Definitely don’t apologize, I really appreciate any feedback let alone such a wonderfully long and thorough one :’D I remember how stressful exam weeks were like, so thanks for still taking your time to write this! (and yes all those back to back LL related news and then SIF new cards and everything aaaah it’s been a wonderful week so far) I’m pleased I’m somewhat able to keep to my upload schedule though (new chapter every 2-3 weeks, I can only mostly write on weekends)

Yoshiko is the main narrator, main character of this story so I’ll always fret over how she’s portrayed ahaha XD;;; If someone just reads ch15, they’ll probably think why Yoshiko is not herself. Alas, this arc3, so everything’s continuously built up until this point so yup, glad to hear her characterization is fine!

My intention for the interludes are additions to the main story, a side-story for characters whose story couldn’t really be shown through the narrator’s POV, but also so that these subplots would not affect to the main story. The main story should be complete on its own without a reader having to read the Interludes but, of course, it’s preferred that the readers would! Glad you like the flow, it makes me feel like I’ve succeeded in my delivery. I still slightly regret posting the Interlude in the middle of Arc2, rather than after the end of Arc1, since I’m particular when it comes to consistency and this throws the format out the window XDDDD Minor issue ofc, just a personal pet peeve(?).

Yes, theoretical Yoshiko has always been able to call upon Lucifer, except of course back then she wasn’t aware of such situation. But this was also how she was able to find the bat back then, subconsciously attracted to the creature marked by their shared soul. And yes, that’s where those blank states of mind came from – Yohane’s presence was in the Forbidden Forest and the Shack at those instances. I’ll digress from commenting further, and yes some of these questions were sort of answered in ch16 😊

Indeed, why is Maru able to approach Yoshiko in that ‘berserk’ state? Maru is also able to sense Yoshiko somehow in ch16, so... more of that to come later on. The coelacanth and Yoshiko’s Patronus are definitely key points in this story. After all, this whole story was built from that tidbit about her Patronus saving Maru long ago, on the concept art :D

I’m unable to comment more on this for now though. As for the Selkie Chieftainess, she remarked the soul was split almost evenly but again that was the merpeople’s guess, based on what they could sense from witnessing Yoshiko’s Patronus.

Yoshiko and Yohane’s connection is definitely imperfect and not fully controllable. Emotions are a vital part of this bond. Your thoughts on Hanamaru’s part between the two are interesting and you’re astute on certain points (* ^ ω ^) more of that to come of course. This is Arc3, there will be resolutions.

\jimoai/ I’ve kept it subtle but there are always minor jimoai moments within their group scenes. The most obvious one would be the Xmas banquet. The guilty trash in me had them dance together XD Not gonna lie - Yoshiko probably had a minor crush on You since the beginning, at least she’s physically attracted to the charming Seeker. Alas, Yoshiko’s thoughts have always revolved around Hanamaru more. Crush or not though, Yoshiko has always been closer to You out of the Gryffindor trio. You has always encouraged her, is accepting of her and is playful with her.

Through the Selkie Chieftainess, Yoshiko learned more about the Fallen. The group did have major breakthroughs within this story’s timeline, and yes I do confirm this group didn’t just form recently, they have existed long before Yohane joining. Again, can’t comment on this much but you’re perceptive~

Just as Yoshiko can try to talk to Yohane, it’s the same the other way around as well. While I didn’t put a specific date, ch15 took place in early March, while the majority of Ch12-14 took place in the end of January. There was a huge hole in one of Yohane’s wings when the coelacanth Patronus first struck her, and there was another clash before Yoshiko lost consciousness back in ch14. So yes, to put it simply, neither Yohane nor Yoshiko’s HP bar is replenished yet.

Aha 8D I worry if I stress it too many times that Yohane’s using the sakura wand, but yay you noticed. Yes, since Yohane’s first on-screen appearance, she’s only been using Riko’s wand. Can’t answer your questions yet but it’s definitely there for a reason.

