A/N: I had to write this. I needed Nancy and Steve being parental as well as Steve being bitchy. Everyone's relationship is up in the air except for Robin and Joyce's. Joyce is clearly with Hopper. Robin is always with Vickie because people hate on Vickie for no reason. Anyways, love to all, no matter what you like. Unless you like Billy, then I'm judging you harshly.
Steve was already annoyed because his date backed out at the last minute, but now he was even more annoyed when he found out from Robin that they wouldn't be at Lucas's game. Just for one night, Lucas wasn't asking them to abandon the game completely but to take one night off. Don't they understand that this is what Lucas was afraid of? Not being able to be a jock and to be able to still be a nerd? Of losing his friends? One night wasn't an unreasonable thing to ask for. Sometimes, being a good friend means supporting them when they need it even if you don't like it or understand it, not all the time but sometimes. How do they expect Lucas to compromise for them when they need it if they never do it for him?
Steve was too in his own head to notice that someone else was striding towards the drama room. He arrived at the doors at the same time as Nancy. Their hands reached for the door handle. They stared at each other, and for a moment, Steve had forgotten what he was doing. Nancy looked so beautiful when she wasn't angry at him. Oh, she was angry. Was she angry at the same thing he was? Oh, right, Mike, Dustin, and Erica.
"You mad at the kids for abandoning and replacing Lucas, too?" Steve asked.
"Yes!" Nancy exclaimed.
"Well, let's do this together then, shall we?" Steve asked.
They opened the doors, causing them to bang loudly against the walls. Nancy and Steve stormed in, their hands on their hips.
"Hey, assholes!" Steve and Nancy exclaimed in unison.
They paused and looked at each other in surprise for a moment before turning back to them.
"Oh my God! They're together and they're both pissed!" Dustin shrieked.
"You're damn right we're pissed!" Steve yelled.
"Lucas asked for one night for you guys to be there to support him, and you couldn't give him that?" Nancy asked.
"It's not our fault Lucas went to the dark side!" Mike exclaimed.
"The dark side? So, all people who play basketball are Darth Vader?" Steve asked.
"You know Darth Vader?" Dustin asked.
"Of course, I do! I can be a little nerdy sometimes!" Steve exclaimed.
"He reads comic books, too!" Nancy yelled.
"What? Why didn't you say?!" Dustin asked.
"Whenever I try to join in on your conversations, you brush me off and scoff!" Steve yelled, and then his eyes went soft, as well as his voice. "Do you guys just think of me as a dumb jock who gives you free rides?"
"Nice mom guilt," Nancy whispered to him.
"Thanks," Steve whispered back.
"I mean, really, everything that Steve’s done for you. . .for Lucas, especially in Starcourt. He saved Dustin and Erica's life!" Nancy exclaimed. "And do you just think that all people who enjoy basketball are assholes?!"
"Nice dad guilt," Steve whispered.
"Thanks," Nancy whispered back.
"Hey, Mike, didn't you promise Will that you wouldn't join another party?" Steve asked, snapping his fingers at him.
"That's right, I mean, if D&D means so much to you, then why are you sitting here in another party?" Nancy asked.
Mike opened his mouth and closed it again, unable to find the answer. Dustin looked incredibly guilty. Good, Steve thought. Eddie scowled and stood up.
"Who gives a fuck about some stupid laundry basket game?" Eddie asked. "This is when we play. It's not our fault that Sinclair chose the wrong game."
"Lucas gives a fuck about that laundry basket game!" Steve snapped. "He wasn't asking for you to give up the game completely, he was asking for one fucking night so he that he wouldn't feel like a freak for enjoying both games! He wanted his friends to accept him for that and for someone who stood up on a fucking table to preach against forced conformity - yeah, Robin told me about that - here you are trying to force Lucas and his friends to only comform to D&D!"
Steve was pleased to see that Eddie looked like he had been slapped in the face.
"That's not - I mean - ," Eddie stuttered.
"Yeah, Robin was pretty much agreeing with you until you went after science and band," Steve said. "I mean, are you telling me that all of you have the same exact interests? Do you all like the same food? Do you all like the same music?"
"The problem isn't basketball. The problem is that every group has their assholes but they also have their good people, too," Nancy said, looking at Steve.
"And sometimes people can crossover into other groups," Steve said. "It happens."
"We didn't think Lucas actually enjoyed basketball," Dustin said.
"Yeah, he told us he wanted to stop being bullied," Mike said.
"Hm, and which group was he talking about?" Steve asked.
"What happens when one of your players gets sick?" Nancy asked.
"Well, yeah, we postpone then because it's a good excuse," Gareth said.
"A championship is a good excuse," Nancy replied. "But it's nice to know that you guys aren't completely heartless."
"Heartless?! We're not the ones beating the shit out of people because of what they like!" Eddie snapped.
"No, you're just letting them know that they're replaceable if they decide they need to explore other options," Steve said, and then he scoffed. "Can't believe I ever had a crush on you."
Eddie's eyes widened as the whole table gasped dramatically.
"You're fucking with me," Eddie said.
"No, I'm not," Steve said. "I like men and women. I know that liking more than one thing is a hard concept for you to grasp."
"That's not, I mean, you can like whatever you want, but liking basketball and D&D is different than that," Eddie frowned.
"I don't see how," Nancy said, shaking her head. "Do you guys play every day of the week?"
"Well, no," Eddie said.
"Well, if you don't play every day of the week, then it's not going to be the end of the world if you wait just one more day?!" Nancy asked.
"Okay, enough of this. I don't care if you guys come or not, but Dustin, Erica, and Mike, you guys are coming to the game to support your friend," Steve said clapping his hands.
"But - " Mike started to say.
"You heard your mother! I mean, your Steve! You heard Steve!" Nancy exclaimed, shaking her head again.
Mike and Dustin ducked their heads as they gathered their things. Erica held her head up high as she did the same thing.
"I didn't do anything wrong, they tricked me!" Erica exclaimed.
"Erica!" Nancy scolded.
As they were leaving with the kids, Steve overheard one of them - Frankie? - speak up.
"I wasn't ever going to say anything, but I, uh, kind of like watching basketball," Frankie said.
"Fine, fine! We'll go to the goddamn game," Eddie said.
It didn't take long for them to catch up with the group.
"Decided to join us assholes, huh?" Steve asked.
"Yeah, look, you were right, and Nancy was right. . .it's not going to be the end of the world if we wait one more day," Eddie said. "And of course, I know that Sinclair isn't going to turn out like those assholes especially if he has the support of his friends."
"Yeah, well, I'm not the one you need to apologize to," Steve said.
"Yeah, that's true. . . So, you have a crush on me?" Eddie asked.
"Had. As in past tense," Steve replied.
"Yeah, I suppose I deserve that," Eddie said. "I am curious to know if you are seeing anyone, though."
"I just tore you a new one," Steve said, looking at him in confusion.
"I know," Eddie grinned.
"Well, I'm kind of seeing someone," Steve said.
"Kind of?"
"It's on and off."
"Is he being intentionally vague?" Eddie asked Nancy.
"I can't say," she grinned.
"By the way, was I little too bitchy in there?" Steve asked Nancy.
"No, you were perfect. I know someone else who would have loved it like a certain someone did," Nancy said.
"Okay, you two aren't bad assholes, just annoyingly vague assholes," Eddie said, and they both giggled. "This is going to be a long game."
The game wasn't so bad as Eddie had thought it was going to be, especially when Chrissy jumped up and waved excitedly at the sight of him. He eventually got caught up with it when Lucas was sent in to play. He was glad he did come when he saw the pure joy on the young man's face when he saw almost everyone he cared about was there to cheer him on. When Lucas scored the winning shot, Eddie hugged Nancy and Steve both tightly. He needed to be reminded every once in a while that it's not just about him and what he likes. He started Hellfire to give lost sheep like Lucas a place to belong, and he almost ruined that because of a few bad eggs who happened to like basketball. Besides, people needed to know that just because you have different interests doesn't mean you have to be enemies.
"Thank you for making me come," Eddie told them. "I would have regretted it."
A week or so later. . .
"So, Nance, what were you saying about it not being the end of the world if I postponed the game for a day?" Eddie asked with a cheeky grin as he laid in his hospital bed.
"We stopped it before it could happen," Nancy rolled her eyes. "Do you regret going to Lucas's basketball game?"
Eddie grinned as he thought about the pure joy on Lucas's face.
"Nah!"
"Well, no one stayed dead, so there's that!" Chrissy grinned.
"Well, Hopper's still dead," Steve said.
"Oh, yeah," Chrissy frowned.
Suddenly, there came a knocking at Eddie's hospital room door. Robin got up to answer it.
"Steve, you were wrong. Hopper is very much alive!" Robin exclaimed. "Holy shit!"
Robin let Hopper and Joyce into the room. Moments later, Vickie skidded in behind them.
"Hey, guys, did you hear? Someone said they saw Chief Hopper wandering the hospital!" Vickie said and glanced at Hopper for a moment. "Hiya, Chief! Isn't that crazy, Robin? He's supposed to be dead, right?!"
"It takes her a moment," Robin said. "She gets there eventually."
"Oh my God! . . . Eddie, is that your mom?"

Spin the Bottle
I accidentally wrote another (sort of) rant fic again. (Scroll to the end if you just want to see the descriptions of the kisses)
Backstory: The party is hanging out at the Wheeler’s house in the basement, and the fruity four are upstairs. For some reason, the boys are curious about what girls do at “girl sleepovers” and El says her and Max played spin the bottle.
The boys obviously freak out, and Max tries to explain that their version of spin the bottle involved El spinning a bottle to see who she would spy on. Then El is asking what the other spin the bottle is. The party all kind of look at each other, and Max is finally like “it’s easier if we show you.”
So, they all start rushing up the stairs to see who can find a bottle first. But then they run into Steve who is yelling, “Woah, woah, woah! What’s going on?!” and he’s doing the mom stance with his hands on his hips.
Suddenly Dustin is stealing the beer out of Eddie’s hands announcing, “We have a bottle!” And they’re all running back downstairs as Dustin pours out the rest of the beer in the sink. Dustin responds to Eddie’s protests by simply saying, “Spin the bottle,” as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
Eddie and Steve yell, “Tone!” at the same time, but Dustin is already back downstairs.
Upstairs, Steve and Nancy reminisce on the last time they played spin the bottle, and Eddie and Robin say they have never played. For some reason, Steve and Nancy think they have to fix this and are seeing who can finish their beer first (it’s Nancy).
Downstairs, they all settle into a circle, but then Dustin is cursing, “Son of a bitch,” because there’s no way for him to ask Suzie poo if it’s okay. So, he steps out of the circle, and then Will tries to as well, but Mike is stopping him.
Will explains that he hasn’t had his first kiss, but Mike is insistent that spin the bottle kisses don’t count. Then Max speaks up and offers, “I can be your first kiss?” And Mike gives her the biggest glare and explains that he is Will’s best friend so really it should be him. Max just raises her hands up in defense and is like, “Go ahead then.”
Will is absolutely frozen in fear and anticipation because he never thought this moment would come, especially not with all his friends watching. But it’s like Mike can read his mind because he’s demanding everyone to turn around and give them some privacy. Then, he asks Will if he’s sure he wants him to be his first kiss and all Will can do is nod and force out a choked, “Yes.” Then Mike gently takes Will’s face in his hands and is slowly bringing him in to close the distance and their lips meet so softly in the sweetest and most chaste kiss.
When they pull away, they just stare at each other, but then Dustin is asking if they’re done yet. When they say yes and quickly jump apart everyone turns back around and Dustin yells, “Let the game commence!”
Upstairs, they run into a similar issue except Robin is rambling at the speed of light trying to explain why they can’t play until Nancy just takes her hands and gently asks, “What’s wrong?” And Robin blurts out, “I’ve never kissed anyone!”
But then Nancy is asking, “Do you want to?” And Robin really thinks this is a proposition so of course she says yes. But then Nancy is looking at Steve expectantly, and Robin and him are yelling, “NO,” once they realize what she’s implying. So, Nancy looks at Eddie next and Robin is finally like, “It’s not guys that I want to kiss.”
Nancy has a little ‘oh’ moment, but then she’s asking Robin if she wants to kiss her. And if Steve were drinking a beer, this would be the exact moment he would start choking on it. But he’s nodding at Robin who is asking consent with her eyes and Steve’s communicating with his this is your chance please take it. So, Robin nods and then Nancy is kissing her gently but definitely not shyly.
Robin thinks she might faint. When the girls pull away, they’re both a little red in the face, but they agree that they can play now. Then Eddie is the one hesitating and saying he’s in the same predicament as Robin. Which Nancy and Robin instantly get, and Steve is wondering why everyone is suddenly looking at him. Then he’s asking Nancy if she wants to do the honors again, and Robin is saying “Steve” in the same tone as the Tammy Thompson confession and- Oh.
Steve just kind of stares at Eddie and then his lips, but it’s not the first time he’s had the thought so why not. But then Nancy and Robin are staring, so Steve tells them to please look away. Just for good measure, Steve yanks Eddie down behind the table to give them more privacy. Steve begins to ask, “Are you sure you want-” but then Eddie’s hands are in his hair properly messing it up and kissing the life out of him to the point Steve seriously doubts that this is Eddie’s first kiss. But then they’re breaking away because Steve can’t breathe, and Eddie’s popping up from behind the table announcing, “Let’s play.”
The Party Kisses:
Max and Lucas: The kiss is familiar. Not super intrusive but light and loving.
Lucas and El: They kiss so shyly and fast, it’s barely even a peck. Max is calling them lame.
El and Will: They kiss each other on the cheek because they’re literally siblings and already do this.
Will and Lucas: They’re giggling their entire way through this kiss. It’s barely even considered a kiss.
Lucas and Mike: They shrug and give each other a solid kiss. Lucas jokes that he should’ve given Mike better kissing advice when they were younger for El’s sake.
Mike and Max: Max wants more than anything to not do this, so when Mike leans in she turns her face away at the final second, leaving him to kiss her cheek which she still complains about.
Max and El: They’re making out with no shame. Also, the bottle seems to suspiciously be landing on them a lot. One time, El doesn’t wipe her nose fast enough and everyone is yelling, “You’re using your powers?!”
El and Mike: They kiss gently, but when they pull away Mike is saying he doesn’t think he’ll ever be able to kiss her without Hopper yelling at him in the back of his mind.
Mike and Will: The second time the bottle lands on them, they’re kissing a little less chaste. The third time... Will starts experimenting with tongue. The fourth...
Will and Max: This is the awkwardest kiss that ends the game.
The Fruity Four:
Eddie and Steve: It’s literally Eddie’s personal mission to kill Steve via kisses, and he’s succeeding. The girls are cheering him on.
Steve and Robin: They’re both complaining and as soon as Steve kisses Robin literally just a peck, Robin’s yelling, “Did you try to use tongue?!”
Robin and Eddie: They give each other a solid kiss and high five after.
Eddie and Nancy: They’re looking at each other as if they didn’t even know this was an option. But then Eddie is dipping her to get rid of her nerves and gives  her a peck while she’s laughing. (Steve asks why Eddie doesn’t kiss him like that, and Eddie promises next time he will.)
Nancy and Robin: They’re both getting butterflies and not shying away from these kisses. Usually it ends with them giggling.
Nancy and Steve: They kind of shyly kiss, but it’s familiar and soft. They both pull away and immediately realize that it’s not what either of them want any more though.
Bonus: Argyle and Jonathan: The pair come inside the house looking for food when they see the game going on. Argyle asks, “That’s the game where you spin the bottle and kiss someone, right?” And before anyone can answer him, he’s spinning the bottle, but before it’s close to stopping he’s making out with Jonathan.

Writer prompt: Steve & Mike bonding pls
Ooh I love this!! We don’t see it enough in canon but I think their bitchiness actually gets along fairly well together.
Tumblr media
It’s 8:54am on a Tuesday when Mike bangs on Steve’s door. “I need to talk to you.”
Steve blinks, but does ultimately let him inside. “Is something wrong? Is it something with the Upside Down?”
Mike scowls at him like he’s an idiot. “No.”
Steve stares back, unimpressed. “Then why don’t you use the words I know you have, since I’m not a mind reader?”
Mike releases a breath. Turns and stalks down the hallway before just as suddenly turning back. “How did you know you were gay?” He blurts.
Steve is, quite honestly, stunned. “Oh. Okay. Um, the short answer is, I’m not.” He gestures Mike over to sit on the couch. “I’m bisexual, which is when you like both men and women.”
Mike nods. “How did you know?”
Steve blows out a breath. “I mean, I think I always knew I liked girls, mostly because that’s what was expected of me. That’s what’s acceptable, y’know? As sappy as this is gonna sound, it took meeting Robin to understand that liking the same gender was a possibility, and it took meeting Eddie to understand that I could feel that way. I love Eddie, just like I loved Nancy. Different people, different genders, but the love’s the same.”
Mike nods. “How would I know?”
Steve smiles sadly. “That’s the thing. Only you can know.”
Mike groans. “But I don’t know, that’s the thing! ‘Cause I love El. I swear I do. She’s amazing and I don’t deserve her. But it’s like… sometimes my body will remember it’s supposed to feel this way, and I get all flustered and my palms start sweating, but it’s just Will! I’ve known him forever!”
Steve hums. “Thinking you don’t deserve someone is a dangerous game to play. You’ll keep reaching for that mark of being good enough only to find you can’t ever quite reach it.” He looks at Mike. “Being in love doesn’t mean you try for something unattainable. It means trying to be the best you you can be, knowing that even if you fail, that person will still love you anyways.”
He’s silent for a second. “How’d you know you loved Eddie?”
Steve chuckles. “It was somehow both gradual and all of a sudden. I think I’d been falling for a while, and all of a sudden one day I was hanging out with him. We weren’t even doing anything special, just sitting and talking, him plucking at his guitar, and I thought, I want it to be like this forever.”
“And you just… knew?”
“Yeah. Pretty much.”
“You weren’t scared?”
“Mike, falling in love was the easiest thing I’ve ever done.”
Mike thinks about it, nods, then stands. Steve follows suit. “Need a ride?”
“Nah. I need to think about how I’m gonna do it first.” He looks at Steve. “Do I have a chance?”
“I can’t say yes for sure, because I don’t know for sure what Will feels. But I know how it looks. And it looks like you do.”
Mike nods and walks out the door, turning back at the last second. “Thank you.”
Steve smiles. “You’re welcome.”
At the next movie night, Steve smiles and pointedly doesn’t say anything when he sees Mike and Will holding hands.

