[Un]happy 191 years to the Patron-Minette’s attempted ambush of rue Plumet (June 3rd 1832)!
Tumblr media
“‘Friends! Listen carefully. It’s not on. Now I’m doing the talking. First of all, if you enter this garden, if you touch this gate, I’ll scream, I’ll bang on the walls, I’ll wake everyone up, I’ll get you nabbed, all six of you, I’ll call the police.’
‘She’d do it, too,’ said Thénardier in an undertone to Brujon and the ventriloquist.
She nodded and added: ‘Starting with my father!’
Thénardier went up to her.
‘Not so close, little man!’ she said.
He backed off, grumbling between his teeth. ‘What the hell’s got into her?’ And he added: ‘Bitch!’
She began to laugh with a terrible laugh.
‘Whatever you say, you won't be going in. I can’t be the daughter of a dog since I’m the daughter of a wolf. There are six of you, but what do I care? You are men. Well, I am a woman. You don’t frighten me, not for a second. I'm telling you, you won’t be going in that house, because I don’t want you to. If you go near it, I’ll bark. I told you, the mutt is me. I don’t care what happens to you. On your way, you’re boring me! Go wherever you like, but don’t come here, I forbid you to! You’ve got your knives, I’ve got my fists, we’re even. Come on, what are you waiting for!’”

Javert: 2, 3, and 14 (I tried to check whether you’ve done these and I don’t *think* you have, but apologies if so.)
All for Javert!!!
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
I like everything about him tho 🥺 I answered a lot of why I like him so much in a prior ask, but another thing I love about him is his sense of humor, strange as it is to say. Voulez-vous mon chapeau?, Party's at 7?, I have the claws of a woman!, etc etc. He seems to me to be that sort of person who's so dry and stern, so when he hits you with his brand of sarcasm, it catches you off-guard. Hugo says that he never allows for a moment's fun, but I feel as if he does get a lot of enjoyment, a lot of enrichment from putting criminals like Patron-Minette away, and his sense of humor in those moments really does charm me. My friend Inspector Javert is the funniest person I know
3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?
I don't like that he's such a hardcore monarchist, but I genuinely understand how a man like him with his sort of upbringing (and worldview shaped by said upbringing) would fall into that sort of political leaning… conservatism is based on fear, Javert is described as "despairing" over society, and Big Authoritative Country Ruler Monarchist makes the bad thing go away…! "Power is power"… etc etc. That being said, I do genuinely think that all the characters having their own political stances is really interesting to dive into. One of the things I have planned to go over for my Javert meta is a deep dive into the politics associated with Javert, so I've been reading a lot of Joseph de Maistre. Please. Send help and ibuprofens
14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
(meaningful pause) … Haha!… Yeah! Th-thanks for coming to my blog! And asking all these questions! Haha! Um… (looks left, looks right) (loud staring) ………….. Leather daddy

“I have come to sleep with you,” I think it’s one of the best lines in the Brick!
The initial impulse while reading this chapter might be frustration with Marius. His seemingly aimless musings, which Hugo attributes to excessive daydreaming and lack of work, could certainly agitate the reader. However, before passing judgment, consider them as indicative of deep depression. In addition to his past traumas, the incident at the Gorbeau house was a jarring experience for him. He believes he has lost his beloved forever, can no longer even call her "Ursula," is unable to work, has lost his source of income, and his clothes are deteriorating. According to Hugo, all Marius can do is daydream. Hugo then delves into contemplations on the perils of excessive daydreaming, and he acknowledges that it can lead to tragic outcomes: “By dint of going outdoors to think, the day comes when one goes out to throw one’s self in the water” (why does it always involve drowning in suicide? Was it the only way Parisians killed themselves in Hugo’s time?) But I suspect that Hugo mistakenly takes depression for “excessive dreaming.” At this point Marius is not explicitly suicidal but just wait for it. The way Hugo explains Escousse’s and Lebras’ suicides as stemming from an excess of “reverie” also, in my opinion, underscores his misunderstanding of the situation.
However, what truly and consistently vexes me, though, is Marius' unwavering determination to pay the debt to Thénardier. Even after witnessing the despicable acts committed by this man in the Gorbeau house, this itch appears to become even stronger. To the extent that Marius has broken his personal taboo against borrowing from his friends (actually, should be singular, his friend Courfeyrac). I can partly comprehend why Hugo chose to portray abominable Thénardier as invincible and unsinkable, yet this doesn't prevent me from becoming upset and irritated with individuals who have the potential to be harmed by him and yet still inadvertently empower him by providing him money (not only Marius, but also Jean Valjean).
And of course, I should say something about Javert as he was mentioned in this chapter. It’s rather amusing that he has forgotten Marius’ name and was unable to trace him when he needed him! Javert, who is usually so sharp and almost intimately knows his Pattron-Minette and their associates, forgets the name of a lawyer who came to the police station to report a crime. This only reinforces the notion that Javert is solely interested in individuals when they are involved in criminal or potentially criminal activities. He must have been disappointed in Marius, whom he initially commended for his courage, but whom he suspected had faltered at the last moment.

