[Daddies in December] Hatake Kakashi
Happy New Year! I hope you had a fantastic holiday. I know it's technically January now but I have a few drafts still and I think I can FINALLY get them out. This is long, I just couldn't stop.
Warning: Angst, reconnection, and smut
.
“I hope you all have a wonderful holiday, thank you for taking my class. If you’re in my next class, see you next year.” Kakashi ended his last class for the semester, dismissing his students.
One by one, each of them thanked and complimented him on his class, giving him great feedback.
At last, the door to his class closed and he took a deep breath.
Reaching for his phone in his pocket, he has a few unread messages but none from Y/n.
Ever since she dropped the bomb on him about her pregnancy exactly a week ago, neither has spoken to the other.
Kakashi didn’t exactly take the news well, blurting something he shouldn’t have said and every time he thought about it, he wanted to beat himself up.
“It’s not mine.” It wasn’t a question but a statement. It couldn’t be Kakashi. One, he always wore a condom. Two, he was nearly forty-three and his doctor told him he had low sperm count!
He was not blind to the pain written on her face.
Their last encounter did not end very well.
He used this week as an excuse to get through the semester for his students; now, he must face the consequences.
Day and night, 24/7, Y/n was all he could think about.
He’ll admit that he let his anger get the best of him. He let his past trauma control and dictate his actions towards Y/n, who didn’t deserve any of it.
Kakashi could come up with a million excuses and reasons how it cannot be his child, for one, after his injury during a mission, he was told having any children was no longer an option.
But he couldn’t excuse the fact that she was a virgin when he bedded her and Y/n wasn’t one to have multiple men even if they were officially in a relationship. Their fling was exclusive for the most part. Even if Kakashi had used condoms every time they had sex and had been told he couldn’t have children… there was always a possibility…
He groaned, suddenly remembering a time when they had both just come. Still in a daze of euphoria, he slipped off the filled condom. Only with Y/n, does he ever ejaculate so much. His cock was still erect, oozing with leftover cum.
Kakashi’s eyes glaze over her wet pussy that coated with her wetness.
He had only had raw sex once in his entire life when he was still young and that was the first and the last time he had done so…
But he was so tempted just to be swallowed by Y/n’s hot and tight pussy.
“Just once,” he murmured before slipping his cock, raw, inside of her. Y/n gasped at the same time he groaned, feeling the same bliss of skin on skin. “Just want to be cock-warmed by your pussy…”
Even if he had just allowed her pussy to wrap around his raw cock for a few minutes, that could have resulted in this unplanned pregnancy.
Y/n had no reason to lie to him, she wasn’t one to manipulate and trap him with a child.
He’d known her since she was twelve, he was best friends with her brother who was in the same military unit as him. Who died saving him.
.
Y/n knew she should have just left the fallen pen on the ground but her determined self wanted to be independent and pick it up.
Now, she was stuck in a crouching position, able to stand back up after successfully grabbing the pen.
Being almost eight months pregnant with twins, with only a solid four weeks left, she was large. Very large.
She gripped the edge of the table, taking deep breaths to build up the strength to stand without peeing in her underwear.
She needed help.
Her assistant Viv was out running a delivery and wouldn’t return for another ten minutes at the earliest.
“Are you okay?”
Y/n’s head snapped up, eyes meeting the father of her unborn babies. When had he entered her shop? How did she miss the bell ringing at the door? She blinked before looking away embarrassed.
“Why are you down there?” He looked over, frowning.
Taking a deep breath and setting her pride aside, “Kakashi,” she called his name sharply.
“Yes?”
She looked up at him sternly, “I need your help.”
His eyes widen in a flash of panic. “What’s wrong?”
Placing both her hands on the table, she reached out to him, “I can’t get back up, help me.”
Quickly walking around the table, he looked at her, seeing she was crouching down, “are you hurt?”
Y/n shook her head, “no, I just – I just can’t get back up, my belly is too big. Just support me and help me stand.”
Going behind her, Kakashi took her outreached hand and wrapped the other gently below her bulging belly, “slowly…” he cooed lifting her until she could straighten up. As soon as she was back on her feet again she tugged her hand away, walking away from him.
She cleared her throat, wiping her hand on her overalls. “Thank you. What are you doing here?”
Kakashi’s eyes fell on her belly, the last time he saw her was two months ago. “I…” he inhales, “I want to talk.” He noticed her body switching to defense mode, and he took a careful step towards her. “Just talk, that’s all.”
“I’m not sure there is anything to discuss, nothing needs further clarification.” Her tone struggled to stay in control. “You made it clear where you stand.”
Kakashi expected her hostile attitude and gave her a small smile, “you don’t owe me any of your time but I ask kindly, please, can we talk about the baby?”
“No.”
He exhaled softly, she was going to make this difficult for him. “Okay,” he continued to smile at her, “I’ll come back tomorrow and try again.”
She glared at him, and he knew it was meant to make him fear her, but he found her adorable. “My answer will still be no.”
“Then I’ll come back the next day.”
.
The next day, Kakashi returned, with a basket of fruits. The fruits Y/n likes.
“Can we talk?”
“No.”
“Okay, I’ll come back tomorrow.”
.
Every day Kakashi returned with a gift and would leave with a sigh and his usual phrase as soon as Y/n turned him down, “okay, I’ll come back tomorrow.”
He stopped at the door and turned around, “please at least tell me what you would like for me to bring tomorrow. I’m running out of ideas.”
Before Y/n could tell him anything, Viv answered on her behalf, “Takoyaki please!”
Y/n turned her head, giving her a silent serious look.
“Takoyaki tomorrow then,” he waved before leaving.
“Seriously?” Viv groaned, “the man is doing all that to just talk to you. Can you imagine what he would do when you give in?”
Instead of answering her, Y/n turned her heels and headed to the cooler. Viv followed behind her, carrying the bag of chips and snacks. “I have seriously gained weight from all the gifts he has brought in.”
“Then stop eating it,” Y/n answered rather sharply.
“Well, you won’t eat it, so someone has to?”
Y/n ignored her, grabbing a few bundles of bouquets before heading back to the front of the shop.
“How do you guys know each other?”
Sighing, Y/n answered, “I’ve known him since I was twelve, my brother met him in school and since then he’s been pretty much part of the family.” She grabbed a white rose, one of her favorites. “They both enlisted into the military together and were deployed together.” Her breath hitched, “but Kakashi was the only one who returned home alive.”
Viv leaned over to hug her. She knew about her brother’s death and how it had affected her.
Y/n has barely spoken about Kakashi but it did not take much for Viv to put two and two together to confirm, she asked, “he’s the father of your babies?”
It was a long pause before Y/n answered quietly, “yes.”
“It seems like to me, he wants to be part of your life?”
For a second, Y/n zoned out. “He didn’t want us at first.”
“Key word, at first.” Viv clarified, leaning onto the table. “Not trying to create excuses for him but just stating that people can change overnight. He didn’t want you guys at first but what if he wants you guys now?” She stares silently at Y/n before walking away, “people can change and it could start with their actions.”
.
When Kakashi arrives the next day with two orders of Takoyakis, he glances around the shop looking for Y/n.
Viv greets him and answers his silent question, “she’s resting in the office, she kind of had a rough morning.”
“Ah,” Kakashi nodded, passing the bag of Takoyakis to her. “Maybe this might lighten her mood?”
Viv motioned for him to go on ahead to the back room, “it’s the first door to the left.”
Kakashi gently knocked on the door slightly closed door before slowly opening it. He catches sight of Y/n, her back facing towards him. “Hey…” He froze, hearing a sharp gasp.
Y/n moans, a hand clutching her belly.
A loud pop echoes the room followed by the sound of gushing fluid.
“Ah!”
Kakashi reaches Y/n before she can stumble forward. His eyes widen when he sees the floor wet. “Is that…”
“My water… my water just broke…” She gasps, her hand grips tightly around Kakashi’s arms as her contractions begin.
“What’s going on!” Viv burst through the door and gulped, “are the twins coming?”
“Twins?” Kakashi shouted, he looked at Y/n with wide eyes, “you’re expecting twins?”
.
Kakashi has been watching the chests of the two tiny humans rise and fall in one incubator. He had only discovered a few hours ago that all this time, Y/n was carrying twins.
He is now the father of not one, but two babies. A boy and a girl.
They were early by three weeks, his son is slightly smaller than his sister and has been crying from the separation of his sister after the cesarian surgery that the nurse has kept them together.
Y/n was recovering, and sleeping with the help of some medications and he left her alone to go visit the nursery.
The door to the nursery opened and the nurse peeked her head out, “would you like to come hold them?”
Dressed in a gown, Kakashi’s hands trembled as he neared his babies. They were so small.
“Would you like to hold one at a time or both of them?”
“Both,” Kakashi answered in a heartbeat.
He took a seat in the glider and the nurse carefully handled one baby at a time, setting one in each arm. He can feel his throat tightening at the immense emotions swelling within him.
Their hats were removed and after a wash and dry, Kakashi could see their physical traits.
Though it was faint, their hair was visibly silver just like their father's with Y/n’s eye color.
During the surgery, Kakashi kept his gaze and attention on Y/n, he had never felt so useless, unable to take away any of the pain she was feeling.
As soon as the surgery room echoed with the first cry, a tear slid from the corner of Y/n’s eyes. Kakashi reached to wipe it away, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
A second cry echoes the room along with the first baby and together, Kakashi and Y/n sighed in relief.
“Here are your babies!” the nurse carried them over, bringing them close.
Kakashi has never been a sentimental one but before he knew it, his cheeks were wet. Amidst the bustling room, his focus narrowed to the sight of the two infants’ cheeks nestled against the individual who had been nurturing them for the past few months.
He recalled reaching for his phone and capturing an image to cherish the moment.
Once they settled into a private room, the babies were brought back where Y/n got to hold the both of them for the first time. The nurse spent the next hour informing Y/n and Kakashi on how to care for the babies.
“Do you want to try and nurse them?” the nurse asked.
Y/n nodded, her gaze fixed on the two babies in her arms with affectionate eyes.
Kakashi was on the verge of exiting the room to give them some privacy when Y/n remarked, “it’s all right; you can stay.”
He stayed seated at the end of the bed, watching as the nurse helped Y/n untie her gown. He felt his cheeks flush when her breasts were exposed. Kakashi couldn’t help but notice how full and engorged they looked.
“Hey daddy, why don’t you come closer, you could learn a thing or two.” The nurse urges, waving him over.
Kakashi walked around the bed and sat beside Y/n. He tried to keep his heart rate down as he watched his son immediately suckle cutely the moment he tasted the liquid gold. He chuckles, his finger rubbing his chubby cheek.
His daughter remained snoozing. Kakashi reached to nudge her cheek gently, “hey you.” The tiny baby stirred and yawned adorably before whimpering.
Y/n giggled and brought her over to her other breast, urging and cooing the baby to suckle.
As soon as their feeding was over, Y/n was ordered to rest and the babies were brought back to the nursery. Not wanting to disturb Y/n, Kakashi made his way down to the nursery.
Cradling both infants in his arms felt surreal; he had only recently come to terms with the idea of expecting one baby, and now there were two. During the months when he and Y/n were apart, he discreetly acquired various items. However, he hadn’t presented them to Y/n, uncertain of her willingness to accept them.
An unsettling sense persisted with him, urging him to engage in a conversation with Y/n.
Kakashi truly wants to make it work between him and Y/n, not just for the sake of his babies now but because he really cares for her.
.
Y/n hadn’t voiced it yet, but she was thankful for Kakashi’s presence. Even if they are only working together for the sake of their babies.
She thought she would have to go through this all alone, and though she spent most of her pregnancy alone, she didn’t know what happened for Kakashi to change his mind at the last minute.
Whatever the reason was, she wasn’t going to question it because as much as she did not want to admit it, she needed Kakashi.
When she discovered she was expecting twins, she panicked. She had seen a single mother raise one kid and it already made her nervous but just her luck, she was going to be a single mother and raising two.
Y/n didn’t take the initiative to inform Kakashi about expecting twins, especially considering his initial reluctance towards taking responsibility. When the twins were finally born, she anticipated him making a hasty exit.
Upon waking from each hospital nap, her first thought was a concern about being alone in the room, wondering if he had discreetly left with no intention of returning.
It was as though he could sense it; Kakashi would enter her room and greet her with a smile as she awoke. Every time, he would inquire, “do you want to see the babies?”
He stayed with her for the four days of recovery and insisted on taking them home when they were finally released from the hospital.
Y/n was in no position to decline his offer, accepting it with a soft, “yes, please.” The car ride of them four was quiet. The babies slept through, tucked cozily in their car seats.
She didn’t want to assume or expect, she would take whatever Kakashi had to offer.
“Thank you for the ride,” she said quietly as soon as he parked in front of her apartment. She unbuckled her seat belt and froze when he turned off the engine to his car, unbuckling his seat belt as well. “you’re coming… inside?”
“Of course,” he said with a matter-of-fact tone, “you’re not supposed to be carrying anything more than a few pounds, remember?”
Kakashi carried both babies into the apartment, setting them down on the couch before returning to his car to gather the rest of the other items.
While it was just the three of them, Y/n cooed at her two sleeping babies. “Welcome home.”
.
“Kakashi,” Y/n called his name quietly, he turned his head, looking away from his daughter that’s nestled in the crook of his arm. “I appreciate you being here with us.” She inhaled softly, “but you are not obligated in any way to be here.”
It has been three days, three days of Kakashi giving them his undivided attention. He had told her that he would stay a few nights, only leaving home to shower and grab some items before returning.
Due to her cesarean surgery, she had restricted movements, with swift sitting and standing being prohibited. All remaining activities were geared towards minimizing the risk of reopening her wound.
She wouldn’t have been able to relax and stay off her feet if it wasn’t for the help of Kakashi. He had made their meals, handled the babies, and assisted Y/n with tending to her after-birth wound.
“I don’t want…” her voice croaked, “I don’t want you to feel obligated to be here, because you and I both know – “
“I want to be here. I want to be here because I am choosing to be here, not because I’m obligated,” Kakashi clarified softly. He adjusts his daughter in his arms, “I know there is nothing I can do to take back how I had initially reacted to the pregnancy. I’ll regret it for the rest of my life. The only thing I can offer you now are my actions, maybe my words.” He scoots closer until he is sitting beside Y/n who is nursing their son. “I want to be with you and the babies. Through it all. I’m not going anywhere and if I am, it is wherever you three are.”
Y/n stares into Kakashi’s eyes, searching, searching for something she knew was not there. “So,” she whispers, “you want to be with us as their father?”
“Yes.” He answered without a second thought. “I want to do the honorable thing and marry you if you allow.”
“For the sake of the babies?”
Kakashi stammered for a second, “well, that too but I want to be a husband to you.”
“Do you… can you love me?”
Silence sat heavy between them before he answered, “I can learn to love you.” He wasn’t sure if the tears that filled her eyes were tears of joy or pain. They pooled at her lower eyelid, refusing to fall down her cheeks. “I – I don’t know how to love, but I can learn. If you can give me a leeway, I’ll learn to love you.”
Y/n turned away so he wouldn’t see her tears fall as she quickly wiped them with her sleeve. “Okay. I’m okay with that.”
.
Nine months have passed and within that time frame, Kakashi proposed in the presence of their two-month-old babies and moved into their place, taking over the spare room beside Y/n.
They formalized their marriage in the presence of an intimate gathering. Despite being married, they maintained separate sleeping quarters. Their connection remains amicable, marked by occasional displays of affection centered around the babies. Their lives persist with the primary emphasis and priority placed on their little ones.
Y/n continued her life running her flower shop and Kakashi resumed teaching at the university.
With two babies, time went by quicker than they anticipated and before they knew it, winter had arrived and Y/n’s business slowed while Kakashi was on winter break.
It was the night of New Year's Eve, the babies had gone to bed at their usual time leaving Kakashi and Y/n alone. Though they spent many nights alone together, it was exceptionally different, considering that their first night together had happened the same day two years ago.
“Did… you want to watch the ball drop with me?” Kakashi asked when Y/n had finished preparing her nightly tea.
Caught off guard Y/n froze for a split second before answering, “sure, if you don’t mind.”
“Never, never with you.”
Her heart fluttered and she turned away to hide her red cheeks. “Wou – would you like a cup of tea too?”
“Please,” he said softly.
When Y/n returned Kakashi had lit a few candles and had two throw blankets out but he was nowhere in the room. At that moment, he exits the baby's room, returning.
“Emi began fussing but she went right back to sleep with the pacifier.” He reached for the cup of tea.
Y/n stepped forward to hand him the cup when she stumbled, the hot tea spilled onto his hand.
“Oh my God!” she shouted, setting the cup on the coffee table before checking his hand. She immediately tugged her shirt, gently drying his hand to inspect the burn. It was red. “Let me go get some toothpaste!”
She returned with some gauze and the tube of toothpaste and quickly applied it all over his hand before bandaging it up. “I’m so sorry…”
“It’s okay,” he murmured.
Y/n looked up at him with worried eyes, not noticing that he had been quiet and allowing her to tend to his wound. He was happy to have this interaction with her.
Kakashi reached up to brush her hair behind her ear. “Y/n.”
Y/n could melt that instant hearing him call her name, she always loved how he said her name. “Yes?”
“I’m tired of living this way,” his eyes flashed at his choice of words and he quickly corrected himself, “I mean in a way of I am tired of living like we’re strangers but parents to our children.” His eyes search hers, to make sure she didn’t misunderstand his initial words. “I want to be more than a husband to you, I want to be your rock, the person you can rely on.” Kakashi inhales sharply before speaking the next few words. “I want to be someone you love.”
“I do love you, Kakashi,” Y/n replied, “I have loved you for many years since I was probably a teenager.” She rubbed her thumb over his bandaged hand. “You were my first crush and first love. I still love you.” She looked down at his hand, “but you always just saw me as Brian’s little sister.”
With his other hand, Kakashi cupped her face, guiding her to look at him. “It is true, I did see you as Brian’s little cute sister who was so shy when I was around, but when I returned from my first deployment and you were nineteen… a grown woman… believe me when I tell you that you were the most beautiful woman in my life since that day.” He closed his eyes and released a deep breath, “then Brian and I were deployed again and that day – “ he choked on his words. “Days before that day, he had said to me – as if he knew his days were counting down, he said to me ‘I know you have something going for Y/n, I see the way you stare at her. I’ve noticed it. If anything ever happens to me, take care of my sister for me, will ‘ya? You’re the only man I trust with her.’” His thumb reached up to swipe the tear that slipped from her eyes. “Y/n, I didn’t exactly grow up with love or how to love? I learned how to love and be loved the hard way or no way at all. Please – give me grace… teach me how to love, teach me how to be loved, and teach me how to be in love with you because I don’t want it with anyone else.” He pressed his lips against hers. “I just want you love and I want to love you. Teach me how to love you so that you’ll love me back.”
Y/n threw herself at him, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck. “I love you, Kakashi. I love you and I am in love with you.” She lifts herself to look down at him with a bright smile. “I know you already love me, you show it to me in different ways but I know you love me and our babies.”
“Y/n,” he calls her name huskily.
“Hmm?”