Since I've read some of my other incorrect quotes stuff I wanted to make another one with the adults so
Stranger Things incorrect quotes generator (feat. Robin+ the Adults, +Bonus)
Pt. 18
Murray and Robin
Murray: Give me everything you’ve got!
Robin: All your friends secretly hate you.
Murray: Wait, what?
Robin: I’ve got anxiety.
(Oof. I feel that)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Murray, texting Robin: Text me when you’re home safely.
Robin: I’m home dangerously.
Murray: Stop it.
Robin: I’m home lethally.
(Just some more modern AU fun)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: You know me, Murray, I don’t take any shit. You know what I say to my haters?
Murray: What?
Robin: I say: “Please don’t hate me, I’m really nice.”
(she is really nice. But she would fight you if you insult one of her friends)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: No, this is not a mess. You know what I consider a mess?
Murray: Your life?
Robin: I- well yes, but-
(More like my room. It's very messy. And oof)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Murray: Look, Robin, it's the third time this week you had a mental breakdown and its Monday.
(well a lot is happening rn so let her be)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: Surgery is basically just stabbing someone to life.
Murray: Please never become a surgeon.
(I think she'd hate it anyway)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Murray: I don’t even have time to tell you how wrong you are.
Robin: Okay?
Murray: …
Murray: …
Murray: Actually it’s gonna bug me if I don’t, so—
(You know. The longest he has not told her how wrong she was, was only 5 minutes)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: You know what I’ve realized?
Murray: Some thoughts are better left unsaid?
Robin: Nice try, anyways-
(he is getting tired of telling her she's wrong lol)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: Don’t trust everything you see on the internet.
Murray: Pfft. What possibly nonsense could come from the internet? Oh. Did you know that the Earth is actually flat?
Robin: *Takes away Murray’s phone* Yeah, that enough for you.
(omg no. He has discovered the false conspiracy theories. This is gonna take a bit of arguing and debating with Robin to get him back to reality)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: Awww, why don't you like cats, Murray? They're just snuggly buddies! They have toe beans! They make a little blep! What's not to love??
Murray: I don't know Robin, I just prefer to be conscious instead of dead on the floor.
Robin:
Murray: I'm ALLERGIC.
(Robin is a golden retriever that loves cats. You know the black cat, golden retriever thing. And Nancy is the black cat that loves dogs. You know with Max's dog. Love that scene)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: I love you.
Murray: How many people have you said that to?
Robin: Everyone.
Murray: What?
Robin: I told everyone that I love you.
(After she got officially adopted, she loves to say she loves her dad, again. Also her dad and Murray would have gotten along well. Because I say so)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
[Karen and Robin]
Robin: I have an idea.
Karen: A good idea?
Robin: Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
(Robin in that Halloween story)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: Please, Karen, after everything we’ve been through together. You can’t do this.
Karen: I’m sorry Robin.
Robin: I’m begging you. Don’t do it.
Karen: It has to be done.
Robin:
Karen:
Robin:
Karen: *Places +4* Uno.
(just some game night with the family playing Uno. And Robin thinks Karen doesn't like her because of that)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Karen: Why do you think I don’t like you? I do. I would kill for you.
Karen: Ask me to kill for you.
Robin: ...First of all, calm down-
(Oop, that escalated quickly.)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Karen: Why don’t you go talk to them?
Robin, sarcastically: Oh. Yeah, sure.
Karen: What? So you go tell them they’re cute, what’s the worst that could happen?
Robin: They could hear me.
(Robin accidentally mentions she has a crush, while they had a little party with the party)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin, hungover: Please tell me I'm imagining that I claimed I was king of the ducks.
Karen: I would, but then I would be lying to the King of All Ducks.
(Robin drank a bit too much and stayed over)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin, playing a video game: This game is so frustrating! I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!
Karen: Ok, I think it’s time to turn off the game for a little while.
Robin: But I’m having fun!
(I feel that. I am it. It is me)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: You know, you were right.
Karen: About what specifically? Because I’m right about a lot of things.
(Probably about the game)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: Dinosaurs aren't extinct. I mean, Ted is walking in this room.
Karen: *wheeze*
(I don't know how dinosaurs are an insult but ok. Just wanted to bring Ted in for the transition)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
[Ted and Robin]
Robin, handing a balloon to Ted: I have no soul. Have a good day!
Ted, walking off: I don't have one either.
(I mean that man is literally Ted. That is what he would respond)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Ted: The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was changing their name to Robin.
(Robin annoys him every chance she gets)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: Guess what I'm about to get!
Ted: On my nerves.
(yes)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: :)
Ted: >:(
Robin: Turn that frown upside down!
Ted: ):<
Robin: Not sure what I was expecting...
(Me neither)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Ted: There's nothing worse than people using big words they don't understand.
Robin: I photosynthesize with this.
(she knows big words but she just says stuff like that to annoy him lol)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: Go big or go home!
Ted: Please, for once in your life just go home. I'm begging you. Go. Home.
Robin: I'm going big!
(he just wants his peace. Poor Ted lol)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: I’m serious! They’re watching me! They’ve even got an agent following me! Don’t you believe me?
Ted: Look, it’s not that I don’t believe you… It’s that I don’t believe you and I don’t care.
(he doesn't care. And he doesn't believe her. He is just annoyed)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Ted: Knock, knock.
Robin: Who's there?
Ted: Boo!
Robin: Boo who?
Ted: Why are you crying?
Robin: I'm not crying.
Ted: Hello notcrying, I'm Ted.
(He wanted to annoy her back once and pulled a dad joke since his kids hated them. But jokes on him. She also makes dad jokes they bonded over it somehow. Just a little bit)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin, holding a scooter: Ted! Can I go outside and play with this?
Ted: Sure, whatever. I'm not your parent, okay?
Robin, running outside: Thanks Ted!
Ted, running out after them and screaming: NOT ON THE STREET! STAY AWAY!
(omg. He does care)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Ted: What do you want for breakfast, Robin?
Robin: Gay Cheerios.
Ted: I TOLD YOU TO STOP CALLING FRUIT LOOPS THAT!!
(Ted is not homophobic. He just doesn't give a fuck. Any Robin just loves to annoy him. Also he doesn't really yell or scream he just says it with a very frustrated voice. Also Holly picks up on Robin's jokes and also calls them gay Cheerios. She just likes to copy Robin)
(lol just realized gay Cheerios is basically the Unholy Trinity from Glee. Love them)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
[Joyce and Robin]
Joyce: *Turns on the kitchen light*
Robin: *Sitting at the table, eating bread*
Joyce: It’s four in the morning.
Robin: Turn the light back off.
(this is funny. Also Robin couldn't sleep so she went to the kitchen eating one of her comfort foods. ✨🥖Bread🥖✨)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Joyce: Robin, can I ask you a question?
Robin: Sure, anything.
Joyce: Why don't you go back to your own house and leave us alone?
(Robin wants to steal Will lol. Like in the last one. And when the Byers moved back she was there a lot with Murray tho.)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Joyce: We all have our demons.
Joyce, grabbing Robin: This one’s mine!
(trying to steal her son)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Joyce: Hey, what’s the name of the guy who lives down the hall?
Robin: His cats' names are Walter and Rose.
Joyce: That's not what I asked.
Robin: That is all the information I have.
(The Byers visiting Robin in her new apartment)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: Can we get a birthday cake?
Joyce: It’s not your birthday.
Robin: The cake won’t know!
(Robin wants a cake for the little apartment tour/party)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Joyce: Robin, why does your bucket list have ‘Die’ on it?
Robin: So I can die feeling at least a little bit accomplished.
(Joyce noticed it in Robin's bedroom when she was looking around. Also oof. But smart. I need to write it down)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: Don’t mansplain this to me!
Joyce: Wh- I’m a woman! I can't mansplain anything to you!
Robin: …Well, I’m a feminist, and I believe a woman can do anything a man does!
(I just found the quote funny)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: Hostage or not, sometimes it’s nice being held.
Joyce: Are you okay.
(talking about the time with the Russians)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Joyce: Life could be worse, Robin.
Robin: Life could be a lot better too!
(so true. So true)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Joyce: How would you rate your pain?
Robin: 0/10. Would not recommend.
(yeah. Like not at all good 👎)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: If bees can be fish and boys can be girls, then why can't my mom love me?
Joyce: I thought I was going to have to yell at you, but now I think I should hug you.
(yes Qvq give her a hug)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
[+Hopper]
Robin, to Joyce: If you see Hopper, give them this message *makes a neutral face*
Robin: They'll know what it means.
*later*
Joyce: oh, and Robin said to give you a message.
Joyce: *makes a neutral face*
Hopper: Oh no. The neutral face of displeasure.
(he's seen it a lot when he was at Murray's... The reason is still unknown 👀)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Hopper: Nothing feels better than winning Monopoly. Not love, not sex, not free pizza, nothing!
Robin: I’m sorry, have you tried pizza?
Hopper: Yes, and it doesn’t compare to owning half the board and watching the light die from your friend’s eyes as you take their money and feel your friendship slowly deteriorate.
Joyce: I like you.
(jopper UwU yay. Also oof and yes same)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Hopper: I never tell people off the bat that I'm gay. I wait. I wait until they say some homophobic shit and then I laugh and am like "you know I'm Bisexual right?" and watch the look of terror on their face.
Robin:
Robin: I like you.
(omg Hopper is Bi 👀 is that why he is at Murray's 👀)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Hopper: What are you drinking?
Robin: Vodka.
Hopper: Straight?
Robin: No, gay. Why?
(Gay vodka ✨)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: School sucks.
Hopper: I know, but you have to do it so you can get a job.
Robin: What are jobs like?
Hopper: They suck.
(Oof. Depends. But yes)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: *sighs*
Hopper: You bored?
Robin: Yeah.
Hopper: Wanna start drama for no reason?
Robin: I thought you’d never ask.
(they love drama. Also they just annoy the others with puns)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: Anyone down to take couples counseling and see at what point the therapist realizes we barely know each other?
Hopper: Idiots to lovers, 20k words, angst with a happy ending.
(omg maybe he definitely was reading AO3 in the other incorrect quotes. Also I would love to read something like that)
Kidnapper: I have one of your friends.
Hopper: Which one? I have seven.
Kidnapper: The loud, annoying, rowdy one who never shuts up.
Hopper: Ah. You have Robin.
Robin, distantly: HEY!!!
(he loves her tho. He is just as loud and annoying when they start making puns)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: I’m so tired.
Hopper: Did you get to bed late?
Robin: No.
Hopper: Did you do something strenuous?
Robin: No.
Hopper: Then why are you tired?
Robin: I’m alive.
Hopper: Sounds exhausting.
(Ah yes. It is)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: How would you like your coffee?
Hopper: As dark and as bitter as my soul.
Robin, shouting to someone behind the counter: I need one vanilla latte with extra cream and sugar!
(he has a big heart)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: I have a 1:30 appointment.
Hopper: Which doctor?
Robin: No, I want the regular doctor.
(They are always trying to get each other with a joke. It's like an ongoing war. And if someone gets tricked the other gets a drink or a snack. Like a little prize)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
[The Sinclairs]
*Sue is casually searching around the room*
Robin: Hey Sue, what’re you looking for?
Sue: My will to live.
*Charles walks into the room*
Sue: Oh, there it is.
(Love this)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Sue: Hey, are you okay?
Robin: Yeah.
Sue: You don't look okay...
Robin: Then stop looking.
(Her mother is being a bitch)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Sue: Do you ever want to talk about your emotions, Robin?
Robin: No.
Charles: I do!
Sue: I know, Charles.
Charles: I’m sad.
Sue: I know, Charles.
(Sue and Charles always talk about their feelings. They are a healthy couple and good parents)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Sue: Are you alright?
Robin: Short answer or long answer?
Sue: Short?
Robin: No.
Sue: Long?
Robin: Nooooooo.
(Lol. Also why. What happened? 🥺 also she finally talked about her emotions)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Sue: WHO ATE MY BREAD?!
Sue: I'M GOING TO K-
Charles: I did?
Sue: Kiss you and buy some more, you haven't been eating anything today Charles.
Sue: *walks away*
Charles:
Charles: They're gone Robin.
Robin, coming out of the closet with bread stuffed in their mouth: Twankh uh!
(Robin loves bread. Also Sue would have said the same to Robin. But Sue also loves bread. They bond over that.)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: One time I went to hand Sue a bowl of soup. I wanted to say “Careful, it’s hot!”, and “Here’s your soup!”, so instead I blurted out “Careful it’s soup.”
(omg yes be careful. Soup could be bad and not good soup 👀)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
[Ronance]
Nancy: Look at me straight in the eyes and tell me the truth, Robin!
Robin: You can’t expect me to look into your eyes and be straight.
(Nancy finally confronted Robin about Steve and Robin came out to her lol. Idk)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: I can't take this anymore, someone needs to take me out!
Nancy: In a dating type of way, or an assassination type of way?
Robin: I don't know, surprise me!
(I hope it was the first option)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Nancy: So you like cats?
Robin: Yeah.
Nancy: *tries to impress them by slowly pushing a glass off the table*
(like I said before. Robin loves cats)
(also this is just all just Nancy trying to flirt with Robin since she came out to her)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Nancy: My hands are cold.
Robin: Here, let me hold them.
Nancy: My lips are cold too.
Robin: *covers Nancy's mouth with their hand*
(Nice try Nancy nice try. But maybe something a bit more obvious)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Nancy: Hey, I’m getting in the shower. Wanna help me out?
Robin: ...Have you never taken a shower before?
(oof. Well I guess you just need to straight up tell her if she doesn't get this l)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: I'm trash.
Nancy: As someone who's environmentally conscious, it's my duty to pick you up. Does 7 work for you?
Robin:
Robin: You smooth motherfucker.
Robin: And yes it does.
(omg it finally worked. Also that was smooth)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Nancy: I feel like doing something stupid.
Robin: I’m stupid, do me.
-- (bonus from the Generator)
Nancy: I still have no idea how I’m attracted to you...
Robin: Yeah, well, you’re stuck with me, and no take backs, Mon amor.
(and well the rest is history. Robin speaking in different languages is like the same thing when Careless Whispers is playing for Nancy (if anyone still gets that joke. I don't know who made it)
--(another Bonus from the Generator)
Nancy: Stop doing that.
Robin: Stop doing what?
Nancy: Saying things that make me wanna kiss the hell out of you.
(🥺)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Nancy walking into the kitchen and seeing all their limes peeled: Robin, I love you but, what the h-e-double FUCK.
Robin, sipping coffee happily: I love you too :)
(Oh god. This is why she can't have coffee. Who gave her that)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: Hey, wanna take a shower with me?
Nancy: I have a gun in that nightstand beside the bed. If I ever say no to that question, I want you to take it out and shot me because I’ve obviously gone crazy.
(Woop. Damn. But you would be crazy if you'd say no)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Robin: Two bros!
Nancy: Chillin' in a hot tub!
Robin and Nancy, in unison: Zero feet apart 'cause we're GAY AS FUCK!
(two bros. Sitting on a tree. B e i n g g ay )
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Nancy: *Holding up a pack of pencils* These are kinda cute.
Robin: Nancy, that’s gay.
Nancy: We’ve been dating for 2 years—
(I wish)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Leave any requests for groups or just people you want to see interact.
So that's the end again. Hope you enjoyed it.
I kinda wanted to add more of Sue and Charles, but there weren't any good ones.
Also here is the other one with the adults if you haven't seen it. There is the context to some of the jokes I made.
Bye and lots of love ✨💕💖✨💖💕✨

Rude epilogue
navigation
Summary: Eddie Munson really wants to marry Y/n Hopper but her dad strongly refuses; based on song “Rude” by MAGIC!
fic is kinda au
Warnings: a little bit of angst, mostly fluff
Words: 1,657
introduction part one part two part three part four part five epilogue here
hi guys!
this little series has come to end! if you have any ideas for any side blurbs feel free to give some ideas in comments, i would love to write more about this couple
Tumblr media
„Propose? Nancy, what are you talking about?”
‘Shit’ was the only thought in Nancy Wheeler’s head. She fucked up. She had so little time to think about saving the situation without causing any suspicion.
“You must heard something on the tv downstairs, I wasn’t talking to anyone” she really hoped that this white lie of her would rescue her; but she also knew that Y/n wasn’t a stupid child who believes everything older people tell them.
“I know exactly what I heard Nance. I may be sad but I’m not deaf or stupid as you may think”
Y/n couldn’t really believe what she heard; it was primarily shocking. Surprising.
Yes, she wanted to marry Eddie so much at some point of life. Could this point happen now? After their barely graduated high school, had shitty jobs and no further perspectives?
For her the answer was clear; yes, it was a little early and she was sure she would hear a lot that she doesn’t know what she’s doing and what she really wants in her life. But the love she shared with Eddie could conquer every obstacle she could ever imagine. The thought of him actually proposing completely changed her mood, making her extremely happy and glad that he propably wasn’t cheating on her.
“I swear Wheeler if this is some kind of sick joke of yours, I will personally beat the shit out of you. You can’t play such games with almost depressed person!”
“Y/n. You know I would never! I’m really sorry I ruined your surprise”
“Hey, it’s okay. Actually I think you really helped me right there. You made most of my worries hide away. But, if Eddie wants to marry me, which couldn’t be more amazing, why is he growing apart? Have I done something wrong and now he wants to back out?”
“No! Of course not. I will tell you why but swear to me on your own life that the fact that I told you about this will only stay between us. On no account you can tell about this to Steve and Robin and most importantly to Eddie himself.” Y/n vigorously nodded her head, little smile appearing on her face “Last week Eddie went to your dad. You know, cause even if he doesn’t especially like him, he loves and respects you. So he wanted to finally win in your dad’s eyes. Wanted to officially ask for a blessing.”
“Oh no.”
“Oh no exactly. As you can expect it didn’t quite work as well as your boyfriend would like to. That’s why he’s mopping around. I heard that your dad was really mean and unpleasant. He’s afraid that if you knew about not having Hopper’s approval you wouldn’t accept this engagement.”
Now everything started to slowly make sense. The lack of Eddie’s smile and his charismatic self. Constant stress and worry.
She was disappointed. A little bit in Eddie that he wasn’t totally honest with her but on the other hand she also knew he had a very good reason to. Also in her father. Sabotaging her own happiness just because he was prejudiced and stubborn? That hurt the most in this whole messy situation. Even when she couldn’t openly and completely reassure her partner, to not break the promise she gave her best friend, she could intervene another way, probably bolder and harder one.
“I’m sorry Nance, but I think we will have to reschedule our slumber party. I have some matter to discuss.”
“You promised Y/n!”
“I’m not going to see Eddie. For now. I’m going to see my freaking father.”
Just like that her earlier plans to avoid coming back home suddenly disappeared.
~
Jim Hopper had a peaceful Saturday. He was of the opinion that he deserved one after the last week fiasco with Joyce and unpleasant morning with Munson boy.
Having Y/n and El out for the day usually didn’t make him happy, more so worried and angry at the boys taking away his girls’ attention. But right now, as bad as it may sound, he couldn’t care less.
They were safe and he had massive mess in his head that needed to be solved as fast as it was possible.
So his plan for the day was to lay on the couch with beer in the hand, eating ordered pizza and watching stupid tv shows. Nothing more, nothing less.
This was supposed to last till at least 9 pm. So hearing the commotion outside had him wondering. He wasn’t suspecting any guests. His daughters always used as much time as he gave them, rarely cutting it short. And Joyce? He knew her long enough to not even try to except her to apologise first.
But hearing the keys in the door he was aware it could only be Y/n.
What he wasn’t ready to see was her puffy face full of anger.
“What did the Munson boy do?”
“I have a better question Jim.” the venom in her voice and avoiding use of ‘dad’ acknowledged him that she wasn’t mad at her boyfriend, he was pissed at him “How dare you dictate how am I suppose to live? How are you able to deny me the one thing that could make me the happiest person alive? Why the fuck you hate Eddie so much you decided to hate me too?”
“Y/n watch your tone. I will not tolerate talking back. I only told him what a I think about this whole ridiculous engagement situation.”
“And I’m not tolerating you disliking my boyfriend! We can’t have everything we want in life. I want to say one thing and I’m packing my shit and going back to Eddie. And you will listen to me.” Y/n knew she was stepping on thin ice; she knew hot-tempered personality of her dad. She knew that cause in that case she was almost the same as him. “No one, not even you will tell me when and who am I suppose to love forever. Why can’t you see that since I met him I’m the happiest version of myself? Everyone can, just not you. He came to you with such little hope that maybe you will show him some human side you have hidden deep inside you, knowing well the answer, knowing well that you hate him and see him as his fucking criminal father. I think this itself showed how much he cares about me, how sure he is in our relationship, but you still wanted to be your stupid stubborn ass believing in your own version of him. And you know what? I’m done. If you can’t accept the fact that Eddie Munson is the love of my life I don’t want to talk to you.”
Jim Hopper was stunned; he knew his daughter was capable of everything but talking back this way to him, who she always loved and cherished the most seemed unbelievable to him. What hurt him the most that she was right - he was stupid, stubborn ass and lately it was showing more and more.
“If you leave this house now, you can never go back.”
“Dad, apparently everything I need is waiting for me elsewhere. So don’t you worry, you won’t see me stepping in this house ever again.”
With only one bag she left, slamming the door to accent her decision. The adrenaline from all of the screaming and fighting, made her break several traffic regulations. But she didn’t care, right now all she wanted was sitting in empty trailer, worrying his pretty head over something he didn’t have a hand in.
“Y/n, what the hell are you doing here? Why do you have your bag?”
“Eddie I know. I know about you and my dad. About him being pain in the ass. Him hating you, disallowing you from asking me to marry you.”
Brunette’s eyes widened at the girl’s speech. This was the thing he was most scared about - having her to choose between him and her only parent.
“Baby. Look at me. We are in this relationship together. You should have told me about stuff like this.”
“And ruin an occasion to give to the best proposal any girl could ever think of? Not in this life baby girl.”
“I don’t care about this stuff! I care about you okay! And seeing you so distant made me overthink into believing you wanted to leave me. That you cheated on me. And this? It broke my heart! You could propose to me any moment, any time, any day. You know I would always say yes.”
“I know. And I’m sorry that I made you worry. Just so you know I would never ever cheat on you or leave you. Not even when someone would try to force me.”
She just smiled. Smiled so beautifully that Eddie felt like his heart would burst out of his chest right now, right there”
“So I suppose you have a question to ask me.”
“You little minx.” laughing honestly for the first time in a week he invited her inside and disappeared for a moment in his room.
Kneeling in front of her with the prettiest ring in the world, all his problems seemed to fly away.
“So what do you say now? Will you marry me?” grinning from ear to ear Y/n kneeled right beside him taking his face in her hands.
“Yes, baby, I will marry you. Always and forever.”
Right now they didn’t see the world beside them. Y/n didn’t care about the harsh world she said to her dad, ignoring the ache in her heart and slight urge to cry caused by the nasty fight with him and Eddie didn’t care about the hatred he received from him. They were made for each other and they knew that together they could solve every problem ever existing in the world.

