Angel arranco la seccion del beisbol, explicando lo que la liga de beisbol coreana implementara en su temporada del 2020. Murio Steve Dalkowski que tenia el record del lanzamiento mas rapido a 110 millas por hora. La MLB sigue en su intencion de lanzar su temporada con diferentes ajustes ( 100 juegos o temporada de 60 dias ). Finalizo, con los ganadores de los Cy Young de los 90s. Roberto al final hizo su pregunta semanal.
Ivan dio una catedra del pool o billar, tal cual nos viene acostumbrando semana tras semana.
Roberto en la seccion de la NFL platico del mexicano Isaac Alarcon, que fue seleccionado para jugar con Dallas Cowboys esta temporada, proveniente del International Player Pathway. Cd. Juárez, Chih., a 22 de junio de 2018.-Esta tarde se llevó a cabo la primera reunión con medallistas de la Olimpiada Nacional y Nacional Juvenil 2018, reconociendo a los deportistas juarenses que otorgaron preseas al estado durante las pasadas justas deportivas.
En dicha celebración se contó con la presencia del gobernador del Estado, Javier Corral Jurado, acompañado por Judith Soto, subsecretaria de Educación y Deporte; Juan Pedro Santa Rosa González, director del Instituto Chihuahuense del Deporte y Cultura Física (ICHD); en representación de los atletas estuvo Laura Alejandra Ovalle, medallista de oro en la disciplina de Tae Kwon Do y el velocista Martín Loera Trujillo multimedallista de Atletismo.
Los atletas originarios de Ciudad Juárez, lograron en Olimpiada Nacional 5 medallas de oro, 7 de plata y 9 de bronce, mientras que en el Nacional Juvenil, los fronterizos aportaron al estado 4 medallas de oro, 2 de plata y 3 de bronce.
Las medallas obtenidas fueron en las disciplinas de Tae Kwon Do, Handball, Judo, Box y Natación.
En su mensaje, el titular del ICHD, comentó: “agradezco la presencia de los entrenadores quienes con su capacidad lograron desarrollar el talento de nuestros atletas, a los presidentes de Asociación; les envió el saludo a los padres de familia quienes siguen siendo el principal pilar de motivación del deportista; gracias a los medios de comunicación quienes con su crónica plasmaron los logros obtenidos por quienes pusieron en alto el nombre del Estado de Chihuahua”.
“Jóvenes atletas, hoy reciben el reconocimiento por parte del Gobierno del Estado por haber portado y defendido con orgullo los colores de Chihuahua en cada competencia, convirtieron esta oportunidad en una nueva experiencia alcanzando sus metas”, agregó.
Finalizó agradeciendo al gobernador por el apoyo y señaló: “este evento nos dejó muchas hazañas que contar, pero, sobre todo la satisfacción de haber dado nuestro máximo esfuerzo, estoy seguro que como ésta muchas historias más están por escribirse, felicidades jóvenes y enhorabuena”.
Por su parte, Martín Alejandro Loera Trujillo, ganador de medallas de oro en Atletismo dijo: “aprovecho esta oportunidad para agradecer a mi familia, a todos los que me han apoyado, al Instituto Chihuahuense del Deporte, por el esfuerzo que hacen para apoyarnos, este año recibimos los mejores uniformes. Es un orgullo poder representar a mis compañeros y agradecer por su confianza, a nosotros nos toca seguir entrenando para cumplir nuestros objetivos y sueños para poner en alto el nombre de Chihuahua y de México. No hagamos caso de las críticas, hay que levantarnos y ver cada día como una oportunidad, porque cada quien llega hasta donde quiere”.
En la ceremonia se hizo entrega al gobernador del estado de los trofeos obtenidos por puntos, donde sobresalió Chihuahua en su participación, como Softbol, Atletismo, Boxeo, Básquetbol, Racquetbol y Tae Kwon Do, destacando que Chihuahua hasta el momento se encuentra posicionado en el lugar 13 general.