“Please, kiss me…”
Y/n giggles and fulfills his request. Immediately everything around them began to escalate. Kakashi’s hands slipped beneath her shirt, rubbing her back. His fingers fumble with the back of her bra strap. “Kakashi…”
“Sorry, I just… I just miss touching you…”
“No – no please… please touch me. I need you.”
Kakashi groaned, “I need you badly too…”
“But before we have sex – can we share rooms? I… will it be too soon to move into one?” Y/n asked with a tint of pink on her cheeks.
Kakashi smiled, “you have no idea how long I have been dying to share a room with you. I missed you so much.”
“I just thought you didn’t want to sleep with me.”
He shook his head, “no – I wanted to after we got married but I didn’t exactly know how to approach you with that question. I didn’t know if… you wanted your own space still.”
Y/n pecked his lips, “move in, I want you to make love to me every night.”
“You might regret that…”
.
The bed softly creaked against the floor, thrashing against the wall with each slow thrust of Kakashi.
He rolled his hips, grunting each time his cock stroked entirely into her sweet pussy.
“I love you… I have loved you for so long…” His fingers tightened around hers as he pinned them above her head. “I don’t want to waste a second without you anymore…”
“Me too – me too Ka – ashi…” Y/n moaned and gasped, “I’m so close, please –“
Kakashi cut her words with a kiss, his tongue thrusting past her lips to dance with hers. He was close too, it had been too long and he wasn’t going to last much longer.
With deeper rolls of his hips, Kakshi groaned against her mouth as he cums into the condom. He continued to slowly thrust, feeling Y/n’s walls clench and tightly tremble around his cock.
As they came down from their high, Kakashi gazed lovingly down at her. “I might be late but… Happy New Year, I cannot wait to start this year with you and our babies.” Tenderly, he takes her hand, adorned with the wedding ring, and gently kisses it. “I love you, wifey.”

“Let's see…what else did you miss?”
You sat beside Kakashi on his bed, your head resting on his shoulder and your hand tracing gentle patterns along his palm. It had only been a few hours since Lady Tsunade had returned to the village and fixed him up, and she had barely left before word somehow got to you that he was awake and healthy.
When Tsunade had explained to Kakashi how long he’d been unconscious since Itachi’s attack, he felt ashamed. All that time, wasted. He should have avoided getting caught in that jutsu. But he was thankful his comrades and students were safe, despite feeling like he’d done nothing to help.
And when he saw you, every feeling was replaced with guilt for how worried you’d been.
But everything had been forgiven in a flutter of kisses, his hands and mouth both more eager than his recovering muscles could keep up with. Eventually, kisses morphed into conversation; you excitedly filling him in on everything that had happened throughout the village while he’d been asleep. Truthfully, it was probably more information than he was concerned with. But Kakashi was more than happy to spend time with you in any way. Even if it involved listening to stories of people he wasn’t even sure he’d ever met, he’d still take it.
His muscles ached from the lack of use. He was just about to ask if you wanted to continue this conversation on a walk when you were suddenly distracted. A tiny sparrow tapped on the window, drawing your attention. “Awww,” you cooed, “look at that little bird.”
“Hmmm,” Kakashi sighed, recognizing the signal. “Another mission already.”
“Wait, so soon? But you’ve barely recovered!”
“Well, we lost so many shinobi to Orochimaru’s attack. Those of us left just have to work harder to make up for it.”
“That explains why Iruka has been so hard to get a hold of lately. I guess he’ll be busy with missions for a while, at least until we get the Academy rebuilt.”
“We?” he asked, working on securing the wraps around his ankles. “I thought you said you were working on getting Ichiraku up and running.”
“I am. But the volunteers fixing up the Academy needed help, so if I split my time and work one shift in the morning and one—”
He leaned in to kiss your temple. “Don’t overwork yourself.”
“I could say the same to you, you know.”
“I’ll be fine,” he promised with a soft kiss on the corner of your mouth. “I hate to cut this short, but I’d better head out.”
“Right.” You kissed his mouth, delaying him for as long as you dared before pulling away. “I love you. Please be careful.”
“I will.”
And I love you too.
The words were on the tip of his tongue. He wanted to say them. He was ready to say them. He realized he had loved you this entire time, and he wanted to tell you. He just needed to move his jaw, vibrate his vocal cords, and say the words.
But then you stood up, and made your way to the bedroom door. And his chance was gone.
“Walk me out?”
“Of course.”
He stayed by your side as you walked to the front door of his apartment, wishing he had more time to spend with you before being sent out again. But this was the life he’d chosen, and people were counting on him.
“See you when you’re back.”
And with that, you gave him one last sweet smile before walking out. His heart tugged in his chest as he watched you leave. But he just needed to focus on this mission, and then he could come home and spend some time with you.
First, though, he needed to check on his students. Tsunade had told him all about what happened between Naruto and Kabuto in Tanzaku Town, and Sakura was sure to be worried about Sasuke’s health. Kakashi knew that Tsunade had healed Sasuke before making the house call to his apartment for both treatment and a lecture. But Sasuke would probably still be recovering in the hospital. At least Naruto wasn’t hurt.
When Kakashi arrived at the hospital, the medic-nins directed him to Sasuke’s room. He could tell that something was wrong before he even made it to the doorway. The room was empty, and when he went in to investigate, all he found was an abandoned bed and a few apple slices browning on the floor. Judging by the color, they couldn’t have been there long.
Kakashi closed his eye and focused on the smells and sounds surrounding him. He picked up Naruto’s scent, along with Sakura and Sasuke’s. He knew the room was in disarray, and he couldn’t imagine Sakura doing that, so it must have been Naruto and Sasuke fighting, yet again.
But where did they go? Had they been kicked out? Sasuke hadn’t been discharged yet, and the staff seemed to think he was still here. The roof.
He was up there in the blink of an eye, finding Naruto and Sasuke charging at each other with dangerous amounts of chakra, Sakura shouting for them to stop and running right for them. Sasuke was aiming a huge amount of Chidori, and Naruto—
Is that…
He grabbed each boy by the wrist and spun around, flinging them into the water reservoirs on the roof. It may not have been the most gentle choice he could have made, but if the two of them had made contact, who knows what could have happened. And Sakura would have been right in the middle of it. Gentle wouldn't have cut it, today.
“What are you two doing up here?!”
Sakura ran up to her sensei while her two male teammates groaned and pulled themselves away from the large tanks. Seeing the fear in her eyes nearly made Kakashi’s patience snap. This was the furthest thing from teamwork he’d ever seen.
But that jutsu…no doubt about it. The Rasengan. How is Naruto using that jutsu?
Sasuke stood, offering only a glance and a smirk in Naruto’s direction. While his student was distracted, Kakashi used the body flicker jutsu to jump on top the reservoir looming over Sasuke’s head.
“What do you think you’re doing, Sasuke?”
The boy startled and looked up at him, his expression quickly darkening from surprise to annoyance and anger.
“That Chidori wasn’t the size you’d aim at a comrade from the Leaf Village,” Kakashi continued. “Were you actually trying to kill Naruto?”
Sakura and Naruto both waited tensely for Sasuke’s explanation, but the boy’s answering silence was all the jōnin needed in order to understand. He must have taken that reunion with Itachi harder than anyone realized.
Instead of offering his teammates a word, Sasuke gruffly leapt off the roof, avoiding the situation all together, leaving Naruto looking betrayed and Sakura sobbing into her fists. Kakashi hung his head and tried to make sense of how Team 7 reached this low point, and how he could turn them back to the right path.
Suddenly, Kakashi felt a different yet familiar chakra signature. Jiraiya. I should have known.
“So, it was you who taught Naruto that jutsu?” he asked. “Don’t you think he’s a little young?”
“Look who’s talking,” Jiraiya responded. “That Chidori was pretty powerful too.”
Yeah. Got me there.
“Although,” Jiraiya continued, sounding a bit more serious, “I didn’t think he would throw it at a friend. Did I miss something between those two?”
“It’s complicated…” Kakashi began. “You of all people know how rivalries can be.”
Jiraiya hummed in understanding. “Jealousy is not a good sign. Maybe I should talk to him.”
“Then I’ll trust Naruto to you. I have to get on with a mission, but I’d better deal with Sasuke too.”
“Right.”
“Ka—” Sakura sniffled. “Kakashi-sensei…”
Kakashi jumped down from the tank and approached his female student with a smile on his face and confidence in this voice, hoping she couldn’t see how fragile both really were.
“Don’t worry. We’ll have the old Sasuke back in no time.”
Kakashi found Sasuke sitting on a high branch in one of the oldest trees in the village. At least he found some interesting places to brood every once in a while. But despite the time he’d had to cool off, the genin looked ready to lash out at the first person he saw.
It was obvious enough; Sasuke had recognized how much Naruto had grown, and it had been a tough pill for the Uchiha to swallow. Their rivalry had reached a dangerous tipping point.
Seems I’ll have to fit in some mentoring today, after all.
He silently unspooled a generous length of wire and attached a shuriken to the end. Then, when he threw the shuriken to loop around the tree, the wire held Sasuke to the trunk. Kakashi quickly jumped onto the branch, showing his student that he wasn’t truly in any danger. Despite that, Sasuke had an enraged look in his eyes as he looked up.
“What’s this all about?” Sasuke snarled.
“If I didn’t do it, you’d run.” The jōnin sensei kept his tone level. “You must admit, you're not the type to take a lecture willingly.” Not unlike I used to be.
Kakashi sighed. After what he’d just watched Sasuke do, he needed to get through to him. He didn’t want to reopen his own old wounds, but if he didn’t connect with his student, Sasuke would only see what Orochimaru told him to see.
Better get right to the point. “Sasuke, forget about getting revenge.”
The boy was only angrier upon hearing this advice, and Kakashi wished he’d been more surprised at the reaction. “Although,” he continued, “in my line of work, I've seen a lot of kids like you.” He had been tempted himself; looking for someone or something to blame throughout the toughest times of his life. More often than not, he found the blame belonged to himself.
But how do you seek out vengeance from yourself?
“The fate of those who seek revenge is never good. It’s quite tragic, actually. You’ll only end up hurting and suffering more than you are now. Even if your revenge is a success, all that will come of it is emptiness.”
His lonely years in the ANBU. The desperate fights he wished to lose. Having no one, for fear of losing them too.
“What do you know?!” Sasuke spat. “You think you’re a genius?”
Kakashi pulled on the wire. “Calm down.”
Sasuke chuckled, looking up at his Sensei with a worrisome look in his eye. “I could kill all the people most precious to you,” he growled. “Then you’d know just how wrong you are about me.”
Obito. Rin. Sensei.
As vivid as in his nightmares, images of his old team’s deaths flashed before his eyes. He couldn’t protect any of them. Those failures were his greatest shame as a shinobi. Kakashi had avoided talking about his past with his students so they wouldn’t know just how worthless their sensei really was. But it was something Sasuke needed to know, so he swallowed his pride and steeled himself.
“Well, I suppose you could…” His aching heart provided the answer that had been his undeniable truth for so long. “But unfortunately, I don’t have anyone special left. The ones most precious to me have already been killed.”
Sasuke’s face morphed into a mix of confusion and anger.
“I’ve lived longer than you. Times were tough back in my day. I know the pain of losing somebody more than I’d like to.”
“But—”
“Neither you nor I can be called lucky, that’s for sure. But we’re not the most unfortunate, either. You and I have both found precious friends, haven’t we?”
Sasuke was quiet for a minute, and Kakashi hoped he was thinking of his classmates. His teammates. Sakura and Naruto. Kakashi knew firsthand how much someone who was originally considered an annoyance could become a dear friend; one of the most important people in a person’s life. “You realize it after you lose them.”
Kakashi flicked his wrist to loosen the wire, seeing that a lot of the fight had drained from Sasuke’s eyes. “Chidori was a power I gave you because you found something important. That power is not to be aimed at a friend or used for revenge. You ought to know what that power should be used for.”
Protecting a person who is precious to you. Someone you love.
Instantly, he wasn’t thinking of Gai anymore. Or Sensei, or Obito or Rin. He could only think of you. The person most precious to him. The person he loved, yet for some reason—some irrelevant, nonsensical reason—he hadn’t told you.
And now he couldn’t wait another second.
“Think about whether what I said hit the mark or not.”
He rushed to your apartment, hoping you hadn’t needed to go anywhere else after you’d left his place.
People could be taken away at any time—Kakashi knew that better than anyone. Yet he’d been stubborn and closed off, refusing to let himself admit to you everything you meant to him, based on fears that he didn’t even remember.
He peeked in the window and saw you lounging on the sofa, reading a book. The girl I love.
“Y/N.”
You jumped, whipping toward the window with your hand over your chest. As soon as you registered him, your eyes softened and you let out a breath. “Kakashi?” You pushed the window open and allowed him in. “What are you doing back so soon? Is something wrong?”
He lowered his mask and crashed his lips into yours the second the obstacle was removed. You stayed still; shocked and surprised. But then you wrapped your arms around him and answered his kiss. When he broke away, he kept his lips over yours, so they would brush against you as he finally said what he should have said weeks ago.
“I love you.”
You gasped, inhaling the words into your lungs. Kakashi thought he could hear the rhythm of your heart go a little haywire as you leaned back with a giddy smile. Then you let out a chuckle, something between elation and apprehension. He understood how this probably seemed to be coming out of nowhere.
“I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to tell you,” he said. “I just had to…get out of my head.”
“Kashi, I…are you sure?” you whispered. “You don’t have t—"
“I’m sure, Y/N,” he promised. “I've been sure for a while, but I was just afraid of…well, a lot, honestly. But, I love you.”
That gorgeous smile stretched across your face. “I love you too.”
His smile matched yours before he kissed you again. “Okay. I’d better get out of here before my tardiness gets me in trouble.”
You giggled. “Mmmm, bye Kashi.”
He stole one last peck before covering his face again and climbing onto your windowsill. “I should only be a couple of days,” he said, crouching to be ready to spring up on the roof for quicker travel. But then he looked at you, and he couldn’t resist telling you one more time. “I love you, Y/N.”
A fresh coat of pink ripened your cheeks. “I love you, Kakashi.”
He could stay here all day repeating it back to you, but he forced himself to go. The last thing he wanted right now was to start a cycle of back-to-back missions, but it was for the good of the village. To protect you. To protect the woman he loved, and who loved him.
It was the happiest he’d been in a long time, and he couldn’t wait to come back.

kakashi always told himself he wouldn’t get attached to others, not after all those he’s ever loved had met terrible fates. he always thought maybe he wasn’t fit for love, it wasn’t in the stars for him to fall in love and meet the one.
he’d accepted it, he’d moved on and decided he didn’t need love, he didn’t need anyone. he would be fine on his own.
as cliche as it was, all his resolve crumbled when he first saw you. walking down the streets of konoha, a small smile on your face as Kurenai talked your ear off.
“kakashi! meet y/n, theyre new here” she’s enthusiastic as she introduces you, kakashi can’t help but stare a bit, taking in your every feature.
“hi it’s nice to meet you” you say, a small smile on your face, you’re hoping he can’t hear your heart beating through your chest because oh my god he’s so tall and attractive, are all konoha men this gorgeous?
“nice to meet you too, I’m kakashi” he finds himself with sweaty palms, flashing you a shy smile, which you can only tell he does by the crinkle of his visible eye.
“I’m gonna keep showing them around, see you later!” Kurenai smiles, already grabbing your wrist and pulling you behind her.
kakashi was sure he’d forget about you by the next day, maybe he wouldn’t even see you around town.
he’s walking up the steps to his apartment when he sees boxes outside the apartment next to his, he’s staring for a bit, fiddling with his keys in hands when he sees you walking out of the apartment and picking a box up.
“kakashi! hi!” you’re smiling brightly at the jonin, he’s taken back at how friendly you were to him, he’s only waving back as you approach him. “guess we’re neighbors huh?” you’re grinning up at him as he clears his throat.
“uh- yeah guess we are” he can hear his heartbeat in his now reddened ears, and he can’t stop himself from the words that tumble out his mouth next, “would you wanna eat dinner? tonight? together?” he’s fumbling over his words and he can’t help but wince at the execution of his question.
you don’t seem to mind though, biting back the giggle in your throat and nodding, “I’d love to have dinner with you.”
he lets out a small breath before smiling and chuckling, “I can give you a hand with the boxes if you want,” looking over at the four big boxes you had yet to bring in.
“if it’s not a bother, just- never mind” you laugh, kakashi stares at you, humming for you to continue. “i was gonna say careful because they’re heavy but” you gesture towards him and he understands after a couple seconds, laughing softly.
“thank you for being considerate at least” he replies and you can’t help but blush as he lifts the boxes with ease.
dinner comes and goes quickly, the two of you making easy conversation. kakashi doesn’t remember the last time he felt so giddy talking to someone. he can’t recall the last time something felt so easy, so right to him.
and it’s almost 24 hours after dinner that he hears a soft knock on his door. his brows are furrowed, confused as to who was knocking on his door. his frown is quick to turn into a welcoming smile when he finds you outside with a fresh loaf of banana bread.
“hi! hope I’m not bothering” you chuckle and kakashi shakes his head, “‘course not” he steps aside and invites you in.
“i wanted to thank you for dinner,” you reply, holding out the loaf of bread for him. “I hope you like chocolate chips” you say nervously, kakashi smiles, nodding his head.
“it smells great, thank you, really” his hearts fluttering at your gesture. why are his palms so sweaty? is he getting sick?
it didn’t take long for kakashi to extend an invitation for you to stay for dinner, grateful for the mask hiding his all too embarrassing blush when you accepted.
it didn’t take long for it to become routine for the two of you to have dinner together, alternating who cooked, the two of you often baking together afterwards.
then kakashi had to go out on a mission, he wasn’t sure when he’d be back. he’d never felt dread leaving for missions, or been afraid of not making it back, he’d never wished he could stay home.
now he did.
now he was saying goodbye to you at the konoha gates, his heart clenching as you tell him to stay safe, that when he returned you’d cook dinner for the two of you and make him cookies he’d grown to love.
it was only two days into the mission and he couldn’t stop thinking of you. how had your day gone? how was work? did you eat? did you miss him as much as he did you?
why did he care so much?
his mind ran wild, he hadn’t realized how attached he had gotten, how quickly his feelings had grown, how fast he was falling for you.
when he returned a week later, you were there, a bright smile on your face as you greeted him at the gates. he wanted to deny the joy he felt, he wanted to ignore the way his heart skipped a beat as you smiled at him.
he can’t fall in love, he can’t be with you. it wasn’t meant for him.
he brushed past you, trying to ignore how hurt you looked, your bright smile falling from your face as your eyes followed his stoic expression.
you tried your best to not look hurt, clearing your throat and walking behind him at a distance. after a couple minutes your bottom lipped wobbled, but you kept your composure, turning left instead of right and heading into town.
kakashi immediately stopped in his track when he no longer felt your presence. turning in his heel and panic filling his body as he realized how dark it was. it didn’t take him long to find you on a park swing, staring the stars.
“you shouldn’t be out here alone” he spoke up, your head turning to face him. you only scoffed, already getting up and walking the opposite direction of him. “where are you going?” he asks, walking a bit quicker to be next to you.
“why do you care?” you ask, your voice is cold as you turn to face him, “you completely ignored me, i looked so stupid standing there just for you to ignore me!” you pushed him, catching him off guard as he stumbled backwards.