Im on a 4 hour car ride rn so have some mindless thoughts
Steve, Robin, and Nancy are all flips and take care of each other; Nancy regressing somewhere around 3-7 years old, Robin being the older sister somewhere about 4-9 but she does go younger on some days, Steve regresses the least amount but when he does he regresses to 1.5-3, maybe 4-5 in some days
When Robin and Steve regress together, Robin makes it her life goal to make sure nothing bad ever happens to him and is nearly like how Max is with Jonny
---
Steve is a very sleepy little, it's not an often thing to see him running around playing like Eddie or Robin; He much rather cuddle up and nap while watching cartoons
---
Eddie and Robin have the immune system of a goldfish, they always are sick with something at least once a month; Whether it is the common cold or the flu, it is inevitable for them to call a CG (usually Steve or Nancy) and tell them to no ones suprise
"..teve?"
"Yes Eddie? Is something wrong?"
"..me an Wobby icky :("
And you betcha that Steve is sprinting to make sure that his littles are okay
---
Steve has 2 left feet when he's little, poor boy can barely walk a whole 10 steps without almost falling
Therefore along with Robin, he's completely covered head to toe in bandaids, usually Winnie the Pooh or Ninja Turtles
---
Eddie loves Thundercats and He-Man when he's little, if you turn either of them on and it takes the power of an other wordly being to get him away from it
oh bucko i just got done with a relatively long car ride ╥﹏╥
okay robin being the oldest, nancy being the middle, & steve being the youngest is so so cute oh my goodness (*^^*)// i like to imagine robin wears lots of overalls & primary colors, nancy wears cute skirts, hair clips, & pastel colors, & steve wears basic long sleeves shirts n shorts - he doesn't rlly have a tone of colors he sticks to, he literally just pulls something from his closet & puts it on, which leads to some ... clashing colors. he's comfy tho so he doesn't care
AND ROBIN & STEEEVE ≧﹏≦ she drags him away from anything that seems remotely dangerous to the little guy. it's very funny & very cute but also amusing ,, nancy's caught her dragging - like literally DRAGGING - him away from a counter that had a knife on it. nancy was using the knife to cut up bananas & strawberries for a smoothie 💀
ooo also food for thought, it's not uncommon for one of them to be watching the other & regressing as well, meaning the third steps up to the plate & cares for both of them! or if the third party member isn't available, the oldest regressor at the moment takes on the big sib role .. if that makes sense. LIKE LIKE steve's watching nancy, but he ends up regressing, so nancy takes on the big sibbie role bc she tends to stick around the 3 - 7 age range
❛ ━━━━━━・❪ ❁ ❫ ・━━━━━━ ❜
sleepy little steviiie (≧∇≦)ෆ he likes cuddling up with nancy bc she's calmer than rob & eddie - she has energy, but she rather put it into puzzle games bc those are her faaaavorite!! eddie runs over to the couch to ask the two to play hide-n-seek w him & robin, but steve's already asleep with his head in nance's lap, blanket tucked up to his chin & a thumb popped in his mouth while nancy is invested in this episode of my little pony ,, or or eddie does manage to get them to play .. but when he finds steve hiding under the bed he's conked out KSJRKSKE ,, there was one time where steve accidentally fell asleep in the best hiding spot ever & the other three panicked because they couldn't find him anywhere!!
steve woke up by himself & wandered out from the cabinets, rubbing his eyes & cracking his back, in his bigspace — "ugh, what the hell-?"
& they all glomp him like "STEVIE!"
❛ ━━━━━━・❪ ❁ ❫ ・━━━━━━ ❜
literally the moment eddie calls in to tell steve he's feelin icky steve is THERE. it's like he teleported or smth bc he got there SO fast (when rlly he ran a few red lights & almost got stopped by the cops in order to get to the store & mass buy EVERYTHING health-related there). from that point on robin & eddie think steve is capable of teleportation
steve absolutely DOTES on them. whatever they want, he'll get it. cuddles? you betcha. candy? three of their favorites. more juice? have as many cups as they'd like
❛ ━━━━━━・❪ ❁ ❫ ・━━━━━━ ❜
robin likes the tmnt ones & steve likes the winnie the pooh ones, i don't make the rules i only instill them (❁´◡`❁) steve also likes sticking bandaids on them even if they aren't hurt - like stickers!! they run out within a few days of buying them & steve himself had to hide them so little him would stop JEKRJWKD
❛ ━━━━━━・❪ ❁ ❫ ・━━━━━━ ❜
god if anyone dares turn off thundercats or he-man while he's watching all hell breaks loose: "eddie, it's bathtime-"
"NO!"
"eddie-"
"NOOOO!!!"
only nancy is brave enough to face his wrath. she stands like a statue to his whining & kicking & literally goes "are you done now?" after he tuckers himself out. she's the only one who doesn't have to deal with his tantrums when it comes to turning off the tv bc he knows she's not afraid to set him in timeout for a few minutes

Dazed and Confused (S1: 2/?)
Pairing: Steve Harrington x Female!Reader
Warnings: mild langage
Word Count: 2k
Part Summary: After Steve spends the night at Y/N Jonathan Byers accuses Y/N of getting too close to her best friend’s boyfriend
Masterlist
Tumblr media
I wake up to a banging on my door. It sounds like an uncontrollable jackhammer.
“Y/N! Oh Princess Y/N!” My mom screeches on the other side. “Wake up! You have to pick up Dustin in thirty minutes!”
The last bit grabs my attention. My eyes fly open and I attempt to sit up but I’m pinned down. My head whips to the side and Steve is sound asleep next to me. His arm is draped across my stomach keeping me pinned. In a rush, I shove him off of me and fly out of bed. Steve wakes up abruptly and falls off the mattress onto the floor with a thud.
“Shit!” He blurts out.
“What was that?” My mom asks worriedly.
Wide-eyed, I stare down Steve who peers up at me from the floor.
“I’m just getting ready! I’ll be out in five!” I shout to my little brother.
Thankfully, I hear him patter off as he grumbles various curse words under his breath.
I must look like a crazy lady as I run around my room getting ready. My hair is going in a ponytail today because there’s no way I have time to style it. Steve moves about me, collecting his things. It’s Friday so that makes picking out an outfit rather easy. It’s game day, so cheer uniform. I start changing from my pajamas into my cheer uniform. I hop on one leg as I remove my shorts and rush to grab my skirt off my dresser. As I slip off my t-shirt and change into my vest, I check my appearance in the mirror on my dresser.
Behind me, Steve eyes me curiously. He appears in some sort of wide-eyed daze.
I whip my head around to check on him. “You okay?”
He hums absentmindedly. Then, he shakes his head repeatedly to snap how of it. “Yeah! Uh… it’s just… um… you…” he stammers, “uh…. Nevermind! I’ll see you in a little bit,” he says as he goes to climb out of my window.
“Okay? Catch ya later.” I laugh, wondering why he’s acting so odd.
He’s such a goofball. I wonder if it’s because I freaked him out when I woke him up. Oh well, he scared me last night so karma.

Once we arrive at school, Dustin runs off to join the boys who have all agreed to dress as the Ghostbusters for school. Since the Demogorgon incident, Dustin and I have grown closer. We live on the same block and being only children help.
Nancy isn’t at her locker when I arrive at my own, odd. What’s even weirder is Jonathan is waiting for me.
“Hey,” I greet him with a raised brow.
It’s not that I dislike Jonathan, we’re simply not close friends. Sure, we had a bonding experience last year but he and I are very different people.
“Hey,” he stuffs his hands into his back pockets nervously. “Have you… uh… have you seen Nancy?”
Interesting, Byers looking for Nancy. If this were any other day she would be here beside me and I wouldn’t be standing here with Jonathan but apparently, today isn’t going to be average.
“Nope, I haven’t. I was wondering where she is myself. Usually, she’d be here by now,” I fill him in on the lastest as I put the combination into my locker.
“Well if you see here will you tell her I have something for her?” He requests.
“Is it your love confession?” I tease.
“Huh?” He acts oblivious to what I mean.
“Oh please, it’s clear as day you have a thing for Nance," I snicker as I pull out my books. "I’ve known since Steve and I showed up at your house last year.” I glance over my shoulder at him and it’s evident I’ve spooked him. My bluntness tends to have that effect on people. "Look,” I say gently and quietly between us. “I won’t say anything. I understand that she’s with Steve. So, you feel like there’s no point but it’s important to say how you feel and be honest.”
"Just like how you’re honest with Steve about having a thing for him?” He boldly fires back.
I scoff, he’s delusional! Me and Steve, really? There’s no way! I laugh, “I don’t have a-”
“Really? Yesterday in the gym?” He challenges.
His question, more like a threat, takes me by surprise. What, so Jonathan is watching me now? He’s eavesdropping on my conversations?
“How about over the summer?” He presses further, stepping closer until he towers over me. “You two were together more than he and Nancy ever were! How about this morning when I was on my way to school and saw him climbing out of your window? Hm? How about that?”
Okay, now I’m just getting pissed. “I can assure you, Steve loves Nancy!” I growl. “There’s is nothing, and I mean nothing, between us! Now I suggest you stop acting like a tough guy before I remind you who really holds all the power here,” I threaten him.
He forgets that I’m the captain of the cheer squad. I’m adored around here. He’s some punk who hangs out all day in the photography classroom. If he really wishes to test me, I can promise I will win. I always win.
“Fine then…” he mutters, mere inches from my face. “But remember, I could easily tell Nancy about last summer.”
He steps back with narrowed eyes locked on me until he turns around to slip away. I watch, stunned, as he disappears into the cluster of students traveling about the hall. A bit disturbed, to say the least, I lean back against the lockers to catch my breath.
I don’t like Steve, that’s crazy! Steve… Steve and I… we’re just friends, really good friends, best of friends! Jonathan is psychotic and tossing out random ideas to get a rise out of me. All we did was hang out over the summer! He was already dating Nancy, my oldest friend! I would never ever betray her like that! Screw Byers.
________________________
After last period, I return to my locker to pack up my homework. As I’m packing up my stuff, Nancy pops up next to me all distraught. She’s shaky and appears frightened, the same way she did when fighting the Demogorgon.
“Nance? Nancy, what’s wrong? What happened?”  I ask her repeatedly, already worried.
She scans the area, making sure no one is watching us. Swiftly, she pulls into the girls bathroom.
I stumble inside, immediately checking the stalls to make sure we’re alone. Once I determine the coast is clear, I spin around to face her.
Her arms are wrapped around her tightly like a blanket. She swallows hard, her glazed eyes meet mine in fear. “I saw Barb!” She whispers as though she’ll be struck for doing so.
That’s impossible. We left Barb in the Upside Down. She’s gone. She’s dead.
“You what?” I shake my head in disbelief, pacing away from her.
“In the library!” She explains, "I saw her! She called out for us! She said this wasn’t me! She said you were hiding! Pretending!”
Now frightened, I whip my head around to face her directly. I note the hint of hope in her eyes that’s overpowered by guilt. I mourned Barb. We all did. I’m sorry for her parents, I am truly, but everyone is right! There’s nothing we can do! What’s done is done! All we can do is move on and live our lives!
I refuse to relive the endless guilt, depression, and anxiety that consumed me for months on end. I felt like a shell of a human for almost a year after what happened. I can’t do this.
“I have to go to drive Dustin home,” I announce.
Quickly, I cross the room toward the door. I have to get out of here. This is nonsense.
Nancy grabs my wrist before I pass her, “But Y/N-”
I yank my arm free from her grip, “goodbye Nancy!”
Shaken for the second time today, I storm out of the bathroom and hurry toward the exit. I grip the handle of my purse, unable to control my shaky hands. Tears coat my eyes and threaten to slip down my cheeks.
Flashbacks of that horrid night take over my train of thought. I see it clear as day. All of the blood, the sting from my arm, the pressure of that monster pinning me down. Everything I’ve been suppressing demands to be felt again. I’m living in my own personal Hell.
As I push through the doors to the parking lot, the bright sunlight blinds me for a second. People cluster outside the school in their cliques. I weave between them, eager to get to my car and fly home. I can’t allow anyone to see me like this. I’m the strong one. I have my life together. I can’t break.
In the distance, Dustin leans against the passenger door waiting for me. I keep telling myself that I’m almost there, just a couple of steps more.
“Y/N-” Someone grabs my shoulder to stop me.
Caught off guard and already distraught, I gasp and my bag slips from my shoulder to the pavement.
I peer up to see Steve eyeing me with such compassion that I nearly slip and start sobbing. I wish I could tell him everything zooming through my mind but I can’t, it’s not his burden to bear.
Urgently, he gathers my bag off the ground and places it on my shoulder. His hand lingers on my forearm, rubbing up and down comfortingly. I attempt to hide my shakiness by crossing my arms tightly.
“You’re upset,” he states the obvious but I know he means well. “Are you alright?”
I hum, nodding my head repeatedly. If I attempt to speak my voice may crack and then he’ll never let me go. Please Steve, I understand that you’re checking on me and I know you truly care but please let me go.
“What is it?” He scrunches his eyebrows as he shifts on his heels. “Is it about Nancy? She was speaking about Barb earlier. Did she confront you about it? If it is I-”
“Y/N!” Dustin shouts over to us impatiently.
For once, I won’t argue with him about interrupting me. “I have to go,” I mumble under my breath and rush off before Steve has the chance to object.
Once I’m a few feet away from Dustin, he notices my state and instantly climbs into the car without any questions.
After I toss my bag into the backseat and move up front, I take a moment to gather myself and blast some music before I start driving.
“Shitty day?” Dustin finally breaks the silence.
Rubbing my temples, I snicker, “to put it simply.”
He sighs, “Yeah, me too. First, all of the little assholes at school decide not to dress up this year. My guess is they all formed a pact and kept us out of it. It was all pretty embarrassing. Then, there’s this new girl, Max, smoking’ hot, but thinks she’s cooler than everyone else. Lucas likes her too… We followed her around for a little bit but then… well shit… she was onto us. Do you wanna talk about your day?” He offers to listen.
I shake my head and open my eyes. Exhaling deeply, I grip the wheel and prepare to go. “No, because if I do then it will lead down a dark road that I don’t wish to travel ever again.”
Dustin respects my silence and he talks most of the way home. I appreciate him not forcing me to speak about the horrors of today. Right now, I much rather listen and be distracted. Today was one of the worst days I’ve had in a while. At least tonight is the party. I could really use some mindless fun, risky shenanigans, and most importantly, booze.

