I am sitting here with pencil and paper begging you for a list of The Things.

ALRIGHT LETS DO THIS

I haven't gotten back to s3 just yet so this is just random tidbits from s1 and s2 that I noticed on this watchthrough.

This demon that gives MK the cursed meatballs in s2e8 is the only character other than Chang'e with the blue lipstick. Just an odd coincidence, not sure if it's worth reading into but a neat note anyways.

2. In s2e7 Shadowplay when MK finally fights Macaque, there's a moment where MK says "that's it!" after using gold vision on the lantern, which always struck me as an odd line. It just felt out of place. This is the first watchthrough where I noticed that, immediately after that line, his eyes flash LBD blue. This is not the first time this happens, but it started in s2e5 when LBD tricked him. I think she's been in his head since that episode, so the "that's it" line isn't MK, it's LBD seeing through his eyes where another piece of her mech stew is.

3. In s2e9 MK crouches like a monkey. Very cute, makes me smile.

4. I just noticed these guys in the background of s2e2 lmao. Go lil you beat up those giants.

5. In the revenge of the spider queen mini, I think LBD gets into Wukong's head here, the way she gets into MK's and Mac's later. After this we see flashes of her vision for the world, and I think and assume Wukong saw them too.

6. s2e10, more evidence of LBD being full on in MK's head. To what end, I don't know. Maybe trying tot ake him over the way she does wukong in the finale, maybe just to mess with him. But she's in his head and rooted there.

7. s1e9, Macaque's powers seem to make MK angry? We see that resentment towards wukong at the start of the ep, but the way he acts after Mac "infects" him is...really out of character. It's basically the only time we see him angry like that.

8. s1e8 the key the mayor gives MK is LBD's. It has the skull on it, and the default shape matches her tomb. It does what he says, opens anything, but the key belongs to LBD/matches her tomb. To what end? I...don't know.

9. s2e1 I know it's probably just an animation trope but I'm choosing to pretend MK used glamor magic/shapeshifting and had no idea he did.

10. s1e5 this is the mayor in the calabash with MK, right???? No one else has hair anywhere close to that. Also we don't see the mayor until after this episode.

okay that's all i got for now but i'm just about to get into s3 again so we'll see what happens there

Are you remember I asked you if there was a possibility that the Lady bone demon was a pawn of our mysterious guest? And you said it might be a possibility. So...

So I think Mayor was created by this mystery guy. To keep an eye on the Lady bone demon. Bah! I think he even made sure she would dance to the rhythm of our mystery person's plan.

Because how is it that there were glaring differences between Mayor and Wukong when it came to body possession? Because look. Sun wukong kept fighting with lady bone demon because of course he wanted freedom. And the mayor what? Didn't he want to either? It may also be that the mayor fought at first, but eventually gave up. It might be like this. I'm not saying there's no such option.

Oooor it is that he was specifically created to be easily possessed. You never know when your supposedly loyal companion will suddenly stab you in the back because he was ordered to kill you because you would thwart his plan.

And those white eyes! Did no one notice that suddenly their general had eyes like that? Or maybe… maybe he had it like that from the very beginning? 😏

Why didn't he free his lady? Damn. He literally had the key to freeing her and instead he gave it to MK.

Why doesn't anyone mention him in season 4? Or why they didn't show what happened to him in season 3?

So, I think the Mayor was 100%, completely loyal to LBD!

I think he was someone who shared LBD's ideals, and that they grew close during LBD's time as an Ivory Lady. He came to see the flaws with the emperor he served, and chose to follow someone he thought had the world's best interest in mind, selecting her as "his lady". He wanted to help LBD and destiny create a world "no longer plagued by pain".

The difference between Wukong and the Mayor is that the Mayor was possessed willingly:

Emperor: "You! Sieze this traitor, now!" Lady Bone Demon: "You'll find your Chief of War takes his directive from me now." Emperor: "You- you've been planing this from the beginning haven't you! To work your way to the top, to overthrow me! And you *turning to the mayor*, you helped her! Traitors! Deceivers!" Lady Bone Demon: "I did not deceive you. When I came into your service, my intent was to aid in perfecting this world."

My interpretation has always been that like LBD, the Mayor worked as the Chief of War to help make the world "more perfect", or "a better place". When that wasn't the case, he had the same revelation that Azure did working under the Jade Emperor, then deciding to follow a different person of high status, aka the Lady Bone Demon (like Azure then chose to follow the Monkey King).

So quite simply, the Mayor didn't need to be controlled because he was already willing to do whatever his Lady asked of him.

