Spoilers for Bayo 3 ahead!!!

Aight I'm playing Bayonetta 3 rn and I have some thoughts that I HAVE to share for the sake of my mental health. In no particular order:

LUKAON??? Bro the entire Luka plot in this game is almost impressively cringy. Who the fuck plays Bayonetta 1 & 2 and thinks—hmm, this Luka fellow should DEFINITELY become central to the plot for this game to REALLY work. Also, they somehow managed to write out any sort of endearing characteristics of the Luka from previous games?? New Luka's entire personality until now seems to be "uhhhh, me man find woman pretty". I won't even get into the masterclass in bad writing (and bad design tbh) that is "Lukaon" (henceforth named Whiter Luka in this rant). If they were going for a "mysterious stranger" kind of vibe, personally I think they fucking failed miserably. B3Luka is only Luka in name and (arguably) appearance. He has the depth of a blank piece of paper.

I fucking HATE playing as Viola, and this colors my opinion of the character too. No shade to the voice actress, I'm sure she did her best with what she was given, but I have audibly groaned almost every time she appeared on screen. I was okay with the idea of her being an edgy, cringy teen, but she eats up SO much fucking screentime that it becomes jarring. Her gameplay is painfully monotonous, even though I find Cheshire adorable, and her controls are stiffer and very limiting in comparison to Bayonetta herself. Gameplay-wise, Viola is everything a Bayonetta game should NOT be (in my opinion)—LIMITING.

Speaking of limiting, the Jeanne levels. Now, anyone who knows me knows that Jeanne is my queen, but HOLY FUCK those levels. Again, controls do not feel right, level design is atrocious and it all feels like a slog to go through. Why did they think we needed more gimmick levels for the love of fuck?? Why can't I just play Bayonetta in my Bayonetta fucking game? They did my queen dirty, on God...

Why the FUCK are we not exploring the Bayonetta alternative selves more??? There is so much fucking potential, the Egyptian version seems genuinely fascinating to explore, but NOPE!! Why should the Bayonetta game be about Bayonetta when it can be about new character we don't give a shit about and comic-relief-side-character that the writers PROMISE is srs bsns bro, I swear. Ask yourself this, if you were given the choice, would you follow the Viola storyline? I'm genuinely fucking curious.

Ngl, I'm not crazy about the gameplay. It's too much, too fast, nothing seems to matter and nothing is special. They constantly throw enemies at us with no sense of pacing or progression. Same for weapons. Remember the Grace & Glory entrance cutscene from the first game? Remember how memorable that was? Well, hope you DIDN'T like that, cause Bayo 3 will likely never give you that feeling. It's the DEFINITION of too much, too quickly. When everything is meant to be special, nothing is really special. Bayonetta 3 is flashy, for sure, but it feels shallow, at least on the first playthrough. I fucking hate saying this, but I'm genuinely disappointed. I think there are some good bones. I would love to be able to use the new weapons and techniques in a better designed, petter paced game (like Bayonetta 1), but as it stands, playing 3 feels cheap. When I got hit in Bayo 1 I never felt frustration, because most enemies and arenas were designed to allow you to experiment and figure out your own play style. With Bayo 3 I have literally dropped my controller out of frustration (usually when playing Viola). Listen, if be okay with Viola if she was an optional character, like King Zero from the first game or Rosa from the second. As she is, she makes me NOT want to fucking play the game, which is insanely frustrating.

The Crow and Cat umbran tears illustrate the weaknesses of Bayonetta 3's controls VERY fucking well. Why so many fucking gimmicks?? Who plays Bayonetta for the Route 666 and beginning of Isla del Sol, WHO??? Because they would probably love Bayonetta 3.

The world is sadly also quite poorly designed. Everything which shares an aesthetic blends together and orientation without a map of some sorts is a logistical nightmare. Again, it seems like they took the worst parts of Bayo 1 and filled 3 to the brim with them. Gimmicks, backtracking, the fact that you can MISS verses because of the poor map design.

It bears repeating, but this is very personal thing and less of a critique. I don't care about Viola. I don't care about Luka or Whiter Luka. I don't care about the Singularity or Sigurd. I'm. Or even curious about them at this point. Why was Bayonetta relegated to a side character in a game that is NAMED AFTER HER?? I care more about Ed and Edna than I do all previous individuals mentioned. The story of Bayonetta was never great, even in 1, but it was held together by memorable characters. You can't TELL me that a character is memorable, you have to show me. Even the character of Bayo herself has suffered as a result of the poor writing. The depth of her personality is nowhere to be found in 3. And no, it's not the voice change, I love Hale's work and she is doing a great job. We overlooked faults in the story in Bayo 1 (and arguably 2) because the gameplay loop was satisfying. Bayo 3 doesn't have that. And it makes me really fucking sad...

Ngl, I was hoping for a Hakuba and Kidnichi meeting...

But I was hoping for it in the movie, where it could at least be funny. (And also have precedent for Kidnichi.) Like, Hakuba mentioning that 'Shinichi' looks like someone he knows, or general immediate suspicion/knowing and poking.