My journey into feminization how did it begin? It is difficult to pin point a specific age, but I would guess I was about 11 years old. Yes, confused by sexual urges and excitement when looking at pictures of pretty girls in magazine ads wearing only panties and bras. Mmm, then 'borrowing' intimate female garments and wearing them. Feelng the overwhelming rush of pleasure and my first orgasm while wearing female clothing. Through the years I've tried to suppress this urges to dress as a woman. Being married was so frustrating as my wife left her intimate garments all over the house. It was like being in a candy store: bras, panties, lingerie all within reach. Unable to resist I would carefully try on bra or nightie when she was out shopping. At one point she mentioned something about one nightie being worn out in the "wrong" places. But she never questioned me. After all why would her man be turned on by wearing panties? Looking back she was very smart, she knew better than to confront me head on, lol. She knew I would not admit it or make up some bullshit story. She was very subtle, one night after making love she asked me if I had any sexual fantasies, my response was no love, none that I can think of. Another time she make the following comment, " I wish I had something to poke you with". Wow, she was so close. I was a bit stunted, didn't have a good response, lol. Several months later during our forplay love making she starts licking my nipples, omg, wtf!! Do you like it she says, with her hand on my growing manhood there was no escape, no denial. You like it don't you? I said yes, grasping for air and moaning as she began to rub the tip of my cock with her finger while continuing to lick and suck on my nipples. Then she slid her hand below my balls and started stroking and messaging the area just above my ass hole. After five minutes or this action she get up, pulls off her soaked panties then leans towards me with panties in hand and whispers in my ear, ' guess what I found in your bag Jim?' I found at least 10 pairs of my panties Jim, wtf all stained with your cum! "So you like to jerk off and cum in my panties, really?" What could I say but yes. I tried to explain why but she was upset? She then took her wet panties wrapped them around my almost limp manhood and said show me how you like you jerk off im my panties! I was so embarrassed, but I was wrong to have taken her things, this was my punishment, Yes? I reached down and started stroking my cock but it was very limp by now, I could not get hard. She saw my problem and whispers in my ear, "what's the problem, sissy panty boy, can't jerk off in front of your hot sexy wife? never touch my things again!, if you do, you will never fuck or cum inside me again. Do you understand me? Yes, hon I understand, good. Now where are my panties, Uh where you put them dear, yes they are yours now. Uh, keep them clean and if you wear these out (giggle) we will go out together and buy you more. Yes, I'll let the pretty sales lady know my size and yours (giggle). One more thing, when we make love, make sure you are wearing a clean pair of lacy pink panties. You are my panty boy husband now (giggle). I guess you better learn to get excited and hard while wearing female panties or you will never fuck me again (giggle): panty boy. Next day I after work I set out the task of hand washing 'my' panties in hope of getting lucky later that evening. Ok, hot water and some laundry soap and a 15 minutes soak, rinse and then toss into the dryer should to the trick right? Right before we went to bed I quickly grabbed my panties and climbed into bed. My wife had been observing my laundry duties activities that evening and I assumed we were cool. My hopes of an evening of
having sex where dashed when she turned the lights on stating: it's panty check time, stand up and let examine your feeble attempts to clean these! Ok, I can still see your nasty stains, what temperature did you wash these in? Hot I relied, she laughed, you idiot you should have used cold, as now you've 'set' the stain and ruined a pretty pair of panties. Oh well I guess we will have to go panty shopping tomorrow. Maybe Victoria's Secret? I understand Nancy, your friend Mike's wife just started working there (giggle), maybe she can let us use her discount? She then put her hand on my softening member and said, 'well give it some thought, panty boy, good night. WTF, now she is straight up trying to sexually blackmail me and expose me really? I got out of bed headed for the bathroom sobbing, how could my sweet wife be so cruel. Fifteen minutes or so she knocks on the door, " Jimmy are you ok"? No I'm, how could I be ok when you want to humiliate me and expose my fetish to my friends? Oh you admit it now that you are little perverted panty stealing panty boy? Her words cut me through me like a knife, but she was right. Stand Jim, look at yourself in the mirror wearing my soiled panties, tell me baby who and what did I fall in love with? Then she placed her had on my limp cock and said, I love you but tell me about all your fetishes now or we are done: confess! I'm not going to play a guessing game with you understand! Sobbing, I began to spill my guys about how was molested by an older boy at 11, my Aunt confessed to dressing me as a girl when I was very young,
dressing my mothers lingerie. Yes, I've have fantasies about being fucked my a man while being dressed as a woman. With years in my eyes I looked at my wife, what she was crying too? Why are you crying I asked? I'm so sorry that so many people have hurt you babe and that you are so fucked up now. Maybe we can both get into therapy, you know get some professional help? But for this moment, let's promise to be more open and honest with our sexual feelings and desires ok? Babe I'm sorry I got do angry with you but you did sneak my panties? I had no idea that my panties turned you on so much to the point that you would willing wear them? She started rubbing my pantied cock as she spoke, you know Jim, have a little fantasy of my own. What she whispered in my ear next blew me away. Jim, sometimes I think about being with a woman, coddling and fondling each others breasts? Jim, I, I think I might be Bi? I sorry I've never shared this with you but you understand right ? At that moment, my cock began to swell, she got her answer. Now pulling my panties down she began licking the very backside tip of my cock, you know Jim, maybe I will be willing to support you, like helping you dress like a lady, apply make up and maybe if you wish be with a man as a woman. With these words I erupted a stream of thick sperm all over her beautiful face. Wow, that was fast hon, you agree with my suggestions? Awesome, now for your first lesson Jamie, lick up all the cum you sprayed over my face. Yes, play the part bitch you need to learn to love the taste of your cum. Yes, your female name is Jamie now, do you like it? That's right clean me up, good gurl. Now it's my turn to be pleasured, now be a good lesbian bitch and eat my sweet pussy, XOXO.
Chapter 2 The List
The next morning Carol, my wife was up early and out of the house without waking me. No breakfast or coffee, man that woman be slipp'in, I thought. Well, what looks good in the frig? Oh man, lookie here, a heart shaped note from wifey. [Hi Jim I went shopping with Margie this morning, not sure when I'll be back but, please pickup the following items at the corner drug store:
tampons, pantyhose, nail polish (pink), eye shadow base & palate, concealer, face primer, eyeliner (water proof), mascara, blush, bronzer, highlighter, lip gloss, cosmetic brush set, foundation, setting spray and pamprin. Jim, if you need help just ask the salesgirl in
cosmetics, you know the one you always flirt with, you know Desiree, giggle. Oh and make sure you are wearing the pink lace panties that I let in your drawer. They are yours now, Jamie. Love Carol XOXO, P.S., I've invited some friends over for dinner so please be home by 4 pm.] Groan, I HATE shopping, especially for girl stuff! Ok, so off to drug store I went, stright to the cosmetics counter, list in hand. There she was, Desiree behind the counter, may I help you, she asked? Desiree was the gorgeous offspring of Spanish and Irish parents, about 5' 9" light green eyes and light brown to blonde hair. Her makeup was always impeccable, skirts and blouse always tight and ample cleavage on display. Carol was right that I did flirt with Desiree in the past, but Carol was always with me. It was different now, I was alone and what she possibly thinking? I mean, Carol had always shopped for her own cosmetics and fem items? Looking into her eyes my mind went blank, dry mouth, etc. I handed her the list and mumbled, my wife needs this stuff and I have no idea. Sure, no problem, I can get these for. Carol is your wife right? Yeah, she was in earlier, something about a need for a change and wanted you and I to help her with a make-over surprise. I can help you with every thing on the list except the tampons, their in aisle 12. Oh, and I'll need your help with selecting the foundation shade to ensure a good color match. Ok, what ever I said, I'll be back with the wifey's tampons in a couple minutes. As I walked away, Desiree's last words, "color matching" stuck in my head... Carol's skin tone was much lighter than mine? Mmm, aisle 12, ok here we go, no idea really what to buy my wife, so many confusing choices. I must have been searching for the correct tampons for at least 15 minutes when Desiree found me. Hi, need some help? Absolutely? I have no idea what she needs. Laughing at my ignorance of feminine hygiene products, explained that Carol would at minimum need pads and most likely will need a tampon for her 'heavy' period flows. My suggestion is get her both. Is so sweet and thoughtful of you to do pick these up for you wife, I'm sure she appreciates it. Now let's go go back to the cosmetic department and I ring up your items? Sounds like a plan, I said. Ok, let's try this new foundation shade shall we? Desiree reached for my hand, this was a new level: physical contact. I could feel my heart beating faster, well if well if you have to I said? Desiree, her hand still gently touchind my hand, looked me in the eyes and said, Jim, it is necessary to be sure we get an accurate match and you do want to please your Wife don't you? Yes, of course I want to make Carol happy. Well good, smiling as she applied the foundation to my hand Desiree said, you know Jim, it's not like anyone's going to make assumptions about your sexuality. I mean, why would a handsome stud like you want to wear make up? Ok, of course your are right, I told her. Oh, awesome Jim, this color is perfect. Carol will love it.
Great what is the final damage for all this, I asked? Sure, your total comes to $75.65. Ok, wow this stuff sure adds up fast! Ok here's $76, as Desiree handed back my change she dropped a dime. Oh, so sorry, no problem I said bending over to retrieve .10 cents and at that moment exposing my pink lace thong panties in full view of Desiree. So humiliating, I was speechless. Desiree with a big smile handed me my merchandise but me close and whispered, I love a man who likes to embrace his feminine side, Carol is so lucky.
Chapter 3 - No Refunds, No Returns
So I returned home with all the cosmetics Carol had on your list. She met me as I entered our apartment with big hug, then said that she had to leave again. No big deal, but asked me to read a letter she had written to me. Ok, problem, writing letters was something we did when we first started dating. Jim, l'll be back in about 2 hours, so please read my little ' love' note before I return. One more hug as she felt up my ass for the outline of the thong panties, still wearing them I see? Good, I so happy you did, it says you respect my wishes. I am going to make you so happy you did. Then she kissed me deeply and left without saying where she was going? Oh well, now where is this letter? I found Carol's letter on my pillow, she started, my Dearest husband, tonight I will make your fantasy of being a woman a reality. Don't deny it Jim. I found your hidden stash of female undergarments, shemale porn, etc. Really, why did you NOT trust me enough with your kinky desires? No matter, I know now and I still you move than you realize. Tonight I will give your fantasy, but know this our relationship will change. The changes will be (giggle) sort of a role reversal? To start: take a nice hot bubble bath, yes use mine girly stuff XOXO. Next, use my sugar rub all over your body to exfoliate your skin and then shave all your body hair, yes lov, your arms, legs, chest, balls and ass. Next raise in with cold water
and gently dry ourself. Next, hydrate your skin with some lotion be liberal with it. Now Jim, you don't have much time left so get started. Oh, once your done with this bathing routine, look in your drawer and closet. Yes I picked out some cute girly things for you to wear love XOXO. Make sure you are wearing each item when I return? If NOT, trust me You will sorely regret it!! But I know you will be a Good girl for your wife, your Mistress now won't you? And don't act like you don't know how to put on a bra, panty hose, corset, or breast forms. Please Sissy, remember I know what you've doing when your alone and I'm at work. You see I also found your pictures lol. Well, no more secrets BITCH! I demand you to be ready for me to apply your make up and wig when I return. No excuses! Yes dear, I will be fully shaved and dressed when return. Ok, good, I will be at 7 pm sharp! Out of fear and excitement I started drawing my bubble bath. While the tub was filling I looked into the closet and drawer to see what my wife had purchased. My sweet wife had filled my drawer will so many pretty panties and bras all different styles and colours. These were all mine, really? Wow, what was in my closet? Just a quick peek, so many cute skirts, dresses and tops, all mine? Ok, time was slipping away and the tub was nearly full now. As instructed, I soaked in the fraguent bubble bath for a half hour so relaxing then scrubbed every inch of my body possible with a sugar exfoliate scrub. I then covered my body with a girly shaved cream and shaved my legs, arms, chest, groin, balls and ass. I then showed in cold water to rinse off the remaining shave cream. As I dried my body off the scent purfume and softness of my now hairless body caused me to feel so girly/ feminine, excited and horny. I resisted my base urges to pleasure myself and pushed on to getting dressed as it was almost time for my wife to return. So many panties so many choices, will of I selected a cute pink lace thong panties with matching bra and garter belt. Slipping the panties on another temptation to pleasure myself. Not enough time, 6:30 pm, still had to put on the breast plate and corset. I secured the 38 D breasts to my chest using the medical grade adhesive. Looking the mirror was a bit of a let down, so much work and I still looked like a man, a man with big breasts and small waist. I was nearly in tears when I heard the front door open, Carol would be coming in bedroom any moment and I was pretty much half naked. I quickly grabbed a blouse, skirt and heels got them on and posing on the bed, just as door opened. Knock, knock... omg Jim, Carol told me to just let myself in, that my make over project would be sitting on the bed. It was Desire, Carol WTF!! I was humiliated once again, I began sobbing uncontrollably, why Carol, why? Desiree gave me several tissues to dry tears. I don't understand, why would do this? She came closer and hugged me. I never been this close to Desiree or so absolutely vulnerable before. She knew just like Carol that I was to be a sissy no denial. Jim, she said, Carol is giving you a gift, this is what you want really. Carol loves you didn't understand or how to help you experience being a girl. I can sweet heart. Yes, Carol may have, did violate your privacy by sharing your sissy feelings with me but I agreed to help you both. She then kissed me on the lips and said go wash away those trears hon and let's transform you into a beautiful woman. Before she applied my make up she asked me to remove my skirt and blouse, something about not getting any make on my clothes, ok made sence? Desiree was wonderful explaining the fairly complicated process of applying the various types make up, contouring, eye shadow, liner, etc. I almost forgot that I was half naked inches away from a gorgeous woman. The scent of her purfume and beautiful cleavage got the best of my unrestrained manhood. Desiree noticed my problem and said, I see you are getting turned on baby? You like it that I'm feminizing don't sweety? Oh of course you do

here’s my byler autumn event one shot i kinda hate it
Drunk on Halloween
inspired by the song “drunk on halloween” by wallows
⚠️TW: drinking/alcohol consumption⚠️
Michael Wheeler was being dragged to a high school party that one of Lucas’s basketball teammates were throwing. It was a halloween party and the rest of the party had begged Mike to dress up as the Mystery Gang with them but he refused. Ever since Will had moved away 3, now almost 4 years ago, it was hard to spend Halloween together, especially because of the distance but they did, every year. Except for this one apparently. And Mike didn’t like celebrating without him, so for the first time ever, he didn’t dress up this year.
This year El had come into town to celebrate Halloween with them. Will had come to, but he wasn’t at the party. He didn’t know where he was and even if he did, Will probably wouldn’t want to see him, not since last Halloween.
“Mike!” Max called to him from the back door, “We’re gonna go out back and play a quick game of basketball, wanna come?”
He just shook his head, resulting in Max rolling her eyes and heading out the back door. Mike stayed in the corner, leaning against the wall, drinking his can of coke. He didn’t like parties. He didn’t like being around all these people, yelling, dancing, just so many people. He couldn’t just go dance and drink without thinking about if people were watching him and if they were, what they were thinking. So he stayed in the corner. Away from everything.
Usually he and Will would be in the corner together. Laughing and talking about people’s costumes and dance moves. Drinking soda because neither liked the feeling of alcohol, and waiting until their friends would say it’s time to go. Usually they’d be together, this time was different.
Well only for about 10 minutes when Will bumped into him in the corner.
“Sorry I hope you don’t mind I’m here with you, it’s just loud and I can’t find my sister, she said we’d only have to be here- Mike?”
“Will. Hey” Mike said awkwardly, tugging at his hair a little “I thought you weren’t coming to the party”
“Yeah well El made me, my mom too. Said it was important to come, see my friends again, you know the same stuff. But I was tired and didn’t want to go, so El promised only for an hour, I don’t know where she is though” He shrugged
“Yeah totally” But Mike knew he didn’t want to come because he didn’t want to see him. “You didn’t come with us though?”
“Robin dropped me off”
“Oh” Even though the party was loud as all hell, the silence between him and Will killed him. “Are you drinking?” He asked, pointing to the cup in Wills hand
“Ha no, you know I don’t like alcohol, it’s just sprite.” He smiled for the first time he’d seen him that night.
And Mike smiled back. And it stayed like that for a little, both smiling with each other in the corner, like old times. And Mike took a risk. He got the confidence to bring it up. He finally got it in that moment.
“Will about that night, last Halloween,” And he fucked it up. Because the smile immediately disappeared from Wills face and his eyes became wide with panic, as he looked around the room for some kind of escape.
“Will I, I’m sorry okay-“
“No Mike, just forget it okay? I want to forget it, we’re fine”
“Will I know we aren’t, I just want to talk about it. Please”
“You had all year to talk about it. I wanted to talk about it, but you chose to forget it, and now i want to too.”
Mike opened his mouth, searching for some kind of response, any reply to make it better, but he couldn’t think, he couldn’t find one.
“I should go Mike.” He sighed “Tell El I went home. We’re staying at Dustins, make sure she gets home safe.”
“Okay” And he got that same feeling he got when he watched Will bike away that summer of ‘85. The guilt, heartbreak, anger at himself all coming back. And then the music felt louder than normal. It hurt his head and he just wanted to leave. And as babyish as it sounded, he wanted to be in his moms arms.
He threw his coke away and went to the front, and took a seat on the porch steps. Putting his head in his hands, trying to block out the sounds, the loud music that gave
him a headache. He just wanted to talk to Will, to be with him, talk to him, make things right. He wanted to try it, he didn’t want to be scared. He knew what he wanted and wanted to go through with it.
“Mike?” Dustin and Max were in front of him now, “Are you okay? What happened?”
———————————————————————
“Are you drunk?” Mike laughed as Will slumped his head on his shoulder. They were sitting on the bathroom floor. Will said it was too loud for him and Mike took him to the bathroom. He had a red solo cup full of something. He didn’t know what, but Wills breath smelled a little like alcohol.
“I’m not drunk! You know I only drink soda” Will said smiling up at Mike
“I think you mistook some alcohol for soda William” He teased, brushing some of Wills hair out of his face. “How are you feeling?”
“Tired”
“Do you want to go home?”
“No I like being here with you. Do you like being here with me?” He asked, eyes closed now
“Of course I do. I’ve missed you a lot Will, I’m really glad you came home for Halloween”
“I’ve missed you too. My friends don’t like Halloween” He pouted a little
“They sound crazy”
“No were crazy remember?”
“Ha yeah we are. Are you feeling a little crazy Will?” He asked looking down at Will who was playing with Mikes jacket zipper
“Yes”
“How come?”
“I like someone”
“Really? I never thought this day would come” Mike chuckled “Who?”
And to Mikes surprise, Will sat up, looked him in the eyes, and placed a soft quick kiss on his lips. And for a couple seconds, Mike kissed back and then he felt a snap of reality and pulled away.
“Will..”
“Mike” He smiled
“You’re drunk, you don’t mean that.”
And his smile fell
“Yes I do, I like you Mike.”
“Will cmon this” he motioned between them “It wouldn’t work”
“You kissed back, don’t you want it to?”
“I- I don’t know. I mean the kiss was nice, but it wouldn’t work. It couldn’t. We’re both boys Will, what would my family think? Our friends?”
“They might not care, our friends love us, and your mom and nancy cares about you so much.”
“That’s a big might Will. And I cant trust my family. Nancy maybe but my mom? My dad, holly even.” He started tugging at the back of his hair. He really needed to stop doing that.
“But Mike-“
“I don’t want to talk about this Will!” Mike softened his voice “I just, I don’t want to talk about this, please” He put a hand on Wills shoulder, but Will pulled away.
“Fine Mike. But maybe you should try facing your feelings, instead of running away from them all the time.”
————————————————————
“Can you take me to see Will, Dustin?”
“Sure”
The car ride was quiet as everyone kept giving side eyes to Mike. They didn’t know what was wrong, but knew if it was about Will, it was important.
Dustin dropped Mike off at his house, saying the rest of them were gonna go get some dinner and bring some back.
“Will?” Mike said knocking on the guest room door, “I’m gonna come in okay?”
“Okay” he called from the other side of the door
“Can I sit?” Mike asked, pointing to the second twin bed, next to Wills.
“Sure”
Mike took a breath of relief, “Okay, I want to talk about last halloween. And before you say anything I know I made the choice to not talk about it. And that’s my fault. But I’m sorry. I really am. I was just scared of what people would think of me. I said stupid shit and I should’ve been worried about you. You were brave and took an insane risk, and if I’m being honest. I loved that kiss. I think about it a lot, well all the time. And that night. I would’ve done that night completely differently if I could. And I’m just really sorry Will.”
And Will laughed. A laugh of relief and Mike laughed with him.
“Thanks Mike, and I’m sorry too. I was kind of a jerk. I know facing your feelings is really hard. Shit it took me like 2 years, and I just put so much pressure on you. And that was super unfair.”
“Yeah we were both kind of stupid that night huh?”
“I guess we do make each other crazy”
“Yeah we do.” Mike smiled at him
“So you loved that kiss?” Will teased, “Want to do it again?”
“I- I uh yes” Mike laughed awkwardly as he moved over to sit next to Will, “Is this okay?” He asked, placing a hand on Wills cheek
“Yes” Will smiled brightly as he put a hand on Mikes waist and leaned in a little
“Are you sure about this Mike? I want to make sure you’re okay with this”
“More than okay” He smiled and closed the gap between them.
“Happy Halloween Mike” Will whispered as he put his forehead against Mikes
“Wow both our ‘first’ kisses with each other on Halloween”
“Yeah, I guess it’s kinda our holiday hm” Will laughed
“I guess so”

It’s Nice to Have a Friend
Pairing: Steve Harrington x platonic!Henderson!reader, Jonathan Byers x reader (mentioned)
Prompt: After Jonathan had abandoned you so he could go god-knows-where with Nancy, you found comfort in the boy who had also been ditched and a beautiful friendship began to bloom.
Warnings: this is some nice comforting fluff, maybe a tiny bit of angst, some language, pretty chill
A/N: So this is a sort of deleted scene that I couldn’t fit into the Stranger Things rewrite, but I felt like it was still important to the character development with the reader and Steve, so I’m deciding to post it separately. You don’t need to read the whole rewrite in order to understand the plot (it’s based in season 2, so if you haven’t watched it then there will be some spoilers), but I would appreciate it a lot if you did read my rewrite! As always, requests and tag lists and my inbox are all open!

“Y/N, hey!” a voice shouted to your right, prompting you to turn your head and look at who was speaking.
Steve rushed over to you, his backpack hanging on one shoulder and a couple of crinkled papers held in his hand.
You furrowed your brows slightly in confusion, stopping at the side of the hallway and waiting for him to catch up. “Hey, Steve,” you drawled out, slightly confused by his presence.
Steve had sat at the bleachers with you that day after both of you had been ditched. Steve was ditched by Nancy and you by Jonathan, both of whom were now attached at the hip.
It was nice to talk to Steve about everything that was going on and, frankly, it was nice just to have someone there. You two seemed to have more in common than you once thought, and though some of that common ground was the fact that you both were abandoned by the person you loved, it was still something.
However, you thought that lunch was it. It was surprising that Steve Harrington, the former King of Hawkins himself, wanted to spend time with you.
"What’s your next class?” he asked, nervously shifting from one foot to the next.
“It’s, uh, English. Why?” You tugged on the strap of your backpack.
“I was wondering if you maybe wanted to help me with something?”
A look of hesitation washed across your face for a moment. “I don’t know, Steve. I really can’t miss class-”
“Please? I just need help on this essay for my college applications and I have no one else woh can help me. I just... Please?”
You let out a sigh, glancing around as you mulled it over in your mind. “I... I guess. Should we just go to the library and rent out a study room?”
He let out a sigh of relief, all of the tension leaving his shoulders. “Thank you so much. And I already did.”
“Oh, so you were planning on me saying yes?” You squinted at him and tilted your head.
Panic crossed over his features. “No-no, I didn’t mean it like that-”
“Steve, I’m kidding. Chill out.”
He let out a chuckle, nodding as the two of you began to walk to the library. His actions were clearly fueled by anxiety, with his shifting gaze and his hands constantly going in and out of his pockets.
“Why are you so nervous around me?” you asked, glancing up at him as the two of you stepped through the entryway to the library.
“What do you mean?” he scoffed. “I’m not nervous.”
You arched an eyebrow at his response, falling behind his step so he could lead you to the study room he reserved. “You’re fidgeting and you won’t look me in the eye. You weren’t acting like this earlier at lunch.”
He pushed the door open and waited for you to step inside before he also entered the room, closing the door behind him. A small sigh left his lips as he set the papers down on the table. “I don’t know, maybe... I guess I’m just not used to spending time with anyone other than Nancy. Especially when other people see me.”
You gave him a sympathetic look and nodded, sitting down at one of the chairs and taking the papers in your hand. “Well, there’s no need to be nervous around me. You know that. I’m not exactly some cool person that you have to act perfect around.”
Once again, he scoffed. “You are a cool person.”
You let out a laugh, shaking your head as you searched in your bag for a pen. “Come on, Steve. I’m already helping you with your essay, you don’t need to butter me up.”
He sat in the chair next to you. “But you are cool. You don’t give a fuck what people think about you, and I think that’s pretty damn cool.”
You sighed, beginning to scribble a few notes on the paper. “If only you knew, Steve.”
“What do you mean?”
“God, I care so much about what people think about me all the time. It’s exhausting.”
He was silent for a moment, watching you mark the paper as he thought. “Do you care about what other people think about you, or do you care what Jonathan thinks about you?”
You were about to argue with him, but once you realized that he was right, your mouth shut. Instead, you lifted your pen from the paper. “Did someone else edit this already? There’s pen all over it.”
He stiffened awkwardly in his chair, his lips pursing into a fine line. “Nancy was, uh... She was helping me out with it. Until, ya know, everything happened.”
You nodded slowly, slipping the cap on the pen before setting it down on the table. “But why are you having me check the draft that Nancy already checked?”
He let out a sigh, a hand combing through his hair as he stared at all of the markings on the paper. “I think Nancy wasn’t being honest with me about it. I thought that you would be more blunt about what you think about it.”
You searched his expression, leaning back in your chair and taking the papers in your hands. “You want me to be honest about it?”
He gave you a nod. “Please.”
A heavy breath fell past your lips. “Steve, it’s awful.”
His eyebrows shot up in surprise. “Geez, at least sugarcoat it a little!”
“You told me you wanted me to be honest!”
His mouth opened so he could retaliate, but no words came out. Instead, he huffed and crossed his arms over his chest. “What-What’s wrong with it?”
“It... It just seems very disingenuous. Shallow.”
“What’s shallow about it?”
“You wrote about a basketball game for one of your biggest struggles that you’ve overcome.”
“And then I said it was like how my Grandpa fought in the war! That’s genuine and powerful!”
You stared at him for a moment, completely at a loss for words. “At least you’re pretty, Steve.”
“Okay, fine. What should I have done instead?”
“Steve, we’ve fought literal monsters. There has to be more to talk about than a basketball game.”
“But I can’t write about that. Can you imagine how crazy they’ll think I am?”
“That’s just an example. We’ve gone through a lot this past year. There has to be something from that time that you can write about.”
He nodded, silently thinking over what had happened in the past 12 months. “Do you think that leaving your bad friends and becoming a better person is a good example of overcoming a struggle?”
You gave him a kind smile. “Absolutely.” You crumpled up the papers you had in your hands and tossed them in the trash can before pulling out a few clean pieces of looseleaf paper and sliding them over to him. “Let’s get an outline going. What made you realize that you should change?”
He thought for a moment, a sad look settling on his features. “Last year. I uh... I did something really mean to Nancy.”
Your head tilted in confusion. “What do you mean? What happened?”
He leaned back in his chair, his eyes flashing from left to right as if he was reading from a script, when in reality he was trying to find the right words to say. “After Nancy had ditched me for Jonathan, Tommy and Carol thought that it would be funny if I spray painted ‘Nancy the slut Wheeler’ on the marquee sign at the theater. So I did it.” He risked a glance over at you, noticing the look of disappointment on your face that you failed to disguise. “Nancy and Jonathan saw it, and it escalated.”
His words slowly sank in, and your eyes widened in realization after a few moments of silence. “That’s why you were all beat up? Because Jonathan fought you?”
Steve nodded, his lips pursing closed as he didn’t know what else to say.
“Well, I can’t say you didn’t deserve it.” Again, he nodded. You reached out and placed a hand on his shoulder. “But I can say that you’ve gotten a lot better. And ditching Tommy and Carol definitely helped a lot.”
“So should I write about that?”
It was your turn to nod, a kind smile on your face. “Absolutely. Should we get started?”
He mirrored your smile, leaning forward and pulling a pencil from his backpack. “Let’s do it.”

