NOVEMBER. digging the first warm scarf out of the wardrobe. white chocolate. the scent of perfume still clinging to the leather strap of a wristwatch. steps echoing in empty hallways. trips to museums followed by endless discussions at a nearby café. short red nails and cold-flushed cheeks. morning pilates. sleek black notebooks filled to the brim. the hunt for the perfect turtleneck. paperbacks in paper bags. pumpkin soup. the glow of buildings washed in fog at night. powdery gourmand fragrances. knit sweaters and short skirts. green tea for a floral-fragrant wake up call during a long day. constantly fighting the dread armed with a full calendar.

Currently Reading: The picture of Dorian gray. Very cool so far, Basil is too good for everyone else in that book.

Currently listening to: Black metal. And some more black metal. I especially like I Väntan På den absoluta Nollpunkten by Blekinge and harvest by Naglfar.

Currently working on: a poem that has been stuck in my head for quite some time, but I can’t seem to find the right words.

Current Obsession/s: what are souls made of? Do we have souls? What are they made of? They have to be made of something, or our whole view on the universe is wrong. Or we don’t have souls.

DEZEMBER. pink-cold hands. enticingly shimmering heaps of individually wrapped marzipan or chocolates. glittering lipgloss. the tiresome search for heeled boots. plum jam. the scent of wet-cold pine trees. face masks every Friday. raspberry flavoured cough sweets rattling with every step. cashmere and wool. dinner at the Christmas market (crêpes or yeast dumplings, the scent of caramelised almonds). hours spent journaling. Hoffmann and Tschaikowski. perfumes resembling spun sugar, marshmallows and smoke. bedtime yoga. fairy lights reflected on wet asphalt.

Money’s tight - which of these ordinary luxuries do you still buy although you can’t quite afford them: Red wine, Belgian truffles or fresh flowers?

When money was tight, I lived off eggs, rice, beans, and pasta. OP and I must have different definitions of “money’s tight”.

Thus, answer is neither. But I did waste money on books when I had it.

On that note: Nazis, Radfems and other such hateful and gross people have no part in the aesthetics this blog represents. The whimsical, the dreamy and the beautiful are inherently contrary to the disgusting things they stand for.

An hourglass with red sand; without being moved, the sand reverses itself.
