I hate that Anne Rice kept disrespecting Daniel. After The Queen of the Damned, two books go by with no mention of him. Then in The Vampire Armand he gets mentioned but it's like he meant nothing to Armand! He is the only fledgling Armand ever made because he couldn't stand the idea of losing him. In Blood and Gold he's "lost his mind" and needs to be taken care of by Marius. Then three more books go by that forget he exists. He finally gets to do something in Prince Lestat but by the next book he's mentioned just once. And in Blood Communion he is once again forgotten. The mural that Marius paints of all the vampires doesn't include him. Like I get that he can't put every vampire in it but he was completely devoted to Daniel just two books ago (he even included a vampire who was just turned like a day ago so like wtf)
