Hi!! I was wondering if you can show me the Khux/ khdr color style? I know it has already been explained to me but I'm a visual learner (the one that needs to see the examples instead of reading it.) I hope you don't mind, thank you... :)

Here's something I threw together real fast. Hope this help.

I would like to thank Roboloid and the KHInsider staff where all the images in this tutorial come from.

[ID : the title of the picture is in light tuquoise on a dark green banner says in all caps coloring khx-ux and in lower caps under it by Keykidpili slash PilichainArtAndMemes. The first block of text caption reads Hair and head gear usually have the greatest number of shades  since it’s the most visible part of the sprite. Paragraph break. Note stripe lines can be done by picking a very dark color and lowering the opacity of the layer. This block is flanked a breakdown of the different shades of orange used on the left for the pumpkin head accessory on the left and for a bob cut on the right. The number 1 beside it. The left one uses five different shades and the right one seven. A text caption on the bottom right of the pumpkin head reads sneaky highlight. The number 2 is beside it.

The second block of text captions reads Right limb parts are slightly darker. In many cases you can copy paste the left parts and add a shading layer with lowered opacity over it. On the left is a cropped picture of green, yellow and white shoes with a breakdown of the two different shades of green for the left and right feet. The number 3 is written on the left.

The last block of text reads If your outfit is very details or has many base colors, use less shades for clarity. Gameplay showsthe sprites small so zoom out to check if the design isn’t too busy or if details don’t get lost. See figures 4, 5, 6 and 7. Paragraph break. Also pure black as a color is valid! On the left is a breakdown of the shades of khaki overalls outfit, there are three shades of cream and four shades of green hightlighted. The number 4 is written on the left. Happy 10th Birthday to Kingdom Hearts X [chi] !

Ten years of cryptic mysteries, ten years of beautiful sprite work, ten years of fun with other players across the world and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it. The choice of the character’s gears lies in my desire for a keykid version of Sephiroth’s KH outfit and thus I picked Cloud to match.

Kingdom Hearts X Worlds Revamp, my true anniversary project, remains in progress. As of the Player slots raffle in the story previews fake screenshots, it will take place by late September at most. More details on the submission rules about this will be told around that time.

Cloud’s outfit parts aside from the chest  piece, the Chirithy plush and Sephiroth’s wing can be found on the Roboloid KHUX assets website. I’m eternally grateful for its existence.

I do not own any of the characters presented here. Please do not repost on other websites.

Let's pretend I was on time because I did not had it marked on my calendar this time but wanted to do something. I am borrowing Roadie's player design again because I am fond of how it makes Player look.

I'm very of two minds when it comes to Missing-Link. On the one hand, Dark Road was really well written and had a lot of fun character interactions and interesting ideas. I did enjoy meeting new characters in a new era and getting to know them and how they maybe reflect current characters; especially when it's done competently like Dark Road (and not fully hampered by being a drip-feed mobile game like Union Cross).

With the Kingdom Hearts team getting a more varied selection of writers (after 10 years of only Oka and Nomura), I am very optimistic toward the games having a fresh feeling at least, much like Dark Road. What they presented and talked about so far is super intriguing, I love how independent this era of time is even from Union Cross and Dark Road, I am super excited to meet new characters and learn about new concepts (especially with one of the FFXIV writers being responsible for the script this time) ...

... but on the other hand, the fact that this is a freemium mobile game - much like Union Cross - leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I understand that this is probably something out of the creative teams control and that they no longer have a handheld market to fall back on instead, but still in terms of predatory gameplay, gameplay experience and ESPECIALLY game archival, it rings a lot of alarm bells.

Chi and Union Cross were allowed to run for 8 years or so, but Square has been much more cutthroat with its mobile titles recently (see: First Soldier). I am worried about getting left with an incomplete experience a year after launch. Hopefully, Nomura has enough sway to still get his story out there somehow (and to eventually remake Chi, Dark Road and Missing-Link as console experiences)

I made a whole ass language, script and alphabet for my kingdom hearts fanfic just on impulse oopsie.
