Ianthe Tridentarius Propaganda Post
shes tall pale and has no ass. she has the ability to manipulate her fat distribution so she chooses to look like a wet cat. everybody forgets about her because her sister is so hot, but while everyone else is fucking around and trying to figure out whose been killing people, shes been figuring out the secrets to an ancient necromantic theorem. it turns out her hot sister isnt actually a necromancer and ianthe has been doing the work of two necromancers her whole life. she regularly does cannibalism. she eats the soul of her cavalier, who nobody cares about, and becomes a saint of the king undying. her sister is deeply upset that she did not eat her. she gets her arm ripped off by one of the original states. she performs a lobotomy on one of the main protagonists because she asks her to. they have immensely homoerotic tension but its entirely one sided. she cries every night. her soup recipe amounts to burning onions on the bottom of a pot. the scene in which said main protagonists creates her an arm out of bones is the closest the series has to a sex scene. she meets the other main protagonist and says "but your fist is so large and my ass is so small". she stops god from being killed, which everybody hates. in the space between books, she has a terrible terrible no good friend ship with the main protagonist i mentioned before. i love it. they probably fucked and it involved chussy. they have friendship bracelets. she possesses the body of her dead cavalier who nobody cares about to gallavant around in. shes dangerously obsessed with her sister, who after not being eaten has been radicalised and now is a leader in an insurgent cell. she is the target of "then perish" during the epilogue. apparently in the next book she is going to do something horrible. i love her immensely. she has very few redeeming qualities. she is my ebst friend
listen. she ate a man's heart to become immortal. she is described as the shadow of her twin sister. she calls the protag a fruitcake. she will betray anyone and anything to get what she wants.
Wet Rat who sucks commits cannibalism for won her way through the lyctor olympics of the first books ate her cavalier to go to gods party swinger yatch. She has no fucking idea of what she's doing but she's slaying all day everyday, literally and figuratively. Made everyone believe that her twin sister was a super good necromancer while her sister has no powers by necromancing for her in secret. Idk she's just. She's just so.
The uglier of the supposed pair of the genius necromantic princess twins. Jk, she’s the only necromantic one she's just so good she seems like two geniuses combined, she flies under the radar, doesn't take part in gruesome lessons on powerful necromancy but just figures everything out by thinking alone, kills a dude she known her whole life the moment she learns it will give her more political and magic power, does a truly villainous monolouge when caught for that murder cause who cares about a male dying why are you so mad. Then later murders her much stronger beloved mentor the minute she's asked to gain even more power and prestige and from a princess of one planet becomes a saint and prince and military powerhouse of a divine empire, loyal only as long as her hotter twin sister is safe, truly an inspiration for all feminists everywhere

My favorite crackship that i dont ship is dussekar x cylam because. It'd probably be platonic as fuck. Dussekar hasnt seen the sun in probably a couple hundred years. Cylam this fucking loser who does nothing but create monolouges in his super cool emporium all day. They both have someone in their basement unwillingy. They are also blue. Dussekar would never drink tea. Cylam thinks coffee is whats wrong with the world and thats why he doesn't like anshine. Its cylam going out of his way to make cute little "dates" that normally end in 100s murdered and millions injured. Cylams this narcissistic god of all gods and Dussekars just some guy who wished upon a star once and got a book. Cylam visits paper robloxia at the worst moments purely to say hi to Dussekar while hes trying to talk about the future of paper robloxia with like the leaders of the state. Cylam kidnaps Dussekar to have cute little tea partys with him and one (1) time he got Dussekar coffee. Do you see where i am going with this.