The Little White Horse: Robin Minette
In continuation with my analysis of the novel, the Little White Horse, by Elizabeth Goudge, I want to cover the characters and the main themes of both the book and the movie.
Here's my thoughts and opinions one Robin De Noir, and Robin Minette, two wildly different characters
TL;DR
My enemy.
My beloathed.
The one I despise!
This boy is insane, he is the definition of toxic masculinity, he’s only a child and already he sucks, and I know for a fact he will never get better because he is never punished for his actions.
And what did he do wrong?
Well first I would like to remind you all of my beautiful, wonderful, fantastic, baby-eyed Robin De Noir. I have no idea how we got Robin De Noir out of Robin Minette, but I am forever grateful.
For starters, Robin De Noir takes the place of Mr. Cock in LWH. Where Mr. Cock has trapped the hare, Robin De Noir has, where Maria gets chased by Mr. Cock in the book, she gets chased by Robin De Noir in the movies (and yes, technically the Coeur De Noir and all of the De Noirs are chasing after her as well), where Maria and Mr. Cock run through the forest so she can show him the White Horse, she and Robin De Noir run through the forest in search of the pearls. Additionally, he is no longer Robin Minette, Loveday Minette’s son, but the son of the Coeur De Noir, and Loveday’s brother.
One, this change is already ten times more dynamic. Throughout the book, we are only told that the De Noirs are wicked, and it isn’t until Maria’s last minute change of heart about them that suddenly they aren’t. Those poor people are demonized in the book, and are not given any sympathy. Now I hear you saying, the movie was the same! They were evil until Maria decided she needed Robin’s help!
I need you to go back and give Augustus Prew his due, because that boy acted his ass off. I don’t think I’ll be able to go over all of his exemplary acting choices, and I may make a separate post for that, but that will require gifs and screengrabs. Anyway! There are several scenes that show us, the audience, that Robin De Noir is just a boy who is trying his damnedest to make his father proud of him. We see this when the Coeur De Noir calls him a ‘dolt’ after the rabbit trap, and you can see his face just fall, he is devastated, not that he lost the princess, but that he disappointed his father.
We also see this when Robin quickly decides to help Maria. The very first time I watched this, I didn’t really understand his reasoning, but once I started thinking about it (probably about the time I started writing fic and needed to get inside of his head) I realized that he is fundamentally good, just born on the wrong side of the valley. Robin chooses the Valley over his father, he chooses to help Maria despite not even fully trusting her, he is beside her until the very end because he knows she is doing the right thing, because he loves the Valley and wants to save it. So, despite what we are told about the De Noirs (as by sir Benjamin, who calls them bandits, poachers, and plunderers) we know from visual cues, Robin De Noir’s desperation to be a good son, and his choices at the end, that the De Noirs are not purely wicked.
Robin Minette on the other hand can die on a stick. Robin and Loveday Minette are actually a part of the Merryweather family (more on that later) and are not associated with the De Noirs at all.
So what are all of Robin M’s sins?
Well, if you’ve heard about the bird theory, it is the simple idea that when you call out “oh look, a bird!” the response of your partner/friend/companion should be “where!” Not because they are necessarily interested in the bird (though they should be) but because you are interested in the bird. The logic being that the person will listen to whatever random, boring, stupid thing you’re saying because they are interested in you, and are not looking at you as a source of entertainment. It’s a very simple, and beautiful concept, that shows a person who is interested in you, is interested in you!
Robin Minette is not interested in Maria.
I say this because in the book we are told multiple times that whenever Maria asks too many questions, Robin just walks away. He does not answer, or even asks her to stop, when he is astral projecting into Maria’s dreams, he just leaves the dream and wakes up. Again, this is in conjecture with one of Goudge’s morals: female curiosity is of the Devil.
“All my life, Robin, I'll always tell you all about everything." “And I'll tell you," said Robin. “If I didn't you'd ask me so many questions that life would not be worth living."
This is not an okay lesson to teach to children, any boy or girl should not be learning that her voice does not matter, that her questions should be squashed, and that curiosity is a bad thing. I genuinely have no idea where Goudge got this idea from, other than it is just a very old and misogynist viewpoint. It’s not even Christian, as scripture encourages followers to study, and yes that includes women.
I don’t think it is a harsh stance to take that a character who walks away from another while they are talking, is not interested, or in love with that character. Maybe possessive, but not in love, and it's certainly not the kind of love anyone should be idolizing.
Furthermore, like most entitled men, Robin Minette has anger issues. I don’t want to quote the entire section, but I can post it somewhere because it is absolutely insane.
After Robin and Maria defended Paradise Hill from the De Noirs, they go back to his house. Since it was raining, they had to change out of their wet clothes. For whatever reason, Loveday Minette decides to put her old wedding dress (that she never wore because she ran away) on Maria.
Maria loves it, and asks if it can be her wedding dress, and Loveday M says yes.
When Maria joins Robin in the kitchen so they can have tea, Robin asks what that is.
“It's my wedding dress. I'm trying it on to see if it fits." "Are you going to be married?" asked Robin sharply, his munching jaws suddenly still. “Of course," said Maria, reaching for the cream. “You didn't expect me to be an old maid, did you?" “Are you being married today?" demanded Robin. “Of course she isn't being married today, Robin. She isn't old enough to be married yet. But when she is married she will wear that dress." [Loveday] “When you do marry, whom will you marry?" Robin asked Maria. Maria swallowed the last of her bread and cream and honey, put her head on one side and stirred her tea thoughtfully. “I have not quite decided yet," she said demurely, “but I think I shall marry a boy I knew in London." “What?" yelled Robin. “Marry some mincing nincompoop of a Londoner with silk stockings and pomade in his hair and a face like a Cheshire cheese?" The parkin stuck in his gullet and he choked so violently that Loveday had to pat him on the back and pour him out a fresh cup of tea. When he spoke again his face was absolutely scarlet, not only with the choke but with rage and jealousy and exasperation. “You dare do such a thing!" he exploded. "You--Maria --you-- if you marry a London man I'll wring his neck!"
Now, you’ll notice three things here:
One, the fate of all Moon Princess’ is to get in a fight with her love, and if she doesn’t humble herself, she’ll be forced to leave Moonacre. This is something Maria knows at this point.
Two, Robin is a thirteen, fourteen year old boy displaying this much anger, possessiveness, and audacity. This is not something he is punished for, and he gets away with this behavior.
Three, his mother is right there???? And her chief concern is:
“Robin," said his mother, “that's not at all the way to propose. You should go down on one knee and do it in a very gentle voice."
Ma’am your son is a maniac and you’re giving him tips on how to propose properly?
Now, I want to swing back to my first point. To state it very plainly, this is one of the reasons as to why people stay in abusive relationships for so long. Maria knows that if she and Robin hadn’t made up right then and there, she would have to leave Moonacre. This language and ideology puts the blame on the victim’s shoulders, making the victim feel as if they have to be the one to make amends, to fix what is broken, and appease the abuser. This is the cycle of abuse that is seen time and time again, and while Goudge does not frame this as an ideal relationship we can gather that based on all that Maria has learned, it is her job to keep the peace.
Am I calling Robin Minette an abuser? Yes, yes I am.
Maria immediately forgives his behavior, Loveday is obviously okay with it, because she does nothing to stop him or scold him, and Goudge obviously sees this as okay male behavior.
It's preposterous and yet this book is only eighty years old, we can obviously see people who behave this way, and we all know people who are like this. However, I think we have finally pivoted to presenting this behavior as abusive in media and art. Too often we think of abuse as just physical, but so often it is emotional, financial, and sexual, and the consequence of that mentality is people suffering abuse thinking that they aren’t because they don’t get black eyes.
Here, I would also like the mention the BBC miniseries, Moonacre. The Miniseries is boring, it’s praised for being a more direct adaptation of the book, however they do make some major changes, especially to the plot. They add this thing about the ‘Blackheart’s’ having their water supply being cut off, all their wells are saturated with saltwater, and they blame Sir Wrolf for cutting off a pipe that would lead freshwater back into the valley. In this, we do get Loveday and Robin (still mother and son) as De Noirs. Loveday is the direct descendant of Black William, and despite teaching her son to hate the Blackhearts, he is also a De Noir. Robin Minette in this movie is boring, he doesn’t get mad at Maria for asking questions, but all he really does is show up at convenient times to save her from the Blackhearts. He’s fine, he’s not as problematic as Robin in LWH, but his character is not as compelling as Robin De Noir in TSOM.

