the pervasive sense of longing in kingdom hearts, whether it’s through aqua missing terra and ventus for their friendship, axel missing roxas because he helped him fill what he thought was nothing left, organisation xiii continually searching for a purpose in their supposed unpurposeful existence, heartless longing for a heart, riku longing for adventure and acceptance, sora longing to understand his own connections with the keyblade and to just be able to be at home somewhere when he can never really be, kairi longing for promises to be honored, namine longing for freedom, etc etc.

Since Sora, Riku, Neku and Beat have Dream Eater partners, I thought it would be fun to give these characters their own Dream Eaters as well.

I even gave Sora and Riku Grid Dream Eaters to go with their Grid forms as a bonus. With Esmeralda in KH3D while her four-legged friend was absent from it, I thought it would be fun to place her with the goat Dream Eater, Yoggy Ram.

But this comparison works so well, because monsters would be afraid of the Slayer!

And in Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, there are these creatures called Dream Eaters (that are dreams made flesh, really). And they're separated into two categories: Nightmares and Spirits (the Spirits being like good dreams, pretty much). Somehow during Dream Drop Distance, Riku became Sora's Dream Eater (a Spirit/good dream), and it makes sense that the Nightmares would be afraid of him, really. Also because he's an amazing Keyblade wielder. (Though it should be mentioned that Riku doesn't know he's a Dream Eater here, he's just delivering a Badass Boast. But this is the first moment that it's hinted at to the player.)

You know, I have to imagine if the rest of the TWEWY cast and such DO exist in the Kingdom Hearts universe in some form, KH!Minamimoto was pissed to hear some duck used Zettaflare before he could.

This assumes KH!Minamimoto is unerased, of course, but let’s assume he is, if we ever DO see them back again it’ll almost certainly be Neo looks so he can hang out with the Wicked Twisters.

Kingdom Hearts 3D

It’s been a while since I have been able to visit the second hand game store. Boy am I glad I popped in today. Look what they had:

I already have the remaster of this game, but I really wanted to play it in its original form and see what it would have been like to play when it first came out. It was also complete with booklets and AR cards.

Look how much thought they put into the packaging as well. It’s so adorable.

Can’t wait to start collecting dream eaters again and experience this game on original hardware.

I only have to find a copy of Re:Coded now hehe.

Not including Destiny Island, Radiant Garden, or Sorcerer's Tower as those locations only have cutscenes as far as I remember. Since I haven't played the game a second time since the first playthrough nearly 10 years ago I actually had to look up the world names that are unique to this game.