En su intervención, el mandatario estatal comentó: “me llena de orgullo y entusiasmo estar aquí en esta comida de reconocimiento y de agradecimiento a todas y todos ustedes que participaron en primera línea en esta Olimpiada Nacional 2018, es un honor porque hay tanto talento juvenil que nos ha dado una verdadera lección de amor y pasión por el deporte, de esfuerzo, disciplina y perseverancia”.
“Quiero felicitar a Juan Pedro Santa Rosa, quien puso en la idea, el plan para que Chihuahua volviera a ser la sede de la Olimpiada Nacional, su entusiasmo, talento y una muy buena organización por parte de su equipo de trabajo; por toda la organización, por lo que efectivamente hemos recibido muy buenos comentarios de distintas parte del país, por la anfitrionía, hospitalidad, el cuidado en cada detalle, como lo fue que cada uno de los deportistas y entrenadores, tuvieran un uniforme de calidad, porque es lo que genera el orgullo en la representación, se hizo un gran esfuerzo”.
“Qué bueno que fue un éxito la Olimpiada Nacional, no sólo en organización, sino en la participación de nuestros atletas que mejoraron del 2017 donde se lograron 27 medallas, a este 2018 que suman 71 medallas para el estado de Chihuahua”.
“Nuestro reconocimiento a los atletas, que estas preseas son fruto de la disciplina, dedicación, vale la pena sacrificar la diversión y tiempos de ocio, y cambiarlos por un proceso de entrenamiento riguroso; nada se alcanza por casualidad, el éxito es un proceso de construcción de pequeñas cosas que se logran en base a la disciplina, trabajo y esfuerzo, todo encaminado por sus entrenadores, a través del respeto y cariño”.
“Es un orgullo para Chihuahua contar con ustedes, dignos y dignas representantes de la nobleza y lealtad que representa a los chihuahuenses, porque el deporte tiene el poder de cambiar al mundo, de inspirar y de unir a la gente; reiterándoles que para nuestro Gobierno es una prioridad la promoción y el apoyo al deporte. Los exhorto a que sigan adelante en este maravilloso camino deportivo, poniendo su esfuerzo y voluntad para seguir siendo los mejores”, concluyó.

The inter-bank Foreign Exchange market has received the sum of $210million from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to meet customers’ requests in various segments of the market.
In its determination to meet the customers’ needs in the sundry segments of the market, the CBN offered $100million to authorized dealers in the wholesale segment of the market, while the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) segment got the sum of $55 million, according to figures obtained from the Bank on Monday, February 12 2018.
The figures also indicated that customers needing foreign exchange for invisibles such as tuition fees, medical payments and Basic Travel Allowance (BTA), among others, were also allocated the sum of $55 million.
The Banks Acting Director, Corporate Communications Department (CCD), Mr. Isaac Okorafor, assured Nigerians that the Bank will continue to intervene in the interbank foreign exchange market, in line with its pledge to sustain liquidity in the market and maintain stability. According to Mr. Okorafor, the CBN will not renege on its promise to manage the forex with a view to reducing the countrys import bills and halting depletion of its foreign reserves.
It will be recalled that last Friday, February 9, 2018, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had again intervened in the Retail Secondary Market Intervention Sales (SMIS) to the tune of $325.64 million to cater for requests in the airlines, agricultural, petroleum products and raw materials and machinery sectors.
Meanwhile, the naira continued its stability in the FOREX market, exchanging at an average of N361/$1 in the BDC segment of the market on Monday, February 12, 2018.
Osinbajo lauds investors’ job opportunities as Nestle opens new factory
Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, says multinational companies would create more job opportunities for Nigerians by sustaining investments in the country’s economy.
Mr. Osinbajo made the call in Agbara, Ogun state, while inaugurating Nestle Nigeria’s Milo Ready -to- Drink beverage production plant.
The plant, which costs N4.1 billion, is said to be the first of its kind in Nigeria.
The new plant, commissioned on Thursday, is part of the company’s existing Agbara factory, which has been operating for 37 years.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Osinbajo said that if companies make sufficient investments in Nigeria, such investments can create millions of jobs in 2018 and reduce the crime rate in the country.