@aspoopalypse tagged me to post 5 songs i've been listening to recently and, following her excellent example, i will include exegesis
money trees / kendrick lamar ft. jay rock
i've been getting back into kendrick recently in preparation for lolla and this song goes fucking crazy, both musically & lyrically. i'm obsessed with the refrain "the one in front of the gun lives forever" like are u kidding me...
brackish / kittie
i have just started getting into kittie-- for a long time i was, for some reason, under the impression that they were more riot grrrl, which is not rly my thing. but upon hearing this song (i KNOW it's their most popular -_-) and realizing that they're actually nu metal, i'm obsessed and frankly idk who is doing it like them. girlmetal forever.
la fleur / juno
it was between this and "falling in love" but fil is so new there's no yt vids other than anime edits lol. anyway, juno is a friend of a friend, and i think he 100% deserves all the success he's had so far and then some. this is a fucking BANGER and i've had it on repeat for like the past year. PLS listen to juno (and maybe see him on tour!) i promise u won't regret it.
plain jane / a$ap ferg ft. nicki minaj
i just have to be honest with u guys. i started listening to this song after ferg played my school and now i'm addicted to it even though the way he says "alhamdulilah" drives me CRAZY. i literally asked my friend who speaks arabic abt it and he was like yeah that's not even close to correct. WHY DOES HE SAY IT LIKE THAT. perversely, though, i think that adds to the draw of the song for me bc it's so absurd. nicki adds a lot though, esp bc "eat a barbie ass or smth" is so much better than "suck a n**** dick or smth" (weakest line in the song by FAR).
the ballad of sweeney todd / sweeney todd 2023 broadway cast
again, this is me being so open and honest and vulnerable with u all. i don't even generally like broadway very much but sweeney todd is my comfort movie (problematic i know) and i have been obsessed with these cast recordings since they started coming out. i love these songs sm and the vocal performances are truly beyond.
ty if u read all this, u are so brave. i will tag @oceanmoss @hauntinghouse @patron--minette @wizardbisexual and @opiumvampire if y'all want to do this