“y/n-” he mumbles, guilt eating at him for how stupid he acted.
“no” you shake your head, “don’t fucking talk to me” you’re walking away from him and the only thing he can think to do is grab your wrist, and pull you towards him.
“please i just-” despite a majority of his face being covered you can still tell he has a pleading look on his face. you don’t care to listen to him, flailing in his arms and punching his chest helplessly.
“i don’t wanna hear your bullshit excuses hatake” your voice is venomous, his grip loosening. he’d never seen you so upset, so angry, you had always been so sweet and warm.
“I’m sorry okay!” his voice is louder than he intends it, he regrets it the moment he sees you flinch a bit, “I’m sorry for being an asshole and I’m sorry for ignoring you” he’s running his hands through his hair and he’s embarrassed at how close he is to crying.
“i have never needed anything as much as i need you and i hate you for it” his voice is still firm, still a little louder than usual and his hands are shaking from the emotions flowing through him.
you’re quiet as the words seep into your brain, all the anger and frustration you had sizzling away as you process what he said.
“this past month, every dinner we have all the time we’re together it’s just so easy, i don’t think I’ve ever felt that way and it’s fucking terrifying” he’s looking at you now, hoping you’ll stop him before he says the wrong thing, but you’re silent.
“i missed you” he whispers, you’re biting your bottom lip, “please just say something” his voice is pleading as he looks at you.
the only thing you can think of is wrapping your arms around his neck, holding him as tightly as you could, relieved when you felt his arms snake around you waist, pulling you closer to him.
you stayed like that for a while, not saying anything until you both pulled away.
“dinner on me then?” you ask and he smiles sniffling a bit, before nodding.
the two of you walk back in a comfortable silence, your pinkies intertwining before finally mustering up the courage to hold your hand. both of you looked away, smiling like idiots but trying to hide it from the other.
kakashi is convinced that maybe it was in the stars for him to find the one, maybe he just wasn’t looking hard enough. maybe the one for him just happened to make amazing banana bread and cookies.

Never mix personal life with your professional duties.
This was one of the most important rules of the shinobi world. They have tried to drill this mantra into your heads since your early teenage years and kept repeating it every so often, just in case you forget.
Growing up, it was easy to follow this principle - all of your friends were civilians and you weren't particularly close with anyone from the academy, so you lived your life in peace, knowing that you don't have to worry about the people you loved and cared about.
Little did you know, however, that a certain white-haired shinobi would change that in your adulthood...
You heard of Kakashi in your early academy days. Being three years older than you and already an ANBU, your knowledge about him was based only on the rumours that kept circling the village about his past and the unfortunate death of his teammates. But it wasn't till he became a Jonin sensei, that you had the chance to meet him for the first time.
You did not have a team to lead on your own, but due to your hard work and devotion to the kids in the academy, you were often sent to help with their training and low-level missions. Team 7 was often the one needing the most help since it not only consisted of the stubborn and grumpy last survivor of the Uchiha clan, but also the hyper-energetic and mischievous 9 tails Jinchuriki.
Naturally, you and Kakashi became close. Having to supervise and protect a group of highly intelligent, stubborn, and, often, reckless genins proved to be a good enough reason for you to form some from of a friendship.
It did take a couple of years for love to blossom between you. With him being occupied primarily with the training of young ninjas and ensuring the safety of the Hidden Leaf Village, romance was not one of the things on his list of priorities. And at the time he was fine with this - you can't miss something that you never had.
But the more you matured, the more you gravitated towards each other. You worked so well together, that you started to be regularly paired for missions excluding his students. Soon after, you started to spend time outside work together. Before you knew it, you became partners in more sense than once.
And the more time passed, the more blurry the line between work and pleasure became... to the point that one single mistake changed everything.
It was a peaceful night when it happened. A day away from Konoha, you, Guy, and Kakashi were resting on your way back from delivering the sealed scrolls containing information about the next Chunin exams to Suna. You had found a small cave, tucked deep in the forest, and decided it was the perfect place to hide not only from any potential attacks, but also from the raging rain outside.
"C'mon!", you nudged Kakashi's shoulder with your own, before throwing one look at sleeping Guy and turning back to your lover, "He is deep asleep, he won't hear a thing."
The white-haired ninja gave you a stern look, but the little smile that formed on his covered lips betrayed his real mood. Moving his focus on the fire before you, he poked the burning wood with a stick, before mumbling:
"One more reason to stay still and alert", he pointed out, giving you a playful side glance, "We are supposed to be on guard."
Rolling your eyes, you let out a childish puff and crossed your arms in front of your chest.
"Guard from what? The owls?", you whined, before nudging him one more time, "C'mon, Kakashi! One kiss is all I am asking for! I haven't kissed you in like... weeks!"
"We have been away only for a few days", he lifted his brow in amusement, before leaning towards you, "And I am pretty sure you managed to steal yourself a kiss this morning. Your math is awfully bad, little dove."
You opened your mouth to respond, but quickly closed it after no good comeback came to your mind. It was true that you last shared a kiss this morning and you did exaggerate a bit about the time that has passed since then, but can anyone blame you? You were deep in your honeymoon phase when all you could think about was your lover and the feeling of his lips against yours... And making it worse, was the fact that he purposefully took with him that rich and smoky smelling perfume, that was driving you insane.
"Kakashi!", you whined his name, giving him a pleading look. Tilting his head to the side, he let out a chuckle, before carefully pulling his mask down, exposing his beautiful face.
Slowly leaning towards you, he maintained eye contact, before pressing his slightly chapped lips against yours. Immediately fluttering your eyes close, your hands found their way behind your neck, pressing his face closer toward you. Letting out a contempt sigh, you leaned to your right, giving you a better angle to keep up with the sensual dance your mouths indulged in.
After a few seconds, he pulled away, pressing the cold metal of his headband against your forehead. His breath was heavy and he gave himself a minute, calming his wildly beating heart.
"Happy, little dove?"
A wide smile stretched on your face and you eagerly nodded your head, about to respond, when you suddenly got interrupted by the loud sound of a kunai landing right above your head. Both you and Kakashi, immediately jumped from your places, your hands already reaching for your own weapons, while you shouted to Guy to wake up.
Your attackers quickly filled the cave and they visibly outnumbered you, leaving you to fight two of them each. You knew Kakashi and Guy could handle themselves, they were one of the most skillful shinobi in Konoha, after all. Yet the moment you saw one of the ninjas sneaking behind your lover's back with a sword raised high in the air, your feet suddenly had a mind of their own. You dodged a punch aimed at your face, but rather than fighting back, your body threw itself behind Kakashi, a piercing scream leaving your lips once the blade went through your stomach.
The world around the white-haired ninja abruptly stopped.
All the shouting, the sound of clashing weapons, Guy's screams for him to focus... the moment he fell your body crashing against his, it was all silence. His arms instinctively wrapped around you, protecting you from falling on the rocky ground, while his knees gave up under him. One of his hands immediately moved towards your wound, trying his best to stop the bleeding, while his other one found its way towards your face.
Kakashi's fingers shakily moved towards your forehead, moving away the few damp pieces of hair sticking to your skin. Tracing the side of your cheek, he didn't even notice he was crying, till a few teardrops fell down onto your skin. Your eyes, which were also glossy, stared at him and your lips moved, trying to say something, but the only thing that came out was blood.
"Shh, don't talk", Kakashi choked out, pressing his fingers against your mouth. Finally gaining the courage to look down, all the breath left his body once he saw how much blood you were losing, despite his best attempts to stop the bleeding.
"We have to get you to the village the fastest way possible", he muttered with a shaking voice, his arms sneaking under your body in order to lift you. You moaned from pain at the contact, using the last bit of energy to grab one of his wrists.
"N-no...", you whispered, a hefty amount of blood dripping from the corner of your mouth, "Hel-.. He.. Help Guy..."
Hearing the name of your teammate, Kakashi finally remembered you were not alone, and his head whipped around only to find the other male continuing the fight all by himself. His rough posture and scratches covering all over his face were showing he would not last long and Kakashi immediately felt his chest tightening.
He knew he had to join in and help him, but how could he leave you all alone, bleeding to your death?
Almost as if you were reading his mind, you weakly squeezed the wrist in your hold:
"Go...", you muttered, your lips twitching into a small, sad smile, "I... I will... b-be... f-fine."
"Little dove, don't... I... Why...", Kakashi cried out, not sure how to finish this sentence. Grasping your face with his hands, he pressed his mouth against yours, ignoring the metallic taste that immediately washed over his senses once your blood touched his tongue. His tears were now freely falling from his eyes and he could not hold his sobs back any longer.
Your lips weakly moved against his for a minute, before you had to sharply take a breath. Your consciousness was slowly slipping away and your gaze was now cloudy, unable to focus on one particular thing. You felt coldness slowly making its way through your limbs, bringing a strangely welcoming feeling of numbness and peace. Despite your vision getting blurry, your head tilted to the side, the outline of your lover's face still clear.
"I.. I love y-you", you breathed out, one final tear making its way from the corner of your eye. Kakashi carefully caught it with his thumb, his head violently shaking from side to side.
"No, no, no!", he kept repeating, his voice cracking, "Please just... please just stay with me!"
Your stare remained unmoving and it took a few seconds for the white-haired ninja to realize that your breathing had stopped as well.
It was too late...
you were gone.
Dozens of feelings washed over the Leaf shinobi at the same time. Pain. Sadness. Rage. Shock.
With an angry scream, he pressed your now limp body against him, while one of his hands moved to move his headband away from his face, showing his already glowing Sharingan.
The fight lasted a few minutes afterward, maybe even less. Fuelled by his raw pain, Kakashi did not hold himself back, slaying all of the enemy ninjas one by one. Soon the ground was crimson red and the only remaining sound was the white-haired man rigid breathing and the sound of the rain, which kept pouring outside the cave.
"Kakashi...", Guy carefully said, his gaze moving to your already cold body which rested in the corner of the cave. He bit his lip, unsure what to say, choosing instead to remain still and quiet. He couldn't control himself, however, once Kakashi's heavy breathing turned into sobs again, and he wrapped his arms around his friend.
"I am sorry...", the black-haired man sighed, a shaky breath leaving his lips as well. His own eyes started to tear up and he tried his best to blink them away, a poor attempt to remain strong for your lover, who was already falling apart in his arms.
The next few hours they spent in silence, with Guy guarding the entrance, while Kakashi held your cold hand in his own, his eyes staring at your face like he hoped you were just in a deep sleep and would wake up any moment.
Or perhaps, he was hoping that he was the one dreaming and that once the sun rose high in the sky, he would wake up, finding your smiling face nested comfortably between his neck and shoulder...
But that never happened. Instead, the hours kept passing with him frozen in his place next to you, till Guy gently laid his hand on his back, telling him it was time to go. With one last kiss on your cold forehead, Kakashi took off his jacket and laid it carefully over your body, before scooping it in his arms.
Leaving the cave, his eyes kept staring ahead, his expression now unreadable. The memories of you, that kept flashing before his eyes during the whole night, were now pushed at the back of his brain, while only one though kept occupying his mind:
Never mix personal life with your professional duties.
He failed to do that.
Again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Tsk, how sad!", the man behind Kakashi muttered under his breath, "I bet he is spending his whole pay on drinks again!"
The woman next to him shushed him, hitting him on the shoulder while doing so.
"Be quiet!", she scolded, "He will hear you!"
The man scoffed, his eyes not moving from the white-haired ninja before him, who kept calmly putting his shopping away, without even glancing in their direction.
"Well, let him hear! Because it is pathetic, it's what it is!", he grumbled, making sure to speak as loudly as he could, "One of our best ninjas turned alcoholic... Look at him! He doesn't even look like himself anymore!"
Years ago Kakashi would have turned around and silenced them just with a glare. But now... he had no more energy for that.
Because they didn't understand and would never be able to understand what he had gone through. They would never have to bear the burden of having someone else's blood on their hands, neither would they experience the feeling of guilt that would tear their soul apart, a constant reminder that they could not protect the ones they loved.
So why would he bother explaining to them that the only reason why he had to be under the influence, was because this was the only way to feel close to you again? The only way to silence the voices inside his head, which kept reminding him how it was him who was supposed to be dead, not you?
Instead of replying, he just grabbed his bag and exited the shop. He walked hurriedly towards his house, eager to open the bottle of sake he just bought and mute the feeling of missing you, that kept breaking his heart every single time he was completely sober.
"Kakashi!", Guy's voice sounded somewhere behind him, and his step halted for a bit, turning around. His friend gave him a little smile, which immediately fell, once his eyes fell on the neck bottle which poked out of Kakashi's bag. It was not easy to watch one of your best friends falling deeper and deeper into a hole, refusing any of your help.
The white-haired man suddenly felt small, almost embarrassed by the look the other male gave him. But instead of waiting, the moment he saw him walking towards him, he just turned around and almost sprinted back to his house.
Closing the door, he let out a breath, he didn't even know he was holding. Kicking his shoes aside, he made his way towards the kitchen and took out the piece of bread and the few bottles of alcohol he had brought earlier. Opening one of them, he didn't even bother to grab a glass, before he made his way towards the bedroom and sat down against his pillows.
Grabbing the picture of you that he kept on the bedside table, he gently traced your smile with his thumb, before taking a sip of his drink. The burning sensation in his throat was irritating, but it was nothing compared to the burning feeling inside his chest.
"We will be together soon, little dove...", he smiled sadly, "I promise."

The door looked no less intimidating this time around, in fact, it was even more so, and you shook like a leaf caught in an autumn wind. Two days had passed since that fateful encounter with the infamous Kakashi Hatake and in that time he had barely left your thoughts.
At first, you had considered telling no one about the dinner invitation, but after a sleepless night and turning up to work looking as if you had been dragged through a hedge backwards, you had relented. It would have been stupid to pretend that you were alright when questioned by your closest friend, the dark circles beneath your eyes and the dishevelled state of your clothes were a dead giveaway that all was not right.
You dissected the interaction from every possible angle—without revealing the details of your assignment—and it was your friend’s opinion that this was indeed a date. That thought was almost worse than still feeling somewhat confused by the situation, because if it was a date then that meant there was more than a possibility that Kakashi actually liked you, and that was insane.
Glancing down, you eyed the simple charcoal grey dress you wore. It highlighted the curve of your waist, flaring at your hips and falling to your knees. There was no way that you had selected this specific dress because the colour reminded you of the colour of a certain Hokage’s eyes, absolutely not and no one could prove it.
Suddenly, a muffled voice sounded from the other side of the ominous door, forcing you to take a step back in alarm.
“Are you going to knock, or shall we stand here a little longer?”
Trust him to have been alerted to your presence despite your attempts at the lightest of footsteps. Now you felt like a fool, for how long had you stood there pondering what to say or do? Had he been waiting on the other side of the door all this time? Probably considering how sane you could be if this was how you conducted yourself and reconsidering his invitation to dinner. You wouldn’t blame him.
You ground down your molars, lifting your hand only to narrow your eyes at the fist that trembled. The knock was lighter than you intended, though it was far from necessary now. Barely a second passed before the door swung open and even in the face of the man you were quickly becoming infatuated with, you managed to scowl up at him.
It earned you an amused chuckle, and that only made it worse. Your eyes closed whilst you took a calming breath, he might be the hottest man you had ever laid eyes on but that didn’t mean he couldn’t also be a little infuriating.
“How long were you standing there?”
“Do you really want to know the answer to that?” Kakashi quipped back, his head falling to the side and smiling that annoyingly adorable closed-eye smile of his.
Not for the first time did you wish for the ground to open and swallow you whole. The burn of embarrassment stained your cheeks a deep pink even through the light make-up you’d applied nervously in the bathroom only an hour prior.
“Goodbye…”
You made to turn on your heel, to retreat as swiftly as you could and chalk this entire situation up to a memory that would haunt you in the years to come, but you were halted. A hand reached around your wrist, slender fingers, rough in texture closed gently against your skin and you felt the zip of energy travel from where his fingers touched you right through your hand and up your arm.
Nervous eyes turned back towards him, the expression on his face evidence enough that he had felt it too. Silver eyebrows lifted high enough to become obscured by his hair and grey eyes wide in a perplexed look that had you swallowing thickly.
Kakashi hesitated for a moment. What on earth was that feeling that had shot through his hand? It was a redundant question, he had decades of experience with lightning and the electricity that brewed from not only the sky.
His hand fell away now that he was sure you weren’t going to attempt to run out on him. He chose to ignore the flare of panic that had ignited in his chest as you uttered that annoyed goodbye, focusing on the softness that edged your eyes as you stared at one another. Each knowing the other had felt that sensation just as strongly as they had, but unknowing what to say about it or if they should even speak it into existence.
It certainly wasn’t the way he had expected this dinner date to begin, but where was the fun in the standard when you could have literal sparks of energy connecting you both?
“Can we start again?” he asked softly, running the hand that had moments ago been wrapped around your wrist through his hair. “You look… lovely.” The pause was unintentional, an acceptable word to describe what he saw in you stuck in his throat.
Kakashi reminded himself of the lengthy pep talk he had given himself in the bathroom mirror this morning. He was your boss; this really wasn’t a normal situation, and he needed to tread carefully. The soft grey of your dress suited your complexion and the hue of your hair, it was casual enough not to look out of place, but the style complimented you.
He wanted to say you looked beautiful, that the kohl sweeping your lashes and the pastel pink of your lipstick was unnecessary, you didn’t need it–any of it–but he refrained. Opting to gesture for you to turn with him and begin the journey to his home.
The wild pound of your heart had yet to die down.
So many emotions within the space of a two-minute interaction–irritation, embarrassment, surprise, excitement, gratitude–you had experienced them all and what would usually take you many hours of inner contemplation had to be swept aside in favour of the moment in front of you.
The walk from the Hokage’s office out onto the streets of Konoha had been uneventful, giving you a few minutes of peace and the opportunity to glance at Kakashi standing by your side. He appeared dressed in a similar way to how you had always seen him in the tower, yet there were subtle differences.
His forehead protector was missing, as were the fingerless gloves that you were ashamed to admit had been a prominent feature of many a wayward daydream. You were grateful not to have passed anyone who might have questioned why you were accompanying the Hokage this evening, and more so for the cool evening breeze that diffused a little of the heat from your skin.
Your fingers twisted together in front of your body, peeking sideways long enough to catch Kakashi’s eye and blurting out words so as not to appear as if you had been ogling him. “It was dinner you invited me to, right?”
Only now that you were headed further and further from the main hustle of the village did you realise that he had never elaborated on where this dinner would take place. You were venturing towards more residential streets and even the houses that lined your path became sparse with each subsequent step taken.
“Right, dinner. I hope you don’t mind that I planned to cook for you myself. I’m a rather good cook but I don’t always make the effort if I’m only cooking for myself.”
That would mean… surely not.
“We’re having dinner in your home?” you squeaked, the wringing of your fingers intensifying.
Kakashi chuckled and the sound was like a ripple of water in a once perfectly still lake, mesmerising and it tingled at the base of your neck. His elbow jostled lightly into your arm, not enough to knock you off balance but enough to be reminded of how close he was to you.
