Headcanon:

You know how A.B.A's official profile mentions she hates wasteful humans and likes treasuring things she feels it'd be a waste to throw away?

Imagine a scene with the character of your choice, in which they either throw away something and A.B.A makes a fuss out of it and shuns the other character for being a wasteful human (or that they're picking up bad human habits, if they're not human) or instead that the character sees A.B.A pick up an item that an unknown party has thrown away and she's acting in an upset manner, again mentioning her abhorrence of said wasteful humans. The character questions why she even feels THAT weirdly strongly about the topic .

After a back and forth, A.B.A scowls defeatedly, holding the discarded item very closely, and says:

"Humans are wasteful, they even throw away things they made by themselves! ...And maybe, if they didn't do that, my creator wouldn't have abandoned me."

Here we have two options. Either she somehow does not know the military took him away and believes he abandoned her, again, just like other humans once they get tired of their things, OR she knows it wasn't an intentional abandonment but.. She still can't take off that lingering feeling. What if he's okay and didn't care enough to find her again? What if he is not okay (or isn't alive anymore) and she's being callous but the thought keeps lingering in her mind?

Whatever the case, objects being discarded, left alone, when they could still work really irks her. You could say she feels empathy for them.

There needs to be a scientific study done on how Rockstar Games' Arthur Morgan is able to provoke the most earth shattering emotions I didn't even know I had in me

idk man but i think theres such a connection between will being possessed in s2 and like 'what happens when my boy is gone' and will giving the painting to mike under el's name. just like... will being replaced and then replacing himself. and like his entire person was being replaced by the mf, but also everything that he said was from el with the painting and speech was intrinsically his and his alone. and how his arc since s1 has been about hiding but also being right there. and how its all tied to his queerness. and how ideally in s5 this should lead to will not hiding/moving on from his identity and his feelings, but instead embracing them.

The soundtrack to this game is absolutely phenomenal btw

#*spoilers in tags lol*#the track that plays during the scenes where Vincent is chasing Rody around and trying to kill him is so good bc—#it genuinely made me feel on edge and agitated. like I almost felt the need to forward through the dialogue simply bc the music made me—#feel so rushed and stressed. and that’s so cool! it’s so cool that a piece of music tied to a storyline can make the viewer feel so strongly #I am very passionate about this if you couldn’t tell #music and video games are two of my favorite things ever #so the way the two can fit together interests me greatly. whenever I play games one of the first things I look towards is the soundtrack #and dead plate has a phenomenal ost! I kept thinking abt it as I played the game lol #also the tracks that play during the dream sequences are very unnerving which fits the theme perfectly #ahhh okay! if you read this far thanks for listening to my ramblings lol #dead plate

a month ago i said i would yell about misogyny and patriarchal themes in fanfiction and eventually i will but there are so many thoughts and feelings in my head that it will take me forever to type it down. But i will say this

Be critical of the things you read. i’m not saying you CANT read for enjoyment—you CAN and SHOULD read for fun. But i’m saying that sometimes you should take notice of the themes in writing and think “wow, i wonder why that’s written like that. Is this harmful or is this helpful?”

it’s a given that fanfiction is widely heteronormative because society and media blah blah blah We know all of this … but in my opinion i think it’s important to think about why women in hetero fics are portrayed the way they are sometimes. I think reader insert fics have gone a long way in being more inclusive and less harmful than they were years ago BUT. Do not let that stop you from recognizing themes in the works you read right now

like; Why are misogyny-affected people written a certain way?? Why are there often degrading themes in a lot of tropes and fics regarding women?? Why are there certain roles that misogyny affected people are expected to fulfill even in fiction?? why are women often the “default” for fics with male characters?? think about any of these questions for like longer than two minutes, read a bad fic, and you will probably see where i’m coming from

#this might be mindless nonsense #but i hope whoever is reading this can see where im coming from #there are a lot of harmful tropes in fanfiction #even those without a feminine leaning reader #and i think it's importnat to read for enjoyment while also thinking about the underlying meaning in writing #Everything is written the WAY it is written for a reason #whether the author realizes it or not #whether YOU as a reader realize it or not #i think very strongly of this #there’s a video i watched that re-ignited a lot of strong feelings for me about this #'booktok brainrot and why its okay to be a hater' by alisha not alihsha #very good points and that video mainly talks about like actual PUBLISHED books but that still very much applies to fics #all writing is important #i may maybe delete this later sigh #i really hope i do not come off as some elitist writer #the point is. read and write for fun. but sometimes its important to take the time to think about why things are the way they are #and if what youre writing/reading contributes or takes away from the harm #nora speaks

hc that willscam wasn't made with hermie's memories. so when he asked who hermie was it was genuine because he would have no idea who that would be.