Finally a recent photo of Minette.
Enjoy this list and thanks @paarthursass for making this list!
Baldur's Gate 3 Companion!Tav Ask List
What if your Tav was a recruitable companion, instead of the main character? (contains major spoilers for the game, and for some dark urge runs as well)
General
Where can your Tav be recruited?  Are they first encountered on the Nautiloid, or in the Nautiloid crash region?  Or are they not recruitable until a later act?
Minette appears later on in act 2, she was tasked by her temple to stop the acts of necromancy being used in the shadowcursed lands, they meet near Shar’s temple, Minette was paying her respects to the dead there before going to venture inside the temple, you can also recruit her earlier in act 1 near the the ancient temple.
Do the other companions have special comments or reactions upon recruiting your Tav?
Astarion would find it funny that they now have a cleric of death in their camp.
Does your Tav have any comments or advice when you recruit other companions?
When recruiting Jahirea she said it would be good to have a veteran with combat like this in their ranks and that PC chose well
What sort of general actions raise or lower their approval?
Being kind to the less fortunate will raise her approval, her approval will also be raised when defending Astarion against the drow in Moonrise. Her approval will be lowered if PC tells Arabella straight off the bat that her parents are dead or not help Arabella in the grove, her approval will also be lowered if you decide to help Balthazar
Are there any instances where your Tav can permanently leave the party, depending on player character actions?
If she is not romanced she just acts as a mere observer in the party, she will try and guide PC onto the path that is not full of destruction, Minette would leave the party if Astarion is ascended in Act
Do they have any secrets that can be revealed?  What are the prerequisites for this secret coming to light?
A secret can be revealed that Minette has a loth-sworn twin sister that she almost killed, which is more reason why she no longer ventures into the Underdark. If the secret comes to light Minette will admit how she was full of regret when leaving her sister to be molded into a Cleric of Loth, that she should’ve stayed and been the bigger person and tried and guide her to a path that isn’t full of such pain
Do they have their own personal quest that spans the course of the game?  Can it take different branching paths depending on the choices the Player Character makes?
Her quests can be started in Act 2 after one long rest, she speaks to PC about her mission of trying to hunt down Balthazar and put a stop to his horrid acts, After the fight with Balthazar she will thank PC for helping her finish her mission and that she will lend aid with their tadpole problem. After they get back to camp a bird would appear for Minette that will speak about how her whole temple were now under the control of the tadpole because the head cleric wanted more power. This spans to her wanting to save or end the suffering of her friends.
In Act 3 more stuff will come to light about how her twin sister is in Baldurs Gate trying to spew chaos and get more people to worship Lolth, Minette wants to finally try and right wrongs with her little sister. After they put an end to the temple's suffering she gets word that her adoptive mother was also pulling some strings which fuels Minette with hatred. There are different branches of how Minette will act depending on what PC decides when it comes to the temple and then the whole thing with Minette's family, but none of them are bad to where Minette will become ascended of sorts.
What do they say when the Player Character asks them to stay in camp?  How about when the Player Character asks them to come adventuring again?
Asking them to stay at camp, “If you are sure, my friend. I will sit here and pray that no harm comes to you.”
Asking her to join you, “Consider it done, my friend. Let's show our foes who they’re messing with.”
Does your Tav have any escalating conflicts with one of the other companions, like Lae’zel and Shadowheart’s knife-fight?
No, she gets along with well with everyone in a way
Are there any unique NPCs associated with your Tav that can show up during the course of the game?
Yes, a few
Are there any moments in the game that trigger unique dialogue for your character? (Like Gale’s anecdote about the barfight after you save the goblin prisoner)
In Act 2 after the first introduction with Kethric Thorm Minette sighs, “Dear gods, people playing god now?”
Story Specific
How does your Tav advise the player character when it comes to the Dream Visitor?
“We do not know much about this ‘visitor’, I do not trust them. It could be someone in disguise.”
How do they advise the player character on Raphael?
“A devil never offers out of the goodness of their heart, they always find a way to fuck you over royally. This man perfected the craft of manipulation.”
How do they react to Astarion biting the Player Character?
“Vampires can not control what happened to them, you’re making his life a little easier.”
How do they react to the Player Character letting Abdirak whip them?
“Whatever your kink is, this was entertaining.”
How do they react to the Player Character taking their first tadpole power?
“You wanted power didn’t you? Dear, is the dream visitor convincing you to do this? Before you think, no I am not mad.”
Will they stay with the Player Character regardless of siding with the goblins or the tieflings, or is it possible for them to leave the party permanently?
Minette would scold PC for siding with the goblins but would stay.
What can they be found doing at the tiefling/goblin party?
Minette would be sitting near Withers
Do they have comments on who the Player Character chooses to spend the night with?
Nope
Do they have unique dialogue if the Player Character lets them die when they steal the Blood of Lathander?
“What in the nine hells were you thinking!? Leaving me near a murder device!“
—> I thought since you’re a cleric of Kelemvor, it wouldn’t hurt you
“Sweetheart, there’s a difference between being a cleric and being immune to the power OF THE SUN.”
How do they react if the PC licks the dead spider in the Gauntlet of Shar?
“Oh dear, please stop licking the spider, it can’t be anymore healthier than the worm in your brain.”
What do they say if the PC tries to force them to go up on stage with Dribbles the Clown?
“Oh dear… I’m going to smoother you later.”
Is it possible for your Tav to be kidnapped and replaced by Orin?  How is Orin's deception revealed?  How do they react to the PC rescuing them in the Temple of Bhaal?
Nope
How do they react to the PC either allowing Astarion to ascend or convincing him to spare the 7000 spawn?
Ascending-> “Astarion was making such good progress! What the fuck were you thinking? Do you not know someone wouldn’t be able to think correctly in a place like that?”
Spare-> “I am so proud of Astarion, he was able to break the chains of his former master and save the spawn… though I hope they’ll be able to contain their thirst in the Underdark.”
How does Tav react to the PC becoming a mind flayer?  Can they offer to become one themselves?  Does their reaction change if they’re romanced?
Minette doesn’t offer to become one
PC becomes one -> “Dear, you have made such a notable sacrifice, I don’t know what will happen after this but I’m proud.”
Romanced -> “I… I do not know how to feel about this love, I will stay by your side though. I will make sure the emperor doesn’t even lay a finger on your tentacles.”
How do they react when the Dark Urge first reveals their amnesia and murderous thoughts to them?
“Amnesia? Well, hopefully, you’ll get back your memories dear. Though the murderous thoughts? People do have intrusive thoughts, just do not act on them dear, only when you need to during combat will it prove useful.”
How do they react to the Dark Urge killing Alfira?
“The bard is now with her teacher now, may she rest.”
If romanced, how do they react to the Dark Urge trying to kill them in Act 2?
After PC regains consciousness, “So… tell me everything you remember about these urges, love… along with this butler.”
Romance
Is your Tav a romanceable character?  Are there any specific requirements to romancing them?
Minette is romanceable, the only requirement is to be with her during the goblin/tiefling party
Does your Tav need to be flirted with to start the romance, or will they approach the PC themselves if approval is high enough?
Minette will need to be flirted with and have at least good approval
Are they a polyamorous or a monogamous option?
Polyamorous
Do they have a special romance scene at the tiefling/goblin party?
Minette does! She will take you to a building she was able to find so you two can get to know each other better, the choice for sex is opitional
Does the romance have different branching paths, or just one route to take?
Minette would have a few depending on how you treat the people talking to her throughout act 2 and act 3
How do they react to the player character breaking up with them, or choosing another character over them?
Breaking up >”Oh gods… Did I… Did I do something wrong? Never mind that, thank you for giving me a chance.”
Dark Urge attempt to break up > “My love, you are so much more than these urges, we all have our demons. Show me all of your murderous desires and watch me love you anyway.”
Choosing Shadowheart over Minette > “I am not heartbroken dear, I would’ve done the same if I were you. I hope you and Shadowheart have a lovely time together.”
Choosing Astarion > “I understand dear, I hope you have a great time with Astarion. Please let me know if I need to heal you in the morning so you are not suffering from blood loss.”
Choosing Wyll> “So the Blade of Frontiers caught your heart? Wyll is perfect for you my dear. I hope you and Wyll will create wonderful memories.”
Choosing Karlach > “So, the warrior of the hells has caught your attention? I am not heartbroken dear, I can see the appeal in Karlach. I hope you have a wonderful time with Karlach.”
Choosing Gale > “So our wizard of waterdeep caught your heart? You both deserve your happiness and I’m glad you found it in Gale.”
Choosing Lae’zel >” So Lae’zel made you feel like you can take on the world. I am not mad dear, the woman clearly is new to this and I’m happy she can experience this with you.”
What questions can Zethino ask the PC about Tav in the Love Test?
What makes the Clerics heart flutter > You
What does the cleric fear? > Losing what she has left of her family
What is the cleric's favorite encounter? > Meeting you
If they’re poly, do they have a reaction to the PC engaging in a relationship with Halsin?
“Dear, I am not fully blind. I saw how you look at Haslin. I know you want to climb that mountain. Go ahead, maybe I’ll join the two of you one day.”
How do they react if the PC has sex with Mizora? The Emperor?  Haarlep?
Mizora> “I hope the taste of the hells were worth it dear, just please let me know next time so I can give you the aftercare that the devil clearly lacks.”
The emperor > “I will admit, I am shocked… but as long as he made you happy.”
Haarlep > “Dear.. you do not have to sale your body just to get this hammer, there is other ways.”
Will they join in with the PC and the Drow Twins, or no?
Yep!
What are Tav’s plans for the future?  Do they propose to the PC, or is marriage not something they’re interested in?
Minette would go wherever PC goes. She loves them and wants to be with them wherever they go.
For dark urge > If Durge had a redemption arc, she would help PC go through their guilt and find some place nice away from bhaal and baldurs gate.
Free space! Share anything from your companion!Tav au!
Minette would have an old family photo at her tent of her and her family.
If clicked on, “You look at the picture, it seemed like it survived a fire, who is the girl next to Minette?”