“Well… yes. The alternative is that I feed you whilst you stand outside, but that doesn’t sound all too comfortable for you,” he joked, adopting that lazy smile once more.
He watched as you visibly stiffened. It was endearing as well as concerning and perhaps he had miscalculated. You had known him for all of two minutes and he was inviting you into his home. It made perfect sense to him; Kakashi always felt more at ease and relaxed within the four walls of his house but you weren’t to know that.
“Ah. I’m sorry if that’s come as a shock, I simply find it easier to be myself when I’m not being watched. It’s hard to go out to dinner and not have people stop by to chat or say hello. I’d like for this evening to be a chance for you and me to get to know one another without worrying about interruptions.”
That made sense, it really did. You nodded your understanding and yet it did little to untangle the mass of writhing knots in the depths of your stomach. You were going to be inside his house, Kakashi’s house… the Hokage’s house.
“It’s fine. Pretty sure that if I’m to put my trust in someone, you’re a safe bet, Lord Sixth,” you teased with a wink. You were unsure where your nerve had come from but you wouldn’t question it when it boosted your confidence to see the light pink dust the tops of his cheeks, the sliver of skin visible above his ever-present mask.
Kakashi cleared his throat. “Kakashi, please. Don’t make me ask you again.”
“Kakashi,” you conceded. Testing the weight of his name upon your tongue, feeling the muscle curl towards your teeth as you lilted the syllables for the first time in his presence. You had to admit it sounded nice, and pride flared in your chest at not stumbling over it as you had feared.
Smiling, you glanced up at him only to find his eyes fixed pointedly on you, staring as if he had words upon the tip of his tongue and yet he swallowed them back whilst you watched. You followed the bob of his Adam’s apple, bemused and perplexed by his reaction, half wanting to ask if something was wrong.
“Here we are,” he said after a long pause. Kakashi gestured with his hand and you followed it eagerly, excited for your first glimpse at the place he called home.
~
It shouldn’t have been this difficult to get you to relax.
After both of you had slipped off your shoes and padded into the main living space, Kakashi had offered to fetch you a drink whilst he cooked but you weren’t content to simply sit and wait. You were stubborn that was for sure, batting away his persistent reassurances that he didn’t need any help until he relented in giving in a small job in cutting up some vegetables.
It was clear that cooking was not your forte, his eye drawn to the less-than-efficient way you held the knife and the slow work you made in a task that would have taken him seconds, but he didn’t wish to discourage you. Instead, he monitored you like a hawk to prevent injury and praised your efforts when you presented the haphazardly chopped vegetables.
Your bright smile was worth it…
Thankfully this seemed to appease your sense of obligation to help, and in truth, he had prepped a lot of the steps in the early hours of the morning so the meal was close to being finished already. It had been an opportunity to stand a little closer to you, sharing the counter space side by side and if his head had tilted in your direction once or twice simply to admire you then you appeared none the wiser to it.
Kakashi’s thoughts returned to the moment you had first spoken his name, embarrassed by how off guard he had been caught by it. Never had he heard it said so sensually and without meaning to, he certainly didn’t get the impression that you were aware of the salacious inflection of the name from your lips.
As he plated up the pasta dish his mind turned to how it might sound moaned breathlessly into his ear and he had to stop quickly. His hand gripped the edge of the counter, eyes shut for the seconds it took to rearrange his thoughts into something far more appropriate and collected the lightly steaming plates.
Meanwhile, as Kakashi attempted to diffuse the wayward direction of his thoughts, your foot bounced nervously as you took in your surroundings. His house was clean and tidy, if not a little sparse in decoration. Apart from several potted plants and a bookcase that you couldn’t quite see the contents of except to say it was very full, there wasn’t any decor to speak of. You weren’t sure what you had expected but actually, it made sense. He didn’t seem the type to give great weight to material possessions but the place could use a little colour in your humble opinion.
“Dinner’s ready.”
The appearance of Kakashi both alarmed and calmed you, a grin spreading with ease and for a second you simply ate him up with your eyes. He had changed since your short time by his side in the kitchen, and he looked good in the charcoal grey sweater and black pants–real good.
You followed him towards the dining room, again it was tidy and devoid of clutter, and you sat happily in front of the delicious-smelling meal.
“Thank you for the meal,” you recited happily. You took a quick sip of the wine he’d poured before humming gratefully as you began to tuck in.
To say he was a good cook was an understatement, the simple meal was so flavourful that you fought down a moan of delight from escaping. “This is so—”
The words died in your throat the second your eyes lifted to give your praise of his skill. It was the last thing you were expecting though logically it made sense, how was he meant to eat with the mask in place? Yet knowing that to be reasonable, the sight of Kakashi without the mask obscuring the lower half of his face still stole your breath entirely.
It wasn’t an exaggeration to say your throat ran dry, hand raised with a bite of food midair whilst you watched him eat. Never had you seen a man look more attractive, and you knew you never would meet one more so than he.
The sharp jaw that you could make out even with the mask was accentuated perfectly, his mouth moved as he chewed his food and you spied a small mole or beauty mark beneath the left side. You wanted to touch it… maybe more so than you wanted to run your fingers over the seam of the scar bisecting his eye.
Kakashi looked up, realising you had stopped mid-sentence and tipped his head in confusion. He wiped a napkin across his face, concerned he had food smeared on himself but it was nothing like that and the realisation dawned on him suddenly.
“Oh, the mask. Whilst I can eat stealthily I thought I’d forgo that trouble since I’m alone in your company. You don’t mind seeing this old mug, do you?”
Never in your wildest, most extravagant dreams had you considered lunging across a table to kiss someone, not until that exact moment and it was unsettling. How were you meant to act? Why in the fuck were you even here? It made no sense. He was the Hokage, a goddamn war hero and probably the most eligible bachelor in the entire village, and you were… you. Nothing special across the board.
“No, I don’t mind at all,” you murmured. “But why am I here? I don’t understand. I came to you about an assignment you might have information on, and now I’m sitting in your home.”
Kakashi frowned at your question, at how your shoulders rolled inwards and the once bright smile he’d seen only minutes ago diminished into an expression of worry and what he interpreted as insecurity of some kind, though he couldn’t quite understand the reason behind it.
This was a conversation he had not anticipated this early, recalling his long discussions with Obito and how he had sworn to be as honest as he could with you. To ensure that you understood his interest was genuine, even if the invitation had been rushed to distract you from your said assignment. At least until he and Obito could work something out that would hopefully not land anyone in hot water.
You stared into the depths of your pasta, the dish growing cold the longer you left it untouched but you didn’t feel very hungry anymore in the face of your anxieties. Kakashi cleared his throat and your eyes flew up as if commanded to.
“I’m sorry if I’ve caused you confusion. I know that my inviting you here was… hasty. I’ll be honest, as honest as I can be,” he offered and your nose scrunched at that last part before he continued. “I-I’ve noticed you in passing, ever since I became Hokage and you seem like someone I’d like to know more.”
The beat of your heart sped faster, a course of adrenaline flooding your veins and you licked over your lips, the skin suddenly parched. Your fingers trembled around the stem of your wine glass, holding it steady as you took a large gulp beneath the watchful eye of the man sitting opposite you. What should you say? That you were flattered but you still didn’t understand despite what he offered as an explanation. However, Kakashi seemed to have more to volunteer and you were spared from having to speak yet.
“I understand that we met under unusual circumstances and I will, of course, answer any questions you might have relating to the case you’re working on, but I want to be clear that I asked you here as a… a date.”
“I’m nothing special,” you admitted without hesitation or thought. The answering silence was heavy as you met with a face that was unimpressed at best.
“I don’t think you get to decide that,” Kakashi stated flatly, his tone cool for the first time. It made you sit up a little straighter.
Kakashi tentatively reached his hand across the table, the very tips of his fingers touched your knuckles for the briefest moment. “Please eat, and tell me a little about yourself. Let me be the one to decide whether you’re special or not.”
It was impossible to deny him those simple requests, not when they were asked with such heartfelt sincerity. It truly would be a shame to waste such a wonderful meal and after a moment of pause, you resumed your eating much to Kakashi’s delight.
You still weren’t used to seeing him like this, not just without his mask but in any kind of informal setting. As you considered what to tell him, you watched him eat slowly and it was obvious he was watching you too.
A couple of idiots… that’s what you were.
The conversation flowed more naturally after your outburst and slowly but surely, you relaxed enough that it was quite funny to hear his take on certain things. You told him how your father had been a Jonin many years ago but was now retired. Kakashi asked for his name which you gave. It was cute that he claimed to have heard of him and that he had been a brave man, an asset to Konoha in his words.
He asked if you had ever considered the shinobi life, chuckling at your abrupt laughter and explanation that you had no aptitude for it as well as no regret over that fact.
Kakashi was intrigued to discover you enjoyed reading and rather passionately too, your eyes lit up as you spoke about your interest. He too was an avid reader and he was quite sure that the entire village and surrounding lands were aware of that.
“So, is it true?” you asked with a timid smile.
“Is what true?”
You coughed, swallowing a small sip of wine the wrong way and you couldn’t quite believe you were even asking this, maybe the wine was going to your head. “Well, the rumour is that you have a bit of a habit of reading books of a certain nature, and quite publicly too.”
Kakashi blushed. The entirety of his cheeks warmed to a brilliant pink and you noticed the colour even crept to the tips of his ears. It was both the most endearing thing you might have ever witnessed and also the funniest. Here was the man in charge of the entire village and he was blushing like a teenager who was caught staring too long at a crush.
For a moment you didn’t think he was going to answer, but with a sheepish expression that made you tingle all over, he nodded dutifully.
“Guilty as charged.” He sighed and looked off towards the living room you had previously occupied, you guessed at the overstuffed bookcase. “It started as a kind of ‘fuck you’ to some of my elders that developed into a habit that I’ve never been able to quit.”
Interesting…
You mused over his cursory answer, swirling the remnants of your near-empty glass and in a mad moment of courage you met his stare with a salacious smile. He was first to look away and that only served to bolster your confidence when he stuttered and spoke again.
“It’s not like I’m walking around with a perpetual hard-on.”
Even to your ear, he sounded pouty but there was no real bite of annoyance to it. He stood with the now empty dishes in hand and walked towards the kitchen, and you were quick to follow closely at his back. Kakashi sensed your presence far more intensely this time, you were a full footstep closer whilst he walked and he was certain that you were now relaxed in his presence. It must be true if you were willing to ask such a question, one he was a little shy over but underneath it, he liked being just that little bit vulnerable with you. It wasn’t something he allowed himself with anyone else and it was strangely more cathartic than he had expected.
It was hard not to snort in laughter at that last comment and you’d be lying if you were to say it was easy not to let your eyes lower to the place below the waist in question, just to check. The wine had to be affecting you at this point as everything was bathed in a soft glow from the now pitch black outside and the few lights on within the house. It made things seem more intimate and you could admit that you liked it rather a lot.
With the dishes set in the sink to soak, Kakashi turned to lean on the counter and simply admired you in front of him. There was a noticeable height difference but one that he didn’t mind in the least, in fact, he liked it. It seemed there was a lot of liking going on right now, not that either of you was aware of the other's current train of thought.
A lull had fallen in the conversation, the last remark about hard-ons making it feel amusingly difficult to restart things but there was no feeling of discomfort to the stretch of silence. It made other sounds far more obvious, such as Kakashi’s slightly increased heart rate and the barely perceptible hitch in your breathing despite there being no evident reason for it.
You reckoned that had this moment played out on a big screen you would have been certain a kiss scene was approaching, but living it made you a lot more cautious. Not least because crossing that particular line would come with consequences and ones you weren’t sure you could recover from. Kissing the Hokage was definitely to be considered a no-no for a subordinate but that was his call to make, right? Right?
Kakashi was the first one to move, closing the small distance and reaching out to pull free your bottom lip that you were worrying with your teeth without realising. His touch was featherlight, the barest graze of his thumb across your lip and you froze beneath his hooded stare. You wanted to wrap your arms around his neck and beckon him to your lips like a siren calling to a sailor but trepidation and the fear of the unknown stopped you.
No, it wasn’t the fear of the unknown, it was the fear of acceptance and reciprocation that had you pausing. You wished you weren’t so inside your head, so wrapped up in insecurities that you couldn’t appreciate the honest interest that was staring right into your face.
He was so close, one more inch lower and you’d be breathing the same air. The scent of your shampoo and the faint dab of perfume ensnared him fully and it was difficult to think about anything else than how you might feel in his arms, against his mouth. Would you taste sweet? Would you melt against him? So many possibilities and he wanted to learn the answers.
This was it. The final moment to pull yourself free and stop this from happening. To thank him for the meal, walk out the door and into a future that wouldn’t include him. Kakashi Hatake wanted to kiss you, there was no way of denying it now and your pulse shot through the roof. You had always thought it corny when you read in books how it seemed that time stood still but there was no other way of describing how this moment felt and you finally understood the expression. It was as if there was only you and he in the entire world and nothing else mattered.
Could you possibly accept him?
Would he accept you?

Kakashi as a Dad
Masterlist
| GNReader, REQUESTED, new format bc I havent written head cannons yet, so hopefully you like this, these are just my opinions
Tumblr media
alright bear with me for a new format, I havent written headcannons before
Kakashi as a dad is really patient with his kids…
honestly, I see him with one kid, two at the most
this man is so soft when they’re born, those books you give him a hard time over are nowhere in sight and his full undivided attention is on the baby
(and you if you birthed it, if you had a surrogate, then he’s super kind and gentle with them, thanking them profusely for your new bundle of joy)
this man is weak when it comes to them, which often turns into you being the bad guy
forgets he’s a dad and sometimes plays the role of a best friend more than father
and don’t get me started on uncle Gai visiting
No. Just no.
HE TRIES TO TEACH THE BABY TAIJUTSU AND KAKASHI WOULD LET HIM
Kakashi would 10/10 kick his ass
Kakashi with a little girl… he does tea parties with her, that’s his little princess. Whatever she wants she gets
He also boosts her ego by play fighting and letting her win
Super protective as she gets older
Lowkey doesn’t want her to be a ninja because he wants to keep her as safe as possible
10/10 would be the exact same way with a son
No way in hell would he willingly let him or his sister join…
Is almost tempted to sabotage their exams
He will help them train. He knows that if they’re going to succeed that they need the best teacher and that would absolutely be him
As Hokage, he’s careful that he makes sure he divides his time evenly
He knows how easy it is to get wrapped up in work and not be there for his family, but he swore to you the minute he would never abandon you or your children
Certainly not for the Hokage title
If you asked him to resign, he would
But you would never
And his kids are just as understanding
And way too proud to let him
They’d just show up at the office and hangout while he works, practicing their jutsu and getting advice when they could
He’s also 100% supportive of whatever his children identify as or with.
He tries to be a wingman… for both.
He just embarrasses them.
If they identify with the opposite gender than what they were assigned at birth? He’s the first to correct or threaten anyone who calls them by their deadname.
Will take the kid to get their hair cut or dyed or whatever else.
Non-binary? Like me! immediately transitions to calling the kid they/them
Kakashi would simply love his family. End of story. Nothing could break that love or bond he has with them.

*me projecting onto my OC the desire to hold Kakashi tight every time I see him stumble because of his past* 🥺
Poor baby 😭
(P.s. who am I kidding - I want to hold him tight all the time, regardless 🙈)
☙ ❦ ❧
As I am slowly approaching a 2 year anniversary since I began writing my fanfic(s) with Kakashi (very slowly - I began some time around August 2021), I can’t help but recall how I got into all this. Initially I remember that after watching several random episodes of Naruto-1 and Shippuuden I got interested in Kakashi’s character and being impatient (or, let’s be honest, not too eager to watch the whole anime since I still don’t consider it too interesting 🙈) I focused on his story, reading various forums, watching videos (so I immediately collected all the spoilers 😅), and, finally, watched/read about his past.
I was so upset by what had happened to him. And my biggest trauma was that he remained single. This kind, humble, honorable man remained single!.. 🤯
So yeah, I think the whole thing began when I got upset and decided to change that, at least in my imagination.
I did read some fanfics, but the ones I came across did not really meet my vibe. Later on, as I got into the community, I realized that I was just unlucky. But, on the other hand, if I had found all the amazing Kakashi x OC fanfics and artworks from the beginning, I would never have had the courage to start my own 🤭
I was way too self-conscious when it came to my creations, so seeing something I was clearly unable to surpass would have been a firm argument to not begin at all. Later on I managed to change my attitude and stop comparing myself to others. Well, I still sometimes feel worthless, but… I have learned to ignore that and just struggle on and do my thing 🤭
So anyways, as I said, initially I began all this because it broke my heart seeing Kakashi alone with all this sad past and trauma.
In part 2 of my first fanfic (which I don’t know when I will ever get to publish 🙈)
several chapters are devoted to Kakashi opening up about his past to Arina (as he himself states - first and only time). And it turns out not an easy thing to do - she sees him completely shattered.
So yeah you could say this is an illustration for that moment. Although I’d say in the chapter he… probably looks a bit worse 🙈 so yeah, this might be a glamoured version 😅

**THE BIG BAD WOLF**
Kakashi Hatake x reader(F)
Tumblr media
Summary: kakashi was your school boy crush. But you were the girl that was scared of evening. And him? He was scared of nothing. You hadn’t seen him since grade school. You hadn’t thought about him since grade school… at least up until now.
Warnings: SMUT/18+/praise kink/degrading kink/virginity loss/P in V/size kink/breeding kink/primal&pray dymanics/heartbreak/language/heavy topics/jealousy/stalking/alcohol/manipulation/guilt tripping/abuse if you squint/ and other stuff… it’s me so it’s either gonna be dark and angsty or sad, dark and angsty. But of course it will have SMUT.
Authors note: uuuh, I just had an idea and went with it. Kakashis my daddy. And I hope he’s yours too.
P.S. THIS CHAPTER IS PRETTY LONG!! So HEADS UP.
BUT HAPPY VALENTINES DAY YOU HORNY BASTARDS <3
———————————————————————————
‘Kakashi Hatake…’
“Kakashi Hatake!” Naruto would yell once again both his arms waving in the air.
‘Kakashi Hatake..’
“KA-KA-SHI!! HA-TA-KE!!” Naruto would yell even louder this time each syllable getting aggressively pronounced.
You finally spoke “kakashi Hatake…” you’d say in a whisper, your face was covered in disbelief and concern. “Kakashi..h-“
Naruto would sigh an ‘uuuuuugh’ and roll his eyes “YES! (Y/N) YES! Again YES!”
A small ‘huh’ would leave your Cherry lips as you took your hand from the boys spikey, yellow hair and rose from your knees to your feet. The dust and dirt from the floor staining your navy blue combat pants. You were flabbergasted.
“I went to school with him.” You’d say out loud. More to yourself than anyone else.
——————————(PAST)——————————
Your small and dainty hands would fidget with the sticks and leave you had collected only minutes ago. You sat and the corner of the school. You liked to spend recess alone you were scared of the other kids. Your lips would form into a small pout when the leave you were trying to tie to the twig ripped in half. With an annoyed sigh you’d throw the sticks and leave to the side your hands now stained green.
