I just fucking discovered that Volnutt low key reads dirty magazines in Legends 1 and I find it fucking hilarious. It would be Barrel’s fault that Boy does not have Supervision.

But it also brings up a not so fun implication that Volnutt tries to look as mature as he looks. I mean he isn’t even fully adopted, he's just barrel’s apprentice and just does Dig jobs. He’s kinda the breadwinner of the family. So there’s moments that he wants to look mature in front of others but has a naive/childish sense of how he would see himself as “grown up”.

So it would be a very awkward yet hilarious moment of him being caught by X by accident, while doing some grocery shopping.

X: Chestnut, what in the world are you reading!? That is incredibly inappropriate especially for your age!

Volnutt: H-hey come on dad! Gramps lets me read this stuff at times! It’s what grown ups read right?

X: No son, I’m not judging anyone aside from profesor barrel but you can’t read that it’s not educational nor appropriate for your age

Volnutt: Then what else can I read then? Most books I read are just for important stuff, it’s not really fun aside from some history stuff but that’s it…listen I tried but it’s not worth it for me. And people would make fun of me if I read kids stuff Sorry Dad…

X: Actually I think I can help you solve that problem…have you at least heard of “Lord of the Rings” by any chance?

Volnutt: Maybe..? Are you talking about the old movie right?

X with a smile on his face: Yes! Well actually the movie is an adaptation from a book that shares the same name! The book and its author’s writings were the first things that your Grandfather Cain gave to me when I first started learning literature during my childhood years. I’ll be happy to pass you a restored copy of it!

Volnutt: Really thanks Dad! I'll be sure to read it when we get home!

X: Trust me Son you’re gonna love them. Especially its themes it be right at your alley