Which I guess could still happen, but. Gosho why. You probably don't have the time within your case structure to make it fun, and. The full potential would have been before a murder added a layer of 'it's not worth my time to actually catch Kid, there's a more pressing criminal here'.

Though, the murder is at least an uncommon Kid event. Wish him playing detective were. You know. New. And also not teased and ripped away by the 'actually, it's not Kid, it was Vermouth all along!' case. I'm still salty about the mess of implications that were just thrown out there just for the shocking twist. Like. Conan casually accepting that Kid would show up as his dad is one thing, but also the general idea of 'no, actually, since it was Vermouth the whole time, she figured that she could set it all up, and knew Conan would accept help if Kid randomly showed up and offered it, and somehow knows his mannerisms when he interacts with Conan to not be suspected at all'. Mystery Train surprise help would not have keyed her in to anything to justify all that.

My Kid bias really can't fight back against all the disappointment from the past. But I'll still wait and see how the case pans out.

I just came home from the Eras tour movie and here are some thoughts:

First each era:

Lover: definitely a good place to start! Who doesn't love screaming the Cruel Summer bridge? But whyy did they have to cut the ultimate Katniss Everdeen song? (Aka The Archer)

Fearless: Fun and nostalgia! I don't really have much else to add about this section.

Evermore: I got more emotional than I expected about this section! Willow is an Experience TM (in a good way ofc), but also, Marjorie nearly made me cry, and the setting in Tolerate it is so well thought out. The Champagne Problems bridge ♥ I don't even mind NBNC had been removed from the movie because it's not my personal favorite 😅

Reputation: this is my personal favorite era so it's no surprise I was pretty much jumping up and down on my seat... Wish it was a little longer tho, like it would have been amazing to have songs like I did something bad or Getaway Car in the set list, but I shouldn't complain because some other eras are even shorter. (Also, the transition between Don't blame me and Look what you made me do! Always gets me)

Speak now: Only Enchanted (since Long Live had been moved to the ending credits, which admittedly was probably a good move) but well, it's always a lot of fun to scream the chorus, and Taylor's dress in this section looks so gorgeous!

Red: probably my least favorite section mainly due to my low tolerance to the earworms, but it was still fun (yes I even sang along to waneegbt, which I didn't think I'd do :'D) and ATW never disappoints!

Folklore: dare I say.... the section where I noticed my attention starting to go to other things, even though there were also songs I love such as August and Illicit Affairs. I would have kept Cardigan in the movie and taken, idk, f. ex. tlgad out of this section if smth had to be cut. And! I may make a separate post about this but damn I realized that My tears ricochet is such a hijacked Peeta song! Maybe it's just me but there were many parts that I could connect with him, but yeah, more about that later.

1989: After the much calmer folklore section this felt like 'it's party time!!' :'D It felt somehow more special knowing that we'll get the TV in only a couple of weeks! I think this section has pretty much all those songs you'd expect it to have, and tbh I don't even mind too much Wildest dreams got cut from the movie version.

surprise songs: ngl the LA shows each had such /amazing/ surprise songs (imo) that they couldn't have gone wrong now matter which ones they would have filmed (I was secretly hoping for You are in love and/or 1 of the reputation songs she sang in the last few shows), but I was very happy about YOYOK. Even filmed the bridge part and I could hear myself yelling it in the bg 😅 Our song is also fun tho I'm not really that big on the debut album generally speaking.

Midnights: Another favorite of mine. Those sitting near me were probably annoyed by the loudness with which I sang 'it's me, hi, I'm the problem it's me'. Karma is such a great way to finish the show (in my biased opinion, bc Karma is definitely one of my favorite songs from Midnights), and I wouldn't take anything out of this section.

Overall experience: While I admit that the (almost) 3 hours were starting to feel at some point, I don't think I would want it any shorter, I had such a great time! My personal experience was made better by the subtitles because I'm still a rookie Swiftie who doesn't remember each and every song by heart so it really helped me to sing along 😂 The movie hall I was watching it in wasn't huge, and well, I'm Finnish and we Finns are not generally speaking known for being loud so it did not get too loud at any point, but me and my neighbors were still singing along pretty much the whole time and I was also pleased that many fellow movie visitors knew some regular habits from the concerts, such as doing the heart hands or yelling 1, 2, 3 let's go bitch, etc. Luckily no one stood up near me! It was probably a good thing to go on the premiere day because I could tell most of the others in the hall were fans and not just going there 'because why not'. (Nothing wrong with that, but I myself feel more comfortable when I know that those near me are not judging me for being an enthusiastic viewer) And, as an added bonus, I got a friendship bracelet!!! I didn't think anyone would bring them, but the one sitting right next to me did, and it was such a nice gesture (I got one that said 'Cruel Summer'. They also gave us the tour posters at the cinema)

This movie/concert made me also realize how much happier (Taylor's) music currently makes me, so thank you, Miss Swift, for allowing even us here in the cold north to see this before you've even toured Europe!

