She sighs, and yet another irritated thought is thrown Varka’s way in her mind, she can’t even muster the energy to make it outright dislike she’s so tired…
Jean was so concentrated she just now is starting to hear the Favonious Headquarter’s music once more, it’s peppy upbeat tune… grates like nails on a chalkboard.
and if she has to hear that damn flute for the next hour she works, she’s going to start banging her head onto her desk.

Out in Jueyun Karst, Xiao is dealing the finishing blow to a flying ruin hunter
He’s huffing and stabs his spear into the ground to lean on and catch his breath, the gentle music of the peaks begins to float around him once more
The Yaksha feels the earth beneath his feet shake. Not like from his Lord, not the other adepti angered, but an enemy so large it’s stomps shake the ground he stands on
Xiao quickly straightens less he fall over, pulling his spear out of the dirt with a little more effort than it probably should’ve taken…
The high sounds of the guzheng trickle through the air, a perfect representation of the base of the slopes, trees, streams, and nature all around him
Xiao turns to face the enemy behind him, his arm popping with tired joints,
…A ruin grader, two ruin hunters, and finally regular three ruin guards, follows it. they come around the corner of the bottom of another slope, and they're still simmering with black smoke, curling off their metallic shoulders.
Xiao sees several red targets layer over his chest,
the music fades a little, but sticks around, plucking strings gently. Xiao sighs, exhausted already.

Kazuha and Beidou had to redirect the Alcor from a nasty storm at sea that intercepted their usual route between Inazuma and Liyue,
the storm had practically chased them further and further down form the Inazuman islands
it wasn’t until Kazuha, from the crow’s nest, spotted fog on the waters that they realized they’d be forced to go into said creepy fog, what with the crackling looming clouds at their backs pinning them in
“Not good Captain, the fog is miles long, I’m not sure I can see a way around it…” Kazuha calls down to the deck, Beidou letting out a sharp sigh through her nose
“Damn… fucker’s not even sentient and it practically backed us into a corner, feels like we literally gotta escape the damn thing… BRACE YOURSELVES CREW, WE’RE HEADING INTO THAT FOG!”
The Alcor makes it’s way into the fog, a piano swells with a strange tune…
Beidou, Kazuha, and the crew know to listen to the music of teyvat, especially if you have a life at sea, where storms can appear in the middle of the day or other pirates could attack any moment.
The music means nothing good, but at least Kazuha can see the storm staying at the border of the fog, moving no further in, unlike themselves
“Shit… see anything up there Kazu?” the Captain steering the ship doesn’t even reach a shout, for the music has creeped out all conversation on board
“No ma’am, wait,” a chill breeze brushes through the wanderer’s white hair, he feels goosebumps jump on his neck and spine,
“…Yes! Portside Captain, land, no enemy movement yet!”
“Alright, here goes a bad idea…” Beidou’s arms flex as she easily turns the heavy wooden wheel, steering left,
the Alcor gently comes ashore, and they make anchor.
…there are no enemies, like Kazuha said, but the tune worsens, it had gotten louder now that they’re actually on the theme’s land
It plays slowly, encasing the crew of the Alcor in a paranoid quiet, and it almost has a melancholy note
Crows caw and fly off of a stone gate up ahead, they can see flickers of a strange blue light further inland, like figures carrying lanterns everywhere they go…
“Damn music, I wouldn’t feel half this anxious if it didn’t sound like we were walking into a monster infested cave…” the first mate says, the first person to break the quiet the music held over them.
“Yes, while we might need to stay here for awhile, I think we’re all very aware how dangerous this is…” Kazuha agrees, crossing his arms and squinting at the moving blue lights… the piano plays on.

You open on Spotify on your computer, clicking on your favorite kpop playlist, it’s been rainy all day, so you need the peppiness of this dance playlist to actually not be half-asleep playing Genshin-
You hum along to the Korean lyrics as you boot Genshin up, ugh, ur in-game music is so loud, u forgot u turned it up last time to hear the new Sumeru music…
Turning it down, you let the Kpop songs fill ur headphones as you nod to the beat, your team materializing on screen. Right, off to do commissions first!