(I feel I’m) In The Mood Also on AO3
Steve goes into a corn maze to find Billy, they get high, they hook up.
Steve felt like shit. Nancy had called him bullshit and broke up with him, out of nowhere. Steve didn’t get what he had done wrong. They were supposed to go to Tina’s halloween party together tomorrow, but now he didn’t want to go anymore. He couldn’t show up without a date, right? No, he couldn’t. He needed to clear his head. Going for a drive would help.
Steve got into his car, pushed his Foreigner tape into the player and turned up the volume. I Want to Know What Love is started playing. Steve turned it up even more. He drove with the windows open, not really knowing where he was going. He kept pushing the pedal, singing along to the music. he was probably going too fast, but he didn’t care. it was late and the roads were basically empty. Suddenly Steve noticed a car parked further ahead, nearly in the corn. He slowed down when he got closer to the car. It had Californian plates. Inside there was a red headed girl sitting in the passenger seat, looking upset. Steve had never seen the car or this girl before. Tourists maybe? Steve parked his car behind the Californian car and got out. He softly knocked on the passenger side window. “Are you okay?” he asked the girl. She didn’t hear him, obviously. She opened the window a bit and gave him a mean stare, not saying anything. “I said are you okay?” Steve repeated. The girl rolled her eyes. “I’m waiting for my step brother. Leave me alone.” Steve could see she was shivering. “Is your brother in the maze? How long have you been sitting here?” Steve asked. The girl shrugged. “A while. My step brother is an asshole, he won’t be back before he thinks I’ve learned my lesson or something dumb like that.” Steve felt sorry for the girl. “Do you want me to go look for him?” he offered. The girl looked away. “Don’t bother.” she mumbled. Steve decided to do it anyway. He went back to his car and grabbed his flashlight. He then noticed his bat. Should he take it? Maybe the girls brother was still out there because he was being chased by some upside down shit. Maybe the guy was just an asshole like the girl had said. Steve grabbed the bat. Before going into the maze he walked up to the girl one more time. “What’s your brother’s name?” He asked her. “Billy.”
Steve turned on the flashlight and stepped into the maze. It really was dark in there, how could that guy -Billy- see anything? “Billy? are you here?” he called out. No reply. Also no creepy rustling in the corn. Steve took it as a win. He got to the first split and decided to go left. How big was this maze even? Steve took a right turn the next. He called out for Billy again but no reply. Maybe the guy could hear him but just decided to not respond. It was probably kinda creepy to be in a maze and then hear a stranger shout out your name. Stupid. “Billy, your sister sent me!” Steve tried. Still no response. He kept walking through the maze for what felt like hours. The maze seemed really big. Or maybe he had just passed the same spots multiple times already, but everything looked the same so Steve had no idea. What if he couldn’t find his way out of the maze? What if he couldn’t find his way out of the maze and there was a demogorgon in the maze? Steve shivered. He came to a dead end with a pile of corn in the middle. Someone was laying in the pile. “Billy?” Steve tried. The guy sat up. “Who the fuck are you and why do you keep calling for me?” He groaned. Steve pointed the flashlight at him. Billy was tan, blonde curls and bright eyes. He was dressed in a leather jacket and tight jeans. Steve had to admit, the boy looked good. “Don’t fucking shine that at me.” Billy growled. He got up from the corn pile and slapped the flashlight out of Steve’s hands. it turned off when it hit the ground. “Dude, I needed that! And your sister is waiting for you. She seems kinda cold. You should head back.” Billy snickered. “The little bitch couldn’t even come out and get me herself, huh? And she isn’t my sister.” Billy pulled a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and lit one. He looked at the bat in Steve’s hand. “So, you’re saying my sister asked you to look for me and you decided to bring that creepy ass bat? Wow, she must have said some really nasty shit about me.” Steve scratched the back of his head. “Not really, just eh, precaution.” He picked up the flashlight and tried to turn it on, but it was dead. Neither of them said anything for a while, the only sound being the wind softly blowing through the corn.
“Well, you found me, you can now leave me alone and tell that shitbird that I’m not coming until I feel like it.” Billy said to Steve. Steve shook his head. “I didn’t go in here for that. At least give me your keys so your sister can turn on the heat.” Billy cackled loudly. “I’m not giving you my keys. And my STEP sister is not getting them either. She will just drive off. Hell, maybe you will kick her out and drive off in my car. I don’t even know who the hell you are.” Steve figured that was fair. Billy didn’t know him after all. “I’m Steve Harrington.” he said. Billy didn’t reply, just sat down in the pile of corn again. “I’m not going anywhere, Harrington. And you’re going back to wherever the hell you came from. Leave me alone.” Steve shook his head and sat down next to Billy in the pile. “What are you doing out here anyway?” he asked him. “None of your business.” Steve nodded. “Alright. Well I’m out here because I went for a drive. To clear my head, you know? I got dumped.” He could hear billy huff. “That sucks.” he said. Steve hummed. They sat in silence for a bit again. “I had to clear my head too. Maxine, my step sister, is driving me crazy. She keeps blaming moving to this shit town on me.” Billy softly said. it was now Steve’s turn to say that sucks, and Billy’s to hum. “So Harrington, do you smoke?” Steve nodded. “Yea but I left my cigs in my car.” Billy laughed at him. “Not what I meant. I got the good shit, from California.” Oh, Billy had meant weed. “How good is it?” Steve asked with a grin.
Billy had rolled the joint while Steve had held up a lighter so he could see what he was doing. The joint didn’t look so bad and it smelled great when Billy lit it. Steve hadn’t smoked in a while, and the last time he did the quality wasn’t even that great. he was excited to try Billy’s Californian weed. Steve coughed after the first drag. Billy laughed at him. Steve took another drag, and it felt less irritating on his throat this time. He passed the joint back to Billy, who took a drag like it was nothing. Billy was going to have a tough time finding weed this good here in Hawkins. “I appreciate you sharing the good weed with me. You’re not gonna find anything this good around here.” Steve said. Billy passed him the joint. “Well, guess you owe me then.” “Owe you what? good weed? Because I just said we don’t have that around here. He passed the joint back to Billy again. “You just owe me, Steve. I don’t care what.”
They finished the joint in what felt like minutes. Steve’s toes were getting a bit cold though. How long had they been sitting here? “Maybe we should head back? Maxine is waiting.” Steve tried. Billy groaned. “Don’t ruin it now, pretty boy.” he said. Pretty boy? Steve sighed. “It’s cold out here, you know.” A chuckle from Billy. “Yea, it fucking is. California was better.” Steve stood up and held his hand out for Billy. “Come on then, let’s go.” Billy grabbed Steve’s hand but then pulled him down. Steve planted his hand above Billy’s shoulder just in time, before crushing him. “You should plant your feet.” He grinned. Steve huffed. “I’m high as fuck, let me be.” Billy licked his lips and stared up at Steve, not letting go of his hand yet. “Me too. And I have a good idea.” He let go of Steve’s hand and Steve rolled sideways to lay next to Billy. “Is it actually a good idea?” Steve asked. Billy nodded and rolled on his side to look at Steve again. “I know a way that will get you warm, AND get you over your ex. Two bird, one stone!” Steve raised a brow at Billy. Was Billy going to summon Nancy and set her on fire to keep them warm or something? Steve laughed at his own thought. “What’s funny?” Billy asked, seeming slightly offended. Steve shook his head. “I just imagined you setting my ex on fire.” Billy started laughing too, what triggered Steve and made him laugh even louder. They laughed so hard they actually had to catch their breath after they quieted down.
“So what’s the plan?” Steve asked. Billy moved his lips close to Steve’s ear. “We could fuck.” He whispered. He softly bit Steve’s earlobe after. Steve nervously giggled. Billy had to be fucking with him, right? “You’re playing a dangerous game, Billy.” Steve warned him. Billy looked him in the eye. “Why?” he asked. Steve couldn’t read his expression. “Because Hawkins is a small town with close minded people.” Billy swallowed. “Are you close minded, Steve?” Steve shook his head. “I’m not, but you can’t just ask boys if they want to have sex with you, Billy!” Billy nibbled Steve’s earlobe again, and Steve had to admit he quite liked that feeling. He liked Billy being close to him. “I didn’t just ask any boy tho, I’m asking you, pretty boy. Do you want to fuck me?” Steve needed a second to think about it. “Please, Steve.” Billy moaned in his ear. Steve’s dick kicked with interest. “You might have to convince me.” Steve said. If Billy was joking -which Steve didn’t think he was anymore- this was the moment he could admit it. But Billy didn’t laugh or make fun of him. Billy didn’t say he was just fucking around. Billy sat down on top of Steve and bent down to kiss him.
The kiss felt like fire. Billy was immediately all tongue and teeth and he even moaned. Steve had never been kissed that dirty before. Billy softly bit Steve’s lip and pulled at it before letting go. “Have you done this with a guy before?” he asked Steve. Steve shook his head. “I’ve been with plenty of girls though, I will figure it out.” He then winked at Billy. Billy pressed his hips against Steve’s and rolled them, pulling a moan out of both of them. “Have you?” Steve asked while putting his hands on Billy’s hips and grinding up against him. Billy bent over to whisper in Steve’s ear again. “Yea, I have. I just love having a cock up my ass, Steve. So get on with it and unbuckle your belt.” Billy stood up and Steve let out a little whine. He watched Billy pulling down his own jeans. The boy had a fine ass. Steve grabbed Billy’s sleeve and pulled him down to his knees. “Are you a bit kinky, Harrington?” Billy asked while laying his head on his arms and pushing his ass up in the air. Steve swallowed. “I- I don’t know.” He started unbuckling his belt. Billy had his dick out, it was only fair if Steve undressed right now too, right? “I want you to pull your belt out completely, and then fold it in half.” Billy told him. “And then you’re gonna spank me, alright Stevie?” Steve’s cock felt impossibly hard. God, he wanted to spank Billy. He pulled his Belt out of the loops and then pulled his jeans down so he could free his own cock. He stroked it a few times before folding his belt. “Say please, Billy.” He said. Billy moaned loudly at that. “Yea, just like that baby. Please hit me!” Steve did as Billy asked and let the cool leather hit Billy’s warm skin. The sound of it was loud. Billy’s moan was too. “Please, Steve, again.” Billy begged. He sounded so needy. How could Steve say no to him? He swung the belt again, and he could see Billy’s ass jiggle a bit after impact. It was too dark to see if his ass was getting red though. Steve didn’t know why, but he hoped so. “Again, please.” Billy sounded like he was crying. Steve hit him one more time, as hard as he could. Billy cried out. Steve got on his knees behind Billy and bent over him. “Do you like that?” he whispered in Billy’s ear. Billy sniffed. Steve was sure the boy was crying now. Shit, did he go too far? “Yes. please give me more. I want your cock.” Billy whined. Steve felt a bit confused. Did Billy get off on pain? Steve didn’t just want to hurt the boy. He put his hands on Billy’s asscheeks and Billy hissed at that. “Sorry, I know my fingers are cold.” Steve sheepishly said. “It’s okay.” Billy mumbled. Steve spread Billy’s cheeks and licked a stripe between them without warning. Billy jolted, crying out again. “Fuck Steve! Fuck fuck fuck!” Steve went back in and messily licked Billy’s hole again. Billy pressed his ass back against Steve’s face. Seemed like pain wasn’t the only thing that got Billy off, luckily. “My god Steve you’re so good at this. Don’t stop, please!” Billy babbled. Steve did as requested and kept eating Billy’s ass. He had done it once before with a girl because she asked him too, Steve had figured boys would like it too, and he had been right. Billy’s thighs started shaking and his moans got higher and breathier. “Fuck fuck fuck, Steve I’m gonna-“ Billy didn’t finish his sentence and let out an obscene moan instead while pressing his ass even harder against Steve’s face. Billy was coming. Steve hadn’t even touched his dick. And speaking of dick touching, Steve was in desperate need of touch too. He sat up and wiped his mouth. “I’m close too.” he said while gripping the base of his dick tightly. Billy rolled over so he could look at Steve. “Fuck, just cum on my face.” he said while trying to pull Steve closer. Steve moaned. “Are you serious?” he asked. Billy nodded. “Please please please, Stevie please.” And Steve couldn’t say no to that. He moved closer to billy and started rubbing his dick. “You’re so fucking huge.” Billy said. “Let me have a taste, please?” Steve nodded. He carefully slid his dick between Billy’s lips and moaned at the warmth. it felt really nice. Billy moaned around Steve’s dick and started bobbing his head. Steve was so close already. “Fuck Billy you’re so hot you know that?” he told the boy. He grabbed him by the hair and started guiding him. Billy followed Steve’s rhythm. Steve carefully tried going deeper and Billy didn’t resist. He just seemed to open his mouth even wider. Steve could see drool sliding down Billy’s chin. It should be gross, but instead it turned Steve on. “You like choking on my dick, don’t you?” Steve hummed. Billy moaned around Steve’s dick in response. Steve took it as a yes. Steve thrusted into Billy’s mouth a few times and then pulled out. “Fuck I’m gonna cum.” He grunted. Billy opened his mouth wide and closed his eyes, ready to receive. Steve stroked himself two more times before shooting his load all over Billy’s face. Some got into his mouth, some stuck to his lashes and some dripped down his chin onto his chest and jacket. Steve moaned at the sight. he flopped down next to Billy and rubbed his face. “Fuck, that was amazing.” he smiled. He heard Billy snicker next to him. “It sure was, pretty boy. But my step sister is waiting for me in my car and I have nothing to wipe my face with.” Billy replied. Fuck, Steve had totally forgotten about that. How long had they been here?
They walked back in silence. Steve had offered Billy his sweater to wipe his face. He still looked like a mess after. Steve almost said something about it a few times but then decided not to. Billy had been whiny and needy, but as soon as it was over he was back to the guy that told Steve to fuck off and leave him alone. Steve didn’t want to risk getting punched in the face or something.
When they exited the maze Billy went straight to his car, not saying anything to Steve. Steve gave him a little wave even though the other boy wasn’t looking at him anymore. Steve got into his car too and drove home.
__
“Jesus christ, Billy, what took you so long!?” Max shouted when Billy got into the car. “Does it matter?” Billy asked. Max studied him closer, from the way his lashes clumped together to the stains on his knees. “You’re a whore.” She said, face scrunched up in disgust. “First day here and you already fucked the first guy you came across.” Billy turned towards her. “You shut the fuck up, Maxine.” He hissed. Max pulled back. “Don’t get so close to me with your fucking dick breath!” She screamed. Billy groaned and started the car. “Shitbird.” “Slut.”

prompt: pre-Harringrove. Steve inadvertently sees how Neil treats Billy after a bb game or dropping off Max or something. Billy thinks Steve is going to use info against him. Steve gains his trust somehow.
Warnings for parental abuse of minors and for homophobic language (specifically the f-slur).
It’s the first game Steve’s been cleared to play in since that night and he’s fucking exhausted. He’s out of shape from the practices he’s missed, and he still can’t breathe quite right, like his nose healed wrong or something.
It was obvious to anyone watching, too. He played like shit and Billy didn’t pick up the slack like Steve thought he would. No. He just kept shooting grimaces at Steve, nervous glances at the stands, a feral narrowing of his eyes at anyone who came near him, teammates and opposition alike.
Destroying Steve’s face and Hawkin’s chances to go to the championships, all in a few weeks. Billy was something, alright.
Steve rested his beat-up, tired frame against the brick outside the gym, tucked into the same alleyway where he stood when Nancy made clear, for the second time in 24 hours, that she didn’t love him.
He tries to catch his breath, pours the remnants of his water bottle over his face, swipes his hands over his eyes. Breathe in. Breathe out.
There’s footsteps outside of Steve’s alcove, voices too. The rest of the team must be done in the locker room. It doesn’t matter- whoever is walking by will breeze right past him in the dark.
But it’s not the rest of the team, there’s only one voice, only two sets of feet walking by.
“You really are pathetic, you know that?” Steve can see the speaker, a mustached man, but not much else. Whoever is on the receiving end of this comment doesn’t respond, making it impossible for Steve to guess which of his teammates is getting chewed out.
“Honestly. You were shit at baseball, now you’re shit at basketball. Your sister can play basketball. Gary’s kid from back home could play basketball and his kid was a fucking faggot. You think that reflects well on me? On our family?”
The second voice speaks up. “Not my sister.”
Billy.
There’s the sickening sound of a mass of a body hitting brick, the impact of a skull soon after.
“That’s what you’re choosing to correct me on? Don’t tell me my son is a faggot too.”
Steve’s entire body may still hurt from Billy’s fists, but it’s taking every ounce of his will to not put a stop to what he’s overhearing, to not shove this man away from his son.
“No, sir.” Billy’s voice is so quiet, so- so broken, that Steve feels stunned. There’s no bravado, no confidence. There’s just fear, numbness to what’s occurring, an indication that this has happened before and it will happen again.
“So I raised a faggot and a liar.” There’s one more blow, a kick maybe.
“You can walk home. I’m driving Susan and Maxine now.” A pause. “And the door will be locked by the time you get back.”
Billy’s father walks away. After a few moments of sickening silence, there’s a gasp of breath that morphs into a sob.
It occurs to Steve that he should do something. Leave so that Billy can save face. Run to Billy to comfort him.
Call Hopper so that this never happens again.
But before Steve can make the choice, Billy’s body drags itself into Steve’s alley.
With his head down, tucked to his chest, Billy takes a few more gasping breaths. It dawns on Steve that Billy’s crying.
“Um,” Steve clears his throat.
Billy’s head whips up, causing him to wince in pain, and then his face drains of blood. He rushes to stand.
“Harrington. What the fuck are you doing here?”
Hiding in an alley to catch my breath because I think you’ve permanently destroyed my nose.
“Just. Decompressing?”
Fury overtakes Billy’s face, then fear. It looks so foreign on him, so unlike Billy Hargrove, that Steve wants to throw up. “Don’t you dare tell anyone, Harrington. Don’t you fucking dare.”
Steve’s taken aback. “Wha-”
“I swear, Harrington.” Billy’s closer now, getting in Steve’s face. “You tell anyone what just happened, what you saw, what you-” he grimaces. “-heard. I’ll make breaking a plate over your head feel like a picnic.”
Steve just blinks at him. He doesn’t feel threatened, just concerned. Just desperate to help, to fix this. “Why would I tell anyone?”
Billy laughs, even though Steve can tell it’s hurting his head to do so. “Don’t play dumb. You have every reason to hate me. Whatever petty revenge plot is going through your head, just forget about it.”
Steve must look unconvinced because the cruel laugh slips from Billy’s face, something resembling desperation replacing it. “Please, Steve.”
This use of his name jolts him from his silence. “I’m not going to. I- I know what that’s like, shitty fathers. I wouldn’t… I wouldn’t do that.”
Billy still looks wary.
“Last year. Jonathan Byers beat the shit out of me. When my dad saw, he… he was really upset. With me, though, not with Jonathan. Called me a pussy, a… a fag for getting beat by someone like Byers. He didn’t give a fuck that I was hurt.”
Billy raises an eyebrow, though Steve can’t decipher it’s meaning, so he presses on. “So, there. Now you know some shitty thing that my dad did to me. And that I got the shit beat out of me by Jonathan of all people. Now I can’t tell anyone about what just happened to you, cause you can double back, yeah?”
Finally, Billy looks up at him, making eye contact for the first time since they’ve been talking. He gives a sad smile. “Sure, pretty boy. But at least when your dad said it, it wasn’t true.”
Confusion runs through Steve, then realization. Billy is-
Oh.
Steve thinks about the way Billy spoke to him in the showers, the antagonistic way he’d goad on him in basketball. Am I dreaming, or is that you Harrington?
He thinks about sleepovers with Tommy, limbs tangling a little too close, fingers and thighs brushing when they shouldn’t.
He thinks about Billy’s eyes, so blue, like an ocean he’s never seen. He thinks about how seeing pain in those eyes made him hurt too. Yeah, it’s me. Don’t cream your pants.
“Oh, I don’t know about that, Hargrove.”
Billy looks up at him, bewildered.
“Come on, I’ll drive you home. We can stop for a burger, if you want. That game was fuckin’ brutal.”
Billy laughs and Steve thinks he sees Billy’s real smile for the first time. “Yeah. Fuckin’ brutal.”