Overall, 10/10, would (and likely will) go again. And yep, can't wait for next May now!

(A/N: hey there, I'm back..this time I wrote for the other characters, i hope you enjoyed it)

You met this boy at Dragonspine

That boy literally spent 24/7 of his life in that place ._.

He was at Starglow Cavern, painting cave structures and some hilichurls

You entered the cave and continued your adventure there (finding the history about the place)

Suddenly, a bunch of hilichurls started to attacked you..

There he saw how calm you are in that position, just swaying your sword back and forth elegantly

He just stands there and didn't realise that you've finished fighting the hilichurls and stared at him

"You know..it's not nice to just stand there and do nothing" you joke

"Oh..uhh sorry, I kinda zoned out.." he blurts

"ahaha, it's alright..i can see it on your face" you said

Albedo is literally stunned by your appearance, your figure, your eyes, everything

"I'm y/n, are you always go to this place?" you asked him

"Oh uhh, yes actually..i always do some research on this place..I'm Albedo btw" he respond

"Ahh I see.." you said, after that you accidentally saw his paintings

There was a painting of hilichurls and sketches of..you fighting?

"uhh are those your drawings?" you asked him

His face flushed because he got caught sketching a portrait of you

"Uh..yeah, you were an interesting...'view' let's just say..so I decided to draw you" he confess

You actually find his drawings beautiful yet pleasing to look at

"Wow..these are beautiful" you speak

The boy is literally out of words ngl, he's used to get some compliments from other people, but somehow..compliments from you made him flustered

"a-ah..w-why thank you.." he said

"Uhm..maybe you could come and join me next time..maybe pickup some materials or sightseeing areas of Dragonspine" he adds

"Of course, I'll go with you" you said

You two always spend time together at the mountains, well.. even though you don't go there everyday..lol

You always helped Albedo on his 'unusual' experiments or even tell him your stories of your adventures

The boy loves your eyes, he literally could get lost in those beautiful pairs..

Even though he painted it or sketches it..the feel is still different compared to looking at it directly

The feel just makes his heart race..<3

Like Albedo, he always spent most of his time at a certain place, for him..the place is the library

So... you obviously met him there

He was looking for a book that he wants to read since the last couple of months

The book was actually rare that not many people knew or read it..so he's looking for it

You actually borrowed the book from the library and you wanted to returned it

He currently asking the librarian when you suddenly walk to the counter and returned it

"I heard that you want to borrow this book?" you asked

"Oh..yes, I've been wanting to read it for sometime now" he answered

"It's quite rare that people actually read this book though and yet it actually caught your attention" he added

You nodded and smile at him "Yes actually, I was reading a few pages and then I was so in to the book, i have to borrow it"

You both laughed as you leave the library

"My name is Xingqiu btw, may I ask yours?" he asked

"I'm y/n, nice to meet you Xingqiu"

There, you two talked for archons know for how long

You two sometimes switched books from your collections or maybe go out and find some interesting books

Other than reading, Xingqiu enjoys going on adventures with you

Seeing the nature around him makes him feel lighter

He really loves to read books though, but he tries to make you comfortable as much as possible around him

Maybe he'll try to take you out on a stroll around Liyue Harbor or maybe eat at Wanmin Restaurant, depending your mood

Sometimes you guys planning to pull another prank on Chongyun LMAO

He wants to make sure that you're comfortable around him and feel happy around him

All in all, he wants to see you enjoyed his company

It was your first windblume, so you're still confused about the traditions that happening around

He was in front of the Cathedral finding students for his poetry class

When he saw you, he waved at you and you approached him

"Hey there! New to the festival?" he asked

"Oh yes, I've lived in the city for awhile but i never experienced this festival before.." you answered

"Ehe, allow me to explain it. The Windblume Festival is a Festival in Mondstadt celebrating the thousand winds. Usually, the people of Mondstadt offers windblume to the anemo archon and to their special loved ones" he explains

"The people actually have to take their matters into their own hands, so they don't really have anything to get helped with" he added

"Is that why when I asked if anyone needs help, they say they don't need one?" you asked again

"Hehe, that's right" he says, "Oh, I haven't introduced my self haven't I? ehe, my name is Venti, the most popular bard in town!" he adds

"Your that bard, I've heard great things about you, my name is y/n, I'm just a regular adventurer.." you replied

He shrugged and acts a little nervous when you said that

"So uh.. want me to take you around town and see what people are doing?" he offered

"Sure, that would be nice.." you said

With that you two took a stroll around the town

Seeing people prepare gifts for their loved ones, the atmosphere feels so wholesome

You guys even took a little trip to Windrise, and he even play you a tune or two

You really enjoyed his company and he’s enjoying it too

During the festival, you guys grew closer together, and maybe you guys would perform together in front of the Cathedral

You were really happy that you have someone to enjoy the festival with

Even Venti feels a lot of joy hanging out with you

He wonders that he could be with you for a long time..