Jean is like.. seconds away letting out a scream of frustration, anger, tiredness, loneliness, etc. her hands clenching her hair and ruining her ponytail when, thank Creator, the theme quiets down finally.
The loss of her immediate ire gone, she lets go of her hair, her hands just kind of hovering midair, not knowing what to do with herself, all the negative emotions giving her face wrinkles just melt off, leaving her stunned, blank face behind

..well, she quickly decides she’s grateful for the new music either Barbatos or the All-Parent had heard her pleas for…
…actually, it’s kind of,, catchy?
Jean takes out her ponytail, massaging her aching scalp, huh, she really did have it tight she’s just now noticing, she feels a small smiles appear on her face,
she actually kind of wants to do something now (she kind of hopes this new foreign bard song sticks around..)

If you asked Xiao what happened in that battle he’d be hard pressed to tell you,
without going completely red in the face. LMAO
He probably wouldn’t tell the other adepti this, especially Cloud Retainer, but Xiao had definitely had to get used to fighting brutal battles to the sound of gentle summer day-esque music
Right as the aruguably, army of ruin machines spotted the Yaksha, he’d launched himself into the air to try and evade the rusted beasts, aiming his jade spear, adding winds to swirl around the staff to better boost his attack, the machines warm up, their targets moved and locked onto him midair, right as both sides launch their attack-
🎶 Geogi neo I fancy you! Amuna wonhaji anha Hey, I love you (Love ya!) 🎶
Xiao nearly falls out of the air.
Quickly recovering, he uses his anemo power to propel himself off to the side dodging, he swears to his Lord and his Emperor himself, delayed attacks, as if the machines were caught off guard too,
missiles whiz by him, exploding behind, the peppy song of foreign women’s voices sings out into Jueyun Karst bright and happy-

Xiao’s face goes from being confused to concentrated throughout the rest of the battle, and the worst part… it actually helps his energy levels.
and he finds himself nodding along

Kazuha takes the lead, his sword unsheathed and at the ready to cut down the slightest movement before it can get to any of the crew behind him,
He’s flanked by the Captain of the Alcor herself, Beidou’s electro shield emitting a deep hum as it blocks in front of both himself, and the crew behind him
all of the pirates have unsheather their own weapons, daggers, swords, claymores, bows, their all on high alert, waiting for.. well, any enemies at all.
In fact, Kazuha hopes he sees hilichurls soon, just for the familiarity it could give him and the his crew-
the music begins to fade away.
The crew stops just shy of the entryway that was perched with crows before they scattered, the white fog hasn’t moved beyond its lazy drifting, but the creeping sounds have stopped entirely. Not good.
Captain Beidou sighs after a few silent moments, other than the quiet breathing and shuffling of weapons from the Alcor crew.
She lets her claymore sword thunk against her shoulder, and just as she opens her mouth, turning to address the all, deciding camping here will have to do for the night-

Kazuha’s shoulder shoot up to his ears in a flinch, red eyes wide, he barely stops his reflexes from taking a hard swing with his sword, several crewmembers shriek, collide with metal clinks into one another, Beidou drops low, her sword swinging off her shoulder into almost a full swing at the ground-

the music plays on, the only one making any noise as the entire Alcor crew just, stop. after their initial shock.
Kazuha’s the first to break.
He desperately tries to contain a quiet chuckle, which turns into a giggle, which turns into a full-on wheeze, as he buries his sword into the ground to brace himself on it and one of his knees
the Captain cracks by the time Kazuha wheezes, her laughter going straight to guffaws and knee slapping, her claymore shaking the ground where she stabs it to lean against
the crew erupts into laughter, both as the peppy foreign song echoes into the mysterious fog, and Beidou’s ridiculous laugh, as always
they don’t recover until two songs later when there’s finally a slow kpop song, Kazuha’s had to sit down, tears streaming down his face, Beidou’s half-dead, wheezing out complaints about her stomach, as the crew keep sending each other into more and more laughter right as they think they’re done.
They decide their Akitsu Mikami must have the best sense of humor and must just be sitting on their celestial throne pranking some of their subjects from time to time, and the Alcor crew find themselves all the more appreciative for it, their nerves entirely gone about the island
Kazuha and Beidou are constantly asking other bards they meet to try and see if anyone can recreate the song for the crew sometime they liked the beat and the memory so much, Fancy by Twice will still get a laugh out of Beidou and Kazuha, and they’d quickly let you in on the inside joke so you’d be a part of it too (afterall you did it lol)

