How I picture this conversation would go during the aftermath of the Brooklyn battle in the movie.
Context: *Mario and Luigi are sitting at the table in their families' apartment. Their mother and father listen in while Mario telling them the story, getting near the part of when the wedding took place*
M&L's father: "Wow! You guys went through so much in what, a day? I'm surprised you guys were still standing after all of that!"
Mario: "Yeah, getting that star definitely helped with our injuries. Especially with mine."
M&L's mother, putting a plate of hot food down in front of him: "Well, I'm just glad you boys are safe and sound. If I was there, I would have given that turtle man a piece of my mind for hurting you two."
Luigi: "I'm sure you would have, ma."
Mario: "No doubt about that. I feel like I'm forgetting something else that happened."
Luigi: "Oh yeah, I remember what you forgot. Mario had to put on a bear costume in order to save me."
Mario: 'blushes and coughs awkwardly while burying his head in his plate'.
M&L's Mom: "....he dressed as a bear?"
Luigi, nonchalantly while continuing to eat his food: "Yep. Looked all plush and cuddly, too."
Mario, glaring at him: "Lu..."
M&L's Father: "What? Why the heck did you have on a bear costume?"
Mario, through clenched teeth: "It was actually an animal called a tanooki, and it helped me save Luigi from certain death during the wedding."
M&L's mom: "Ooh! You guys were at a wedding? Was it lovely?"
Mario: "Well, we weren't invited per say. Luigi and the other captured prisoners were going to be sacrificed in "honor" for the wedding to commence, and I was fighting the Koopas in the kingdom below with DK. So, in order to get where they were, I had to get a power up that allowed me to fly up there just in time to save him."
Luigi, grinning smugly: "And he was this close to becoming the ring bear-er."
Mario: "Luigi, I swear..."
M&L's father: "What’s a ta-whoo-ki?"
Mario: "it's pronounced ta-noo-ki, dad, and it's a type of raccoon dog and -"
Luigi, without missing a beat: "And the only thing that he actually can live up to in his name now."
Mario: "Oh, will you SHUT IT?!?"

Although we don’t know the exact details behind the central conflict of Across the Spiderverse and it could very well be an intentional trailer misdirect, I think the possibility of Miles having to save one of his parents at the risk of the multiverse has strong potential to challenge the deeply rooted idea that tragedy and sacrifice define Spider-Man as a character. Much of Spider-Man media suggests that Spider-Man absolutely has to give up his loved ones and personal life for the sake of his duties, an idea that’s so ingrained culturally that many people weren’t satisfied with the MCU’s Peter Parker until No Way Home literally everything away from him. And while this is a staple of the character for a reason and even the first Spiderverse movie delves into the idea of getting back up from major loss, the new Spiderverse movie looks like it might offer the much more optimistic perspective that you don’t have to lose everything to wear the mask. Miguel sees himself as the protector of destiny, and most likely having lost a loved one himself, fully believes that Miles’ losses are set in stone for the good of the multiverse. But Miles has never been one to follow the narrative. He was bitten by a spider not of his world and went beyond the expectations of others by doing things his own way. He defines his own path and will fight to keep both the multiverse and his happiness alive, no matter how much he’s told he can’t have both.

