The drummer in The Muse has improved! Lol, I love how the second he got a slight grip on his rhythm he went full electronic. If Muse with all their multi-instrumental talents wrote a song, Matt on the drums, perhaps Chris leading the songwriting, Dom with the bass the band got him, it might sound quite different to the Muse we know!

12 - Loss

Demons handle death and loss differently than humans, as their minds are less susceptible to trauma. Despite their long lifespans and general sturdiness, demons are well-acquainted with death – and not just because they know reapers personally. War and violence have played a big part in Kellan’s history, and the use of magic is not without risk. It is often the less powerful demons that fall victim to this. 

In many demon cultures, duels to the death are still pretty common, although bound by rules. For example, a third party has to determine the cause of the duel to be valid, and neither party is allowed outside help. When these conditions are met, the fight will last until either party is unable to continue, upon which the winner will decide their fate.

13 - Rebirth

The people of Themiya Ariz believe in the reincarnation of their people through the magic provided by Rianu and the gods. According to their religion a soul becomes stronger each time it returns. People eventually earn their sword and magic when their soul is mature enough. Arynus are held in high regard as the most experienced and therefore wisest souls among them. Other experienced souls are the Dorhima, or priests. Some of them are able to let memories from past lives resurface in the form of visions.

Kelathet is a magical thread woven out of enveryn, often beautifully crafted out of strands of different colours. It is used in rituals where individuals are bound together, such as romantic or platonic partnerships. Use of the thread is purely symbolic: as it dissipates there is no lasting magical connection that remains. Still, Kelathet rituals hold a strong emotional value among the people.

Regarding the supernatural, the distinction between truth and legend is often difficult to make. Demon scholars, Naturals – but also hunters – deal with these questions in their research.