Twinkling Watermelon Live Blogging
Came across some Tiktoks (I think the first one showed up on my FYP on my phone) about a deaf girl in school being tripped by a group of girls and a girl being nice to her and with a guy who's yelling at her for making fun of him but her not understand but then !! I found this Tiktok in the tags which has characters from this series and My Perfect Stranger who time travelled back in time to when their parents were teens! Not only that, the main guy in this is the son from 18 Again (aside: I've been Obsessed with this OST again for the past week this January), which this show kinda reminds me of even though that one had the parent turning young in current timeline rather than time travel. Then I realized that it's actually a really hyped show that everybody seems to be watching.
Anyway, been a long time since I watched a full-length kdrama that's not a rewatch (From Now On, Showtime! in June 2023), so I hope I love it. Again, bad timing because busy with school but the thing is, it's nearly always bad timing, so here it goes I guess.
Episode 1 (Jan 19, 2024)
It's 1:30AM and I'm starting this lol, I'm gonna just watch 15 mins and go to sleep so that I have something to look forward to/be excited about when waking up tomorrow

Was looking at the r/kdrama On-Air posts and it started off with posts w 100+ comments, then 200+, then 300+, and the final one has 800+ comments lol, did it blow up after the show finished airing or was almost at the end?
Episode 2 (Jan 19)
The secondary guy and the cello girl are both annoying right now but I assume they'll both grow, get better, etc. like firstly my guy why are you following around and stalking this girl T.T if he wasn't so overwhelmingly charming/endearing and we weren't seeing his side, it'd come off much creepier. and she's obviously like being forced to be in a strict schedule because of her family or whatever (wearing the pink dress while longingly looking at the black one lol) and she'll stop being the "ice queen" as time goes on, but idk I feel like there are characters who are kinda snobby but makes you like them regardless, whereas she's not quite hitting that for me
but him getting embarrassed about his open pants zipper and running away while covering his face was cute tho
hmm this older man (Yoon Dong Jin) was in a band in high school and he's the only one of the members who still does music... was Eun Gyeol's dad in this band perhaps? and was he the one who had the big accident to make him deaf?
This new band thing for Eun Gyeol happened so fast, tbh like no camaraderie? No getting to know the band members?

Maybe I should see if there's anything on AO3 for this because this seems more fanfiction's lane. I think I'm also okay that they don't quite seem to remember him except verrry hazy possibilities but the dad finding the voice tape is what's making me want more. At least Eun Yoo knows and is with Eun Gyeol in this not-quite-right world