For the ships, Cerebella/Ms. Fortune?
Dont worry my dear friend i got your second ask, these will be SFW :) - To say there initial impressions of each other arnt the most positive to say the least is an understatement. - Obviously there first interactions are when cerebella, eliza, and black dahlia hunted down the fishbone gang and murdered them all and dahlia tried to kill ms fortune as well. tossing her pieces into the river. -This wasnt what cerebella wanted, she didnt want any of this. She was loyal to vitale but this? she didnt want to do any of this. -She runs away from the medicis surprisingly with the help of eliza (Seems eliza felt pity for the girl in a strange way) and helped set up a fake death. -Cerebella on the run decides to hide out in little innsmouth as it was the best place she could think of to hide away from the medicis. she had heard some stories about goons being chased off from there for some reason. - Of course as she is hiding out she runs into the ms fortune we know. At first ms fortune wants to fight her, worried she came to finish the job as well as wanting revenge. But when cerebella drops to her knees and starts sobbing does she stop and realize something isnt right. - Cerebella tells her everything that happened through tears, explaining vitale basically raised her and she just wanted to make him proud but she didnt want to kill anyone she just wanted to make him proud. she thought they might just rough the fishbone gang up a bit and get there stuff back and she had no idea they were going to kill them and she feels so sorry for what she did -Ms fortune should be angry at her, she was part of the people that took her friends and family away....but she cant. She knows what cere is saying is true, she can tell she didnt want any of this. Ms fortune actually feels sorry for her, obviously another one of the poor folks that have suffered at the medicis hands. just in a different way than most. -nadia cant hold a grudge against her, and tells her she doesnt hate cere for what she did, she was just a pawn of the medicis and offers to let her stay with her above yu-wans restaurant.
-cerebella agrees and thanks her so much and the two of them start living together, doing the usual of helping yu-wan out and chasing off anyone that creeps on minette. -Over time the two of them begin to grow closer, at first there friendship was awkward due to everything that had happened but the two of them grew closer and warmed up to each other. -Yu-wan makes an off handed comment about how he likes ms fortunes girlfriend and is glad she found somebody that loves her and cares about her. Ms fortune is extremely flustered and denies it saying they are just friends...but that seed is now planted in her mind. she had to admit, she found herself loving spending time with cere and the two of them had become inseparable. She also had to admit cerebella was easy on the eyes for sure, a real cats meow. -nadia starts being nervous around cerebella, flustering each time she looks at her and spends time with her. Her mind constantly drifting to cerebella and she cant get her out of her head. Of course ms fortune had a reality check when she had a dream about cere, that was when she knew it was official..she was in love. - Little did nadia know cere had feelings for her as well, of course cere hid these feelings. Her inner guilt to strong over what she took part in, she thought nadia didnt deserve somebody like her and sat with yu wan and told him everything and confessed her feelings. Yu wan said to follow her heart, that he saw goodness in her. But cere was still nervous and wasnt sure. - Eventually ms fortune begins the hunt for the skullheart, wanting to bring her friends back. Cerebella had her back the entire time and also wanted to fix the mistake she made. The two travel together and finally the moment arrives, nadia standing before the skullheart. but the two of them know what will happen, they know how the story would end. Before nadia can decide cerebella finally couldn't hold it in anymore and finally confessed her feelings, letting it all out on how much she cared about ms fortune and how much she likes her and how she cant stop thinking about her and she is going to support her no matter what she does but she is afraid for her. - Of course nadia is stunned, she felt the exact same but never believed cere would feel the same. Standing there in confusion before tearing up and pulling cere in for a kiss, tears of joy falling from her eyes as she says how she feels the same and how she loves her and promises to protect her and would never leave her side. With there newfound love nadia decides the skullheart isnt worth it and together the two of them destroy the skullheart. -when the two of them get back yu wan runs out shouting and scared, minette was taken! and many other of the young girls in little innsomouth were also kidnapped! cerebella and ms fortune knew exactly who it was, the two of them agreeing to rescue minette and the girls and stop the medicis

Assorted Lore Part 11 ~ Danica And Her Dorm Leaders As Of Book 6
Tumblr media
Hello everyone!
So, this was going to be a special birthday post for Danica, but after looking at all I have planned for her that day, I decided to share this now.
I think it’s pretty clear by now that I am a huge Pomefiore stan considering most of my twst ocs are Pome students. And with the conclusion of my fic and the last part of Book 6 now out in EN, I thought I’d share my current headcanons for probably the most complex relationship in my twst oc universe: Danica’s relationship with her dorm leaders.
How Danica see’s Vil and Rook is probably the thing that has gone through the largest amount of changes since I first began writing her story back in February. And honestly causes me so SOOOO much brainrot that it’s not even funny! Theirs is honestly one of the most fascinating dynamics I’ve ever written for one of my ocs, full of ups and downs, triumphs and tragedies.
But let’s start at the beginning. Naturally, spoilers for the end of Book 6 ahead.
🏹🦢Danica’s Relationship With Rook🦢🏹
To say Rook was immediately taken with Danica would be an understatement. They first meet after orientation and without realizing it, she inadvertently let him indulge in his favorite pastime when she snuck off and he had to hunt go find her. Though they got off to an awkward start, Danica was also taken by Rook’s charm and poetic personality and his frequent praise helped ease her anxieties. Especially when Vil was being more critical of her. In addition to frequent praise, Rook would also give her useful advice and help her out when he was able. She was grateful for his kindness and allowed him to photograph her occasionally and sometimes even watch her when she practiced ballet.
However, Danica was not aware of how he would sometimes come to her room when she was sleeping and sing to her. Or how when he gifted her a new pair of pointe shoes, they were a perfect fit because he had measured her feet when she was sleeping. Rook also gifted Danica the ribbon rosette that she wears with her dorm uniform, though this gift was anonymous and she never realized he was the sender. Rook and Danica’s relationship stayed pretty platonic until right before winter break when his actions started to take on a more flirtatious feel.
Danica was certainly interested in him, but she was also interested in Vil and wanted more time before deciding which one she liked best. But Rook was the first of the two to actually express interest when he “accidentally” ran into her during winter break when she was visiting Sunset Savanna to hang out with Taima and Lilianne. Rook and Danica end up spending time alone at his villa and even share a kiss. He proposes that they become lovers but she was still unsure about her feelings and asks Rook to give her time to decide. He accepts this but their relationship becomes way more intimate after this.
Unfortunately, Rook’s actions towards the end of Book 5 ultimately forfeited his chances to be with her. There are hints to their relationship deteriorating throughout Book 5 but the major things that cause it are when Rook votes against both NRC teams and when Danica finds out that he had been flirting with several of the girls on the RSA VDC team. Most of the girls on the RSA team are non-human and Rook couldn’t help himself. Danica was especially hurt to catch him flirting with her friend Minette, a charming cat beastman. She was also very put off by his apathy towards both her and Vil’s insecurities as well as his infatuation with Neige. She began to wonder if Rook was being insincere about his feelings if he could so easily flirt with other girls. And also wondered if he was lying all the times he praised her if he can really put someone like Neige above her and Vil. Even after all the three had gone through.
In the immediate aftermath, Danica refused to speak to Rook and had Sidonie speak to him on her behalf. However, after the charons stormed NRC and took Vil, she temporarily was forced to set aside her anger long enough to follow behind him with Epel and Yuulan. She claimed only to be tagging along for Yuulan’s sake but deep down, there was a part of her that was genuinely concerned for his safety. But even after they met up in the forest, Danica refused to speak to Rook and was even more upset when they visited another one of his family’s homes because of the bittersweet pre-book 5 memories it brought up for her.
While infiltrating Tartarus with Yuulan and the Pomefiore Trio, they are confronted blot phantoms and have to fight them off. At one point, Rook is put in immediate danger and when it seems he’s been critically hurt, Danica breaks her vow never to speak to him when she expresses worry for his safety. This is the beginning of them repairing their broken relationship.
Eventually, by the end of Book 6, they do manage to reclaim a small fragment of their friendship with Yuulan’s help. They are now on civil terms but will likely never be as close as they once were as Danica now realizes that Rook’s fickle nature would only result in him breaking her heart again. And whether or not Rook truly loved Danica, we will never know.