Well, whatever he is feeling, he wants to grow more closer to you :3

You two met at his habitat, Wolvendom

You were currently adventuring at that place

When you're peacefully strolling around the place, you saw a bunch of wolves dead..

So you rushed to see where it was coming from

There, you saw a boy fighting against an abyss mage, boi... that thing really do like to cause trouble

The boy looked really angry despite the mage killed his wolf packs

You determined to help him and so you did..

After you two defeated the mage..he turned to look at you, "thank you... lupical, dead.." he said

This baby almost cried because he couldn't save all of them, only a few of them that are safe..

"I tried to protect them...but I failed...", he said in a sad tone

You looked at him sympathetically, "aww..it's alright..you tried your best, it's not your fault.." you said to him

He looked really sad and disappointed, but at the same time he felt kinda relieved that someone was there to help him

"Why did you come here..?" he asked, "Oh, I was just adventuring and then I suddenly found you..." you said

"My name is y/n.." you added, "I'm Razor"

"Do you come from here Razor?" you asked again, "yes..I was raised by wolves, Razor has no human family" he said

You were shocked that there's actually someone who is raised by wolves

"I see..." you said, "I think some of your wolf friends got hurt..may i help?" you offered him

Razor nodded and help you as much as he could

"There, that should do it.. they can't move that much for awhile, but they'll be alright.." you said to him

Razor was very grateful that he could find you, maybe he would be doomed if you hadn't come..

"You're strong...can Razor learn from you..?" he asked shyly :")

"Of course, I would be happy to teach you" you say

Razor smiled a little, he wanted to learn from you so that he could protect his lupical if something bad like this would happen

The next day, you came back to Wolvendom and train him

He picked up the lesson pretty quickly, and he now learnt how to use his Vision

You even teach the boy how to write and read loll v:

You came to Wolvendom couple of times, and besides train him, you helped him hunt some meats to eat

You never really force him to come and live at the city, but if he wants to visit it once or twice..you bring him there

Razor is really happy now that he learned new things from you and also has a friend that helped him..

Sometimes he wonders if he could protect you from danger too

He just didn't want to lose you like he loses his other wolf friends

Razor silently swore to him self that he will protect you from any danger that you encounter

Overall, you guys cared about each other and wanted to protect one and other, he just wishes that you'll be saver around him <3

Ngl big fears of mine are 1) They screw over Striker's character (ex. He follows Stella's orders without complaint, his business pitch isn't true/his true motive isn't "down with the monarchy", basically turned into your usual generic "must be better than everyone" villain pls I just want him to be at least a decently fleshed out morally grey villain/anti-hero) and 2) They screw over Stolas' character somehow (take away his character development or don't even bother developing him, continue to side with him instead of acknowledging that both Stolas and Stella are in the wrong cuz ye, those two don't love each other anymore but its still wrong to cheat on your spouse and assassinate your spouse respectively, I just want the owl dude to realize his mistakes and flaws and improve as a character).

Also, I really hope they don't force Stolitz cuz as much as I like it, I don't want it forced without any development. Like, at least have Stolas realize that he's been treating Blitz, and by extentions, imps in general, badly and try to improve as a person.

Nonnie I have so many feeling about this so hear me out

When Striker was first introduced I thought hey this guy is cool interesting and definitely an asshole who is impressed by Blitz I'm in love.

His first interaction wit Moxxie I PERSONALLY emphasis on the word personally think he was genuinely trying to see if he was as good as Blitz.

I mean here you have an imp that started his own business so he had to hired someone who was as equally impressive as him.

Most likely he had an idea what Moxxie was like since Millie's parents told him about her they probably told him about Moxxie and he wanted to see if they were right or not.

As the episode progresses you see how an equal he is to Blitz and Blitz is obviously attracted to him since he asked him to join IMP and Striker said yes so obviously these two were impressed wit each other they wanted to work together.

Now onto the speech, y'all I know I made a post about it but damn I can go forever as to why the speech is so fucking amazing and how it relates to the outside world and just everything about the speech just gets me so excited !!!

When you hear it your just like oh shit he's right everything about Hell and it's monarchy and how Blitz is means nothing because at the end of the day he's still following the status quo he's still doing what Hell and everyone thinks of IMPs.

Serving those higher than them.

And it's just Striker is a threat because he brought up some good points and it got you thinking about how EVERYONE views IMPs I mean we even saw a glimpse that the imps hated are annoyed and hurt by how others view them a glimpse along wit Striker's views were enough to get me thinking this character is gonna become a threat to Blitz and even Stolas and the monarchy that runs hell.

I mean he's the first one to openly insult a royal {Blitz doesn't count because of his relationship wit Stolas} so again all that is a perfect recipe for a morally grey character that's gonna become an interesting character that'll be a threat to everyone around him.

... ... ... And than we get to the ending ... ... ... Again I ain't gonna lie I was disappointed. Because like you nonnie I want this character to be fleshed out into a morally grey anti hero character.