It's good that we don't get every single thing wrapped up because shows that have a bit of stuff open-ended for speculation retain audience/fans well and there's also the aspect of letting the 1995 characters live their lives on their own, trust them to succeed and make it to 2023 well, theme that goes well with us not seeing everything. Time Travel Concept:
I guess something that's weird about time travel shows is that Eun Gyeol (and Eun Yoo) are the same people before going but with certain experiences (over the course of a couple weeks) whereas the people they have come back to have had different experiences for 28 years.
I wish they weren't famous as a family in the future. I'm glad they still had friends and I'm happy that they had money from Cheong Ah's side but... idk they're just different people when you're this rich and this influential and this famous. I wish they lived in a different house by themselves, even if a big rich people one, and that Chung Ah still did art and maybe Yi Chan could've participated in the Jinseng Instrument stuff but had his main job be something else, whether it be the restaurant or something else. There could be some influence allowed, like Chung Ah is a chaebol and a respected artist, Yi Chan somehow did smth similar to now but on a smaller scale, and Eun Gyeol as an up-and-coming band member who is recognized somewhat but not as famous to be chased down the street by a hoard of school girls.
Anyway, in the end, I'm glad Yi Chan didn't keep his hearing because in the show, it would've kind of undermined tings. Things happen, accidents happen, Yi Chan losing his hearing isn't the end of the world, he still deserves love and family and oppurtunity and for the world to accommodate his needs. The way he lost it was also good because despite Eun Gyeol's attempts, it happened that day and to save Eun Gyeol. Eun Gyeol's stint didn't change this specific aspect but it still changed a lot of things in a good way, leading to his new life in the future.
I just have to get used to these things in time-travelling shows where some people know about the magic while others don't, situations and people will be changed due to butterfly effect, etc. I guess I'm just unsettled by the fact that they have memories that Eun Gyeol does not and Eun Gyeol has ones they do not; that Eun Gyeol would've learned the guitar from somebody who is not Viva Music grandpa probably, etc. I'm trying to become less unsettled by the fact that they don't really remember Eun Gyeol because of magic and time logic or whatever and that they simply feel familiar to him.
As I was writing all this, I keep listening to You're Precious and My Song from the OST and ahh the You're Precious chorus really gets to me, feels like crying I don't get it the "ohhhh my love" literally brings tears to my eyes it has happened like 3 times now. and My Song is just so good in general.
General:
In 18 Again, the father wanted to pursue basketball after high school but had to give up due to teenage pregnancy and the kids and came back to his teen self where (among many other things) he got to play basketball in high school with his son. In this show, the father wanted to pursue music but lost his hearing and had to give that up but his son came to the past and got the chance to play in a band with his father and got to do the school festival he originally didn't get to do.
I'm fucking obsessed with this sort of concept.
It's got a good storyline, hilarious yet touching. Light-hearted but with many moments of weight. Entertaining to watch because why did I watch eps 13 and 14 and one of the earlier eps (2?) in bed on my iPad. We got to spend time with the different characters and pairs and the friend group together and it was vry fun.
There could be many pitfalls with the time traveling and the disability rep. I won't say there aren't any because some of the time loop stuff is kinda wonky if you look closely but I think that makes sense. I was really afraid that they'd make Yi Chan's hearing come back but I'm glad it didn't; it's just something that has to happen to him for no reason the way these things just happen sometimes.
The characters were well crafted and the acting was great. I liked all of them and each had moments of humour or emotions or romance and it was good.
Also, good faces sorry to say I'm shallow. Chung Ah gorgeous, gorgeous girl. I didn't find Se Kyeong attractive but the actress is sooo beautiful and charming as Eun Yoo (I know some people found her somewhat annoying but I liked her a lot). Ryeoun was really attractive as Eun Gyeol; when I first saw him in 18 Again, he was more posed as a loser kid and I was wowed by Lee Dohyun's face but here, he's so pretty and nice to look at and at certain angles, reminded me of Cha Eunwoo's face too (and a comment in this specific tiktok makes me think that it's not because I only know like 5 actors and so draw parallels between him and CEW lol). Then there were some other good faces too like Yi Chan sooo cute and round my pretty + the Kang Hyeon Yool guy was beautiful as well.
Kinda slow paced, there were certain episodes where I was like nothing really happened and we weren't closer to completing missions or finding out info but I guess that's the point of the slice of life aspect in some cases; just watching the characters exist alone and together.
Ships: I think I liked Chung Ah & Yi Chan more earlier on while I liked Eun Gyeol and Eun Yoo more later on. I was into the ChCh romance from the get-go and thought they were sooo cute whereas EunEun were a more fun menace pair who I just liked to watch fighting before it gradually became a couple I shipped Very Much. Also a shoutout to my Se Kyeong (OG, not Eun Yoo) and Chung Ah ship, I can't believe Se Kyeong's first love was her husband instead of Chung Ah (cold ice princess girl who is curbing every guy as they fall at her feet keeps chasing the girl who isolates herself to protect herself. Se Keyong asking about the Frida Kahlo painting and trying to bond over bands despite not liking it herself).
Well crafted show, good acting, hit some feels and I expect some attachment to it (I'm rewatching and skimming certain parts as I write lol).
Rating: 7.5/10 for now, could change 0.5 higher or lower in like a month as I assess my feelings

This side blog was made into a 'pain tracker' because of a knee injury I got back in February and an ankle injury in November (both 2023) then later an arm injury in January (2024).
I will also be tracking when i relapse on here. I actively self harm (for the love of fuck don't report the account or whatever-) n I never really remember the days I 'do it' so. I have something important to say:

