Sebardagni Headcanon/AU Idea #001 - Post-Apocalyptic Sickfic AU

It’s no secret the last 7 months or so have not been great for me, and I haven’t been able to write for various reasons, since my health has been bad.

I’m hoping that the second half of 2024 will show some improvement but in the time being I’ve been trying to imagine my fave trio: Sebardagni in various sickfic scenarios

Like I had one in mind that’s not well formulated bc my brain is not working well enough for more than vague shapes of ideas, but it’s post-apocalyptic.

I don’t like that genre generally because as a chronically ill disabled person, I know how absolutely fucked I would be if society collapsed.

However, one of my fave independent novels I ever read featured this concept, and one of the characters had a chronic lung disease so not having regular access to medicine made his life much harder, and put enormous strain on his husband and family.

So I imagined a scenario in which Sebastian, Agni, and Bard have settled in a remote mountain cabin because it’s removed from some of the dangers of the cities, the air is cleaner for Sebastian to breathe a little easier, and there is plenty of food and resources.

But the problem is that they really should move on, but they can’t travel, not with Sebastian sick, and they’re running out of places to scavenge for medicine. One of them always has to stay behind with Sebastian, so only one can go out at a time.

Bard had been increasingly having to go away for days or even weeks at a stretch, going farther and farther from their home base in an attempt to find medicine for Sebastian and other supplies they can’t make or grow themselves.

It makes Sebastian guilty and anxious that one day Bard won’t come back and it’ll be his fault, and it frustrates him that he can’t help more, or that his partners have to sacrifice so much for him. More than once he’s told them to leave him behind, but they both insist they’d rather die with him than abandon him.

I imagined a particular scene where Sebastian’s health has taken a sharp downturn while Agni has been waiting for Bard to return, and it’s getting to be long enough he’s worried maybe this will be the day Bard never comes home.

But he does, all smiles. He didn’t find medicine, at least not what they’d hoped to find, but he did find a treasure trove of things that were under a collapsed shelf in an asian market a few towns over.

Matcha powder, and a lot of it.

Matcha is highly caffeinated, and it’s related to another molecule that’s often used to treat asthma and other lung conditions, because it helps open the airways. Drinking a lot of caffeine can thus help your breathing a little bit. It’s not medicine, but it definitely helps in a pinch.

I imagine Agni grows what he can for Sebastian, various herbs and plants like marijuana that can help him, and despite the world ending and the challenges of their new lives, ultimately they’re happy.

I think it could be a really lovely story, but I doubt I’ll ever be able to write it.

I know I’ve already asked you a few things about inspo so I’ll ask this— before WG, did you know a lot about the Victorian period, or did you have to research? What do you do/use for your research? What is your process/approach for researching? 💕

I think the best answer is- yes and yes. 😅

Growing up, we couldn't afford cable (so we had to use those classic rabbit ear antennas), which meant that a majority of the TV I watched were free local channels, the main one being PBS. I grew up watching programs like Masterpiece Theater, Masterpiece Mystery, and Wishbone, which included a lot of retellings of classical literature. And, when I was a bit older, it expanded to watching historical documentaries about the era as well. Victorian and Regency Era stories have been a part of my life since I was a child and that's continued all the way through my adulthood and the era in general has always been one that's fascinated me. Before writing any works involving the Victorian Era, I've also done research on the time period from sources on Pinterest in relation to the works I've enjoy from/about that time (because I'm a nerd like that 😅). So, even before I started writing Wicked Game, I had accumulated a lot of knowledge about the general feel, rules, and aesthetic of the era.

However, the knowledge I needed to write Wicked Game was specifics. I know that it's fanfiction and that Yana has technically created a Victorian AU with Kuro, but I still wanted to create a story that was as true to the time that I could make it while still honoring Yana's source material. So I've researched a ton of things, too. From colloquialisms to specific holiday customs, servant hierarchy and wages to the layers of clothing (and the order in which they were worn), and traditional food to popular firearm/weapon developers (and what firearms of the time were capable of doing)- if the information is out there, I've probably researched it, lol.

When it comes to my research, I typically use the trusty ol' Google, especially for more obscure things I want to know. I've come across some good sources which I reference regularly.