You’d lift your head and trail your eyes upwards. And there he was. Your little school boy crush. Kakashi Hatake. Playing with his two best friends. Obito and Hanare. You didn’t quite know why you liked him. You didn’t even know him. Maybe it was His silver hair was just so beautiful. Maybe it was his pretty obsidian eyes. Or perhaps the little beauty mark on the right side of his face. But you didn’t know. And he didn’t know. He didn’t even know you existed.
——————————(PRESENT)—————————
Naruto’s eyes would gleem at your words and suddenly he’d jump up and down even higher.
“What was he like?? We’re you two friends??!!” Naruto would squeal jumping up and down.
A ‘meh’ expression would cross your face at the words friends. ‘Far from it.’
You’d lift your finger up in anticipation quickly raising your eyes brows in a cheeky manner.
“Heeeee…” you’d draw your words out to tease the little boy his eyes lighting up. ”..didn’t know I existed..” another ‘meh’ expression would cross your face as you slouched your shoulders.
Naruto would fall to the ground in a dramatic manner. “(Y/N)-Chan that was so messed up.” His voice was high pitched and full of disappointment.
Your look down at the blonde boy and smile. “Cmon get up.” You’d giggle like a child as he rose from the floor like you after a hard mission or battle. “Honestly tho, I had completely forgotten that, that man existed up until now.” You said with a cheeky smile as you and Naruto headed down the street the sun starting to set.
———————————————————————————
A knock at your door would have you throwing your head back and dropping your dough as you headed to the door a rag in your hands to wipe off the flour that coated your hands and forearms. Slowly and angrily you’d unlock your door annoyance radiating off your body as you swung the old piece of wood open.
“You better have a good reason for knocking this lat- oh.. Kotetsu.. Izumo.” You’d pause as you stared into the eyes of the two men who sheepishly held their hands up in a surrendering manner.
“Po tchari!!” The boys would yell in unison. The nickname had you cringing and your body visibly tensing.
“What do you two knuckle heads want?!” You’d bark wiping the flower from your hands obviously unimpressed.
The boys would grimace at your tone as they looked to each other. ‘That look.’ You hated that look. That look meant they had something up their sleeves. Kotetsu would finally speak his chin lifting in a proud manner.
“Well, we thought since todays a special day-“
“It’s a Monday” you’d chime in unimpressed
The boys would puff and shake their heads.
“We thought since it’s a very very special Monday, that maybe you’d want to go out to a party and get wasted??” The two boys would say the last word in unison as they both jumped in anticipation, stupid and childish grins painted on their faces.
Your face was plain and expressionless, you were obviously unimpressed or amused
“No.”

You’d mentally curse at yourself as you stood between the two overly drunk boys that had dragged you to this party. ‘I’m going to kill them once they’re sober’ you thought as you shoved past them and the crowd of drunken and who knows what else ninjas. You’d stomp your way over to a kitchen island grabbing yourself and cup of water before plopping yourself onto a chair. ‘I hated parties’ you thought as you sensed started to get overstimulated and overwhelmed. You’d groan as you rubbed your temples in an aggressive manner. Annoyance was radiating off of you.
“Hmm, don’t like parties?” A velvety and alluring voice would coo from in front of you. As a slutry chuckle follower.
‘Jesus’ was all you thought as you raised your head to meet the eyes of the man with the slutry voice.
“Uh no, no not at all actually.” You’d laugh out before meeting eyes with the man.
And when you did verbally sighed. It was just some ugly guy. You thought as you looked the brunette up and down as he eyes you down like you were some dog toy.
“Cmon, how could a pretty little lady like you not like parties?” The man would boast.
His cheeks were visibly red. He was obviously drunk. His finger and hands were stained black from some kind of much or dirt. And his skin was coated with a nasty sheen of sweat. He looked what one would call musty. Especially since the white shirt he was wearing was stained yellow from where he sweat the most. The sight of him almost made you gag.
You’d visibly cringe at his words. ‘This, this is why I don’t go out.’ With an exhausted sigh you’d leap from your chair and make your way to the exit. You didn’t want this musty man to chase after you and you didn’t want the situation to escalate any further. But as if satan himself heard you, a rough and clamy hand would find it’s way onto your shoulder and squeeze the soft and delicate flesh. A shiver was sent up your spine as the man’s breath assaulted your ear.
“Hey now sweet thing..” he’d grind his hips against your behind. You’d freeze. No man’s ever touched you like that. Ever “why not go back to my place hmm? Let me forgive you for walking away from me like that??” His voice was husky and there was an anger behind it. A drunken anger. Your guy would turn as he ground his hips against you once more.
You saw red. You saw red and in the blink of an eyes you’d spun around and had the drunken bastard on his back. You didn’t say anything, you just stared into his eyes very fiercely and walked out of that crazy house.
Once the cold fresh air had hit your face your let out a sigh. A sigh of relief.
“Thank heaven..” you’d mumble as your stuffed your hands into the pockets of your maroon hoodie and sighed once more.
It was late. Super late. Luckily you hadn’t even let a drop of alcohol enter your system. But as you wondered through the streets you couldn’t help but think about why you were so ‘anti social’. The only people you could really stand were Naruto and maybe the two boys that had invited you to the party. They were the only ones you weren’t annoyed scared by. You laughed to yourself. A ninja, someone who saves people yet so annoyed scared by them.
You were lost in your thoughts, that was until the hairs on your body stood up. ‘You were being watched’ your intuition screamed as you froze in your steps. You’d close your eyes and take in a deep breath, you didn’t sense anybody. And you sure as hell couldn’t see anybody. You bit your lip at the feeling of prying eyes. With a gulp you shoved the feeling down and continued forward.
After what seemed like the longest walk of your existence youd finally find yourself at Ichiraku Ramen. It was nearly 2 A.M. and the man was still up waiting for someone to come and eat his ramen. You’d chuckle at that observation.
“One bowl of your finest Ramen please” you’d say with a finger pointed up and a cheeky grin as you sat yourself.
The old man would chuckle and make small talk. The conversation you two were having seeming to be somewhat bearable.
“You found anyone special?” The old man would ask as you slurped up a noodle almost chocking on the damn thing at his question.
You’d laugh as you set your chopsticks down.
“Uh no, haven’t found the right guy.” You’d say your lips forming into a straight line. “Actually, I just got back from a party and this man practically threw himself at me..” you’d shiver at the memory. “The audacity of some men.” You’d say out loud as you shook your head.
A small clang would be heard from beside you, causing you to turn your head to the left wanting to investigate what made the noise. Your skin would go ghost white at the sight before you. ‘Kakashi.’ Your body would freeze at the sight of your childhood crush. It wouldn’t have been so unsettling if he hadn’t already been staring at you. But his obsidian eye locked onto yours. The hairs on your body would stand up just like before. His eye causing the same prying feeling as before to course through your veins.
Tumblr media
‘He was watching me. He was the one watching me while I was walking.’ You thought as you continued to stare at the white haired man. His presence now felt, more dominating than ever. There was a grey gloom that filtered your vision as your stared into his eye. Even though he was 2 seats away from you he looked huge. He looked like a big bad wolf. Your finger would twitch when you finally broke the trance you were in and pulled your wallet from the pocket of your sweats.
“Here’s a tip-“ you’d pause the feeling of Kakashis eye still on you. He was boring a hole into your soul. “T-thank you for them ramen. It was delicious.”
With shakey hands you’d place a $5 bill onto the island quickly stuffing your wallet back into your pocket. With a faker smile and a wake you’d throw your hands into your pockets and make your way back to your house, your heart was pounding. Racing. ‘Why was he just staring at me like that?” Your frantic steps would fill the streets as you sped walked to your old and crusty apartment. ‘Don’t look behind you’ you told yourself as you squeezed your eyes shut.
After a few rushed turns and twists your finally made your way to your small apartment shutting the old wooden door behind you with a rushed and quick thud. You didn’t give two shits about waking your neighbors as you tree yourself against your now locked door your breathing frantic and ragged as fear continued to pulse and shoot through your veins like a thick syrup. ‘Why was he staring at me like that…’ you thought to yourself as you bit your quivering lip. ‘Why was he watching me…’ questions filled your head as the image of his one eye bored into your brain. As your breaths died down and your heart rate calmed you’d close your eyes ‘he doesn’t even know it’s me. He doesn’t know I exist.’ You told yourself as the adrenaline from your earlier encounter began to die down and your body became tired and your eyelids heavy. Slowly but surely you drifted off only one thing on your mind ‘kakashi Hatake’.
———————————————————————————
You’d laugh with Naruto as you two sat in a small clearing in the lush green forest bright rays of sun poking through the thick bush of leaves formed on top of the forest canopy. It was a warm day, and a very light breeze flowed through and rustled the leaves. The chirping of birds filled you and the small blonde boys ears as you two continued to giggle at whatever none sense you could.
Then a crack would fill the air as the wind started to pick up causing leaves and stick to smack into you and Naruto’s face. A whine would leave the boy as he jumped up to protect you. the sun was quickly covered by a dark grey cloud. As the birds and animals in the forest started to screech and whale. Then another crack would fill the air and sting your ears. A growl would fill the air and suddenly the hairs on your body would stick up as prying eyes stalked you through the thick bush of the forest. The world would spin as you began to hyperventilate your small hand going to clutch your chest. Another crack of twigs and a single red eye would have you whipping your head to the left. A scream would shoot for Naruto’s lips and..
BAM
You’d jump awake as a scream ripped through your own throat your body covered in a cold sweat. You clothes were sticky and clung to your body in an unwanted way as you wiped a sheen of sweat from your forehead.
“My god..” you’d gasp out fear still racing through your heart, the images your brain had made up still causing panic to fill your senses.
‘Kakashi’ was all you thought as you stood from your spot on the floor your arse numb and flat from the hours you spent sat there. ‘I slept against my door..’ you’d note as you rubbed your ringing temples. You may have not drank last night but your encounter with Kakashi and that dreamnightmare was definitely enough to make you wake up and feel like you had. Your clothes were sticky and stained with sweat. Your body covered in the sheen of your BO. You needed a shower. So with a roll of your eyes and a shuffle from your living room to your bathroom you’d go and get the job done.
———————————————————————————
You’d throw your damp hair into a messy bun before throwing a jacket on and stepping through your front door. Today was your day off. A Tuesday. It made you cringe. Everyone else got to work and get their jobs done then party on the weekend. Everyone but you. You could say that was part of the reason you never really made efforts to talk to anyone or make friends. You never had the right time.
Aimlessly you walked through the streets full of everyday faces holding your head high but keeping your eyes low, that was until you heard the name ‘kakashi’ it had your ears tuning in and eyes widening. You’d start your eyes to the side using your peripheral to find the source of his name. It was two women. Two young and done up women. And they were whispering into each others ears their body’s full of excitement. You’d lean against the post of a small shop closing your eyes trying your best not to act as an imposter. Taking a deep breath you’d calm your body and mind tuning your senses and listing into their conversation.
“The way he touched me and ran his hands up my body.” One would squeal from beside her friend her feet stomping to the floor in excitement. “He was huge.. in both ways” a gargled chuckle would leave the woman’s throat as she playfully chives her friends shoulder.
“you know how high his body count is right?” Her friend would chime in your tone wavering and stern. “Did he even take his Mask of to kiss you?” Her friend would ask. “Or like, say anything?”
The once excited and ecstatic woman would Stay quiet for a moment a long pause filling the air. “No.” Her once Loud voice was now week.
“Exactly, you were just another body to add to the bag. You don’t change and man like that. You don’t change a man like kakashi.” Her friend would add lightly rubbing her friends shoulder. “He’s like a wolf, a big bad wolf. he takes what he wants and he leaves.”
You’d open your eyes after hearing the end of the conversation. And you’d cringe. ‘High body count’ was all you were stuck on as regret set into your stomach. Nervously you’d rub the back of your neck and shake your head as you continued forward. A part of you wasn’t surprised at all. But then another part of you was. You knew girls likes kakashi, and you knew he knew. You just never thought that he’d use their affections for that. But then again ‘what else are you supposed to do when your sweetheart dies.’ You’d reason as you stepped into a small book store.
Boredom would sink into your bones as you walked the the isles and looked at the covers and titles on the books that sat on the shelves. After walking around the store for about 5mins you’d feel defeated Turing around and making your way to the exit in a surrender. Then, a bright orange book with two people sat on the counter would catch your eye causing you to pivot around on your feet. Your small hands would reach to the book brining it closer to you to read the title.
“Icha Icha- Make Out Paradise….” You we’re intrigued and unimpressed with the title your words laced with curiosity as you flipped the book around and began reading the summary. Then In giant bolded red letters ‘18+’caught your eye. Your eyes would widen and your fingers would twitch. ‘A little curiosity never killed anyone…’ you thought to yourself. ‘Might as well read about it. See what I’m ‘missing out on’’ Izumo’s words replayed in your head as you convinced yourself buying the book would be ok.
Guilt and Shame would claw and scream at you as the cashier placed the orange novel into your hands. you were quite ‘embarrassed’ but at the same time you knew the man could care less about what you bought from his store. He had to make a living somehow. Just like you.
“Have a nice day” you’d squeak out as you waved ‘goodbye’ to cashier. Quickly tucking the book into your pocket before rushing out of the small store.
———————————————————————————
As you sat against the bark of a tree a bright red dust would paint it’s way onto your cheeks as you read a particular part in your new romance novel that had your thighs squeezing together and your stomach turning in an unfamiliar way. Hastily you’d throw the book away from you the orange novel landing with a thud a few feet away from you. your hands would shoot up to your now tomato red face.
“Icha Icha~” a velvety and unfamiliar voice would coo from above you.
‘Oh god, not another perv..’ you’d internally groan as Your delicate and small hands dragged across your face.
“Whao-“ you’d jump back your head hitting the back of the tree as none other than kakashi Hatake stared at you his face only inches from yours.
He was giant. He was a giant. His form overpowered yours like you were nothing. It looked like he could swallow you if he wanted to. ‘Bastard’ you thought to yourself as he slowly lifted one of his arms placing it right besides your head against the tree. ‘I forget about this man for years and suddenly he has me pinned to a tree.’ Your hands would begin to shake at the proximity of the large man. Your school boy crush. The big bad wolf. And right now you felt like a little ass lamb.
“U-uh… yea-“
Kakashi would cut you off as he lifted the book into your face in a taunting manner.
“(Y/N) right?” His voice was just as velvety and smooth as the first time he spoke, something about it drawing you in.
All you could do was nod as you staired into kakashis singular obsidian orb. Kakashi would give you a close eye’d smile as he gestured for you to take your book. With a shudder you’d grab the orange Novel from his large hands and mutter a small ‘thanks’ as you continued to stare into his singular eye. ‘So close’
Tumblr media
“It’s a good read.” Kakashi would say as he lifted his hand from the tree and stood himself up. “I would know.” The white haired man’s voice was filled with a strange sense of pride as he pulled a much more tattered and withered version of your book from his pocket. Then he’d give you another close eyed smile. “Although, I don’t think I’ve ever had that kind of reaction.” Kakashi would snicker in a teasing tone as his eye never left yours.
You’d give the giant man a look that said ‘what the fuck’ as you stood up from the tree your back still flush against its bark. Then a look of confusion would cross your face as you finally broke eye contact with the man an insulting laugh leaving your throat in the process. You’d take a step from the tree walking towards the man. And his eye widened. That was until you shoulder checked right past the beast making your way out of the forest. Out of the big bad wolfs territory.
“The audacity of some men” you said out loud to yourself. The boldness and Oddness of your encounter finally setting in. ‘He’s watching me’
———————————————————————————
“(Y/N)! (Y/N)!” Naruto would yell your name as he pulled on your pants trying to get your attention in a childlike manner.
“What?” You’d question your mind still fuzzy from zoning out. “What is it?” Your tone was full of annoyance.
“Kakashi…” your eyes would roll at the sound of the white haired man’s name coming from the blonde boys mouth.
Purposefully you’d zone out as the little boy rambled on about something the legendary ninja has taught him and the rest of his team. If it was any other teacher, any other man you’d care to listen. But not when it was kakashi.. not when ever since the first time naruto had brought him up he’d consumed your ever thought and being like some animal.
Then there it was again. Your hairs would stick up from every single place on your body your spine automatically stiffening as once again prying eyes pried onto you. You’d stop dead in your tracks your heart stopping once again.
“Do you feel that?” You’d ask naruto as your eyes did a 360 of your surroundings the sun bright and heavy.
It had been 3 days since your last encounter with the white haired man. 3 days since prying eyes had pried onto your very soul. 3 lucky days.
“Feel what?” Naruto would ask jumping into a ninja stance as he dramatically whipped around. “WHOS THERE??” Naruto would bark as he circled you in a protective manner. ‘Funny, I should be the one protecting him.’
“So you do feel it?” You’d ask the little boy frantically. A small sense of hope washing over your small form.
Naruto would turn to face you making a ‘oh’ face whilst rubbing the back of his neck.
‘I hate the feeling of his eyes..’ you though to yourself as you rubbed your fingers tighter and tried to shake the stiffness from your spine away.
“No…” Naruto would cringe at his words. And you’d sigh in defeat as you rubbed your temples annoyed steam coming from your ears.
“Forget it… I think I’m just going crazy.” You’d say as you hung your head in a defeated manner. “Let’s just go get some ramen.”
Naruto would jump up and down at your words and start yelling about ‘how much’ he was gonna eat and ‘how full’ he was gonna feel. You’d chuckle at the boy his smile causing your paranoia and stress to fade.
Loud slurping noises would fill your ears as you tried to peacefully eat your ramen. ‘This boy acts like he hasn’t ate in months’ you groaned to yourself as you looked down at your bowl of ramen. ‘And he’s going to make me go broke’
“TWO MORE!” Naruto would demand from besides you causing you to shoot a glare to the child next to you.
“Naruto!! You’re going to make me go broke! Five is plenty you little crotch goblin!!” You’d yell.
“Don’t worry, it’s on me.”
‘Oh god’ your eyes would widen at the sound of the same velvety voice from earlier that week filled your ears invading your presence. You’d look to your left only to find kakashi sitting right next to you. ‘How does he just sneak up like that?’ You asked yourself as you continued to stare at the giant man. There was a glint in his eyes as he gave you another far to innocent close eye’d smile.
“Oh, that’s really uh, sweet of you.” You’d stumble on your own words trying to find the right words for your school boy crush. “But you don’t have to. Trust me it’s fine.” You’d say as you raised a defensive hand in the air your eyes locked onto kakashis.
Kakashi would chuckle.
“I insist, it’s the least I can do.” You’d raise a brow at his words ‘the least you can do for what? Stalking me?’
“Well then.. I gotta get going. Uh. Here’s this, it should cover for me and Naruto.” You’d hand a $50 bill to Teuchi Ichiraku but before the bill could reach his fingers kakashi would rip it from your fingers in the blink of an eye.
“It’s already covered.” Kakashi would say sternly as he grabbed your hand and placed the bill into your fingers in an aggressive manner.
His eye stared you down like prey, like he was testing you. like he was just waiting for you to make some kind of mistake. And you did. Your brows would furrow into a harsh line as you ripped your fingers from kakashis grasp crunching the bill in your harsh grip. You and kakshi would stare each other down both of your eyes filled with a fire that neither one of you could quite describe.
“Ya know, most ladies would say thank you.” Teuchi would peep from beside the two of you.
