JJ comes from old money, like Steve Harrington. Their parents are long-time friends, and their law firms often work together.

She has resented her economic status and the attitude it breeds since she was born, and she spends a lot of her time rebelling against her parents' world and wishes in order to treat people right and lead a life prioritizing things that truly matter -- the people she loves and her impact on the community around her.

She's a painter who loves punk and metal music, has a fiery mouth on her, and she's not afraid to get her hands dirty -- she'll try anything once.

So far, she has only appeared in my holiday mini series, but you should expect to see more of her interacting with her lover, Billy Hargrove, and a multitude of friends, including Nancy Wheeler, Robin Buckley, and Eddie Munson, to name a few. ^^ I'm still kind of developing more of her character, so that's about as much as I know for now. 😅

Just wanted to say; if you genuinely believe Gir is a child and wanna comment to tell me this is wrong, just don’t.😭 Seriously, he’s an ageless robot who doesn’t even act like a child at all, he just acts like someone with undiagnosed + unmedicated ADHD. Okay ty.

[Before they date]

Mel being… well, Mel, takes a while to feel any kind of spark of friendship when she first meets Gir, she’s almost immediately aware he’s not a threat so she won’t be harsh with the robot. Gir on the other hand, immediately got attached and has had the biggest fuckin crush on Mel since they first met lol

Mel develops an attachment to Gir faster than any other friend she’s made, this is confusing for Mel. Why is Gir different? What is it about him that’s so special?

Mel starts to talk about Gir A LOT to Joz to the point she starts to believe that the two are dating, sayin stuff like “You two dating?” Mel just replies with a simple “no.”

Joz still teases Mel about this whenever they brings up Gir; “Gothyyyy, do you have a little crush~?”

When Mel actually does start to develop a crush, she’s once again very confused with herself. “But… I don’t get crushes. I NEVER get crushes.” Again, what makes Gir so different?

She starts to observe Gir a little more when they see each other to figure why she has developed a crush on him. She over analyzes everything about him;

the way he’s always loyal to Zim, the way he shows Mel how much he cares about her, always being there for her, cheering her up in any way he can, remembering the smallest details about her…

…maybe it’s how he’s a complete opposite to her. Is the contrast in personalities alluring? That’s a possibility.

Some time passed and Mel slowly starts to realize that it isn’t anything in particular about Gir, they just like him.

Mel plans the way it would confess to Gir, it thinks about this for DAYS, WEEKS even, until it can come up with a solid way to tell Gir.

She brings him into her backyard garden, sits next to him on the bench swing, and confesses.

“Gir, I love you. I understand if you think I’m weird or if you wanna get away from me because we’re different species-“

Until Gir interrupts; “I LOVE YOU TOOOO, GOTHYYYY!!!” and he pulls them into a tight hug.

They proceed sit along side each other and cuddle for a while.

[OKAY!!! When they start dating!!]

Mel’s pet names for Gir include: Sweetie, love, my love, puppy, honey [she’s basic, I know…]

Mel and Gir giggle a lot when they’re cuddling or kissing

Mel can actually teach Zim a thing or two about making Gir actually listen to him;

“Just be more gentle with him, you don’t need to scream at him.”

Gir quickly realizes that Mel is VERY easily startled, so he makes sure he doesn’t hug them too suddenly and tries his best to make his movements in general less sudden

Gir starts to learn Mel’s safe foods/drinks and gives them to her when she’s sad or frustrated

Sometimes there are days where Mel LITERALLY CANNOT get out of bed, whenever this happens, Gir snuggles up with them under the blankets, silently comforting them.

Gir almost always wants attention from Mel, just any kind of it is fine, even a simple hand hold is okay with Gir, just as long as he has their attention.

Sometimes Gir will pretend to fall asleep in the weirdest places just so he can be picked up and carried to bed by Mel.

If Gir is wearing his dog costume, his tail starts to wag whenever he does as much as THINK about Mel.

Gir likes to drag Mel back to Zim’s base when Mel’s having a hard time with its mom [which is… not a rare occasion…]

Zim doesn’t really like this and has kicked Mel out before, they just keep coming back to the point where Zim grows a tolerance for Mel [ig you could argue that he tolerates her due to the shared hatred for humanity]

Mel draws pictures of Gir at least once every week.