“I urge other manufacturing firms to emulate Nestle and domicile their investment opportunities in Nigeria as that is the only way they can help the federal government achieve its effective growth in job creation,” he said.
“The new plant, I believe, is a significant step not just for Nestle, but for the Ogun State Government . This will keep the economy on sustainable growth . It will bring about reforms and the ease of doing business .”
Mr. Osinbajo also attributed the new Nestle plant to the continued confidence the industry has in the growth and potentials of the Nigerian economy.
He maintained that the project will create 150,000 direct jobs in addition to local sourcing.
He said, “We are grateful to Nestlé for these significant investments , particularly for locating its factories in rural communities and sourcing its raw materials from local farmers, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of Nigeria.”
In his remarks, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Nestle Nigeria, Mauricio Alarcon, noted that the new Nestlé Milo RTD is complementing the existing range of offerings of our iconic Milo brand.
“It is conveniently packaged to offer the unique Milo taste and meet the nutrition needs of active children on the go. This is in line with the company’s commitments to enable healthier and happier lives,” he said.
“This new production plant is a true reflection of how Nestlé creates shared value for all by providing good jobs , sourcing 80 per cent of our inputs from local farmers and investing in the development of rural communities .”
Meanwhile, the deputy governor of Ogun State, Yetunde Onanuga, promised that the state will continue to create an enabking environment for businesses and industries to thrive in the state.
Mrs. Onanuga, who represented Governor Ibikunle Amosun, also hinted that initiatives like the Nestle investment would add value to the economy of the state.

The fall releases for Vogue Patterns are here! It definitely seems like a transitional season for trends, as there are much subdued silhouettes for sleeves, a lack of ruffles, and a trend towards sleeker, straighter, and bolder lines. While I’m happy to have options that aren’t drowning in ruffles, I have to say that there aren’t a ton of styles I’m loving here for myself. I am, however, really excited to see what some of the more prolific sewing bloggers produce, as I think there are some really iconic and stand-out styles in this release. Let’s take a look:
V1559 – Guy Laroche. I love the juxtaposition of the classic fitted sheath dress with the casual denim shirtdress vibe. This is one I’m really torn about from a personal perspective though. There are a lot of things I really like about this dress, but I don’t know if I could see myself wearing it. I’m not sure it needs to join my pattern stash, but I do love the design, and I’m really excited to see other bloggers make their own versions.
V1561 – Zandra Rhodes. Swing coats are another style that I’m not overly excited by, but I do love the curved lines around the yoke area. Very pretty.
V1562 – Lialia by Julia Alarcon. This jacket has a lot of great classic detail included in the design. Also love the vaguely 1920’s silhouette. Once again, it is a pattern I really like, but I’m not sure it is the best for me – I feel like I have many similar/better options already, but I do think it would be an amazing tailoring project for someone who would look great in these straighter lines.
V1563 – Rachel Comey. Another jacket pattern with lots of detail. The color blocking looks great, and I love how the classic silhouette blends with the more modern use of fabrics, and the extremely fitted cuffs should make this a really warm jacket to wear (with a scarf and turtleneck anyway).
V1558 – Rachel Comey. Love this dress! Simple lines and soft pleating detail would look fabulous in a solid or a print fabric. This is at the top of my “must buy” list from this release.
V1556 – Rachel Comey. I also find this to be a really interesting design. By all accounts the wide belt/obi look was super popular on fall runways, so I expect this will fall squarely in the “on trend” category. Another look I’m personally conflicted by – I love all the interesting detail, but I really don’t see myself wearing it.
V1555 – Tom and Linda Platt. I’m always a sucker for a good color block, and I particularly like that the lines are echoed on the front and back of this dress.
V1553 – Koos van den Akker. Very cute with lots of trim details. Another look that will be a pass for me, but could definitely look very cute on the right person.
