The day following Eddy's conversation with Helena, a resolution was reached: it was time to bid farewell to Chestnut Ridge and begin the journey homeward. The family had lived amidst the tranquil beauty of the ridge throughout the summer, making the decision to conclude their stay a few days ahead of schedule.

As the sun dipped below the horizon on that final night, a serene peace enveloped the campsite. Lucile meticulously put the finishing touches on her canvas and enjoyed a final ride through the hills with Lady.

Meanwhile, the rest of the family directed their efforts toward preparing for the departure, tidying up their temporary abode, and securing their belongings for the upcoming journey.

The concluding evening spent in the camp seemed to radiate a familial unity unlike any they had experienced throughout the entire summer.

With the dawn of their homeward journey on the horizon, anticipatory chatter echoed throughout the campsite. Remarks about the discomfort of sleeping on the ground for an extended period danced through the conversation.

Amidst the exchange of such observations, Eddy seized the opportunity to share tales of yore. His gestures were spirited and his storytelling was delivered with an enthusiastic flourish, recounting the hardships faced by pioneers along the Oregon Trail and the fateful journey of the ill-fated Donner Party.

Gasps of astonishment emanated from the children as Eddy spun his tales, his dramatic narration captivating their attention.

Helena observed her husband's animated storytelling with a soft smile, well aware that he might be taking certain liberties with the grisly details. She chose to remain silent, delighting in their children's wide-eyed reactions.

Lucile's expression morphed into one of sheer disbelief as Eddy's narratives unfolded. Who could have fathomed that a mere journey across distance could carry such dire consequences?

" I'm so lucky to have a warm bed waiting for me back home. " she thought

Even Silas, typically reserved and detached, found himself caught up in Eddy's storytelling. The vivid descriptions, whether exaggerated or not, painted a descriptive image of the trials faced by those pioneers. The notion of resorting to cannibalism was repugnant, yet it allowed Silas to drift back to his childhood days, where he and his friend Jackson would share chilling ghost stories.

That night the Harringtons slept peacfully and with the first light of dawn, the horses were meticulously groomed and the wagon carefully laden for the journey homeward.

The road stretched ahead, a seemingly endless ribbon of dusty trail. Weariness settled into the bones of the travelers, yet as verdant landscapes gradually replaced the rugged expanses, an air of rejuvenation enlivened their spirits. The familiar scents and sights of Henford beckoned like a comforting embrace, infusing the journey with a renewed vitality.

The animals, entrusted to the care of the hired ranch hand during their absence, bore a contented demeanor, their coats gleaming from attentive grooming and well-fed bellies.

Though a layer of dust had gathered within the house that was a job best for tomorrow, for now everyone simply enjoyed their time back home after a long day of travelling.

1505 FAMILY TREE DECADES CHALLENGE

Some Updates!!

Here is the new update to the ultimate decades challenge family tree. as you can see Catherine and Gilbert had two more kids since the last update. twins!! which was a huge stress on Catherine, hardly getting any sleep and no time to clean around the house or even take care of herself. Revna and Joan (the twins) aged up today and sadly Revna the oldest passed from measles. The whole family is devastated by this death, especially Joan. Catherine can't help but wonder if there was anything she could've done to keep her healthy and fears the same fate for her other children and her child on the way. An Unexpected Love Story 1890 Part One

Eili and Ivan

Sims life in 1890 is difficult. Many struggle to survive with limit resources and Word is, many are leaving for Henford on Bagley, a place far away across the hills, which may provide better life.

Eili is a young girl who dreams of love and a family of her own one day. Ivan is the son of a woodworker, bound for Henford on Bagley, when their families purpose a marriage

the problem is....

Eili and Ivan believe each other to be the most unattractive sims they both have ever laid eyes on!

Eili, always swooning with her nose in a book.

Ivan, brooding and quiet with wood shavings always caught in his hair.

Not wanting to disappoint their families however, they agree to the engagement.