I made this blog in January 2021. Although I had been on tumblr for years, I was persuaded by my best friend to make a writing acc. I was still recovering from many things and just needed an escape. Now, I knew it was cringe but I never really thought anyone would read anything. I was simply projecting what I wished I had. I was writing soft scenarios, to make up for the lack of love I had for myself. I was grasping at anything that would fill me with some type of joy even for a short period of time.
I had been following you for a while, since before this blog even existed. I enjoyed seeing your content, as I was in my Beomgyu era (lmao).
It was all fine and dandy until I made that one Beomgyu Kidcore themed moodboard. You followed me upon seeing it. My first mutual! I was happy! It felt nice having an interaction in a space I felt safe in.
This blog was/is a space for me to be my most exaggerated self. To say the things I don’t normally say bc I wouldn’t want anyone to take me seriously if I say smth cringe. Y’all don’t bat an eye, bc it’s just- normal idk.
We began sending each other asks surrounding each other’s posts, and eventually after becoming comfortable it started turning flirty?
But the thing is, we were both well aware it was all in fun. It was a running joke between us on who would fall first (to which,,, you lost :)).
You messaged me for the first time on March 16th, the day after my birthday. I wasn’t feeling great at the time, and you were there for me. Granted, I didn’t want to trauma dump on you- so I kept it brief. Regardless, you made it clear that you were there for me if I needed someone.
After that conversation, we proceeded to message each other every single day (all day even). The flirty energy didn’t stop in the asks,, it continued into dms. At that point, I started to hesitate a little. I even remember messaging my best friend and talking about it and saying I was a little taken aback. Not because I felt uncomfortable, but because I felt a little too comfortable. You seemed to have a calming quality that- despite the boldness of your “fake” flirting, made me feel light. I was just enjoying the company.
And then I started getting to know you, I learned that you work with children and it made me smile :) It’s a rather attractive quality to me, as my main goal in life is to be a parent. It was nice that there was someone else like me that didn’t hate kids for no reason. I also noticed many other similarities between us, and just how many qualities we share.
Over time, something started feeling different. The energy shifted into this big elephant in the room. The “fake” flirting started feeling less fake, and the way my mood brightened and the way I smiled every single time I got a notification from you concerned me. I was unsure of the way I felt towards you, as I always felt fear when liking someone in the past. These things have never went well for me previously. Because of that, I got nervous and started reading into everything you said as if trying to analyze your intentions and figure out if you were being serious or if we were still just joking around.
It was March 28th when I decided to stop being a coward and just- ask you.
The nerves set in even more after your admission. The thing was, my brain knew I felt the same way. I was just scared of admitting it. I had never been in a situation in which someone I was interested in felt the same interest towards me (I know it’s shocking,, I’m just so hot who wouldn’t like me back /lh). I was nervous that I’d fuck it up. That I would say something and you’d take it back. I was scared of letting myself admit the butterflies I felt when you told me good morning, and the way my cheeks got warm when you complimented me. You were just so sweet, I didn’t know what to do.
So I went with it. I told myself that the worst that could happen is you change your mind and I’d get over it in a week or two. Nothing I hadn’t went through before. I figured, whats the harm in allowing myself to enjoy something that made me feel good? Why would I run away from someone that had been nothing but kind to me and had never made me feel uncomfortable. Not once have you ever made me feel anything but at peace. You made me feel seen. I felt like I could be my true self around you. I felt that you wouldn’t judge me no matter what.
So I continued to talk to you even more over that next week. I let myself sink into that gushy feeling for the first time.
It was April 4th when I decided you know what, I want to date this person. I don’t want to wait for the possibility of either you asking me or you finding someone you like more than me (bc- I’m selfish). Once again I thought, the worst that could happen is you say no. And what better way to ask than to throw in a meme in the middle of a flirting session. Why not right? Why make it awkward and serious when it doesn’t have to be?
And I was pleasantly surprised at your response
In hindsight, I don’t know why I was so surprised. You literally told me you love me way before that. Granted, I just figured it was part of the flirty thing- I was completely unaware of how these things work. Hell, I’m still unaware of how these things work.
Nonetheless, it started to sink in. You wanted to be with me? Little ol’ me?
From that day, the butterflies didn’t stop. They kept coming (and still do now and then ngl). I began to take notice of everything about you. At some points its like I was searching for any possible red flags so I could validate my nerves. In the end, I came up with nothing (aside from you not liking chicken nuggets,, that’s still off putting to me /j). Its like every time I thought I couldn’t like you more, you proved me wrong.
It took me a minute to tell you I love you. I honestly didn’t know what love felt like. I was under the impression that it was like the movies. The way they portray it like fireworks and rainbows and what have you. It wasn’t until I realized that thats not realistic that I was able to take a look back. Love isn’t like the fairytales. Love is safety. Love is comfort. Love is knowing this person has my back. Love is not having to question the way the other feels bc of their words and actions. You showed me what love is. You showed me what it means to trust someone with your heart.
A piece of my heart is with you all the time, and I know for certain that you keep it safe. I’m positive that you would never intentionally harm it. I have more trust in you than I’ve ever had in anyone. I believe you when you tell me you love me (10 times a day :)) because you don’t just tell me, you show me.
You put up with my bullshit so much. My mood changes, my annoying rambles late at night about whatever my brain decides to fixate on, my clinginess daily. You never make me feel bad for being overly excited about things I enjoy. You would let me go on for hours if I wanted to. You call me pretty even when my eyebrows look like nubs and my hair is funky. Need I go on? Yes.
The fact that I sent you my favorite hoodie speaks volumes,, tbh I still miss it <//3 but it looks much cuter on you. (It also helps that you sent me yours to fill the void of missing mine hjsjekk)
Your voice makes me feel like I’m floating. Your laugh makes my heart spin. Your smile is contagious, love.
You’re my soulmate.
We have many soulmates in life, some romantic, some platonic. But you?? You’re my person, Ryu. You’re the reason I smile at my phone at work. You’re the reason I bust my ass everyday. okay so, this week has literally been my worst----- i’ve had like . continuous panic attacks n i literally thought i was abt to Die, so I went to Get Some Help like the Big Kid I Am , and Basically, i need to turn my life around .
i’m usually active at night (idk why but my muse is rly strong after midnight ): big F in the chat), but i want to sleep early n wake up early, and get used to writing in the morning. SO, this change might take me a few days to a few weeks. i might just focus on a few threads, might not be writing for a while, or might just post headcanons and solos. Who Knows . but im letting you all know.
also im going back to screenwriting classes, bc i really, Really , want to succeed in it. and actually, i made this blog more as a character study (im actually writing a Show abt,,Bambi..w0w,), and i’m not gonna lie IM REALLY HAPPY ABT THE THREADS I’VE HAD WITH ALL OF MY RP PARTNERS BC WOW, I RLY GOT TO DEVELOP MY TRASH BOI, THANK U. and so, i might like , also slow down a bit to focus on bambi’s script (i want to get to class with smth in hand and just work on it throughout the whole Semester and try to sell it by the end of 2020 ...i kno, this is Very Big Dreams but i Believe in Myself).
but also this means looking for more pre-established plots and very in-depth threads . i rly want to focus on bambi’s key character aspects (like his memory loss, his music and Very Much his gender identity) and especially ESPECIALLY his dialogue. i think atm it’s kind of lacking. im still trying to find his voice. diff threads might not b cohesive since i’ll be trying different . . . voices. u might not even notice a difference tbh sdfkjsdkg BUT ILL KNOW.
SO ANYWAY ENOUGH ABOUT BAMBI . i’ll be taking a break from life starting this week until january. i’ll hav more time to rp, but i’v prepared a bunch of hobbies for me to delve into so pls don’t count on my free time to be here at all times. i’m gonna try to practice sticking to a rp writing routine (perhaps 2hrs a day? 3hrs? or 2 days a week) and uh, nothing more. KEYWORD: TRY.
i rly want to focus on painting, reading books, going to the movies and exercising-- plus anything that’ll help me improve my writing. i’d hope that by the end of march, i’ll see some kind of change in either my body or my writing (or hopefully both lmfao , ,, ), and by proxy, an improvement in bambi’s story :----)
to conclude; changing my lifestyle, will def affect my activity on here . bambi’s story might or might not go through huge changes . i’ll be removing things, adding things, changing, editing, rewriting, re-editing, deleting-------------- you get it . i’m going all in for this bitch because I. WILL. SELL. HIS. STORY.