I've also been adoring all of the historically accurate correction posts for Kuro @chibimyumi has been doing, too!

And, to make sure the dialogue sounds correct (and not too modern), occasionally I will go back and watch a favorite period piece or two of mine, just to reacquaint myself with how they spoke.

My research process is both organized and chaotic, lol. If I know there's a big detail (such as servant's duties/hierarchy) that's going to be included, I research it before I even get to the chapter. For smaller items, such as popular brands of that time or slang, I'll do it on the fly as I need to.

Thank you so much for this ask! It ended up being a more involved answer than I thought it would be, but that goes to show how much research goes into writing an accurate story (though I know you already know that 😊). But thank you again, I always enjoy your asks! 😘💕

hell yes!!!! Pardon me while I write literally the most lengthy, unnecessary explanation for this. 

I guess it can now be an AU?? Sentient body/flight suits AU or something like that? Anyway I’ve been thinking about this all day so here you go!

Shiro and Black are still very hesitant about each other and generally skirt around emotional stuff; both because Shiro is wary about Zarkon’s control and if he’s really cut out to be a leader and also because the Black lion doesn’t like to take shit from no one and Shiro’s making demands and commands when he’s stressed and panicked (cough cough season 2 anyone). Shiro and Black just escalate the issue and they can get a pretty rough. 

Maybe Black forces Shiro to his knees or presses him onto the ground in a presenting position. Black just needs Shiro to know his place here and while Shiro is their paladin, Shiro must be respectful. Black never touches without purpose, it’s nothing like gentle rubs on his sides or arms in comfort, it’s always a squeeze on his cock that lets him know that he’s theirs. 

Black doesn’t use any form of gagging or pressure on Shiro’s throat with the suit because that causes unnecessary panic and distress that Shiro simply does not need to be presented with. But Black will, however, make Shiro feel like he’s getting a baseball bat shoved into his ass. Black is no adversary to rough and dominating sensations. 

Black will typically have to retrain Shiro’s arms and that’s about it, he’s free to squirm with his legs and such but He’s not allowed to get use of his arms as they’re either pinned to his sides (like the armor attaches to the armor on his hips, cuffing him) or they’re locked behind his back with his wrists to elbows. 

Keith and Red also bounce off each other and just rile the other up. But less in an antagonistic, provocative way and more so in a ‘You won’t do that’ or ‘I dare you’ kind of tension. Hot, passionate tension and bonding moments yall ;)

Red and Keith have a strong and trusting bond, honestly who gets sucked out into space for their lion??? Red has deemed Keith worthy of being their paladin and as a consequence is very protective. 

Red probably wouldn’t force Keith into something (bc he’s so prone to anger and getting upset Red may have the smallest notion that if they push too much Keith will abandon them :( ) But I can definitely see Keith and Red getting heated during battle. They both get a little excited and Red gets all touchy feely and Keith is sort of okay with it but he’s trying to concentrate on defeating Galra. 

Red would have Keith bent over the pilot’s seat with his knees spread apart and his hands stuck together either in front of him or behind. Either way he’s trapped with his chin propped on the back of the seat and moaning against it as the Red lion works him open and playing with his nipples

Keith likes to egg the Red lion on too if he’s feeling particularly aching for something rough. He’ll growl and complain and goad the Red lion “is that all you’ve got?” until the Red lion has to completely restrain Keith lest he squirm free. 

Hunk and Yellow have a more….marriage-like relationship? They are super sweet to each other and their trust is rock solid. Hunk is very open and trusting with his lion and Yellow is very respective of that! So mostly Yellow wouldn’t made advances on Hunk unless he made it known that he was okay with it. 

But of course in all marriages they have spats and arguments, it’s normal. And when Yellow gets testy, be prepared to face the wrath. Just like Hunk, Yellow is sweet and loving and tender but blunt and emotional. And when they get upset, watch out.

Yellow tends to have the Red lion’s testy personality at times and when that happens, Hunk is always on the receiving end of it. Not because Yellow is upset with their paladin, but because Hunk openly receives criticism or complaints willingly and with understanding. 

the Yellow lion touches Hunk on his back or on his chest a lot. Firm strokes or kneading that can leave bruises sometimes. Yellow also restrains Hunk entirely, like Blue with Lance. Hunk has absolutely no ability to move other than to maybe turn his head if he’s not being muzzled/gagged. 