I want him to become a threat and start inspiring his people to fight back, to show the royals who really runs hell.

Like this could lead up to such an interesting story tackling a lot of heavy topics basically the adult version of ATLA still be light hearted and funny but dealing wit sensitive topics.

But this is an "adult" cartoon where the humor relies heavily on sexual innuendos, cursing, inappropriate gestures, and other things that can't be shown in children cartoon characters.

If they can have Striker use Stella as a stepping stool to reach his goals that'll be fine wit me cause he can still be a morally grey character. Sadly I don't see that happening.

I don't think Vizipop and her crew are capable enough to handle writing such complexity due to many reasons one being character growth.

Unfortunately nonnie they already ruined Stolas's character.

For me I will take any form of development even if it's small, Stolas had that in the second episode he saw that his actions were hurting his daughter and he chose her above anything else.

When he saw that Via was hurt he chose to put aside his flirting nature and chose to get Via outta the theme park and take her where she wanted to go.

And than episode five happens and we are back to square one.

For me I would have had Stolas and Blitz renegotiating their agreement and have Blitz keep Stolas company like the two spend quality time together that way we can see them become aquaintencess then friends then lovers you know have a healthy normal relationship.

Have Stolas see the errors of his ways have Blitz grow and learn to love himself and accept himself and just watch the relationship happen naturally but again this is a cartoon for "adults" and it's aim for "adults".

We are five episodes in and have yet to see Blitz or any characters grow as individuals, hell we haven't even see them grow closer as a group it basically feels like I'm watching a bunch of random coworkers fighting each other and putting up wit each other because they have to.

Episode three had an opportunity to give us Loona and Blitz moments but all we got were drunken Moxxie horny teenagers and pacing that had no idea what it was doing.

Hell even episode four had it's moments where Blitz and the crew could've worked together but instead was dragged out.

Imma be honest with y'all though I saw no point in that episode I really didn't.

I personally think the episode were Stolas is sad could give us development but if imma be honest with you I think it's gonna be more of a flashback episode than anything else I wanna be wrong and I hope I am.

Honestly I feel as the show progresses we are gonna get Striker being a generic villain that'll give everyone a reason to hate him and BlitzStriker and Stolas would most like not suffer as much as we all think he should.

You shot a glare at Ryusui before turning away from him.

"....What do you want?"

"I was just saying what's on my mind. No need to get so defensive," he said as he grins, showing his neatly aligned, pearly white teeth. 

You heaved a sigh in defeat. This man has been constantly flirting with you ever since he first saw you and you *don't* like the attention you're receiving. 

He may have been a popular rich kid back in the modern world with many beautiful women beside him, but in this stone age, you couldn't help but to see him in a bad vision. 

You're not one to mind flirty behaviours shown by others, but what made you truly detest Ryusui is because of his greedy and arrogant nature. It just somehow hit your nerve, and you don't like it. 

"Do you need help with that?" He asked as he pointed towards a pile of fabric you were carrying. They were meant to be sent to Yuzuriha, and you did not wish to waste any more time on Ryusui so you just shook your head in response and quickly left him. 

As you tried to leave, you accidentally tripped on a stick that was lying around and fell flat on your face. The pain from the fall hurts, but it was nothing serious. Rather, you were more concerned of Ryusui who just witnessed your embarrassing fall. 

You turned to face him but he wasn't at his previous spot. You wondered where he went off to when suddenly he appeared in front of your eyes with a concerned face.

"Hey, are you okay?" He asked as he cupped both your cheeks in his hands, inspecting every single part of your beautiful face. The close distance between your faces and the warmth his hands were radiating made your face flushed. You completely froze in your spot, not knowing what to do. 

After a few more seconds had passed, you finally snapped back into reality and moved away from his touch.

"Don't touch me so casually, please," your voice came out louder and calmer than you had intended, and you internally praised yourselves for not stuttering at all even though your face beet red.

"I'm sorry about that, but are you really okay? You didn't hurt yourself from the fall or anything?"

The way he asked that in such a concerned and genuine manner made your heart skip a beat. You didn't know he was that concerned about your well-being. 

"I'm perfectly fine. Please excuse me."

You quickly left him alone, more careful this time as to not trip for the second time.

Ryusui watched as your back slowly left his vision before standing up from his crouching position. 

"You really like her, don't you?"

He turned back to see Gen leaning against a wall while looking at him with the eyes of all-knowing. 

"You can ompliment-cay all the women in this world, but in the end, she's the only one you'll ever look at with those eyes."

Ryusui gave a light scoff at his statement. 

"I hate to admit it to you, but yeah, you're absolutely right."

How could he not? You may act cold around him, but he always saw how sweet and kind you can be. How hardworking and stubborn you are sometimes made him smile to himself. How he wished he could hold you in his arms right now.

You stopped in your tracks as you heard the familiar boisterous voice that belonged to no one other than Ryusui. He was talking with Senku and the others. Probably about something important but you noticed how his charming smile never left his face during the discussion.

