So when I said i was working on something Big Four related.... this was what i was talking about. I'm aware it's super sketchy, I'm gonna revisit it later and make it much cleaner, this is just my very first pass of this animatic. (((i got a toonboom harmony licence for my part time job but it was expiring TONIGHT so I just really rushed to get the ending done before it expired, so if the quality of the boards goes down hill near the end, that's why x___x )))

I've had this action sequence in my head for MONTHS and I finally decided to hell with it and try to get it down in my free time. And I had a lot of fun!! However, if you've never done an action sequence before, I HIGHLY recommend you don't start with a car chase.

A few things to understand for this Modern AU:

Jack is a ghost whose life source is tied to a mysterious pendant

They were in the process of transcribing a historical monument that might have a clue as to the history of said pendant

The fearlings are there to both kidnap rapunzel and inspire fear into them, to keep them from looking into the matter further

The fearlings are supposed to look like this:

Which in my opinion is a much stronger and scarier design than the horses in the ROTG movie, however it has the unwanted side effect in my boards of looking like black sperm.

BUT other than that, I hope you guys like it, god knows how long I spent on this. ;;w;; but man was this fun

after seeing a tweet about season 2 coming out I thought now would be a good time start The Bear to fulfill my need to have seen every single show in existence! I’ve only seen the first 5 episodes so far but here are my thoughts:

it seems everyone in this show except marcus (he’s just in the corner perfecting his lil donuts!! leave him in peace!!) teeters so beautifully on being absolutely detestable. some *cough cough richie cough cough* do venture into unlikeable territory but then when they do, the writers bring in a scene that instantly gives them an extra layer and shifts you towards empathy. it’s a really delicate balance but so far it’s working for me!

this is, at its core, a show about how to go about taking pieces of something broken and turning them into something better and beautiful, revamping it without discarding its true nature— and this is true in both the inwards sense, relating to carmy’s (and sugar’s and richie’s) grief and mental health in learning how to move on from a tragic loss but not forget your past pain, and then in the outwards sense as well regarding to the restaurant and the Chicago community, how to make a successful restaurant without forgetting the people they serve, how to not be a gunslingin’ dive but also not a gentrifying posh joint.

speaking of that internal turmoil though, I’m absolutely lovinggggg the bear motif and it fits perfectly with this idea! it’s like carmy has so much bottled up inside him, both good and bad, like his passion to change the restaurant mikey left him but also his pain and grief and sorrow, and him trying to let the bear out of the cage and slowly tame it or control it in his dreams is very reminiscent of someone trying to get a hold on their own psyche. but it’s like. no dude. you gotta let it all out, let it go wild! both the pain and the ambition! it will let you be more loving, be healed, and be a better leader! gosh, it’s so so good.

sydney is my GIRL y’all!! she has such a passionate, eager spirit about her that she can’t hold in and yet she also lacks confidence in a lot of ways and like. she is me!! I am her!! I kin this woman so hard. (that’s actually my first time using that word I hope I did it right lol). I’m so obsessed with everything she does, I can’t wait to see her grow and evolve as a chef, and to gain more confidence! also I need to learn more about her backstory right tf now like what was that catering business?? what’s her family like??

I don’t know where people are shipwise with this show?? it’s not a show that offers a lot of substantial material on that front but shipping is so much more fun when you have zero expectations and can kind of just go with the flow and take your own creative liberties so I like having fun with it. anyways I definitely feel a certain vibe with carmy and sydney but also marcus is so outwardly sweet to her when no one else is so I’m not mad about that either.

I think carmy and syd are like… two side of the same coin? they’re not the most alike but they’re not polar opposites either, they’re very much foils of each other and they each are the parts of the other that the other wishes they were. like sydney very openly wants to be skilled like carmy (she’s skilled on her own ways though might I add) and be a fearless chef and innovator, and carmy I think less-openly wishes he was like sydney: new, fresh, eager, not beaten down by the verbal degradation of high-end culinary culture, hopeful about the world and creative. I really like that sort of connection between two characters, it kind of alludes to a deeper idea that this bond was meant to be in a way? their chemistry is fucking fire too like wow

but then there’s marcus and sydney, which I think is cute because marcus has that sort of fun experimental eager green energy that sydney has and that many others (like tina and richie) have discarded or snuffed out, so I think he could be like a nice bright spot for sydney. idk. I need to know like a million more things about her character as well, she deserves all the screentime in the world. but in the meantime I’m just chilling, enjoying the little itty bitty crumbs that let me have my fun lol

anyways I’m sorry if that was too long for you lovely folks but I hope it was a worthy interruption to your regularly scheduled tumblr scrolling because I really love this show and I can’t wait to finish these last two episodes before moving on to this new season!!

