👻😳🎀📎 for your choice of oc(s)!
DIPPING U N KISSING U ON THE MOUTH !! doing these for eden + ira bc they r both on the mind rn ❣
emoji ask game!
👻: do they believe in ghosts? what are their 'ghostly experiences,' if any?
ira - needed context is that she's (and eden) part alien, part human and born on another world. so, ghosts. not really, though she does believe that paranormal activity can and does exist, but she doesn't necessarily believe in the stock sort of ... mythology? around ghosts? so if someone dies somewhere she isn't going to say "this place is haunted" but she does however personally know like three necromancers so, y'know, anything is possible!
eden - if she can't fistfight it then it is of no concern to her
😳: when scared, do they go into 'fight' or 'flight'?
ira - if it's something she's really scared of (ie intimacy and vulnerability around others) then flight. anything else, fight. but she's also just kind of fearless (often in a stupid manner)
eden - fight 110%. eden's rationale is simple: either she kills it or it kills her and that's that
🎀: how would they fit into other worlds / aus? what aus would you like to try out? what fictional world would they fit / not fit into?
ira - both are set in a modern-ish parallel earth setting (they're vigilantes!) but as mentioned, part alien. i've always wanted to do a college roommates au with alan (ira's archnemesis / neighbor / fellow vigilante / lover) but ira's shtick is that she's a worldhopper, so she can (allegedly) (she's still working things out) travel to any other dimension / world + her magic relates to that (absorbs culture / language like a sponge, very good at surviving in hostile environments, etc) so she's just kind of a walking universal adaptor, au-wise
eden - aggressively modern setting figure skater vigilante from egypt and aforementioned alien world. she would shade differently in a marvel vs dc vs wildstorm setting but i have to say i'm intrigued at the thought of her in hard sci-fi or space opera (star wars. i'm thinking star wars). she is, however, an unrepentant asshole at all times of day in all places imaginable so, as you'd have it, she doesn't really get along with (most) other people
📎: a random fact
ira - stims by snapping her fingers, usually with her right hand but if she's especially stressed she'll do both. her and alan are adhd / autism hostility, respectively
eden - never give her the aux because 1) you will not get it back for the duration of the trip and 2) she will play a never-ending stream of 80s and 90s hard rock, heavy metal, and grunge

Playchoices MCs - Part 9
Previous | Next
artist notes under the cut
Oh... has it been two years since my last Choices MCs picture... oops.
Keziah Carver (SB) | The eldest child in my AME/PTR/SB sibling trio. The most well-adjusted and long-suffering of the bunch.
Quincy Young (LOA) | He fights for the little guy and will take any excuse to ruin shitty employers.
Satoshi Shima (SW) | He's very into science. He and Manu (who I renamed Kiri) stay as friends and meet up occasionally so he can gush about ecology and she can gush about the last adventure she went on.
Zaïre Esparza (WTD) | She carries that axe everywhere, even in the most awkward of situations. It's best to always be prepared for surprise zombies.
Neda Norton (SR) | She could've been a domme from the start! 😭 She had the range! I switched out another skirt for pants because dammit, she deserves it.
Ira Hardwicke (COP) | I changed their default last name cause the Thorne/Rose thing made me want to throw up. They're also not in a relationship with Trystan cause I liked their dynamic before they started dating. Ira lives exclusively off of coffee and sandwiches from the bodega near their uncle's bar.

!!!!!! whenever u choose to give me one or three or. more. oc me 🤲 ready to gain new blorbo in laws
kissing u sweetly on the lips thank u sm brieuc !!
oc ask game
IRA NEDA ROSHANI - the man the myth the legend the eternal star of my dreams (this year's nanowrimo project) aka sol's first blorbim. quasi-human alien (human part half farsi / half korean) retired figure skater and vigilante known as SKYSTEEL. also, the guy who started it all (figure skater vigilante trend). aggressively friendly and charismatic, able to teleport between worlds / dimensions / galaxies, and learn any mode of communication within a few minutes of exposure. likes long hikes on the mountain, experimental industrial post rock, and obstructing justice
ANROTHAN XIX - pronounced AWN ruh hawn (anɹʌhan) ynci-altan assassin-champion (essentially, everyone in her warband voted her "most likely to win any fight ever against anyone anywhere"). umber skin and black-brown eyes, skinny, long hair in lots of little braids kept coiled and pinned tight against her head, fingers tattooed with black rings. hates being made responsible for things (constantly asking to be demoted) despite being one of the highest-ranking individuals in the ynci-altan army, brusque but kind, hates traveling
BLUE WILSON - cousin to ALAN WILSON (poltergeist), also known as the vigilante EIDOLON, and co-ceo of ThorneTech with alan. hair trigger temper, welsh accent that gets heavier when they're angry or tired, and probably just as buff as alan (no one has ever gotten close enough to check). tetchy about personal boundaries and space but very overtly affectionate with people they're familiar with (alan and ira). looks related to alan in the way that they both have the same features but wear them differently; tall, square shoulders and jaw, black curly hair, blue eyes, but where alan stands like the 🧍‍♂️ emoji at all times possible and has a face to match, blue has a tendency to fidget and is extremely expressive