FINALLY I HAVE ALL OF THESE CUNTS NAMED. i made a like 10 iterator local group [Echoing Strife] with dear mutual @arti-cat !!!!!!! its crazy !! most of them were born like yesteday so no designs but im gonna dump about them. the whole theme of their group is they're based on the echoes /their monolouges. also some ancients that are important [more info under cut]. rb and comment on my ramblings boy
Metropolis: Clawing at the 'Clouds' [senior] [he/him] Sky Islands: A Second of 'Silence' [they/them] Wall/Silent Construct: Relentless Earthly Cacophony ['Rec'] [any/all] Chimney Canopy: Three Binding 'Feathers' [he/she/aer] Shoreline: A Precipice of a 'Promise' [she/it] Shaded Citadel: Seeing Past 'Ichor' [he/him] Subterranean: Solitude of Uncovered 'Omens' [they/it] Undergrowth: [Undisclosed] 'Vex'ing Desires [he/ve] Farm Arrays: Joyful Envision of Tranquility ['Jet'] [he/him] Bitter Aerie: From the 'Depths' to the Heavens [they/any] + Ancients: A Thousand Flakes of 'Dust', One Resolute Cause [she/her] Tangled 'Kestrel', Clawing Desperately [they/she] Cacophony's Caw, 'Crows' Descend [he/him] [child] 'Cardinal' Descending from Afar [he/him] [child] 'Wrens' Hopping, Blissful Eve [she/her] [BABY]
clouds: no talk him he angy. once again one of my seniors sucks at their fucking job. theres a fire in his heart filled with cancers and poppy tarts /ref hes gonna fuck everything up as soon as shit goes wrong. he gets therapy from a cat though. go shitty lesbians go. sometimes reffered to as claw demeaningly
silence: Old Man /silly . they are the mediator and are very concerned with their younger iterators. ends up really fucking things up with the constant fighting between vex and omens [ill get to that] and vex maybe explodes them [silence has a very weak structure to begin with]. oh also silence can overhear echos. hehehehe
rec: haha dumb IDIOT gave himself the rot!!!! she kind of did it when she was young and dumb and has come to really regret it, but chooses to use the remaining time he has building a better life for the creatures around him rather than concern himself with his infection and past mistakes, much to the dismay of its fellow iterators
feathers: silly little guy!!! had a crush on one of aer techs [kestrel] and grew very close to them. maybe cried like a little bitch when she managed to sneak her kids [crow & cardinal [wren probably wasnt born yet]] down there when she couldnt find someone to babysit. imagine having an iterator be ur nini to help you with your homework . its really silly to me. Sure Hope Mass Ascension Doesn't Ruin Everything! [feathers bioengineers scugs like them to Cope. it does not help]
promise: just kind of bitter and angry. it did so much work for its city, gave up everything, all for nothing at all. just for her to be abandoned in the chase for ascension. accidentally pingpongs vex's beliefs REALLY TERRIBLY while shes just kind of awkward about it because she doesnt like omens on principle but doesnt side with vir either
ichor: funny little guy . loved by his citizens. Knew about the mass ascension before it happened but didnt tell anyone so everyone [especially feathers] is really really fucking pissed at him. oops king.
omens: def the most devoted to ascension and the problem, while also studying past civilizations and Grand Cycles. viewed mass ascension as a good thing and is happy their creators moved on. watches vex spiral in Real Time and is kind of freaked out. theyre somewhat conjoined [not as much as moon&pebbs but they share a lot of systems particularly their comms arrays] which led to lots of fighting between them Constantly only driving them deeper into hatred and resentment. theres only a certain point when omens actually becomes Scared of him, however....
vex: ohhh you mentally ill little boy. fairly normal until Dust [the leader of a very violent and large anti-ascension movement] corrupted him as his mentor. uh. ve likes to believe it was beneficial and 'enlightened' vir but really it just turned him into an angry person, especially when mass ascension happened and dust got ascended which only cemented his beliefs. fights a fuckton with omens and believes in the holiness of the cycle. very unbecoming of an iterator. sure hope he doesnt do anything terrible!
jet: built at sea, collapsed due to a great flood/tsunami before mass ascension. believed to be dead and very distant from the group, they were a source of a lot of drama. hes actually alive though! he was built with Some waterproof measures in mind so hes functioning to an extent down there. in yuri we trust [with depths]
depths: originally built as spectacle + as a lighthouse to work alongside jet, but jet collapsed before they were completeted. oops. feels very hollow and purposeless, until a messenger from the sea shows up with a pearl . otherwise depths is very distant from the group [mainly distance and poor comms] and also when trying to learn about jets clouds found it insensitive with the wound being 'too fresh' and kind of exploded on them. woops.