but he was made with the idea of hermie.

so he has this vague, fluttering ache, this groundless attraction. has the stage directions and nothing else. and everyone else has the script, sees the one he's understudying and all the ways he doesn't add up. he's pulled on in the final act and he's never seen the play before

so he has to know. they're in heaven, so he wishes that he did.

and then he knows. it's not quite like becoming hermie, not like hermie being reborn into a new body-- it's like a parent telling you a story of something impressive you did when you were younger that you had forgotten. it doesn't really change anything about you, but now you've incorporated it into your memory.

so now he has context.

now he knows the nameless shadow, the ultimate goal, the boy that died among friends but died yearning and alone nonetheless. he knows every stray thought, every mindless interaction, every rejection, every act and reality.

and he sees that boy and he understands him. feels his brightness and his bitterness and his love. (sees that what he was given when created pales in comparison.) he mourns for that boy and what he could have had and what he did and vows to carry that with him from then on.

and when he was brought back from the dead and got the chance that hermie never could, it solidifies.

they're not the same person, but he vows to carry the legacy that had once been forced upon him. vows to be more and have more than hermie was ever thought to. because they both deserve it.

I remember back when The Mountain Goats No Children was a meme on here seeing a post that went “I hope you live, i hope we both live,” and it making me SO angry…

And this was before I had ever even listened to the song (or anything by TMG for that matter), but now, knowing that John wrote the song, and specifically the line “I hope you die, I hope we both die” in response to radio overplay of the sugary sweet I Hope You Dance, I feel even more vindicated, because like.

Yes. Ultimately my overall life philosophy is that I hope we all live… I would hope that goes without saying. But No Children isn’t a life philosophy. It’s about how sometimes everything sucks and you feel like shit and trapped and hopeless and angry and I HOPE YOU DIE, I HOPE WE BOTH DIE!!!!!!!!! And who can’t relate to that? Who has NEVER felt like that in their lives??????

I feel a little silly accusing what was ultimately just a joke meme post of Toxic Positivity, but that was the vibe I was getting from it, which is why it made me mad. As though it was sticking up its nose at a song it clearly had no understanding of and going “well I hope we both LIVE 😇😇” and like. Fuck you lol. It’s okay to feel negative emotions. It’s okay to be angry.

HEY FISH im curious what do you think about mcga loki. like as a character and loki adaptation

oh my god im so late to responding to this lmao i did not get anotifcation for this but ANYWAY

character wise i like him for what he is ! obviously hes the very common evil loki wants to start ragnarok antagonist but i think his scenes (visions?) with magnus are all very interesting and he's just entertaining to read/watch lol I haven't finished the third book yet so i'm still very curious to exactly what happened with randolph and his plan to foil loki's plans.

as for loki adaptation, he's very entertaining but i don't tend to gravitate towards portrayals of them that make them extra evil and malicious. i do like that iirc the grief and pain the aesir put him through was mentioned but it doesn't seem to be touched upon too much after the first(?) book. i def get a diff vibe from him compared to myth!loki and he just generally seems more malicious than them lol but overall i can appreciate mcga!loki for what he was meant to achieve ^_^ (also i just like him for being like the one other god thats meant to be taken seriously lol)

I'm so emotionally exhausted

#being highly empathetic is so romanticized but it actually sucks so much #not just for me btw. like for everyone around me too #im great at supporting people short term but anytime you need me to reliably be there i just cant #because i feel so strongly anytime im around other people experiencing strong emotions that i burn through my emotional battery #in a matter of minutes #its also almost definitely a result of my trauma. so yeah definitely over-hyped #PLUS i hate being that person thats like 'sorry YOUR emotions are too painful for ME' like wtf #makes me sound like an ass #i think it cam definitely be phrased better while still saying the same thing (like 'sorry i dont really have the energy now. is that okay?)#but it still sucks. i want to be there for people. i dont know what to do with all these emotions that arent mine #like theres always 'work through the trauma' but how?? im emotionally exhausted!#plus i dont actually see any way to reassure what im scared about cause its not like a fear of being punished triggered by others emotions #its like.