👑🦢Danica’s Relationship With Vil🦢👑
From the start, Danica’s relationship with Vil has always been an interesting one. He was already aware of her family, had seen Fiona perform in a ballet once, and had varying opinions on Ledelle Cosmetics products. Danica for her part always admired Vil and had a girlish crush on him in middle school that she eventually grew out of. When she arrived at NRC, she continued to admire him but kept her distance so she wouldn’t seem overly fawning or insincere. But she soon caught his eye with her tenacity, goals, and personal charm. Compared to other freshmen, Danica has always been in Vil’s good graces and he’s certainly kinder to her.
But because he also saw a lot of potential in her, he held much higher expectations for her and was far from pleased with her shy, introverted nature. Over time, Vil concocted several “tests” for Danica that, while never obvious, were supposed to help her become less self-conscious and afraid of judgment. He arranged these tests not only to help her see her own potential but to discover it for himself. Vil genuinely grew to enjoy learning how talented and determined Danica was and truly wanted her to be less self-conscious. And this was long before he began taking more personal interest in her.
Some of his tests involved her performing in front of people alone, dancing for magazine reporters visiting pomefiore, and helping out with the nrc Halloween stamp rally. She passes all of these tests and eventually, under Vil’s teachings, truly learns to be less fearful and shy. After living most of her life in the shadow of her older sister (exacerbated by her death), Danica was beginning to develop a complex regarding weather or not she was truly as talented as people would say. Or if she was only talented because of Fiona.
But Vil helped her learn to see her own value and as their friendship developed, not once compared her to Fiona. While their relationship was far less flirtatious, Vil came to develop a genuine respect and interest in Danica and by Halloween, was contemplating the idea that their relationship could become more. Throughout November, Vil would seek out her attention more often and they began spending alone time together, having private yoga sessions, discussing ballet and theatre, and Vil even giving Danica her first lessons dancing pas de deux.
Unfortunately, during winter break, Danica did a photoshoot/commercial with Neige Leblanche for her family and Vil’s anger and jealousy on the matter put a dent in their developing relationship. Vil was especially concerned about Danica interacting with Neige because, while his feelings for her were genuine, Vil was beginning to see Danica as a means to an end.
Right before the beginning of the school year, Vil confided in his father about some of his insecurities about his constant villainous typecasting and his general insecurities about how the world viewed him. His father mentioned how his own public image softened after he married and fathered a child and doubly so when he was widowed and began raising Vil on his own. From this conversation, Vil got it into his head that the right partner for him could similarly endear him to the public and help soften his “villain” image. Vil initially tried to forget this idea because he felt it was manipulative and he honestly never thought he’d find someone to love that would meet his exacting standards.
That is until he met Danica.
To make matters better, before Book 5, most of Danica’s traits held similarities to the White Swan that she’s half twisted from. Beauty, tenderness, and, above all, innocence. Danica seemed like the perfect candidate to help fix Vil’s image and their dance during the new years masquerade fully confirmed this when public opinion began to shift to seeing Vil in a romantic, heroic light. And truly the most beautiful one of all.
As VDC prep began, Vil became obsessed with Danica maintaining a perfectly pure “white swan” image. Desiring to use their budding romance as a way to show the world that he was no longer fit for the role of a villain, but of a hero, a prince. Because in the eyes of Danica, his innocent white swan, he was all those things. And it was his greatest hope that Danica would win the VDC with a sugary sweet performance befitting a white swan. Typecasting her in the public eye as the ideal princess to stand by the side of a hero. Ironically, this was the exact same thing the public had done to Vil for most of his life. Unfortunately for him, Danica had her own ideas for what she wanted for herself, not desiring to be typecasted in this way even if it was more positive.
Danica’s decision to go against him regarding her VDC performance was a devastating blow both to Vil and their relationship. Not only was he upset about his plans not working, but he also had a genuine fear that Danica presenting herself in too provocative a way might doom her to the same public vilification that he was all too familiar with. Only after his overblot, and after nearly losing Danica to the very poisoned curse he set off, did Vil see the error in his ways. He saw Danica’s disdain for Neige and realized his fears that he’d take her from him were unfounded. And realizing how much he hurt Danica also made Vil realize that in the same way the world villainizes him for his beauty, he had done the same to Danica on a smaller, but more personal scale. He now understands that Danica is already worthy of his love, faults, and all, and that she doesn’t need to be a pure and sweet princess for him to play prince for her to have value.
Vil’s time in STYX captivity allowed him to think more about how he’s treated Danica, with the result that their reunion is an extremely heartfelt one. While infiltrating Tartarus, they didn’t have much time to discuss all that happened between them but there was a noticeable shift in how they regarded each other. And when Vil’s appearance was drastically changed after his dive into the Underworld, Danica was his greatest (and only) source of comfort as they were returning to NRC.
In the end, Danica and Vil are two incredible people who are also very broken and flawed. But while the world might put them in narrow, unescapable boxes, only when they can see each other past their labels as full human beings can they truly be together. As of the end of Book 6, they are attempting to do just that. And while Danica is very hurt by Vil’s actions and she hasn’t fully forgiven him, she understands now why he acted the way he did. The VDC may have left their relationship damaged, but it also has the greatest potential to improve.
And maybe, just maybe, even become romantic in time.

