Airplane with 22 people on board missing in Nepal

New Delhi (The Times Groupe)- Authorities in Nepal said Sunday that a private plane carrying 22 people has gone missing.

Tara Air’s 9N-AET twin Otter took off from Pokhara.

The Times Groupe reports that a search and rescue operation has been launched, according to home ministry official Fanindra Mani Pokharel.

“There were 19 passengers and three crew members on the plane,” he said, adding that helicopters have been dispatched to find it.

Pokharel said the aircraft lost contact on Sunday morning after taking off from the airport.

The English Daily Kathmandu Post reported that some Indian nationals were also on board.

Good morning. Inej always travels with a little plant to remind herself to always stay rooted somewhere because even though her family travels for performances a bird must always roost somewhere. It’s usually an aconite flower from her homeland!

#( very old country traveling tradition. )#( I imagine that even the traveling Ghafas and the caravan still uphold the Hindu and Nepali traditions that would keep them rooted. )#( that strand of wolfsbane is indigenous to Nepal. and I like to picture Mama Ghafa digging up a new bloom for Inej whenever she visits. )#( in main verse she keeps her plant on her ship!! )#( modern verses it just depends where she is of course. )#( she tends to that flower religiously. it’s a comfort to her especially when she misses her family. )

todays thoughts are abt gabe and the s.outh asian community in london apparently. when others started immigrating in the late 60s/early 70s, he got so excited; seeing people & families he already knew, or people he’d become friends with.. some staying his friends until modern day or knowing their children/grandchildren — celebrating holidays like diwali, eid, sikh new year, with them. since he lived in india for so long, these celebrations feel more “like home” than english christmas or things like nov 5th.

through some plotting w/ a friend, he’s got a kid & she, though looking white, was raised with all this too and the amount of aunties / family friends who have dressed her up & gotten her jewelry and such -

(bhutani???) anyone.#tho if he meets people from ahmedabad he gets so happy #of course there was racism but there was also JOY and NEW LIFE AND CELEBRATION !!
