that really, really means a lot to me...because idk, i really do think i work hard and try my best? legitimately? and i also used to always put my writing before my mental health, but i'm finding that when i do that, the quality of my work actually suffers a lot more than it succeeds and i, as a real life person, suffer for the sake of my work.

I could NOT parse the expectation of that setup #like I saw that and was like. so do you want me to do it badly? or do it so excellently I deliver all I think in like 100 words or less? #cause I'm capable of one of those things and the distinction is important here #and like. yes I know it's a language aptitude test. they're looking to know if I speak english #and I Have done something like this before multiple times just with a different language. but that was. idk I have never had a ladder here #I know I speak the language. Hiiii okay so I'm only partway through my history degree BUT I do have a particular interest in medieval sexuality so. I realize this is a horny blog. Um. Medieval sex information anyway. Basically:

The only -acceptable- sex in medieval Western Europe was procreative penis-in-vagina sex between married people

So while obviously oral sex is documented (I think someone in the notes of your original post pointed out the Canterbury Tales as one example) it wasn't -acceptable-

However, since most of our written records from that time (and the stuff that gets focused on!) is from upper class and/or religious types it's hard to say what your average peasant thought about oral sex.

(But I bet it if you put the effort into digging, some scholar or other has gone through annals and art history and whatnot and put together a solid guess)

So! In conclusion: no, it wasn't acceptable in most of the records we have but it's possible that the average peasant in 11th century Wherevershire, England didn't really pay attention to that at all.
