'Will You Marry Me?'

Ratchet and Rivet have lived together for a long time - 10 years in fact. Neither felt the need to make a big to-do over their relationship; they had each other's vows, and knew that their dedication to one another was absolute, and everybody knew how the two lombaxes felt for one another. But still, as their 10-year anniversary since Rivet moved in with him approached, Ratchet wanted to do something to mark such a momentous occasion.One day, after several days of Ratchet spending time on something in their garage, he emerges and suggests the four of them go for a leisurely stroll through the park in downtown Megalopolis to enjoy the pleasant Spring air.

They pause during their walk as they reminisce on their past adventures, and Ratchet, as he once more relived the moment he had fallen so in love with Rivet, gets on one knee and takes her metal hand as he draws out a small box.

Rivet gasps and covers her mouth as she spots the custom-made gold ring, and Ratchet, with the eyes of passersby on them all, asks the same question a much younger version of himself had once asked Sasha Phyronix when she showed him the latest videogame console all those years ago, only this time, in a clear state of mind and with full sincerity.

Her eyes flooded with happy tears, an overjoyed Rivet simply nods, and Clank and Kit leap with joy as the surrounding crowd applauds c:

//I love this movie a lot. Does it have issues? Of course. But that goes for any film out there. I know I'm in the minority when I say I whole-heartedly love the canon of the film. Most people either want the Nerissa twist retconned or the film just deleted entirely for the sake of their Chelby shipping. Meanwhile I would like to see canon be used as a jumping off point for greater stories. I would rather focus on the world of RGTK than a single ship that wasn't ever going to happen in canon anyway.

//Lord, I don't want this just be a whole rant thing because I do love Chelsea. But I'm so sick and tired of people literally turning her into the thing the movie mocked and made fun of. She is a villain. That's what she was made to be as. In every iteration of RGTK, from the darker mature story to the OG pitch Chelsea is the antagonist. That's her role. Like, I don't mind her becoming the fanon version of herself. That's called character development. But outright erasing her antagonist-ism just so you can supplant your need for shipping is just UGH. And it really sucks man because she's such a fun character on screen. She is. I love her!

Crossovers? Love them. Adore them!! Tumblr is the perfect place for the most bizarre rp crossovers. I remember a long time ago when I played Dr. Doofenshmirtz and he ended up meeting Rick Sanchez. It was hilarious because Rick was flabbergasted over how Doof was simultaneously smarter and dumber than him at the same time. Or back in my Ratchet and Clank days where we had this crossover thread with Sonic characters where Emperor Tachyon faced off against a lombax OC and Knuckles from Sonic. Ahh, memories. But yeah, crossovers are always welcomed here!

//Giant monsters! Listen, I am a sucker for kaiju. It's kind of what pulled me into RGTK in the first place. And you're telling me I get four giant kaiju's in this film??? And one of them is a mermaid? Something we usually don't see?? Sign me the heck up!

And we see so many other monster statues down in the kraken kingdom and other monsters are name dropped in the art book! There's so much potential for other kaiju's in RGTK's world!!

And you know what? The Nerissa twist. But I should give some context for it. I went into this film pretty blind. I didn't watch any of the trailers. I knew it was coming out and had a vague idea of what it might be. So, I go and see it. I'm enjoying it so far. We get to the half way point where Chelsea's like, 'My mother died trying to get it.' and in my head I'm like, 'AHA. I've got this film figured out. She's gonna use the trident to get revenge for her mother. Finish what her mom started in a sort of way.'

But then we get to the final act and 'Lol, actually I am Nerissa.' which genuinely took me by surprise. I didn't expect that. Ya got me good movie. I didn't see that part coming, props to you. And then when I watched it again knowing she's Nerissa, it just makes her retroactively more evil and I love it.

Got a mini theory about the rebuilt/new Dimensionator used in Rift Apart.

The rebuilt/new Dimensionator used in Rift Apart are very different as along with them now looking like weapons instead of the iconic helmet look the original had in Tools of Destruction and Into the Nexus, another change is that now users need to manually put in coordinates to the dimension/universe they want the device to open to when the original helmet form only required someone to activate it and tell the device where they want the portals to open to.

A small part of the R&C fandom are probably wondering why this happens now and I think I have a reason.

Whether there are only one kind of Lombaxes in the R&C omniverse or many version of them (I prefer the latter) we can agree that at some point Lombaxes explored other dimensions/universes and kept records of them till they eventually mapped (or maybe even made an algorithm) of all of existence and stored that data inside there helmet Dimensionators.