My thoughts on LB6 (Arc 1)
My personal thoughts on Lostbelt 6 so far as I have been timegated and am so fucking hyped to see it come to fruition. I just wanted to collect my thoughts on it in a post. Apologies for lack of images I am doing this at 2AM and I need to get my feelings down.
From start to finish, I have been *very* into fucking world building, to the point where it is its only surpassed by its amazing character arcs! But regardless, I think the writers made a really good intro to suck you in first that makes you excited to be along for the ride.
The very first meeting you get of Fairy Britain is of rapscallion exiles who don’t have anything left to lose and are practically cockroaches of society. Even so they try their best to live out the rest of their lives, even if they cut it short themselves with the introduction of a human. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if that was a metaphor for all of Fairy Britain: a peaceful land eventually doomed to fail but with the introduction of one human cascades into an even worse fate filled with pain and suffering.
I also love how differing area’s have differing politics on humans and what to do with them. Camelot and Salisbury seem intent to control humans, even if Salisbury’s leader thinks differently. (Hell, the disconnect is so much that I’m almost suspicious.) Norwich and Sheffield practically have fairies and humans side by side, although both of which is primarily motivated by an oncoming disaster. And then Gloucester is willfully feigning ignorance with neutrality, knowing that the only thing that matters is commerce. If you’re human, you’re a slave. A pet. A comrade in arms. A bargaining chip. And someone sticking through a disaster together with people.
Plus the introductions of various faeries make the world so much more lively. Especially the river fairies who lure people in with their wishes. That one in particular was really cool and made for a really good comedy bit.
And then the characters. GOD the characters. Every single main character has made a lasting impression on me, whether it be cool or immense, but intended, hatred. I especially love Castoria being fated to be this great hero but is the equivalent of throwing molotov cocktails at people. Also, at some point I noticed I didn’t know why Castoria was in the Amnesia Forest. Hm. I wonder if this is related to the crippling imposter syndrome she has over the entire Child of Prophecy thing and that it seemed like she let her entire hometown die. Sure would be bad if she tried to drown herself in amnesia so she could go back to being a regular hick! Regardless I will hype her up as much as possible and will kill everyone else in the room if they don’t cheer.
Anyways, moving on from Castoria, this is also very clearly supposed to be Mash’s time to shine and it fucking *shows*. Taking her away from Ritsuka and giving her own role to develop is so cool to see. Her absence is tangible, especially since she’s Ritsuka’s rock and they literally cannot keep themself in check without her as a support. Regardless, putting her with the scum of the earth (who aren’t true scum, just a little misguided and don’t know how to act) and making her still defend them at all costs is so good. She *is* a hero, a knight, Galahad’s very own Tam Lin to shield all that comes the way. It’s so satisfying to see her build herself back up and have something to stand for as Mash and not Chadea’s Demi-servant. (Also, I very much appreciate the buffs. Especially the np gain so i can fucking loop her np.)
And the fucking meetup with her and Ritsuka is SO FUCKING HYPE. Ritsuka, willing their command seals back (probably by sacrificing their of life force just to defy fate, i don’t think letting them know that was a thing they could do was a good idea) to triple boost a Lord Camelot is just. Fucking Incredible. Also giving THEM a monolouge not influenced by the player hit me so fucking hard because for once Ritsuka doesn’t feel like an insert MC. They’re a fully fledged maniac of their own and above everything they want to save their beloved Mash and the rest of Britain. (Granted, they never were just an insert, especially during lostbelt arc, but this takes it to a new level) And it makes it hurt all the more when Mash is taken away to Morgan. But also not to a point where the other Tam Lin know about her, at least Tristan. Very fascinating to me. Still satisfying to watch the hope drain from Guda’s eyes as their sanity plummets.