Ivan secures a loan and starts a farm where he spends his days tending to the crops, chickens and cows while Eili tends to her small garden and the home.

At night, Eili and Ivan sit by the fire, awkwardly trying to find some common ground. Ivan, is determined and persistent though, even if he does find Eili terribly unattractive.

Then one night, she decides to join Ivan at his woodworking table, and something sparks between them at last. They banter, sharing jokes and stories. When Ivan reaches for her hand, she does not pull away.

Later, Eili gifts Ivan a pair of socks she knitted and a painting that he hangs in the bedroom.

Despite rocky starts, love begins to bloom at last.

Maggie is beside herself with happiness. She thought it would never happen but there he is, the man of her life asking her to be the woman of her life.

Heir~ Gilbert Hamond Wife/Mother~ Catherine Hamond Son~ George Hamond Daughter~ Anita Hamond Catherine and Gilbert also have another baby on the way! hopefully, she doesn't pass or the baby. we have been lucky so far and no one has died as of yet! The Two infants have been very frustrating to look after for Catherine, she is cleaning the house and also running around to feed herself and her husband while the two babies are crying constantly. Just hoping we can keep Anita alive at least while she is a teen so Catherine can have some help around the house.

Trois femmes aux ombrelles

And we're back at the regular 1880's fashion with this set which inludes bustle skirts in 3 lenghts, 2 skirt overlays, 3 flower accessories, a parasol and an umbrella !

As referenced in the title, this set was inspired by Marie Bracquemont’s painting : Trois femmes aux ombrelles ou Les Trois grâces / Three Ladies with Parasols or Three Graces, 1880.

Once again, these skirts have a slight bustle shape which would best fit for the natural form era : roughly 1875 - 1883 ; (well actually, the size of the bustle is dependant on the size of the sim’s butt so do with that what you will). They are more ornate than my Cueillette skirts featuring some gathered layers and trims typical of the period, so they would be better suited for higher class people or more dressed up occasions.

And as always I give you 3 versions with each a different lenght to have more teen options and worker friendly options . The short one end mid calf, the medium one is ankle lenght and the long is full lenght.

To properly channel Marie Bracquemond's painting I needed a bunch of flower accessories so you will find 3 accessories in this set : a hair flower, a collar flower and a boutonnière. In my opinion these are pretty timeless and can suit a wide array of looks as portrayed in the pictures below.

These are all edits of @the-melancholy-maiden's Hair Flowers Through the Ages Part 2 thanks to her very open TOU.

none of these are compatible with hats

I made both an umbrella and a lacey parasol (using Javi's texture). These are rather timeless too I think, they are definetely suited for late victorian and edwardian eras.

A Celebration 1900s Part 7

Benjamin and Astrid

Benjamin and Astrid's Wedding party lasts long into the night, with his youngest sister Francis providing music for the guests. Benjamin and Astrid manage to sneak away from the party for a brief while, sharing a passionate kiss. Willamina, also shares a first kiss with her love interest.

After the guests leave, Benjamin and Astrid head off for a brief honeymoon where they stay at a lovely inn and celebrate, just the two of them....

Joan Delicate was astonished when she learned that she was granted her great aunts large home, while she wasn't entirely sure how she would maintain this land by herself, she did hope that the brilliant ambiance would inspire her!

Joan is an aspiring author, a place like this could offer her the peace she needs to create new ideas, but the pay for her current position isn't very high, she isn't exactly well known, at the moment she simply edits the daily paper

While some of the furniture was a little old, but not by much, they seemed to have been made around 1890, that's only what, 20? 30 years? Ah, Joan wasn't too worried about the latest trends anyways.

Cloth Diapers for Infants

I use @teanmoon’s tied cloth diaper all the time for the toddlers in my ultimate decades challenge and I needed a version for infants, so I decided to edit my own. Unlike the original, the knot here is not 3D because I can’t mesh but also the 2D knot works better for infants I think. This just uses the bg infant diaper mesh with an edit of teanmoon’s texture.