2018 Creator Reflection
I picked out my fav pieces from this year like I did last New Years! Lots of rambles abt them all beneath the cut.
January: Miners is one of my fav poems ever--I think I did it some justice. Owen swapped the poem’s meaning from the mine collapse to the war-dead but both apply to Nol so it works perfectly. Fake lighting is rough but I learned a rly efficient (if layer-heavy) technique for it here.
February (one / two): I had to pick two here since both of them always stayed with me. I think the image speaks volumes of them with Nol violently ripping apart these grimy shells while Elliot’s sitting on needles with a dainty white box of pastries. For the second, I know I pick on Nol a lot, but this was one of the key turning points for him. And I used to obsess over his breath--I still do tbh--but here’s where that motif came back in full force.
March: I wanted to make smth soft after Feb’s dark contrast, and Keats gives me the best excuses tbh. At this point, I was really into giving white strokes and painting shadows onto my edits bc art nouveau is such a mood. I think this is also when I started lightening up abt just representing Nol and Eli’s romantic relationship on my blog. I still get nervous abt sharing but I think my best work still comes from them together.
April: I honestly had way too much fun writing this and I still have leftover purple prose lines sitting in my drafts from it. I’d forgotten how to write them until this prompt woke the skill back up in me. Tbh I still go back to it when I need to remember. Also rivi wrote me this in return and I’m p sure cry everyday abt it bc her writing is so beautiful
May: Fam I love this song sm. I rushed to finish this edit and then revisited it a few months ago to adjust the blur n such. It’s probably the most complicated thing I’ve ever edited. The lyrics fit so well with how Nolanel just vice-grips things to hold himself together, so I put the dragoon for war, Elliot for Elliot lol, and the flag/rosary for faith and country. Each of these things conflict and form the core of his struggle as a person.
June: I think smth possessed me when I made this--I started with no idea where I was going and suddenly I had this really beautiful sprawl of light and dark. I think Sae is really fascinating and complex n im glad I got to know the rad person behind her more this year!
July: I spent several days on this and the whole thing is a blur in my memory. I put Nol on the altar on purpose since he’s the more “holy” of the two/has done less wrong, but mostly since he’s the one who gets the most out of these moments away from the world. Elliot still has outside thoughts n he’s not as relaxed, but Nol’s hand on him is kind of all the reassurance he needs. I gotta finish editing the whole album one of these days, too.
August (one / two): I think both of these give a brief impression so I picked them. The one about the rosary I find impactful and genuinely cold--I used to get censured by classmates for being too dramatic in the emotional sense (at this point, too bad). As for the second, I was really not feeling well around that time, and finding The Heart’s Journey in school rly got me out of it for a few hours. I think the edits themselves are a bit awkward but I’m fond of the composition anyway and of what I tried to make.
September (one / two): I barely ever think of Elliot younger than seventeen, so fourteen yo Eli crashing into my thoughts w a Calamity flashback was such a sucker-punch. I’m so in love with his rashness and with Jos at the end. As for the edit, it recreated by accident the everybody-cry-on-the-floor (idk if this is mood or goals) pose when Nol proposes--I still dislike the scene but I felt a little better abt it after this (slapping a Pogany heart into it helped)
October: can i just AAAAAAAAAAAAA abt this bc that’s my author’s note (i failed writing smth happy w no strings attached but it reveals some rly intense n important parts and issues in their relationship that i rly loved expressing finally)
November: (one / two) OK i had to pick two from this month because these go together for Armistice Day. It takes within 2 seconds of knowing me to learn that 99% of my braincase is filled w thoughts on war poetry n war culture, etc, will smith poses at my like 8 soldier characters. I still think of Nol as a ltn so it was really cool to approach some of his interaction w his company as a loveable? mob.
December (one / two): I made both of these as leveplates! I’ll post versions w the frames once I figure out making more of them. I’ve attempted stained glass before and it doesn’t usually come out well--I stick to the art nouveau sort of borders much more. Using super saturated colors was new, esp w Nol, but I really love both of their poses (which, for once in my life, I didn’t have to combine 4 pictureS to achieve).