In the original HP verse, a Patronus’ strength is based on the caster’s soul/magic, thus some wizards/witches can’t even use it, let alone Dark ones like the Death Eaters. But it’s notable that evil b*tches like Umbridge can use the Patronus Charm, just sayin’. And yes, a Patronus is fueled by the caster’s happy/positive memory. Why could Yoshiko cast it and Yohane couldn’t?

OTL I feel bad, you bring up so many wonderful points but there are only a few I can comment/reply on XD;;;

If there’s no ‘Yohane’ and nothing happened to their group of 9, Yoshiko would’ve definitely found the feathered wings cool af and her belief in datenshi would’ve become even stronger. Alas, it is what it is, and having such ‘loose’ soul fragments is definitely not good, especially in the long run...

All very insightful points, definitely something to keep in mind as we slowly approach the climax of Arc3 (and the whole story).

You’re exactly right with Riko - you definitely don’t bounce back from repeated Crucios and only be a bit disorientated when you wake up. I tried to be as realistic as possible in ch16. In the original HP, we saw what happened to Neville’s parents. I’ll be frank - that’s what would have happened to Riko if she hadn’t worn the carbonado necklace.

Secrets definitely don’t stay secrets forever. The group has yet to tackle their biggest trial just yet.

Why do you like Love Live?

Hi, if you are reading this then thank you for at least giving this a look and considering filling it out. I made one a while ago but unfortunately I lost all the data I had on it. So I would greatly appreciate if you answer this as honestly and as detailed as you can. There are no mandatory questions so you are free to not answer any that you don't want to or do not think apply to you. This data will all be anonymous and no one else will know how you answered these questions.

 What was the thing that got you into the franchise in the first place? If you can remember, when was it?

I was introduced to the Nico Nico Nii through a friend around early 2015 maybe? Later, in early 2016, another friend of mine showed me famous YouTube fella SiIvagunner, and after constant reference to Love Live on that channel, that friend and I watched all of the anime. I never actually drew the connection between Nico herself and the Nico Nico Nii until she actually did it.

 Would you say you are enjoying the franchise more or less than when you started, and why?

Definitely more. It probably helps that I'm in the midst of Sunshine season 2, but exposing myself to all of the media surrounding Love Live, listening to the music and wasting far too much of my time on SIF has resulted in me absolutely adoring everything about Love Live.

 What aspect of the franchise do you enjoy the most?

Above all else, I think Love Live is just so wonderfully and consistently fun. Even the anime's most dramatic moments have a light at the end of the tunnel that just makes everything worthwhile. I think it's primarily because the girls of both groups are so likeable and easy to invest yourself in.

 Was there a point at which you started to fall in love with the franchise? If so, what was it?

My first watch of the anime was very fun, but it was actually the reveal of Maki's singing voice in episode 1 that made me fall completely in love.

 If there was one thing about the franchise that you would want done differently, what is it and why?

I think Nozomi's groping isn't funny in the slightest and in fact actively detracts from the experience by making Nozomi less likeable and also making the anime harder to recommend. Just removing that would be enough. I don't mind so much with Mari, because it's generally funnier and seems to fit more into her character than Nozomi's.

 Out of all the characters, which ones are your favourites and why?

Riko is my best girl. I think she has an absolutely gorgeous design, her cards in SIF are fantastic, and her voice is beautiful. Beyond that, however, is the fact that she's easily the best character in Love Live, IMO. She gets genuine character development and her relationships with (some) others are built and explored with tremendous results and both of these things are executed flawlessly, in my eyes. There's also her "normalness" that she so frequently makes mentions of. Riko's somewhat low opinion of herself makes her seem just all the more human, and she becomes super easy to relate to because of this. She's also got some personality traits and interests that serve to make her seem more of a believable person, but they also don't define who she is (Yohane's my second best girl, but a little too much of her character is Datenshi stuff).

