Mystery Oreos

Mystery Oreos have taken the world by storm. Nabisco has offered a chance to win $50,000 to anyone who can guess the flavor of the Mystery Oreo correctly. Nabisco sent Mystery Oreos to popular public figures, such as Gaten Matarazzo on Instagram (@gatenm123), early before their official release to make people excited about the upcoming Mystery Oreos.

Sight

Mystery Oreos are a visual mystery too, not just in taste. They look exactly like a normal Oreo. There are no special colors to indicate a flavor. The stuf is white, and the cookie looks like a normal chocolate cookie.

Texture

In order to properly determine differences between the texture of the stuf and the cookie, they must be twisted apart and analyzed separately.

When first eating the Mystery Oreo, one might think it is a normal chocolate cookie, but when eating the cookie on its own, it is distinctly softer than the normal chocolate cookie. There is no discernable snap to the cookie when biting. The cookie makes more of a crunch and crumble when biting it.

The stuf is also distinctly different. Normal Oreo stuf is a soft, smooth creme; however, the stuf in Mystery Oreos is completely different. It visually looks less dry and is more of a frosting consistency.

Taste

Many people trick themselves into thinking the flavor of the Mystery Oreos is pumpkin spice. They taste "a" spice and assume it is pumpkin spice because it is the fall season, but it is certainly not pumpkin spice. The Mystery Oreo stuf has a cinnamon flavor. It is extremely similar to the taste of a long-lost Oreo that most people are unaware exist: Cinnamon Bun Oreos. As a side note: Cinnamon Bun Oreos taste exactly like a cinnamon bun in Oreo form. Mystery Oreos have a similar sweet cinnamon flavor.

When breaking down the Oreo into parts, the cookie is not the usual chocolate cookie like everyone thinks. It's a chocolate Graham cracker. That's where the sugary cinnamon flavor comes from.

Final Verdict

Mystery Oreos as a marketing campaign was genius by Nabisco. They sold many boxes from people interested in joining the craze. What flavor are they though? When combining the graham cracker cookie and cinnamon flavor profiles, there is only one logical flavor that Mystery Oreos could be: Teddy Grahams. Teddy Grahams come in chocolate and cinnamon flavor. This Oreo did not only sell because of the mystery or the possibility of winning a prize for guessing the flavor correctly. They sold because they are a great, sweet flavor for the Oreo line-up.