ERIC: I don’t know if you’re tired of answering questions like these, but since it’s not super common in K-pop to have co-ed groups, let alone ones with such a...
JULIET: Like... an unbalanced ratio between male and female members?
ERIC: Yeah! So people must be super curious about how your dynamics work. Like, how did you join the group? Or if it’s difficult living with eight boys?
JULIET: Honestly, not really. They’ve all just been incredibly sweet to me since the first day we met, and we all respect one another’s boundaries well. I also get my own room at our dorm, so that makes it even easier to maintain privacy.
ERIC: What do you guys like doing when you have spare time?
JULIET: Not the mafia game.
ERIC: That’s oddly specific and very resolute. Why not?
JULIET: It’s kinda... [laughs] banned from our dorm?
ERIC: [laughs] Why? What happened?
JULIET: The thing is, all nine of us are really competitive. So uh... some of us weren’t sleeping, some of us were about to fight the others, our managers got wind of this and they were like, “You guys are not allowed to play mafia without supervision!” [laughs]
ERIC: What about in the beginning? Like, when you first debuted? What was that like?
JULIET: Ooh, yeah, that’s a good question. I hate to be a Negative Nancy, but I also don’t want to... hide what was going on when I debuted with the boys, because at the end of the day, it’s something that’s happened to me and... contributed to who I am today, y’know?
ERIC: Yeah, yeah. Go ahead, feel free to share whatever you’re comfortable with.
JULIET: Thanks. So... the attention was pretty overwhelming because as I mentioned, I was on MIXNINE, so people who watched it kinda expected me to debut in a girl group. So when they, or just the public in general, found out that I was in the same group as eight boys and we would be living together... things got pretty tough because there were just a lot of accusations thrown around. Like, what I might’ve done to debut with a boy group, or how my relationships with my members are... all that kinda stuff. It really took a toll on me.
ERIC: Right, totally understandable.
JULIET: Like, don’t get me wrong, I understand the shock people probably felt, but seeing all the things said about me that weren’t true... just really sucked. And for a few months there was this feeling of, “Oh, people are right. What am I doing here in this group? Why should I be here when all I’m doing is dragging them down? Would people even like me, or would they just ignore me and pretend I wasn’t a member?” Those kinda things... Of course, things got better with each comeback, and I’m so grateful that our fans... you know... like me [laughs] instead of being like, “Leave the group! You don’t belong here!” Yeah...
ERIC: How did you deal with that?
JULIET: It just takes time, I guess. Like eventually, I learnt to just ignore the harmful comments. But also, a few months after our debut, I—I don’t remember if I was crying—but I was in a video call with my parents, basically just telling them what people were saying about me and how undeserving I felt, and my dad looked me straight in the eye and said to me, “If they don’t know you personally, don’t take it personally.” And since then, I try to tell myself that when I find myself dwelling on that kinda stuff.
ERIC: Your dad’s very wise.
JULIET: That’s where I get it from! [BOTH laugh]
ERIC: Did your members know you were going to be added into the lineup, or was it very last minute?
JULIET: I wouldn’t say it was last minute—
ERIC: Ah, okay.
JULIET: —our CEO asked to see me one day, and he told me he’s been monitoring my performances both in training and on MIXNINE, and said he thought I had potential and that I’d mesh well with the boys, so he asked me if I wanted to be in the group with them.
ERIC: And you said yes.
JULIET: Yes, but—well, at that moment, I told him I needed some time to think, and the first thing I did was go to Hongjoong because I knew they already planned for him to be the leader. And I was just like, “Hey... this just happened and I just wanted to let you know, and maybe ask if the others are okay with me joining before I tell the CEO of my final decision.”
ERIC: What did he say?
JULIET: He said something along the lines of, “Oh, we all know because the company already approached us about this, and we all have no problem with it. So it’s up to you if you want to join the group.”
ERIC: You don’t have to answer this if you don’t want to, but what if they didn’t know about it beforehand, and they were like, “Uh... actually we’re not really on board with this.” Hypothetically, since you said you wanted to make sure everyone was okay with the idea?
JULIET: Yes, definitely. We were friends before the lineup was decided, but of course, it’s one thing being trainees together, and another thing debuting and being in the same group. If they weren’t okay with it, then I would’ve said no and maybe waited until our company debuts a girl group or decides to debut me as a soloist.
ERIC: Oh, you would’ve said no?
JULIET: Yeah... because it wasn’t like I didn’t have a choice. I was given the choice of whether I wanted to join the lineup or not, and if my members weren’t comfortable with it, then I wouldn’t have insisted on doing it anyways if I knew it made them feel that way. So... yeah, if they made it clear that they weren’t on board, I would’ve respected that and told the company that I’ll wait another few years. No questions asked.
ERIC: That’s a very considerate way of thinking. Thank you for sharing that.
JULIET: Aw, it’s okay. But I think that applies to basically everything, honestly. Like, if someone tells you, “Please don’t do this, it makes me uncomfortable.” Then just... don’t do it, y’know? Like, be respectful.
ERIC: Definitely. I’m assuming you get along well with your members?
JULIET: Absolutely! There’s no doubt about it. As I said earlier, they’ve been nothing but kind to me since the very beginning, and at the end of the day we’re really like a family!
ERIC: You mentioned earlier that if you didn’t debut with ATEEZ, you probably would’ve debuted in a girl group or as a soloist. Was any of that confirmed?
JULIET: Uh... not the girl group, because when I was training with my members, I was still the only female trainee there, and there was no telling if any other girls would be joining the company. But... uh, yeah, there were plans for me as a soloist if I chose to not join ATEEZ’s lineup, but that would probably take place a few years later.
ERIC: If you’re given a second chance to pick, would your decision be any different?
JULIET: No, definitely not. Knowing that I now share this strong bond with my members, and that I’ve met so many incredible ATINY from being a member of ATEEZ... I wouldn’t give that up for the world. So if someone came to me and was like, “Hey, you can pick again: soloist or stay with ATEEZ?”... I’d pick ATEEZ in a heartbeat.
Tumblr media
ERIC: So we actually have some questions from fans—
JULIET: Let’s hear ‘em.
ERIC: This one’s from Twitter. “What do you do when you feel sad? Do you have any tips for dealing with those feelings?” We’re starting off with the deep questions!
JULIET: Hm... honestly, my tip is... let yourself be sad. I used to beat myself up a lot for being upset, because sometimes it almost felt like I don’t deserve to complain or to be sad, and that usually just sends me down an even deeper downwards spiral.
ERIC: Right.
JULIET: So... it’s okay to not be okay. And it’s okay to take as much time as you need to process and heal from what’s troubling you. I find that it really helped me when I... validated my emotions, especially the negative ones, even if it means I’ll keep being miserable for a certain period of time. Because when I’m finally ready to move on, I’ll know that it’s because I’m genuinely ready, and not because I was forcing myself to accept something I may not be mentally ready to move on from. And that makes the healing process easier because there’s less of that... internal struggle. So... to summarise, take your time, you deserve to heal at your own pace, and I promise the world will wait for you.
ERIC: Wow... that was incredible. I really like that, you know, like the part about validating yourself even if what you’re feeling is negative. And also the last line—“the world will wait for you”. That’s so... uplifting. I think we can all take something from that.
JULIET: I hope so. And to everyone out there, you’re not alone. It can feel like you are sometimes, but you are loved and supported, and I hope you’ll remember that wherever you go.
ERIC: Second question from fans: “What do you struggle with most as an idol?” Guys—these questions are so serious!
JULIET: These questions will probably keep me up tonight because I’ll just be thinking about them nonstop. But to answer the question, probably the constant comparison.
ERIC: Ah, right.
JULIET: It’s not even the kind where people compare me to other people. Like... I kinda got used to that, which sounds kinda sad but I’m trying to not make it a sad thing? [laughs] I struggle more with it internally, like I compare myself a lot to other people, and sometimes it can... get to an unhealthy point really quickly. In this industry, it’s kinda hard to not... compare yourself to other idols, because... well, I don’t want to speak for anyone—
ERIC: Of course.
JULIET: —but from my own experience, it was kinda... ingrained that there will always be someone better, someone more talented than you are who is ready to take your place at any time. And I guess it messes with me a little? Because it will feel like I have this countdown above my head, and it makes me obsessively compare myself to other people when I shouldn’t be doing that and instead focus more on, just like, doing my own thing. So it’s definitely still a learning process for me, to let go of that mindset and achieve a sense of self-acceptance. But like I said in response to the last question, it takes time, and I’m going at my own pace in figuring that out.
ERIC: It all comes full circle.
JULIET: [laughs] Exactly.
ERIC: Last question: “What do you want for yourself? What are your goals as an idol?”
JULIET: Hm, for the group... honestly... I just hope that we can continue doing our thing, you know?
ERIC: Yeah, I get that.
JULIET: Like... I think we have a really good thing going on right now, and I don’t mean that in terms of just commercial success, but I think we’re at a place where we’re trying out different styles of music and just... yeah, doing our own thing. So I just wish all nine of us, as well as our fans, happiness and health as we go down this journey together.
ERIC: What about yourself? Like, individually?
JULIET: Well, also health and happiness, I hope! [laughs] But also, and I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately because I’m an over-thinker like that—
ERIC: Same! I overthink everything!
JULIET: I know! Like, my brain won’t stop going sometimes, and my members have to be like, “Okay, take a step back, deep breaths, let’s go through this together.” But going back to the question, I want to—what’s the word... preserve? Yeah, preserve my morality.
ERIC: Oh, wow. Do you want to elaborate on that?
JULIET: Yeah! Like... it can be easy to lose myself especially in this line of work. Sometimes, I find myself desensitised to certain things, and that’s when I have to just... take a step back and reevaluate myself. So, yeah... I hope that I can always hold myself accountable; not take things for granted; remind myself of my morals and passions, stuff like that. Just... staying true to myself and extending compassion everywhere I go.
ERIC: That was very well put.
JULIET: What can I say? I’m an intellectual. [holds up peace sign; BOTH laugh]
ERIC: I love how you go from, just, this serene, eloquent person to—
JULIET: Chaos? [laughs]
ERIC: Yeah, but I like that! What do the kids say, I love that for you?
JULIET: Yes! Like, “I love that for you, sweetie!” You know, gotta have the best of both worlds. Hannah Montana reference there for the OGs.
Tumblr media
ERIC: So, we also have some lightning round questions.
JULIET: Ooh, that’s fun!
ERIC: But before we do that, anything you want to discuss or bring up? It can be anything.
JULIET: Uh, I can’t really think of anything at the moment. Um... oh! We’re going to be on—wait, when is this episode airing?
ERIC: [looks to STAFF] Uh... next week?
JULIET: [gasps] Oh my God, okay, forget I said anything!
ERIC: [laughs] What?! What happened just now, Juliet?
JULIET: I was about to spoil something, but I don’t know when it will be made public, so I’m not gonna get into trouble! You’re not going to catch me slipping, nope! You guys will just have to wait and see! [laughs]
ERIC: [laughs] You looked so terrified for a second.
JULIET: Yeah, this is something I can’t reveal or I’ll get into huge trouble! I almost pulled a Tom Holland.
ERIC: [laughs] Anything else you wanna add?
JULIET: Nope!
ERIC: [laughs] Okay, then let’s get on with the lightning round questions. Favourite food?
JULIET: Tim Tams. My fellow Aussies will relate, I think.
ERIC: I’ve heard they’re really good.
JULIET: Heaven on Earth. I’m not even kidding. Like, for my birthday in June our staff stacked together Tim Tams as my birthday cake.
ERIC: Wow!
JULIET: One of the best things anyone’s ever done for me, I still think about it to this day.
ERIC: Favourite ATEEZ song to perform?
JULIET: Uh... Wave! It’s just a really cute and happy song and I can’t stop smiling during and after each performance.
ERIC: Favourite K-pop group?
JULIET: ATEEZ. [BOTH laugh] Okay, aside from ATEEZ... uh... Stray Kids! Chan, Felix, if you’re watching this, I miss you guys.
ERIC: Singing or dancing?
JULIET: Both!
ERIC: Fair enough! Morning person or night owl?
JULIET: Night owl. It takes... a village to wake me up.
ERIC: [laughs] Favourite movie?
JULIET: The Devil Wears Prada. Ugh, so good!
ERIC: Coffee or tea?
JULIET: Iced coffee!
ERIC: One person you’d love to collab with?
JULIET: Eric Nam.
ERIC: Aw, really?
JULIET: Yeah! Let’s make it happen sometime!
ERIC: On it. Your fans are... blank.
JULIET: Incredible.
ERIC: Aww! And Kpop Daebak is... blank.
JULIET: Also incredible.
ERIC: And... I think that’s all I have for you today! To finish this off, I have one more question for you. Don’t think too much about it, whatever comes to mind first.
JULIET: Okay.
ERIC: Did the chicken or the egg come first?
JULIET: Egg.
ERIC: Gotcha. Well, Juliet, thanks for coming onto this show!
JULIET: Thanks for having me! This was really fun.
ERIC: It’s been a pleasure getting to know you, speak with you. Any message to our listeners all around the world? Anything you wanna say, plug, promote? Go for it.
JULIET: The Devil Wears Prada. [BOTH laugh] In all seriousness, um... ATEEZ is always here for you, and a lot of exciting stuff is coming up, we’re just getting started. Also, thank you to everyone around the world who’s listening for... listening. [laughs] And thank you for being here. I hope you’ll always remember that you bring a lot of good to the world, even if you don’t realise it. The world is not the same without you, and to everyone out there, I see you, I hear you, and I love you. Stay safe, wear a mask, wash your hands, and look out for one another. Homecoming
This is a story I’ve been planning for over a year and finally feel readyish to post it. This first chapter has been reread about ten times so it’s about time to release it. It introduces the main OC for the story, which will spend the next fifteen chapters exploring Jeff’s return to earth before Josie comes back into play.
Thank you @misssquidtracy for being my cheerleader, this would be no where near as far written if you hadn’t enjoyed it so.
I hope you enjoy chapter one, which is set between Series 2 and 3.
AO3 and FFN
First Impressions
Josie stood outside the hall and took a deep breath. You can do this, she thought, you already have the invite for the invite only event. They might be the big bosses, the people who matter, but you matter too. You just have to network. Don't sell yourself short.
She steeled herself again and swallowed. She really didn't belong here. London was a long way from the compassionate community she grew up with in Scotland. But the idea of getting stuck there and never fulfilling her dreams made her determined, despite the imposter syndrome that plagued her. She looked down at herself and tried to feel comfortable. They were her smartest clothes: a black pencil skirt, blouse with frilly collar and a fitted, thanks to Nancy's excellent seamstress skills, suit jacket. They were all high street brands which wouldn't compare to the designer suits and dresses she'd be mingling with. The only saving grace was the simple diamond chain around her neck. Worth more to Josie than anyone would know, and it gave her the courage she needed. Brushing down her jacket and holding her head high she strode forwards.
She had been so fixated on herself that she almost bumped into a mature couple. Josie stumbled out an apology and let them in first. Flustered, and having lost any semblance of confidence, she entered the room.
****
Another networking event, this time forced on him by Lady Penelope. Scott scouted out the room as he sipped his Scotch. Many eyes were on the two Tracy brothers, all wanting but not yet daring, to approach. The power of his presence in a room of businessmen never ceased to amaze him.
"Found someone you like yet?" Gordon chimed cheerfully from beside him, though Scott knew him well enough to hear the bored undertone. Penelope had invited Gordon and of course he had said yes, his brother absolutely smitten with the lady. Scott shook his head. Events like this maintained Tracy Industries reputation, though they also gave Scott his player reputation. It was an easy place to pick up a girlfriend or let off some steam. Scott surveyed the room again. Within sight there were a few women who appealed to him.
"I don't always leave with someone."
Scott took a sip of his drink.
"Oh, so you're not the ever-successful ladies’ man we thought you were?" Gordon teased.
"Well, I didn't say that." Scott chuckled. "I just don't always want company."
Gordon rolled his eyes. "Yeah, right. I bet you've had many failed conquests. You just don't want to admit it."
Scott shook his head. "You believe what you want, Gordon."
"Bet you can't get a random woman to sleep with you," Gordon challenged.
Scott bit his lip, trying not to rise to Gordon's bait. Yes, Scott had been planning to find some company for the evening, but a bet? He shouldn't sink to that. Thankfully, the CEO of a small engineering company that had worked with Tracy Industries a year ago strolled over. Scott slipped into CEO mode and exchanged the required pleasantries and confirmed that they were considering working with their company again, before one last handshake.
"So, the Great Scott Tracy is backing down from a challenge?"
Scott rolled his eyes. Gordon was bored and just trying to find a way to entertain himself, but Scott did like a challenge. What's the worst that could happen? With a sigh, he gave in.
"What are the stakes?"
"If you can't seduce the woman I pick, then you give the swimming pool its biannual clean."
"And if I win, you are on deck lounger duty for a month."
“Deal.”
Gordon held out his hand and Scott shook it. He knew this was a bad idea, but it
would liven up the evening a little, and Scott was in the mood for a little fun. Something to help him relax after a tough week. His brother’s eyes scouted the room looking for the ideal candidate. The smirk that appeared on Gordon’s face worried him.
“The next woman to walk through the door.”
Scott raised his eyebrow. It was a gamble, but Scott understood why Gordon had
done it. He nodded and took a sip of his drink. Both men had their eyes on the door. A few people left, but no one entered. When the door finally opened, they both held their breath. An older couple entered, their outfits and demeanour radiating their importance. A quick sideward glance at Gordon confirmed he was holding back a laugh. Scott sighed before looking back toward the couple. Behind them the door opened again and in walked a lone woman.
“That one, the nervous blond.” Gordon announced.
A nod from Scott and he accepted the challenge. His eyes surveyed the woman. She was young, probably about Virgil’s age, and she definitely looked uncomfortable. Her clothing was smart and fitted her well, but he could tell they weren’t the high end fashion that many were wearing that evening. Her hair was loose, brushing down past her shoulders, and there was nothing wrong with her features. She had the kind of appearance most people would look over, including himself, for someone more striking. Scott started to formulate a strike plan. He knew he had to avoid overwhelming her, she probably wouldn’t be expecting to get the attention he was going to give her. He turned back to his brother; whose attention had turned to something else. Scott followed Gordon’s gaze to see Lady Penelope with a tall man, laughing away. The man was obviously flirting with the aristocrat. The clenched jaw and stiffened stance of the aquanaut gave in to jealousy he was feeling. Without a second thought, Gordon strolled over to the gathering and joined in, a fake smile plastered his face. Scott shook his head, before turning back to his target.
****
The glass was chilled in her hand, and Josie took a sip of the non-alcoholic mojito with the hopes it would help steady her nerves. Practicing her breathing techniques briefly, she turned around only to come face to chest with someone. She was flustered again and felt heat rise in her cheeks. Her eyes fell on the man in front of her and her heart jumped.
She froze. Her instincts put her on high alert. This man looked like trouble, and she had just made contact with his deep blue eyes. He smiled at her, dimples deepening in his cheeks when he did so. Mind over body, mind over body, she repeated in her head. It was the intensity he gave off, the way he held himself like he was in control. He hadn't been surprised by her almost bumping into him. He'd know she was there and hadn't moved. She'd seen this before at university, she'd learnt the signs from experience. But still, why did they always have to be attractive? Why did they always gravitate to her? Josie rolled her shoulders back and gave him a brief nod.
“Excuse me.” Josie smiled politely, ducking as gracefully as she could past him.
“I’ve not seen you here before.”
Josie paused. His deep voice demanded her attention. She was here to network, at least she could get him over and done with. She could keep her cool, watch out for his game. Josie was wiser now. She turned around and held out her hand.
“Josie McNelly, engineer for Taybrooke Aeronautics, Satellite division.”
He shook her hand firmly. The man looked familiar, though she couldn't place where from.
“Scott Tracy, CEO of Tracy Industries.”
That explained the familiarity. She smile grew as she thought of her brother’s prized
poster of Jeff Tracy which had hung above his bed. Josie could see the resemblance