I believe that because Ratchet and Clank’s Dimensionator was damaged too many times (or while Clank was rebuilding it) that data was lost, so Clank had to substitute it with the manual system, same with the one Ratchet and Kit built.

nOTP: I think ratchet and rivet and maybe sasha are the only people I've seen shipped with angela and I don't really hate any of those. love and light random headcanon: This only makes sense if you're obsessed with rac lore but I think the reason rivet knew angela is cause she's originally from rivet's dimension. For some reason she made her way to ratchet's dimension for the events of going commando but probably returned shortly after, which is why everyone acts like she doesn't exist. This would at least reconcile the fact that she was there in gc but then a few years later ratchet is now "the only lombax left in the universe". um.... except for azimuth. the ratchet and clank lore is hot garbage. unpopular opinion: for some reason angela didn't have a tail which everyone immediately assumed meant that female lombaxes don't have tails and males do. but thats stupid. maybe she was just fucked up? maybe she lost her tail in the yuri war??? ever think of that? this is not to discredit the trans rivet headcanon I still think that's real. but not because of the tail thing. she simply has transfem swag. song i associate with them: idk any kind of girlboss song. sorry i havent really thought about it favorite picture of them: this is a fan rendering but i really like it cause it's a more high def version of her ps2 model that's not absolutely horny like all other angela fanart and fan models. this is how I would want her to look if she ever makes another appearance

FRANCIS

favorite thing about them: HES SO FAIL. he's supposed to be "cool older brother who's awesome" BUT HE SUCKS SO MUCH. least favorite thing about them: i won't lie i don't think his actor is very good. obviously francis is my favorite character in the show but he's one of the weakest actors his performance can just be really awkward sometimes favorite line: I can't think of any specific line but it's always funny when spangler creates some new rule or punishment and he turns tot he other cadets and is like JOIN ME IN THE FIGHT AGAINST TYRANNY AND OPPRESSION! WORKERS OF THE WORLD UNITE WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BUT OUR CHAINS! brOTP: not exactly what this question is asking but I love the episodes where he gets to come home and hang out with his brothers!! Usually the 90s/2000s character archetype of "edgy mean older brother" will ruthlessly torment their younger siblings for no reason and just be really cruel so I like that he genuinely cares about his younger brothers and tries to protect them from bullies and stuff. and I like that malcolm reese and dewey really miss him when he's away and get excited when he calls or visits. reminds me of when I came home from college for christmas break and my little brother hugged me so aggressively I toppled over. OTP/NOTP: I don't have many thoughts here so im just combining these questions. so far there's not really anyone to ship him with since any girl he likes is a one off character who ends up hating him by the end of the episode. i guess if you're desperate enough for malcolm in the middle yaoi you could pair him with one of the other cadets or with richie but i dont feel that vibe. random headcanon: in that gay francis dream i had it was an episode where its revealed the whole family has making bets for years as to when francis will come out. he kisses a guy and then reese punches malcolm and is like "lol you owe be 5 bucks doofus 😆" unpopular opinion: im not super involved in the mitm+ community yet so idk if this is unpopular but I don't think francis needs a subplot in every single episode (im halfway through season 2 so idk how the writing will change over the course of the show). If it ties into the A plot or if he's home from military school then I think it's fine but a lot of episodes will have perfectly fine sitcom-standard A plot and B plot with the rest of the family and still try to squeeze in a C plot for francis that will have a screentime of like, 2 MINUTES. and is it really worth it? most of the time it would have been better if they just padded out the other 2 plots and gave francis more screentime in a different episode instead of giving me whiplash from transitioning between scenes that are like 5 seconds long. song i associate with them: im trying to not listen to songs and think "this is for my blorbo francis XD" so if i ever make a francis playlist i need you to shoot me im too far gone man. but lately ive been listening to a lot of beck which i think is the quintessential vibe for 90s/2000s edgy teen guys. im a loser baby why dont you kill me ❤ favorite picture of them: i like this one where he is on the phone and scared. me when im on the phone and scared

🎱 (To meet an alternative version of Rivet)

While some alternates of Rivet are just... well... Rachet, it was expected that there is cases where SHE is different.

In this case, Rivet was born into a world that saw not rise of a great empire of tyranny and robots but just a period of great prosperity, thanks to the Lombaxs. As one of the few of these race, she was given a lot of power and to a point, a cult of personality. Such love and respect to her kind as well as her own technical mind saw her being lavished with the fruits of her success!

Or rather... foods of her success!

Which lead to her becoming one of the biggest and fattest creatures in the known galaxy!

Lost and Found

When I first wrote "Lost Time", it was originally supposed to be set after Rift Apart because I wanted me some Rivchet, but given that it was my first fanfic ever, I quickly realized that I had to write a lot between

Ratchet and Kaden reuniting

Ratchet and Kaden bonding

Ratchet and Rivet getting together

Rivet and Kit dealing with all of their shit

Rivet getting to know her family (who I had to create out of thin air)

Ratchet and co. just dealing with meeting the Lombaxes in general

So, obviously, I decided to go the easy route and make a whole new AU to make it set after Into the Nexus but before Rift Apart, and it worked out wonderfully.

Until I realized that I had to make my own alternate version of Rift Apart to even introduce Rivet into my AU and set up the Rivchet I so desperately craved--especially given that I now had entire arcs planned for their kids I made lmao.

So, here is that said rewrite, which is basically Rift Apart with the goal of having them hook up eventually being in mind lol