if ur ocs were tarot cards which would they be and why
sir shaw i am dipping u backwards and kissing u so so sweetly thank u SO much for this ask im ❣❣❣ i will restrain myself and do a moderate and conservative top ten ft. some of the guys im doing for artfight (honestly unbelievable that signing up for artfight means i actually have to draw my ocs ...)
1. hasseleh hezeri: nine of swords
hizi has been drawn as nine / ten of swords so it is her card :) she's not an overly tragic character but there's an underlying strain of grief and loss that kind of haunts her story. both cards are typically dark (color-wise) which fits both her faith / perspective on life and her clothing choices
2. adeth del: the high priestess
adeth is VERY devout and is regarded by everyone who knows her as a bit of the kahali equivalent of a priestess / prophetess. she's extremely intuitive and faithful, both in the religious and loyal sense
3. ira neda roshani: the tower
ira is queen of disaster and calamity, babey!! her entire life is just one shitshow after the other and she is an expert in new beginnings and constant flux. she's also seen by some as the reincarnation of an ancient deity + very reckless
4. kirand: queen of swords
sol's no.1 reluctant assassin character! queen of swords is a card of unbiased judgement, independence, and keeping emotion in check. kirand's formative development was very tumultuous, balanced out by the person they've now become--just, unyielding, and disciplined
5. formosa fuyue: seven of wands
formosa turned against his own people to aid in the revolution of kahal, which garnered him a shit ton of people who (yaaay!!) hate his guts! he has a very calm and reserved manner, but this hides a well of self-doubt and uncertainty
6. blue / sepehr fainn: three of swords
card of emotional resilience and recovery / healing! blue is stunningly one of my most mentally healthy characters and often plays impromptu therapist to those around him. he’s very centered and knows himself, in and out
7. koeia kurhah: judgment
koeia is the last spirit seer of kahal. also, during the threshing--what some call the part of the kahali revolution where most of the ruling class were executed--he killed his parents and two sisters (tl;dr kahali soldiers were previously oppressed by the ruling class, revolted, and revamped the government. dissenters--mostly members of the ruling class--were killed quickly and efficiently). card of big decisions, self-awareness, change, and absolution
8. nix byrne: the moon
nix is a telepath--among other things--and very inwardly focused, prone to introspection and careful deliberation. she’s also very fearful and anxious, especially earlier in her arc. also, moon aesthetics are like. her Thing.
9. eden van harris: five of cups
card of challenge and loss. eden is someone who keeps moving on no matter the cost and yet someone who has suffered heavy defeat at almost every turn. also, she holds grudges like a motherfucker
10. malice: death
change and transformation! malice is a very transformative character. also, she kills things a lot
also: art!

🌽: How does this OC feel about acts of affection? What's their favourite act of affection, physical or emotional? < for Ira?
thank u for the ask !!! ur the best ❣
oc ask game!
ira feels conflicted about acts of affection. she's an affectionate person but only on her terms and only to like three people. she's loud and messy in her affection and isn't afraid of showing it in public but if anyone tries to show HER affection that she doesn't know or like--she's liable to bite. her love language is quality time and physical touch, but she's a fantastic reader of body language and usually tailors her displays to whomever she is showering in affection :)