When it comes to "why didn't he free his Lady if he had the key", I think part of it was that he was helping to set plans into motion. LBD was a believer in patience, and that destiny would fulfill itself "soon enough" (though she becomes distinctly impatient by the end). He didn't need to take action immediately—the pieces had to come together first.

LBD needed to collect very powerful items to create her mech, one of which was from the celestial realm itself. LBD never worked directly, always using some pawn to do it for her. She used Spider Queen and her henchmen, she used DBK, she used MK, she used Macaque, she used SWK—it's a long list. So, it's not surprising that she didn't just have the Mayor come and free her (assuming the Mayor even knew where she was before DBK found her), and it's not surprising that she didn't just bust out of her prison guns a-blazing. She worked in far subtler ways.

I've also totally wondered what happened to the Mayor post EYD! The answer to that is either it's not important, or it's not important yet—who knows, maybe he's in prison with Yellowtusk!

But other than that, I think the Mayor was just a guy who was loyal to the end.

We know that the chief had no memory of their old life, but maybe they could still have muscle memory from their old training? like some villager touches their shoulder and they automatically put him in a headlock (I hope that's the correct term), they didn't know they could do that but they assume that LBD "taught" them that

Oh yes, definitely.

They would think of themselves as simply being a quick learner somehow, but yeah, they have definitely learned many many skills beforehand.

For example, yes, they would definitely have many fighting skills and defense techniques practically engrained in their head. Some things simply cannot be forgotten. It is like how they have always known what blood even back before they had even seen it while working under LBD. They just knew, and they never could ever figure out why.

So yeah, a few villagers have definitely been at the receiving end of their spontaneity. But hey, in the end, they were 'created by Lady Bone', right? Perhaps she had just built these skills into their mind right from the beginning.

Why the Newer Villians in Lego Monkie are more scarier

So we all know that in the start of Season 4 MK said:

MK: "What if this is the part in our hero's journeys where things get a little bit darker."

And yea, im pretty sure we can all agree witht that-

But then, while i was writing an analysis/theory video on the villians of lmk, i reailzed something.

The newer villians are more "scarier and darker" because of two things:

How they interact with our heroes

Their colour symbolism and its influence on feel of the show

How they intereact with our heros

Now when im talking about "newer villians" im specifically talking about:

LBD and the mayor

The ink demons

The Brotherhood

The hooded guy from the underworld

First of all theese villians are much more smarter with how they plan things out.

While past villians like DBK and Spider Queen are hurrying to do anything to defeat our main characthers, our newer threaths plan things out more.

They are built up more slowly, but that also means that they can suddenly come out of the shadows and attack our heroes where they thought they were safe, and end up terryifing both for the characthers and us watching.

Hell, we havent even truly met the hooded guy yet, but he has already managed to give MK and idenity chrisis, kill Wukong for a period of time and introduce us to the ink demons, who are scary enough of themselves.

And in that scene where LBD was tormenting MK for the first time, she was moving slower, but she still scared the living shit out of everyone. This is probaly because she put herself so much apart from the normally high paste show we are used to, which just felt so wrong.

That they also have time to grow in the shadows, means they can also learn a lot about our main characthers, which leads to one of their best but scairest skills, manipulation.

For an example, LBD may be dead, but she still haunts the show because of her genius but terrifying manipulation she planted like a diseasce in MK and the rest of the show.

Their colour symbolism and its influence on the feel of the show

Villians like DBK, Spider Queen and even Macaque, though meant to be evil, they still match very well with the feel of the show.

This is because, like the rest of the show, they still are shown in bright colours.

But again with our newer villians, they have more blue, grey and/ or a more monotone look, again putting them apart from the rest.

The colour symbolism, both positive and negative, and influence speaks enough for itself

Blue: Melancholy, sad, visdom, truth, effectiv

Grey: Mysteries, lonlieness, death, deressing

3. I have more way more things to say about these antagonists, more specifically LBD and that hooded guy. So i am currently, as i mentioned earlier, writing an analysis/ theory video about them. Its acutally about a quiestion thats been bugging me for a while:

If LBD's goal is destiny, while the guy from the underworlds goal is chaos, two very the most opposite goals, why are they both evil?

I plan to have this video uploaded on Youtube at some point in the next week, since its sunday today, so look out for that if you are interested. I will make a post about it, when i upload it.

Could you do a scenario: Where it takes place after the events of the LBD? Wukong hasn’t been himself and keeps pushing himself a lot more. The reader notices this and confront him about it.  He keeps denying that their is anything wrong.  But when the reader keeps nagging him, maybe he like a snaps at them and than says something he doesn’t mean? and then eventually he feels really bad and  apologizes to the reader, and just says that he feels like he wasn’t strong enough to protect them? Sorry if this is to long at all.😅

Something was wrong with your boyfriend. He’s been acting weird ever since the defeat of The Lady Bone Demon. At first, it wasn’t obvious. It was subtle shivers and looks at you, that you never noticed. Then he started to put himself in harm’s way. Pushing himself despite the fact that he was still recovering from being possessed.