You were so caught up in staring at him that you didn't realize the approaching Minami behind you. 

"Who are you staring at, hmm?"

You almost screamed at the sudden surprise but you managed to cover your mouth before then and when you turned around, your eyes narrowed at the grinning Minami.

"Stop scaring me like that, Minami," you said as you glared at her. She only grinned mischievously as a response and looked over you to see who you were staring at.

"I smelled a maiden in love so I just had to. But anyways, you were looking at Ryusui huh?"

Your face turned red at her guess, exposing the fact that you indeed were staring at him. Minami's grin widened as she saw your reaction. 

"I wasn't staring at anyone. Besides, I'm not a 'maiden in love' or anything. I DON'T like him," you turned away from her, covering your face to hide the blush that's forming on your face. 

"I doubt that~ You were totally staring at him. I know you like him, Y/N."

A vein popped on your forehead and you continued glaring at her who seemed to be too excited about someone else's love life.

"Oh, fancy seeing you two beauties here."

Ryusui's voice from behind you made you let out a squeal in surprise. You quickly hid behind Minami, using her as a shield from Ryusui. 

Ryusui blinked in confusion when he saw how defensive you got as soon as he came close to you. A little part of him was a bit hurt because of what you did, but he decided to not pay it any mind and continued smiling at you two. Gen who was near looked at you in amusement. He didn't expect you to get so embarrassed to the point of hiding behind Minami. 

"What were you two talking about?" 

At his question, you glared daggers at Minami, silently warning her to not spill the beans. She just sweatdropped as a response.

"Nothing much," she replied to him nonchalantly. He looked dissatisfied with the vague answer and was about to question more but before he could you had already tugged at Minami's arm, pulling her away from him.

"Sorry, but we're a bit busy. Excuse us."

And with that, you quickly left him all the while dragging Minami along with you. 

As soon as you and Minami were no longer on sight, Ryusui heaved a quiet sigh. He wanted to talk more with you, but with the way it is now, it didn't seem possible. 

"Well, if she hates me then, I'll just do everything I can to make her mine!"

Ryusui declared that loudly, showing his greedy nature to the world. Gen shook his head in disappointment. 

"The both of you are really idiots," he whispered that softly to himself.

"You know that Ryusui likes you, right?"

The sudden question by Kohaku that was aimed at you made you choke on your water. Yuzuriha who was beside you quickly rubbed circles behind your back, easing your coughing. 

"W-where did you even get that idea??"

Kohaku's lips formed into a cat-like smile, amused at your flustered reaction. 

"I mean, it's kinda obvious? He always flirts and compliments you most of the time. Sure, he is like that towards everyone but there's something special that he only shows to you, y'know?"

Your face flushed at her statement, but you never let yourself be indulged in the idea that Ryusui had some kind of special feelings towards you. 

"Don't be ridiculous. He's like that towards everyone. There's...no way he would like me. I keep acting like such a cold person towards him."

Everyone fell silent at your confession. They don't understand how you could be so dense of Ryusui's feelings towards you. And it's clear that you also felt the same towards him, even if you keep denying it. 

"Then, why don't you give him a confession chocolate next Valentine?"

Nikki suddenly suggested that, breaking the heavy silence. 

"That's right! I heard from Taiju that Senku's planning to make chocolate for Valentine's. I think that's perfect," Yuzuriha chimed in, nodding her head along.

"That's...a bit….uhm…."

You tried to find the right word to decline the suggestion but after seeing all the girl's pleading eyes, you just can't bring yourself to say no to them.

"Fine. But I'm just making him a chocolate! No more no less."

The girls all cheered in unison, succeeding in convincing you to make chocolate for Ryusui.

You held the box of chocolate you had decorated neatly close to your rapidly beating heart. You had helped Senku and the others in making the chocolate in hopes of understanding the process better before making it yourself. The taste was pretty good, if you'd say so yourself. 

That night, you searched for Ryusui everywhere. You hadn't seen him at all today. You asked several other people of his whereabouts but they all shrugged their shoulders, not knowing where the greedy blonde was either.

In the end, you decided to just search for him in his tent. Surprisingly, he was there. Although, he's not awake. You saw him peacefully sleeping with his captain hat on his laid body. 

Your heart raced at the rare sight of him without his hat. The peaceful face of him sleeping made him all the more charming and you could've sworn the sound of your heartbeat was loud enough for other people to hear.

You decided to leave the box of chocolate right beside him and leave it at that. However, as soon as you sat beside him, his eyes shot open and he grabbed your wrist with a lopsided grin adorning his face.

"Hmm~ What were you trying to do, Y/N?"

You tried to retreat back your wrist that he's holding but he didn't loosen the grip on it at all. Your face turned bright red once again and you looked down in embarrassment, unable to look him in the eyes.

"Nothing! I wasn't doing anything!"

"Then what's that box you have there?"

You tried to quickly hide the chocolate box after he pointed it out in hopes he'd forget about it but you yourself knew that it's pointless. 