can you j answer all of them for loml ira neda :) or 🍉🍋🍫🍻 ig :D (i have tried to send this ask FOUR times what is HAPPENING)
ASKWKEKDS UR NOT ALONE I'VE BEEN TRYING TO ANSWER ANOTHER ASK BUT TUMBLR KEEPS GLITCHING OUT ..... thank u SM for this ask ilysm ❣❣
oc asks!
🍉: does your oc have a particular piece of jewellery that they always wear or refuse to part with?
yes! ira and her friend group (danika, neri, rian, etryn, her, and formerly her brother) all made this kind of pact when they were kids to always keep a piece of each other with them, so they all wear a bronze ring that’s kind of like. their group trademark. ira wears both hers and her brother’s on one of her thumbs :)
🍋: what is your oc’s most painful memory?
deeefinitely when her twin (adrian nemat) died! they were extremely close and when he died, a piece of her died with him
🍫: where does your oc go to think?
high places! the higher the better! a favorite is the roof of her home but the top of any building will do, as well as nearby mountains
🍻: what's your oc’s favourite comfort ritual? how do they calm themselves down after a rough day?
ira neda specializes in making homemade hot chocolate and aggravating alan within an inch of his life. sometimes both at the same time. ira doesn’t sleep much due to her Many and Varied Issues, so she’ll do any sort of busywork that keeps her hands busy and her mind empty--but a fan favorite is invading the wilson home and following alan around while he tries to do things
and bonus picked randomly:
🍩: what's a crime your oc is most likely to commit? what's a crime they're most likely to get arrested for?
ira HAS been arrested for vandalism, aggravated assault, breaking and entering, and charges of first degree murder, though only the first has managed to stick! a crime she is most likely to commit is the premeditated murder of one (1) alan wilson

which oc is ur most specialist blorbo at the moment and which oc is ur telltale heart whos banging ur floorboards begging for attention and tell me a little smth abt each
HELLO ... sir shaw im kissing u directly on the mouth this is SO late but ❣
AT THE MOMENT. im Obsessed w adeth del bc im also drawing her! adeth is an ex-assassin in my space opera bullshit. she’s blue’s friend and twenty-seven’s mentor and is in their cadre along with formosa fuyue and zhelan nox. she helped blue overthrow kahal’s government in the revolutionary war and as a result people started calling her “the blade of kahal.” the mask (based on a traditional korean festival mask!), dual-wielded scythes, sash, and hair braided into a spiked circlet all denote her as a tumbler. tumblers are like the elite of the kahali military; they’re meant to draw attention and fire away from the body of the army (which work as assassins / guerilla groups) and essentially serve as very bright targets--if you can hit them. which. you usually can’t. she’s very levelheaded and practical and the oldest of the group, which has the unintended effect of everyone else looking up to her :)
blorbo no.2 is ira neda ... one of my first and favoritest .... she’s half-farsi and mostly alien and she’s a vigilante in Made-Up City in New York! she’s AGGRAVATING bc she is so very short (5′1) but either extremely aggressive or aggressively friendly and there is little to no in between. when she isn’t committing aggravated assault, she works as a translator at a big company. she’s kind of a polyglot and knows a Lot of languages (this is what my college education is for!) and also used to be an olympic figure skater! she is a very busy woman and also sleeps approximately 1.5 hours a week to maximize her efficiency which has had ... effects ... on her sanity. but she’s doing great!