The whole group was worried. And you being a very concerned partner, kept inquiring about what was bothering your boyfriend. But every time, he pushed you away. He was getting more and more distant. You’ve noticed the bags underneath his eyes and the way his eyes were slightly red.

Which led you to the position you were in at the moment.

“Love?”

Your concerned voice rung through the air like a bittersweet melody. Wukong winced as he kept his back to you. His fur was damped around his eyes, he didn’t want for you to see him like this. He felt weak, and pathetic.

“Love, please answer me.”

He stayed silent as he couldn’t look at you. Cause every time he does, he’s reminded of that gruesome nightmare. Of you covered in blood,gasping for air as you laid in his arms. He bites back a sob as the feeling of helpless and pain threatened to show. He was holding back everything but he couldn’t help but be annoyed at The Lady Bone Demon. She may be dead but she still haunted his head.

“Love—“

His annoyance reached its peak as he remembered how the demon would mock him using that pet name of yours. He turned around quickly, causing you to stumble back. His fur puffed up as his tail lashed around.

“Gods can you shut up! You’re so annoying!”

In that moment he saw the demon but soon that vision burned as he realized who he was actually talking to. His peaches, shaking and on the verge of tears. He opened his mouth to speak but she left the house in a heartbeat. He couldn’t help but feel as if someone had ripped his heart out. He couldn’t speak and could barely breathe.

Oh, what had he done.

You hastily entered your room. You had tears streaming down your face as your body shook while you sobbed. You held onto the wall as you couldn’t hold back the tears anymore. You cried. Your heart was screaming in pain that you’ve never felt before. This wasn’t physical pain but it was rather mental and emotional pain. It hurt far worse than any wound you’ve ever received.

What had you done wrong? You understood that you were possibly being a little pushy but you had just been so concerned about him. He had just been possessed by a demon. He had to be suffering mentally. And even if he was immortal, he shouldn’t push himself too far.

Although, he hadn’t expected for him to lash out at you. It stung. A lot. You couldn’t help but look outside. It was nearly dawn. Fuck. You felt your gut twist. You had taken the long route home when you were in your desperate want to get as far away from him as possible. That alone and taken you an hour.

You push yourself off the wall as you walk into your bedroom. You fall onto the bed limply, burying your face into one of the pillows. Unknowingly causing you to fall asleep.

Not even a three hours later however, you awoke to a knock at your window. Peeking from the pillow, you can see a frantic Wukong holding something in his hands. You sit up and you eyes finally register what he’s holding. It was a bag holding food from your favorite restaurant and a banquet of your favorite flowers.

Deciding to hear him out, you get up and opened your window. In a flash he wrapped his arms around you, the food and flowers held by his tail. He hugged you as if you would fade away from existence.

“Peaches, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean anything I said.”

His words came out so fast that you didn’t hear whatever else he said. He looked up at you with regret and sorrow in his eyes. He held you close to his chest as he kept muttering apologies. His heart was breaking at the sight of your red eyes, he hadn’t meant to make you cry.

“Wukong,”He perked up at your voice, “I’ll forgive you, if you tell me what’s going on.”

His heart sank at your words. But he didn’t want to lose you, the best thing in his life. So he agreed. He sets the food and flowers on your dresser before you both sat down on the bed. Well, you say down. He was laying down with his head buried into your stomach.

“I’ve been having nightmares, ever since what happened. They all follow the same pattern. That demon possessing me and you dying by my hands. She would mock me by using the pet name you always call me. So when I yelled at you, I thought I was yelling at her.”

He looked up at her with remorse as he spoke. Your heart ache as you wondered why he didn’t tell you this. But you understood, it was an habit of his that you both were working on. For reasons such as this.

“And it just made me feel powerless. As if I’m too weak to protect you. After all, I had harmed you when I was possessed. I was too weak to resist that demon’s hold.”

It all made sense now. The nightmares were stemming from guilt. You rain your fingers through his fur soothingly as you spoke.

“Oh Love, that wasn’t your fault though. You tried your best.”

“Well my best wasn’t good enough,” he mutters before you pull him up so that you were eye level.

“You’ve saved me countless times. Not matter what, I trust that you’ll always save me if I’m in trouble.”

