Been going through old stuff and keep running into my things for the Ask Radzuli blog I had a while back. I decided to do a little sketch because its fun to reminisce!

Still wonder why I did that to her hair, and i’m laughing at how inconsistent her design was. It was meant to be just an Au Lapis, but she’s so different she might as well be a Lapis Gemsona.

What sparked your interest to start this ask blog/comic series?

OH BOY!It all started with some OC ask blogs I had a while ago (oddly enough that are still up, no I won’t give links.) Until I decided on a whim to make a Lapis Radzuli ask blog. Basically Lapis with a RADICAL and TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL attitude! It was made for memes, but I crept my way into more story related stuff as limited as it was. It was really whenever I did an AU for Steven!Tale (Undertale steven universe AU) I decided I wanted to make a Story Driven Ask blog. so as previously stated on this blog before, I had an ask blog by the same name about steven being born on homeworld! It was around end of season 2 to season 3-ish. I was an avid Rose = Pink Diamond believer at the time. So it was going to revolve around Yellow Diamond keeping him a secret raising him with the other quartz soldiers, but also raising him to one day fill Pink’s shoes. The only ones who knew about it were going to be Peridot, Jasper and eventually Lapis. Jasper was going to be a mentor to steven and Peridot was to teach him to be royalty. I had to end the series because of how wrong everything turned out to be about the diamonds and the attitudes of the characters. (Also I was convinced I was wrong about Pink = Rose) Basically no more ask blogs. Until about a month before A Single Pale Rose. I stumbled on my old Homeworld!Steven sketches and wanted to do more with it again. So I was originally going to have Steven live on the ZOO with the other quartzes as a “Defect” This AU basically being where Pink was never shattered by rose and she obeyed her Diamond. Rose falling in love with a Human zoo greg and having steven. The other Quartz Gems covered for Rose until steven was born. It was kinda like a weird version of the Wrong Prediction AU that Boring Artist has except I didnt think Rose was Pink lmao. This all changed when A Single Pale Rose came out and I had fuel to make this blog again, except with this concept! I tested the waters with the original image I created on my main blog, and decided to roll with it. And here we are! It was nice to share my story lmao. Thanks for asking Alan!

Also, please don’t get the wrong idea. I didn’t come back because of the anons telling me to. I came back because I finally have inspiration to do this again. I got a shit ton of anon messages that were really awful. Lapis radzuli is back and will be for a while! I’m going to actually update frequently for once, but art will be mostly hand drawn until I can fix my tablet, or get my new slate that is coming in. Also steventale is dead, pls stop asking.