How I run my blog:
Speed: ....Well. I used to be pretty consistent, but over the last eight months my activity has been all over the place. I am returning to Aranea after a month away for vacations and I am still sorting out the threads I owe everyone so I can figure out how much room I have. But I’m feeling my muse, especially with memes. :D I used to write during work and on Sundays, and I’m trying to do it again.
Replies: I don’t do one liners - mostly because I don’t use icons and I feel they lack something. I usually write 3+ paragraphs and keeping stuff short is always a challenge because my replies tend to be... Introspective? I add headcanons and internal voices and stuff, so they get wordy. I always try to give my partner something to react to and I tend to avoid locking the dialogue so the thread looks funny (from a chronological perspective). I don’t mind minor godmodding to help move things ahead (like assuming my muse will open a door or smile at a joke or smth) and if I don’t agree with it I’ll always say it so we can edit.
Starters: Not sure I can take up more threads at the moment but I LOVE plotting. I love discussing things and sometimes replacing one idea for another - well, in short, talk to me! Chances are I’ll be up for it and we can discuss it for now or keep it for later. :)
Inbox: Always open, to anyone, both OOC and IC (as long as it is a FFXV character with no AUs required).
Selectivity: I am selective and mutuals-only for threads. I do try to reply to everything (I mean, as soon as I start replying again) and I will start threads with people I haven’t written before as long as we’re mutuals. I’m slow to check new followers and follow back but I do it, I swear!
Wishlist: AUs. So many AUs I should stop, really. I really miss writing my FFXII verse (too bad all the Vayne muses always vanish) and I would love a fateswap!AU with the girls on the road rather than the chocobros. I also love worldbuilding so WoR, Niflheim and anything that is yet to be explore is always interesting. :)
Honest Note: Understanding and respecting IRL aspects, as well as keeping in mind that every muse is different. One of the reasons I took so long to follow other Aranea blogs was because I was too insecure and worried about copying headcanons by accident because Aranea had almost nothing on her when I started the blog in January/17. But now I have flashed out her entire background and headcanons, I’m super comfortable around duplicates, will promote them to hell and I love to see the differences - I just ask my followers/partners to keep in mind my portrayal may differ greatly and that there is no right or wrong way to write her (although I do love it when something from canon matches my headcanons - but with SE, I never know if being canon-compliant is a good thing...).

