How much editing do you do before you post fics?

#i basically post first drafts #when i go back and look at them later i notice stuff that i would have cleaned up or tightened if i had stuck it in a drawer to age #(i'm a big fan of leaving drafts to mellow in the dark before you come back to edit with fresh eyes) #but basically i've decided that this is a hobby and i don't really need to present the absolute best version of every single fic #like i care don't get me wrong #but i'd rather have it posted when i have the time than lovingly polish each one #so i can get it out of my head and move on to other stories and also all the IRL stuff i have going on #if it's plottier or covers particularly sensitive subjects then i'll probably give it a closer look #but other than that i basically proof-read and send it out the door once i feel like it's basically finished #not to say quantity over quality but I seem to have a lot of ideas lately #but not any more time to write

Something I will say in advance of the ToS remaster:

Any new or revived fuckery I see aimed at sequel fans nets you an IMMEDIATE block. The western fandom has been Enough of a toxic shithole about that for the last *checks dates* 15 years.

My BS tolerance ran out years ago.

This goes DOUBLE for new fans--do NOT pick up a fight you never had a stake in just because the Cool Kids are sitting on another game. :| I've seen that behavior many times, in both Tales fandom and other fandoms and it never gets less pathetic.

Any take about the sequel and how it's trash and bad and should never have been made any anybody who likes it should be put down for terminal lack of taste (I'm toning DOWN what I've seen said) has been made several hundred times already.

I'm not saying people have to like it!

You can hate it with every fiber of your being! We may never agree on it, and that's okay!

What I'm saying is that even with disagreement there's room for us all in our own corners of the fandom, so cruelty is unneeded and uncalled for.

If you wanna talk shit about the sequel that in and of itself is fine, just do it without making personal attacks on the fans of the game. (Also, as a polite request: please either don't cross-tag, or use a dedicated negativity tag as we for filtering purposes. That makes it even easier to express your negative feelings without shoving them in the faces of the fans!)

what i love about s7/totj ahsoka is that she …moves slower? like maybe it’s just the animation change, but looking at her in that style makes me feel calmer?? like she’s definitely chilled out a shit ton. which, of course, she’s older and went through some tough shit, but it really makes the weight of what happened to her catch up. she moves slower. she takes longer to deliberate. she’s guarded. she’s still hot headed, but it feels like every movement is calculated and precise. idk how to describe it

#been on antidepressants for like. over a year now #it is fucking crazy to me how fucked up my mood used to be and how i thought it was normal? babe i was mood swinging off all the walls #all the time. non stop. always angry at eve minor things and now i am the most mellow person in my house #the only things that have pissed me off to any degree have been very reasonable things to be pissed off at at my job lmao #things that used to upset me or made me so anxious i wanted to literally explode and die dont affect me anymore #did smth wrong at work? manager got mad at me bc i was unintentionally rude bc i was frustrated at smth else? #past me would have thought about it non stop for like a week and probably cried on the spot #not anymore baby i am sooooo adjusted!!!! #apologise for accidentally being rude or go oops my bad at thing i did wrong and move on with my life #it's so easy #wish i had been on antidepressants sooner lmao
