Put your hands in the air if you're looking forward to seeing Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible in Wicked next year (currently scheduled for November 2024). Really hope this movie delivers. I know Michelle Yeoh will.

Overall the trailer looks good and I'm looking forward to it but a couple grumbles:
The score was jarring and didn't flow very well and didn't stir up any emotion or excitement.
Once again, we're pretending it's not a musical.
Ariana's hair colour and make-up did not look flattering on her. It made her look mostly ghostly and sharp than bubbly and ethereal.
The colours were kinda desaturated and the shots very visually busy which fits Chu's usual style but I was hoping for more of a La La Land or Barbie aesthetic. Strong crisp and simple shots and vibrant colours. More sound stage musical vibe than CGI fantasy movie. Let it be camp and sassy and silly and sparkly.
On a funny note, Cynthia and Jonathan are clearly not young adult Shiz student age people and I find it hilarious. The shot from the lion scar scene = CLEARLY A GROWN MAN. HELLO FELLOW YOUTHS.
I hope the opening Glinda bubble scene is a closeup not a long shot. I need the pain.

People on the tweety complaining about the teaser pics of Wicked being too dark need to chill. Teasers like these often aren’t part of the films themselves; they’re literally just abstracts. Remember the Cinderella (2015) teaser with just the glass slipper? Not to mention, the director, Jon M. Chu, also did Now You See Me 2, Crazy Rich Asians, and In The Heights, all really colorful spectacles. WE’RE IN GOOD HANDS.