On the account of Oberon, I like him but sadly don’t have much to say about him expect REALLY loving his art and the writers making great stuff with his humor. Regardless, I like that he tries to care for Guda in his own way. Same thing with Muramasa, but with the added part of liking his like. Strict Grandpa relationship with the cast, with a soft spot for Artoria.
Comedy is also been top notch. From being owned by Artoria (which she seems a *wee* bit too excited by) to buying the Child of Prophecy (30% Chance), the writers hit home with nearly everyone. Plus, it helps a lot with getting some relief, especially after heavy hitters like the fall of Sheffield due to the Black Barrel and the loss of Tristan.
All and all, this is by far my favorite chapter by a mile. I returned from a long ass hiatus just to sink my teeth into this and by god it delivered. Glad, I came back. And, while i was mainly trying to save for someone else later… I couldn’t help myself bringing home someone who I’m told is very good!

Till our next meeting, King of the Lostbelt! I hope you’re as good as people tell!

a/n: here have a drabble from a fandom nobody seems to be active in
summary: how hikaru loves you. (nOT nsfw)
warnings/genre: fluff, none
reader pronouns: he/him
Tumblr media
hikaru loves you like he knows only he could. because to him, loving you is about the moments you live in with him and the moments you’ve already lived in with him. how could somebody else love you the same way when he’s the one walking next to you?
hikaru‘s way of loving you is walking through an empty house to find you standing outside on the balcony of your shared room, gazing out at the city lights. it’s holding out absurdly large strawberries attained from Kasanoda’s gardens for you to eat while you admire the midnight sky.
hikaru loves to hold your hand and pull you into him, hugging you close whenever he’s afraid you’ll disappear. admittedly, hikaru has a bad fear that one day you’ll leave him, or that someone else will come along and take you away. but he knows it’s okay, because your actions and words always make it clear that you’re not going to leave.
loving hikaru is a gentle nudge to his shoulder whenever he’s being just a little too clingy. it’s a reminder that he can open up to other people and not everybody is going to rob him- literally or metaphorically. it’s almost daily calls with karou when you’re on vacation and only visiting once a week once you’re back home.
it’s holding each other in early morning light. it’s throwing the curtains open to wake the other and laugh while they hiss like a vampire. it’s waking up early on occasion, and making breakfast in bed.
loving hikaru is as good as it gets.

Erets monolouge - 20/01/21
[about what tommy calling him the true king] “It really touched me cause y’know, ever since my betrayal a while ago, several months ago when you think about it, Tommy doesn't really like me. Understandably. And for him to say that he sees me as the real king, it touched my heart, a lot. Because y’know it shows forgiveness, moving on, we recognised the real enemy. Dreams manipulated me, and I might not have been privy to that, I was to blind to see it myself. I was just like, ‘dreams the one that's given me the power that i have so i'm just gonna do what he wants’ . And i didnt realise that it was fucking manipulation. He’s manipulative, he gets whatever he wants through whatever means he wants. He played us all. And I was too blind to see it. But we move on. And I'm going to maintain my position as king of the smp, I'm going to make this the best place for as many people as possible. I'm gonna make life good, we're gonna make people happy. We're gonna celebrate. If anyone tries to stop that, then we're gonna stop them. No one should have to live in fear. For the greater good. I wanted to bring wilbur back, I tried to bring wilbur back, cause hes a much better leader than I ever was. He brought people together around a cause and  thats something ive not managed to do myself. I tried to bring him back, and I hope one day he does. I really hope one day he does. Because y’know… I need him. He's great at uniting people. I know he doesn't want to come back but, I think we need him to come back in one way or another. I know he's lacking a lot of memories and realisations, and im think maybe i can put stuff in my museum to help him remember, both the good and the bad. I don't want him to have a one sided view. I want it to be true to the history of the smp. I want him to try to remember everything.”