My best μ's girl is Maki. While I won't go as in depth with her, I think her scenario itself is incredibly interesting. She's the 'rich princess' character, but one who doesn't recklessly spend their money on everything. Her parents aren't completely oblivious to the shenanigans she gets up to, they're in fact very controlling. Maki's one passion is music, and her parents don't support that at all, choosing Maki's own path in life for her. I think Maki is great to me because of what μ's means to her. She's actually a really great example of the message Love Live is trying to convey, using Idol time as an excuse to truly explore her passion, but beyond that, share it with others. Maki is somewhat shafted in the anime, and were it not for me having read her School Idol Diaries, I'd probably like her a lot less than I do. She'd still probably be best girl, but the media beyond the anime expands so much on Maki, and I think they're all vital reads. Also, I think she has the best singing voice of either group.

 Out of all the characters, which ones do you not like and why?

I can't say I'm all that fond of Umi. Her portrayal in the anime is almost exclusively the "strict, disciplinary type", and, while that archetype isn't inherently flawed, Umi never really dials down that role. She has her good moments, her chat with Eli, her talk with Honk before she runs off to see Kotori, and various jokes involving her poor poker face and her name. I also think she has an incredibly pleasing design, and I would say she has the 3rd best singing voice in μ's, but again, that anime portrayal is just a little too much, with her good moments being too far and few between. Reading beyond the anime definitely helps, in particular the chivalrous manga Umi and the far less strict SIF Umi, but even in those places, she struggles to really hold her ground against the others, in my opinion.

My worst Aqours girl used to be Kanan, because season 1 of Sunshine gave her about as much screen time as Shiitake, but season 2 has been nice enough for her to be bumped up in the list, leaving poor little Ruby in the spot of worst Aqours girl. I really do like Ruby, she's incredibly cute and a lot of comedic scenes come from her and how the others interact with her. Character interactions involving Ruby actually never fail to be incredibly entertaining. But she's my worst girl for a reason, or two in particular. In my opinion, Ruby has the worst singing voice in Love Live. She just never really sounds all that great to me, and she's totally overshadowed by everyone else in virtually everything she sings. Though I do admire her consistency, for Chika and You have great voices that unfortunately don't always lend themselves to whatever song is being sung, so Ruby occasionally outperforms them. The other reason is that, if you take away how she interacts with others, she isn't really very different from Hanayo. She's definitely a lot more cowardly, and she seldom ever confronts anything or anyone, but she's still a shy character who really likes idols. I would like to reiterate that this is only really the case when you strip away how she interacts with others, as she manages to distinguish herself enough in those situations. She's my worst Aqours girl, but I do genuinely like her a lot.

Do you have a favourite pairing(s) or ship(s)? If so, what made you first start liking them?

My μ's ships are fairly vanilla. You've got your NozoElis, your MakiNicos, and your RinPanas. I've also got HonoKotoUmi in there. I don't think it's complete without all three of them. Recently though, I've also gotten really fond of HonoMaki. Aside from just looking cute together in a literal sense, I think there's quite a bit to be found here. Take their first meeting. It's quite simple really. Honoka effectively just forcefully introduces herself to Maki while praising her musical ability and asking her to be a school idol. Standard stuff, but I think it's the deeper meaning that makes it good. Maki's entire life has been spent receiving compliments from everyone, but she doesn't care. The one thing Maki adores above all else is music, and nobody has praised her musical ability. That's all she wants, and Honk gives it to her. Had Honk not so enthusiastically praised Maki, and had Maki not been completely ignored in terms of sharing her passion with others, I don't think Maki would have ever composed START:DASH for μ's, let alone end up joining the group later. μ's means a lot to everyone in it, but Maki especially has a lot to value in it. She wouldn't have had this experience without Honoka. It's this that makes me really like HonoMaki, and I'm surprised it's not a more popular ship.

 As for Aqours, shipping there is slightly more complicated. I've got the standard fair of KanaDiaMari, an OT3 I shan't get into detail with. RubyMaru is obviously wonderfully entertaining, too. It all becomes quite hellish when I throw Riko into the mix. See, we've got ChikaRiko, which I ship and absolutely adore. I mean, have you seen literally any of Sunshine? These two mean the world to each other, and are the instigators of the others' development. They quite literally needed one another. I won't say too much more for fear of making this longer than necessary, but that scene in the Kimi No Kokoro PV where the two have a solo together? It's quite possible the best thing ever.