💘, 🤪 and 🎞️ for the ask game !
-angmaren
going with ms fortune here 💘: Why would people love your ship? Why would people dislike your ship? How might it start debates? - People will say that loosing people that ms fortune cared about left her alone and scared and having friends there for her (with minette and her dad) and a person that loves her (my insert) she has the love and support she needs to properly heal. 🤪: What is your trait that fanon would exaggerate? - my characters apathy towards life, his whole story is him gaining apathy and emotions towards life but the fandom would just fucking RUN with his apathy and make him this cold emotionless being 🎞️: What ‘canon’ scenes would the fandom point to as evidence for the validity of your ship? - that would be the scene where he comforts ms fortune, telling her he was there for each of her friends deaths. He remembers all of them begging him to spare her and to watch over her, that she didnt deserve this. And him telling her that he plans on keeping those promises and making sure to be there for her.

Minette watches Medici, part 13 (Ties That Bind)
- Eating my words about this show getting better with a heaping dose of bologna sauce (sorry, I don’t know any Tuscan foods). At this rate, I am definitely not watching season 3.
- You know, for a show that hinges so much of its plot on renessaince accounting and record keeping, Medici: The Magnificent is remarkably bad at explaining renessaince accounting and record keeping... Like at this point I just have to roll with anything that the writing throws at me on this subject. The Pazzi bank owes the Medici, and they can collect said debt at any time? Sure, why not. The Medici bank controls the price of alum? Sounds fake, but whatever. Pope can just transfer his account to the Pazzi bank like that? I guess so. This shit’s gotta wait for people more knowledgeable of renessaince economics to debunk. I am just here for the characters and their drama, which... Well...
- Gotta say, of all the things to get right, I did not expect Galeazzo Sforza being a massive dick to be one them. I mean, he was a condottiero, these guys usually weren’t known for their kindness, humility or deft diplomatic touch. Though the whole “your daughter is a child bride???” thing was kinda hillarious when you remember Lorenzo’s sister Lucrezia was married off at 13 (she did actually start living with her husband at 18, but still).
- Speaking of, I actually liked Salviati’s little bluff towards Galeazzo. The man is a villain as cartoonish as old Pazzi, but you can’t deny he’s one clever bastard.
- Old Pazzi and his scheming to get Francesco back on his side actually wasn’t that bad, either, untill something that should at best slowly sow seeds of doubt in his mind made him turn on both Lorenzo and his beloved wife wholesale. And it was such an easy fix, too - just make Francesco already conflicted about Lorenzo’s attempts to undermine the Pazzi bank! Like, Francesco’s father wanted to bury the hatchet with the Medici, and now they are destroying his life’s work, even if it is for understandable reasons (that is, his shitty uncle was trying to destroy them first). His uncle’s manipulations would only feed his already existing doubts about cooperating with Lorenzo, so even if he didn’t believe old Pazzi (because why should he?!) Francesco would still end up turning on his friend. In fact, why not add his dissappointment from not getting Imola to the mix? We could have so much juicy drama stem from this, if only the writers could be a little clever about it! But no, that would risk making Lorenzo look bad, even if only from a certain point of view, and we can’t have that, so now we’re on a fast train to Misunderstandingland, my least favourite plot destination.
- Did I mention Lorenzo is a raging Gary Stu? Because he is. His speech about “true republic” at the start of the episode almost made me quit the show altogether. I wanted to get trough this part with a vodka bottle in hand, but I suspect there’s not enough alcohol on our good green mother Earth to dull my pain.
- Other subplots aren’t any better. Lorenzo’s relationship with Clarice is proving to be lamer by the minute, and Gugliermo with Bianca are sitting on their asses in the Medici mansion this whole time, apparently. The show threatens me by relationship development between Lorenzo and Giuliano when it shows Lorenzo’s frustration with that shitty aimless fratbro, but that fizzles out when he immediately turns to Francesco as a substitute brother. Francesco, who immediately betrays him for no fucking reason, except for the fact that Lorenzo apparently didn’t explain to him Novella was promised to Giuliano first.
- It was admittedly pretty funny to see Simonetta express frustration with the fact that Giuliano is, in fact, a shitty aimless fratbro, even if it didn’t really go anywhere. But then her husband starts suspecting Sandro of an affair with Simonetta, because... He used her as a model in a bunch of paintings the dude didn’t comission, I guess? Truly, noone in this show is safe from the effects of microdosing on stupid pills. On the other hand, it could lead to Giuliano and Simonetta breaking up, so that might not be so bad, aye?

For the ask game-- 9 for Gueulemer, 5 for Babet, 23 for Claquesous (should you have one!), and 6 for Montparnasse!
Hello, dear friend, thank you for the asks!! :)
9. Could you be roommates with this character? (Gueulemer)
Well, setting aside Gueulemer's illegal 'occupation', I reckon I'd get along just fine with him! He has a brilliant, absurd sense of humour (I still giggle everytime I read his answer to Thénardier's "Why have you taken off your mask?") and seems relaxed enough to be agreeable. Although, with his general laziness, I would probably spend a lot of my time cleaning up after him...(!)
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them? (Babet)
I realise that this is niche, but, the Main Title from The Shining initially comes to mind. I cannot fully explain why, but I suppose it stems from the fact that I find Babet so incredibly chilling (out of the entire Patron-Minette, Babet definitely makes me the most uncomfortable!)... the empty theatrics to his character, and his mysterious, eerie past unsettle me almost as much as that song does!
23. Favorite picture of this character? (Claquesous)
This one! Aka, one of the rare illustrations that actually bothers to feature Claquesous with his mask, and I really enjoy the distinct design of it here. The inclusion of the deerstalker cap is also a nice touch... in my opinion, it does a skilful job at hinting to the dual occupations of this character.
Tumblr media
6. What's something you have in common with this character? (Montparnasse)
I am happy to report that I don't share many traits with Montparnasse (no red flags here!). The only common ground we have is a bit of difficulty being open about our true selves. That is NOT to say I construct and hide behind a false façade in a desperate attempt to fit in with a different societal class (lol)— I just mean I'm not great at openly discussing myself!

