I’ve been thinking about Malva from Pokemon XY for almost a week now and I love her <3 She has such a pretty design and such a cool concept!!
So I wanted to draw her! This was a fun multimedia traditional art experiment to do! >:]

Propaganda under the cut:
Blackberry:
Okay I did not expect to be submitting a literal deer (though she's an anthro deer) who is only debatably a girlboss but hear me out here. So in this universe, the world is (/was) colored by the wielder, a title given to whoever wields this one brush which has the unique property of granting color to the world and being connected to its user. Most characters who we know were wielders, namely Cardamom (Blackberry's mentor who described the pressure of being a wielder as overwhelming and gave it up after a few years) and Chicory (who we don't know the wieldership length of from my knowledge, but was shown to have been very messed up by everything regarding being a wielder and presumably was not a wielder for more than a few years), were so messed up by the combination of the pressure of the title and having an empathetic paintbrush carrying the burdens of many other animals under pressure that they gave up their title quickly. Blackberry girlbossed her way into holding this title for decades, making her time as wielder and time withstanding that pressure remarkable. Also I don't know how to describe it but she looks like a girlboss. I'm sure she absolutely was one as a wielder. She just also has problems. Blackberry is somebody who expects perfection from herself and often others, namely her apprentice Chicory. Unfortunately Chicory was under a lot of expectations under her apprenticeship and bottled many things up just to seem perfect and meet what Blackberry expected while not feeling able to speak up. Blackberry, meanwhile, genuinely tried to be Chicory's friend, but saw imperfections in her which she bottled up until it was time to give Chicory the brush, where she refused to give it to her, causing Chicory to finally break under the pressure put into her and take the brush despite Blackberry's lack of approval. Following this, Blackberry is very critical of her old apprentice, but, when the protagonist finds out about this and brings it up to Blackberry, she doesn't feel at all happy to have left things like that but also doesn't know if she'll even talk to her old apprentice again and thinks that too much damage was already done. Also she herself gets to have a boss fight which is really just the embodiment of her thoughts debating whether she's a terrible monster or completely innocent regarding what happened, so moral grayness assigned by boss fight but only kind of because she was refusing to consider moral complexity there
Malva was submitted without propaganda.

Yknow, I think the funniest part about Malvas design is that from the Holocaster, yeah she looks like a news presenter. The lack of sleeves is a bit out of the norm, but it's still a nice sweater, glasses, and a mostly formal hair style.
Then you remove the desk and add colour and realise nope, elite four evil team admin-

I'm just saying that if we get Malva's ancestor in PLZA, that I hope they're decently important to the plot like their great(?x)-granddaughter should have been in XY.
Please. She's so underrated and deserves this. 🙏