2012 Separated AU because they deserve it

Separated AUs are insanely popular in ROTTMNT but I feel like 2012 deserves a few at least so I'll just throw some ideas around.

Foot Raised - If there is a separated Au the turtle in question normally ends up with the foot clan because it makes sense and lots of angst. This quickly puts the turtle(s) and the separated brother(s) at odds. Probably faces issues with empathy, self-worth and trust.

Kraang Raised - This turtle gets grabbed by the Kraang, poor soul. Likely suffers threw experimentation. Might have a link to TigerClaw due to shared trauma(TigerClaw Raised Turtle?). Depending on their treatment they may or may not want the Kraang dead. If they were just an experiment then I am sure they would love to destroy the Kraang. Identity, trust and commutation issues galore. If they were added to the military it might take a bit more convincing for the turtle to join up but they'll get thought to them. Lots of the same issues as Foot Raised.

Fugitoid - Probably one of the happier childhoods all things considered. The turtle won't look to out of place and gets cool space tech. They probably don't get much in the way of normalcy being on a parietal road trip but I don't think they would mind. Would give lots of angst to the others after finding out where their brother has been. Might a be fremmies with Mona Lisa as well.

Fearl - Someone left this baby alone for to long and now they are feral. Probably very protective, the only reason they are fighting his because they are family. Bites a lot. Lots of possible trauma here

I could probaly add more but this is all I got for now... How would I put it?

Black Ice - If How to Love Fear dragged me in, this one is what convinced me to stay. Jack finds Pitch one Halloween night and agrees to help him find his true center and a new way to use fear. What follows is a slow-burn, sci-fi fantasy epic that I finished in less than three days because it was so compelling! Complete.

Baddest Boy of Them All - A blackice Megamind AU where Pitch comes to Earth as a baby is not raised by the best of standards, ultimately deciding that if they're gonna treat him like a bad guy, he might as well be the bad guy. Jack becomes his favorite hostage. WIP, but updated regularly.

Rocks Give Way to Rain - The slowest of slow burns and mysteries and I am dying to see it's completion! It's long, it's epic, Jack has a much shadier past than we've been led to believe, and there's something up with Pitch and his shadows and Jack is determined to help out. ROTG Halloween day 2: Mumble

Sometimes, Jack needed to gather energy for a big snow storm. The best way to ‘charge up’ was to find a remote spot with lots of snow, where the wind could gather the clouds, and the cold turn the water in said clouds into snow.

Jack had never thought about how the clouds could gather thick enough clouds to hide the moon. It had never been a problem for him before.

He had gone to the Antarctic as it was usually the best place for him to recharge, and then he had gone to sleep. He didn’t realize until he was about to fall asleep, that he had dozed off close to the area where he had fought against Pitch. He idly wondered about the ice and sand sculpture his and Pitch’s powers had created, and if it was still there, but shrugged it off in favor of sleep.

He was woken by the mumbling.

So heavily asleep had Jack been, that he didn’t remember at first where he was. But that little part of ones brain, the one that warns you when something is going on, was forcibly dragging him out of sleep, as he heard voices mumbling, around him as well as to him?

He could feel one pressed against his back, warm and clingy as it leaned down over him, mumbling continously in an odd monotone voice:

Jack frowned and tried to move, tried to push the thing off... but he found himself being strangely heavy, as though something invisible was pinning him down.

“Wha...” He didn’t understand what they were... they were strangely humanoid, looking as though they were made of smoke, but felt more like Nightmare Sand as one creature that was lying in front of him reached out and brushed sandpaper textured fingers across his cheek, leaving behind a trail of black, shimmering sand.

Gotosleepgotosleepgotosleepgotosleep....

They were all mumbling now, the sound becoming a strange drone, almost like white noise. And Jack found himself unable to resist, closing his eyes and drifting back into a deep sleep.

The creatures, Fearlings that had been long asleep but had woken up after being reborn from deep within the ice, watched as their prey was lulled into deep sleep once more.

Now they could feast.

Looking for old fic, plz help

Soo many years ago, after Rise of the Guardians was released I read a pretty cool fanfic post-movie. And for the love of all I can find it. I recently stumbled upon some Rotg fanart and that reminded me about it. And I felt urge to read it again. Maybe someone could help me?

I don’t remember much of it. Only a couple of facts:

It was post-movie with a time skip

It was pretty long

The Lux Noctis: Moonlight

God, it took me forever but finally I bring you the next Lux Noctis!

Full disclaimer going forth from here, I took all the good stuff of the GoC lore and threw the rest away or completely made it up myself. In all technicality, the Lux Noctis are my OCs even though they're supposed to fill in the position of canon characters. That being said, ROTG and GoC do not belong to me as all of you should already know! All rights are with Dreamworks and William Joyce.

Moonlight is the Lux Noctis right after Starbeam, making her the 6th star.