i hope you know that every day i wish i could read your book and really enjoyed reading the nanowrimo tidbits you sent, you should infodump about it 👀
CROW ... this is so so sweet i am kissing u gently on the mouth . also this is great timing bc i am just about to compile a vigilante's guide to knowing when to die into a goog file that i can send to my friend (part of our bargain in me convincing him to do nanowrimo w me this year)
snippet from book 2 for u:
The Rift gave a sudden convulsive shudder. Skysteel felt it all the way to her ankles as it threw her out—and away. She was freefalling before she even knew it, pinwheeling through the air like a shitty paper airplane. Sky-ground-sky-ground-BUILDING passed in a dizzy blur right up until she smacked into a billboard with a comedic sound. She would have laughed, except her lungs seemed to have gone on impromptu strike at the time of impact. It really was a hard-knock life, huh? Black spots swarmed her field of vision. An Avian shrieked at the sight of her and dove, the razor talons of its feet extended fully and bladed wings gleaming in the bright sun. Poltergeist and Eidolon were both yelling something over comms but she couldn’t parse anything—all she could see was the golden light of the Avians surrounding her, all she could feel was the agonizing feeling of the Rift splitting open wider far above her. The golden light of the Avians turned blinding. Skysteel’s secondary eyelids dropped down for a split second. But— That was no fucking Avian. A man shining like a blue sun reached down and gently plucked an Avian off Skysteel’s prone body laying in the ruin of the billboard. One moment his hand closed around its shoulder and the next—it was a still-glowing pile of fine, off-white ash on the ground. “That was stupid,” he said. Skysteel took the hand he offered and heaved herself up out of the pieces of billboard she’d fallen to the ground with. “That’s what I want on my headstone,” she told him, wincing and touching a hand to her ribs.
anyways i rarely talk abt a vigilante's guide (which some of u who have been following for a long time may know under the previous title of "demon city" and / or "demon eyes" and so all the stuff i've posted abt it r under those tags) bc it's like That One Big project for me. like u know how brandon sanderson has the stormlight archive that kind of is the hub / culmination of all his works across the brandonsandersonverse (official term is brandon sanderson's "cosmere")? for me that's vigilante's guide. also it's exceedingly self-indulgent is the other reason.
it's gone through like 50 different iterations bc it's existed in my brain for nearly as long as i can remember (i think over a decade at this point) and the Ira Neda i talk about (my supreme blorbo, if you will) is the protagonist! i have ambitions for it spanning five books with the second (formerly "demon eyes") titled a vigilante's guide to destroying the world but right now books 1 and 2 are existing in the same doc (DEMON MEGADRAFT) because i'm trying to see what gets shaken out of it while i play with a non-linear timeline between the two
as a result, there are a lot of ideas that are getting spun into it (and even more ideas that i've had trial runs of before editing or cutting them entirely) but it's got the run of the mill superhero genre setup: we have a recognizable earth set in the near-ish future / a time that's somewhat similar to our own, we have a bunch of vigilantes running around fighting ordinary crime and supervillains (tho these are mainly just called "terrorists" in-world bc, well.), and different people have different powers from different things (but mostly it's because they're alien / part alien lol)
book one (knowing when to die) follows ira neda's arrival in anehaven, a (fictional) city in new york, where she is trying to unravel the circumstances that led to her twin brother's death several years ago. she promises herself, her family, her friends, and a lot of strangers that she isn't in that vigilante business anymore, if she ever really was: she's retired now. she just wants to live a quiet life (lie) and she doesn't intend to instigate anything (lie) and she is never picking up the mantle again (lie). but anehaven, like ira neda herself, has secrets of its own. the city is alive--and it hungers. people have been disappearing from the streets without a trace for over a year now, more and more with each month that passes. she makes some friends (criminal empress and her two partners in crime as well as ... actual partners), she makes some enemies (her fellow vigilantes) there are three questions now that have no answers: what happens to these people? why does the sidewalk have teeth? and who the FUCK is this other guy calling himself a vigilante?
book two is a little more abstract on account of I Still Haven't Figured out Subplots for it, but it's your stock alien invasion with ensemble cast: here we introduce cori sanchez, the (also) (formerly) retired HUSH, a mirek'ar necromancer; alec iakabos, SOLSTICE, and noah harper, EQUINOX, whom you can think of as "gosh, i really was VERY inspired by wildstorm comics when i was fifteen, huh," if you're familiar with apollo and midnighter from them; along with some familiar faces from the first book--alan and blue wilson (POLTERGEIST and EIDOLON, respectively) and ira neda. names capitalized to make it easier for me to keep track of them lol.

Love you!
I LOVE U TOO CHARLES <3 mwhah thank u sm <3
oc introductions
ORRICK GRAVES - no.1 saddest and wettest patheticguy! necromancer from california featured in my first ever urban horror story. tall, scruffy, kinda pale, works full-time job as a hedge manager (lol) and part-time employed by the city as a necromancer (to heal or bring people back from the dead). wears a lot of silver (energy repository for necros) and is generally the most damp blanket around. guy bestfriends with retired mage IVER HAWTHORNE. likes pigeons.
EDEN VAN HARRIS - three years running voted most likely to bite someone unprovoked! egyptian half-alien come to america in her teens and adopted by IRA NEDA ROSHANI, also known as the vigilante EDEN (creativity only extends as far as acts of violence enacted upon others). able to manipulate gravity and friction, famous for once punching a man so hard she crushed his sternum. meanest asshole alive to everyone including her friends (it's equality!) but delights in being with people who bite back. belongs to my group of figure skater vigilantes (please don't ask, i don't know why i have so many of them either). tall, buff, dark skin and dark hair that's been dyed and bleached and dyed so many times it's given up its attempts to be curly, best nose in the world (focal point of her face) that's also been broken like three times, and like 50 face piercings

“You and your little friend.” Bane waved a hand. “The broody one with the mirror-bright mask.”
Ira was immensely tickled by this. She was going to be telling this to that irritating twat as soon as possible. “My little friend! Poltergeist?”