He sat himself up while still holding onto your wrist. 

"Is that for me?" 

He asked, his voice was soft, unlike how loud he's always been. 

You slowly nod your head. There's no use in hiding that now. 

He reached behind you for the chocolate box. Your breath hitched at the closeness of his face with yours. You could feel his breath brushed your face gently. By the time he had already gotten the chocolate box, your face was already as red as tomato. 

He stared at your flushed face. You hadn't realized it since your eyes are spinning from the embarrassment. He softly cupped your cheeks in both of his hands and made you face him. 

"I like you," he softly whispered to you. It was just your gut feelings, but you *know* he meant every word he said. Your heart was filled to the brim and you couldn't be happier to hear those words come out of his mouth.

"I...like you too..."

He gave his signature smile before slowly bringing your face closer to his...when suddenly,

"Hey! Stop pushing!"

"It's not me! It's Kohaku-chan!"

"Lower your voice a bit!"

The obvious whisper-yelling voices of the people outside interrupted your kiss. You pulled your head away from him and turned to the front of the tent.

"All of you can't be more obvious!"

The voices went silent before they entered the tent with awkward grins on their faces. Your face went bright red but no longer than a second later, Ryusui burst into laughter. 

"Well, isn't this great? Everyone here can witness that you're mine."

Then, he swooped you into a loving kiss, surprising everyone with his action, including yourself. 

You felt like you would faint after he pulled away from the kiss and your face was so hot and red to the point there's even steam coming out of it. Ryusui just grinned nonchalantly after what he just did. You swear this man will be the death of you.

Helloo, back from my very short break. It was calm while it lasted, now time for more brainrot. Honestly though, I couldn't help myself because there's nothing better to do during the winter holidays and I definitely don't want to talk politics with my dad, so back to dramas it was! On the bright side, I did read a book and picked up 2 others as well!!

Ngl, I had watched bb by the time I sent you that last ask, but I needed time to process the mess that was that episode. I still don't understand where they're going with all of this but all I can say is that I'm disappointed. Extremely. There were cute moments and a lot of usual bl tropes grappled with really well, but overall...*shrugs* I mean come on, a gun?? Whatever happened to holding people responsible for being shitheads. I felt there was a drastic change in screenwriting compared to the past episodes, all of this felt chaotic like they pulled it out of nowhere. Maybe they wanted to put an end to the wai conflict as soon as possible so they can focus on the parents in the last few episodes but it still didn't sit right with me. I'm glad there's no new episode this friday because I need another week to forget ep 9 ever happened anfsjfjsk

I am, on the other hand, quite sad about not having not me on sunday, because it's been consistently delivering so far and I'm here for it all. Very intrigued about dan's character, I've heard people say he's a former cop, which adds more depth to the character because he'll know of the flaws in the system seeing that he's fighting back in his own way. And todd, very sus guy in my eyes. Wasn't phased by his friend being beaten up (at least that's how it looked to me), somehow knew that white returned (I'm sure no one was aware except white's dad's acquaintances since pretty much everyone else lost touch or were cut off, that's saying something here 👀), strikes me as a guy up to no good (watch me be proved wrong later).

And I'd love to talk about something that's not dramas too! My taste in things is pretty lackluster tbh, but I've got a lot of useless interests. I love dabbling in whatever I find amusing for the day and never see it through till the end, tryna fix that habit though but we'll see. That said, I've got a song rec for you, it's called 'apartment' by hikaru arata, hope you like it!

while i’ve always felt small divergences here and there in the show, nothing was as chaotic and bad as the gun thing. which is just Beyond me. i fail to understand the thought process behind it. like my brain legit cannot register it’s a thing that actually happened.

i understand wanting this plot point to be over but there are better ways to do it. like for example, having wai overhear pat and pran but never expose them, let the boys share their relationship with everyone else when they’re ready to as it should be, and okay FINE let wai sulk and avoid pran at first but eventually remember pran’s words about not choosing who you fall for and how hard it is to hide a relationship and have wai eventually realize that he cares about pran way more than he cares about the stupid rivalry and pat.

and you know what?? if they wanted a shooting scene That bad then have wai get shot while defending pat instead of the other way around! have wai tell pat that he didn’t do it for him but for pran (cuz he’s mad at pran but he still cares about him). at least it’s ONE thing wai would be doing for pran, in the whole show. this would bring them closer anyways because pat and pran would take care of wai like it’s their own son and this would give him the chance to really have a heartfelt conversation with pran and they would apologize to each other for all the hiding and sulking.

and doesn’t pran’s mom LoVe wai? so she goes to visit him and finds pat and pran in the room being quite friendly. there you go, they’re still somewhat caught like in the end of ep 9.

this is just a silly example, really. but STILL. i would’ve liked it much better.

and once again i’m with you. i need another week to try and get over ep 9, so it’s a good thing for me that there’s no new episode this week.