Ingo held Khan's scaled wrist gently as he examined the claws his friend now sported. Five fingers had been turned into four deadly talons, new to Ingo but already put to gruesome work by the hybrid.
"I'm sorry about your hands..." he said softly. Khan shrugged as he examined his other claws.
"Eh, don't sweat it. It's hardly the worst thing they've done to me." He responded mildly. As though his body being changed against his will to a weapon was the norm. Ingo glanced at his eyes, his fangs, the remnants of his horns- and remembered this wasn't the first time his friend had been altered against his will. His grip on Khan's hand tightened.
"Still," he insisted, "if we'd found you guys sooner..."
If they'd found Khan and Nana sooner, Khan would still have his hands and Nana would still have both eyes. If they'd been just a little faster to realize the hybrids were missing, to remember where they had come from, if they had pushed their pokemon a little harder to fly and fight-
"I'm glad you found us at all, honestly." Khan said it off the cuff, without thinking, but must have felt how Ingo's grip tightened again. He turned his head to look at his friend and Ingo felt mild dread at the look in his eyes. As Khan leaned forward he cringed back just slightly.
"Hey, look on the bright side!" Khan accentuated his words with a point from his claws. He must have seen Ingo's confused upset because he smiled wider.
"The bright side?" Ingo repeated. There was a bright side to this?
Khan shut his eyes as if he was a teacher explaining something incredibly simple.
"Oh, my sweet summer train man, of course there is!"
He stuck out his claws like Elesa and Skylar did when they were showing off freshly done nails. The scales gleamed in the light, dimly iridescent.
"I match your color scheme now!"
Ingo's gaze remained on the claws for a moment. Was this really a good thing? Khan had lost another important part of himself because he and Emmet had been too slow. Was the simple black nature of his scales that important? Could it make up for everything else?
He looked up with tired eyes, meeting Khan's gaze again, and realized that Khan was not as unaffected as he thought. He was giving Ingo the softest smile he'd ever witnessed on the other man's scarred face, his eyes half shut and gentle. Khan had been there when it happened, had suffered the consequences, just as he had the last time he'd been abducted. He would figure out how to deal with his new appendages just as he always had before. It was not quite old hat, but it was also nothing new, and something would have been changed no matter how quickly he and Emmet had arrived.
For the first time in the years he'd known Khan, the hybrid was being sympathetic and offering Ingo a comfort over something he had no control of. Yes, he now had claws and scales, but they were the color that Ingo most frequently found himself in. The color of one of his closest family members. Ingo wondered if Khan had used that as a way to comfort himself after it happened, but didn't dare ask. Instead he tried smiling. Surely it was weak, but the worried look in Khan's eyes lessened.
"Yes, you're quite right." Ingo grasped Khan's claws as if they were still his hands, holding them tightly. He would get used to them, just as Khan had. It would be alright. "Another color would have been quite unfortunate."

i think i’ve made this post like 15 times but you see the thing is that blair and serena and nate were best friends and they were each other’s home and nate truly loved blair and blair was everything good in the world to serena and serena had been pointedly changing the subject in her mind whenever she felt the small changes that had developed over a long period of time in her feelings for nate like she would just refuse to think about it and nate had been feeling and letting his mind wander and imagine but it was theoretical because he loved blair and they could never hurt blair but then there’s the shepard wedding and they’re both drunk and alive and everything under the surface pushes past they’re blocks and they’re not thinking about blair or consequences or anything they’re just feeling the feelings they’ve buried and then serena runs because she’s just betrayed her best friend the person she loves more than anything else in the world and she can’t face that so she leaves the wedding and then later that night she can’t face herself either so she leaves and she doesn’t talk to blair for a year because she can’t. she can’t face that. she can’t face the hurt she caused the person she loves so much so she ignores it and her. and nate spends the year waiting hoping for serena to come back because now that he’s opened the door in his mind he can’t close it and he doesn’t want to try but serena’s gone and blair’s here and she’s his best friend and he doesn’t want to hurt her for nothing because he loves her so much in whatever way and he doesn’t want her to leave so he lies to her for a year and that lie along with his newfound knowledge that he’s fallen out of love with her causes him to push her away and then blair and suddenly in a night her best friend and the person she loves most in the world leaves and refuses to talk to her and her boyfriend best friend is pulling away and clearly keeping a secret and then her dad leaves and her world keeps blowing up and she’s all alone and she wants to talk to serena more than anything but serena won’t talk to her serena was the first to leave her so she goes on and starts building her empire and clings to the perfect vision of herself and her life and she doesn’t let anybody see that none of it’s perfect because her best friend left and her dad left and while her boyfriend is technically still there the real connection they had is fading away and she’s losing another best friend but she pretends because he’s part of her perfect. and then serena comes back and blair hates serena for leaving her alone she’s so angry she’s so hurt she tries so hard to want serena to keep away but she can’t she doesn’t want that she can’t want that blair was so alone serena being beside her being her best friend was always where she had felt safe and warm and home and blair hadn’t felt that in so long and she wants so badly to feel that way again so even though she’s still angry with serena for taking it away in the first place she misses it more and she after fighting with herself and with serena for a while she lets herself have it and be vulnerable in front of serena and let her back in. and then nate the second he hears serena’s back knows that he wants to risk it all and throw the mapped out life course he’s on down the drain she comes back and he feels more awake than he had felt the whole year she was away and he wants to say fuck consequences and be with her. but serena doesn’t want to fuck consequences. she’s determined to be a good friend and to be a good person and she chooses blair. serena loves blair more than anything and she hates herself for betraying her and she’s determined to be a good friend. and she won’t say fuck consequences with nate. she won’t choose him. and nate who had been happy and hopeful at her return is so hurt by that he spent the year choosing serena by not telling blair anything and then when she tells him that she doesn’t want his choice he in an act somewhat driven a tiny bit by spite and driven a lot
by hurt but also by a fear of losing both of the people he loves most in the world both his best friends he then chooses blair and tells her what happened at the shepard wedding. and blair sure is hurt by nate but like it’s not the most painful part about this by far for a year he’s been lost to her anyway and more representing the perfect golden future she’s determinedly marching towards rather than their once meaningful bond still meaning that much she’s hurt but like that’s overshadowed by other hurts most from or involving serena. involving in that blair has felt second to serena always and now in this too? nate pressed down on her biggest insecurity and she’s angry and hurt. but that’s also not the biggest hurt. because even though she’s always felt second to serena, serena had still always been safety and home and love to blair. and now that’s gone. blair learns that serena betrayed her she did something that would of course hurt blair so much. blair’s best friend in the entire world who she trusted more than anything betrayed her. blair’s alone again. and she’s angry and she’s hurt and lashing out and trying to make serena hurt as badly as she does but nothing she does can compare to the hurt serena caused her but she keeps trying because she hurts so much. she air quotes forgives nate to get back on her perfect future track but she cannot ‘forgive’ serena in that same way because even though they both betrayed her betrayal from serena hurts a million times more. serena betrayed her. it’s not about nate for blair it’s about serena. it’s about the fact that serena was willing to hurt her. that hurts way more than nate’s willingness to hurt her. okay back to nate so he’s ‘trying’ to fix things with blair and blair tells him not to talk to serena and at first he doesn’t want to hurt her so there’s his i needed to talk to her secretly in chuck’s bedroom to tell her that i can’t talk to her moment but then well he sees serena and dan and he sees how much serena has not chosen him (she chose blair) and he’s so so hurt by that so well now driven more by spite and even more by hurt he sticks to his earlier choosing to fix things with blair even harder and again spite and hurt like literally does not speak to serena. and serena’s really hurt by that she’s hurt when she’s learns at brunch that he would consider not speaking to her and she’s really really hurt when he just literally does not speak to her and it’s like serena chose blair and she’s determined to fix things with blair and to do that she needs to not speak to nate but that doesn’t change the fact that it hurts her so so much that he won’t speak to her.