I also ship YohaRiko. Episodes 5 and 6 of season 2 definitely helped me like it even more than I already did, but I always just found the idea interesting. It started off with me liking the idea of Yohane having a crush on Riko, but over time, I began to adore the ship with Riko reciprocating Yohane's feelings. I can't even really explain why I like it so much. Maybe it's the fact that I think in terms of aesthetics, they go together better than every other ship? Maybe it's how good they sound singing together? Maybe it's "Riri"? I really don't know, but I adore it just as much as I adore ChikaRiko.

I also ship YouRiko. Also one I don't really know what to say about. I think the two would work very well together, and You seems incredibly flirtatious with Riko in season 1. Aesthetically, the two also go very well together - the gorgeous and feminine Riko with the more masculine buff girl You. I imagine Riko would die on the spot if You kabedonned her. I don't really know what else I can say about this one. Really, it's just as simple as me liking it.

I don't ship this quite as much as the other 3, but RikoMaru appeals to me a lot. I never really gave it much thought until reading the Maru 4-Koma where she and Riko get incredibly flustered being alone together, but it's yet another Riko ship I adore. Season 2 also teases it ever so slightly at the end of training sessions, where Riko and Maru make background comments about visiting the bookstore and such. I don't really have much to say about this one other than really liking it. I imagine the cute, almost childish Maru would have the biggest crush on the mature, feminine Riko, just envying every minute the two get to spend together. Riko would also find Maru very cute, and the two could bond over their more artistic interests compared to the rest of the group. Also that height difference is perfection.

 Do you have a least favourite pairing(s) or ship(s)? If so, what made you first start not liking them?

DiaRuby I'm not fond of, I'd hope I won't need to explain that.

I'm also not fond of shipping μ's girls with Aqours girls and vice versa. If I had to try and explain it, I guess it would be that none of them really appeal to me in the first place? I just think that most all of the ships within the groups are that much better. Not just that, but Aqours' story within season 1 of Sunshine relates to trying to be like μ's and later trying to form an identity of their own. I think that bringing Aqours that close to μ's kinda destroys that story and development. As far as Aqours are concerned, treating μ's like "untouchable holy ground" is something I'm completely for. Though mayhaps SIF All Stars will change my opinion on cross-group ships?

I'm also not fond of YouHane. I never really got the hype behind it, and I've never actually seen anything that makes me think it's that good. It really feels like a "pair up the leftovers" ship, given that the mainstream Aqours ships throw these two under the boat.

I don't exactly dislike YohaMaru, but it's one of those ships where I really can't care for it given how much more I prefer it as a BroTP.

 Do you follow any form of fan media? (Fanfiction, Art, Etc) If you do, which kinds and where do you usually go to find it?

I mostly just check out the Love Live subreddits and Tumblr for fanart, reblogging it on the latter. I've read Love Live fanfiction, but not much I've encountered has really stuck with me.

 How actively do you follow the seiyuu, and in what ways?

I don't really follow the seiyuu actively. I like exposing myself to seiyuu content, but I've never really properly seen much of it due to how much there is and how intimidating it is. Beyond that, in terms of entertainment, I'm in this fandom for the actual Love Live girls and the official media surrounding them. Seiyuus are cool, but I'm generally less interested in their shenanigans than everything else.

Do you play School Idol Festival? If yes, do you play on multiple servers, how often do you play and do you Whale often?

I play it only on WW and I've spent no money on it. However, I play it literally every single day, always making sure that my stamina never reaches full, for that would be inefficient, and I must always use all of it to the max.

 Do you own any merchandise from the franchise? If yes, what kinds and are you likely to purchase more? If no, are you considering purchasing some in the future?