You’d break eye contact with kakashi to look at the old man and give him a nervous smile and look back at kakashi who was now looking at you with dark, dark eyes. It had you taking a step back.
“U-uh thank you Hatake..” you wouldn’t call him by his first name. Not to his face.
Kakashi didn’t say anything, all he did was stare at you. The same look in his eye as when you first saw him at the ramen booth.
Tumblr media
———————————————————————————
“Yeah, you’re crazy Po tchari.” Kotetsu would laugh as he listened to your story of kakashi and your frantic and crazy assumptions. “The son of the great White Fang wouldn’t stalk you, or ANYONE for that matter.” Kotetsu would add as you took a sip from his canteen Kotetsu wiping the sheen of sweat from his forehead.
The two of you had been training together for the past two hours and a half the sun finally starting to set and tiredness beginning to hit your overworked bodies.
“Whatever, you have no idea.” You’d bite back your voice laced with annoyance. “It all makes perfect sense, it all lines up.” You’d state as you threw a hoodie over your sweaty form. “You wouldn’t understand, you’re too realistic to understand.” You’d say your voice dying down.
Kotetsu would laugh.
“And you’re too paranoid to think straight.” He’d sigh “cmon Po tchari.. let’s be realistic here. What are the chances that your Childhood crush would suddenly come into your life and start stalking you? What are the chances he would like you..?” Kotetsu would stay quiet for a moment “slim. Very very slim. Especially since it’s Kakashi Hatake.”
You’d visibly wince and shrink at his words. ‘Chances that he’d like me’ you’d drop your eyes downward as you turned around making it so your back was now facing Kotetsu. ‘That hurt’ you’d think as you bit your lip feeling smaller and more defeated than ever.
“That really fucking hurt.” You’d say barley above a whisper. And you had no idea why, but tha though of kakashi not liking you brought an emptiness you hadn’t felt before. “Why would you say tha-“ you’d cut yourself off as you brang a small Hand to the bridge of your nose pinching the soft flesh before taking in a deep breath. ‘Be realistic…’ kotetsus words rang though your head “yeah.. you’re right.” Your words were small. You felt small. Smaller then when kakashi was around.
Subconsciously you’d bring both your arms across your chest in a way to protect yourself from anything else your ‘friend’ had to say Before walking away. Your brows would furrow at the words Kotetsu had said played on an infinite loop as you made your way from the training grounds to your apartment. Your safe space. Your sanctuary. You didn’t quite know when or why, but as the sun set a sheet of grey had filled the sky blocking out the beautiful colors of the setting sun. This only depressened the mood. Your mood. Then it was back. Those prying eyes that had you stopping right in your tracks and every hair on your body sticking up. But this time you weren’t scared. You were angry. Angry at the man that wasn’t was stalking you. You’d bite your lip as you looked to the trees around you steam coming from your ears as you stomped at the floor like a child.
“GO AWAY YOU SICK BASTARD!” Your words were filled with a sadness and venom you couldn’t quiet put your finger on.
There was nothing. No answer. No rustle of leaves. No gust of wind. And no kakashi. It had you rubbing your temples yet again a few mumbled curses leaving your breath. ‘Just go home’ you pleaded to yourself. A look of distress crossed your face as you looked to the heavens above before continuing your journey home.
“ kotetsu was right. You’re just paranoid (Y/N)” you reassured yourself.
“Rough day?”
‘Kakashi..’
“Perfect….” You’d spit out rolling your eyes as you looked to your left. And there he was in all his glory resting against a fence post.
At first you were angry. Furious when you heard his stupid amazing voice but when your eyes met his singular obsidian orb you found all of your anger and stress melting away. You found yourself humming as a warm and fuzzy feeling sat inside your belly. You felt safe. And happy. And you just didn’t understand why. So you finally caved in. You caved in and gave the man what he wanted. A response.
“Uh- yeah. Yeah you could say that..” you’d reply as you turned your body to face his. His frame still leaning against the fence post.
Kakashi would stay quiet as he studied your form. You should’ve felt embarrassed letting him see you like that, sweaty, messy hair, tired, boyish clothes. Most girls would’ve. But you didn’t seem to care. That intrigued him.
“How so?” Kakshi would question his voice as velvety as ever as he pushed himself from the fence post making his way towards your small form.
Now you were nervous. Nervous to have him so close. Nervous to have him tower over you. Nervous to inhale his woody and grassy smell with just a hint of lotus. You’d rub the back of your neck nervously, pondering what to say to the legendary ninja.
“Well, I just feel like I’m being watched…not all of the time but most of the time. I feel like prey. But my friend said I’m just paranoid.”
Kakashis eye would darken at your words his body visibly stiffening. He’d hold still as he looked down and you something dark glowing in his eyes. He’d take a deep breath in then a long exhale out.
“What are you telling yourself?” Kakshi would ask his head tilting ever so slightly. The world seeming to get a whole lost smaller and kakashi and whole lot bigger.
“T-that I’m being hunted..” your voice was squeaky.
Kakashis singular eye would darken even more, you didn’t think that was possible. Not with his already obsession orb. Then he’d lean in, the fabric of his mask rubbing against your cheek as he whispered into your ear.
“Might wanna listen to your instincts and be careful then…” kakashi would growl causing vibrations to shoot down your spine at the animalistic noise. “You don’t want the Big Bad Wolf to get ya.” Kakashis voice had dropped a million octaves, your body visibly shaking at the dominating tone in his voice.
‘It was him.’ Now you were sure of it.
———————————————————————————
The next two weeks had gone by perfectly fine. Kakashi had walked you home a couple times and even decided to buy you a couple snacks for some of your missions. Although you and his ‘encounters’ were limited and vague you still enjoyed ever second of being with him. At least some part of you did. The other part was terrified every second screaming and begging for you to run away. It was warning you. Kotetsu and Izumo had teased you about kakashi singing stupid little love songs about you two just to get on your nerves. Naruto had loved training with kakashi and always told you about how ‘cute Sakura’ was it made you giggle. But something just didn’t feel right. Something was just so wrong.
You sat with Kotetsu And Izumo all three of you hanging at another party with some friends. Everyone sitting in a circle you all getting ready to play ‘truth or dare’ part of you was annoyed that they had dragged you into this yet again buuut another part of you was happy that you were finally learning to let go and have fun. You still wouldn’t drink tho, not in-front of everyone one, and surely not in this setting. Then the door would click causing all of your heads to turn.
“Sorry everyone, sorta got lost on the path of life.” Kakashi would wave as he gave everyone a close eyes smile.
Everyone would cheer and chant his name, especially Might Guy. He looked happy and relaxed. Until his eye connected with yours. And where you were, at this party, full of drunken ninja and seated between to boys at that. something about him changed. And you could sense it. Hell you could see it. But you just didn’t understand why he looked so bothered. You were just here at a party you didn’t really care for. So when he asked you to talk with him for a bit and somewhere ‘more private’ you fingers twitched and your gut sank as you excused yourself from the circle Kotetsu and Izumo playfully nudging you before you left.
Kakashi was quick to grab your wrist and pull you outside quickly placing his large hands onto your shoulders and placing you against the door in an all to aggressive and caring manner.
“Why are you here?” Kakashi would ask his tone laced with annoyance as he stared into your eyes.
An audible gasp would leave your throat as tor mouth fell open. ‘The audacity of some men’ you’d laugh a boastful laugh.
“Because I can be.“ was All you replied with as you took kakashis hands from your shoulders and shoved them away.
“Are you drunk?” Kakashi would ask as he took a heavy step towards you his body language rigid and fierce. His eye drilled a hole into yours.
“No, as a matter o fact I don’t drink!” You’d say pridefully. “And either way, it would be none of your fucking business.” You’d scoff “why do you care anyway? It’s not like you’re my boyfriend or anything.” You’d question your tone fiery and fierce as you looked up at the white haired ninja with challenging eyes your brows furrowed into a hard line.
Kakashis Demeanor would shift at your words as he took a step back. He was stunned. You stunned him. No body had ever talked to him like that. No woman has ever talked to him like that.
Your Angry eyes would look kakashi up and down. ‘Who does this guy think he is?’ You’d ask yourself as you shook your head at the man. The large man.
“The audacity of some men..” was all you said before you aggressively took off stomping down the porch and back to your apartment.
———————————————————————————
You’d hum to yourself as you stepped out of your shower your hair wet and dripping a towel wrapped around your form. You hadn’t seen kakashi in a bit, and to be honest you didn’t want to. Not after he came into that party and acted like he owned you. Not after everything he’s done. Not after he stalked you. Thankfully you hadn’t felt his prying eyes in a bit. You’d hoped he’d just gone off and found some other prettier girl to mess with. But that thought also made you sad. He made you bipolar.
A sigh would leave your throat as you threw your towel off and quickly threw on an oversized hoodie and panties. You’d lay yourself in bed quickly reaching over to turn off your night lamp, only you’d stop once you saw your Icha Icah book sitting on top your night stand. And open at that. You’d raise a brow. ‘I never just leave it out in the open.’ You thought as you rubbed the back of your neck trying to think about how in ended up there. ‘Eh, maybe I just forgot..’ you tried to convince yourself as you finally turned your lamp off and laid your head onto your soft pillows. Your bed was much to big for one person. It needed someone. Kakashi. As you drifted off to sleep something felt off. ‘You never left your book out in the open’ you told yourself once again before drifting off into a slumber.
———————————————————————————
A long hard sigh would leave your throat as you slammed your back against the wooden door of your apartment. You’d just gotten back from a mission, and a hard one at that. You’d almost lost a teammate and your own life. Your close your eyes as exhaustion finally rammed into your body.
“Jesus..” you’d mumble as you pushed yourself from the wooden door “I’ll shower tomorrow” you mumbled to yourself as you hung your head low. Your back felt like crap, a sharp pain shooting up your body part with each step you took. You felt like crap.
A small grumble would have your eyes widening. You were hungry. Your body was hungry. You hadn’t ate all day. But you sure as hell weren’t making anything and nothing was open this late.
“I’ll eat tomorrow too..” you told yourself as you entered into your bedroom ‘it was darker than usual’ each step you dragged out and heavy.
You’d throw your head back looking to the ceiling as you threw your headband off it hitting the wall and floor with a few clangs. Next was your vest, it was heavy. It felt heavy on your shoulders a small ‘thank you’ leaving your lips as you took the burdened protective piece of clothing off your body. You’d take another deep breath your body relishing in the feeling of being free. Then a shuffle to the right would have your head snapping to the corner. You were on edge, after almost losing your life and a teammates who wouldn’t be? The corner was dark. Every corner in your room was darker than usual. ‘Who’s there.’ Is what you wanted to ask as your eyes glared holes into the dark corner of your room. Your breath would shutter when the hairs on your body slowly stood up the same feeling of prying eyes boring holes into your very soul “kakashi’ was All you thought. He’s what you expected to come from the corner to your right. But when a chuckle was heard from infront of you causing you to whip your head to your front your stomach would drop. He was in front of you. Taking slow and teasing steps from the darkness infront of you. His white hair shining brighter than the moon.
“Hatake…” you’d breath out as your eyes locked onto his obsidian orb all the tiredness from your body leaving in an instant. You still wouldn’t say his name. And you knew it triggered him.
He didn’t say anything. He just walked closer and closer. Slowly stalking his way up to you like a predator. There was a darkness to his eye as he looked your beaten and tired frame up and down. With each step he took he got closer, and closer, bigger and bigger, bulkier and bulkier, more dominating by the second. He truly looked like…
“The big bad wolf..” your mumble barley above a whisper.
The comment had his eyes growing even darker and his head dipping in an animalistic way. He kept stalking towards you Until he was finally an arms length from you. Then he’d speak.
“He’d lift a hand to her throat” kakashis voice was velvety and primal as he slowly raised a hand to your throat. “And squeeze” kakashis fingers would squeeze your throat his grip strong, like a vice. “Then he’d force her backwards slamming her against the wall.” And kakashi would do just that lightly lifting you from the floor your the tips of your toes barley touching the floor beneath you. You’d panic as a slick started to form between your thighs. “Then he’d leave in, his breath tickling her ears.” Kakashis lips would brush against the lobe of your ear the fabric of his mask sending shivers to shoot up your spine. “Then he’d speak…” the grip on your neck would tighten. You were gonna have bruises. ‘A mark to remember this.’ You thought as you stared at the wall infront of you.
Kakashi would practically throw his head back so his eye could lock with yours his lips leaving your ear.
“you’re Mine.” Kakashi would practically growl his words, the anger in his voice causing your thighs to clench.
Your eyes would widen as a recollection of a specific ’underlined’ portion of your book slapped you in the face. Then you connected the dots.
“Y-you we’re there that night. It was you.” You’d try your best to accuse the man your words choppy and broken from the lack of oxygen you were receiving kakashis hand still wrapped around your delicate throat.
Kakashi would chuckle. A dark chuckle. It had you shivering. You were his prey. His meal. Kakashi would take his free hand using the giant limb to tuck a few lose strands of hair behind your ear. He was warm, too warm. His warmth had you subconsciously leaning into his touch. Again Kakashi would chuckle slowly dragging his fingers against the soft flesh of your cheek tantalizingly slow. You’d shudder when the pad of his thumb connected with your lips slowly pushing the large digit past your lips and into your mouth. The action had your thighs clenching and rubbing together as slick continued to poop between your panties.
“I can smell you (Y/N)” Kakashi would coo in his velvety tone as he dipped his thumb to the back of your throat causing you to gag on the digit.
Your hands would go to his forearm trying to pry his hand from your neck, or for support. You weren’t even sure. Your mind was just dizzy. Blank. You had to be dreaming. ‘This had to be a dream.’ Kakashi dipping his thumb into the back of your throat had you second guessing if it was a dream as you gagged a second time.
“Please..” you’d all but whisper as kakashi dragged his fingers along your plumb lips coating them with your own saliva.
You didn’t know what you were begging for, not in the slightest. All you knew was that you needed kakashi, you needed him like an alcoholic needed alcohol or an addict needed his drugs, because ever since he’d randomly popped into your life you hadn’t been scared, you hadn’t been lonely, and the world wasn’t grey. It was warm, colorful and enjoyable. You needed kakashi.
You’d bite your lip stuffing a whine when kakashis hand left your throat and his lower half parted from yours. before you could even protest the man leaving kakashi was back to you in the blink of an eye. You’d reach for the white haired ninja only to have him grab your wrist and spin you around before putting your back flush against his chest. He felt like stone. Every muscle in his body solid and condensed. It was your insides clenching and you throwing your head back to look at the ninja. You wanted to kiss him. And He knew. The fucker knew. So without asking he’d bring your headband into view only to blindfold you with the soft cloth. You were blindfolded. Completely at his mercy your senses were now doubled. Every touch or whisper from the man now brining more Ecstasy and pleasure to between your thighs.
“Hatake..” you’d whine as the man’s hands left your body once again.
He didn’t say anything, all he did was place his hands back onto your body hooking his finger tips underneath the fabric of your shirt slowly lifting the material off of your body. You’d blush a bright crimson red a as flustered smile crossed your lips. Then kakashi placed both of his hands onto your shoulders and guided your small frame backwards until the back of your knees hit the edge of your bed causing you to fall onto the soft and fuzzy material of your blanket. Then without warning kakashis lips were on yours his quickly overpowering yours in searing and passionate kiss the action had you audibly gasping as you brang your hands to his hair lacing your fingers between his beautiful white locks. ‘If only I could look at him’ you though to yourself. Kakashi would pull his lips from yours resting his forehead against yours.
“You taste good lotus..” is all kakashi would say before diving back claiming your lips with his in seconds.
You’d moan into kakashis mouth when his hand traveled between both of your bodies and began rubbing smooth and calculated circles over your bundle of nerves. It had you melting, slick and wetness staining your panties even more. Kakashis lips still dominating yours. You wanted him, more than you’d ever wanted anybody. Any man. No man has ever touched you like this, and you’d be fine if kakashi was the first and last. Subconsciously your begin to buck your hips against kakashis fingers your body begging for a release it’s never had or felt before. Finally kakashi would break the kiss once more only to slowly travel down your body leaving small kisses along the way making sure to unclasp your bra and give both your breasts undivided attention before he confined downwards stopping at the hem of your pants.
“Please.. Hatake please…” Is all you could muster as you dug your fingers into the blanket below you your knuckles going white.
“Beg.” Is all kakashi would say as he stared at your blindfolded face a devilish smirk plastered onto his handsome features.
“Hatake I need you, please… please..” you we’re embarrassed. You felt shame. Begging for such a thing?
All kakashi would do is click his tung before slowly dragging your pants and panties down your legs, ankles and finally discarding them some where on your bedroom floor. Kakashi would pepper small and delicate kisses up the Inside of your thighs as he made his way back up your body until finally stopping right between your legs.
“You smell… exquisite.” Kakashi would mutter to himself as he gripped onto your thighs Harshly. Then he’d take a long and dragged out whiff basically inhaling your scent. And then to your surprise the white haired ninja would moan. A quiet and buttery moan.
That had you going feral, your toes curling and your hole clenching around nothing. You didn’t think such a giant and dominant man could make such a beautiful noise and it had you falling deeper into madness with the man. Kakashi blowing a cool line of air onto your clit had your whole body jolting your thighs a molding around his head. Kakashi would chuckle saying nothing as his hands snaked around your thighs pulling them from his head like nothing. He was so strong.
“Please…” it was the hundredth time you’d said that word tonight. At least it felt like it.
To your surprise kakashi would comply with your plead planting A wet kiss was planted onto your clit. It had your hand shooting to his white locks while the other dug into the blanket below you. Kakashi would continue to pepper wet kisses onto your clit before he finally decided to take the little bundle of nerves into his mouth and give it a long and harsh suck. And my god the noise. The noise that filled the room when he sucked onto your little bundle of nerves had you crying outloud your nails digging into his scalp. Kakashis grip on your thighs was bruising but oh so pleasurable. You wanted him to leave his mark. Needed him to.
Kakashi would take another long and torturous suck before he finally decided to flick his tongue across your little nub deciding to finally devour and torture the bundle of pleasure. He’d continue to suck and flick at the nub for quiet a while wanting to draw out ever little noise from you he possibly could. At it was working quiet well. Very well. You were writing in your bed, bucking your hips into his mouth every so often your fingers daring to pull chunks of hair from the man’s scalp. Little Mewls and moans left your throat. But never his name. His name never left your throat. Your first ever climax would continue to build your vision fading as your mind trailed off into an abyss a knot in your stomach daring to snap any minute as slick poured onto your bed sheets kakashi every so often leaving your slit to suck of your delicious and exquisite juices. Your nectar. Kakashi bitting down onto your little bundle of nerves had the knot finally bursting as a white hot pleasure invaded every sense in your body. It had your toes curing and you screaming…
“Hatake!” As your heels duh into your bed.
Kakashi would continue to ‘eat you out’ through your orgasm making sure to drink every last drop you dripped.
“Oh, (Y/N) you taste so good.” Kakashi would grumble as he climbed back up your body the fabric of his clothes rubbing against your clit making your bottom lip tremble.
Kakashi would place both of his hands to your head and take you in a searing hot kiss the feeling of your wet juices and the taste still on his chin and lips. Your whole body would tremble and melt underneath the giant man fully accepting the kiss he planted onto your lips. But you just wanted to see him. To see his face. You hated that he had blindfolded you.