BOOM. FANFICTION
We have a dead OC haunting the narrative, we have absolutely soul crushing whump, we have hurt/comfort and a little sprinkle of hurt again at the end! What's not to love!
HELL YEAH! Another entry to the 7-rats-in-a-trenchcoat holy war cinematic universe!!!! Today is a gooood day
when I saw the mail icon I was like I HAVE BEEN CONTACTED YEAAAAAAA
today... is an even better day because we got more Saorise... I'm gonna cry.
You know, I didn't recognize that the "dead oc" was her until I saw her actual name, because in my mind she's still alive and running around as a vital part of the ten commandments. I haven't done anything but gently put her in the background of the daydreams with a cookie of her choice yet, because knowing she was Zeldris's only friend on top of being her own lovable self and now learning that she was a like sister to them both- my HEART 😭
i cannot touch that yet. it is holy. but one day, if I have your approval, I swear I'll make her a happy ending. bc that's what I've been doing since I was little for tragic narratives (Cough, cough, Darkstalker Legends, if you know you know) and now's as good a time as any to step up my game. just the prospect gives my heart the zoomies
me when a writer I love makes an oc and gives them the good angst: 👀 is mine to love? to cherish? to make fictional happy endings for? fictional happy endings that don't exist for the characters that don't exist, that are wonderful and die a horrible undeserved death that fits the themes and story so well my heart is screaming?
oh... so THIS is where that sketch is from...
can you tell I can't write tragedies but enjoy the themes and execution of them so much that I religiously read and corrupt them anyway? yeah 😍

I understand that they couldn’t give all the older characters in DA2 an Inquisition cameo but in some cases it really SUCKS.
Dorian and Fenris could basically be character foils. Isabela and Bull shouldn’t be brought together for the safety of the general public. Merrill meets God. AND WHERE IS ANDERS
It’s not even about liking him or disliking him, completely writing out the guy who caused the entire civil war backdrop the game is set in is insane. Anders pretty much killed Archduke Ferdinand and if you had only played Inquisition you wouldn’t even know that happened