Yellow always makes sure Hunk is alright before continuing, even when upset. But Hunk also downplays a lot of things, lets Yellow get away with some things and actions that he’s not entirely down for but Yellow doesn’t hurt him so he’s not going to stop his lion for it.

and of course we don’t need Lance and Blue’s but I’m going to add them anyway!!!!

Blue is almost like a wildcard. Blue and Lance literally fit like two puzzle pieces and it’s fantastic. They have one of the strongest bonds in Voltron and Blue is prideful of that. Blue picks up on Lance tendencies and can sometimes brag to the other lions about how wonderful their paladin is and it sends the other lions into sulking fits. Which leads to makeup sexy times, obviously. 

Blue and Lance are all-in lovers. Blue does their best to read Lance and read into his thoughts to understand what he wants and needs. 

Blue does this in the fic too, constantly monitoring Lance’s biological functions and the few emotions that he experiences and tries to gauge actions and such as a result of those. Of course this can lead to misunderstandings (like in the fic) when Lance is stressed and upset but doesn’t want to talk about it and Blue really just wants Lance to go back to being happy and relaxed. 

Queue stress sex, Blue doing the fucking most. Lance gets gagged and muzzled because he’ll blabber and complain and Blue doesn’t care to be chatted to death. Blue also is an avid lover of orgasms, oh gosh. 

Blue loves how pliant and calm Lance gets after one and Blue can share that feeling and it gets addicting, almost. Blue is pretty guilty of getting Lance super sensitive and on the brink of passing out many times because he can’t tell Blue to stop giving him orgasms, damnit. 

Lance though never holds anything against Blue. He never gets angry at them and he’s always coming back anyway. And after he learns that he just needs to talk with Blue about some limits and stuff, the sexy times become less one-sided and more like a team effort to help Lance destress. 

Lance is mostly put into positions on his back or standing up, so that he’s always aware of his surroundings (until Blue decides, sensory deprivation!) Keeping their paladin oriented helps Blue keep Lance in check, in a way.

Reading: Introduction to Social Work (An Advocacy-Based Profession) and every learning theory centered scholarly article under the sun i’m so bored please help me. A Writer’s Guide to Fairies, Witches, and Vampires From Fairy Tales and Lore by Ty Hulse, a local author in my city. I went to a fairy tale panel he ran and got a signed book from him. It’s not a novel. More of an informative writing on fantastical creatures in various cultures and their personalities, with cited sources, and how to use that lore to create your very own. It’s an interesting read so far. I’ve always been a fan of fairy tales and folklore, and spent my free electives studying them, so this is more of a personal interest piece for me. I’m also rereading Rust & Stardust because I loved chapter 8 sm

3 random things to make me happy: 1) Doodling. I’m not a very good artist, but I sometimes spend hours at a time just drawing the same thing over and over, exploring shapes and styles. I end up not liking most of the things that I come up with when I get tired, but the process is what makes me happy. Just sitting down, listening to music and going ape on a page with no direction. Just vibes. I’m really happy that people on here like my doodles too. It’s been such a positive experience posting here. <3 2) Going to bed knowing that I won’t be woken up by an alarm in the morning. 3) Interacting with people I vibe with, or even just seeing them around, either online or in person.

Sebard(agni) AU idea #3456:

A modern AU inspired by the Japanese series 「初恋」(Hatsukoi, aka First Love).

The series is about two people who are high school sweethearts but lose touch after one of them has an accident and literally forgets about the years they knew one another. Then, ~20 years later, they reconnect partly bc the one who didn’t lose their memory could never forget their first love.

(This series slayed me and so this will be long.)

Setting: US, Modern AU

Pairing: Sebard(agni)

Bard would be Harumichi. He joined the military straight out of high school because it had always been his dream to be a pilot, He was a bit of a slacker in high school and didn’t plan to go to college, but he happened to see Seb at a ACT test and it was love at first sight. So he studied his butt off so he could go to the same school as Seb. After Seb loses memory of their relationship, he decides to go into the military anyway, partly to distract himself from his heartbreak, and also bc he never really fit in at college. Ultimately, he leaves the military and gets work as a security guard. Bard’s dated causally over the years, and even has a good friend and long-time fuck buddy, Agni (who may live with him; not sure yet), but he’s never once gotten over Seb. He compares everyone he’s ever been with to him (of any gender), and when they inevitably come up short, finds an excuse to break things off or keep things casual. Poor man has it bad.