books read in 2022: blood of elves (the witcher 1.)
i decided 2 start putting lil book reviews here bc i wanna read more but i fucking hate goodreads. and like, this is what blogs are supposed to be for arent they
i was Majorly worried about the switch from short stories to a novel, but it was suprisingly smooth! i dont know how much people who didnt read the first two understood, but to me it worked pretty well aside from the kind of weird pacing in the beginning
zapkowski continues to be funny as hell and he still writes combat scenes SO well. his dialouges still often have a talking head quality 2 them unless its solely protagonists we're well aquinted with, but its kind of funny so i dont mind
to begin with i was not sure about triss, and i still am not? she is an interesting character and her monolouge in kaer morhen was really good but im kind of iffy about her still. hope that changes in the following books. huge fan of vesemir and the other witchers though, and i really loved the relationships between ciri and everyone wintering at kaer morhen, as well as that training montage because it was cute as hell. i have many questions about the witchers' past tho. many of them. also i dont get lambert im sorry like someone please explain lambert to me
yarpen and that whole situation was, interesting to me. fantasy racism is always iffy as hell, especially considering i cant really name a single character who was described as non white except for Maybe shani?? but that was hazy as hell so i cant even be sure. i like yarpen as a character tho and his dedication to peaceful coexistence is interesting and admirable imo. im going to stay hesitant about the elf racism until i read the next book i think
jaskier being a spy and fucking sucking at it is really funny, geralt finding random ass men to verbally assault is also very funny, and im curious as to why nilfgaard is looking for ciri
i loved the bits of fantasy politics and the leaders of things meeting in secret rooms and conversing about ciri's importance and also how they should do an ethnic cleansing because i like fantasy politics, but i also think its great that ciri and consequently geralts importance is something that is very well established and exists for different but understandable reasons to different people its just yknow good writing. except for again the fantasy racism
finally yennefer and ciri bonding hours was sweet as hell, i liked it a LOT. i think hanging out ciri is actually helping yennefer as well and im sensing the beginning of ciri lesbianism maybe? which im excited for

you mentioned a while ago that you wanted to make a wonderquest rewrite - what would you change if you did end up making one and what would you keep the same?
OKAY so
No Flunkey and Lackey. I hate them, they don't exist anymore.
Maybe they can stay actually, if they had to, but I'd make it so that they lost their wonder in some sort of event that happened and that's why they're like That.
I'll focus on the second season because that one I like more am better with the characters.
Priscilla is more upset this season and more prone to snapping and getting mad, because in the original she's just mildly upset that Rama, her sister whom she loves dearly, has gone Fucking Evil
Rama's angry because Priscilla won the contest that made her the leader (??? I can't remember) of the Hall of Wonderers. She was disqualified for cheating and stealing an idea from Priscilla but she denies that she did.
Priscilla tells them that the crown is incredibly powerful and makes the wearer stronger.
That's how she got the plan. Actually the Mysterious Shadow (M.S.) had the plan and gave it to her. Priscilla points this out as a kind of "you didn't even come up with your own revenge plan, why do you think that we'd believe you'd come up with your idea" etc etc.
Rama is like, "they just gave me the time machine!!!! >:[" and throws a tantrum
The season will probably go on pretty normally, although some of the more out there beats will be toned down, and instead of Rama taking every idea for herself (because. What.), she just sabotages enough of the inventor's ideas that they give up, so the message is more "don't give up" and less "please for the love of God stop sending me stolen art trying to get into the love garden"
Also a lot of the paradoxes and hypocrisy are brought up, but out of earshot of Priscila because Everyone Is Scared Of Her But Won't Admit It™
At the end, Priscilla tells them to go back and time and stop Rama from turning evil and that's when one of our two heros™ is like. Fuck that, no way, that's wayyy unethical.
Maybe Keen has been sucking up to Priscilla this whole time and here he's like no? I like that.
In the middle of the arguing Rama appears in her time machine and is like, I'm here to do a villian monolouge
To everyone's (and no one in the audience but that's ok) surprise, Priscilla jumps up next to Rama and starts yelling at her, saying that she's a villian™ and that she should have never started inventing.
Priscilla reveals that she was MS the whole time! She was jealous of the fact that Rama was quicker at picking up inventing and was worried she might get the crown and be the leader of the hall of wonders instead of her.