Gir starts to get really attached to Lily too, petting her any time she lays next to him, happily giggling when he hears her purrs, Mel loves to see Gir getting along with their cat and she thinks the attachment Gir has for Lily is adorable.

A protracted rant about how Film Reroll's Fifth Element campaign caused me to fear the future before it even went live.

Knowing for a couple weeks via the Patreon that the next campaign was going to be The Fifth Element, I didn't know what to expect, due to not watching the movie.

Having actually watching it last week, that caused me to become convinced that this was going to be a one-episode campaign. That isn't to say I was making an insult. That was me basically going "Oh dear God, they are fucked."

A lot of the fucking plot of the movie was stitched together by the whims of chance (for example, not only does a plot-important character only survives jumping out of a building due to a taxi cab managing to pass by then and there, but the main villain only barely misses crossing paths with Bruce Willis during the climax), and that being translated into a TTRPG does not bode well for a podcast notorious for bad rolls at bad times; they even fucking acknowledge this during the intro to the first episode.

Hell, I was of two major avenues of thought as I waited for the first episode to finally get published: Ether they never leave 1914, or they somehow find a way to get Bruce Willis killed off during the first (or only) episode. I admit, part of the latter was built upon me trying to guess who would play Bruce Willis, then abruptly remembering both the talked-about-but-unpublished Die Hard campaign (where John McClaine died), and TMNT II (where Kara and Paulo basically recreated that campaign via Raphael fighting the terrorists at the bank, only to get shot to shit, and then get killed in Part 5) and just automatically going "If Kara is cast as Bruce Willis, that is an immediate sign, oh no..."

This goes a long way for me to say the following:

When Billy tried to slide tackle the aliens carrying away the five elements during the prologue, and Joz Crit Failed the roll, the moment Paulo announced that caused a domino chain of falling aliens, and that Joz might have fucked up the future, even though it turned out they barely lucked out in avoiding it, I felt a cold chill pass over my body, and fully expected that to be the sum of all of my fears coming true then and there, that they were about to swiftly pivot into 1914's answer to Independence Day.

Granted, things were smooth sailing after that fuck-up (even better than the movie; Leeloo didn't escape, and the military was made aware of the situation from the jump), but still, just like everyone else did during that scene, my heart sank to the bottom of my stomach.

We are one episode in.

This campaign is going to be rough for a guy like me...

2: What scene did you first put down? Honestly, that one was written from start to finish with minimal planning, so the first scene was the first chapter. I actually never planned for it to go further than that, but someone requested a part two, and it just kept going until I was like -- okay, I'm going to let people fuck him after all that buildup, it would be cruel to deny us that lmao.

5: What part was the hardest to write? There are two answers to this: the first hardest part was the intro to the smut, so the oral scene, just because I wasn't (and I'm still not really) used to writing smut, but the rest came naturally (wink wink). And the second hardest part was the ending because I always get so excited to post my fics and chapters that I think I kind of rush the endings, and it didn't totally close off, but I think it's a good learning experience for next time!

11: What do you like best about this fic? I think my favorite part is just Billy being Billy. Originally, it was supposed to be more of a subby Billy, but I couldn't resist him maintaining his cunty vibes because that's really something I love about him that makes him interesting to write -- plus the tension that created with the reader was just *chef's kiss* to me, idek.

You've always been my horror movie buddy and I always love watching movies with you. We don't get as many chances now, because our work schedules are so different, but it's always fun when we get to! JOZ! MY BELOVED!!! first of all, happy pride month!!! 🏳️‍🌈🎉🏳️‍🌈🎉🏳️‍🌈🎉🏳️‍🌈🎉🏳️‍🌈 second of all! I do the SAME EXACT THING with my writing! I go long periods of time when i can't write because of brain issues, and i just feel... miserable. BUT! It doesn't make sense!!! And i have a few nice commenters that come in and talk to me every now and then and they remind me that it's okay to take time away. The people who matter will be there when you come back, waiting to be supportive of whatever you put out into the world! Our brains are just dumb and think we're huge disappointments when we stop constantly putting out writing!!! I'm not sure i was going anywhere with this but i just wanna say i love you and you are not alone!!!! And it'll be okay! And like that anon said! Writing is supposed to be fun!!!
