Society has grown past the need for character returns used to develop the new cast, we either need more episodes about the character themselves or just them reconnecting with their old friend.
A hope for JN112. More of the bean man, even if it’s just a cameo. (Like, at least showing Faba’s and Wicke’s reactions to seeing Mohn again.)
Just some of my fave moments. (The scene where he’s cheering on Lillie and Gladion with glowsticks, and Gladion looks like he could throttle him, is my favorite.)
The Ride Pokémon for the Ultra Guardians are actually Mohn's old Pokémon, and he was actually a decent battler during his youth and the reason the Ride Pokémon were used to fight Ultra Beasts was to honor their lost trainer (yes, Mohn did have a tearful reunion when they reunited in JN112).
So, that would make Mohn's current team: Zoroark, Garchomp, Dragonair, Altaria, Metang, Flygon, and Lily the Nihilego.
I kept rewatching the last few episodes of Pokemon Sun & Moon and every time, without fail, I have flashbacks of Lucario & the Mystery of Mew when Ash first met Kukui's Lucario.
So my angst-generating brain went:
"Ash paused, almost whispering the name of the Pokémon before him. He knows they're not the same, but a part of him wish that he was still by their side. If only Ash was stronger back then. Nevertheless, the only thing he can do is protect these people, live, and achieve his dream so that one day Ash can face Sir Aaron's Lucario with a proud smile and say: I did it."
Or even in Kapu Rehire's (Tapu Fini's) Mist, I feel like I was cutting onions whenever I imagine Ash meeting Sir Aaron's Lucario.
I even imagined a scene after Ash got his own Riolu that evolved into Lucario, and they succeed in bond phenomenon (which I squealed over on for more than a day). Especially, when Ash said to Lucario: "Let's go see him!"
If I didn't know that it was Greninja, and even if I did, a scenario involving Tapu Fini's Mist is what my brain conjured. Placing around JN112:
"Ash sailed to Poni Island with Pikachu and Lucario. They encountered Tapu Fini's Mist and there, emerged another Lucario. Ash got teary-eyed and placed a shoulder on his Lucario with a smile.
Before the Masters 8 match begins, there has always been one individual that Ash held close to heart, and hence, wanted to make them proud.
You've done well, they said. It was more than Ash could ever ask for. The Tree of Beginning will always leave heavy memories in Ash, but he'll never trade it for anything. Not when it was the only memory he had of Sir Aaron's Lucario.
The Lucario looked at Ash then to the other Lucario and said as he disappears with the mist: Don't lose each other."
KIBI WAKE THE FUCK UP WE'RE GETTING AN AETHER FAMILY MOHN EPISODE AND 2 ALOLA EPISODES SOON JN111 (May 20) "Mohn and Lillie, A Snowfield Reunion!" JN112 (May 27) "Triumphant Return! The Alola Champion!"