Seb would be Yae, the one who lost their memory. He had a brilliant future before he was injured and lost his memory and had to drop out of school. An abusive marriage that ended badly. I suspect he was first told the injury was an accident but later found out it was caused by his ex, Claude. Ever since he escaped him, he’s moved around a lot and changed his name. He works at a call center so he has minimum contact with the public, and although he’s happy with his life and his cat, he’s constantly on edge that Claude will find him again. He avoids most relationships of any kind, not only out of fear but also bc he never knows when he’ll have to pick up and cut all ties again.

Agni would be Bard’s best friend and fuck buddy. I think they met by chance. Bard’s brother is Deaf, so he’s fluent in ASL, and he intervened when Agni runs into some asshole hearies at a restaurant and invites him over for dinner. They hit it off and become friends. (Harumachi’s sister is Deaf in the show.) Agni understands that Bard will never love anyone else aside from Seb, and is probably the one who pushed him to reconnect with him.

I think Bard happens to get a call from Seb (bc of his job) and he has a particular vocal tic that Bard recognizes immediately. He calls him by his old name, which causes Seb to panic and hang up. He spends the next few days terrified that he’d been found and debates about quitting his job and moving again, but his cat is sick so he has to take her to the vet.

At the vet, Seb happens to run into Bard in the waiting room. Agni has a cat, but since Bard works nights, asked him to take them for him. Bard immediately recognizes Seb, but ofc Seb doesn’t know who Bard is, and they get to chatting. Seb is closed off at first, but Bard is so affable he finds himself relaxing around him, and they establish a tentative friendship. But Bard is worried about telling Seb the truth about their paths, not sure how it will affect Seb or their relationship.

I think I would end up making this a poly ship. Seb sees Agni and Bard kissing one day when he tries to show up to surprise Bard and assumes that Bard was cheating on his boyfriend, so he ghosts him. Not knowing why Seb has gone silent suddenly, Agni comes up with an over-the-top and very much not Bard kind of romantic gesture to win Seb back. It makes Seb laugh so much it gives Bard the opportunity to talk with him and get the misunderstanding fixed. He then invites Seb to meet Agni. To Agni’s shock, Seb seems to know how to sign too, and they end up hitting it off.

There would definitely be angst and whump in this. Claude still sees Seb as “his,” and I’m sure that will cause issues, and ofc the “love triangle” element. But there’s a lot of room for “fated love” elements. Like Seb always buying the same brand of cigarettes (either he doesn’t smoke at all or those aren’t the kind he prefers) bc they comfort him and he doesn’t know why. Later, he finds out that Bard smokes that brand. 🥺

Anyway, I’ve been thinking about this AU for a couple weeks months now, and unlike some of my other AU ideas, I would LOVE to bring this one to life. The show is so well written and I love how it wove the diff timelines and love stories together so perfectly. It’s been awhile since I wrote a romance story and I think this would be a great one.

Sebard(agni) AU idea #2667:

An AU inspired by the TV series The Dead Files, a show in which a retired homicide detective and a medium work together to investigate various hauntings to uncover who and what may have happened there.

Bard would be Steve, the detective - a guy who genuinely cares for others, will hold someone’s hand if they’re scared to enter a particular room, and reassure people and kids that they’ll help them

Seb would be Amy, the medium, who can see and speak to the dead (and other paranormal entities), and who advises their clients on what they can do (if they can) to make their home or business safe again

Agni would be Amy’s assistant, who helps her by clearing the area of anything that may influence her, and also supports her and films her as they go through the building/area

I think it would be a lot of fun and different. But I don’t have any plans to write this as of now. It’s just an idea.

Today, the bleeding heart is still seen as a symbol of love and compassion. The delicate petals and soft colors are a reminder of the power of love. The bleeding heart flower is also associated with charity and giving back to the community.
