*cracks knuckles* Get ready for a long ask As an animator/artist myself, I have a lot to say about the character designs. I'm sure you've heard this before, but these characters are not animation friendly. More detail just makes it harder to animate. (While Bee is a notorious example, nearly all of the characters suffer from this) When designing a character for animation, you need to pick and choose the key parts of their design, because you're going to be drawing the same thing over and over. Another thing: The characters have so much freaking red to them. I won't dwell on this for long, but they don't stand out from the background because there's so much freaking red (Another thing that bugs me is that the characters don't look like what the artist wanted them to be like) Ex: Charlie doesn't look like a doll Vaggie barely has a moth resemblance Angel Dust doesn't look like a spider Alastor doesn't look like a deer Niffty doesn't look like a bug or B-movie styled aliens Ozzie doesn't look like a rooster Beelzebub doesn't look like an animal trainer (you would think with all the suits and shit she likes to use, an animal trainer's outfit would be perfect for this)

Another thing: Her characters reuse the same design tropes. Bow ties, suits, fingerless gloves, gold tooth, stick thin figure, top hat, etc I'd excuse it if this was a beginner artist (heck, I used to do this, but eventually learned and grew out of it) but this is a woman in her 30's who graduated art school. TL;DR The designs are bad and hard as heck to animate

I feel like, when Viv sits down to design a new character, her personal preferences come first and everything they're actually supposed to represent second. Sort of tacked onto the final product like "yeah sure that'll do it"

As for the details, if I may add on: not long ago I've studied screencaps of a character from Helluva for redesign purposes. The amount of inconsistencies I came across was surprising! I'm pretty sure he didn't even have an official ref sheet (nor has one been posted to date), but I've heard that even for more prevalent characters the animators only have the most basic turnarounds? Also stuff like Millie's hair and spots tend to be inconsistent. With so much gratuitous/weird detail and apparently lack of proper reference, consistency suffers

Everyone is also very spiky and full of triangles; I'd love a more soft or even square character. Also some different body types... I mean, remember Mimzy from Hazbin? I don't know if Viv does. I wonder if she's still gonna appear at some point. But anyway

On a more positive note, there's a lot of background character designs that I find really cool & enjoyable! Maybe I'll make an appreciation post for them sometime

🐺 The Goetia male was now dragging both you and Octavia throughout the ordeal of his and Stella's divorce, and only you and her seemed to realize just how desperate she was to see these stars in the human world

🐺 You were there when Stolas burst into the room in an anger because Octavia had gone missing with the grimoire, and seeing Stolas' and your demon forms almost made the three imps and the hellhound piss their pants in both fear and shock

🐺 Loona was not happy to be in the human world, and when you just offered her a hand and pulled her up, she saw just how you really looked. Your hair looked like it was made out of the fins of a fishes' and your skin had littered amounts of scaled

🐺 You really were from the Envy Ring, weren't you?

" Now! First things first if we're gonna do this the old fashioned way, we're gonna need disguises. "

🐺 The next thing you knew, you were staring at a humanoid Stolas and Loona while the three imps stood out like sore thumbs

🐺 Staring at Loona made you flustered and look away shyly, causing her to chuckle when she caught sight of you. You looked just as cute in this form as you did in your demon one

🐺 As you walked through this city Loona called LA, you had noticed that Moxxie and Millie had randomly disappeared while Blitzo and Stolas were kicked into a van and drove off after the head of I.M.P. gave you and Loona the order to find Octavia, making her and you flip him off

🐺 Now you were here, at some random building that you couldn't remember the name of, but they way it looked out and onto the city reminded you of the old hellborn-comic series, Inked Blood, which had gone out years prior to your birth

🐺 Looking around slightly, you both came to see Octavia. And you looked and Loona and slightly bowed, allowing her to go in first, after all, females get females better

🐺 You just sat behind the building's large curve as Loona and the young Goetia female spoke, and your heart warmed at hearing her words. Dads really did have issues, like yours did back when he was alive…

" If he cares, where is he? " " He's somewhere down there. " " He’s here? " " Looking for you. I mean… try to cut your dad some slack. He may not always get it right, but he's trying. That's more important than you think. " " Ain't that the truth? " " Y/N? " " I agree with Loona here. Dads aren't always gonna be the best, but, despite the either minor or major flaws they have, the fact that yours is actually actively trying to connect with you before it's too late is something you need to hold dearer than now. "

🐺 Loona stared at you as you spoke, despite you looking silly wearing a demon-version of a Hatsune Miku shirt, the way you looked so lovingly and soft at the one you viewed as your sister made the hellhound flush slightly

🐺 As the smog and clouds cleared to allow the moon to shine, Loona stood and held a hand out to Octavia, making her drop the magical book into her hand as she stood and readied herself before smiling at you

🐺 All of a sudden, Octavia tackled you and Loona into a hug, making you wrap your webbed hands around the two, landing your left on Octavia's shoulder blades while your right laid on Loona's side

🐺 Why was your touch making her flustered so much?!

🐺 Seeing Stolas and Octavia finally discuss things was heartwarming for you. Now that that disgusting bitchy cunt Stella was out of the picture somewhat, they could finally connect like a father and daughter should

Blitz sleeps with a stuffed Spirit because that’s his favorite horse movie

Growing up in the circus, he never needed to really learn how to read or write so Blitz didn’t really know how to read or write properly until he was an adult, I think just before the show picks up. 

His father beat him frequently when he was young and very rarely gave him praise for anything, as a result he thought that was how he was supposed to be treated and had a string of abusive partners in his younger years.

He’s not responsible for the accident that is believed to be the cause of his falling out with Fizz, he was blamed for it so much after the fact that he has conditioned himself to feel guilty about it.

Blitz makes Loona horse shaped pancakes every saturday morning and has since he adopted her

After the adoption was finalized, Blitz’s sinstagram page was almost entirely pictures of Loona doing the most mundane things.

He’s obsessed with M&M’s relationship because he was the one who set them up together when Millie was hired on and he can’t help but marvel at how they’ve grown as a couple.

In the episode “Truth Seekers”, Blitz was more concerned about the safety of his team than himself, so much so that he tried to convince the agents to keep him there and let Moxxie go while he was unconscious.

Despite denying it, he loves cuddling with Stolas and he sleeps the best when they’re together.

He’s tried to kill Stella twice after learning about some of the abuse she put her husband through.

While he offered Striker a job, he would’ve fired him soon after seeing how miserable having him around made Moxxie

Like Loona and Stolas, Blitz has a human form but refuses to use it because he doesn’t like that his scars translate into his human form and he hasn’t found a way to hide them

His favorite food is pizza

He often calls I.M.P. a family owned and operated business

He occasionally falls asleep in the fetal position with the end of his tail in his mouth. His mother took countless pictures of him and his sister in that same position as babies.