to the astronaut. Same eyes for certain. She'd been shocked at the sudden loss of the great Jeff Tracy. Not that her brother had ever met him, but the astronaut had been such a big part of their childhood. Especially the fights over who was greater, her admiration for Neil Armstrong was still just as strong. The memories threw her, and suddenly she had no idea what to say next. How do you network again? What do you talk about with the CEO of Tracy Industries, one of the best engineering companies in the world? Facts about the company filled Josie's head and thankfully one stood out.
"Tracy Industries doesn't have a UK branch, so may I ask what brings you to London?"
Josie took a deep breath as the man paused; glad she could make an impression. She congratulated herself while remembering what she was here to do. She'd failed to get a job at Tracy Industries on multiple occasions, maybe this could be a way in. She almost laughed at herself. The CEO was unlikely to care for someone as low down the pecking order as she. Part of her wanted to try, just in case. If people less qualified could get experience and jobs over her by knowing the right people, maybe she could too. That was why she was here, to get the contacts so she could play their game.
"You've done your research. Tracy Industries works with some UK based companies that are represented here tonight, and the event is being hosted by a good friend of mine. I've not heard of Taybrooke Aeronautics before, care to give me some insight?"
His strikingly blue eyes gazed down at her with sincerity. It threw Josie to see it in someone she suspected of having ulterior motives, however she'd tried to keep her cool. Staying wary, she engaged with him.
"Taybrooke Aeronautics is a small Scottish company. It started with plane design and manufacturing then branched out into satellites and astronautical technology. It's well known for its niche and unique satellite designs. It's entirely based in Scotland and has various sites throughout the country."
"Have they done anything I might have heard of?"
"Have you heard of Global One?"
"The GDF's space station."
"Yes, the thrusters that keep it in orbit are a product of Taybrooke Aeronautics. They are actually my design."
"Your design? Aren't they normally developed by a team of engineers."
The surprise on Mr Tracy's face was priceless. It wasn't the first time people were shocked by what Josie could do, and she was planning to make sure it wasn't the last. If she wanted to become a big name rocket designer, she was going to have to blow a few minds.
"The initial design was mine, obviously other engineers had input over materials and the like, but the actual design hasn't changed much. Taybrooke owns the patent, but my name is on it, so you can check it if you don't believe me. They aren't the only thing I've designed that's currently on orbit. Two of my resistojet rockets were used in some private satellites that were launched late last year."
Josie refused to hide her pride. Her family was proud of her achievements even if they didn't understand them. It was why she was here, to continue making them proud of her. She and her brother had had a dream and she was going to fulfil it if she could.
"That's impressive. Have you considered applying for a role in the Tracy Industries aeronautical department? I'm sure we are always in need of people with your kind of skills."
Josie took a deep breath. She wanted to believe Mr Tracy. Every engineer wanted a job at Tracy Industries, it was considered one of the industry leads and had fantastic employee benefits. The company was known worldwide for taking care of its workforce, but she had never made the cut. Neither did she believe this man would remember her beyond today. It was time to end this conversation and see if anyone here might actually be interested in hiring an engineer. Josie met his gaze and prepared to say her piece.
"I have applied for various aeronautical and astronautical roles at Tracy Industries since graduating. I've been called to interview twice, one at the European branch in Germany and another at the Japanese branch. Both times I was turned away for lack of experience. The Japanese branch didn't believe I would fit in with the company's culture and the European job was given to the son of one of the employees. It appears that I’m currently not what Tracy Industries is seeking. It’s been interesting talking with you Mr Tracy, but I have just spotted someone that I would really like to speak with, so if you’d kindly excuse me. Have a pleasant rest of the evening.”
Josie turned and strode away from Mr Tracy. She headed into the crowd, not looking back, keeping her eyes open for the people she'd flagged on the short guest list she had managed to obtain. There were representatives here that might help get her into the industry. Not that she wouldn't stop applying to Tracy Industries jobs, a girl could dream, but she was realistic. Josie knew she had to work her way up and she needed to make the right contacts.
****
Scott watched Josie walk away. She weaved into the crowd and disappeared from his sight. Gordon had lucked out and this bet was going to be harder than he thought. Miss McNelly may be nervous, but there was something beneath her words and her guard was up. He would have to change his approach, and unfortunately, he couldn't use Tracy Industries as bait. Josie wanted a job and she seemed to believe Tracy Industries didn't want her. Even if he could promise her a job, he was sure she wouldn't believe him. Scott was so used to women warming to him, swooning over his smile, and in many cases excited by the prospect of spending the evening with someone from International Rescue. Josie hadn't even mentioned it or made an indication that she knew he was part of the elusive organisation. Scott headed to the bar and ordered another scotch. He lent against the polished wood, swirling the drink in thought. He had to get her to lower her guard, to open up. His eyes hit the crowd and he sighed. Scott knew he was going to have to take the plunge.
Almost an hour later and Scott hadn't been able to get close to Miss McNelly. He'd glimpsed her but being in the crowd meant he had to be polite to the other attendees, especially those who the company did business with. Duty called without the usual klaxon that echoed through the villa. Although Scott did want to be rescued from the current conversation; fisheries in the Atlantic were more Gordon's realm. He inspected the room, going from head to head in search of Miss McNelly. He easily spotted Gordon, standing next to Lady Penelope who was conversing with a young businessman. At least his brother wasn't having much luck either. Continuing, he spotted Mr Sandip with whom he'd had a pleasant conversation with at a previous gala. Excusing himself, Scott headed over to the man, but as he neared, Scott got a glimpse of whom he was talking to. Josie's hands were moving as she described something, and as he stepped up to the pair, he could hear the enthusiasm in her voice. There was a sparkle in her grey eyes that hadn't been there previously.
"Mr Tracy! How good to see you again? How have you been?"
Mitchell Sandip had spotted him out of the corner of his eye and had turned to offer him a hand, which Scott took with a smile.
"I'm very well, thank you, though I wasn't expecting to see you here."
"Yes, well, the representative from the engineering department that was meant to attend became unwell. With so few people free to come, I drew the short straw. Though, seeing you has greatly improved my night."
Scott laughed at the accountant, his friendly demeanour had charmed Scott last time they had met.
"Now, Mr Tracy, have you met Miss McNelly? She has quite the head for numbers. Unfortunately, she's not after an accounting job otherwise I'd snap her up before anyone else could!"
Scott turned to the woman in question, eyebrow raised. Head for numbers, well she was an engineer. He watched her straight up and nod politely at him.
"I'm rather good with calculations.”
Mitchell's hand landed on Scott's arm, drawing his attention away from Miss McNelly. The shorter man's hazel eyes peered up at him full of excitement.
"She's being incredibly modest, Mr Tracy. I was certain someone was pilfering funds, and after a week I managed to work out who and how, but I hadn't mentioned it to anyone yet. I’ve just finished collecting all the evidence and sent it to HR. Well, I was just discussing yearly finances with Mr Yang over there, and I was just throwing a lot of numbers about, as you do, trying to show off, when Miss McNelly pipes up saying my calculations are wrong. I told her they weren't, and she said they had to be unless someone was swindling money. I was shocked that she could work it out like that, then she rattled off her calculations faster than anything. Like I said, I hadn’t told anyone and Miss McNelly here was able to work it out in minutes. Obviously, I had to confirm this wasn’t just a one off, so Mr Yang and I rattled a few numbers off, and Josie performed the calculations there and then. All in her head and fast as can be. It was incredible!"
Scott turned with Mitchell back to Miss McNelly. There was a proud smile on her face, even if he could see that she was still nervous. Her fingers were playing gently with the hem of her jacket.
"I've always been fast with numbers."
"Are you certain you don't want to be an accountant?"
Miss McNelly laughed, a blush coming to her cheeks.
"As I told the Professor during my interview at Cambridge, when he asked why I was pursuing a career in engineering over mathematics; for me mathematics is easy. I don't want to be bored. I want to be challenged."
A cheeky grin graced Josie's lips, obviously warming to Mitchell's easy charm. It was hard not to smile around Mitchell, the man had a unique manner that just set people at ease.
"How about a drink then?"
“Fantastic idea, Mr Tracy. I’m sure Miss McNelly is in need of one too.”
Scott beckoned over a waiter, who swiftly moved around the other attendees to reach them.
"I'll have a sherry, if you don't mind."
"I'll have a Scotch please. What would you like, Miss McNelly, another mojito?"
Josie hesitated a moment and seemed to become uneasy, her fingers returning to her hem.
"Another mojito would be lovely, thank you."
"Is that all?"
"Yes, thank you."
Scott dismissed the waiter, still intrigued by Miss McNelly. There was so much to uncover, and although he was starting to feel that he'd be cleaning the pool next week, he hadn't given up. Mitchell was just the person he needed to help break down those walls of hers.
"So, a Cambridge graduate then? I've a friend who did engineering at Cambridge university."
"Yes, it's a fantastic institution. It took me a year to find my feet, but I thrived once I did. Did you visit your friend while he was there?"
Scott chuckled slightly at the thought of visiting Brains at university. His father hadn't met the man yet and he would have been a kid himself.
"No, I never got the chance."
"That's a shame. It's like a world of its own. All the best equipment within old buildings and traditions which go back centuries. Although it was fun at the start, with all the formal dinners and dressing up in your gown, it does get a little mundane after the umpteenth time. Sure, it's a three course meal with wine from some excellent chefs, but you can't eat that rich food every day and it's expensive. I could keep myself fed and watered for a week for the price of two evening meals!"
"I must admit, I didn't make the best decisions when it came to food during my first years in the Air Force."
Scott thought back to the instant noodles and takeaways he'd indulged in on the weekends. The freedom that came with not having to eat Grandma's home cooking had been liberating. Though he did eventually learn to cook a few simple dishes during his time in the Air Force.
"Most of us make bad choices at university. It comes with being young and free."
There was a sadness in her tone and her face dimmed slightly. What mistakes had this woman made that she regretted? Did it have something to do with the guard she hid behind? She put on a forced smile, and he knew he had to keep her engaged. Unfortunately, Lady Penelope and Gordon decided to make their entrance to the group.
"Oh! Why hello Lady Penelope, and you are…."
Mitchell held out his hand to Gordon, who shook it with his usual amount of enthusiasm. Out of the corner of his eye, Scott caught the movement of Miss McNelly's hand. She was once again fiddling with her jacket.
"Gordon Tracy."
"Ahhh, Mr Tracy's brother. I see the resemblance now."
Scott hid his laugh behind a grin, though he caught Miss McNelly’s eyes darting between him and Gordon. He wondered if she was picking up on the same resemblance. Scott watched as Lady Penelope, and then Gordon, introduced themselves. The drinks they had ordered arrived, and Scott noted the way Miss McNelly took a tentative sip of the drink. The small talk started, though Scott caught the small sips she took frequently, as a way to keep herself busy. She was definitely out of her element, which might explain why her guard was up. He listened in, gaining snippets of information about the woman. Gordon was keen to keep her chatting, probably as a way of distracting her from him, thus improving the chances Scott was going to lose the bet. After a while, Miss McNelly politely excused herself. Scott watched as she headed in the direction of the bathrooms, he hoped that meant she’d be back.
“Miss McNelly is quite the interesting character, don’t you think Scott?”
Scott could see the small grin on his brother's face and the gleam in his eye that revealed to Scott the hidden meaning. Gordon thought the bet was his and he’d gotten out of his chore. Another business associate of Tracy Industries joined their group and stole Scott’s attention. Miss McNelly never returned.
****
Finally getting away from yet another business proposal, Scott headed to the bar where Gordon was perched. He lent against it and turned to survey the room with his brother.
"No success then?"
"As much as you've had with Lady Penelope."
Scott's eyes fell on Miss McNelly. She was chatting with Mitchell again. Maybe he still had a chance. Turning to the bartender he ordered a Scotch and mojito. Gordon raised his eyebrow at the order.
"One last chance. I'm not going to give in that easily."
Scott grabbed the drinks and headed toward Miss McNelly. She'd just shaken hands with Mitchell and the man had turned to chase down someone on the other side of the room. He took a breath and turned on the charm.
***
Josie watched Mr Sandip hurry after someone and smiled to herself. He'd promised to pass on her details to recruitment. She was feeling beat but was pretty pleased with her efforts. She'd sold her company and thrown out a few business cards. Hopefully she'd made her mark. The whole event hadn't been as bad as she'd expected, though that one alcoholic drink had eased her nerves a little. She was happy to have been able to keep it to one. Glancing at her watch, she confirmed it was late and she still had some travelling to do. It was time for her to leave.
"Miss McNelly, care to have a drink with me?"
Dread filled her as the familiar voice spoke from behind. Turning she immediately noticed Mr Tracy was standing between her and the exit. She took a deep breath. In the man's hands were two drinks: an amber spirit and a mojito. Her breath caught in her throat, the situation bringing her back to a night she wanted to forget.
"You got me a drink?"
She stared at the glass. She suspected it had alcohol in it, having ordered one in front of him, but what else did it contain? She couldn't confirm it wasn't spiked. Would he do that sort of thing? Save people one day, drug them the next? Rich people never made sense to her though. They defied logic.
"I thought we could chat a little more."
He held out the mojito, forcing Josie to make a choice. Did she trust the man? She looked up into his face. He had a warm smile that met his eyes and she wanted to trust him. She wanted so much to believe he was a good guy. But her fear was there, deep inside as it always was, and she couldn't. She smiled at him as she reached out her right hand and plucked the glass of what she hoped was scotch, from his grip. Josie kept her eyes locked on his as she raised the glass to her lips. The amber liquid was not one she'd tried before, probably a vintage out of her price range. She was thankful it wasn't peaty; she hates those. His mouth dropped in shock as he looked at the cocktail in his hand. Josie couldn’t help the smile as she fought not to laugh. She let the liquid roll over her tongue and down her throat.
"I'm Scottish and it's the end of the night. You never asked me what I wanted."
She locked eyes with him as the shock faded from his face. Mr Tracy glanced down at the cocktail briefly, indecision in his eyes. Josie was still on edge, ready to step back if she had to. She decided to test the water.
"Take a sip. The mojitos here are the best."
Josie challenged him. If he refused to drink it then it must be spiked. If it wasn't, there was no reason not to take a sip. His hand stayed where it was.
"I'd rather the scotch."
"This scotch is mine now, and you don't want to waste that drink now, do you?"
****
Miss McNelly's face was serious. Scott felt slightly uncomfortable under her scrutinizing gaze. It was a challenge. For some reason, she wanted him to drink the mojito. He hadn’t expected her to take his drink and she had sipped it without grimacing. Never before had he met someone who acted as she did. Most people wanted to know more about him, most pestered about International Rescue, but not Miss McNelly. It felt like she had never warmed to him, even if she had seemed better and more relaxed during their conversation with Mitchell. Scott didn't want to drink the mojito; it was his most despised cocktail. What was this woman's game?
"No, thank you."
"Fine."
Scott was shocked again when Miss McNelly took the cocktail from him. What happened next, happened both at lightning speed and in slow motion. There was nothing Scott could do to stop it.
"Thank you for the drink, but I don't appreciate the attention you've given me. I tried to make it clear I wasn't interested."
The cocktail glass was thrust in his direction, its contents flying out at him. Ice and mint hit his face as the sticky fluid started to soak into his shirt. As if that wasn't enough Miss McNelly stood on her toes, stretched up and poured the scotch into his hair. It trickled down his neck.
“I’m not interested.”
Miss McNelly stalked past him. Scott didn't know how to react. One part of him wanted to storm after her and demand an explanation, though that would probably make things worse. This is what he gets for accepting a silly bet. He turned on his heel and headed towards the exit. Gordon was sitting at the bar and the smirk on his face became laugher as Scott approached. His brother was struggling to stay in his stool.
"I'm calling it a night."
"Sure Scott….I look forward...to watching you...clean the pool." Gordon gasped between spasms of laughter.
****
Josie bolted. She started running once she had heard the door shut. She didn't stop, not looking back and running as fast as she could to the nearest light rail station. Fear was a great motivator, and she didn't slow until she was on the platform where she gasped for breath. Josie had never been a runner. She hated it. Her eyes never left the entrance until she was on the train. Only then could she start to relax. Once in the carriage the tears started to fall. She’d overreacted. She'd made a scene. Her body shook. How stupid could she be? Slipping her phone out of her jacket she swiped up her call history and tapped the first person on the list.
****
Josie lay back on the bench. It was around the corner from the hostel she’d booked for the night. The cheapest way to stay in London was to share a bunk bed with a stranger. There was no way she could have a private conversation in a room of sleeping people, and this random street bench was the easiest option. If there was ever someone she needed right now, it was her best friend Graham. His thick Scottish accent rang out from her phone.
“Seriously Josie, ye need to stop seeing every man as a potential threat. Cannae a man just be polite?”
“I don’t suspect all men, just the ones that make me feel uncomfortable.”
“Ye said this guy was Scott Tracy, right?”
“Yes.”
“Scott Tracy, the Commander of International Rescue and pilot of Thunderbird One?”
“Maybe, I can’t remember which one flies which.”
“Hold on, ye can list every damned fact available about the Thunderbirds, but ye cannae tell me who pilots them?”
“You sound like my brother! Why should I care who flies the Thunderbird? I want to know how they fly!”
Graham rolled his eyes, and Josie couldn’t help but laugh at him. She twisted onto her front, her arm aching from holding her phone in the air.
“Well, I’ve looked him up and I think ye would have been safe to drink that mojito. Although I’ll admit that he probably was hitting on ye. According to the gossip blogs he has picked up the odd girlfriend from events like that. Not that they last long, with him spending most of his time savin' people. If ye hadn’t been so aggressive ye could be heading back to Scotland with a great story! Imagine being able to say ye slept with the pilot of Thunderbird One!”
“A. I prefer Thunderbird Three. B. I’d rather spend the night with Thunderbird One herself. C. If I’d known, I would have given him your number.”
Josie stuck her tongue out, only to watch Graham contort his face in response. They both ended up in a fit of giggles.
“At least ye still have a good story for the next campfire. Many girls have slept with Mr Thunderbird One, but I doubt many can claim they threw a drink in his face.”
A groan left Josie as she placed her forehead against the wood, breathing in its damp musk. She was never going to forget this and once it’d been passed round the town, it would definitely make its way to work. They would never let her go to another event again.
“I’m an idiot. The whole night was pointless. No one is going to want to hire me now.”
“Definitely an idiot. They only let those into private schools.”
Josie scowled at her friend, though she was fighting a smile. It was an old joke, one that Graham used when she needed to see perspective. It reminded both of them how far they had come. Even if Josie was still stuck in Scotland. She yawned at the same time as the fifteen-minute warning was announced on Graham’s end.
“Looks like we’re both in bunks tonight.”
“Righty-ho. G'night Josie.”
"G’night Grey.”
Josie was just about to end the call when Graham decided to get the last word in.
“And Jo, FYI Gordon Tracy pilots Thunderbird Four.”
Josie glared at him. The last thing she heard was Graham’s laughter as the screen went black. Cradling her phone in her hand, she stared at it, before turning her head to the sky. She couldn't see the stars that she knew were there. Josie may not have her dream job, yet, but Graham always reminded her of how lucky she was.

