Okay this is some bullshit so let’s talk about it.
(DISCLAIMER: Twitter is not the space to go to for fully formed thoughts. Jay might have a much better point than this, but I think this tweet is still a good starting point for an important discussion)
15 is not more emotionally sensitive than other Doctors. What he is, is not as afraid to show that sensitivity. If you think other doctors would not be emotionally affected by the things 15 has been affected by, I don’t know what to tell you. They would be, but what they might not do is openly cry.
Now, there is a valid argument that this is a result of the short episode count—that there have been very few fun adventures where The Doctor can just do what they love to do. Every episode has to be BIG and MEANINGFUL and EMOTIONAL because to do otherwise is to risk wasting time you may need for those big moments.
What the problem is NOT, however, is The Doctor crying a lot. I don’t think it should be disregarded that people are finding very specifically a black man crying “the wrong direction to take the character”
That needs to be taken in the context of black men being particularly stuffed into the expectations of toxic masculinity. Black men are expected to be more tough, more violent, more aggressive, and less emotional, less sensitive, less open than white men.
What’s also interesting to me here is the context of how unobtrusive 15’s crying is, but even that is too much apparently?
Jay Exci appears to think The Doctor should no longer be affected by things to this extent, at least not this often—but the story with 14 was explicitly that The Doctor never let themselves FEEL their pain, not that they didn’t experience it.
The Doctor feels deeply, constantly, for everything and everyone. That’s who they are. Every incarnation of them. The moments they choose to ignore that are when The Doctor fails to uphold the promise of their name.
If you don’t think that would result in a lot of crying, pal I got news for you.

Jay Exci trying to defend attacking Chibnall in replying to a DW Twitter post on his birthday. They really are a nasty piece of work. It shows further that years ago they had made their whole online persona about hating on him. And when called out for it their response just gets weird. They even deleted the post that started this off, which is very telling.
