Back in early 2021 I took a 3D Concept Art class where I ended up entirely modeling my OC Kei. It was a really fun learning experience! Results are pretty good, but not quite what I hoped for certain areas, but was extremely informative and fun all the same!

Started of course with turn arounds. I had to design a prop for him too so this is actually where his dagger originated from.

Then came the actual modeling which took about... 5-6ish weeks? (the entire class lasted 10 weeks)

Then I got to pose, texture, and color him! His final turnaround came out pretty good!!!

And I had to make a render to show him off! Pretty cool, right?

The entire project was done in Zbrush, posed in Maya using a quick rig, textured in Substance Painter, and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.

I think everyone should get a regular ol pair of jeans and use them to document the most wonderful experiences of their lives a la sisterhood of the traveling pants. A scrapbook of the best people, places, things. Its a great reminder when youre feeling down in the dumps.

I started my The Pants a few months ago and still have so much to add to them. Ive been anxious and stressed and sad the past few weeks and I went home this weekend. On Friday night I put my The Pants in my suitcase and forgot until I opened my suitcase tonight and it was the kindest gesture of self-compassion I've ever made. I hugged my The Pants while I cried and crying didnt feel so bad while I had that in my arms, in fact I might even say it felt cathartic. It made me feel closer to who I was before this wave of depression hit and it makes me think I will in fact be able to go back to being them.