I hope I don’t cry writing this.
It’s funny? It literally started on September 18 (I remember the day and everything else so clearly) because I messaged her from my other blog about her SDM AU. I’d found it and had been having a rough time lately in my personal life, but going through that tag had made me laugh and smile so much that I wanted to write a fic about it!! So I reached out to her and was so nervous bc I didn’t know if she’d just flat out ignore me or smth bc I wasn’t a Voltron account sjshskd but she replied later and was so cute and flustered that I’d wanna write a fic for her AU. I told her I’d make a Voltron blog so I could talk to her better there, and that’s how this blog was born ~woo~!
We were talking for maybe a day or two on and off bc of work and we figured out we both lived in Canada in the same province and I was so hype tf she is close to me like WHoA. Anyway then eventually I was like “hey idk if this is weird but do u have imessage” and she was like “tf yes idk why i didnt ask u this before i always ask for ppls imessages YES” and since that day, we haven’t gone a single day without texting each other.
I think I figured it out pretty quickly that I had a crush on her but because of reasons, I didn’t say anything for a long long long time and yeah so you know how everyone jokes about pining Keith and him being emo and shit? well that was me for four months lol I literally didn’t think she’d ever like me back and I didn’t want to ruin our friendship so I just. didn’t say anything.
While this was all happening, we made plans to meet up and for her to come visit me in January!!!! And I told myself I was gonna tell her I liked her after she went home from visiting me bc I didn’t want her to come and feel weird bc I was certain she didn’t feel the same way back?
Askakslsksjd anyway. Here comes December 31st. We were talking late into the night, like from 11 to past midnight at that point and I worked a 9 hour shift that day starting at 9am or something but I didn’t want to sleep bc we were talking (gay, i know) and our convo got steered a certain way, thanks to her sister (luv u kayla u the loyalest) and she ended up confessing that she has a crush on me. Proceed to me having a breakdown and bawling my eyes out in disbelief because months of pain and suffering and doubting myself and being upset at myself for wanting someone I couldn’t have were so unnecessary because she felt the same way. Obviously I told her I felt the same and we stayed up until almost 5am talking about it and us and everything. Needless to say, when I went to work like 3 hours later, I was smiling the entire day :’) lack of sleep whom?
Then she came!! Visited me mid January and we got to watch Voltron season 2 together and it was amazing and I’m so emo every day bc I see where we went together and what happened in certain places and going to work every day makes me wanna cry bc I see where I walked her through my store to show her where I work and :( I miss her. A lot.
I think that’s the best short summary I can give? I’m sorry it’s so long I really did compress it as much as I could zbsbahsjakjasj but yeah that’s it! That’s us! The Gays™!