The Yule Ball
SUMMARY: The yule ball at Hogwarts was so eagerly awaited that everyone was on edge. Obviously, you were too, but you didn't know that the person you wanted to go with was too. There were some misunderstandings.
Pairing: Charlie Weasley x fem!Reader
Word Count: 4.3k
A/N: I confess that this little writing was kept inside "my drawer" and only now I decided to write it on the computer. I hope you like it.
I based my character on the game, that's why there are mentions of her being from Hufflepuff.
                                                        ♦♦♦
“Y/N! Tonks! I need to hide!” Penny entered the common room in panic.
“What’s wrong, Penny?” you asked.
“I’ve heard that Diego wants to invite me to the ball. I don’t have a pair yet and I don’t know how to reject him. So, I’m running away until I find a good excuse.”
You and Tonks had to hold the laughter.
“Why won’t you go with him? He is pretty popular, you know?” you said.
“Oh, please! Have you heard the way he talks about himself?”
They heard people passing by the barrel. For the voices, it must be the boys.
“You didn’t see me!” Penny hurried to the girl’s dorm.
She barely had time to close the door, Diego came in right after.
“Have you guys seen Penny?” He asked.
You and Tonks had to make an extra effort to control the guilty faces.
“No, we didn’t see her. No.”
"Strange... I met Skye on the way, and she saw Penny coming here."
Diego turned around just as Chiara Lobosca left the girls' dorm.
"Chiara, is Penny sleeping yet?"
"Penny? She is-"
Behind Diego's back, you gestured fervently, silently asking Chiara to say yes.
“She is sleeping! She is sleeping already.”
"With all this ball stuff, she must be very tired," you added.
"It’s not that she usually sleeps like a rock-Ouch!" you nudged Tonks.
“Uh, okay. I'll speak to her tomorrow.”
The girls waited for the boy to leave and then collapsed on the couch.
“That was close.”
"Let’s go and see what we can do for Penny."
They went into the girl’s dorm and found Penny walking back and forth.
"How can I get rid of him?"
"Say you already have a pair," Tonks suggested before tossing a bean inside her mouth and making a grim face at the horrible taste of earthworm.
"But I don't have and I don't like lying either. I just don't want to hurt him."
“Then invite someone! Someone nice," you suggested and already had someone in mind. It worries her that Talbott might have wanted to go to the ball and had no one to go to because the only two students she ever saw him interacting with were Penny and herself. If possible, she wanted everyone to enjoy the ball. "It could be one of our friends."
“Yes. I guess you are right and I think I know who. I just hope he is not going with someone, already. I will send him an owl right away!”
You went to bed feeling quite satisfied with herself.
At the courtyard the next morning everyone was busy, walking here and there with all the work Penny Haywood was putting through into making the Celestial Ball the most marvellous. The corridors were filled with shining silver stars and everywhere, the students, more girls than boys, just talked about the ball. At the girl’s bathroom with Rowan, you brought the ball again with Rowan, she still couldn’t believe her friend didn’t want to go.
“It is not just me and Ben, many people just don’t want to go to this ball either. And it’s too stressful that everyone keeps talking about it.” Rowan said.
“You are looking by the entire wrong perspective. It is not about the ball it’s about enjoying it with the people you like.” You tried to convince her.
“So, you are going to the ball.”
“I would… But I don’t have a date.”
“What about that boy yesterday?” you felt her cheeks becoming red. A blond boy she didn’t know from Gryffindor asked you and you refused. You already had a person you wanted to go with and that was Charlie Weasley. Since the day he defended her from Merula in Care of Magical Creatures they became friends. He has been helping her find the next cursed vault and you didn’t even have to convince him to. But you still didn’t get the nerve to ask him for the ball.
“I rejected him. Well, who cares?” – you lied. You were just too embarrassed to admit there was a person, in particular, you wanted to go with. “Why would I get all dressed up for a stupid tradition anyway.” You added, spiritless.
“Alright, alright... I won’t go anyway. It is not like I even got a dress.” Rowan replied.
“Boo-hoo the poor losers couldn't get anyone to go to this stupid ball.” From one of the toilet cabins, Merula appeared as she was listening to the whole conversation.
“What about you, Merula? Who are you going with?” You asked, ignoring Merula’s antics.
“Humpf! That none of your business, weirdo!” She scoffed and walked away.
Rowan and You looked at each other for a second.
“Who do you think is going to take Merula to the ball?” You asked.
“Maybe she'll go with Barnaby.”
“They are no longer friends as far as I know. Besides, he's already going with that Ravenclaw girl.”
“With Tulip?”
“No. It’s the one with curly hair who is always reading.”
“Nancy Gould? What a surprise. I think I have never seen them talking with each other.”
Rowan liked Nancy since they both loved to read and preferred to spend time alone nurturing their knowledge. Although, Rowan’s interest was more general and Nancy showed a special interest in magical creatures. Maybe she and Barnaby had much in common after all.
“That's what he told me. Anyway, I want to get this story right, let's go to the lake and talk to her.”
You hasn't had a proper conversation with Nancy yet, but someone who is friends with Rowan, Ben and Liz couldn’t possibly be a bad person. Besides, you could use this opportunity. By the lake, they saw Nancy under a tree, drawing the giant squid that was resting at the surface.
“Nancy!” You called.
The girl looked up from her sketchbook, surprised to see the famous curse breaker of her year talking to her. You knew you were well-known at school because of her brother Jacob and the cursed vaults. What you could not imagine is that for good or for bad, you were becoming very popular for you deeds.
Later that morning, Andre got an unexpected invitation to the ball. He still hasn’t said to anyone, but now he was rather curious about who his friends were going with. At the courtyard he found Ben and Charlie playing gobblestones.
“Got any idea who you’re going to ask for the ball?” Andre asked.
As Rowan, Ben didn’t want to go to the ball, but You and Andre made special arrangements to help them with the clothes and now he was excited to go.
“I was too nervous to go before, but now I want to go alone. I’m not brave enough to invite somebody anyway.” Ben replied.
Charlie did not answer. Andre had an idea of whom his friend wanted to go with.
“Well, you better hurry up. I heard she already rejected a boy from our house.”
He wasn’t enthusiastic about the ball but the thought of You going with some other guy made his stomach churn.
“Who are you going with?”
“With Penny.”
Penny was the most popular and one of the most beautiful girls of their year. For sure a bunch of guys would be jealous.
“What? You asked her?”
“No, she asked me this morning. I was surprised too.”
“You were lucky. How am I supposed to ask her? We are friends and I don’t want to make things… awkward.” He could feel his heart racing already. Andre didn’t know what to say because he liked Penny but didn’t feel that way about her. If they asked Penny for advice she would definitely help, but you would know for sure since they are close.
“I don’t know how to help you. I asked Nancy yesterday, but she already had a pair.”
“Oh. She is going with Barnaby.” Ben said while eating a piece of chocolate he got for winning the game.
“Really? He asked her?” Andre was surprised. Nancy was too quiet and he knew she had few friends.
“I don’t know.”
“Now I’m curious. Let's talk to him, then.”
The boys went down the hill and found Barnaby throwing stones at the Fighting Willow.
“Hey, Barnaby. Are you busy?”
“No, just killing time. Need me for something?”
“It’s just… We're having trouble getting the girls to the ball…” Charlie said.
“We are?” Ben asked and Andre nudged his arm.
“So, we wanted to ask you how did you invite Nancy?”
“I don’t know, man. I just asked. She had lost Twiggy last week and I found him. When I returned him to her, I asked if she didn’t want to go with me.”
“Twiggy?”
“It is her bowtruckle. I kept him all day with me until Liz warned me it was hers.”
“We didn’t know you were close. I almost never see her talking with other people.” Andre said.
Barnaby scratched his head and made a confused expression, as he had just now given a deep thought about it.
“I have to admit, I feel sort of weird when I realize this. I mean, I like Nancy. She is easy to talk to and you can she’s pretty smart. She’s always done the demonstration when Professor McGonagall calls on her.” he smiled as he spoke so naively that the boys wondered if this was one of his secrets to attracted so many girls. Also, ‘easy to talk to’ was definitely not the way people usually described Nancy.
“Also, she let me play with Prowler.” He completed.
Prowler is the name of Nancy’s kneazle. Charlie and Andre exchanged funny looks, now they could see where his interest lies.
In the end, he still didn’t know how to get the nerves to invite You. He was getting worried now. If he didn’t do it soon, you will go with somebody else. He’d just have to talk to you, that’s all. He ran through the corridors expecting to find you, but his way was blocked by an unpleasant figure. Merula the bully from Slytherin.
“Looking for someone?” She asked.
“Go away, Merula. I don’t have time for you.”
“Oh, please! For as much as I hate you, I hate Y/S even more. So, I thought about warning you that she just doesn’t care about… what she called? A stupid tradition.”
He looked at her with skeptical eyes.
“… You are making this up.”
“I had just seen her, and she said exactly these words to that bookworm friend of hers. Well, I don’t really care if you believe me or not. But if you are going to invite her, I hope I can be there to see your face after rejection.” She left laughing.
He was never one for trusting Merula, but she managed to completely destroy his confidence.
                                                          ♦ ♦ ♦
As Nancy told them the whole story it was impossible not to giggle when thinking about the number of girls who must have been furious having Barnaby taken away like that.
"Wow. I wish I could just do it easily, like Barnaby." You said.
“You think too much. After that everything you have done, inviting someone to the ball can’t be that scary, right?”
Nancy was a quiet girl, but she talked rather bluntly. And she was right, for the girl who defeated You Know Who - even as a boggart - last year. Asking Charlie should be easy.
“…yeah. You know what? You're right! I know what I'm supposed to do. I’m going to talk to him. I can do that!”
“Ew! What is this? the weirdos club?” It was Merula again.
“You have nothing better to do?” You said. The second time today, she was getting the feeling of persecution right now. “We are just talking about the ball, Merula. Want to join us?”
“Oh, please. I’m just waiting to see the show. The mighty Y/S doesn’t have a pair to the ball.”
“I will have a pair because I will invite the person I want, myself.” You said with her chin raised in confidence.
“You do that. Don’t waste a bit of your time thinking why a certain redhead boy haven’t asked you all this time.”
You were speechless, how did she know that she wanted to go with Charlie? What did Merula know about him that you didn’t? Merula said nothing more and just walked away with a smirk on her face as she just had won a fight.
“Why would she say that?” Rowan asked.
“Why do you think she does anything if not to harass others?” Nancy said that with a serious tone. But she hurriedly stored all her drawing material as if she wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Before she goes, she stopped right next to You and spoke to her in a low tone.
“There is something there. Take care, curse-breaker.” She had a discreet smile in the end.
“You think Merula may have planned something?” Rowan asked after Nancy climbed up the hills back to the castle.
“I don’t know. But there's no smoke without fire. I will look for Charlie. We see each other in the common room.”
Determined, you marched off in search of Charlie, ready to confront him.
                                                           ♦ ♦ ♦
“Charlie, why haven’t you invited me for the ball?”
At first, he was taken back for the sudden question. He was so busy thinking about inviting you that he didn’t think you would bring up the subject. Now he didn’t know what to say. The question looked like a minefield, what would be the right answer here?
“I didn’t know you wanted to go.” He said with genuine surprise.
You blinked at him in confusion.
“What? Why? What made you think that?”
“Come on? Really? You said it was a stupid thing.”
By the wide-eyed look on her face, he saw he had just screwed up.
“I can’t believe it! What Merula have told you?”
Judging by her reaction it was true after all. You were about to say that it was a lie, but he said instead.
“I think you were right. Who cares about this tradition anyway?”
You didn’t believe what you were hearing.
“Is that what you think? What is this for you?”
By ‘this’ what you hoped to hear was not just about the ball, but what did he think about their relationship. That he clearly didn’t grasp.
He nervously avoided you gaze and didn’t say anything.
“Answer the question, Charlie.” You demanded in a low tone but commanding voice. This hurtful discussion was taking long enough. He normally likes how you say his name, but you tone this time was a bit scary. He felt cornered.
“Why are you pushing this?”
That was the final blow. You felt this horrible feeling swelling up and the tears forming in her eyes. Since you skin was so pale, every time she cries you nose gets red. You could not see it, but you felt your nose pricking already.
“I thought it had a special motive for you to want to be with me. I guess it was not the case.”
You tried to say in a low and composed voice, but it sounded choked. You cleaned with your palm a single tear that escaped your eye. At this vision of you, his eyes opened wide, and he felt like his heart would stop. He had never seen you cry, not even once since he knew her. Not even when people talked bad things about you or your brother, nor when they went to the Forbidden Forest, not even when you fought your biggest fear last year.
“Wait, it’s not like that-” He grabbed you arm, but you furiously shook it off and turned away from him, walking though.
The next day, Charlie tried to talk to you in all ways he could think of and you clearly avoided him all the times with a furious look on her face. Also, you were never alone, which turned even harder to approach.
“What did you even do to her to get her this mad?” Bill asked after Gryffindor’s practice. It was hard not to notice the tension between them since morning.
“I screwed it up this ball thing. Now I can’t even say I’m sorry, much less invite her.”
“Well, you must try harder, little bro. I heard Y/N was invited by two other guys.”
“What?” Charlie’s face went pale in despair, he almost fell off his broom.
From the other side of the quidditch field, Ben came running towards them and clumsy bumping in a few players along the way. He brought news from you.
“Alright, huh... I talked to Y/N.”
“What Y/N said?”
“... Y/N said that she hates you with the fire of a Chinese Fireball. She also said that is the only way you get it.”
“... Thanks, Ben. That was very comforting,” Charlie said, not masking his ironic tone.
“Maybe Y/N just needs a day to cool off.”
Suddenly a furious bludger came flying over their heads, and they barely dodged.
“Bloody hell!”
From the other side of the field, a Tonks faking an ‘oopsie!’ and an angry you dropping a quidditch bat you used to send that bludger on their direction. You really looked completely like a dragon in fury. The truth is, he thought you were pretty cute when you are mad. He just never noticed before. Well, he had never seen you get that mad.
“… Maybe two,” Bill said.
“Are you kidding?” Charlie had an incredulous look on his face.
“Well, you better hurry. The ball is this weekend.”
Later that night, you went to the dormitories with Rowan, Penny, Chiara, and Tonks discussing the ball. At first, Rowan and Ben didn’t want to go to the ball, but You and Andre made special arrangements to help them with their clothes, and they changed their minds about going.
“And who are you going with, Tonks?”
“Oh, I’m not planning to dance with some boy. Tulip and I made a plan to rock this party. She is the best partner I could have. This ball will be unforgettable.”
“Please, don’t do anything that will ruin my work. Also, the teachers could get angry and you will be in trouble, again.”
“I swear! Nothing bad will befall your party. Just cool stuff.”
“Wait. What is this?” On Chiara’s bed was a cardboard package with a pretty ribbon on it.
“Open it!” The girls said.
Inside there was a beautiful lilac long dress, perfect for a ball.
“There is a letter.” You noticed and passed to Chiara.
It was more like a note, though carefully written. Talbott Winger asked Chiara to the ball. The two of them are strangely alike and like to keep their distance from people, strangely it worked for them with a little help from You and Andre with the idea of the dress. How ironic, you had managed to help your friends go to the ball that you would not be attending herself.
“Are you okay, Y/N?” Penny asked. You were laid on bed looking at the ceiling in silence while the girls were talking for a while now.
“...Oh, I... I will be.”
“You really are not going to the ball?” Penny asked a bit of hurt because the whole reason she wanted to take care of the Celestial Ball was to make it a brilliant experience for her friends.
“Things didn’t go well with Charlie?” Rowan asked.
Everyone looked at you. It was nothing new they weren’t on good terms, but even so, you blushed a little. There were other boys who invited you and you refused them all. That’s because there was only one person you wanted to go with.
“Yes, that’s right.”
The girls made a pitiful face, except for Rowan that walked to the other side of the room to sit together with you on her bed.
“Look. I know that what you said to me in the bathroom was a lie.”
“I’m sorry... I don’t want to spoil your fun at the ball by faking a face.”
“You are always helping us, Y/N. We wouldn’t get any fun at the ball knowing that you are sitting in here.”
You smiled slightly at her comforting words.
“Do you want to go to the ball, don’t you?”
You nodded.
“Then screw those boys and come to the ball with us!” Said Tonks.
“Yes! Come to the ball!” Penny joined.
“That’s right. Thank you, girls.” With their help, you were able to cheer up.
“Then, it’s decided. Let’s go to the ball!”
You got out of bed feeling much better. Even if it was the end of the school’s term there was plenty of homework to do. Most of them from potion’s class. As a diligent student, apart from her troublemaker reputation, you were doing a final review for the Snape's class, not without asking herself every minute why he couldn't be like professor Flitwick. That’s when you received an unexpected visit to your favourite place to study, it was Murphy Mcnully.
“Hey, Y/N! Can I talk with you for a minute?”
Who could have imagined that in the end, you would still get a pair to the ball? Murphy wasn’t the one you wanted, but they were close friends now. They met a lot of now since you joined the quidditch team. Besides, you feared that he wouldn’t stop talking until you said yes. They gathered at the entrance to the main hall. At the centre of the ballroom tons of other students danced livelily. The decoration was wonderful, with a spell the floor was turned into an entire galaxy under their feet. You could really feel what was like floating in a night sky, especially with the flickering shooting stars coming down from the ballroom’s ceiling. The music is pounding in time to your heartbeat. You could feel the bass in her chest.
“Penny did an excellent job!” Tonks appraised. She had to raise her voice to be heard over the sound of the Weird Sisters playing at the stage.
But you couldn’t enjoy any of this. You had barely entered accompanied by Murphy, when Ben came running in their direction, looking quite alarmed.
“Y/N, something happened.”
“What is it, Ben?”
“It is Charlie, he fell from the broom.”
“What?” You felt her heart sank.
“He is at the infirmary.”
You started to go to the infirmary, completely forgetting about the ball, but you turned around at the realization that you were Murphy’s partner and that you couldn't just leave. But her heart aches. You bit your lower lip in distress.
“Aren’t you going?” Ben asked.
You gave a quick look at him and then turned to Murphy. Even if you were mad at Charlie for two weeks, you had a heart-breaking expression.
“It’s okay, Y/N. You can go see him.”
“No, it’s unfair! I said I’d go with you.”
“I will be fine, really. It must be very boring for him to stay there with the ball going on.” He gave her a reassuring smile.
“Don’t you want to go with us?” You asked.
“Nah, I want to enjoy the party.”
“If you say so. Thank you, Murphy.” You smiled at him and followed Ben as fast as she could in those hills and holding up the tips of her long dress. At the infirmary, there was only Bill besides Charlie’s bed. As you walked in, you were quickly noticed. Charlie looked up, showing a surprised expression and Bill followed his gaze. In the end, he got to see Y/N. You were beautifully dressed. You usually had her hair down. But tonight, you wavy brown hair was tied up in a curly hairstyle. You were wearing a multilayered light blue dress with shades of pink and orange at the tip of the skirt it made it look like an evening sky.
“You?”
“How are you feeling?” You asked.
“Much better. Madam Pomfrey already took care of everything.”
“How did that happen?”
Bill took this opportunity to left them alone and dragged Ben out.
“Well. I think I’ve got distracted in our last game.” In fact, it was because he heard you were going to the ball with Murphy Mcnully right before the game, and he couldn’t concentrate. Thinking about it again was still hurtful. What reminds him, what were you doing here all dressed up instead?
“I thought you were going to the ball.”
“I was, but when I heard that you got injured… I was worried.”
“Oh! Even though you threw that bludger merciless on me?”
“That was different! I knew that you would have dodged it. You are that skilful.” That was the reason why you were so surprised when she heard that he fell. His face became red at the sudden compliment.
“That means you forgive me?” He gazed at you with those dark glittering eyes that make you nervous. You averted your gaze and didn’t answer.
“Y/N/N?” He asked and you turned your gaze back to him. He just gave you a pet name? No one has ever called her Y/N/N before. You could feel your cheeks burning, so you shook her head.
“Look. It is not that I don’t care about the ball. What I care about is being with you.”
His heartbeat staggers. It was all he wanted to hear.
“Listen... I’m really sorry for questing your motives. I just... I was just afraid they weren’t the same as mine...” He said, too embarrassed to keep his gaze on you.
At this sentence, you were filled with a newfound joy. You were blushing hard and your eyes were filled with tears of joy you were trying hard not to cry.
“You got to ruin the party, you stupid.”
Charlie laughed.
“I know. I’m sorry.” Now he was grinning at you, his freckled face illuminated by the light from the bedside table’s single candle. Since it was night, the rest of the infirmary was left in darkness.