Priscilla uses the crown to bring the whole fucking building down
Everyone escapes and during it Stampy saves Rama from almost dying from a pillar because idk he always seems a bit too cowardly for my taste in WQ
Outside, they see the flash that indicates that the time machine has been used. Rama slumps over and starts apologizing for her ignorance and they start to make a plan to clean up this whole mess.
But then Stampy notices a red mist appear around Rama's eyes for a second, something he recognizes as time magic.
Before he can react, Rama tears up their plans and a bright flash in front of them indicates that time travel just took place.
When they open their eyes, yep! Priscilla is there, standing next to a grinning and now very much evil Rama in front of a time machine.
Priscilla says that she went back in time and sabotaged Rama's first invention (her rocket boots which, yep, are now gone)
Now Rama idolizes Priscilla and basically does whatever she says.
After being cut off like fifteen times, Rama gets a chance to speak and starts a noticeably worse and lazier monologue than the ones she has done in the series before.
During this monologue she starts to slow down while talking about her plan and Priscilla's plan, realizing that is was Priscilla who stole her plan.
This gets her angry, and she starts yelling at her, saying that it wasn't fair that she got all the credit for something she came up with.
In a rage, she attacks the time machine, and in a flash, she's gone. (off to the Time God!)
So while Stampy and Keen quickly knock off Priscilla's crown and chase her away, Rama does some Actually Complicated Shit to become whatever they called the time police or something, showing that she is no longer lazy and is actually very intelligent.
Stampy and Keen are trying to find out where Rama came back when there's another flash and boom! There she is! Flying!! In her boots!!! That she made!!!!
She explains that she fixed the timeline and, after she's filled in, is given the crown to become the rightful leader of the hall of wonders.
Priscilla is still out there, so if you want a season three, there you go!
Actually wait maybe Priscilla fucked up Flunkey and Lackey's sense of wonder because they figured out too much
Yeah I like that lets go with that!

Thoughts on Reysabella's monolouge and why there’s always been a red light in my head about this trilogy
So, a few hours ago I made a few hysterical posts regarding the last force bond scene in Jedi the Last, among others saying I really hope it's all heading for dark!Rey. As I already mentioned, her monolouge in that scene gave me strong Isabella from Measure for Measure vibes and she's a character I really dislike. Basically the scene reestablishes Kylo as dastardly villain and Rey as an unfaltering maiden of light, which is the interpretation so many view as the right one. Regardless, the play isn't of the official Disney-LF material, so it's not like there's room for hysterics as it being an argument against reylo or bendemption. As I also wrote, the scene upset me esthetically above all. But I had to ask myself, why did it rub me the wrong way, why did it give me a sensation of a needlessly false note in an otherwise good opera? At first I told myself - as you pointed out, you dislike characters like Isabella, you're entitled to do so but don't let your preferences cloud your judgment. But then I realised something more - one of the reasons I dislike such characters is exactly having grown up on Star Wars.
What followed was a flood of realisation why ever since TFA I had this red light at the back of my head that this trilogy may break into some dramatic sh*t before the end, why interpretations of the last fb such as above were leaving me esthetically upset, why this entire trilogy, while excellently complementig the symphony the entire saga makes, seemed to me to have a... not exactly false note, but a too loud trombone? some misplaced arias? some keys that could have been better? too few instruments? those details that can make sense in the overall composition but it’s impossible to tell before the music’s over.
Tumblr media
And then it dawned on me - this trilogy is that of doubtless believing. Or rather it seems to be. And more importantly, that’s what many viewers want it to be.
Now I know that at a first glance it’s very much what Star Wars has always been about but I’d object. When the characters and themes in hitherto saga are analysed it becomes apparent that doubtlessness, feverish belief is far from being complimented, as I’ll elaborate below.
