it's funny 2 me when ppl pretend to be so progressive with their headcanons of a queer character but do it in a way that's so sanitized and "palatable"? i've noticed that a lottt of gender/pronoun HCs make a point of explicitly denying femininity, especially with non-binary characters or those perceived as NB. not only is it bland + overdone to hell but actively contributes to transfem erasure/exclusion.

assign ur blorbo "he/they" pronouns and everyone applauds, but never she/her or she/they or god forbid she/him, never implying transfemininity because that's too queer

Happy transsexual Thursday :) Today is actually my first birthday since top surgery!! Also yesterday I had a fantastic experience of getting to go to an event on drag history in our area done by a drag queen!! I got to go out with her and some of the organizers of the event for dinner afterwards and it’s so refreshing to be around an older trans person. I’m usually the oldest trans person in both age and time being out in any circle that I’m in (or just. The only trans person in general) so taking a back seat from that was a bigger relief than I expected. Getting to hear stories and find those shared experiences, both good and bad, was a much needed reminder that there is solidarity and community out there with each other. That it is possible to survive and I can make it too.
