The weirdest part was that in a few months worth of dating, Mikoshiba Seijurou had never once mentioned Momotarou. It bugged Kou a lot, especially because Momotarou seemed to have some kind of immediate crush on her.

Granted, the two Mikoshibas had said exactly the same thing to her when they’d met, but it had actually led to something with the elder one. Still, were they cloned or something?

“I’m sorry, Kou-chan. Seriously,” Mikoshiba Seijurou said, hurrying after her with the cone of ice cream balanced precariously in his hand. “I had no idea that he’d meet you and try anything…”

“You wanted him to be on my brother’s team. How could we not meet?” Kou huffed, picking up her pace.

Sadly, Seijurou had the lankiest legs on the planet, and a half second later he’d caught up to her and stepped in front of her, wielding the drippy ice cream at her until she halted.

“Kou-chan, I’m sorry. He’s a handful, it’s true, but…so am I.”

“That’s true,” Kou said, sticking out her lower lip. “So what am I going to do about it?”

Seijurou smiled down at her, his eyes lingering the tiniest bit over her pout. “I’ll talk to him, I promise. And after that, if he’s still after you, I’ll set your brother on him.”

Kou chuckled, it was impossible not to think of that scenario without everything becoming hilarious quickly, and probably to the detriment of Mikoshiba the younger. “That would be a mess, it’s true,” Kou admitted, and then blinked because suddenly Seijurou was very, very close to her.

“Kou-chan. You’re way too cute,” he said, his eyes almost dark as he looked at her — and then his expression turned comical as he realized that his ice cream was making a mess of his hand. “Ah, shit.”

Kou laughed again, but this time she steadied his hand and raised the ice cream to her mouth, neatly taking care of the dripping part with a few swift laps.

They were both blushing when she was done. She couldn’t even meet his eyes. It was the nearest thing to a kiss they’d had yet.

“Kou!”

“You’d better eat the rest of that, or you’ll be sticky!” Kou commanded, and turned away to hide her blush.

“Y-yeah!”

Heh... I couldn't sleep because of heavy rains last night, so I wrote up this. Just a little drabble. Takes place pre-ES.

Word Count: 309

"Shouldn't you be leading practice right now?" Gou looked up from her magazine.

"Their are vice captains for a reason, Gou-kun." Seijuurou replied, closing his own magazine.

"But what about you practicing?"

"I set a tournament record, Gou."

She just shrugged then went back to flipping through the Muscles Monthly. After a few moments of silence, she looked up at him, noticing he hadn't gone back to reading.

"What's with that look?" Scarlet eyes stared questioningly at golden ones.

"I just still can't believe this is real," He trailed off, "Us, I mean."

"And I can't believe my unsupportive brother is the only reason we happened."

"Actually, about him..."

"You still haven't told him?" Why am I even asking... I would definitely know by now...

A reluctant smile and a nod.

"Well then get going, pal." She patted him on the back, just another excuse to feel up his muscles. "I wish you the best of luck in the war that's about to begin."

"I thought today we could-"

"Nah, I rather get this over with." She started to rise from her seat, but he encapsulated her small wrist with large hands.

"Can't we enjoy the privacy..." He leaned towards her, stopping inches from her face, "A little bit longer?"

Gou responded with a light peck on his lips, to which he kissed back with more force.

When they broke apart, she found herself staring into his eyes. This was a look reserved for her.

The moment ended with Seijuurou's face suddenly melting into worried expression.

"I-i'm sorry! Was that too rough?"

"Look, Mikoshiba," She poked him square in the chest. "I'm okay, how many times do I have to say it?"

"Sorry, sorry," He slid his arms around her lower torso and rested his chin atop her burgundy hair. "I just don't want to screw this up."
