Thinking about the Durante/Zenos WoL/Golbez parallels right now and the one that sticks out the absolute MOST is that Durante is what Zenos would have been if he had his "good reason." If he and the WoL had been on the same team to begin with, if they were fighting the same fight.

Durante doesn't know how to cope with Golbez gone, he was who he was because of Golbez, what was he *without* Golbez, so instead of finding that out, he BECAME Golbez. Just as Zenos needed to know the WoL so badly that he hijacked their body, Durante needed to keep Golbez as close as possible and followed his friend's ambition to it's most destructive extreme, his way of keeping Golbez alive. Like Zenos tore the world apart to keep HIS connection with WoL alive.

when ur movie is specifically abt subverting the trope of villains in media by having ur main characters be identified by the public as the villains and having them fit into character design & personality tropes that are typically reserved only for villains, but treating them as sympathetic 3 dimensional characters who are forced into their role as villains by society. who eventually work together to publicly oust a character who the public saw as a "good guy" as being a person who was using the supposed "bad guys" as a scapegoat to place blame on for their own bad actions and to redirect public outcry towards so as to draw attention away from themselves. and uses this as a baseline to tell a moral abt discrimination, prejudice, and the importance of police/prison reform....... and then some idiot on the internet discraces ur complex message abt morality with a fucking "good to evil" listicle

In Cat, Kazui isn't using the cat analogy in a "cute sly cat" way, he's saying it in a "destructive, can't change their natural instincts" way.

Domestic (indoor) cats have no need too hunt - their owners give them food, they have a supply of water and a warm place to sleep. However, any cat owner knows that indoor cats do still hunt anyway. They can't change their natural instincts, they've been this way since they were born. Any effort done by (bad) owners to try and change this factor of their lives does more harm then good, like declawing for example.

Kazui decides his sin is, well sinful, and chooses to cover it up and hide it away by getting married to Hinako despite not having any actual romantic feelings for her. His sin is not something he can just change because its who he is - like cats hunting because of their ancestors, it's just who they are. When Kazui gets married it only ends up doing more harm then good aswell, he drinks and wallows in guilt and Hinako ends up taking her own life.

Cat's hunting and Kazui's 'sin' are part of who they are but because some people view both of these things as something that must be 'fixed', the stigma around them leads to it being shown in a negative light. 'Fixing' the problem doesn't help Kazui though, because there wasn't a problem to begin with. Just like 'fixing' a cat's natural instincts doesn't help. There is no problem, it's just how theyre born.

I don’t really upload WIPs very often, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt for once. Here’s some tarot card WIPs I’ve had kicking around for a while that I just tied down tonight! 

I had made a list of all the PCs and a bunch of NPCs to fill out all of the Major Arcana, but seeing as it’s been a year since I’ve picked this project up, I doubt ill have the energy for a whole deck. I did want to at least get the PCs + our DMs favorite NPC on the docket, though. I have ideas on how I want to render these out but for now they’ll exist as just these sketches. 

These characters specifically are from the Agaras campaign, in order - Malotz, Schmendrick, Gresh’am, Lyrshel, Alikeri, Cullpepper, and Cartwright.

I saw some people say that the gay Kazui theory is "an insane reach" because there's no hints to it in Half so I went to do some digging and made a compilation of lyrics that I do think hint to the theory

"Please tell me what I should do, feelings shrouded in lies will float away and disappear" is one that might not seem obvious based on Half alone, but the context of Cat helps alot.

Shrouded means 'a thing that envelops or obscures something'. What Kazui is saying in this lyric is that 'the feelings he's hidden will go away'. We know that Kazui lied "for the sake of true love" from Cat so we can assume that the 'thing' obscuring his hidden feeling is his marriage.

Now, holding that thought, here's a piece of queer history. A "lavender marriage" is when a m/w couple get married under the sake of convenience to conceal the sexuality of one or both partners. Now this was done with the consent and knowledge of both partners, but sounds familiar doesn't it? Getting married to hide true feelings. Feelings being shrouded by lies if you will.

There's also this lyric which I find very interesting because the distance in their relationship is caused by Kazui's sin, further proved in a scene that shows right after this. Kazui got married because he thought it would make his true feelings on love dissappear, and when it instead does the opposite and just make his sin more obvious he gets confused and starts to doubt if this is actually "true love" or as he says, happiness. Obviously we know that straight romance isn't the only one to exist, and isn't the "true" or "peak" romance but Kazui is the oldest prisoner in Milgram, so he most likely grew up surrounded by the view that gay marriage is wrong, hence why he doesn't view it as "true love"

this is the distance scene btw, we can see that the green apple (Kazui's sin) is litteraly putting a wedge in his relationship by being in between he and Hinako
