Listen, William Joyce didn't give us the other 7 Nightlights. Joyce left them alone and all we really know about them is that they existed and turned into stars because they completed their duties.

But the truth of the matter is they're just kids that weren't allowed time to develop. So I said fuck that and gave them form and let them take a nap because you know they deserve it after what they've gone through. Also i ignored the "Nightlights can't sleep" thing for this. Let them be happy and take naps.

On Handwriting - Lux and Noctis Headcanon

Noctis and Lux have what people tend to consider perfect penmanship. Both of them received the same tutorship, but their handwriting is distinct from one another's. Noctis' has more variation, much like you'd expect from someone handwriting something, not all letters will look the same. Lux's looks more like it was done on a computer, each letter looking near identical unless you take the time to pick it apart.

Lux's handwriting ( print ) is clean and often times looks like he made a font on a computer and typed something up. And its not because he takes his time while writing, though he’s certainly not rushing to finish whatever it is he’s writing. 

Noctis's handwriting looks far more like anyone else's though with a measured neatness to it. Often times if he's taking quick notes for class, it can turn into scrawl that is legible, but not up to its normal neat standard.

Lux's script ( cursive, calligraphy ) is used for more formal things. Letters of thanks for this or that, or invitations for formal events that he helps his father write. It’s obvious when it’s his writing, it has his own flair and flow to it that is not taught in formal classes. All the same, it looks beautiful, and the point of it is to impress. His signature is written in this writing, as one would expect of a signature, though it’s rather jarring when one sees it along side something that was printed like a date or his name in just normal writing.

Noctis rarely uses anything other than handwriting for things, but has the same style as Lux when it comes to calligraphy or cursive. The only difference is that again, Lux's could be used as a font, while Noctis' looks like a person wrote it.

On Protection - Noctis And Lux Headcanon

This is primarily a headcanon for Lux, but it has a lot to do with Noctis ( mine at least ). Because Lux is not considered anywhere near as high a priority as Noctis is, given that one is the King of Light that literally everyone has been waiting for for eons, and the other is an unexpected genetic anomaly. The Lucian Kings were only ever supposed to have one prince, and while Regis may treasure both of his sons, only one needs to survive. Both Noctis and Lux are aware of this, and Noctis will use his status as the crown prince and the more important of the two to make sure his brother is kept safe.

Threat to only Noctis’s life? Well he’s gonna make sure that he is taking his brother everywhere, now nothing can happen to him. Not enough guards to keep both of them safe? Noctis will carry Lux in his arms, because being unable to separate them means that he has protection. Being separated from his brother for one reason or another? You better hope Noctis is unconscious, otherwise he will warp into harms way to make sure they stay safe together. 

Noctis has absolutely no qualms with throwing his taller brother over his shoulder and carrying him off if it means that he will be safe.

Nameless Star.. Now that's a juicy ask~ It's quite obvious she's leaning toward what Stella Nox Fleuret was going to be, as well as Yozora being what Noctis was supposed to be in FFXIII Versus.. It's going to be interesting seeing how they melt into KH~

Under a Heavy Moon

The moon glows heavy over Tenebrae. Full past the brim, as always, its dense assemblage of lights buzz with an anxious energy so intense you can almost hear it. Long gone are the days when the moon's light brought joy to the night, when it still had room to spare, when you could note the passing of years by the gradual accumulation of soft lights, ever swirling about their circle among the stars.

In the Silver Period, when reverence for the moon was at its highest, its ensorcelling display of entropy was perhaps best captured by Lux Noctis, Carminoff's famed series of dances. A favored performance of the literati for the entirety of its run, each showing was unique, featuring choreography that was more of a fluid process than a fixed pattern. The dancers, bedight in their flowing white gowns, were in constant motion, elegantly twirling individuals undulating about as a synchronized mass, coalescing and dispersing as the movement saw fit. They were at all times circumscribed by an invisible rim, and it was said that a single foot never crossed that line as it arced across the stage, such was their cohesion.

Carminoff regarded Lux Noctis as a living performance and continuously adapted it to reflect the changing nature of the moon, steadily adding dancers throughout the years to account for the increase in lights. But keeping up with the growth soon proved impossible, as the unhurried trickle of lights inflected into a rushing torrent, quickly turning it into the moon we know today. Its muse forever changed, the Silver Period came to a close, taking Lux Noctis with it.

Now, of course, not even the most macabre artist would dare to draw inspiration from the moon, lest they invite association with the Lunatics, the fabled cult that many blame for its sudden transformation and continued growth. No, any sane citizen of Tenebrae rightly views the moon as an object of dread, a portent of violence hanging over us every night. Tonight, its luminous swell bulges beyond its limits, distending to a nascent teardrop. All eyes watch that droplet grow. All hands prepare for the moment when, like so many of its forebears, it will break loose and fall to the city below, carrying death in its wake.

with s rank selector coming out next patch, i kinda need help deciding who i should pick

some context: next patch will have an s rank selector up to capri (requirements for getting the selector are similar to the selector back in nanamech patch). iirc theres also a weap selector up to capri too, and ive already decided that i'll get capri's weap since i already have her at sss but w no sig

incoming big info dump below ↓

im gonna omit entropy, lumi, rosetta, and capri from the list since i already have them at sss or higher

so that leaves: empy, plume, glory, garnet, luna, veritas, alpha, teneb, pulse, and ember

most of those characters are at ss0, only exceptions being glory and teneb with ss4.

here are the main builds i use for everyone (minus ember and pulse, they just borrow mems if i ever need to use them which rarely happens now):

note plume, glory, garnet, and teneb have MULTIPLE sets reso'd (like multiple dps sets or dv set etc etc), i just use what theyre currently holding now the most

whoever i pick i'll essentially just get a small rank up (since you need like 3 copies to sss), the ppl closest to sss are teneb and glory (both are around 2 copies away from sss), but i'm debating on if i wanna get a "head start" with trying to sss empy, luna, or plume (mostly empy)

some side comments i should probably mention:

ice qu doesnt really interest me that much, my ice team rn is kaleido/wanshi/glory but if i want more dmg i'll do kaleido/plume/glory (which explains why glory is carry dv in the screenshot earlier). plus i kinda doubt i'll be playing this game actively post nocti patch so getting qu isnt really smth i have in mind

i dont have scire, nor do i really plan on getting her since her playstyle isnt my thing (i basically skipped ppl from pulao - bambi so that i could get s+ hyperreal lol) (so if i ever do get scire itd be from standard). my dark team rn is luna/teneb/capri

lamias cute but like i mentioned in the first point i doubt i'll be actively playing after nocti patch, so getting her isnt really on my mind rn

i dont use alpha or veritas lol— my phys team is entropy/lumi/rosetta and my lightning team is garnet/arclight/lux

On Magic and Appearance - Noctis and Lux

Both princes will have their eye color change when using magic naturally ( not a flask ) and summoning. Noctis’s is far more pronounced, his eyes changing from the normal blue to red when he uses larger spells or summons, and changing to a more purple color when using smaller spells. It is an indication of the strength of the spell and the crystal he is linked to.

After getting the Ring of the Lucii, Noctis does not use it hardly ever, only when in a tight space where he is either fighting something or someone that could kill him easily or needs to defend his friends. Any magic used through the ring leaves those disintegration marks on his skin, which will fade with time. They do not appear and disappear instantly like they do in game, it is a warning of sorts to the prince to use in moderation.

Lux already has an albinism trait, and his eyes are normally purple, the lack of pigment causing the red and the crystal’s slight influence giving a blue tone to create the purple. If he uses any magic, no matter how strong or weak, his eyes turn red entirely.
