Just finished the Indonesian movie Inang (The Womb) with the IRL besties and that movie really just bashes you over the head in the last like 30 minutes holy fuck. That was such a treat with so many little fun breadcrumbs and so much symbolism to lead you to this absolutely insane ending.

I also cannot believe it came out on my 30th birthday.

1) The Womb (Inang) Dir. Fajar Nugros

the story follows a woman that got pregnant by her asshole boyfriend that ditched her bc she doesn’t want an abortion. She decided to give her baby to a family that wants a baby—so she found herself a nice family through facebook (yikes) and the family is kind enough to offer her a place in their home to take care of her and her baby. Though the family is very creepy and sketchy. It has traditional javanese themes in it!!

2) Impetigore (Perempuan Tanah Jahanam) Dir. joko Anwar

TW: gore

The movie follows maya and her best friend who are both broke lmao. Maya got attacked one day from a man that claimed he’s from a village that she used to live in. Maya did some research and found out her family were rich and has a big house in that village. Maya, accompanied by her best friend, goes to find that big house to the remote village and found strange things about the people that live there: there’s no children around and every baby that was born is dead for some reason

3) Pengabdi Setan (Satan’s Slave) Dir. Joko Anwar

TW: gore

The movie follows a struggling family of 7 with a very sick mother. The dad is rarely there bc he has to go to work, so the eldest daughter is the one that took care the family the most. There’s something creepy about the mother’s past that haunts her and after her death caused her to haunt the family. I really love the sibling dynamics and the atmosphere is very close to home!!! Love this one

7 May 2022. 

Ah, the final run. 

2 days before the "day". The day after is Mother's Day. The next day is the election.

This is it!

Since this is the last run, of course I would never let this past. 

To share, my schedule on that day is packed! 

I remember I have a schedule to watch Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness the same day. I have a movie date. I have to prepare in the morning, go to the movie date. But wait, there's more! We did a little shopping and bought our air cooler. Fast forward, I had to act quickly so I could jump into the crowd in Ayala.

I booked a ride and immediately went to Ayala Avenue, Makati. I am, somehow, familiar with the place (or so I thought, I'll tell you that later). Since my cousins and sister went to the venue earlier because I went to a movie and ran some stuff, you guessed it, we never saw each other during the event. They were in the middle of the Avenue while I was at the side of the main stage. Yes, I have the best spot. Problem is, I have to stand the whole time. We have an LED screen in front of us. So aside from being able to see the main stage from afar, I can see them clearly on the screen. Of course, it is still VP Leni's speech which I just finished.

At the moment, we all feel like we are at the hype of our highest hope. Like we are so close on a brighter tomorrow for the country. Like we are all heading towards a war for Inang Bayan. All for the love of you, Philippines. At that moment, the flags we all are waiving, means so much.

I've never felt so strongly about an election. And this is the first time I am out on the streets wishing for a safer and cleaner tomorrow. Asking strangers to help us help each other. Following simple rules that became so normal to just skip. Being a lot kinder to people. To everyone. Lending a hand, volunteering, sharing the same hope. All because I believe we can make it through. It was an impossible fight from the beginning but just to stand together with millions is indeed a proud moment. I poured my whole heart into this campaign. Believed in the people that I know for sure, doesn't just want power, but to help. Their genuine heart. 

Years from now, when our kids ask where we are when millions decide to fight for the country, I can proudly say I am here. At this moment.

Mass Antigen Testing

for Planning and Construction personnel only lang at bayad ni DE for the sake of peace of mind sa office instead of locking us down again for weeks.

Oh eto muna. This morning, nagising akon gising pa si Renz at tinapos niya edit niya para sa mga tiga SLS. It was finished and successful! I made breakfast earlier. Hotdog with pandesal and coffee for the fam.

Pag pasok sa office, dami ko kaagad ginawa at maraming deadlines. Lalo na 'yung lintik na request from Treasury na 'yan. Akala mo kadaling mag-scan. 'Di man lang maintindihan ni Boss ay.

Around 10am, Ma'am Mo announced na may magaganap na Antigen Testing sa mga PDS and Construction office personnel. Ayun na nga. 5 kami nila Inang, Kriselle, Tina, and Philip nagpunta para magpa-test. And negative kaming lahat, as in LAHAT sa office. Thank you, Lord! Hindi niyo kami pinababayaan. :)

Lunch break, nanood kami ng Live Selling ni Inang ng mga nasa Japan Surplus while drinking brewed coffee and eating lunch. Hehe.

Sa hapon nagtrabaho sa remaining hours at hanggang 3:30pm lang kami. May memo na Family Day today. Kaya yey!! Umuwi na ako kaagad and rest. Kape agad at nanood ng movie. Hehe.