Currently, I own nothing. Optimally, I'd own everything. Realistically, I intend on buying a Riko Nesoberi and Nendoroid as soon as I can, after getting a Switch and some games. Those Guilty Kiss Nesoberi coming next March are things I particularly want.

 If it did, how did Love Live change and/or affect your life?

To say it "changed my life" could be hyperbole, but then I don't really know. The easiest thing I can say is that I've invested a lot of time into Love Live as a franchise that probably could've been invested in something arguably more productive. Though I think there's something special about Love Live to me. I expose myself to quite a lot of anime or video games, and while all those that I like stick with me, they only really stick in my memory. They never really stay in the forefront of my mind. I mean, as of answering this survey, 2 days from now is my 17th birthday. Sonic the Hedgehog is a franchise that's been with me since I was old enough to play video games, but even with all the adoration that I have for it and have had for it for most of my life, it feels like it can't really compare to how much joy Love Live has brought me. I don't really know how to explain it. I feel like I'm just a slightly happier human being because of Love Live.

 Is there anything that you feel is missing from this form that you feel would be useful to know?

I think asking for opinions about the Love Live music itself would've been a good, fun idea. Questions like "any songs you listen to a lot?" or "favourite subunit and why?" would've been pretty fun to answer. Beyond that though, this was actually pretty in-depth, and I had a lot of fun writing it

The version above is from their best of album, I thought it was amazing as soon as I first heard it but something was missing among all those long instrumentals. Anyway, Claudia finally faces off against Uriel, Raphael, and of course the Pope Schneider, finally releasing the godslaying seal on her sword. Amazing song, also long as heck at 9:40 minutes. Overall I’d say this album is at worst a strong 9, I’ve listened to it back to back just too many times by now. As for how it compares to Dragonvarius, that’s a tough one, but this one certainly tries to be much more epic, which I like. Dragonvarius felt like it was on a much smaller scale despite the musical range being much larger. Anyway, lyrics down below and see you all next time.

Background: When she was about 5 years-old, her father had a premonition (he was a devil fruit eater), which led to her and her father leaving Skypiea to escape from Enel's future destruction. However her father got sick and she tried to cure him herself, as no one wanted to help, due to them being different, she became a very capable doctor, but she was too late and her father died. His last wish was for her to live a life she felt had a meaning. She continued to study as a doctor, to become someone that could help others. She went to Flevance to work and study under Law's parents and had been there for 3 years, when the disease broke out. During this time, she was able to slow down Amber Lead and diminished its pain, which led to the citizens calling her an angel, due to her looks and abilities. During the days of hope, she promised them that she would find a complete cure some day, but again she was too late and the extermination began. She fell into deep despair after failing to save their lives and was forced to watch, as the men took her away, as her brain was valuable, and continued their endless killing. She later published that the illness wasn’t contagious, as she had not gained the illness despite having been among them for about 3 years. Being ignored and bribed to keep quiet, she got furious and retaliated by becoming an infamous criminal. After 2 years as a criminal, she joined the Revolutionary Army for 3 years, but left, after thinking she was a burden. She later ran into Esther, who was trying to tend to Avery while running away from the marines. When they were surrounded, Esther chose to use her last strength to send Mireille and Avery off to a mountain. Mireille decided to tend to Avery, as she was saved by Esther and when he woke up, told him, what had happened. Avery sarcastically joked about how it was weird for someone to sacrifice themselves, for someone they hardly knew. Mireille started admiring Esther for being a person that didn't turn her back on others, which made her the first, Mireille met that didn't abandon others in many years. She eventually joined Avery in Esther's rescue mission and joined them for a short while, stating she needed a ride away before more marines came. She officially joined the Star Pirates after they took down the Bushima Empire. However she still hadn't revealed to the others that her real name was Aya, as she hadn't associated with that name for years.

