Truly, we lived the live.

First, despite picking Pogo as the main character, Yun was the MVP of the second/true ending run of the Dominion of Hate; He not only made up for his whiffing HPD against Headhunter by sacrificing himself and buying time for the rest of the party (Oboromaru & Sundown)'s skills, but I suspect that part of the reason Sin of Odio went down so quickly is because Yun proved himself to be a menace in terms of damage. (maybe. I dunno how the mechanics of the fight work) Shifu, Hong and Lei are smiling in Heaven/the Chinese afterlife.

Also, considering how the original/normal ending went, it was nice for Oersted to get some degree of closure, even if he had to die knowing how badly he fucked everything up. I'd say Oersted needs a hug after all the shit he went through, but Pogo gave him one, so...

Also also, I think I remember reading that Oersted's dub VA is a Shakesphere/stage play actor. Yeah, that sounds about right.

(Your FF fun fact of the night: The structure of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years was inspired by Live A Live. Makes sense, same director and all).

Now I'll survive and have control and power at any expense", and then deciding to make him a set of personality traits in New Data, who will only ever be perceived as Data, and interacted with as Data, and will only experience positive emotions by literally being placed in Data...

...feels a bit off the mark???

Picard season 3 wrote a perfect gothic horror ending for Lore, but then presents it as an heartfelt, emotional beat that just doesn't work for the setup they created.