“Kaka-..” you’d pause “Hatake.. please. Take me. Take me, I’m yours.” You’d say between the kiss you two had just shared.
Kakashi would say anything. You were used to that tho. In a flash hed leave your body, filling the empty void with the noise of rustling clothes and your heavy breaths. Then kakashi was back onto you filling your senses with warmth. Kakashi would give you another kiss before taking both of your wrists into one of his hands and pinning them above your head. You couldn’t see him. Or his eyes. But you had no doubt his pupils were blow out and dark. Animalistic. It had you biting your lip.
Kakashis tip teasing your Folds, dragging back and fourth between your aching hole and abused clit had you jumping back into reality and out of your thoughts. Then kakashi would finally. Finally. Like his tip up with your aching hole. But, not All things go as planned.. at least not how you planned. In a matter of seconds kakashi was thrusting his entire length and girth into you untouched core in one go. A socket scream would leave your mouth your hand immediately fighting against kakashis trying to break free from his lock as a white searing hot pain pulsated through your lower half. You felt as if you’d just been ripped in half and split open. Pain, pain was all you felt. There was no pleasure. He was taking you. Taking you a wild animal.
A shuttered breath would leave kakashi lips when his cock had gone as far as it could go in one thrust. He felt your gummy walls stretching in a way they hadn’t before your insides confused on weather or not they wanted to suck him in or push him out. A cry would bubble from your throat as kakashi pulled most of his length out only to plunge all the way back into you causing another shot of pain to shoot through your lower half. None of this felt good. None of it. You were too hot. Kakashis body heat mixed with yours now causing you to overheat as a sheen of sweat began to form on your trembling body.
“H-Hatake that hurts..” you’d mewl from below. “You’re hurting me..”
This only earned a growl from the white haired ninja, as he quickly reached his lips down to yours taking you into another searing, wet, hot kiss. It actually seemed to numb the pain, that was until he started rutting into you setting a brutal painstaking pace that had your legs wrapping around him heels digging into his arse as another cry of pain left your throat. Grunts and snarles would leave kakashis throat with each thrust the sound of wet skin slapping set skin filling the room and your ears. The sound had your hole clenching around kakashis cock.
“J-just shut up and take it.” Kakashi would growl between his words as he continued to slam into your body.
Quickly the pain would turn into a burning hot pleasure few and quiet moan beginning to leave your throat as kakashi abused and used your weeping cunt. Tears of pain were falling down your eyes from just the size and girth of the man only minutes ago, now? Now tears of pure joy and bliss were falling soaking into the fabric of your headband. Your hole began spasming around the white haired ninja’s cock signaling to kakashi that you were close. And you were. Your toes were curling and that oh so pleasurable knot was beginning to form in your stomach. Kakashi would bring his free hand and squeeze it between your bodies immediately attacking your bundle of nerves with his large and rough digit.
“Oh fuck.. you’re squeezing me so tight (Y/N).” Kakashi would mutter a moan leaving his lips.
His moan was enough to set you off causing you to reach your second orgasm of the night. A loud and pleasure filled moan would leave your throat as your cunt squeezed and creamed around kakashis length. Kakashi would continue to pound into you through your orgasm his hips and thrusts starting to stutter signaling he was close to his own climax. Before you knew it kakashi was pulling out of you and paining your stomach with his cum another guttural and feral growl leaving the man’s throat.
Both of you would stay quiet the only sound that filled the room was the sound of you two catching your breaths. Then there was a rustling, kakashi getting off your bed. But then he was back. He was back and his hand were untying the blindfold from your eyes. ‘I finally get to see him.’ You thought. But when your eyes finally met his singular eye and the mask a sigh of disappointment would leave your throat. But you were tired. Too tired to protest. Your eyes and body were sleepy tiredness finally hitting you like a punch to the face. Kakashi noticed this and planted a kiss to your forehead before he laid you in bed and wrapped and strong and large arm around your form. A hum of satisfaction would leave your throat before sleep finally over took you the last thought on your mind being
‘Kakashis right here. Here’s right here.’

Normally, your husband does enjoy some quality time with you but, with the business of villages and continuous Kage events, there has been no quality time between the two of you, so much so that he wouldn’t even let you snuggle on his lap during work hours and after work as he initially did to compensate for the lack of attention, he’s exhausted, wanting nothing but to rest, falling asleep the minute he lays under the covers and waking up at the earliest hour, while you’re still sound asleep. It almost seems as though he’s pushing you away, prioritizing work over you. You couldn’t handle the fire burning in your chest, the heavy lump in your throat being difficult to swallow, and you’re suddenly warm, heating up with every passing moment as different emotions tug at your heart all at once. Anger, sadness, loneliness, greed. Would work be the reason your love story comes to an end? Your palms were so sweaty you could barely grip on the door handle, wiping your hands on your skirt before trying again, the difference barely noticeable so you just had to resort to your elbow to push the door handle down.
Crying out loud, the door shut right behind you, your personal space encouraging you to finally shed those tears your eyes spent all day fighting back. Pushing through taking off your shoes, you paused, contemplating whether to place your shoes neatly on the rack, like Kakashi preferred, or to just leave them there, since you were technically no longer in a relationship with him, the thought of hearing his voice again, but to scold you, made you quietly wince as you bent over to place your shoes on the rack. The emotional or physical desire to even be in his presence still stung your chest like a scolding hot brand and to train your heart to hurt less, you hoped he’d stay at work all night like he usually did, putting your cell phone on flight mode to shut out the noise of the world and human relations. Heading straight for your bedroom, a shower was out of the question, your emotions draining you enough to save that for another day. Taking off your heavy clothing, you crumbled it all up and shoved it in a hiding place so he wouldn’t complain about that either. Slipping on your comfort pajama dress, you pull down the cover and blanket, organizing all your stuffies to surround you, crawling into the cozy snug space you created, your favorite soft pakuun stuffy held tightly against your chest. Slumber quickly crept up on you, sparing you from any further thoughts about your “husband”.
By the time Kakashi returned home he felt rather exhausted, disappointed but not surprised, to find the house dark and cold, not even a feint whiff off food in the air. His mouth watered and his tummy grumbled at thought of some creamy mash potatoes and the savory oxtail you always perfected. “Shit”, he mumbled to himself, dropping his face into his hands. He forgot about you again. “Y/N…”. Ignoring the loud cries of his empty stomach, he now had the mission to check on you, softly calling your name as he moved through the house. Finally reaching the bedroom, he gently opened the door. Kakashi froze, surrounded and cuddling your stuffies, you were fast asleep, an offensively large amount of space left for him to sleep. The scene felt so uninviting, no room at all for him to hold you. Suddenly, it hit him like an avalanche, his chest tightening as he lost his breathe, his lungs forcing him to take a deep breathe before he’d suffocate. Work has just been too busy. A sudden urge to throw up forced him to bend over, his hands resting on his knees as he focused on taking deep breaths. He had been turning you away every single time you asked for his company. “No baby…”, mindful of your sleep, he whispered, guilt tugging at his heart as he slowly straightened up. He didn’t feel like a shower either, neither did he the day before, but what would one more day do?
Tumblr media
“Y/N, I’m so sorry baby”, he whispered, blinking away the tears stinging his eyes. “I should go take a shower”, he mumbled, overwhelmed with what steps he should take next. Maybe a shower would help him deal with the mess in his head. As the water ran down his sore body, he thought he felt a warm hand touch his back, whipping his head around with so much hope in his heart, but once again, it was just his imagination. “Why should she come in here?”, he huffed to himself, yearning for your touch now. He fucked up. He knew it, and he hated himself for it.
Carefully slipping under the covers, Kakashi began gently removing a few of your stuffies, attempting to make some space for him to hold you. “Cmon Melody, hey Squishy move, you too Dumbo”, he quietly spoke to himself as he successfully threw them into plushy basket. Swallowing, he nervously placed his arm around you, your knees against your chest making it too tight, but he forcefully moved your knees, refusing to sleep another night without you in his arms. The movements woke you, and all of a sudden the warmth of his body against your back was all too much to bear. At first, you thought you felt your stuffies pressing against you just right, but when they began moving your eyes shot wide open. Gently, you tugged at the arm wrapped around you, attempting to remove it when you felt a warm kiss pressing against your neck, and you felt so uncomfortable, your mind having trained itself to not deserve such warm and gentle gestures. Trying to cover the very intense discomfort you felt, you gently turned, Kakashi finally getting the message when you began to push at his chest. “Oh, you’re okay?” The urge to scream had never hit you this hard. But you resisted. “I don’t think you actually care”, you said, your throat quickly tightening up. “I don’t feel like you care about me anymore. Please don’t touch me”. You had never felt so relieved to be under the dim light, your faces barely recognizable to one another. It made it easier for you to turn around and scoot closer to the edge. “Baby, what’s going on?”, Kakashi asked, mentally slapping himself for asking such an ignorant question. That’s not what he meant. “Leave me alone”, you squeaked, your shaky voice barely audible as tears began falling down your chubby cheeks, every atom in your being begging you to see rage yourself from him. You could no longer stand to sleep beside him. It was too painful of a reminder of the soft, warm and inviting love you once had.
“Y/n, baby, I’m sorry”, Kakashi started, but was only met with silence. The silence was a little harsher than a harsh answer would’ve actually been, he felt, an intense sensation building up in chest, forcing him to take another breath. He new what this feeling was, it’s just that he hadn’t felt this way in a long time. And to be honest with himself, he stopped feeling that way after he had committed himself to you. Your love was so gentle, caring, considerate and the list could go on as he reflected on his feelings, the ceiling growing darker and darker as he stared straight at it, limply laying on his back. Is it really worth it?
Kakashi was alone. Again. In his room, blood all over his hands up to his elbows, dripping down to the bedspread. He had never felt this kind of fear, emptiness and loneliness in a hot minute. The feeling was awfully nostalgic, but not in the fond and happy way. His stomach dropped, when he felt the weight on his lap, he felt so cold and empty, as though every drop of blood in his body had been drained right out him, too afraid to acknowledge the weight on his lap. He could smell her. Rin. And he shot up, the room still dark. “Fuck!”, he sighed, Another fucking nightmare. He looked down at his hands, before looking over to your side, where were you to hold him in your arms, and gently wipe his hands for him with those lightly scented wipes of yours, and kiss them, and rub your cheek against his open palmed, to tell him how much you loved them. To reassure him that you’d never abandon him, and that he didn’t actually kill his best friend. You weren’t there, let alone in the bed beside him.
He looked over at the time. 7:28 a.m. Work was so tough, he slept hard. As steam from the boiling hot water running out the bathroom tap filled the air, he began washing his hands, he knew this was bad, you’re the one that helped him break the habit, he was relapsing, slowly becoming the broken hearted, lonely, hopeless Kakashi he has been before meeting you. He hated it. Every last feeling, so much so that he wanted to scream and break everything in the room, but he had to get the blood off of his hands first. The imaginary blood that haunted him for so long. It hurt so much, his hands burning, turning hot red as he scrubbed them as bed as he could, a whimper leaving his chest, followed by a tear. What was the point of all of this? The village, being a Hokage, protecting people, status. What was the point of all that shit if he lost you. Was work really worth it? Was being the Hokage worth losing his light and love. His everything, his baby…you.
“NO!”, he screamed, “NO! NO! NO!”. Quickly , he shut off the water, oblivious to the skin on his hands and arms slowly swelling and blistering as he dashed out of the bedroom. Maybe you were still home. Even he didn’t know why he froze, when he dashed into the living room to see you putting on your leg warmers. You weren’t gone. You were still here, he still had the chance to fix things, it was now or never. Without a care, you continued to fix your leg warmers, leaning forward to reach for your beanie on the coffee table, ignoring his presence despite his sudden entrance. “I’m resigning as Hokage. Tsunade will probably be forced to take position again with Shikamaru by her side. She will hate me for it, the entire village might hate me for it, but I can take that. That’s fine. I just can’t handle having you hate me”, his voice breaking as he could no longer fight the lump in his throat, tears running down his face again. Now you were frozen, finally paying him mind, your dark brown eyes looking up into his black ones for the first time in months. You’re so beautiful , he thought. Kakashi on the other end, looked a damn mess. His eyes puffy and a little red, tears running down his cheeks, feint whimpering and hiccuping as he tried to calm himself down from crying. You didn’t know he was crying until you looked at him. The angry red blotches on his arms and hands forced you to stand up. “Kakashi!”, you panicked, rushing to stand in front of him, but he fell to his knees and wrapped his arms around your waist, crying into your tummy. You didn’t even realize the tears freely streaming down your cheeks as you cried too, just as messy as Kakashi was, trying to process exactly what he said. He’s resigning? He can’t just do that.
The two of you now sat on the couch, Kakashi’s arms wrapped tightly around you, his face buried into your neck as you gently rubbed some aloe Vera you’d been saving on his hands, the sensation cold and very relieving. “You always make things right”, Kakashi managed to say, still coming down from the violent crying. Confused, you remained silent, still trying to process exactly what the actual fuck was happening. After 6 difficult months of training and beating your mind and body into accepting the death of your marriage, your husband was suddenly telling you he would quite to be with you forever. You weren’t sure if that’s what you needed to hear or not, you just knew he spoke the words you’d always longed to hear, but you thought he valued his title so much that giving it up to be with you was out of the question. The same man who made you feel like nothing, was now making you feel like you were more important than something like being a Hokage. And for some reason, you were angry. You still freshly hurt. Now this. You remained silent.
“I took you for granted Y/N”, Kakashi spoke, his voice shaky from the overwhelming emotions he was experiencing. “I took you for granted, but you’re so special. You’re too p-precious. Being the Hokage is not worth losing you. That w-would be like like trading gold for dirt, I’ve been so blind and stupid. You’re the real treasure. Frankly, I don’t care what the consequences are. The whole world can burn down for all I care, you’re the real treasure here. Only a f-fool would dare risk losing you. Ple—please, pretty p-please, please find it in your heart to forgive this fool. This fool certainly doesn’t deserve you, but I’ll be damned if i ever let you slip out of my hands. I’m so s-sorry baby. I love you more than anything, you’re more important , please, don’t walk away”.
His arms wrapped around you so tight, your neck and cheek wet with his tears and yours, as you both cried together, and turning around, you needed to throw your arms around him too. “Kakashi”…

To the endless annoyance of your father and your sister, you spent the next day or two at Ichiraku being hardly more than useless. But what was the alternative?! Kakashi’s words continued to bounce around your head on an endless repeat.
I love you…I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to tell you…I've been sure for a while, but I was just afraid of—well, a lot, honestly. But, I love you.
I love you, Y/N.
Really, how could you be expected to focus on ramen orders after hearing that?!
“Hey Y/N,” Ayame smirked, “if you wipe that same spot for much longer, you’re gonna wear a hole in the counter.”
“Huh?” Blinking rapidly, you looked up to see your sister giggling to herself, and your father standing behind her, shaking his head with his arms crossed. “Oh, I…”
“No excuses Y/N,” your dad grumbled. “There’s plenty more to do before the lunch rush.”
Embarrassed, you tucked your chin down and got back to cleaning your way down the countertop. You tried to get a hold on your daydreams, but it was difficult when your work was so monotonous. Still, you didn’t want to annoy your father long enough to hear his thoughts on your distracted state of mind.
Ayame was a bit more understanding, recognizing that goofy blissful look on your face. But that didn't mean she would spare you from her own brand of torture. She conspiratorially leaned in to make sure your father wouldn’t overhear. “You haven’t been this far gone since you first saw Kakashi without his mask,” she snickered. “No wait, I think it was after you first saw him completely nak—”
“Shut up!” you hissed. “Can't you just be normal for once in your life??”
“Not until you spill. What happened??”
“Later,” you responded through clenched teeth.
“But now is perfect,” she whined. “There's no one here.”
“I told you; later.”
“Come on Y/N, tell—”
“Shut up Ayame, or I won't tell you anything.”
“Oh like you even want to keep it a secret,” she scoffed. “I’m sure you’re dying to brag all about it, so just do it already.”
You flicked your dishrag at her, causing her to step backward with a yelp. Your father looked up from the pot of broth with a disapproving look, and you quickly looked around for anything to serve as a diversion before you got an earful.
A little way down the road, you spotted the pale pink hair of Team 7’s resident kunoichi. “Sakura!” you shouted and waved her over. True, having one of Kakashi’s students join the party wasn’t exactly the best way to get your mind off the silver-haired sensei, but you had to work with what you had.
She looked a bit dejected as she made her way to the ramen stand, but you didn’t register it; choosing instead to keep talking in her direction so that your meddlesome family members were effectively boxed out. “I haven't seen you in a while!” you beamed as she neared the counter. “Come to think of it, I haven't seen your teammates either. I don't think Naruto's gone this long without Ichiraku since he was born,” you laughed. “So, where are he and Sasuke hiding?”
Sakura’s eyes filled with tears before she even tried to respond. “S-S-Sasuke,” she sniffled. “He…He…”
She looked ready to hyperventilate. Your heart sank as all the worst possibilities flashed through your mind, the abrupt mood change nearly knocking you off your feet. You ran around the counter and knelt down to throw your arms around her. “Shhh, it’ll be okay. Just take a deep breath.”
Sakura cried into your shoulder for a few minutes, taking huge gulps of air. “S-Sasuke r-r-ran away! To join Orochimaru!”
“He what?!” It didn’t even feel possible. Last you heard, he was still being monitored in the hospital after Lady Tsunade healed him. “When?!”
“Just the other night!” she wailed. “I tried to stop him but I couldn't and Lady Tsunade sent Naruto out with Shikamaru and some of the others and they're supposed to bring Sasuke back but what if they can’t get him to come home?! Sasuke can't join Orochimaru, he just can't!”
“He won't.” You hugged her closer and tried to reassure her.
“Sasuke hasn't been acting like himself ever since the chūnin exams. He told me to stay out of it but I shouldn't have listened. Kakashi-sensei said he would fix everything but he wasn't here and now…I don't know what's gonna happen! I might never see him again!”
You leaned back to look at her, giving her a supportive smile. “It’s gonna be alright. Come here. Let’s get you something to eat, okay?” You guided the girl to sit. “Kakashi will be back soon, and he won't leave Naruto and the others to handle it on their own.”
Sakura continued to sniffle as you put your hand on her shoulder. “But it's already been so long,” she whispered. “What if Sensei can't track Sasuke anymore?”
“Impossible,” you answered confidently, squeezing her shoulder. “Your sensei wouldn't let anything stop him from reaching you three when you need him.”
“WHAT?! Genin after Sasuke?”
Kakashi felt weak, his hands going numb and his vision blurring. He thought his heart might come straight up his throat, expelled onto Tsunade's desk.
“What choice did I have?” Tsunade argued. “You know how things are.”
Sasuke defecting, and Naruto being sent out to retrieve him. It was the worst possible thing that could have happened.
And it’s all my fault.
Tsunade’s voice softened a little when she spoke again. “I did all I could to give them a decent chance of success.”