26 ( tending an injury ) for ... -spins wheel- ira and alan :)
for the affection ask game (if u send me asks i'll kiss u on the mouth)
Ira looked like a cat that had just dumped a rat at someone’s feet—smug, satisfied, and covered in blood.
“You are everything that is wrong with the world,” Alan told her, which would only encourage her.
Her response was an eloquent, “up yours, Wilson!” and a broad, crimson-stained grin.
“What did you do?” Alan asked, letting her in and throwing a towel over her so she wouldn’t get blood on the floors. He’d just swept and mopped.
“What you don’t know can’t hurt me,” Ira told him, scrubbing at her face with the towel and swaying lightly.
“What did you do to yourself,” Alan said as a slight emendation, holding her by the shoulders and looking her over. She’d traded her suit in for a ratty jumper and leggings with a hole in one knee at some point in the night. They were a soft, faded grey, and there was a slow-spreading crimson stain on her shoulder.
“It was done to me by someone else,” Ira said with dignity, like she wasn’t all shades of violet and green. “For the record, I started and also finished it. You should see the other guys.”
As he slung Ira over one shoulder and let her fists thump sporadically against his spine and ribs, Alan considered that this may have been karmic justice for what a uniquely awful child he had been. Getting her into the kitchen was easier than it usually was. She only protested once or twice but quieted down when Alan grumbled at her about the floors.
“Jumper off,” Alan said briskly, pulling out Blue’s First Aid kit. “What's wrong.”
“Laceration on upper left deltoid, pulls like a bitch when I use my arm but nothing too vital. Stitches and some gauze, I’ll be good as new in a few days. Massive shiner, split lip, abraded knees, but those’ll be fine by tomorrow, mostly. Bruised ribs, but there’s not much you can do for those.”
“We’ll see about that.” Alan ripped open a suture pack and got to work, cleaning the blood off Ira’s bare shoulder and checking her over for anything else she had neglected to mention.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t immune to the sight of a half-naked Ira sitting on his kitchen table and kicking her heels against his leg. She was covered in scars, more than Alan, even, pale lines criss-crossing dark bronze skin. Here, discoloration from a chemical burn. Here, pockmarks denoting a spray of shrapnel. Here, a grid of knife scars high on her ribs.
Then there were the tattoos. Alan couldn’t fathom most of them. There were words in—as far as he could tell—an amalgam of Farsi and alien languages, swords and trees and nonsensical tally marks and a thumbprint moon at the base of her neck. Many of them covered the worst of the scars, so that passing his hands over her skin turned discovery after discovery.
Alan managed to keep his eyes safely fixed on the side of Ira’s neck instead of following the line of her collarbone down to the dip of the hollow of her throat, and then—
“Done.” Alan smoothed down a gauze pad and stripped his gloves off. “Why didn’t you go to the clinic?”
“It wasn’t that bad,” Ira said with a one-shouldered shrug, making a face. “I wanted you to experience the unparalleled joy of my presence, or whatever.”
“And bleed onto my floors,” Alan said.
“I’d never!” Ira thumped Alan on the shoulder as he stood between her legs and popped open a tube of Arnica. “Don’t bother. They’ll be gone by tomorrow.”
“It’s not a bother, and that doesn’t mean they don’t hurt.” Alan squeezed clear gel out onto a finger and grabbed Ira’s pointy chin with one hand, turning her head to the side so he could start smearing Arnica onto her black eye. “You came to me, and I’m fixing you up.”
“I came to tell you that you don’t have to worry about Doc Chronos anymore,” Ira said, lashes fluttering closed as Alan worked gel into the soft skin under her eye.
“Elaborate.”
“He’s shutting down his shit. Packing his bags. On indefinite and hopefully permanent sabbatical. Do I hafta keep going with this?”
“What did you do?” Alan paused there, one hand wrapped around Ira’s jaw, their noses only centimeters apart.
Ira grinned and the cut in her upper lip split, blood beading against her skin. It wasn’t a nice smile. “I told him some very nasty things because I’m a nasty person and also have a generational tendency towards creative violence.”
“You’re adopted,” Alan told her, pressing his thumb to the cut. Ira licked him, because she was a filthy degenerate whose depravity knew no bounds.
“It’s a learned tendency.” Ira leaned forward, just an inch, and thumped her forehead against his. “He’ll never hurt you again.”
“You can’t keep doing this.”
“Says who?”
“I just said it.” Alan wiped hands, and then Ira’s lip. Her hair was impossibly soft when he curled his fingers into it and tugged, testing. Ira just turned her head to poke his cheek with her crooked nose, warm breath puffing against the vulnerable spot below his ear.
“I’ve never listened to you in my life and I’m not about to start now. Thanks for the care, doc. Will I live?”
“Forever and ever,” Alan told her, cradling the back of her head.