You kissed his nose before smiling softly at him. His eyes brightened as he smiled at you. He hugs you tightly once more, his tail wagging as he nuzzled your cheek.

“Now, let’s eat and then we can cuddle.”

“Yes, peaches.”

Yea so I made a corpse bride au....

I WAS going to work on another shenanigans in space piece but then i found those brushes and an old sketch and decided to just wing it.

So Mk=Emily and Red Son=Victor

In all honesty, the brushes were an absolute joy to work with and I really look forward to using them in future!

I know technically speaking, it was the wedding rehearsal so RS shouldn't be in his wedding outfit but I couldn't resist

No glasses for this lad. Not on his wedding. I refuse.

The little letter on both their outfits is a character that means togetherness I believe, commonly used in weddings.

Patterns on the bottom for mountains and such since his family has always kinda lived on mountains (heck, they had one of their very on in jttw)

Not much else to say about the guy, I am really pleased with his design :)

His color pallette was difficult to work with, I ended up color picking from lbd, possessed wukong and Emily herself

I wanted to go for more of a clouds theme and stars (flowers of course cause, wedding. Duh) and had to resist bringing him out cause it is a plot point that all of mk's jewels were stolen.

Also no headband. I don't know if he'd wear it to his wedding but in this au, he doesn't for the time being.

Cultural references!

If anyone remembers that tumblr thread bout mulan's drag name 'hua ping' being slang for a twink this is similar.

Another slang for gayness is cut sleeve (there's a whole ass story bout a gay emperor and his boyfriend) but anyways since Emily's arm was rotting away there, I thought it appropriate. (Tied in with that rip up to his thigh in the robe, I think you get the picture lol)

For anyone drawing a hanfu or traditional Chinese clothing in general, it's meant to be folded right over left (see red son for reference),the other way round is for the dead. And I thought that be a fun detail as well as the white robe being used for the dead as opposed to the red one for celebration

anyway that's all I can think of for now, I'm going to bed before I get yelled at :D

Hello! I was wondering when you have time, can I request wukong,macaque,nezha and Mk with an Angst to fluff with their s/o who got possessed in the fight with Lbd but then un-possessed s/o leaving them injured bc the attacks didn’t do as much damage as she thought?

I think I understand what's being asked but if I got it completely wrong please correct me! Also this is going to be Headcanons because it makes more sense for my brain ;-;

Wukong, Macaque, Nezha, and MK x S/O who was previously possessed by LBD (Angst to Fluff Romantic HC's)

Wukong - a wreck. Absolutely furious at himself for letting this happen to you, how could he be so stupid and let you be possessed by his enemy? Even worse, she had abandoned using you as her host and you were hurt! Probably trying ridiculously hard to keep up a positive front but he is breaking down on the inside. After it's all over he takes you back to Flower Fruit and gives you the best healing magic he can find. Lots of attention, and you'll have to reassure him you're okay and that it's not his fault because he 10000% thinks it is. He loves you very deeply, so the thought of losing you is just super overwhelming for him. He stays as close as you'll allow him to be while you recover, and is at your beck and call. This is a perfect time for you to either exploit this and get whatever you want OR coax him into doing self care with you. Or both :)

Macaque - beyond pissed. If anyone should've gotten hurt, it should've been him! You shouldn't have been anywhere close to this situation, and there you were being used as her host! As soon as he sees your discarded body he gets you someplace safe until the fight is over, and then he takes you home to help you recover. He might pretend to be a bit mad at you for having been involved but just know he doesn't really mean it, what he means is that he is utterly relieved you're okay. Once he has you set up with whatever medical supplies are needed, a drink, and a warm meal, he cuddles up to you and keeps watch while you get better. Apologizes over and over.

MK - this poor boy DOES break down. If he had done better, if he had been stronger, he could've stopped the Lady Bone Demon before she was able to possess you! He's crying a bit as he's fighting because he knows that you're probably in so much pain, just like he was whenever she was speaking to him. The fight ends, and he's absolutely RUSHING to get you home so you can get medical attention. He doesn't leave your side, he feels like if he does then something bad will happen to you. Similar to Wukong, he will find a way to get you anything you want, because you deserve the best, especially from him. Very clingy afterwards, but if you ask him to he will back off a bit so you can breathe.

Nezha - so so so concerned. How could he have been so blind? In dealing with Wukong and getting his ass handed to him he left you vulnerable! He feels incredibly guilty like he's let you down and multiple times throughout recovery he asks if you honestly want to keep being with him. He gets you to Heaven's best doctors, and urges you not to lift a finger until you're completely healed. He's super protective and may overreact to small things, just make grabby hands at him and he'll soften up and give you cuddles or whatever it is that you want.