Decent?! Kakashi gripped the edge of the desk tight enough for his knuckles to turn a blinding white. Tsunade's idea of “decent” meant nothing to him. She didn't know Naruto and Sasuke well enough to understand just how serious this was. She didn't see the way those two fought on the roof; the way Sasuke glared daggers at Naruto, how determined he was to push himself in the name of revenge, and how little he cared about anyone he might hurt along the way, so far as it got him closer to his goal.
Sasuke wanted to be stronger, and Orochimaru had given him a taste of instant strength with that curse mark. The seal wasn't strong enough.
If Shikamaru’s team manages to catch up to Sasuke…
His body refused to wait even a second longer. Kakashi swiftly turned on his heel, heading straight for the door.
“Now hold on!” Tsunade barked, waggling an S-ranked scroll. “You've already got your next mission assignment!”
“Yeah, well…” His voice was cold and dismissive when he responded. “I’ll be right back.”
Kakashi hurried directly to the village gates, stopping in the archway and slicing open the pad of his thumb. “Summoning jutsu!” His eight ninken appeared in a puff of smoke, all eager to learn whether this was a recreational visit, or something more serious. Kakashi didn’t leave them wondering.
“Scatter,” he immediately ordered. “Search for the scents of Sasuke and Naruto. Call out for me the moment you find them.”
“Right.”
The dogs tore off, fanning out in eight separate blurs to cover more ground. Kakashi was grateful that his hounds recognized the urgency, despite not knowing all the details. They would find the boys quickly; he still had a chance to stop them. But until he heard the signal, all that Kakashi could do was wait. Wait, and torment himself.
I was so naïve. So selfish. I chose not to see how serious that fight was back at the hospital. I cut my lecture short with Sasuke just so I could see Y/N again. What the hell have I been doing?!
They really might kill each other.
Distantly, Kakashi heard Bull’s low howl. He narrowed his eye to focus on the direction of the sound before tearing his way through the dense trees surrounding the village.
Please, let me make it in time!
It was nearly a full 24 hours before you heard anything else. Twenty-four tense, stressful, anxiety-inducing hours. All you had to go on was gossip. Word was beginning to spread about the team of genin led by a newly-promoted chūnin dispatched to collect the most recent rogue Uchiha. Eventually, someone reported that the boy’s sensei had also gone to collect him.
You were so worried you couldn't think straight. Poor Sasuke, confused and angry enough to run away. Poor Naruto, chasing after his lost friend. Poor Kakashi, running right back out there after finishing a mission. Poor Sakura, sidelined while the rest of her team was in danger.
You didn't think it could get any worse—until you heard that Kakashi had returned and was currently in the hospital, but no one could confirm anything about Naruto or Sasuke.
Or any of the other boys, for that matter.
When you went to the hospital, the medical ninja refused to give you any information. It wasn't until Shizune walked by and recognized you that you were finally allowed to see Kakashi.
You ran into the room, finding Kakashi sitting on the edge of the bed. The medics had treated him for some exhaustion, but he didn’t seem to have any injuries that required bandages. His hands were flat in his lap, palms up. He didn’t look at you when you entered; he just kept staring at his hands.
“Where are they? Are they hurt?!”
“…It’s only Naruto,” he answered quietly. “Sasuke nearly killed him.”
You slowly walked toward him. “So…so he…”
“He joined Orochimaru.” Kakashi’s voice was broken, angry, and haunted; somehow both flat and overwhelmed at the same time.
Your body moved on its own, taking steps so quickly toward him that you were nearly tripping over yourself. “Oh Gods, Kakashi…” You threw your arms around him to hold him and try to offer him comfort, but he was as immovable as stone.
“I was too late. It’s my fault.”
“No,” you gently argued, leaning back to look at his face. “This is not your fault.”
He laughed; a hollow chuckle that made the hair on the back of your neck stand up. “Who else could it have been?”
“Orochimaru,” you answered sternly. “He manipulated Sasuke—”
“Because I let him,” Kakashi seethed. “I knew Sasuke was struggling, but I didn’t support him enough. I didn’t do anything. I left him vulnerable. It’s my fault Orochimaru was able to manipulate him.” He balled his hands into tight fists, his arms rigid. “And it’s my fault that Sasuke and Naruto got into that fight.”
“Kakashi, that isn’t true.”
“Yes. It is!” he shouted, making you jump. He finally looked at you, but you immediately wished he hadn’t. The look in his eye was positively wild. Rage made it pierce into you with an intensity you thought was only possible with his Sharingan.
“Don't try to placate me. You have no idea what you're talking about,” he spat. “And how could you? You think that slinging ramen in a ninja village gives you even a clue of what being a shinobi entails?”
The contempt in his voice gutted you. “Kakashi, stop it!” you cried, surprising even yourself. You’d never raised your voice to him, but then again, he’d never made you feel like you needed to. He had never spoken to you like this; so belittling and condescending. He was suddenly acting like the cold-hearted man everyone insisted he was. And untrue as you knew that to be, right now, it was difficult to separate the Kakashi you knew from this patronizing version in front of you.
You couldn’t believe it, but you were afraid of him.
“Please,” you started again, swallowing the anxiety creeping up your throat. “Just stop. Why are you talking to me like this?”
“Because the last thing I need is to put up with some oblivious civilian who acts like they know better than I do!”
Your heart was lodged in your throat. You tried to look past his rage—you knew just how deeply he was affected when it came to the people he cared about in danger. But the pain was too intense.
He didn’t need you.
Of course he didn’t. He was Kakashi Hatake. He was more than capable of looking out for himself, and he’d proven that since he was a child. Obviously, he didn’t need you in that respect. But all the times he’d kissed you and looked at you like you were the only thing keeping him alive? When he grasped for you in the dark after a nightmare?
When he had told you, in no uncertain terms, that he needed you?
Well, now, he didn’t.
“I was…just worried about you.”
“What a waste,” he scoffed. “I don’t need you to worry about me. Just leave me alone.”
Your mouth opened in a number of false starts, unsure of how to talk to this Kakashi. He was igniting old insecurities that you swore to yourself you'd never fall victim to again. Instead, you wanted to fight back—to hurl the deepest-cutting insults at him. You wanted to call him callous, heartless, cold-blooded. But more than anything, you wanted to call him a liar.
But what good would that do?
You kept reminding yourself: you know him. You know what he’s doing; self-isolating and pushing you away from some idiotic—no, too angry—some well-intentioned yet completely unnecessary urge to protect you. From himself. As if this were his fault. As if anything had ever been his fault.
This isn’t intentional. He’s just scared.
Of course he was scared. But that didn’t make it fair that he was taking it out on you; speaking to you like that and saying such hurtful things. But if you knew anything, you knew Kakashi didn’t truly mean any of it. The only thing that was probably true was that he wanted to be alone right now. But still, you wished he would let you help him through this; whatever that meant. It didn’t feel right to walk away.
“I don’t want to leave you.”
“What don't you understand?!” he barked. “I don’t want you here. I want you as far away from me as possible.”
Oh.
He didn’t need you; he didn’t even want you anymore.
Kakashi couldn’t have hurt you more if he’d physically attacked. He sounded serious, but forced. Labored, like he had to physically push the words out. He endured only a few seconds of your stunned silence before he abruptly stood from the bed. “Fine. If you won’t leave, then I will.”
“Wait!”
But he was gone, already off the bed and out the window faster than you could follow. You were unsteady on your feet, hesitating in a few seconds of confusion and disbelief before you clumsily staggered to the window and clutched the sill, frantically looking for him in every direction.
“Kakashi?!”
Your voice carried on the wind, but no answer came back to you. Your wrists bent painfully as you tried to lean out, desperate for even a chance to see him or get a clue of where he was headed. In this mood, Kakashi could only do himself harm, blaming himself for Sasuke and Naruto and everyone else who had been out there. You trembled as you considered all the possible ways he would let this weigh him down.
The thoughts running through your mind were more than enough to pull another raw scream from your throat. “KAKASHI!”
Two medic-nins rushed into the room. “What happened?”
“He just…he…” He told me to leave him alone. He told me he wanted me me to get as far away from him as possible.  “He left.”
“What!?”
“Out the window.”
You tried not to cry as they pried you away from the window. “Damn Hatake,” one of them grumbled. “So arrogant.”
You whipped around with fury in your eyes. “Don’t talk about him like that.”
“He shouldn’t have left without our okay,” the medic challenged you. “He always does things like this.”
“And he didn’t even wait for word on his student’s condition,” the other responded.
“What’s going on?” Shizune’s voice carried from the doorway. You turned to see her standing against the jamb, probably well aware of the situation.
“Kakashi took off,” the medic-nin dismissively shrugged.
You were about ready to really lay into this guy before Shizune stepped in and put her hand on your shoulder. “Y/N, Naruto can have visitors now. Why don’t you go see him, and I’ll handle things here?”
“O-okay.”
She led you to the door. You were reluctant to go, but there was really no reason to stay. Kakashi certainly wasn’t coming back.
“It’ll be okay,” Shizune smiled encouragingly.
“But he’s still exhausted and—”
“Kakashi will be okay,” she repeated definitively. “He never really stays in the hospital as long as he should anyways. He knows how to take care of himself.”
His words from earlier replayed through your mind. I don’t need you to worry about me.
“You’re right.” You wiped the moisture from your eyes and nodded. “How is Naruto?”
“He’ll be okay too,” she promised. “He just needs to take it easy a while. But I’m sure he’ll be happy to see you. Shikamaru was already on his way.” She gave you his room number and urged you down the hall. “Go on. I’ll handle these guys.”
“Thank you, Shizune.”
You kept your head down as you walked, fighting off your emotions. The last thing you wanted was to feel angry at Kakashi. But you were so shaken, it was hard not to be angry. In so few words, he had cut you to your core, and you felt exposed and vulnerable. Your steps were uneasy, your legs unsteady until they finally failed you. You gasped in a desperate breath as you stopped, collapsing against the hallway wall and hugging yourself close. It was only a second before your body started sliding down the wall, sobs roiling in your chest.
When your butt finally hit the floor, you bit down on your hand to muffle an insistent cry. Frustration and worry clashed in your brain. Kakashi was acting so strange. Well, maybe not strange. Depends who you ask. But he’d definitely never been like that with you, and the way he had so easily slipped into that heartless persona had left you struggling to keep up.
You just wanted to help him. But how, when he wouldn’t even talk to you?
With a deep breath, you stood from your position on the floor. You probably hadn’t been there for more than a minute, but you were embarrassed all the same. You didn’t have time for breaking down in the hallway.
Kakashi could take care of himself, and he wasn’t the only person important to you that would be hurting right now.
You ducked into the bathroom and splashed a little cold water on your face. Your irises were ringed with red, but it was nothing that couldn’t be solved by just breathing. The cold water calmed the puffiness around your eyes and helped your pulse to slow. After just a minute or two, you felt ready to move on and check on Naruto. He must be devastated.
Naruto’s room was nearly on the other side of the hospital. You took a corner so quickly, you nearly crashed into the new Hokage.
“Lady Hokage!”
“Y/N, right?” She asked. It was the first time you’d met her, and you were too distracted by how intimidatingly pretty she was to ask how she recognized you. Thankfully, she grinned and recognized your unasked question. “Shizune told me where that bottle of sake came from. I suppose I owe you a thanks.”
“Oh…right.” You’d forgotten all about your little thank-you-for-healing-my-boyfriend gift. It seemed almost embarrassing now. “No, don’t worry about it.”
“So where are you headed in such a hurry?”
“T-to check on Naruto, ma’am.”
“What a coincidence—so am I. Want to walk together?”
“Oh! Um, sure!” You fell into step next to her on your way to the stairwell. “Do you know how he is?”
“Naruto? I haven’t seen him myself yet. I’ve heard he’s got some nasty wounds, but I've already seen him push through some tough stuff with a smile on his face. Still, it was a serious mission I sent him on, and I want to make sure he’s doing alright. Plus, I’m sure he’ll be glad to hear that his friends all pulled through.”
You just nodded, following along until you and the Hokage made it to the door of Naruto’s room. But before you reached it, you saw a familiar figure hesitating by the door.
“Sakura?”
Her face looked even worse than yours had in the restroom a minute ago. She quickly wiped at her cheeks with the back of her hand and tried to put on a brave face.
“Ah, so you’re Sakura Haruno,” Tsunade noted. “Are you here to visit the patient?”
“Um, y-yes.”
Tsunade looked between you and Sakura before sighing an amused huff. “News sure travels fast around here.”
You put your hand on Sakura’s shoulder in quiet support. “Come in when you're ready. There’s no rush.”
Sakura nodded, shifting her shoulders forward as she almost took a step. You patted her shoulder before going in, but she followed right on your tail, with Lady Tsunade only a step behind her.
Inside the room, Naruto and Shikamaru looked to be in the middle of a pretty serious conversation. But they both looked to the door to see who was entering, and Naruto immediately smiled. “Y/N! Hey!” His eyes swept to the side, his face falling a bit at who was beside you.
Sakura spoke first. “Naruto…”
Silence filled the room. The young girl didn’t say anything else, and Naruto didn’t respond to her. He looked shell-shocked, almost fearful of what Sakura might say next. When she let out a small sound, he cast his eyes down to the blanket, looking almost as tortured as Kakashi had.
“I heard you were badly wounded,” Tsunade observed, “But you look well enough to me.”
“Sakura, I’m…” Naruto started, “I’m sorry.”
“…Wh-what are you apologizing for?” she nervously snickered, walking to the window. Her face was awkwardly scrunched up in a forced smile. “You and your kooky antics. What are we gonna do with you? Seriously, you look like a mummy.”
“I’m sorry, I—”
“You know, you really should keep the curtain open,” she interrupted him. “See how gorgeous it is out there?”
You saw Shikamaru look at her with a mixture of pity and exasperation.
“Sakura!” Naruto insisted, raising his voice and commanding the attention of the whole room. “I…I will keep my promise. It’s…it’s the promise of a lifetime. I meant what I said.”
“It’s okay Naruto,” she quietly answered. “Just forget it, okay?”
Shikamaru groaned in annoyance. “Sakura, he’s—”
“You remember,” Naruto continued, addressing only Sakura. “It’s like I always say. I never go back on my word. ‘Cause that’s my shinobi way.”
Shikamaru and Lady Tsunade both offered tiny, encouraging smiles to the rambunctious genin. Sakura’s eyebrows turned up as tears started to shine on the surface of her eyes. She looked at Naruto for a minute before turning toward the door.
“Naruto…I…all I did was cry for help.” She took a steadying breath as she started walking purposefully toward the door. “I just cried and reached out, and put everything on you.” She paused in the doorway, her hand resting on the edge of the door. “Naruto, I’m sorry.”
All eyes in the room locked onto Sakura. You’d certainly never heard her apologize to Naruto before, and it seemed that no one else had either.
“You might need to wait a while,” Sakura continued, “but next time…I’m coming with you!”
Looking around the room, you weren’t sure how to feel. Shikamaru seemed cautious and slightly skeptical, but overall uninterested. Lady Tsunade regarded Sakura with curiosity and a small knowing smile. But then Naruto beamed that gigantic grin that never failed to make you feel like you were staring directly into the sun. They were all so determined, as if Naruto weren’t currently bandaged over his entire body. Meanwhile, Kakashi seemed like he was carrying the despair for all of them. The emotional whiplash was making you feel crazy.
Maybe I do have no idea what it means to be a shinobi.

What are we?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing : Kakashi X y/n
Format : Short drabble fic
Tumblr media
"Y/n we are outnumbered..". Kakashi whispered under his breath as his eyes scanned from one tree to another. To a normal person everything would seem ordinary but only a trained Ninja like Kakashi knew about the dangers lurking between the branches of the dense trees.
"Congratulations Kakashi you can count! I know we are outnumbered but it's us. If there's anyone who could do it, it's us". You whispered back to him. You knew why was he pointing out the obvious. It wasn't because he was unsure of his capabilities of defeating the 20 enemy ninjas, it was a cakewalk for him. He was pointing it out because he was worried about you. This wasn't your first mission with him. Heck this wasn't even your 25th mission with him, but on every mission Kakashi would go the extra step to safeguard you before eliminating the threat. You hated that he didn't think you were capable enough. You wanted to prove yourself.
Us . . . Kakashi liked the sound of that. He knew you meant that you were teammates and that you work exceptionally well together but he wished it could mean something more. He sighed and focused his gaze on on of the trees, "Alright then...". He saw the twinkle in your eye and slight upward curve of your lips as you grabbed your kunai and winked at him before jumping down from your branch. Kakashi sighed and took out his Kunai and followed you.
"Told you we could do it". You winked at him wiping the gunk from blade. "Mmhmmm". He nodded his head as he cleaned off his weapon. "Everything okay Hatake?". You asked tilting your head the side. Kakashi's grip on his weapon tightened and in a flash he turned towards your and threw the Kunai at your direction. Before you could process what happened you heard a loud groan behind you. With dropped shoulders your turned around and saw one of the enemies lying in a pool of blood. "Ahhh fuck man! I missed that one!". You threw your hands in the air as Kakashi walked towards you. He was standing a little too closer than usual and your heart was beating a little faster than usual. "He could have hurt you". You gulped as his voice dropped an octave indicating the seriousness of his concern. "I know ... Ha ha stupid me...but hey...you got him! So yay!". You blabbered on trying to hide how flustered you were. You thought he was angry at you as he should be but then he gently pressed his palm to the side of your face and leaned a little closer. "You okay y/n?". You could have sworn on your life this man was going to give you a heartattack. You immediately took a step back and shook your head trying to shake off the thoughts from your head. "Yeah. Fine. Perfect. Absolutely fine".
"Alright then...". Kakashi turned around to get his bag as his hand that touched your face twitched by his side. His own face was red under the mask as he pulled it down to take a few quick breaths before pulling it up once again. Maybe Gai was right.... Maybe he did feel something...
I haven't posted something in such a long time so I hope you liked it! 💖

Light in the Dark | Kakashi x F!Reader.
Tumblr media
Sitting on his bed, you hugged him from behind and put a small kiss on his naked shoulder. You could feel how his body tensed. He broke your embrace and stand up leaving you there.
You smiled sadly and shook your head.
“Is this the part where you kick me out?” you said while Kakashi dressed without facing you.
You swear to keep your distance from him since he only wants you to warm his bed. But he is strong, once again you’ve failed to resist Kakashi’s actions.
He didn’t respond. That’s your answer.
You get out of bed and started to put your clothes back on. Angry with him and with yourself. This is the last time, you said to yourself once again.
Already dressed, you took your purse and walk off Kakashi’s bedroom and apartment leaving him alone in the dark of his room. You didn’t know but, he was punching himself for hurting you again. He tried to stop looking for you on the nights when he was feeling alone and tormented. Your love was the only thing that can warm his cold heart during his darkest hours but he know that he can’t give you what you wanted and needed in return.
.
Anbu's life was taking a toll on him. He was still young but in his life, he had seen and lived things that not anybody could bear.
You were the light in the dark of his life but for everything he has been through he couldn’t risk losing you too, that’s why he keeps pushing you away.
You always were by his side when he come back from a mission injured, you healed him, and took care of him, always with a smile on your face.
“I love you, Kakashi” you said one night after making love with him.
When you said those words, they made him realize that this thing that you had going on was serious and scared him to death because everything he touches, dies. And he doesn't want to lose you because he loved you too.