After that event in August 1st, where the VAs of Sesshomaru and Rin revealed the twins' designs, the Jaken's VA send a letter on twitter (i don't have the link im sorry) where he congratulated to them as "newly weds" and he said that he wishes Rin hapiness. What do you think about this? Do you think this is a confirmation that Rin is the mother?

So based on what I know, no, I do not take this is as confirmation that Rin is the mother. That's not to say she can't turn out to be it, I just wouldn't use this as evidence. The letter you are referring to never actually mentioned anything about a wedding or newly weds, as that rumor has been debunked.

Since it's almost been a month already, I had to refresh my memory and ask a couple others to recall what exactly it was that Jaken said to Sesshomaru and Rin throughout that livestream. Jaken's VA couldn't make it to the event or maybe it was that he wasn't invited, Idk.

First thing's first, it wasn't only a single letter Jaken('s VA) sent. It was 3 separate ones- one to Sesshomaru, one to Rin, and one to the audience. Now I'm not sure about the order they were showed in, but in this instance I don't think it matters all that much.

In the letter to the audience, he was wishing everyone the best during these trying times of covid-19.

The second was to Sesshomaru. In this particular letter he says he "doesn't understand" in reference to either something happening or what Sesshy did/said. He also says he hopes he's doing well.

The third letter was for Rin. He says something along the lines of "my daughter, I wish you well."

All in all, the three letters were pretty short and vague. There is however no mention of a marriage or a congratulations.

I believe what happened was that a lot of pro-Sessrin fans took his wishes for Rin to mean she got married to Sesshomaru. I think the confusion started because the contents of all letters were initially believed to be only the one letter.

This part has bugged me forever haha but I'm still not sure why Jaken being her dad has to automatically mean Sesshomaru isn't like one, too. By leaving him out one assumes so, I guess? Or why does Jaken being Rin's dad somehow translate to Sesshomaru being her husband? Please explain to me how we arrived at such a wild deduction. I suppose we can partially owe these interpretations to fans getting overly excited and carried away.

There's just so many (unknown) factors we have to take into account. If I were a Sessrin shipper, I'd probably jump to a similar if not the same conclusion ngl. It would be hard not to "read between the lines" and take these small potential clues as proof, but fans must be wary. I totally get the temptation, alright, but wishful thinking may be getting the best of us if we allow ourselves to mistake potential fanbait for legitimate assurance something will guaranteed happen.

The way I look at it, keeping the mom a mystery is nothing but a marketing ploy to keep all sides of this fandom appeased for as long as possible until the sequel is out.

If we try and acknowledge only the facts provided to us (accompanied with as little bias as possible), then all I'm really witnessing is Jaken dedicating sweet handwritten letters to his beloved Lord Sesshomaru and his former traveling companion/sister/daughter Rin. I'm not sure why they can't simply be letters without turning them into some riddle we need to solve or a code we need to crack.

Sunrise is well aware of the risk Sessrin going canon poses. But if Sunrise decided to go through with it and the mom is just going to end up being Rin anyway, what's with all the secrecy? Especially seeing as that livestream with her VA present would've been the perfect opportunity to reveal it. The entire fandom- shippers and antis alike- were expecting it. So what gives? For some reason Sunrise insists on keeping the mom's identity a secret, which tells me one of two things:

1) it's a new character

and/or

2) she's integral to the plot for this sequel

Supposedly Rumiko was behind the idea of keeping the mom's identity hidden, which makes this predicament that much more curious. One fan recently pointed out in the comments section for an ask I answered 2 days ago here that the VAs from that livestream keep talking about Jaken being a dad to Rin probably to "protect their products." Although this is a valid point, we must consider it from the opposing side. A similar and sound reasoning can be applied to a counter-argument, as well.

What I mean by that is what if the VAs' efforts to go out of their way to please the Sessrin fandom could be partly due to the fact that they want to give those fans a little something knowing what's in store. They know what's to come won't go in their favor, but better to give them crumbs and keep them satisfied and engaged until the sequel than nothing at all. We've all been there before, where we get hooked by the promo interviews but the end results wind up being almost nothing like those actors described it. It can be disappointing when we allow ourselves to get our hopes up high, but it happens all the same. The baiting/trolling stops for no one, ha! Of course I'm directing this at all Inuyasha fans, not only Sessrin fans. Gods know I've been guilty of being let down, I just pray this time ain't one of them. 😉

Yes, I'm well aware that many of the staff on Inuyasha support or even ship Sessrin. We must however remind ourselves that this wouldn't be the first time staff shipped a pairing on a series they worked for, but that doesn't necessarily mean these ships go canon either. In all actuality, I'd say most if not all times these pairings in question never go canon. The shippers among the staff can create all the unofficial merchandise or advertisement they want- drama cds, calendars, what have you- but that may be all they're allowed to do when all is said and done. At the end of the day, those aren't what ultimately shape and define the story Sunrise and Rumiko are collaborating on together. Let's just hope this ain't solely some cash grab and that Rumiko isn't a sellout. If neither is the case, we may very well have ourselves a decent sequel. 🤞🤞