I don't keep up with G/enpacts main story so much anymore since I don't have the space on my PC to keep the game with everything else I need on it but I've seen some stuff tm and it made me realize that though I've said it before in less clear words, I'll say it again -
Minette is very ride or die with those she cares about. Where they're from , what they've done , their pasts and origins don't matter to her (assuming they are not actively trying to hurt others notice how I don't say not hurting her though HAH.) Once you're an important person to her , you always will be. No matter what Minette will always love and care for you ! (Even if she may not be able to directly show it under certain circumstances: I.E. Fatui friends. She will still go out of her way to try and let you know she cares through letters and the like even if she can't physically be around you / doesn't agree with what you do.)

Open RP: Need to Breed
Tumblr media
∞ “Just as the mating season begins, Minette and Mino have things to do at the casino, just my luck... what a misfortune!” The catman angrily tapped the floor with his foot, hoping that his dear Dagonian friends would be able to help him during these trying times. He wanted to breed someone, anyone, oh so baldy! ... Then a sweet scent reached his nose.
He quickly followed his nose to the source of the scent, and he noticed it was coming from someone... He just found his breeding mate for the season!
Taking off his top, he jumped in front of the person he just found, grinning and making obvious that the Feral was thinking of nothing but lewd things.

∞ “Hello~ You’re the lucky winner this time! Your prize? A nice, hefty load of cum from yours truly~ What do you say? Want to do it right here or should we go to a more private place~?”

Both hands were behind back, much like a child hiding something in an obvious way. Marcel had to pick between quite a few things he thought of getting her, the monetary value ignored in favor of only choosing what she would love. After eight months of consideration, the winner was a gold ring, dating back to 400AD, adorned with a garnet and a Hippocampus shaped hollow in the stone. It came from where she came, and it belonged to times she liked to be curious about. It was just right. He sneaked behind her, sure that she had seen him enter the kitchen, but taking the moment as the one chance to be away from the noise of guests and family outside. ❛❛ Minette... Merry Christmas. ❜❜ A single hand outstretched towards her with a box in grasp, a wooden box with sea-themed engravings that was made solely to house the gift, a deep red velvet ribbon to signify it as a gift.
an overwhelming christmas to say the least .  chaos and stressful ...  and noisy too .  she mostly does well under the pressure of hosting a get - together or a party ,  and it didn't seem like she was effected by all of it  (  and truly she wasn't ,  but she'd be remiss to say that the celebrations that went underway at villa belladonna wasn't immense .  especially with family and friends being around to join them this year .  )  mia was tucked away in the kitchen ,  with the last bit of the worker's helping her finish off the cooking before she sent them home for the day .
it was still twelve o'clock so they still had time to be with their own families . with a hefty holiday bonus and time off to spend time with their family ,  the next following days will be just the family at the villa .  now closed off for the rest of the season .
Tumblr media
she sees movement enter the kitchen ,  it's not difficult to feel @parieur 's energy enter the room .  even if he was trying to be innocently sneaking around .  " you better not be creepin' in here to taste the food yet . "  a smirk tugs at the corner of full lips and hazel eyes follow him .  he waited until the two women were excused before he showed her what he was hiding behind his back .  a familiar expression of a upturned brow and takes the small box off his person .  " thought you were done givin' gifts , "  hip rests along the side of the counter while she throws the kitchen towel over her shoulder .  peeling off that red velvet ribbon and placing it beside her ,  then opening the box to expose what was inside .  " oh ... "  her words fail her at the moment ,  " oh my god , "  she could tell the ring was not only an antique ,  but it was very old and it was from ancient rome .  " this belongs in a museum , "  mia holds up the ring close to her to recognize the hippocampus ,  the steed of posideon himself .
" this is gorgeous babe , "  she then leans in and presses a kiss against his cheek ,  which of course leaves a shapely kiss stain upon skin .  she smiles and places her hand among the cheek ,  using her thumb to wipe the stain away .  " thank you . "

Anthony’s Stupid Daily Blog(289): Fri 30th Dec 2022
Went to work rocking my Lemmy beard and didn’t feel as self conscious as I thought I would and as far as I can tell didn’t even get a second look from the people I spoke to or walked past. I really dug the way I looked with this beard but now with the hair from my chin gone I started to continuously fidget with the remaining hair which was the thing that prompted me to shave in the first place. I realized that the rest of the beard was going to have to go and so shaved it off when I got back. Before I did I took a picture of it and uploaded it to my Instagram and a lot of my friends liked it and said that it really suited me (not sure if that means they think I look like Lemmy or if they think that I’ve always looked like a porn star and have finally completed the look).
I was sad to learn that former TNA announcer Don West had passed away. People were always incredibly divisive about West’s commentary style with some finding his overly shouty style a bit too much to handle. Frankly I thought he was great. For the longest time mainstream wrestling announcers sounded like the excitement and passion had deflated like a balloon so it was refreshing to hear someone like West being incredibly boisterous and giving it both barrels. When I think back to the great early days of TNA a lot of the memories I have of that company are accompanied by West screaming “YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING” and I was sad when they took him off of commentary as it felt like the energy levels went down when Taz was slotted in. The guy was only 59 and fought a brave battle against cancer in his final years. I hope he was proud of the life and career he led and the memories he created for an entire generation of fans. RIP Don.
Had a few more ideas for the sitcom. It’s evolving from a collection of random ideas, jokes and characters into an actual story. I can’t wait to get this submitted and get my feedback from the judging panel. I’m not expecting to win but to get the script read and analyzed by top industry professionals will be great and the feedback they give me will be utilized in future scripts that I write. It’s frustrating that this competition restricts you to 15 minutes. They say this is because most sitcoms in America are only 21 minutes…so why the fuck have THESE GUYS reduced it to 15 MINUTES for fucks sake? The winning scripts get acted out on a stage in front of a judging panel so I’m guessing the reason they narrow the performance time down to 15 minutes is so they can be out of the venue as quickly as possible. Even though I won’t win and even if they tell me the script isn’t that good I know for a fact that it’s much better than any of the other sitcom scripts I’ve written. When I’m done with this one I just need to write four more and then I’ll be able to cross “write a sitcom” off my bucket list.
I finished reading The Sculptress and holy shit what an amazing story it is. Constantly throwing spanner’s into the works and making you think the story is going one way and then taking you another. This might be the best book I’ve read in this entire challenge and I’ll definitely be reading some more Minette Walters. I immediately bout the next book in the challenge: The Red Scream by Mary Willis Walker. Tragically I saw that the one after this was another novel by Dick Francis which like the previous two novels of his I’ve read is about HORSES! What is this dudes fascination with detective novels which involve horses? My guess is that this is going to be another quick skim read and then a trip to the charity shop.
