I'm just gonna say her in my air-gapped little vent bubble that I'm seeing people get pissy about puriteens discourse and pretty much every person who gets mad about that term are anti-ship people. Like hm I wonder where the puritanical tendencies might be coming from and manifesting as guys. I wonder what it is (anti-shipping and policing peoples expressions of sex or romance in fiction that are Icky To You). Is that not what a puriteen is? Someone young who is overly invested in making everyone else's expressions of sexuality and sex match their own personal comfort levels because its Icky and Bad and Uncomfy and Should go Away instead of realizing many people are Adults and even non-adults have the right to express sex and sexuality without being targeted for being Unsafe and Bad just for embracing or expressing sexuality?
This is separate as an issue from, say, people not tagging their NSFW correctly (obviously bad form and many people speak up on that regularly in sane and civil ways), or specifically targeting people with content they don't want to see (that is harassment). But like... puriteen is very much a category of person, and much like the term Karen, I would argue if you get upset about hearing it, it's probably because it hits too close to home for you and you don't like being called out as the bad guy.
