wait for the times when he called. The moments where you felt like you could truly breathe in relief and pretend like he was there beside you.
It hadn’t taken long for you to give in to the urge you’d gotten the first time he called. Cuddling down into bed whilst talking to him. At least when you could. It usually resulted in the best sleep you could possibly have, going to sleep right after the phone call cut off. Dreaming for a few hours that he actually was there beside you, holding you.
But then there you were. Just waiting the last couple of moments before you could hold him again. You weren't really expecting some pivotal romantic moment where everything made sense again.
But maybe you also were? It had felt as if a lot of things spun out of control with Fez away, as if everything that had made sense went away with him. You'd functioned whilst Fezco was away. Functioned.
It didn't feel like you could do anything more than that. You didn't thrive, you didn't feel like you were 'living life to the fullest'. It isn't as if you don't have a life without him, it just wasn't the same without him.
It was horrible but also quite... answering. To know that he was such a fulfilling part of your life. To know that he truly made it all that much better. As if he colored in the pages of your life.
And now he'd be back. Bring the color back. Bring the life back into everything. Perhaps make Ash put away his frown more than just the times when you made a joke that was so ridiculously corny that he had to laugh. And definitely make you smile more than you have lately.
Once you started hearing noises from the other side of the fenced gate your heart practically stopped. It had almost been completely silent whilst you had stood there.
And then there he was.
Fez being Fez he approached slowly and casually. As if this moment hadn't been the one thing that you'd been talking about every single time you talked lately. And then there he stood right in front of you. A careful and worried look on his face until you finally crashed into his chest, arms going around his chest tightly, pressing your head onto his chest. As a big grin formed on your face, this is real.
The tension in your shoulders just floating away, the furrow of your eyebrows releasing and a deep breath letting itself out.
"I missed you so much." You told him, although it was sort of muffled by his shirt. Tightening your arms around him just slightly
"Missed you too, baby." He mumbled back, one of his hands stroking your back whilst the other pressed your head against him. Hindering you from stepping back just yet. Pressing a kiss onto your head.
"Let's go home?" You asked softly, craning your head to look at him, seeing his beautiful eyes already looking at you. He nodded, a small smile forming on his face before he placed a kiss onto your lips. "You want to drive?"
Although Fez definitely had nerves that were just flooding his body, both from excitement to be back but also perhaps the same fears you had had, that this wasn't real. That this all felt like some sort of trick. He still wanted to drive.
There is a certain freedom to be sitting behind the wheel, perhaps especially when one has been restricted.
It maybe wasn't the safest thing to do ever but you found yourself leaning over the center console to place your head on his shoulder. To press kisses on his shoulder top of his t-shirt every once in a while. To be able to feel his presence and his touch as he sometimes brought his hand up to pet your head, ruffle your hair a bit or simply run his knuckles along your jaw.
You had thought about every single way to welcome him home. To just drive away from the prison as far as you could, or to go right home and have a party waiting for him, to drive around for hours before going home, to just go home and cling onto him.
It had ended with just asking Fezco what he wanted. Or rather Ash making you ask Fez because your mind was jumping constantly between the options.
No party, no big roadtrip of going as far from the prison as possible, not driving around for hours. Just you, Ash and him in front of the tv like normal.
Some old movie that his grandma had shown him playing on the tv. Probably a western.
And then you were there, parking the car in the small garage next to the house. As soon as the engine switched off and you opened your cardoors you could hear Ash's quick footsteps. Running towards his brother. Fez accepting the impact lovingly. Squeezing his arms around his brother.
Mumbles of 'I love you's to each other quickly. Before Fez moved his hand over Ash's head as if to ruffle the short hair. Making their way into the house with an arm around each other.
Ash had prepared the living room, big bowls of popcorn, drinks already poured up and blankets at the ready.
Feeling that you had touches, hugs, kisses and just everything to catch up on to account for the ones that were lost is intense. It had been a long time of hearing a rule of 'no touching' and now he was just there right in front of you. No rules, no guards, nothing to keep you away from him.
So you settled down, let Fez sit down first, and then leaned into him, putting your arms around him. Just having him beside you was a sort of rush, the warmth that came from him.
There was something added and new in every touch. Especially the small touches were just electric. The tracing of each other's palms, small kisses on top of your head or a small kiss on his neck, the way he strokes your back with the hand behind you. Small whispers between just the two of you or the way you could feel him laughing beside you when you joked about the movie.
The feeling of love rushing throughout the smallest of actions.