Now, unlike the previous Lux Noctis, Moonlight's primary and only mission is to protect the next heir of the Lunanoff family. This means that she has not engaged in big battles against fearlings although she has had a lot of encounters with them as they have tried to attack the family on multiple occasions.

Moonlight is a caretaker first and foremost and a warrior second. The reason for this is because of Tsar Lunanoff VII, who did not get the chance to be with Starbeam much as he grew up and wanted his daughter Rose, the only female heir so far, to experience the bond of a Lux Noctis.

There really isn't much I have for her either but I like to believe Moonlight is the tired mom friend of the Lux Noctis, always having to make sure everyone else is safe. That also means that she is the only one with proper medical knowledge to treat the wounded or remedy the ill. She is, therefore, the healer of the party lmao. (but she ain't afraid to shoot if she's provoked enough)

This is also the start of the moon motif of the family lmao.

How do you think each member of the Color Crew would fight and then “fight” Damien during his Prom Fight Ending?

For Brian, I think it would be like Wesker vs. Chris Redfield, Brian is Wesker and Damien is Chris in this situation because apart of me believes that Brian secretly very strong

For Amira, I think she would go full martial artist’s on Damien because Amira looks like the kind of person who would know martial arts

For Oz, I think he would try and do some anime moves on him but I don’t really know how Oz would fight Damien

And for Vicky, I think she would use her overwhelming strength to overpower Damien because she’s a Frankenstein

So besides his slow approach and lazy attitude, going with the stereotypical modern zombie, I see that Brian is crazy fast on his feet and will also bite his opponents. I saw a video of the boss battle and holy crap it fits Brian! So he has monstrous strength and breakneck speed on his side; at one point dodges Damien, grabs him by the back of his head, and slams him into the ground.

I feel that on top of her Frankenstein strength, Vicky is also really skilled at kick boxing and a little wrestling; she’ll use a lot of submissive moves on her opponent. And because of her size and stamina she’ll climb her opponent to maneuver out of the way. She dodges and bats away Damien’s punches with ease and the gets behind him which leads to Damien getting suplexed.

In of couple of headcanons and au’s I have Amira as a mercenary, so on top of hand to hand combat she’s a master at knife throwing. I picture her being the kind of person who uses her environment to her advantage and will throw a chair or table to stun or distract her opponent. It maybe underhanded, but there’s no such thing as a fair fight when survivals on the line; she’s lived by that philosophy ever since she was a child. I feel that she used to fight in a lot of underground mma tournaments and uses majorly striking techniques. Also being a bad sport, she would taunt Damien the entire time.

Oz normally tries to avoid a fight but if he can’t or if someone he cares about is in danger, he turns into the most ruthless person. When the fight comes, He stands still not saying a word while Damien rushes forward; Vicky and Amira are about to jump in but Brian grabs Amira by the arm and places a hand on Vicky’s shoulder. Damien’s an inch away from Oz but suddenly he’s on the ground and a second later he’s screaming bloody murder and clutching his head while Oz stands there calmly and stares at Damien writhing on the ground. Nobody saw one of Oz’s fearlings slip inside Damien’s head. There are advantages to being the living embodiment of fear.

She's aware Frederick is married buuut...yeah. It definitely would be a one time thing, I don't think she would be interested after she got what she wanted: revenge and tentacle dicks.

I mean...it would be fun buuut Cindy is not Rozy. I feel like Velvet could potentially bring up even accidentally too much of her traumas and Cindy won't hang out with a rapist pimp without ending his life. She also chooses to not drink or do drugs in order to protect her voice; the customizing employees would freak her the fuck out. Also if she's stabbed for the fun of it, she will stab back.

Cindy carries a surprising amount of envy. She has suffered so much and she doesn't feel she 'got her reward for it' . Many would say cosmic level power IS a reward but sometimes it feels more of a burden. To know, to hear, to experience so much as a bystander. I think Leviathan could very much play with her anger laced envy, for a while. Until Cindy learns he has been holding her distant relative captive. Until he learns that she's a fucking Véghváry.

Cindy doesn't understand why the sweet angel of love doesn't hate her. It is extremely wholesome, touching that Cupid is trying to show her how love should work, you know without the murder part. I feel like it probably will be platonic, they are adorable, Cindy needs some kindness in her life...and idk if Cupid needs her chaos in hers though😂

Technically, he is too a cosmic horror & with my original lore about the creator of fearlings Serin'th adds an extra layer of spice. They...gone through so much, there are many layers, threads, jokes tying them together and honestly it's in my top 10 ships ever written.

Fun, chaotic and after a while Cindy would probably lose her patience.😂 I do like the concept and the shenanigans it would cause, the pranks, the 'alliances'; I think they would have a great time. But...she needs something more serious in the long term. Someone who is strong enough emotionally for her because she is not.