First of all, OT. Now, the political subplot of OT seems pretty doubltess, but I wouldn’t say it has always been so. Back when the movies where being aired, viewers hoped, most probably hoped very surely and well groundedly that the Rebels will win - but that’s the basic hope we all have that good triumphs, it didn’t have that vibe the sequels have to them that vanquishing evil empires is *Moriarty voice* WHAT STAR WARS DO!!! Turning to the personal plots. Luke is easily the runner up to the title of the most doubtful protagonist of all time, second only to Hamlet. He tries, not does or does not, impossible to him everything is, he can take Obi-Wan to Mos Eisley but not any further. When he goes to face Vader in RotJ he does so fully bracing the idea that he can never come back. When he goes to the Cloud City, he does so half admitting Yoda and Obi-Wan probably have a point that he’s not yet ready to face Vader - but he just can’t leave Han and Leia. Overcoming his self doubt is a great and positive step in his journey. But, it is exactly when Luke develops a sort of overconfidence in himself, up to the point of thinking he can creep up on someone at night and read their thoughts, that he fails. Leia is in many ways an opposite of Luke, she’s a very unfaltering believer, she always knows right from wrong and she’ll always fight the latter in the name of the former. And while her struggles pay off politically, sequels introduce an unpleasant concept that it came at a price of her motherhood. When her child shows himself to be not simply a ball of light, she freaks out and has her miracle working brother who magically saved their father exorcise the darkness before it lays eggs. And on the other hand, there’s Han. A self proclaimed scoundrel who’s actually the good guy, nothing short of a walking self-doubt. Sadly, his is the case where too much doubt brought failure. But neither was he fervently believing in anything else.
Turning to PT. In terms of politics, it’s obvious prequels are far from hero worship. Liberty dies in thunderous applause, Palpatine becomes emperor according to every democratic rule, jedi asses are dragged like hell. Doubts galore. What about characters? Anakin is a serial monofidelist. First he fervently believes in the jedi order, then as firmly in Palpatine as a leader, and finally for a short while in himself to eventually have nothing left to believe in and spend 20 years as an empty shell. So, Padme? Yes, Padme firmly believes - in freedom, human (alien?) rights, peace, general welfare, democracy - but not republic or its representatives. She doesn’t believe in the republic beacuse there’s nothing to believe in, she can methodically explain to Anakin why this system works, there is no supernatural connection between republic and freedom in her head, that’s just how society and politics work. She also has little hesitation to call a votum against Valorum, is a leader of opposition in the senate and finally wonders outloud if the republic hasn’t become the exact evil they wanted to fight - to which Anakin of all people accuses her of talking like a seperatist. And finally, Obi-Wan. Again, apparently firm believer and undeniably, he has a couple of axes mundi that he just believes in - the light side, democracy, jedi beacuse not necessarily jedi order... I’d also say he really believed in Anakin to be the chosen one, which I think is - alongside their friendship, another of his few axes mundi - why his fall hurt him so much. But other than that? I’d say his serene confidence is far from fervent belief, he has no problem letting Anakin continuously break the jedi code (imagine if Windu had better knowledge of where little padawans come from...), when Han mocks the idea of the Force he just confidently has him watch Luke train with the ball - compare that to Darth Anakin force choking a man for a similar “offence”.
Turning to ST. There’s something almost grotesque about TLJ spoonfeeding us how dire Resistance’s situation is at the end of the movie and audience just going yeah, yeah, sure, they’re good guys in Star Wars, if they don’t win now you’ll give them another trilogy. As for characters - well, that’s exactly where interpretations differ. Of all mainest characters, Finn is the one most indisputably having had some sort of epiphany, a turning point in his perception, even if he hadn’t have time to maul over what DJ told him about war as business and Rose stopping his kamikaze. But as far as Rey and Ben are concerned - well, exactly, are their stories from doubt to different certainties, as some believe? If we assume TLJ was a journey from point A through some sidetracking to point A only more firmly - which is basically what Renperor throwing a tantrum and Reysabella expressing outloud Resistance’s moral superiority during the last force bond imply - then indeed, some trombone sounds out of place in the overall symphony. Now, Kylo Ben is arguably the character that had a word “conflict” put next to him most frequently, and it basically depends on whether this assertion is correct that he’s either a broken abuse victim or a cold psychopath the only sure argument right now is that latter makes a boring story. But Rey... Rey’s a believer. More, she’s a denier. A believer capable of wasting over a decade of her life in the name of denial. New puzzle pieces take time to make her reconsider the picture: no no, Luke, you’re wrong, jedi were awesome. No, you didn’t fail Kylo, Kylo failed you. Liar, she calls Kylo fun fact: Obi-Wan to Dooku telling him senate is controlled by a sith lord: I don’t believe you; Anakin to Padme on Mustafar: liar when he tells her his version of the Dolorous Night - even though a part of her knows that what he said is closer to truth than what Luke told her. When she goes to Supremacy she does so firmly sure she’s right and Luke’s wrong. Now, of course, she progresses through the movie, but, interestingly enough, the hesitation before the third act isn’t adressed as firmly as it should be at the end of the second movie - if it is in fact acknowledged. AotC ends with Yoda informing everyone there was no victory, only a beginning of clone wars. ESB makes a fine case of Luke quite quickly calling Vader father and painfully asking Obi-Wan why didn’t he tell him the truth. Rey seems... exactly, back in the place she was, only more firmly.