Bounty: 593,000,000 beries. Reason for Bounty: At the age of 13, she went mad and created a drug only she could cure (at the time) and made the many men on the ships that had been at Flevance, lose all five of their senses for approximately 37 days. This made them panic and crazy (though she left a few to be able to care for the ones that lost their senses) and stole everything of value before running away. Then for six years she attacked and destroyed several marine bases and was accused for creating a plague that killed thousands (she actually cured the survivors). She did this both when she was part of and not a part of the Revolutionary Army. After a break of 2 years, she appeared again and used a drug that enhanced the beasts of an island to the point that they hunted down and chased out humans (she helped them gain back their lands, after humans had chased them away from their homes). She further more displayed new enhanced abillities that were close to devil fruit powers. Her rampage against the government went on and many government flags with a red cross drawn over would be left behind. During these years she has taken down thousands of bounty hunters, as well as criminals of the underworld. She later on joined the Star Pirates and her bounty rose together with their's on their several adventures.

Appearance:

Height: 5’11 ft./1.82 m. (6'2 ft./1.88 m. <----When wearing her heels) Tattoos/Birthmarks/Scars: None. Jewelry/Accessories: The heart on her hat, is a brooch and bottle filled with her special drug, she wears it in many different ways. She carries her potions and poisons in tubes and capsules, which she wears under her clothes and as jewelry. She wears fake nails filled/coated with a different poison and potion each nail. She wears gloves when not fighting, to be safe from them.

About the Character:

Personality: She is very sly and likes tricking her opponents just for spite and the fun of it. Additionally she will look down at opponents, she finds too weak to fight her and will even giggle while fighting/playing with them. She is high-spirited and confident, tends to disappear out of the blue and goes either by her own or Esther’s pace. She is rather secretive and doesn't share much, saying that she leaves it to others imagination. However it can easily be seen that it has something to do with the Government, as she gets easily pissed just by the mention of them. However she is also compassionate and is unwilling to see anyone die, even marines, and cures anyone close to death. She is very gentle to people she cures, but if they try to run away, she gets pissed and forces them to sit down. She can be very stubborn and courageous, as she never gives up, as well as considerate and loving. She tends to have a calming and heart-warming effect on people, since she's the type to compliment and listen to others and shows people a lot of kindness. She is humble and knows her own limits, but would grieve over her lack of power and would show it in a fit of rage or sorrow.

Phobias/Fears: People she cares about, dying one after another. Whenever she is reminded about Flevance, she will hear their screams and crumble in despair. Habits: She tends to create explosions, due to wanting to try many different things, even stupid things. Sometimes tests her newest drugs on her crewmates. When failing she will say "... times the charm" after what number it is, even if it is the 50th time she would say "50th time's the charm". Suddenly disappears to follow her own plans or ideas. Mannerisms: She is very my-paced and doesn’t listen well to others. She tends to ignore people completely unless she likes them. She acts all energetic and always sees things from a positive perspective. She giggles a lot, as she finds many things amusing. She is quick to run away to higher places and observes everything from there. She can be very manipulative and sometimes go crazy, where she destroys everything. However her energetic and happy mood disappears immediately if you ask her about her past or about what kind of person she truly is, as she seems mysterious to a certain extent. Skills/Talents: She is very smart and has a vast knowledge about plants, chemicals and various other subjects needed for her experimentations and potions.

Best Qualities: She is nice, gentle, warm and compassionate towards the sick and injured. Additionally she tends to help even strangers, as long as they need her help, sometimes even marines, if they're on the brink of death. She doesn't kill anybody and would never do anything that will certainly claim a life. Worst Qualities: She can go completely mad, where she loses sight of anything but the target. Additionaly she tends to be very manipulative and uses her looks for it. Morality/Ethics: She refuses to leave anyone to their deaths and won't kill. Also can't abandon people that seriously need her help. Goals/Motivations/Dreams: The downfall of the Government and Tenryuubito. Find a cure to Amber Lead, due to her promise with the dead people of Flevance.

Reputation: She is seen as the fallen angel, due to her wings and how she fell from the sky, (Skypiea). She was also known as a talented genius, blessed by God. People had high hopes for what she could accomplish as a doctor and even saw her as an angel, but then she used her knowledge to create a poison and became a criminal.