V1554 – Isaac Mizrahi. It’s a pretty simple pleated dress, but I like it. The insertion of sheer lace into the hem design is quite an interesting idea as well. Simple, but I like it. I can’t help but imagine this dress paired with a cropped moto jacket, though in a different fabrication it would be perfect for a spring wedding. I love how fabric choice and styling make this design incredibly versatile.
V1560 – Anne Klein. Very classic trouser with boxy jacket.
V1564 – Today’s Fit by Sandra Betzina. I like this – the hood looks like a really interesting design, as it is part of the front of the coat, not a separate seam. It looks really cozy for a rainy day, and simple lines make it easy to sew on technical waterproof fabrics.
V1552 – Today’s Fit by Sandra Betzina. Personally I’m not one who likes to add volume to the hips, but the model photo is a bit more flattering than I’d expect based on the line drawing. Fabric drape is going to be critical to sewing this pattern successfully.
V9264 – Very Easy Vogue. Crushed velvet, drab florals, and puffy sleeves. It really does make me think of a skating dress from the late 1980s. I may have previously made myself clear about how unexcited I am by these trends, but I’ll reiterate here. Not excited. I will say, however, that Vogue did make the maxi floral gown come close to looking elegant. Still not on my wishlist, but I am somewhat impressed.
V9265 – Very Easy Vogue/Custom Fit. One of the few fall designs that continues the voluminous sleeve trend. I’m a bit more excited by this than the previous style, but it is a fairly basic princess seam bodice and skirt combo.
V9267 – Vogue Easy Options/Custom Fit. I know this is very similar to many previous Vogue Easy Options styles, but I really like it! The custom cup sizing is a great selling point, especially on a bodice with so many darts and seams.
V9266 – Very Easy Vogue. I was wondering when the copycat patterns would start to arrive. On the one hand I do like this design. On the other hand, I have no desire to be visually associated with the administration that this represents. Pass.
V9269 – Julio Cesar NYC. Cute shirt dress, though perhaps a bit short for me. Nice way to mix prints and solids to create a top/skirt look.
V9271 – Julio Cesar NYC. Looks like some interesting detailing on this top, though I’m never one to go for such a boxy silhouette.
V9275 – Vogue Wardrobe. I find the styling a bit odd, but this has some nice casual pieces. Definitely not something I would think of as being work appropriate, though Vogue seems to have styled it that way?
V9268 – Kathryn Brenne. I wanted to dismiss this immediately as being boring, but the more I look at this dress, the more I’m intrigued by the softly draping skirt. Similar to the Today’s Fit style, but a bit more wearable perhaps? It looks like a bit of a fabric hog, but should be pretty simple to sew together. Perhaps this one will make it onto my sale day shopping list?
V9272 – Marcy Tilton. I think this is a great addition to the Marcy Tilton line – it definitely fits her aesthetic, but I think this is a top that will appeal to those who don’t typically buy her patterns. Looks like a fun, comfortable top for fall.
V9273 – Very Easy Vogue. I’ve been thinking about making a vest, though these styles seem a bit too square and masculine for my personal taste. Looks like the boxy 80s tailoring is making a comeback.
V9270 – Very Easy Vogue. Another style that has a slight nod to the excessive sleeves of the spring and summer months, though much toned down for fall.
V9274 – Very Easy Vogue. The asymmetric coat is pretty interesting. Not much to say about the elastic waist pants.
V9276 – Tafa Vogue Accessories. Cute options for fancy gown cover-ups.
And that’s it! On the whole I’m seeing trends towards boxier styles and more masculine tailoring and silhouettes, almost as a rebuttal to the overly flowy and ruffly looks of the summer. My favorite looks are actually some of the simplest pieces, without any of the heavy 80s influence. Though this may have something to do with the obsessive reading research I have been doing on style types (more on this in an upcoming post) and thinking I’ve been doing about how this will impact my wardrobe planning. Regardless, I think this is a strong release from Vogue. I don’t find that there are a lot of things I want to make and wear, but I do think that there are quite a few strong looks from this collection that I could see certain sewing bloggers going nuts over.