Case in point, to a naive eye it appears Rey had something of a paradoxical perception twist, and that was her only twist in the entire story - she changed her perception to find out her older perception was right. And that of course applies to Kylo Ben, and him alone. For many, even the truth about her parents shouldn’t be a table turner which expresses our escapist society disturbingly well. But more importantly, it’s not a misinterpretation. I know there are plenty of excellent meta explaining how Rey isn’t actually as firm in the last fb, but tbh, an intuitive impression is probably the right impression in a blockbuster. The actual question to ask is what does this firmness mean in the overall story.
Too high minors, too low majors, too self assured this allegro con brio seems.... Is it to establish a new key? Maybe.

The Twilight Saga:Breaking Dawn Part 2-movie review (blog 4)
Directed by Bill Condon,Breaking Dawn Part 2 is the last movie of the Twilight Saga. This features the last chapter of the unendeing love between, the now vampire,Bella Swan/Cullen and Edward Cullen.
Tumblr media
In this movie,we'll see how both Bella and Edward protect their daughter,Renesmee Cullen, from the Volturis. But why does the Volturis want to kill Renesmee? Before that, let me just state what I like and what I hate about this movie.
What I hate about this is that it has so many monolouges and dialouges for a short and most important movie of the series. Bella acted as the narrator in this story, and you'll hear her voice most of the time in the movie talking about how, where and why are they gatherinv witnesses for Renesmee to defend her against the Volturis. They should've modified some of these scenes into a fight scene,in my opinion, instead. Also, they shouldve made the last battle between the Cullens and Volturis longer. On the contrary,I like how the story of the movie went smoothly and how it made me wait for more scenes to come. Kudos for the director,as he made the viewers connect all the scenes of the movie to understand the storyline of it.

(Bella,killing Aro Volturi)
So back to the story, the Volturis were afraid of Renesmee because they thought she was made after Bella transformed into a vampire. They were threatened that the mere presence of Renesmee might reveal the existence of their race, the vampires,so they thought killing her is the best way to avoid such thing.Alice Cullen,a seer, saw the future how the Volturis are coming for them, specially Renesmee. Alice told why the Volturis are coming for them, making the Cullens agree to gather witnesses, for Renesmee, who have already seen a human-vampire hybrid.
The day came where the Cullens and the Volturis discuss about Renesmee. The Volturis was convinced that Renesmee was a human-vampire hybrid, but still insisted that the child still imposed a great threat to their race. Then Alice appeared out of nowhere to show Aro,Volturi's leader, what future she have seen if the battle between the Cullens and Volturis still continued. Aro was horrified to see himself die in the hands of Bella and Edward,so they decided tk back-off from the battle. Also,on the last part,Alice saw a great future for Renesmee and Jacob,a werewolf,as a lovers.
Tumblr media
(Alice's prediction)
Overall,it'a great movie even with all the dialouges and monolouges. By the way,my favorite scene was when Bella yielded her power, mental shield,to protect the Cullens against Jane Volturi, who has the power of pain illusion,a power tha can kill you at one galnce.
